Here’s some further nuance on what’s happened here:
Misha got hate and was called a liar and called disrespectful and rude for highlighting a very real systemic issue in linear broadcast TV that isn’t only at the CW, and has been an issue for decades, concerning how networks, not just the CW, put caps on representation. Even when there is other representation, the mentality is still repressive. You can have this much representation and no more. He spoke up at a con OUSA where filming of panels isn’t allowed.
Jared gets treated like a hero for having a public, high profile tantrum on one of the biggest entertainment news media outlets to call out CW Nexstar for retooling their business model to become like all the other linear broadcast TV networks. Where CW has sports and game shows and there’s a highly strict bottom line concerning profitability. This is common practice for ABC, NBC, CBS, Fox. Old CW was never a “real” linear broadcast model in the first place. WB/Viacom (CBS) made money off streaming not CW broadcast. Nielsen numbers never mattered there as much as the profits they made from streaming. The netflix deal is the actual reason CW stayed alive, not Jared.
Not that CW Nexstar didn’t create its own problems. In the course of their goals to become a profitable network and trying to be just like the big boys, they went so draconian, cut so down to the bone, they burned off bankable talents and good shows. Because their per ep licensing fee caps were so strict. But there is nothing shocking about the business remodel.
It’s weird. That is just plain weird that Jared is treated as the hero and a revolutionary while Misha gets hate and called a liar while people ignore how much bolder Misha’s criticism of the system actually is. Jared goes off about stuff the CW Nexstar president himself has said in countless interviews. Publicly acceptable, public knowledge. Whereas Misha’s sting at linear broadcast censorship and caps on representation is one of those things nobody is supposed to talk about. While I’m fairly sure Misha shouldn’t care about alienating the CW Nexstar any more, systemically, Misha stuck his neck out more, as carefully as he could. Jared’s tantrum isn’t speaking on any forbidden subject the system would like silenced, it’s him reacting to obvious and self-declared business remodeling.
These things are not the same.

20th Century Studios-90 Years of Unforgettable Characters Tribute
Since I already did my 90 Years of 20th Century Studios pic(my special take on the famous art-deco logo with the searchlights forming a 90 in the sky, similar to Fox’s 75th Anniversary variant in 2010) three days ago on May 31st(the day the studio was founded 90 years ago). I started making and drew another pic for 20th Century Studios’(formally 20th Century Fox) 90th Anniversary, this time a huge group pic showing many of the characters(both animated and live-action) that the studio had given us over the years and those I’ve grown up with and known about in a huge anniversary tribute drawing(similar to the ones I did for Nick in 2024 for it’s 45th Anniversary and for Warner Bros and Disney for their 100th Anniversaries in 2023).
So,here is a special 90th anniversary group pic featuring most of the characters from their films, cartoons, and television shows Fox has given us over the years, some of which I picked and while many were some of my favorites growing up such as:
-The Fox Fox(the mascot of Fox Kids who appeared in several 90's bumpers for Fox Kids,he is featured on the front. Also, before Disney acquired the Fox Kids library in 2001,right before buying Fox in 2019,20th Century-Fox used to own Fox Kids and was the children's block for the Fox television network(originally owned by 20th Century Fox,but now spunoff into it's own thing in 2019 as Fox Corporation),since they produced several kids shows under the Fox's Childrens Productions/Fox Kids Worldwide unit such as Bobby's World,Digimon-Digital Monsters,Peter Pan and The Pirates, and Eek! The Cat).
-Kevin McCallister(Home Alone franchise).
-The Xenomorph(the creature from the Alien franchise)
-Predator
-Cornelius(Planet of The Apes franchise)
-Neytiri(Avatar movies)
-Mighty Mouse and Heckle and Jeckle(Terrytoons, the reason I featured them as part of the pic cause before CBS Films(later known as Viacom and Paramount Global)bought the studio in 1955,Fox was the main distributor and original force behind the original Terrytoons shorts).
