At least one(1) person asked for it. SO-
We'll start with some stuff from the isat spoiler Q&A
Let's get started!
-There is only one canonical straight shot timeline that technically erases the prologue from existence. When looping back the previous timeline is completely overwritten, like saving over your save file in a game! It's all gone! Despite this, when you start a new game you're making an entirely new Siffrin to torment. So at least you're not making the same Siffrin go through hell again and again! *sweeps Loop under rug* Don't look at that. Don't worry about them. They're fine.
-While wish craft and other craft types are described to have a smell, time craft does not! I mean, what would time craft even smell like anyway? Clocks???
-Mirabelle's time freeze immunity will wear off eventually!
-Loop could actually be still comfortable with He/They. While the time loops did put them through it, the They/Them was mostly for anonymity. But there WAS some sort of identity shift. So you can and should have fun with Loop pronouns. Do it! Do it!!!
-Despite the island being forgotten, it's still physically there the entire game and before that! So it being lost is purely anti-memetic fuckery. It is just censored out by the universe.
-Loop and Siffrin sitting quietly together was originally a bug where ID5 accidentally softlocked Siffrin and trapped him at the tree. They thought it was a sweet moment of respite and implemented it.
Let's Switch it up! Reddit AMA
-There was originally a love triangle between proto Mira, Isa, and Sif before Mirabelle was made aroace. It probably would have ended in an OT3/polycule situation. So QPR MiraIsaSif truthers out there, enjoy this one.
-The idea of Loop being Siffrin came about during saap's developement. Originally the guide for isat was going to be one of ID5's ocs.
-Change God knows everything about meta because they are a God. Loop only gets a smidgen of meta knowledge, however.
-Loop's ability to see what Siffrin is up to works the same way their calls work! The farther Siffrin is, the harder it is. So Loop calls stop working past snack break 3, and Loop can barely see past the King.
-Isabeau wouldn't play video games. He touches grass.
-Siffrin was subconsciously inspired by Snufkin, from The Moomins. So we wouldn't have Siffrin as he is if everyone wasn't rabid over Moomins a few years back.
-Sadnesses ARE are a constant in the world of isat. They only become more common and poweful during times of great duress, like war or Insane False Monarchs with timey wimey powers
-The doppleganger wish in the selfcest book happened "a long time ago" and is only a child's tale now.
-Odile's name is her given name. Kinda. (No elaboration on what the fuck THAT means.)
-Siffrin only got memory issues after leaving home. They were not a forgetful child.
-At one point before they had names, Isabeau was just called "dude".
-While only called scrawny in game, Adrienne calls Siffrin "deathly thin". Metabolism monarch out here. (Probably all the casual wish craft.)
-The reason the party stops reacting to Sif's poking is just because it's tragic and makes things worse for him. That's it. The universe just hates him.
-Everyone but Odile would like rollercoasters.
-Just... this. This is so funny. Also Loop being the final boss while Siffrin is the secret final boss... Also Loop confirmed deity looking!!!
-"comic!siffrin is a whole different siffrin than game!siffrins sadly. rip to them. still stuck in time" WAY TO FUCK ME UP ON A MONDAY? Comicfrin is still stuck in time.
-The characters have official voice claims but not a single one is serious except for the King's. Mira sounds like Animal crossing isabelle(isa.belle. hm.). Bonnie sound like a inkling from splatoon (ID5 specifically used the female inkling as example). Odile sounds old. Isabeau quantum mechanically sounds flamboyantly gay or like All Might from MHA. Loop sounds like stock glitter sound fx. No Siffrin voice claim. Siffrin has video game protagonist voices which means they sound like whatever you want.
-Loop's glow is comparable to a lamp. Not enough to hurt the eyes.
Siffrin and Friends Q&A time!!(Beware these are SEMI-CANON)
-Siffrin isn't really a trap master. They're just fast enough to activate and dodge the traps.
-Odile doesn't like fennel.
-Fave flowers! Bonnie=Sunflowers, Odile=Orchids, Mira=Lavender, Isa=Roses, Siffrin=None, dubiously answered with dandelions however.
-Sif is a night owl, Bon and Mira are early birds, and Odile and Isa are average.
-Siffrin and Odile have probably eaten crabs and would tempt Bonnie with their sinful ways of consuming crustaceans.
-Odile has been traveling for about 2 years.
-Odile knows how to play a shamisen. It's one of her favorite instruments as well.
-When prompted with competition Loop and Siffrin stare each other down like "kids about to throw hands".
-Loop would like to eat a pastry if they could. GIVE THEM YOUR BAKED GOODS NOW!
-Kill the King day is a Tuesday.
And finally random trivia I found while sniffing through the wiki!
-Salty broths actual cure 6 cooldown, instead of 2 like the dialogue implies.
-Chateau means castle. The cursing of castle castle...
-The Change God face with six eyes and a cat-like mouth is inspired by ID5's oc Eye Gal
-The only time tears can freeze Siffrin with no warning is in saap. By using the second Star Crest to clear one of the rows of Tears, you can just walk into the second row and freeze.
-The dev's older notes mention specific shades being used for hair dyes but they're never mentioned in-game because of the an unadded event.
-In ACT 2, there's a small chance Siffrin says "Heheh… Bonk." when activating the switch for the rock trap
-Saap Bonnie thinks nuts are gross according to some unused dialogue, but enjoys raisins.
-During early development in saap tears were originally intended to be spike traps. A left over sprite of Siffrin being impaled does exist, including minor blood spurt. This was probably changed because it was a little too gruesome, ID5 definitely tried to reel in the darker concepts and has stated they went too dark sometimes.
-Loop turning back into Siffrin was considered long enough for them to get an entire animated walking sprite.

