I would pay all the money I have (which is not much but you get what I mean) to have a scene in Star Trek 4 where they rescue a stranded ship with a bunch of Vulkan children on board (maybe headed to New Vulcan idk) and Spock sees how scared and sad they are (because well their planet is now a handful of space rubble and maybe some of their parents are gone now) so he just starts showing them around the Enterprise to cheer them up a little because Vulcan children are nothing but curious. And suddenly efficiency plummets and nothing gets done anymore because there's a First Officer surrounded by a group of tiny somber children calmly explaining to them how a starship works and no one can focus on their work anymore. Just imagine Spock showing them the bridge and answering their questions with endless patience and Jim just cannot stop smiling because of how darn cute it is. Bones is unable to pick his jaw off the floor when they ask to see the medbay. Sulu almost flies them into an asteroid because he is unable to cope with this level of cuteness. Scotty lets them pick apart a tricorder or two while on the verge of tears.
Bonus points if their Vulcan teachers or caretakers or whatever ask Spock to back off because they consider him a bad example (because of the stunt he pulled in front of VSA) and the crew gets a very uncomfortable glimpse of the way Spock is/was perceived back on Vulcan. Which causes them to Lose Their Shit (tm) in a very polite manner and leads to a very exasperated Spock wondering why he suddenly gets showered with praise everywhere he goes
#spock#star trek aos#i want it so much#just spock being a role model to a bunch of curious children#and everybody else dying of cuteness overload

OC- Lyra/T’Lyra
As a human: she’s raised in a mixed community on earth where she is influenced by many earth and alien cultures that have settled in the big city she grew up in. She attended inner city public schools for her entire education which gave her a quick eye for social cues and how to avoid a fight and tread carefully. Despite not going to the most prestigious schools as a child, the education system overall in the world has improved in the 2300s allowing for personalized courses and access to higher learning methods with better ease. It many not be on the same level as the Vulcan learning pods, but Lyra advances through courses and finds her way through math and science much faster than her peers, somewhat of a prodigy. She begins computer science and engineering courses as soon as they are available to her and finds her niche in theoretical transwarp physics as a junior in high school. She begins to research and learn all she can about the subject and explore all she can. Eventually, this curiosity leads to questions about the impact of warp on life and her interests turn back to the blue sciences rather than the reds of engineering. By the time she enters Starfleet to conduct further research (because every one of the best papers she’s read has come either from the VSA or a tenured Starfleet officer) she is ready to do whatever it takes to find the answers to all her burning questions about space travel. How to improve it, how it changes humanity, what it means to be human, what it means to be alien, what it means to be from somewhere at all. She wants to expand the known universe and her mind - to confront the stars and herself among them as she ventures into the great unknown.
As a Vulcan/Human hybrid: she’s raised on Vulcan until it is destroyed when she is six. She remembers the day clearly with her eidetic memory. Her family was together in a park in ShiKahr when the attack started and when the evacuation began, they were able to board a shuttle and get off planet safely. They became some of the only surviving Vulcans. Post-destruction of Vulcan, T’Lyra and her family moved to earth, her father’s home world (her mother being her Vulcan parent). Despite growing up mostly on earth, her family lives nearby the Vulcan embassy and her mother is very devoted to retaining her Vulcan roots, especially in light of the destruction of Vulcan. T’Lyra does her best to emulate her mother in every way, including being as Vulcan as she can be, despite her red blood and how tempting it is to smile or blush or tuck her hair behind her ear and respond to the social cues of the human boys around her as she ages. Her mother has less difficulty conceiving a human child than Amanda did conceiving a Vulcan child, and T’Lyra has a younger brother, V’Luk who was born after the family arrived on earth. Her brother is much more human in his tendencies than she is, though she does all she can to encourage him to act in the Vulcan way. They are both more biologically human than Vulcan, somewhere around 60% Vulcan in large part due to their blood being human rather than the green of a Vulcan, though their hearts are still located where they would be on a Vulcan. It seems that though there are now more Vulcan/human hybrids, the data does not help cross-case. Even the siblings are dissimilar to each other in their biology in some ways that make their health distinctive. As T’Lyra gets older, she goes to school with the other Vulcan children who stay on earth at the embassy. She spends her life looking up to Commander Spock who was part of the command team to save the Vulcan high council and Earth from its destruction and who is notably one of the only other Vulcan/human hybrids. Inspired by his efforts in Starfleet, she makes strides to follow his path and join Starfleet someday.
Process/Results:
I started initially just wanting to do a Starfleet officer, hence Lyra. Then I decided to see how the ai could handle a Vulcan with the ears and all. It did not do well with prompts to copy Spock’s facial pattern or Vulcan ears. It struggled with the idea of Vulcan eyebrows and I gave up. I eventually had to use a prompt with elf ears instead, which is why the shape is off - not quite to my liking but close enough when given context. I realized halfway through that Vulcans have green blood and Lyra had a red blush so I tried some prompts to see if I could get a green tinge to the skin instead and…. AI was super confused and only did like one slightly correct generation of the prompt. AI still struggles with fantastical ideas. It can do normal skin tones, but not odd ones. Maybe it doesn’t have any samples of that? Makes sense if it doesn’t have access to that kind of imaginative art to sample.

