This may be too supernatural for an actually pretty down to earth show that is dbda (when it comes to magic, abilities and power scaling), but I'd have a blast seeing the plot point of Edwin's soul's capability to be used for obtaining magical power make a comeback
What would be even cooler is if it was Edwin himself who became interested in using that power
I can see him researching what devices can be used for it, do they have to always inflict pain on him to work and if yes, then how far is he willing to go in order to get it
He'd never use it for any malicious purposes or to just possess power for power's sake, he'd use it in extremely dire situations, when he really needs a certain spell to be amplified in order to rescue Charles from danger
Which brings me to the obvious angst potential of Edwin hiding the pain, lying about the source of the amazing power and then ofc Charles finding out and oh
(It'd introduce more magic and actual combat power for the boys - which is actually the opposite of what the show is about, I know, aside from a wild use of Crystal's vast abilities, they really make a good job at showing that the boys were just normal humans (and now ghosts) who predominantly use their wits and knowledge gathered throughout the many years of being on Earth, so I wouldn't even expect them to go this direction (if they actually mention Edwin's soul's power ever again), but it's just a very fun concept to me)

I’m a sucker for little details and Dead Boy Detectives does that SO WELL SJSJ
So without further ado here’s a not-so-comprehensive-or-complete list of my fave little details from the show (and if you haven’t seen it yet. GO GO GO)
1. Edwin and Charles’s movements. The way they mimic each other, tilt their heads at the same angle at the same time, the silent conversations, UGHHH
2. Charles finding Edwin in Hell EXACTLY MIRRORING Edwin finding Charles when he was dying (ie the dying one turned away, wrapped in a blanket with no hope and the saviour standing above them looking like a goddamn angel, holding a lantern)
3. I didn’t count but I bet if I did I would see exactly 147 cats (King included. When I do my rewatch I’ll count for sure)
4. The music choices!!! I knew this show would steal my heart when they played Hang On To Yourself (one of my favourite Bowie songs OF ALL TIME) in the first episode, and I was EVEN MORE SURE when they played Disorder (also one of my fave Joy Division songs)
5. The cat king wearing a skirt :)
6. Any nod to the Sandman honestly I loved that show too I was so hyped when Death and Despair popped up
I’ll def update this list on my rewatch but pls pls reblog with ur own favourite details so I can look for them!!!

gnc and butch women (cis AND trans) and transmascs are punished for performing masculinity past certain thresholds of arbitrary attractiveness because people that cishet society categorizes or clocks as 'women' are not supposed to perform masculinity. hope this helps 👍

I love how in just about every piece of fan art I see of Dead Boy Detectives I can see that the artist made sure to draw Charles with Jayden’s lovely ears ❤️
Also I am declaring myself as Jayden’s number 1 ear appreciator/admirer/fan 👂🏼❤️

Another Thai actor, Turbo Chanokchon Boonmanawong (along with his brother Fourwheels Chayanond) has come forward on his instagram with a statement alluding to potential mismanagement by his former agency. You might know Turbo from Nitiman and Love Stage!! where he was paired up with Kaownah Kittipat. The brothers have since joined a new agency, so Turbo's statement is likely due to him wanting a fresh start and officially breaking ties with his old company.
Hello, I'm Turbo. Please allow me to clarify the following.
The main reason for leaving the previous agency was that there was almost no work available. Sometimes, there was only one job per month, and I was not allowed to take on other work. As a result, I did not have enough income to live on. After we parted ways, the previous agency frequently posted about us on social media, sometimes using harsh language and mentioning people around us, which led to misunderstandings and damaged our reputation.
We also learned that for some jobs we had completed, the original agency claimed there was no compensation, but later we found out that the employer had already paid. This situation arose probably due to Bo's negligence, trusting verbal promises without any written contract.
Please consider this matter closed. From now on, Turbo and Fourwheels will have no involvement with the original agency. Any further issues will be handled by the camp, and Bo will not post anything else about this.
Bo will continue to work hard. Thank you, everyone, for your support and trust. Please continue to follow the work of Turbo and Fourwheels in the future. Thank you all for listening and understanding.
(*I've had this auto-translated but checked it against other fan translations so it should be fairly accurate.)
Sadly, I don't know what company he used to be with but apparently he didn't even have a proper written contract. He wasn't given enough work while at the same time he was forbidden from taking other jobs to supplement his income. He also mentions not being paid. And after he left, the company then actively badmouthed him while still using his name. Just lovely.
I really hope their new company treats them better and gives them proper work because they're both cuties and (from what I can tell from their ig) extremely hard-working.
Another Thai BL actor (was it Perth Nakhun?) recently said that actors do read their contracts before signing but here that's obviously not the case. The blame still lies with the company because this is blatant exploitation and mismanagement of (often inexperienced) artists. Any professional talent agency wouldn't have oral contracts in the first place.