Here we are at the end of Andor. And my opinion of it is pretty simple. I think the show is really good at talking about the politics of fascism and insurrection.
Where this season excels is in the big moments and the political speeches. It's things like the Ghorman Massacre or Luthen teaching Kleya how to be an operative. It's moments like Mon Mothma's speech to the Senate, where she addresses the Senate and says, "Donald Trump is plunging this country into a fascistic hellscape while FOX News erodes the very concept of an objective reality. You, the person sitting here watching Star Wars: Andor, you have to be responsible for pushing back against this."
The show has a lot to say, and what it has to say is extremely relevant to this moment in history. It is a very good at being a powerful political manifesto that wears its themes on its sleeve.
What it's not so good at is... doing things with the characters it has. Holy shit, do I need to vent because when the show wasn't giving political screeds that I like and agree with, it was such a fucking mess.
Here, at the end of the line, I feel confident saying that they have utterly failed to make Cassian seem like the character from Rogue One. The show is too enchanted by that moment when he decided to defy orders and follow his heart, which was supposed to be a moment of character development.
But they've backwritten it into the show as his defining character trait. The Cassian of Andor is a loose canon who undermines everyone all the time. He hates the Rebel Alliance and is only here because his girlfriend dumped him, and all he does is play cards with his buddies, steal ships, and get in arguments over whether or not Tony Gilroy's OC is the greatest character ever introduced to Star Wars.
He has two separate arguments about that. It's crazy how much the last three episodes are just about what an amazing character Luthen was. Like, the parts with Luthen and Kleya's backstory were actually really good but then the next two episodes just will not stop talking about how Luthen is a Great Man of History, singularly responsible for the very existence of the Rebel Alliance.
Everything good that ever happened in the Star Wars Trilogy, they owe it all to Luthen Thunderdick who descended from on high and made the Empire tremble with his mighty footsteps. It was all him and nobody else. For decades, he was the guy, and there was nothing he couldn't do. Except kill himself effectively.
At the same time that the show can't shut up about how great Luthen is, I was genuinely stunned that Luthen's big confrontation with Dedra consisted of him passively slitting his own gut and hoping for the best. Luthen really struck me as a "Killing myself in a giant explosion to try and take you with me" sort of character, but apparently the big 'out' he had decades to plan for himself was to just quietly die in front of Dedra and hope the Empire will let him.
Cassian and Bail later talk about how Bail being a "Go down swinging" sort of guy makes him like Luthen. And. Like. Yeah, I would have thought Luthen would go down swinging too. So weird that he didn't.
Honestly, it would have been fine if Dedra was killed like that, too. Because the show had nothing else for her to do. She was just sort of fired from the plot right after that. This is another place where the politics are strong but the character work sucks.
Dedra's ultimate comeuppance for everything she's done this season comes in the form of Lonni stealing her access codes offscreen somehow. That's it. That is what undoes her. At some point between episodes 9 and 10, Lonni somehow acquired the ability to access her files. We never saw it happen, only heard him talk about it to Luthen afterward, but that offscreen occurrence so minor that it wasn't worth showing is the moment that seals Dedra's fate.
Dedra going to the prison from season 1 is a strong political point about the way the cruel and unforgiving systems of fascism will devour and destroy their own without hesitation or remorse. She is ultimately crushed under the very machine she worked so hard to help build.
But as a final resolution for arguably the central antagonist of the entire series, it has the same energy as if she were just suddenly dragged away by mountain lions. A bad thing happens to her because the show is over but it doesn't really connect to anything the principal characters are actively doing.
Luthen should have just blown them both up and saved us all a lot of screentime that could have been spent writing a satisfying conclusion to the character journeys we've been following.
I also found it unsatisfying when Syril, horrified by what he's contributed to, exited out into the crowd of Ghormans during the massacre... Only to suddenly spot Cassian and suddenly just turn into a Physical Threat Boss Fight. A violent orc who overpowers Cassian with his incredible accountant might.
But at least they had the Ghorman dad be the one who shot him. Dedra didn't even get that much. She was just dragged away by mountain lions because Lonni did things offscreen between episodes.
It's kind of amazing how this show is supposed to be the prequel for Cassian Andor, a ruthless killer first introduced executing his own informant for the "greater good" of the Alliance, and the most involved he is with the ultimate fate of any of the show's antagonists is getting his ass beaten down by Syril Karn just before someone else shoots him.
Cinta Kaz is the character most poorly served, of course. They brought her back just so they could bury the gays and, by Tony Gilroy's admission, give her girlfriend Vel some emotional baggage. Vel then does not do anything for the rest of the show. That's basically where her character ends.
Bix also got hit pretty hard. Allegedly, she does missions for Luthen and then is dedicated to the Rebel Alliance. She's in it for the cause. But she only gets to go on one mission and that's to get direct revenge on the guy who traumatized her. Apart from that, all she does onscreen is mope around about Cassian and then dump him because a random Force seer told her that he needs to be single for Rogue One.
Literally wrote a fucking psychic into the show to walk up to her and go, "Whoooo the Force tells me that Cassian has a GLORIOUS DESTINY that you can watch on Disney Plus, and you aren't part of it. Get out of here before they fridge you, girl!"
I'm not even going to touch that final scene of her with a ten-foot-pole. I will say that it's kind of gross that she "chooses the Rebel Alliance over Cassian" not by dedicating herself to the cause but by dedicating him to the cause while she retires to go raise his kid. It's kind of gross that they wrote "choosing the Alliance over Cassian" to mean that.
Not like the Rebel Alliance themselves are good for anything. Disney's been assassinating the Rebels for years due to a fondness for renegade protagonists screaming "SCREW YOU, MOM, I'M DOING WHAT'S RIGHT!!!"
Star Wars: Rebels depicts the Alliance fingerwagging at the Ghost crew and telling them, "DO NOT go try to liberate Lothal! Liberating worlds from Imperial control is NOT what the Rebel Alliance is about!" But then the Ghost crew do it anyway because fuck those useless cowards.
Rogue One depicts the Alliance fingerwagging at Jyn Erso and telling her, "DO NOT go try to steal the Death Star plans! Resisting the Empire is NOT what the Rebel Alliance is about!" But then the Rogue One crew do it anyway and drag those useless cowards reluctantly into helping.
With that in mind, Andor is at least consistent when it has Rebel leadership making a big stink about how Luthen sucked and the Death Star intel is wrong and we should just shove our thumbs up our asses and do nothing.
Until Draven realizes that the plot of Rogue One has to start somehow so he does a complete 180 and gives Cassian an important mission, even though they all hate Cassian for being a loose canon renegade who doesn't play by the rules.
Disney just does not like the Rebel Alliance as an organized resistance movement.
Oh, and let's talk about Wilmon. Wilmon gets an amazing moment in episode 6 when Saw Gerrera radicalizes him to the cause. Again showing the political strengths of the show, Saw gets to deliver an amazing speech about how you have to be a little crazy to be a revolutionary, and it gets Wilmon so fired up he exposes himself to gases to join Saw in the madness. He is IN IT now, ready to GET CRAZY AND DO SOMETHING.
The rest of Wilmon's story for the season is that he gets a girlfriend. She seems nice.
That's it. Wilmon's done. Nothing more for Wilmon to do.
Kleya, a character who gets to eat so well in episode 10, then suddenly gets written bewilderingly in 11. She sends out a signal for evacuation because she has vital intel she had to endanger in order to make up for Luthen's random bout of incompetence. Then, when evac arrives, she inexplicably starts an argument with Cassian over whether Luthen is the greatest character ever to grace the face of Star Wars and refuses to be evacuated.
Fortunately, she wastes so much time that the Imperials show up and knock her out with a stun grenade, which also hits Cassian but he shrugs it off with his raw manliness. This allows Cassian and K-2S0 to have a kickass fight scene and then drag Kleya to evac before she can wake up and start weirdly resisting again.
K-2SO's really just here to make witty banter (which he succeeds at) and to have a fight scene where he storms the safehouse to rescue Cassian from Kleya's random bout of stupidity. I honestly don't know which is my favorite bit of choreography.
One Imperial raises a gun at the identifiably hostile droid but doesn't pull the trigger while K advances into grappling range and kills him. The other Imperial, watching this, raises his gun and doesn't pull the trigger until K advances into grappling range and kills him too.
K-2SO, famously killed by blaster fire, slowly advances into grappling range on a guy who shoots him in the chest. The blaster shots glance harmlessly off of K-2SO's invulnerable chassis.
K then uses that guy as a human shield to block enemy blaster bolts, even though it was just established that he's invulnerable to them. So I guess that part was just for shits and giggles.
Either way, at least K did get to be funny. I do feel like this is the same character from Rogue One. So there's that, at least.
But overall... yeah. Andor makes for a really good manifesto that really captures the moment in history in which we are living in, but is not very good at telling a story.