Something to get off my chest: I will never understand the general fandom interpretation of Sarek and Amanda. Yes, Sarek failed quite a few times at being a father, but he wasn't a horrible abusive dad. Amanda wasn't the perfect mother either, she had all the same faults he did, honestly probably more.
Neither of them were prepared to raise a half-human half-vulcan child. They obviously never discussed it, and all it ever did was leave me severely isolated, confused, and angry. They raised me in a city where it wasn't safe at all to express anything (they didn't even have to leave Vulcan! There were other, less traditionalist areas!!) but still my mother acted sad when I wasn't human enough for her. They always gave conflicting advice and tried to raise me in two different ways so I felt like any answer I picked would be the wrong one. "Child of two worlds" was only because they made it that way. It didn't have to be.
My father was angry when I left for Starfleet after everything I had worked towards for the VSA, but I had to just get out and figure out life for myself. If I stayed I would have drowned. And my mother was so happy because she thought I was choosing to be more human, like I was going to throw my culture away, like it wasn't a part of me. It took me so many years to find myself and untangle the web they had unintentionally made.
They loved each other, they both loved me, and they were both probably doing what they thought was best. I just wish they had agreed on what the best was before I was born.

Another question about a vampire trait that's actually very common: Do you have faster-than-normal healing? Actually, that's a lycanthrope trait too, so Traveller can answer too :)
Faster-than-normal can mean anywhere from slightly faster to nigh-instant depending on the story
-vsa
I do heal very quickly! The speed at which I heal depends on a few things. Healing instantly ist a very large use of energy, the only way to offset the energy loss ist… consumption. Blood ist fuel in an almost literal sense that way. I need it much the same way a car needs gasoline.
-Vladamir
Ohhh okayso yeah I do heal kinda fast! Notas wquick as Vladamir orangthing but its still prettuy fast! A small cut can disappear completely in like 45 minutes :D

THIS. THIS IS WHAT ITS ALL ABOUT. Spock's desire for emotional control does not conform to the same societal assumptions that underlying emotions and "urges" must be inherently violent, domineering, angry, or unjust. Spock's driving force and greatest insecurity is the love he carries for those around him and his awe and wonder towards the universe.
He sought out Starfleet over the VSA because of his sorrow towards never fitting in (and on that note, he never fit in because he wept too easily, he loved his childhood pet too visibly, he could not help but care openly. all these things violated the higher standard he was held to in proving he belonged to the place he was born), not just some shallow teenage angst.
He is truly passionate about science and data- things that seem cold or barren to others- and on top of that he loves the natural world, showing great care and empathy for the Horta (except for when Jim's life was briefly at stake) and proclaiming his surprise and excitement towards so many of the anomalies the Enterprise encounters even when they are dangerous.
He does not punish T'Pring with a bond when his victory in the contest would have given him that right, rather he allows her to go with Stonn.
He is the one to seek V'ger's pain, to weep for it- that destroyer of worlds, and in V'ger's questions he expresses that his answer is his love for Jim.
Spock's love for Sybok overcomes even his loyalty to Jim, for he will not kill his brother.
The one instance in which Spock is shown to be carrying anger, it is when the woman in which he placed his trust in succeeding him carries out a betrayal of the universal peace he holds dear. Spock takes that anger out through the forced meld with Valeris- which in the novelization of the movie is described as him opening his vulnerabilities and sorrows to her and begging her to open up to him with the information he needs. (I will say how it is shown in the movie itself does seem to be an extreme breach of character and ethics, but also exceedingly painful for him as he acknowledges that.)
Spock's character is repressed, yes, but that repression is driven by a compassion for the universe around him that could not be contained by his homeworld- it is not driven by Western machismo.
I’m gonna go ahead and be a film snob and talk about why this is one of my favorite shots from TOS. (I could also say that it’s one of my favorite scenes, because the entire scene actually consists of a single shot.)
We don’t see a lot of bald expressions of emotion in film and television, especially if that emotion is fear or sadness or vulnerability. Dramas will give us some tears, but they always cut a way after a few seconds because a closeup of someone crying is deeply uncomfortable and most movies and TV shows aren’t in the business of making their audiences uncomfortable. It just doesn’t sell well.
But in this scene the camera never looks away. It follows Spock as he sits down at the table, and it circles him as he cries. But there are no cuts. We don’t even get music to create some distance, make it all a little more palatable; we just hear sobs and mumbled math equations.
It’s absolutely excrutiating. It would be excruciating no matter who we were watching, because we are so unaccustomed to seeing unadulterated emotion. And then there’s the fact that it’s a man. And that it’s Spock.
Fifty years later and this is still one of the most daring filmmaking decisions I’ve ever seen on TV (I of course can’t be exactly sure who made it, but I’m assuming it was the director of the episode, Marc Daniels). This shot lasts 1 minute and 45 seconds. We’re in the middle of space and in the middle of a high-stakes episode where the crew is going crazy and the ship is going to blow up or some shit and everyone’s lives are in danger, but we pause 1 minute and 45 seconds to have an uncomfortably human moment with an alien who doesn’t even want to be human, and it’s so awful and amazing.

