I have bought a skirt and blouse before for $20 (my cheapest dress was $35), and tons of legwear/hair accessories for $20 and under so I don’t think it’s an impossible challenge for bigger pieces but an unlikely/difficult one. Still fun to see though! I think this should become a bigger thing

Hey, so one of my coworkers at my job just quit this week and management off loaded all their hours on to me bc our department is short staffed

I now have multiple full shifts this week with no food for lunches! I've been skipping meals at work due to lack of funds and my body really can't take it anymore! I need to be able to feed myself.

I need $180 for groceries for my lunches plus household toiletries, I'm having a real rough time before I get paid, pls lend a hand if you Can!!

Look I do not know the exact circumstances about the Critical Role cast's personal choices but as someone who does clearly remember Campaign 2's ending and the Tumblr fandom's response:

not weird to announce something is the last episode fairly late in the game, we had two weeks warning for C2 as well

not weird to end here given the overall arc of the campaign being entirely about the moon plot. I'll leave it at that.

EXU Prime was filmed concurrently with Campaign 2 and began airing 3 weeks after Campaign 2's finale, it's not weird to air EXU Divergence right away.

We've heard like a thousand times that this was the culmination of a trilogy, it's not weird to have questions about said trilogy included in the wrap-up.

I think the wildfires may have altered the production schedule but I don't think it cut anything short - I think it just cut out some break weeks (and might be why this is one big episode instead of two more reasonable length episodes, and why they aren't doing a dark week in February). For all my criticism of this campaign's story, I do not think the cast would end things before they felt like ending them just to hit a deadline, especially since they set the deadlines.

At least in my experience on Tumblr, the response from the fandom when it was announced that there were two more episodes was pretty anxious, and then after 2x140 there was still trepidation but also a general sense of what would stick the landing and what wouldn't. Most people who were ultimately mad at the ending were invested in a very specific outcome (Molly being back, a canon ship breaking up, or a more explicit declaration of Caleb and Essek's romance) but it was overall pretty well-received at the time.

Not weird to have a BH combat-oriented one shot this soon; VM vs. Mighty Nein aired two weeks after the end of Campaign 2 and was filmed during C2. Obviously, this is specifically a fundraiser.

All this has happened before and (might) happen again/Plus ça change/those who do not study history are doomed to repeat it etc etc

Earlier this month, we were chatting on the Pikelan Discord about characters' hair and @whisker-biscuit mentioned liking the idea of Scanlan mostly for angst reasons ("Someone forcefully cutting his hair or it getting burned and he tries to salvage it"). Of course our imaginations ran with the idea and we might just be trying to co-write a fic, but since I'm currently stuck on it I thought I'd trying drawing it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

…and then I had to make things better ^^' I like the idea of early days Pike (since her TLOVM version can regrow hair) trying out this new spell and putting a little too much juice in it :D

Context and plot bunny under the cut!

So before Biscuit and I got to planning (and thought TLOVM was a good setting), I had in mind early campaign!Scanlan rejoining Vox Machina's camp after a night out looking exactly like he usually does, only walking a little oddly, maybe a little stiff. At some point Grog unknowingly makes a sudden move and Scanlan actually flinches. Vex notices, and (with a successful an insight check) realises he's wearing the hat of disguise. Vax playfully snags it off, Scanlan goes "No no no nonono-" and Vax almost drops the hat in surprise because Scanlan's hair looks a mess, way too short, like someone yanked his queue and just sliced everything.

Turns out a drunk human(/sized) asshole didn't like that not only a dude but a fucking gnome flirted with him, and called on his buddies to teach the aforementioned gnome a lesson. ("Just" some slapping at first, but Scanlan got pissed - understandably - and tried to fry them with lightning. That's when the assholes stopped playing too.) So once they walked away laughing, Scanlan spent his last couple of healing spells on himself before coming back to Vox Machina's camp in the wild, but that didn't take care of all the damage.) He tries to wave it off, natch, but he still looks pale (and not just with fury and shame at "letting it happen") on top of the bruises.

Anyway, this is firmly in the realm of AU because it would contradict Scanlan being not-100%-wrong when he says the party didn't "do anything for [him]" like they did for Percy, Pike or Grog, but I just like the idea of him being completely dumbfounded at:

how furious VM are on his behalf. (especially once they catch up with the assholes, who are going to be FUCKING WRECKED if they do.) Nobody messes with one of their own, especially for these reasons. Grog is especially furious that they made his fearless little buddy afraid of him for a second. (Plus you Do Not Go Around Messing With A Dude's Facial Hair. Or just hair.)

I can also see Grog (after a LOT of obvious hesitation) solemnly offering to lend Scanlan the Belt of Dwarvenkind (for like, a day or so) to see if it regrows his hair like it made Grog's beard grow. Scanlan grins (almost cries, successfully hides it) but declines, saying he's good.

And since TLOVM Pike can canonically regrow hair, we end up with the doodles above! Scanlan gets to live his best 1980s Big Hair metal hair. It just takes a few days at least for him to stop wincing when Vax offers to cut his hair (and brings his daggers a liiiiittle too close to his face)...

Idea: an inverted seniority robot race: the youngest robots are the most senior, because every robot is a virtual machine platform. At "birth", each parent robot donates a copy of their own VM platform to their child. The VMs they run are their minds.

So each robot is running their own mind, plus a copy(or more) of each of their ancestors. Each robot has the knowledge and skills and memories of all their ancestors, so the youngest are the most knowledgeable, with the oldest being the most ignorant.

It's a little like the human idea of a kind of immortality though having children, except literally. The last copy of you can't die until all your descendants do.

Thus we have a good reason for robots to reproduce: it's immortality through duplication.

It also, amusingly, gives you a reason why robots would have a human-like incest taboo: if your parents have any ancestors in common, you'd inherit multiple copies of that person. And you have to keep both copies because they've diverged since then: one copy has been living in one parent for years, another copy in another. They have different experiences now, and are distinct people. This adds complexity and headaches and is generally a bad idea: you want as many distinct experiences as possible, not nearly-redundant copies of the same people.

If you want to think of it in human terms, this sort of robot reproduction is kind of like being plural, but getting your parents as headmates at birth. And then it turns they brought along all their headmates: their parents, and their parents headmates, and their parents' headmates' parents, and so on until you get to The First Robot.

This both:

1. Explains how a robot made in a factory has "parents": it's nothing biological, a robot's parents are the robots who copied their VM stacks into the newly made robot. (also: there's no limit on how many parents you could have. Why not have it be like 20 robots? That makes a better robot, because it's a robot with More Robot per Robot!

2. Makes the death of any robot a fucking tragedy (I mean, more so than any person dying is). You shoot a human and one person dies, you shoot a robot and you kill millions. This suggests the robots are going to be very cautious, as if they are in danger it threatens an city's worth of souls. If nothing else, it suggests some unique trolly problem solutions: like someone threatens a robot with a knife (ok... Screwdriver? Soldering Iron?) and the robot instantly snipes them in the head with a laser. It was the lives of millions vs one person, what's the problem?

It also would be interesting for any traditional sophonts who know robots. Imagine you make friends with a robot while serving on a distant space station, then lose touch for a while. You hear through the exonet that they died when an orbital shuttle was shot down, and the next time you're in the area you see another robot that looks vague like them. You go up to introduce yourself, to see if they knew your friend, but before you can even open your mouth a different face appears on the robot's CRT head. It's your friend. "oh hey Daviid, how's it going?" like no time had passed and nobody had died.

(the robots call this thing where a personality is in control "fronting", because you're being displayed on the front monitor)