Clone File: Morbs (YukiPri OC)
Basic info:
Name: Morbs Number Designation: CC-4413 Generation: 1 (0.9) Rank/Title: Chief Mortician of the GAR, Kamino Chief Mortuary Trainer (former) GAR Affiliation: Entire GAR, primarily stationed with the 212th Attack Battalion Character status: YukiPri Original Character
Disclaimer: Morbs' story will likely make more sense if you've read The Prime Override, as he's introduced with context in this fic. He will also make more sense if you've read about the other 2 clone medics mentioned in this file, Ashe and Stabber.
Backstory beneath cut!
Overview:
Clone morticians are specialists even among medics. Every clone medic knows the basics of how to care for the deceased, but in war, priority must always go to the living. As such, it is common to find only one clone mortician per star destroyer or permanent GAR base, with greater numbers stationed in Tipoca City or various Republic medical centers.
Morbs, or CC-4413, is considered the Chief of this group of medical specialists. He is the originator of the division, and was assigned to develop both the position and the training curriculum of clone morticians in tandem with Ashe’s primary medical training.
Prior to the start of the Clone Wars and through the early war period, Morbs oversaw the Tipoca City Primary Clone Morgue, which processed all clone bodies. There, he managed biopsies, distribution of cadavers, and the care and processing of all of the bodies of his deceased brothers. He also trained other clone morticians who had completed general medical training prerequisites and were approved by Ashe, as well as future Chief Medical Officers who were required to have completed hands-on training time in the morgue to earn their certifications.
Morbs would have been content to remain in this morgue for life, but as the main body of the GAR prepared for deployment, it became clear that the number of bodies being processed on Kamino would plummet. Morbs was reassigned to the front lines, where his expertise would see more active use, leaving his morgue behind in the hands of his assistants. He primarily travels with the 212th Attack Battalion, but frequently visits medical centers and goes where he is needed.
Background:
Morbs was one of five Generation 0.9 CCs selected by Nala Se to begin the development of the clone medical track. While all subsequent medics are CTs, the Generation 0.9 CCs underwent manual age acceleration, putting them physically ahead of their Generation 1 peers in chronological age. Morbs and his fellow CCs were test subjects used to establish the start of the medical specialization path before their younger brothers were of age to begin that training.
As CCs, they are overqualified for the general medical training that Nala Se is building, and Nala Se quickly turns to using them for other experiments as well. Their unique position as the first experimental medical clones gives Nala Se more oversight over them than any other clones, with far less supervision as well. They are “her” clones to test as she pleases.
In the depths of her labs, Nala Se conducts experiments that she had been banned from conducting on standard troopers by the contract with the Prime Clone, Jango Fett. Morbs later learns that these tests would be considered “torture,” and are illegal in the Republic. He and his brothers are tested for the physical limits that clones can reach, including tolerance for exposure to various stimulants such as heat or chemicals, as well as sensory limits such as their maximum threshold for pain. She also experiments with the potential for building up tolerance and even immunity to various drugs and poisons. She takes all of the data she gains and incorporates them into the medical training for the clones—thus, ensuring that her tests still fall under the scope of “developing medical training.”
Two of the five CCs perish as a result of these experiments. Ashe is ordered to decommission the third when he fails to meet Nala Se’s standards. This leaves Morbs and Ashe as the only survivors of their initial group. They cannot speak of their experiences to anyone else, as Nala Se is the only other witness. Not even Kote knows what they experienced. Between the two of them though, they can never forget that their senior medical positions were earned with blood.
Morbs has always been a quiet but keen observer, and knew from early on that Ashe has reasons for wanting to be in the medical track, and that this is a path that he’s chosen and is motivated to push through. Morbs is brought into the Ghosts’ plans relatively early, and having had the most first-hand experience seeing just what Ashe’s position entails, he wishes he could do more to help his brother. However, Morbs is also realistic, and knows that he doesn’t have the same passion and dedication driving him. He does what he can, but he can’t see himself being the medics’ leader that Ashe is. He feels guilty for not being able to offer to take Ashe’s place, when he’s the only one in a position who could. He tries to make up for it by loyally following him, and doing what he can as a supporter.
In addition to not having the drive, Morbs also feels he is cursed with misfortune. While he excels as a medic and not even Nala Se can find anything lacking in his record, most of the patients that Morbs touches seem to end up dead for reasons unrelated to his skills as a medic.
He’s assigned to oversee a group of cadets, who end up having a fatal genetic mutation that gives them all heart attacks while he’s on observation. The wing with patients that he oversees collapses due to an architectural problem, and they all die. He’s conducting a surgery, when the power goes out, and he’s unable to save his patient with the tools he has available. He tends to some brothers, who leave his exam room fine, but are killed in a training accident a few hours later. He’s assigned to take over a simple check up, and finds his patient already dead before he enters the room.
Every additional incident makes him increasingly uncomfortable with working with living patients. He knows he has the skills, but it doesn’t seem to matter, because most of his patients end up dead anyway. Statistically, it’s not impossible, but after a certain point it’s certainly improbable, and yet it continues to happen. Clones are rarely superstitious, as they have no cultural basis for it, but Morbs feels that there’s something absurdly wrong with the amount of death that seems to follow him everywhere.
He only feels that he’s safe for his brothers when working with those already dead. He can’t kill them if they’re dead before they’re even assigned to him. When Nala Se announces that a new mortuary sub-track will be added to the primary medical track, Morbs dives for it because he can’t think of a better position for himself. If death follows him, he might as well embrace it.
As he and Ashe are given more access to resources including those from outside of Kamino to help them develop their respective training curriculums, Morbs finds himself increasingly interested in not just the practical aspects of death, but also the more cultural and spiritual elements as well. It’s sparked by his own unluckiness and wondering if others have experienced the same, but is fed by his curiosity when he realizes that most nat-born cultures have different ways of processing death and grief that are deeply engrained in how they handle their dead. Nat-born lives are for the most part extremely foreign and utterly irrelevant to anything clones will likely ever experience, but death is almost universal. Morbs finds this fascinating.
The clones are brusquely told that they “march on,” when they die, as Mandalorians do. But why? Where do they march to, with whom? What is waiting there? If that is the inevitable eventual fate of all of them, regardless of Ashe’s or Kote’s efforts, shouldn’t it perhaps be Morbs’ job as the Chief Mortician to at least consider what happens after?
While Morbs has no answers for the afterlife, he certainly has many thoughts, which he shares with the silent cadavers who he works with. It seems like they can hear him, he thinks, for all that none of his words are spoken out loud.
While sitting in on a Ghosts meeting as they develop code words for their growing underground organization, Morbs mentions off-hand that their brothers who are dead, but aren’t, are, “Marching on to join Kote.”
It’s not his fault that their overseers failed to really explain what “marching on” means, nor really instill any true understanding of “glory” either. So if they choose to define it for themselves, with “marching on” meaning to join their other brothers (who may or may not be dead), and “glory” as fighting for their brothers, something tangible that they actually understand and care for…well. They are, after all, supposed to die for the glory of the Republic anyway. No one will question the language.
While most of Morbs’ brothers are exceedingly practical, and must be, Morbs finds his niche in thinking about the not practical. If having ways of respecting and mourning the dead helps all other sentients, why shouldn’t it help them too? Morbs experiments with how he thinks their dead should be treated, and the bodies in his morgue are, as always, his silent audience.
He grows to consider the dead bodies in the morgue “his men” in “his army.” After all, those who are also marked dead, but are actually just with the Ghosts, are also allowed to “consider serving” despite being equally dead on record. And are not the bodies that he repurposes to hide the missing bodies, the dead whose organs and limbs save the lives of their living brothers, not also serving their brothers? Just because they were unlucky, like Morbs, doesn’t mean that they aren’t still being helpful, aren’t still actively saving their brothers. Because that’s all what any of them want to do: help each other.
Morbs assigns himself their Commander, as he is in charge of them, cares for them, and directs their “campaigns.” The rows of cold lockers that house their bodies are “barracks.” He talks to them, praises their missions, and grieves for them when they finally march on to their second deaths via cremation, only after which they are truly gone.
While none of Morbs’ students go to quite the same level as Morbs himself in humanizing their deceased brothers, he makes sure that all of them leave his morgue with a firm understanding that even when dead, their brothers are still their brothers. Pieces of his ideology and treatment of bodies linger in all of the medics who handle their dead.
Morbs treats the dead as his men because he wants them to be able to live on just a bit longer, but admittedly that’s not all. It’s something that also helps with his guilt over not being able to assist Ashe in his decommissionings. He can’t stop those deaths any more than Ashe can, and he can’t even share in the pain of murdering them. But he can promise them, and can promise Ashe, that once their bodies leave Ashe’s blood-stained hands, that Morbs will welcome them gently to his morgue. That they’ll be treated tenderly, with humanity, and that their existences won’t mean nothing. That if they’re capable of it, Morbs will do whatever he can to ensure that they too can serve Kote before their bodies are gone.