VS AMBIVALENZ 2nd ; EP.3 Kratzspuren of Light MIDDLE PART [ENG Translation]

video form on youtube | official vsa channel’s video
All sensitive material will be cut in a flash! I’m Cut-kun! The footage will get distorted sometimes! At your service!
Taiyo: Woah, the photo turned out great!
Taiyo: That’s it! Dismissed!
Everyone: …
Taiyo: Nothing!?
Subaru: Huh?
Taiyo: Isn’t somebody gonna ask if I really just came here to take a photo?!
Subaru: Ah, yes.
Subaru: I’m still not so good at this kind of thing… I apologize.
Hiromi: I’m sorry. We still haven’t decided on who will be playing the straight man either…
Hiromi: We embarrassed our seniors…
Taiyo: No, no! I’ll feel bad if you apologize!!
Taiyo: Also, Subaru, you’re just fine the way you are.
Kyouya: The straight man… I don’t think I can help with that…
Meguru: Shall I lend a hand, then?
Shimba: Nah, it’s my moment to shine! You’re in good hands with me!
Mikera: I’m sorry for saying this even though we haven’t spoken much, but I don’t think either of you is fit for this.
Cate: Cate will—
Hiromi: You definitely won’t do either, so don’t worry about it.
Cate: Ghh!
Akashi: Um!
Akashi: May we return to the conversation at hand? We don’t have all day.
Cate: Dan-dada-daaan!
Cate: Akashi-kun! Doing things all proper, such a good guy!
Akashi: It is only natural.
Subaru: Our conversation got derailed, didn’t it. We’re here as mentors to help you all overcome your first task.
Taiyo: Today we’re just here to introduce ourselves, but tomorrow we’ll tell you all about the task.
Taiyo: I bet you’re probably nervous ‘cause of all the people you just met, but we’ll do our best to back you all up, so let’s do our best together starting tomorrow!
Everyone: ...
Taiyo: Huhh?
Subaru: It seems like everyone is still a bit confused.
Taiyo: It sure seems like it…
Subaru: Let’s make a bit of time after this.
Subaru: Please feel free to come ask us about anything if you’re feeling worried about life here at the Internat.
ー
Akashi: Subaru-san, may I have a minute?
Mikera: I have some questions I want to ask you too.
Cate: Cate too!
Subaru: Sure, I’ll answer them in order then.
Akashi: Thank you very much. It is an honor to hear what XlamV’s Subaru-san has to say.
Akashi: According to my calculations, your average speed for learning dance choreography is 3.6%.
Akashi: Your speed for learning musical scores is a fast 4.7%.
Akashi: As to be expected of the legendary trainee himself.
Hiromi: Things are pretty rough over there…
Hiromi: Shimba-kun, can I talk to you for a minute?
Shimba: What’s up, Old Guy!
Hiromi: …It’s Hiromi.
Hiromi: I’d like you to come with me to ask Taiyo-san some questions.
Shimba: Why?
Hiromi: Subaru-san’s the only one being flooded with questions. It’s rude that nobody’s gone over to Taiyo-san.
Shimba: That so? Doesn’t he seem pretty unbothered, though?
Hiromi: He looks happy eating those snacks, but I’m sure that deep down, he’s not having fun. Trust my office worker experience on this one.
Hiromi: C’mon, let’s go.
Hiromi: Um, Taiyo-san.
Taiyo: Hmn?
Taiyo: Oh, do you two want some cookies too?
Hiromi: N-No, we’re okay. We have something we’d like to ask you.
Taiyo: Ask me!?
Taiyo: Wahh, I’m so happy! I kinda feel all senior-y! I might not have a good answer, but ask me anything!
Hiromi: S-So bright…
Shimba: Now that’s a man like the sun!
Taiyo: What did you want to ask?
Hiromi: Huh? U-Umm… What was it, Shimba-kun?
Shimba: Me?
Hiromi: Sorry… I didn’t have anything in mind.
Shimba: I see…
Shimba: So, Taiyo, I heard you lost the audition…
Hiromi: Ahh! Hold on, maybe you should ask something different!
Shimba: Huh?
Taiyo: It’s okay!
Taiyo: It’s true that I lost, but at the same time, I think there’s things I can answer because of that!
Shimba: You’re a straightforward and nice guy, aren’t ya? I like you!
Shimba: Looking forward to workin’ with you!
Taiyo: Yeah, me too!
Hiromi: I’m just… I’m really sorry!
ー
Kyouya: A-Ah… What should I do…
Meguru: What’s wrong, timid child?
Kyouya: It’s… Kyouya…
Kyouya: Um… I feel like I have to ask a question too…
Kyouya: Meguru-san, you’re not gonna go over?
Meguru: All things that happen in our world are all trivial.
Kyouya: …Huh?
Meguru: If you’ve got time to find yourself at a loss, shouldn’t you just hurry on over there?
Kyouya: But, leaving my rival here like this…
Monet: It’s a bit strange, isn’t it…
Kyouya: Oh, he woke up…
Meguru: What is it that’s so strange?
Monet: The two oranges.
Riam & Luvnosuke: ……
Meguru: Hum. That is indeed peculiar.
Kyouya: Huh? What is?
Meguru: Ainosuke claims to be a fan of these two, yet he is far too quiet.