-Homer and Bart Simpson(The Simpsons)
-Louise Belcher(Bob's Burgers)
-Stewie Griffin(Family Guy)
-Eek! The Cat
-Bobby Generic(Bobby's World)
-Olive(Olive The Other Reindeer)
-Bender(Futurama)
-Ron(Ron's Gone Wrong)
-Raggedy Ann and Andy(Raggedy-Ann and Andy: A Musical Adventure)
-Mr.Fox(Fantastic Mr. Fox)
-Lance Sterling(Spies In Disguise)
-Horton the Elephant(Dr. Suess' Horton Hears A Who!)
-Snoopy(The Peanuts Movie)
-Scrat(Ice Age franchise)
-Rodney Copperbottom(Robots)
-Anastasia
-Maria(The Book of Life)
-C-3PO and R2-D2(Star Wars franchise,I find it funny since before Disney bought Fox in 2019,they bought the rights to the Star Wars franchise and Lucasfilm in 2012,since Fox originally distributed and co-produced the first 6 Star Wars films).
-Buffy The Vampire Slayer
-Batty Koda(Ferngully:The Last Rainforest)
-Bartok(Anastasia and Bartok The Magnificent)
-Hank Hill(King of The Hill)
-Deadpool
-Wolverine/Logan(X-Men films/Deadpool and Wolverine)
-Pupa(Solar Opposites)
-Greg Heffley(The Diary of A Wimpy Kid film trilogy)
-Necron 99/Peace(Wizards)
-Roger the Alien(American Dad)
-Blu(Rio)
I also included the logos to 20th Century Pictures,Inc. and Fox Film Corporation(two of 20th Century Studios' predecessors)and 20th Century-Fox(the original name for the studio, before after the Disney acquisition in 2019,it got renamed to 20th Century Studios),as well as the logos for The X-Files(Fox's hit science fiction series and one of their biggest TV hits) and The Fantastic Four(which Fox produced the 2005 film(and it's 2007 sequel) and later,a failed 2015 reboot, but now,Marvel Studios is bringing and rebooting the Fantastic Four into the MCU with a new film coming out next month,"The Fantastic Four:First Steps".)
Thanks for giving us a nearly a century of groundbreaking films, unforgettable characters, iconic moments, and contributing to the world of enterainment,20th Century Studios! Even if you got bought and your now under Disney now since 2019,you're still doing great and still remaining active, producing more box-office hits and making great films to this day, even doing better than what your sister studio was doing at the time(Disney with it's live-action remakes of it's original animated films and it's own Hollywood studio and Pixar now producing sequels and prequels combined with originals). I hope you do more great with Predator-Badlands and Avatar:Fire and Ash coming out later this year and your TV units(20th Television and it's TV animation unit producing adult animated shows such as The Simpsons,Family Guy,American Dad,Bob's Burgers,Solar Opposites,The Great North, and Futurama, with a King of The Hill revival coming out on Hulu on Augest 4th this year)are also doing great under Disney as well.

Thanks for the explanation about Walker. I hate that it comes down to things totally outside our reach, like the ego of executives wanting to squeeze a few more dollars from a multi-million dollar deal. // Jared, the cast, and crew were great at keeping the budget lean. Fans are doing ok with numbers, though more is always better. However, we cannot control the boy bosses in charge if they want to measure (redacted) I hope they come to an agreement that's fair to all.
There’s really nothing fans can do other than just be fans by watching the show, buy the dvd, and maybe go to a convention or two.
Sometimes a well watched show still gets cancelled for events beyond anyone’s control.  For example, Star Trek: Enterprise got cancelled despite a passionate fanbase and good ratings.  VIACOM split and CBS Studios becoming the sole owner of the entire Star Trek franchise, this is why we have the Kelvin Timeline starting with Jar Jar Abram’s Star Trek: 2009 because Paramount/VIACOM lost the right to make any new Star Trek movies without becoming a Licensee to CBS Studios and having to pay them to make any movie, and CBS didn’t want them playing around in the Prime Timeline.  CBS Studios CEO was Les Moonves and he hated science fiction and didn't want the CBS Network associated with anything science fiction so he brought the axe down on Star Trek: Enterprise and cancelled it.