Morbs likes to think it offers Ashe some comfort.
General Info:
Most clones have only ever heard of Morbs, who is extremely elusive. Even after deployment, he rarely leaves the morgue wing attached to medical. Whereas Ashe feels a complicated mixture of self-loathing and knowing that he’s unwelcome in other spaces because all other clones loathe him too, Morbs is simple. He likes being with his men, they’re his favorite group of clones. The living get plenty of attention amongst each other. He just is happier with his own men, and prioritizes giving them his own attention.
He’s eccentric and more than a little creepy, but his reputation means that many of his brothers are very curious about him. He has a strict “no one alive past this line” rule at the entrance of the morgue, with very few exceptions, so not even those who try to catch a glimpse of him while visiting medical have much luck. Spotting him outside the morgue is both like an exciting cryptid sighting, but also potentially a bad luck omen. Morbs is oblivious to the excitement his presence causes, as he’s usually just in a rush to get back to the morgue.
Morbs is so mysterious that only a very limited handful of his brothers knows how truly odd his habits are. He has an assigned bunk, but ignores it and sleeps in a specially padded cold locker so that he can “sleep in the barracks with his men.” He calls it his favorite bunk, and tells the other medics he wants to rest there when he one day inevitably dies. He will sometimes forget to take care of himself, ignoring his own living needs to eat, drink, exercise, hygiene, etc. until a medic, usually Stabber, drags him out of the morgue to handle it. Stabber thinks Morbs is an example of how truly unfair their genetic enhancements are, because Morbs somehow maintains his solid CC-class physique with essentially zero effort on his part.
Unlike Ashe, who wants to be out in the field, Morbs never wants to leave his morgue for anything. Once he has been relocated into the morgue on the Negotiator, he only steps out when absolutely necessary. He doesn’t want to see the sights of the outside galaxy, doesn’t want to see the people or try the foods. He thinks all air outside of the morgue that is not optimized for the preservation of clone bodies is distasteful. He especially hates heat, sunlight, and humidity, insisting that it will “cause us to decay faster.”
The one exception to this is if there is a morgue, funeral, cemetery, or something else death-related going on. He learned about other cultures’ death practices, and he’s admittedly still curious about them too, mostly in the context of whether there’s anything else he can do to improve the experience for his men. If the ship is planetside and there’s supposed to be a famous cemetery, he might be seen quickly slinking outside, face completely veiled to avoid exposure to the elements.
Relationships:
Morbs maintains a close relationship with Ashe, though it’s one he’ll rarely show in front of others, always maintaining a professional distance if they have company. But Ashe is the only living person that Morbs will seek out for company, always while Ashe is alone. Morbs is the only one who knows the extent of what Ashe suffered during his early training, and had experienced much of it with him. He is concerned about Ashe, but doesn’t offer medical help, as he feels Stabber does that enough, and he doesn’t trust himself to think of Ashe as a patient; that never ends well. He will instead offer Ashe silent company.
Morbs claims to despise Stabber, especially since he’s the one responsible for taking him away from his morgue on Tipoca City and forcing him onto a star destroyer. Because Stabber is the CMO of the 212th, prior to Ashe joining them, Morbs is forced to interact with him the most. Morbs doesn’t like Stabber because he considers the other medic, “far too alive.” Stabber’s high energy, movement, and noise levels all grate on Morbs’ preference for stillness and darkness. Still, he reluctantly respects Ashe’s former assistant’s skills as a medic, and will follow his orders.
He also won’t admit it, but Stabber was the one who gave him his name. Stabber had a habit of announcing that Ashe’s work buddy “has the morbs,” a phrase he’d picked up from one of Ashe’s training resources that he claims means “has emo vibes.” Stabber liked the sound of the word so much that he began shouting it every time he encountered Morbs, and it ended up sticking. Morbs pretends he doesn’t care, but secretly thinks it’s fitting.
On the other hand, Morbs has a surprisingly amicable relationship with the Jedi he interacts with most frequently, Obi-Wan. He was very leery of letting Obi-Wan come anywhere near the morgue, not trusting an outsider with his delicate men who are unable to defend themselves. However, Obi-Wan found Morbs’ ruminations and philosophies fascinating, and was easily able to bait him into a conversation by expressing interest. Despite being surrounded by war, Morbs often seems strangely detached from it, preferring to speak less about the realities of war and the gears that move it, and more about why various cultures frame death and the afterlife in certain ways. While the conversations are often melancholy in nature, Obi-Wan appreciates the strange normalcy of it, knowing that Morbs would likely have these same questions regardless of whether there was a war. Morbs likewise is invested in hearing about death traditions from an outside perspective.
While the other clones aboard the Negotiator were at first both morbidly fascinated by Morbs, they were discouraged from actually interacting with him because he says things like, “You should not be in here, unless you are dead. Unless you would like to be dead, in which case I can help you,” or, “Oh, well you don’t look like you’re dying. How unfortunate.” However, they gradually realize that Morbs is not as aloof as he first appears.
He isn’t opposed to speaking, as long as it’s about his men. They realize that while Morbs refuses to let any curious bystanders or unqualified personel enter the morgue for no reason, he’s always eager to learn more about those in his care. Clones who have lost brothers can always count on him wanting to hear about the deceased, and if they’re present in his morgue, Morbs may even allow them to visit. When the first clone brings Morbs some flowers, because he saw that some nat-borns planet-side were laying flowers by the graves of their lost loved ones, Morbs is tickled by the action. Clones are not granted proper graves, and those in Morbs’ morgue are still “on duty.” But Morbs creates a little sterilized shrine in a corner of medical close to the morgue, where he collects these offerings and allows his brothers to visit. If the tablet Morbs laid there is turned a certain way, Morbs knows that one of his brothers wishes to speak to him about someone deceased, and he slinks out of the morgue to listen to them.
Because Morbs is the Chief Mortician, he not only processes the bodies that pass in front of his own hands, but he obsessively goes over the reports sent to him by all other clone morticians and standard clone medics, who are in charge of marking all final fatalities. As such, he has the most comprehensive knowledge of all deceased clones. On the rare occasions that they are able to conduct larger, collective remembrances, if Morbs is available, he will often be called to lead them.
Obi-Wan observes that Morbs is acting almost like a priest or other religious leader, but Morbs scoffs at the idea. He has no intention of leading a religion; he just cares about his men.
And all of the clones will join his army, one day.
Appearance:
Morbs wears a modified version of the clone mortician uniform, a black version of the standard softshell white medic uniform. As the Chief Mortician, Morbs wears a longer knee-length version of the uniform, along with a black kama over it to signify his CC status. He also has a rank bar, and red shoulder pieces to show his personal training from Nala Se, like Ashe and Omega. He technically has armor, but he’s never worn most of it since his fitting, and he doesn’t plan on wearing it either. His men serve without wearing armor, so why should he? If the ship is ever boarded, he intends on going down with his men in the morgue, a plan that no one will allow him to follow through on.
The one piece of armor he does occasionally wear is his helmet, which is a black version of Ashe’s. He must occasionally process bodies that have been exposed to hazardous conditions, and in these cases, he’ll don his helmet for its filtration and advanced sensors. He is so utterly uninterested in his own armor that it was left unpainted, and Ashe decided to paint it black for him, so it can match Morbs’ aesthetic preferences. While Morbs never acknowledged the gesture, he shows his appreciation by not protesting when he’s told to wear it.
After leaving Kamino, he grows his hair long and wears it loosely tied back, because as a non-combatant, he isn’t limited to practical hair styles. The exact length changes constantly as he uses his own hair to create wigs and patches for any of his men who may have had their own hair damaged. He refuses to share his hair with anyone who isn’t dead.
He also gets tattooed, two dark lines dripping down his cheeks from his eyes. He saw nat-borns with the look in some funerary documentaries he watched as a cadet. He doesn’t know that what he saw was nat-borns with running makeup, but he likes the look because it looks like a trail of permanent black tears on his face. He takes it to be a metaphor that he is always thinking of his men.
Morbs also has deep permanent bags under his eyes. This is due to a mix of him constantly forgetting that he needs sleep, along with him not wanting to sleep because he has so many thoughts to ponder.
While he usually just wears his uniform, he has a veil that he throws over his head whenever he has to step outside of the ship or Republic medical facility for any length of time. He also has an ornamental headdress he’s fashioned for special occasions, such as when he has to welcome an exceptionally large number of men to his army, is conducting a field cremation, or is leading a remembrance. The headdress is created from shards of plastoid armor he’s had to pull from his men.
Note:
Morbs’ designation, CC-4413, was chosen because the number 4 means “death” in many Asian cultures, due to how it sounds similar to “death” in many Asian languages, including but not limited to my own Japanese/Chinese cultures. Tetraphobia, or the fear of the number 4, is a thing! The number Thirteen is an unlucky number in other cultures. The number “4413” felt fitting for this character who is so immersed in death and bad luck!

