I find it extremely disrespectful to make up fan work in an unfinished work. and I don't mean unfinished as in a purposeful narrative break, like a pause in the airing of a season or the end of a volume with a form or another of cliffhanger. I love fan work, ocs, fan art and fanfic, discussions and theories but there is a way to be respectful about it. you can't just make up stuff and spread your theories or beliefs about a work that has yet to finish as if they were truth. you can't treat small artist who want to share genuine work like you do big ass series franchise who usually care more about money that anything else out there.

this post is about Yaelokre an artist you can stream on probably any platform (I use Spotify), small artist with only four songs currently released with a budding lore around their work. the lore is still rather mysterious and Im personally excited to see where this is going and hear more of their work but the artist themselves said that they has yet to release anything of importance about the world and lore their songs are about. yet, as TikTok gave them a huge push in popularity extremely fast (which is great because what we've seen of them is truly excellent and they deserve to have that recognised) many people are making up systems and spreading misinformation about their work and not waiting for the artist to share anything first. its like you opened harry potter volume one and decided to make up fan work after closing the book once Hagrid says "you're a wizard"(fuck JKR, i hâte her, but I felt like the example would be the most comprehensible here). it's incredibly disrespectful of the work the artist is putting in. at least wait until they share something more before going and pushing ideas left and right. I've seen so much misinformation, opposite views of the potential lore, etc, while the artist is explicitly saying there is not much shared yet on Twitter. let them cook, be respectful, don't destroy what is excellent because you cannot be patient and discover it as it is meant to be, when it is meant to be.