Meguru: Riam has also not spoken quite as much ever since our mentors arrived.
Monet: Mhm, it’s strange, isn’t it?
Kyouya: You’re right…
Kyouya: I mean, even though you were sleeping, you know everything that’s happened.
Monet: Maybe those two…
Monet: Zz… zzz…
Kyouya: H-Huh!? D-Don’t fall asleep at the important part!
Riam & Luvnosuke: ……
Riam: You’re not gonna go ask a question?
Luvnosuke: Could ask you the same.
Riam: I…
Subaru: Hello.
Taiyo: You’re Ainosuke and Riam, right?
Riam & Luvnosuke: ……
Subaru: I heard that this is your second time taking part in the VS AMBIVALENZ audition, Riam.
Subaru: I’m sure you know the general flow of things from watching the Documentary Drama, but is there anything you’re worried about?
Taiyo: You too, Ainosuke, if there’s anything you wanna ask or are worried about…
Luvnosuke: Thanks for worrying about me, but I’m fine.
Riam: I’m good, you don’t have to worry ‘bout me.I’ve got nothing I wanna ask or that I’m worried about.
Subaru & Taiyo: ……
Taiyo: I see, that’s good, then.
Subaru: Yeah.
ー
Shimba: Alright, all I gotta do is cut this, right! I got this!
Hiromi: Stoooop! Hold on! Hold it properly! You’ll lose a finger!
Akashi: Add two tablespoons of sugar and…
Akashi: 1/4 of a teaspoon…
Akashi: Yes! The measurements are perfect!
Hiromi: Stoooop! That’s salt, not sugar!
Monet: Cracking the eggs, yes?
Monet: Crack them here… Into the… bowl…
Monet: Zz… zz…
Hiromi: Stoooop! Don’t fall asleep! The eggs will fall!
Hiromi: *Sob*... Why is this happening to me…
Shimba: The miso soup you made looks great, Hiromi!
Akashi: It can even be said that the miso soup is the only thing that looks good to eat.
Monet: Zz… zzz…
ー
Everyone: *Sighs*...
Taiyo: Good work!
Subaru: Pardon us.
Taiyo: Did you guys finish your dinne… Huuuh!? You all look pale! You okay!?
Mikera: I’m… hungry…
Shimba: Can’t get any energy… From just miso soup…
ー
Taiyo: Subaru, can you pass me a plate?
Subaru: Sure. The salad’s all done.
Taiyo: Thanks!
Everyone: Wahhh…
Cate: Looks tasty!
Kyouya: Uwahh~… Dinner at last…
Taiyo: Eat up!
Everyone: Thanks for the food!
Mikera: So good…
Akashi: Thank you very much, you two!
Meguru: What a toothsome flavor.
Monet: Nom, nom…
Monet: Zz… zzz…
Monet: Nom, nom…
Kyouya: He’s eating in his sleep?
Subaru: Riam.
Riam: !
Subaru: How does it taste?
Riam: Not bad.
Subaru: Can I talk to you for a bit?
Riam: …What is it?
Subaru: Did we perhaps meet in season 1’s qualifying rounds?
Riam: !
Subaru: If I did something to offend you back then, I apologize.
Riam: You’re apologizing even though you don’t remember anything?
Subaru: ……
Riam: Don’t worry. I don’t remember a thing about you either.
Taiyo: You don’t like pancakes?
Luvnosuke: !
Taiyo: Oh, sorry. The pancakes were the only thing you didn’t touch, so I was thinking maybe you don’t like them.
Luvnosuke: ……
Taiyo: I couldn’t cook them at all when I first came here. But I’ve gotten a lot better, so I’m sure they’re tasty…
Luvnosuke: I know.
Taiyo: Huh?
Luvnosuke: That you burned your first pancakes, and that you got better little by little…
Luvnosuke: That you prefer bread in the mornings, and that you like karaage.
Luvnosuke: That you think Tuesday is the day to have ice cream as a snack. I know everything.
Luvnosuke: Trying to share trivia about the 1sts with me is laughable.
Taiyo: ……
Mikera: Hold up, Ainosuke!
Luvnosuke: Kidding!
Mikera: Huh?
Luvnosuke: It’s a joke, a joke. Don’t get all worked up.
Taiyo: Thanks.
Luvnosuke: Huh?
Taiyo: Oh, I was just happy that you were watching us so closely.
Taiyo: It got me thinking that maybe you’re my fan…
Luvnosuke: …!
Luvnosuke: You’re right…
Taiyo: Huh?
Luvnosuke: I…
Luvnosuke: used to be your fan.
ー
Luvnosuke: Ahhh! This sucks! Why did I say that! I’ve really done it now!
Luvnosuke: What to do, what to do…
Luvnosuke: If that scene gets broadcasted… I… I’m done for… Even though I want to win so badly…
Luvnosuke: Calm down… It’s okay… Cut-kun is here, so…
Luvnosuke: I don’t have to be scared!
Riam: What’re all these grimaces for?
Luvnosuke: !
Luvnosuke: Riam! Why are you here?
Riam: I couldn’t sleep, so I was just walking around. You too, what’re you doing?