Fic Finder
May 13th
~*~
1. I really need help finding a fic! It's either ABO or the Chinese equivalent kunze/qianyuan. It's got some sort of arranged marriage, as Madam Yu(?) marries WWX off to LWJ. In this universe Alphas often do not allow their Omegas to bite them back and create a reciprocated bond, as it gives them power and status in society. LWJ lets WWX bite him back (because he's a romantic and a sap), and the Jiang's are salty because JYL wasn't given a reciprocal bond when she married JZY, so WWX is technically of a higher status than she is now. @star-whatevers
FOUND!🔒Alliance AU by Ilona22 (E, 21k, WangXian, JYL/OC, Arranged Marriage, A/B/O Dynamics, PWP, WangXian Get a Happy Ending, Intersex Omegas, Not JC Friendly, Matchmaking, canon Jiang family dynamics, Family time, Night Hunts, Mention of male omega pregnancy, Intrigue at Jinlintai, Mentions of Prostitution, War, Conflict between characters)

2. Hi! Fic finder plz. Looking for a fic where wwx is "sacrificed" by the other great sects to the gusu lan (in exchange for something? Don't remember). He is given to lwj and all the sects assume wwx is going to be a concubine (so much so that when they present wwx to lwj they dress him up like a concubine). Wwx also expects this and is very surprised when Iwj treats him nicely and everything. You can tell that lwj has fallen for wwx but is holding himself back. Wwx gradually falls for him too. I remember there was a part where the great sects came to visit and were surprised that wwx wasn't treated like a concubine. Tysm!!
FOUND? golden when the day met the night by glitteringmoonlight (Not rated, 95k, slow burn, sugar daddy LWJ, light, angst, fluff, developing relationship, eventual smut, WIP)

