Can I have more of them in Strange New Worlds, please? Especially since they've finally got a Scottish actor to play Scotty. Also, if they can ram Spock/Chapel down our throats and make me love T'Pring, not to mention change Kirk to knowing he's got a son, then this is no different. Mild flirting, Scotty flailing while Uhura leads and everyone trying to set them up clumsily.

So now that they've officially introduced Scotty on Strange New Worlds, I just remembered that in the later years, he and Uhura get together.

Wonder if they'll make it happen sooner or ignore it altogether. 🤔

In the TOS crew, I think I'd either have Kirk or Scotty be a werewolf.

Kirk bc he already has puppy dog tendencies and I think he'd be kinda destructive but sweet in his wolf form. I imagine him with lighter fur and a more domestic-ish dog look to him but still definitely a werewolf. He's actually not very aggressive in his werewolf form, he mostly just likes to cuddle with Spock, but he does get very overprotective and kinda refuses to let Spock leave their quarters until he's back to normal so Scotty has to take the bridge whenever Kirk transforms but no one knows why and it's highly confusing 💀

Scotty, meanwhile, turns into a giant fucking direwolf and is super super destructive and violent. It's kinda weird considering how gentle and sweet he is usually, but in his wolf form he can and will tear apart anything he sees. He's covered in scars from where he's scratched himself or gotten into trouble in this form, but he always has Uhura to keep him from getting too hurt. She stays with him in his quarters and sings to him and makes sure he's fed, and she ensures he's well taken care of after the fact when he goes back to being human <<3

A little HC post on Scotty x Uhura JUST BECAUSE I DON'T WANT THIS ACCOUNT TO COMPLETELY DIE LOL (this is written in mind for older!Scotty and older!Uhura BUT interpret it however u want ^w^)

- Scotty has never minded having rough, calloused hands, if anything he's taken pride in it! He's an engineer, one who's put in many, many years of hard work. It's a symbol of what he's done- what he does. But.. yet, he can't help but feel a bit self conscious when he finds himself contrasting his own hands to Uhuras. Soft, thin, beautiful- not without a few small notes of their own, but for the most part simply perfect.

And in contrast to his it makes him feel.. well, imperfect, he'd suppose. She deserves a lot better than an old engineer with scars and dents like the ol' Enterprise herself.

But Uhura eventually does notice how his smile shortens, or his grip softens momentarily, or he has to quickly glance elsewhere when they hold hands. And upon finally learning why he does this, his, what he thought to be, unimportant feelings.. she, takes his hands gently into her own, and lifts them to her lips; Offering the most warm of kisses.

"You're perfect, Scotty." Against his hand, Scotty could feel her smile. His cheeks felt a rush of heat that roused a small, bashful wheeze out of him.

"A-ah, I don't know about that, Lass-"

"But you are." Her eyes flicked upwards, and she finally allowed his hands to fall; But intertwined with her own. She stepped forward, their bodies bumping together. "And if I have to tell you every single day I see you? Well, then it'll be a priority one for me." Uhura stood up as high as she could, whispering against his ear in a way that sent tickles up his spine.

"Until you see yourself the way I see you."

Can we, as a fandom, ever stop bringing other ships down (not actual relationship arcs from canon, I'm talking ships) to elevate those we like?

Can people stop saying Uhotty is 1 a fake ship, 2 the least popular Star Trek ship, 3 only liked by Spirk shippers and only as a way to keep Spock free for Kirk?

You know what would make SNW potentially introducing Scotty (whether he be chief or up-and-coming engineering sidekick) so early after Hemmer’s death (or was it? 👀) a little easier to swallow for me personally?

Like, we know they are together by Star Trek V, but like, where did that all start? Like, is it a relationship that happened entirely offscreen post TOS, or is there groundwork we never got to see?

Like, were they dating before and like, broke up for a few years in TOS (cuz Scotty does get 2 or 3 love interests, like, one per season). Then got back together after the 5 year mission was done? Or like, were they really good friends off-screen and decided to start a relationship much later? I’d be happy with either! I just want them to get some screentime if we HAVE to put up with more legacy characters (which while I don’t hate, I’d prefer not to).

I’d like to know, because while I’m a Hikura shipper at heart, Uhotty is adorable, it just has no real build up at all before we find out about them in the later movies 😅