Luvnosuke: Nothing… I was just doing my holy pilgrimage on my own.
Riam & Luvnosuke: ……
Luvnosuke: Hey, Riam.
Luvnosuke: Why are you snapping at XlamV’s Subaru so much?
Riam: And why are you snapping at fun4re’s Taiyo?
Luvnosuke: That’s…
Riam: …
Riam: *Beatboxing*
Riam: Here's a proposition for you, If you wanna show how you feel as much as I do.
Luvnosuke: What’s with you all of a sudden?
Riam: Let’s join forces.
Luvnosuke: HUH?
Riam: We’re gonna drive ‘em outta here.
Riam: Both of those guys.
ー
Taiyo: Your first task is for all 10 of you to sing an original song.
Subaru: The line division will be left up to you.
Shimba: Line division, you say…!
Monet: An audition amongst ourselves…
Subaru: Right. We’re thinking of having the audition a week from now.
Cate: The same as the first season!
Mikera: Yeah, just as I expected.
Akashi: Excuse me! I have a question!
Taiyo: Go for it, Akashi-kun!
Akashi: I recall Season 1 going straight into the audition, so why is it that it is postponed for one week this time?
Taiyo: Good question!
Akashi: Thank you very much!
Subaru: The means by which you will proceed with a task and how you will be supported through it has been left entirely up to the mentors who assigned you said task.
Subaru: Both of us thought it would be better to give you some more time before the audition.
Akashi: I see…
Taiyo: I’m sure that from now on, each mentor’s way of doing things will be different.
Taiyo: But don’t worry! We all thought about it really hard…
Riam: Hold up.
Subaru & Taiyo: ?
Riam: I’m against this.
Luvnosuke: Me too.
Taiyo: Huh…?
Kyouya: Against it… Why?
Subaru: Could you tell us your reasoning?
Luvnosuke: I’d like you to tell us something too. Why does it seem like you’re disavowing how things went in S1?
Taiyo: We’re not trying to disavow it!
Taiyo: We talked about it after reflecting on our own audition between ourselves, and we thought it’d be best if we did it after you all get used to living together here.
Luvnosuke: It’s exactly because you were worried about the others’ health and went out of your way to give the audition a second round that you ended up on the bottom.
Luvnosuke: Are you trying to do the same thing here?
Taiyo: …
Luvnosuke: That naive way of thinking is why you lost in the end!
Taiyo: !
Hiromi: Ainosuke-kun. You’re being way too rude.
Cate: Calm down… Cate will listen to anything you have to say…
Cate: Okay?
Taiyo: I…
Subaru: Apologize to him.
Taiyo: Subaru…
Subaru: Ainosuke. You’ve hurt my precious rival. I won’t tolerate any insult towards Taiyo.
Subaru: Apologize.
Taiyo: Subaru… I’m all good, really.
Riam: Heh… That’s the composure of a winner for ya.
Riam: Always worrying about other people, that’s sooo kind of you.
Subaru: …What are you trying to say?
Riam: Exactly what I said.
Mikera: We’re back in this awful atmosphere again… Why’re the orange pair lashing out at our seniors one after the other?
Mikera: I don’t get it.
Shimba: We’ve finally got a fight!
Meguru: The immaturity of youth… What a fresh thing it is.
Monet: Nothing to do about it…
Monet: Zzz…
Hiromi: How can you say something so carefree right now…?
Riam: Ainosuke and I both think that we don’t need mentors.
Subaru & Taiyo: !
Luvnosuke: What he said.
Luvnosuke: We can do everything ourselves, just like S1.
Luvnosuke: Riiight, guys?
Akashi: No, I’d like our seniors to advise us.
Cate: Cate too.
Hiromi: Me too.
Riam: It’s fine. You all have us.
Everyone: Huh?
Riam: Three days.
Riam: We’ll prove that we’re fine without you.
Riam: Not in a week, but three days. We’ll show you that we’re all in perfect shape.
Luvnosuke: If we do, then you candidates won’t have any complaints either, yeah?
Subaru & Taiyo: …

The Journey Through Business Identity and Reinvention
Business is rarely a straight road. Sometimes, you hit a crossroads, questioning everything you’ve built. 🚦 Over the last six months, I faced one of those moments, confronting a full-blown identity crisis. Let’s unpack the lessons learned and how clarity paved the way forward.
The Pivot Point
After five years of pouring my soul into my business, I realized something had to change. The rise of AI, shifts in marketing trends, and an explosion of content made me question: How do I stay relevant? How do I distinguish myself? 🤔
The answer wasn’t immediate. It took studying, reworking, and relentless trial and error. From tweaking lead forms to analyzing data, I found clarity in incremental steps. Progress doesn’t come all at once — it’s about consistency.
The Power of Reinvention
This year, we partnered with an innovative data group offering groundbreaking insights. Imagine receiving a report so detailed it tells you precisely where your audience lives online — from LinkedIn to whitepapers to VSAs. 📊 The results? Lower costs, higher ROI, and a targeted approach that feels almost too good to be true. Spoiler: It’s real, and it works.
This collaboration reminded me why I started: to innovate, connect, and bring value to others. 🧠💥
Holding the Line
One of the toughest lessons? Setting boundaries. In business, it’s tempting to say “yes” to everything, even when it stretches your capacity. Learning to draw the line — especially with difficult clients or unrealistic expectations — is key to protecting your time and sanity.