3. Hiii!!!
I'm looking for a fic where Lan Zhan is de-aged and the juniors take care of him while on a night hunt. Wei Ying is still away and has not returned and they have not confessed yet. Baby LZ just wants his WY so the junior quartet takes him to Qinghe to a discussion conference or smth. Wei Ying is also called there and LZ just goes and hugs him.
That's all I can remember. I think he was cursed to be more open and vulnerable so that he could confess.
Thanks! @ffaddictsrn

4. I hope you can help, fingers crossed! I've tried everything on this one... Jin sibs murder JGS? sort of along the lines of Qin Su and the boys, but I can't even remember if it was a full fic on Ao3 or maybe even a ficlet/snippet on Tumblr? I think JZX was very shocked/normal reaction but siding with his siblings and JGY/MXY/QS were all stab-happy gremlins? I think JGY and QS might have found out much earlier that they were related and planned revenge together? Any help would be great, thank you! @katonahottinroof
I read #4 a few weeks ago😭 I believe lan zhan was a courtesan/prostitute who was supposed to assassinate wei ying, and lan zhan was beholden to meng yao for saving him. lab zhan ends up going to wei yings home in the burial mounds and gets poisoned I think ? does this sound familiar? the story may be tagged under courtesan lan zhan or prostitute lan zhan

5. Good afternoon! I hope everyone has had a pleasant day.
Can’t say how many of my favorite stories have been found through you guys!
For the next fic finder.
I’m looking for a fic that has both a/b/o in it but also the lan clan were dragons and wwx was a fox, I think. Either one or both, I can’t quite recall.
Oh and it’s set in study arch.
Wwx and Lwj were already a couple or courting at the very least.
Anyway what I remember the clearest was a part where wwx was walking some stairs, might have been the stars to cloud recesses.
Anyway a spiritual dog suddenly appears and I think starts chasing or just barking at wwx.
Anyway twin jades to the save.
It is later revealed that the dog belonged to Jin Zixun which was confirmed by Zixuan who recognized the dog.
That’s all I remember.
Have a nice day and keep up the fantastic work! @ravenwithwings

6. There's this wangxian fanfic I know I've read more than once, but I can't seem to find it anymore! Ok, so it's a modern world with cultivation fic, and in it the 5 Great Sects are like big crime syndicates or something similar. Wei Ying has his own territory in Yiling where he is known, of course, as the Yiling Laozu. The story uses specific terms to refer to some characters' status. Ex: Lan Wangji is the Red Pole of the Lan Sect, and Meng Yao is, I think, the Straw Sandal. Pls help me find it? @dreammaiden21

7. Hi there! I hope you can help me figure out which fic I have just remembered. I think it might have been an ABO fic, but I'm not sure. All I remember is one scene. There was some kind of trial, and WWX was seated in some kind of special alcove where nobody could see or hear him, so that he could watch without encountering the Jiangs. I think he made some kind of comment about the type of court drama that would necessitate such a feature being built. Does anyone else remember this? Thank you!! @balleyboley

8. hi! potentially very long shot, but I'm looking for a fic with this quote "Besides, no one ‘was good,’ in some isolated way. Good was a relation between people. Good was a thing you did." I saved this quote then, and sadly can't remember any other details about this fic... I'd love find it to reread again, thank you! @potatokunst

9. Fic finder request: there's a fic I only recall some details of. In this fic, dual cultivation in the Cold Pond Cave contributes to the security of the Cloud Recesses, but it has to be done by powerful cultivators with a member of the main family. MY and LXC are married in this fic, but they are unable to use this method of boosting security because MY's cultivation level is not high enough. Wangxian do it eventually, and when they leave the Cold Pond Cave, they are congratulated (?) by the Lans, who were waiting outside. WWX is also welcomed into the sect as one of their own. I think JC comments at some point that it's really weird for him to be safe in Cloud Recesses because of this reason. Please help me find this fic!

10. Hello! I am looking for a fic that might have been canon-esque, but also could have been modern, where Mama Lan calls Lan Zhan her little bird. Only I think for a while the author gave us the Chinese word for it, which I don't recall what it was. It's translated later in the story. Thank you!
~*~
11. Looking for a longfic I read a while back. The elements I remember are that the Lan figured out that WWX wasn't being properly compensated/treated as a head disciple of the Jiang and the deliberate stunting of his academic education was a violation of (handwavy) Jianghu high academia codes of conduct. As a result the Lan got WWX his backpay and the Jiang teachers got shunned by their academic peers. Had similar vibes to Stunted, Starving Juvenility, but I did a reread of that recently and I'm pretty sure it was a different fic. Thanks! @alychelms
Love this one and recently read it, but not it. The fic I'm looking for was definitely in canon-setting

12. Hi, I really need help finding a fic I read on ao3 some time ago. It was a modern day fic, I believe set in America, where wei ying and lan zhan meet again at jiang yanli’s wedding. They both act awkward around each other and don’t really interact until they are all in the hotel lobby and wei ying is trying to leave because LZ…but yanli tells lan zhan to give him a ride because it’s suppose to be a long ride home (to a different state I believe and lan zhan will be driving by it either way so it’s ideal) Wei ying tries to reject the idea but LXC gets involved too and he’s like it’s a good idea. It’s like a long drive/road trip fic where they are forced to interact and make up. Thank you for your time and effort.
Hi, I wrote to you asking for fic #12 on your may 13th post. I ended up finding it. It was a wlw fic 7:15 from Chicago by milesofheart. I’m sorry for the inconvenience but thank you for this platform, allowing me to ask in the first place.