Okay so I know the whole “apes on a horse, behaving like humans” sounds goofy but I'm gonna be honest and say that I'm so impressed with how thoughtful these movies are and how they've explored the concept with Rise and the sequels following it. Kingdom just renewed by admiration. Like I love how each character and this new world is established.
Also I've seen some people say that the antagonist wasn't even that bad and okayy like sure Proximus might not have had a lot of screentime to be outrightly horrible but it's very obvious what he's doing. He calls himself the next Caesar but unlike Caesar who united apes so they can grow and thrive in time and build their own lifes, Proximus brutalizes and forces all apes to leave their homes, their traditions, their clans and everything that they've slowly built over the years, so they can be entirely “his” (as Noa's mother points out). He basically wants to create a giant cult-like kingdom where he is worshipped and all of them are his slaves. His wishes and ambitions are theirs, stripping them off any sense of individuality. Very similar to how it works even today.

NOTHING makes me feel as much like I might somehow be living in a different reality than everybody else than seeing the way some people talk about A Certain Specific Animated Webseries That I Like
"it has so many female characters and yet hates women" "it's terribly written" "it's a shambling corpse of what it once was" "how does it keep getting made" "nothing in it makes sense!" "it's completely shallow and exists only to service shipping"
I have NO EARTHLY CLUE how they are getting these things out of the incredibly well made science-fantasy epic I've been watching for the past decade

amazing how bg3's writing is really good and its s genuinely epic satisfying story and also it is kind of a generic save the world rpg fantasy story and it doesn't really do anything that new or groundbreaking. it's just good. it's not a story with like that much of a specific message or moral or controlling idea beyond a general theme of power/control/agency and the intense violation of it and overcoming that but it doesn't have anything exactly to say on that topic? but it still works

I did it boys, three weeks of feverishly thinking about him at work, 12 stickynotes, and a few hours of digitalization and he's alive! (Goofy Ahh Sidekick-)
And some bonus info! Because I do believe with my whole heart that Leon would dress up in that goofy lil wizard costume for his entire school career and then realize it was hella impractical last second and completely rebrand himself.
In the School Era doodles he's about 15-18, and his Pro Hero doodles are ages 19-??? (Whenever he retires or dies ig???)

Love that we're blaming Jane for Anne and the other men's deaths, she was a wild woman after all lol. Honestly though whenever I see that take I'm like how many deaths are we now allowed to lay at Anne and Elizabeth's feet? All those people that refused to sign the oath of succession?
you see, it’s different, because one was judicial murder to facilitate a regime change and the other was legal execution where the forced submission to a regime change failed. very different!

they really went from makoto having her own agency in y0 and not standing for the men around her doing stuff to her or for her (including majima) to haruka being put into a coma for most of y6 and not having any agency as to the stuff that unfolds
i am ripping shit with my mouth like a feral wolf
they could've written this shit better, then y6 could've been so much more than what it is