Saying “no” isn’t easy, but it’s necessary. It’s about aligning your work with your values and maintaining respect for your craft. 🙌

Is 15 Too Old to Start Training to Be a Baseball Player?
Star athletes often start playing and training in their sport at a young age. In fact, many players in the MLB picked up a bat or glove before they turned 10. With their years of training, they can hone their bodies and skills to compete at the highest level.

But what if you start playing baseball at, say, 15 years old? Is it too late to pursue a dream of becoming a professional baseball player?
The short answer is no. It is possible for players who pick up their sport much later than their peers to catch up and be able to compete at the top. One example proving this is Jackie Robinson, who played several sports in high school and college before joining the MLB. It's said he started playing baseball during his teens.
However, it's also important to be realistic and set the right expectations. Players who start late typically struggle to compete with peers who have been in the sport for much longer. It often takes dedication, a ton of hard work, and the guidance of an excellent coach to level the playing field.
The advantage of starting young
Many players start so early that you'll likely find a baseball coach for young kids wherever you may live. Their early foray into the sport gives these kids a headstart in mastering the foundations of baseball. Especially if they receive baseball training, youths are better able to develop muscle memory, speed, agility, and the other physical qualities required to excel as athletes.
Additionally, starting young gives players more time to improve and refine technical skills like batting or pitching. Thanks to years of consistent practice, they can fine-tune their techniques, giving them an edge and making them more likely to perform well in their respective roles inside the field.
Catching up is possible
Despite the steep learning curve they're likely to face, players who start late can still excel and surpass their peers if they have the right attitude and support system. One way to catch up is by enrolling in a baseball youth academy. Such schools have professional coaches who can teach the fundamentals of the sport, help players bolster their strengths, and address any weaknesses in their performance.
As an older first-time player, time is of the essence if you want to catch up with your peers, and a coach's guidance cannot be understated in this regard. A coach can provide a clear path so you don't waste precious time second-guessing your next steps. Instead, you focus only on improving your game.
Additionally, having a mentor minimizes the risk of committing mistakes that can quickly become counterproductive habits. For instance, a dedicated youth batting coach can assess your swing and provide feedback on improving it. They can also help you develop a training plan that addresses relevant areas for improvement.
The best baseball training for youths
If you're searching for the best youth baseball camps, Florida has undoubtedly some of the best in the country. Vaughn Sports Academy (VSA) stands out because of its coaching staff, all with professional baseball experience. Led by MLB star Mo Vaughn, VSA's coaches are among the most qualified in the country to help players become bona fide baseball athletes.
And because consistency is especially critical for any baseball player, VSA offers online training programs developed by Mo Vaughn himself to help athletes improve even if they cannot attend in-person training. If you want to learn more about VSA's programs and how they can help players unlock their potential, visit their website today!

20 Questions For Fic Writers
Tagged on my main but I'm going to answer this here, if thats okay :)
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
As of yesterday: 30!!
2. What's your total AO3 word count?
89,815 words (from June 2023 to now)
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Pretty much exclusively Star Trek TOS
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Human Resources: https://archiveofourown.org/works/52524067
The other side of the dresser: https://archiveofourown.org/works/48085150
Up we go: https://archiveofourown.org/works/49781029
Eurydice, stay with me: https://archiveofourown.org/works/48124630
My mother never cried a lot: https://archiveofourown.org/works/48685723
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
WIPs nonwithstanding, I don't actually write angsty endings (anymore)! So got nothing on this account because canon was angsty enough, they deserve a happy ending.
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
I think my entire series is a collection of happy endings :D
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Nothing so far, thankfully!
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
No, but I'm so tempted to translate my own work into yiddish
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
My beta reader @hrmmmm13 and I have been planning one since the beginning of time but so far, its just notes. Stay tuned though ;)
14. What’s your all time favorite ship?
Oof, tough question. Spirk has me in a chokehold but I like many ships from many different fandoms, starting with OG Sherlock Holmes / Watson to McKirk and McSpirk
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
It's another Spirk kid fic AU where Jim is an instructor at the academy and Spock is transferring from the VSA for one semester - you'll never guess what happens next ;)
16. What are your writing strengths?
I got a lovely comment once that said that my writing has a sort of wavey flow, a cadence that is very enjoyable to read, I'm still thinking about that every time I write. But I think, dialogue is my greatest strength.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Definitely action (and paragraph breaks T-T) - I put way too many of those. I definitely struggle with balancing dialogue and action, but thankfully, I've got help.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
Like I said, Yiddish Spirk is on my mind all the time, but I sTruggle with the hebrew keyboard on the computer so probably not for a while XD
19. First fandom you wrote for?
I think Harry Potter when I was around 12 and before that, just original works.
20. Favourite fic you’ve written?
Also tough question..... I’m really invested in Up we go (see above) and the sequel that I’m working on.
Thanks for tagging me!