13. I need help finding a fic. I've looked through my AO3 history and had no luck. Here's what I remember: Its a modern AU (I dont recall if its modern Cultivation or modern without magic) WWX is on the outs the Jiangs but is close to the Nies. There is a scene where NHS puts put Nie braids into WWX hair, and LWJ is jealous and takes them out. WWX developed a software that the Nies distribute and the Jiangs use. When WWX does online tech support for the Jiangs he uses the alias MXY.

It was Wen Ning and Nis Huaisang centric. Chapter one was Wen Ning helping NHS escape qishan, chap 2 was NHS helping WN break outta the Jin dungeon and I think chap 3 was them talking about it??
I think Hua Cheng and Xie Lian made a very brief cameo in the third chapter?

16. Hi...
I am looking for this fic that I read a long time ago. It's a modern au and mpreg, where at the airport Wei ying went to the toilet and left a yuan with strangers (Mr & Madam Lan). Both of them thought twin jade especially lan zhan had a secret child as a yuan share similarities with the lan gene. If I'm not mistaken, Wei ying works together with lan zhan before leaving the country because of pregnancy and lan zhan doesn't even know about it. I don't remember why...🤔
Please help me find it. Thank you for your time 😊 @hazeylove89 //
Hi. I would hope to find this fic I read a long time ago. It's modern au where Wei ying leaving a yuan with stranger in airport for toilet break however the stranger is Mr &Mrs lan. Both of them thought a yuan is lan zhan child as a yuan share similarities with lan zhan. Btw this fic is mpreg n lan zhan don't know that Wei ying is pregnant.
Sorry if it's a difficult request. Thank you.

17. hello! trying to find a specific tumblr post (not here but out in the wild) about yllz wwx actually being a fairly solid ghost who died in the burial mounds and knows he's dead but expects the ones he loves to also pick up on that and mourn him/give offerings? but none of them do; they see solid and assume alive, so he's feeling hurt about it. pretty sure it's here on tumblr somewhere but will accept fic recs

i was looking for this fic where wwx and mianmian are dating (?) and wwx accidentally moans lwj's name while making out/intercourse. i am unable to find it anymore. could you please help?
thank you again.
hello! #19 from the latest fic finder (may 13th). yes! it does! wwx goes to lwj's and they 'talk' about whatever happened and then they end up having sex.
bummer that they made it private, thank you for the help though!
sounds like a fic that has been privated/hidden by Pancho I believe , in the story does wei ying end up going over to Lan zhan and they have sex?

20. hiii, i need help finding a fic on ao3 where lan wangji and wei wuxian time travel to the past and tell the sect leaders some form of info. the sect leaders are then nosy and weird about it so they end up using something to spy on them? lan xichen feels guilty but joins in anyway. in the scene that the sects see wwx and lwj are sitting and wwx is combing lwj's hair i think ? the two are aware that they're being watched as well. i don't remember much else, but i hope that's accurate enough. thank you so much.

Indra Ōtsutsuki was born first, born strongest, and born to lead. But when his birthright is stolen, he turns from the light and carves a path of destruction that stains the land in blood. I have a few, but here are the most interesting c:
1. Goji is my favorite character of Urban Kaiju, but i remember a post of yours where you show some things about him and his family, does he know that he wasnt planned like Bio or not? In fact i think it's a good chance to develop that on your story, but well, that Will be your choice, no want to put pressure or impose something<3, and the second one, does he have any hobbies besides his fanfiction?
2. Whis is the name of FinalGoji in your story? Im planning making a fanfic based on your story and i want to respect the most i can your canon
3. Which was your inspiration for creating SparkPlug? (Also, the drawings of her in the Bayverse aré my favorites, theyre so cool)
4. Are Primus and Unicron going to have relevance in some point?
1: he knows he wasn't planed but it doesn't affect him too much, his parents never made him feel lesser for it and it wasn't like he was the only accident kid. As for hobbies, Goji actually dose some sewing when he can. He was prone to ripping stuff on accident so his great grandmother Mizu decided to teach him how to sew. In his spare time he adds little punk flares to his clothing.
2: Final war's name is "Nobu", named after Oda Nobunaga. I wanted to names of the three to be inspired by the "if a bird dosn't sing" sayings. GMK's name being "Hideyoshi" and Ultima's name being "Ieyasu". Ultiam: "if a bird dosn't sing, wait for it", GMK: "if a bird dosn't sing, make it", Final wars: "if a bird dosn't sing, kill it"
3: Some inspirations for sparkplug was a pre existing OC i had named Luna, and a WW2 military motorcycle (that's why she's green). Also I just really wanted to make a character that stood out in a fun way.
4: yes, they will both be vary important

for the asoiaf/f&b oc creators out there, do you ever contemplate about how the fandom would argue over your character if they were ever real? if so, why? i'll start first (*´ェ`*)
Lucina Redwyne:
1. First off, making fun of Lucerys' death. The banquet Aegon held for Aemond assassinating Lucerys? She made a jest of how "The gods merely corrected a Strong mistake on their part". (🥁🥁🥁) 2. Becoming a key power to the Greens — Even before the Dance, she manipulated and charmed many lords to switch their allegiances to Aegon's. (though most are already Green-aligned in the original story .. i'm still deciding on which houses bcs i don't want my story to cause TOO MANY changes 😓 ...) 3. "She raised her daughter to become too much of a spoiled brat and molded her into someone who easily puts herself in danger of execution !!" — Moreso of an allegation than an actual argument, she has a daughter, Princess Aelora, whom lives past the Dance of the Dragons, and with that she became a close companion to Jaehaera, and refused to go into contact with anyone else but her, Alicent, and her little sister Viserra. Which was obviously a development of trust issues because Lucina is sent to be wed to House Peake by this time, and they had no one else around them, even more after both Jaehaera and Alicent's deaths did she become incredibly protective over Viserra. She shunned off her mother since her husband by then (Lord Unwin) was rumored to have killed Jaehaera, and when the Maiden's Day Ball occured and Lady Daenaera was chosen, Aelora acknowledged that nobody but Jaehaera is the 'true queen'. Risking herself from execution by Aegon III, though by his exhaustion he never did anything. Some would probably accuse her of letting Aelora's ambitiousness 'run too wild' to a point that she could be perceived as a 'spoiled brat'. When honestly it was just the toll of the civil war on the girl, who was five by the time the dance started btw.
Anyways I'm curious to see some of your own oc's and the possible controversy they'd cause (。・ω・。) Some of you guys' oc's are actually so well made it's insane 😭
#house of the dragon#fire and blood#a song of ice and fire#hotd#f&b#asoiaf#hotd oc#asoiaf oc#team green#team black#lucina probably did more but these are just the top of the things i could argue about her idk 😭#house of the dragon oc#fire and blood oc

Just a small edit to my Bucky/OC fanfic

Maybe next time he’ll make it in time, and she’ll survive. Maybe next time… Aveline was destined to live three lives: as the sister of America’s hero, as the daughter of a great engineer, and as Hydra’s legacy.