20 Questions For Fic Writers
Tagged by @rngaredead :)
For simplicity's sake I'm going to go with just my biDEMONium/trentcrimminallybeautiful ao3 and not try to combine it with my thesorrowoflizards one (why do i have more than one? because i was, among other things, an idiot who didn't know how pseuds worked next question) even though that would probably double some of these numbers lkfjgh
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
Again, just on this account? 171 (some of those are oneshot compilations though)
2. What's your total AO3 word count?
661,851 for now
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Ted Lasso, The Mysterious Benedict Society, The House on the Cerulean Sea, House MD, Death by Dying, Instinct, King Falls AM. Also, sort of Gravity Falls. Mostly those first two though, tbh. This one I think I will include other fandoms I've written and posted for on other accounts because it's fun and less about math. So also Shadowhunters, The Librarians, The Mentalist, The Dresden Files (TV), Roswell New Mexico, The Sandman, Star Trek, Professor Layton, Sanders Sides, Miraculous Ladybug, and sort of The Legend of Zelda. Also see, for unposted or posted a very long time ago and no longer something I would willingly share, Supernatural, Dirk Gently (both 2016 and 2010), Doctor Who, Warehouse 13, SurrealEstate, Person of Interest, Haven, Leverage, Bones. Psych, and probably more
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Ted Lasso Kisses Trent Crimm On The Mouth (Trent/Ted - 1,157 kudos)
semaphore (Trent/Ted; Trent & Colin - 997 kudos)
off the handle (Trent/Ted - 736 kudos)
linger (Trent/Ted - 709 kudos)
a preacher, a bikini, and a kiss or two (Trent/Ted; Diamond Dogs - 673 kudos)
5. Do you respond to comments?
I try to but I always get really busy/tired and then it's been so long it feels like it would be weird if I did. Plus, sometimes my answers by nature of the comments can get repetitive and then even though I'm being sincere I feel insincere which sucks. However, if a comment has a direct question or something I actually have like, something unique to say about, I'm much more likely to respond sooner rather than later/never. I appreciate every single comment soooo much though literally my motivation to get through the day like 80 percent of the time
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
I'm going to stick with Ted Lasso fics here since I have so many fics posted and this is my Ted Lasso sideblog and say... well, most of the time I have a bittersweet ending and then some sort of hopeful epilogue (such as with ink sunset and make a mess of you) but I guess betrayal's sting / absolution's balm or something to get off my chest may qualify?
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Uhhh, honestly, most of them are happy endings. I think trick & treat and matters of the heart end on particularly high notes?
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Not in this fandom! Yet
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Oh, yeah, baby. So much. Not sure what "kind" means in this context. It sure is explicit smut. I have tended almost exclusively towards hot transgender sex the last few years because. yknow. hi. but somehow I don't think that's the intention in the question.
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?
I do, but I haven't posted a lot. Only one on this account (a Gravity Falls x The Mysterious Benedict Society crossover that started as a joke because of a shared actress) although I had an interesting Shadowhunters x The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess fusion on my other account. I've written some pretty weird WIPs, though. And I've got some posts about Ted Lasso crossover/AUs, like a Sarah Jane Adventures AU, a Pushing Daisies AU, a Stardust AU... You can find that kind of thing in this tag on my blog.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Yes. Not in this fandom, though, as far as I'm aware.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Yes! Again, not in this fandom, though.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Not really.
14. What’s your all time favorite ship?
Oh, man, I don't know if I can decide. Magnus/Alec (TV version only I'll die on this hill) will always hold a special place in my heart, but I've got other "obsessed with this when I was a kid" ships and also recency bias/current hyperfixation means Trent/Ted screams as an immediate answer, and so on and so forth. I'm bad at picking favorites. Overall, I'd probably say one of those two, or both.
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
Sticking to Ted Lasso again (I have. so many MBS WIPs. god.) I'd say lost sight of (who you are) (lost motivation, want to finish, fuck!!) or sweeter than heaven (hotter than hell) (got mad at it), or!! oh!!! ink sunset (stuck) and possibly the next installment of matters of the heart. Yeah, I have a problem
16. What are your writing strengths?
I think I'm pretty good at being funny and also at eloquent but perhaps a little too verbose metaphors. I love me an elaborate metaphor
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
It's hard for me to focus and get what I have in my head out sometimes, even when I really want to. Whether it's being unable to organize or just my brain flat-out refusing to cooperate and do anything. Also, I'm way too like. easily discouraged with lack of feedback, and even a little negative feedback can kind of ruin my week and make me never wanna go back to that story ever again.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
I just realized. The questions seemed familiar but I wasn't sure why and now I know, now that I've gotten to this question. I have done this game before and I remember bc of this question. I was confused bc it was under a different name, I think the questions were in a different order, and it was sometimes slightly differently worded but nope! This is the same one! Weird Anyway, just for this particular question, I'm going to copy-paste my old answer because I'm lazy. I’m extremely bad at linguistics in general, so if I must include someone talking in another language in my fic, I think I’d tend to cheat and do italics or some other indication that this is ‘in another language’ (ie “Where are you going?” she asked in Russian), but that’s admittedly a lazy approach. But I also think it’s probably better than butchering it with an auto-translator? Also, when people just include the translation in the end notes, even with a link (although that makes it marginally better) it breaks the flow of the story and makes it hard to read. Making an effort to at least match grammar is good (which I would do if it was for longer than a single scene, probably) but I think the best solution is when people know what they’re doing and like, have an actual translation with a little html code so you can click on it and it reveals what it means? Or if you’re clever, revealing what it means using context around it, but that has its own limitations. So that both like, uses the actual language and doesn’t break up the flow. It balances accessibility, flow, and respect for the other language in question well. But you’ve got to both know what you’re doing with the language (either asking someone/hiring someone/knowing the language yourself) and the html (although there are guides for that you’d have to spend time figuring it out + know it exists in the first place to look). And this is fanfiction, something we ultimately do for free in our spare time, so the lazy approach, I think, can be understandable. Maybe not in every context, but it’s not worth stressing a lot over in a few random lines or anything, you know? It is really cool when people do know a language well enough to include it properly in a fic, though, it can say a lot about a character or dynamic; and their background(s) and like. it’s neat :)
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Ever? Doctor Who. And I don't remember the order, but after that I know I wrote some stuff about Star Trek (mostly TNG but I believe also TOS), Supernatural, A:LTA, Marvel, WTNV, and the Stanley Parable? I think I first posted either Supernatural or WTNV
20. Favourite fic you’ve written?
I have no idea. Some of my top ones (for Ted Lasso again) would be matters of the heart and trick & treat I suppose?
Tagging: whoever wants to do this man, I probably tagged everyone I'd normally tag last time so if you see this and you wanna do it, go ahead and tag me and do it!

i love when someone is asked a simple question like "are you proship" and they respond with "um... i don't want to be dragged into internet discourse... i come on here to have fun and share content. my perspective isn't important. i'm subjecting myself to harassment regardless of how i answer so i'm not going to say anything" like oooooh ok so you are proship or you're ambivalent towards the topic and you're just not brave enough to say it 💕 because if you found it disgusting - as you SHOULD - you would not be so cagey about it and would speak out against it, rather than curating a space in which proshippers feel free to engage with your content. great job, dumbass
#so i'm not fond of namedropping but i keep seeing their art going around in my utdr circles so *presses my fingers to my temples*#be wary of vsa-pieldepapel. obviously the refusal to answer doesn't confirm but *glances over their content quickly* i am Skeeved Out#that is a full grown adult drawing minors in. considerably inappropriate contexts. i think two and two can be put together#cool? cool.

From This is Arashi Live Minna de Junbi da! TV:
#1 Preparation for the Ticket
M: Ah, he's here.
N: He's here.
M: Right on time.
A: He's wearing different clothes.
S: I'm preparing with all my heart!
M: What?
M&A: What kind of character is that?
S: Everyone.
M: Yes.
S: For the first preparation that should be commemorated...
A: Yes.
S: I will deliver this teacher style.
A: I see.
Sho takes attendance before starting.
M: Was that just now necessary?
The first question is about getting the tickets. Ohno passes the question, and Aiba answers the importance of getting the ticket early. The next topic is about the feature to watch the concert with friends, which Jun explains perfectly.
S: I give up. It's perfect. I'll give you the robe.
M: No, no, it's okay, it's okay.
To explain the feature for fans to enjoy the concert with friends, Sho makes a drawing while Jun is explaining the context of interacting with friends who are far away using the feature, for example making comments like, "This is emotional."
O: This is emotional.
M: Which one is Arashi?
S: Any one of them is Arashi.
AMNO: Any of them?
❤️ 💜
#2 Preparation for Watching Together
As they have explained on the previous episode that fanclub members will be able enjoy the concert with friends...
M: I don't know. I wonder if there's anyone who doesn't remember. This here.
S: What's this? Matsujun took it home?
❤️ 💜
#6 Preparation for Participation with Friends
M: Good morning.
ANOS: Good morning.
S: Huh, that robe...
S: Huh? What are we preparing for, today?
M: It's a hand-me-down.
M: Okay, everyone, I'm starting.
S: Rather than a hand-me-down, how should I say this...
A: It's being passed around.
Jun asks what the second episode is about, which Ohno passes and Aiba answers correctly again.
M: This. Does everyone remember? This drawing. This.
S: Oh! My masterpiece! Thank you so much for giving it such great care.
M: Thank you very much.
Jun explains the next step after choosing your friends to watch it with, which is group registration.
S: Group registration?
M: That's a good reaction.
S: Ah, do you mean that the previously registered members will be able to watch it together?
M: Yes, it's just as you said. As expected!
N: He understood it right away.
M: Should I give you the robe?
S: Eh? Rather than giving it, I want you to return it.
M: It's my turn today, so please let me wear it.
S: Please use it.
#2020#nearing the end of episode 6 sho commented 'pien' to the group feature thing#jun answered something like yes it's 'pien' isn't it#i guess in this case it means impressive kinda like emoi#jun all that talk about not seeing him as an aniki/onii-chan anymore... i dare you to call him sho-chan like the others do#just kidding#the other day i watched vsa but I usually watch 2 vsa episodes a week so I don't remember which one#the one on tv or the last episode one#that has nino saying he does watch vs while ohno doesn't because he doesn't want to see himself#but he watches other members' shows#nino gave aiba manabu as an example#and jun followed up smoothly with zero#bless you both suezu bless you