NFITH Ch. 1 - New Territory [Fox x OFC]
Warnings and Information: New to Coruscant and adjusting horribly to her new job as a senator’s aide, Ravena Olaen often finds herself lost on the best of days, and the target of her boss's wrath on the worst of them. Ravena could almost swear she’s being set up to fail as the job standards become more and more impossible. Fortunately she has someone in high places looking out for her before too long when she finds a friend in Coruscant's thankless protector: Marshal Commander Fox. It only takes a simple act of pity to dramatically change each other’s lives. This story started out as a reader-insert and is now an OC fic. Please see the author's commentary at the end for more details. Third Person POV of an original female character. Establishing chapter where Ravena moves to Coruscant for intentionally vague reasons, for the time being. Ravena does not meet Fox in this chapter, only an exceptionally generous (and sweet) older neighbor. Star Wars and real-world swearing. Narrative and stylistic use of italics.
Word count: 3,120
Moving to the centermost jewel of the Core Worlds for a career change was an impulsive decision spurred on by the start of the Clone Wars some time ago. Feelings of great uncertainty for her future in this developing chapter of her life became a dragging, tugging weight she could no longer ignore. What once provided anchorage to keep Ravena stable and sure threatened to drown her in the ever-shifting tide if she did not rid herself of these hindrances. And soon.
Something new was waiting for her on Coruscant – the city that never sleeps. Ravena just wouldn't be sure until she got there.
Loved ones rallied around her as she made preparations for the plunge, showing their support and lending many a helping hand in packing most of her life away in tidy little boxes and crates. It proved easy with their help. She truly couldn't have done it without them.
Choosing cherished items to leave behind was no walk in the park, but it proved easier than what would come next.
The fretful farewells and yawning maw of a whole new galactic timezone (or more) between her and her loved ones were bitter pills to swallow. The first coils of dread pooled in her stomach upon the drop out of hyperspace, slowly gnawing away all the while as Ravena met up with the moving company in the early morning.
Getting the keycards and address to her new Coruscanti apartment marked the start of a deep, aching loneliness.
There was no one to stand behind her in silent support when the new neighbors came sniffing around at the sight of the moving company, leaving her to greet them on her own. (Or, to try to.) None of the bittersweet laughter that lovingly tucked her holoalbums in boxes accompanied her when it came time to unpack them. No one would help her decide where she should put her travel-wilted houseplants when introducing a little greenery; something to fill up the empty space.
(The corner would have to do for now.)
Dinner was eaten alone.
Too travel-tired, and the whole of her body aching at the thought of a few minutes more on her feet after a busy afternoon of unpacking, Ravena purchased something from one of the many street vendors just outside the complex.
The signage was not in Galactic Basic, but thankfully the Dug vendor knew enough to provide “something filling” when she asked. Anything would do so long as it took the claws of the gripping hunger and filed them down. Credits changed hands for a carton of breaded nuna nuggets in a vegetable and grain blend. This was taken back upstairs and enjoyed quietly in the solitude of her kitchen, for a moment. Ravena savored the flavor of her first meal on a new planet.
It would probably be the best she’d partake of for a while.
To disrupt the unfamiliar room tone, she eventually tunes in to a radio drama for the first in a long time. Something to fill up the apartment with a little more sound until she was ready to unpack a final box of two for the night, then she would turn in.
The script’s corny and amateurish quality makes her quick to reconsider; the longer she listens, the more it sounds like an office drama. Complete with catty watercooler talk and power tripping micromanagers.
Yeah, that was a pass.
Ravena shuts off the radio and places the rest of her meal in the conservator for tomorrow.
Just enough progress has been made on a pair of boxes before Ravena is content with both the day’s developments and the prospect of finally getting some shut-eye.
Leaving the process of wrestling an unwieldy mattress in place when running on fumes likely hadn’t been the smartest idea, but she figured it should serve its purpose for draining the remainder of whatever energy reserves she had. To truly tire her out. Once it was settled in the bed frame, extracting her bed linens and dressing things up is all she has left before half-assing a nightly routine, then finally, sleep. Fixing the mattress cover and fitted sheet in place takes the most time, the rest proves a breeze.
The new sleeping space is capped off with the final addition of the comforter. A loved one packed Ravena a sleep set in the same box as the bed linens, meaning she didn’t have to sleep in the day’s now-dirty clothes or dig through any more boxes.
It smells like home.
And it’s the first time Ravena sits there—truly sits there—in the newness and the unfamiliarity of what she’s gotten herself into… and struggles not to cry. Denying the brine-water in her eyes its purpose, she wipes and washes everything down the drain instead. The cold creepings of loneliness and regret are placated with self-soothing nonsense.
I’m just tired. There was a lot of information to process today. Everyone feels completely overwhelmed their first day on Coruscant.
It could easily be the first of many days…
Finally reclining in bed, Ravena finds it hard to sleep now that there’s nothing else to occupy her mind with other than taking fuller notice of how full of sound this foreign environment is.
Understanding this planet is one massive, incomprehensible city, it’s easy to see why rather than the occasional, irregular sound, the noise pollution will be constant coming from countless sources.
The hummed harmonies of neon signs glowing in the smog. A million skylanes warbling and purring with speeder cabs in every color of the light spectrum. The steady, endless drum of foot traffic on a million and one walkways. The voices of trillions of galactic lifeforms living above and below the surface; all parading around on the planet that never sleeps.
Sleep eludes her all night, or proves restless when she winks out of consciousness however temporarily.
A neighbor from down the hall is not surprised to see Ravena propped up in the doorframe, folding over in exhaustion when she answers the door just before mid-morning. Forcing drooping eyelids back in place, she prays this is a quick matter as she greets the elderly woman perched on her welcome mat next to a large bag.
Ravena had been in the process of sniffing out which of the many boxes filled with kitchenware contained the caf machine in order to brew herself a cup of much-needed energy when there was a knock at the door.
“Can I help you…?”
The woman was Tholothian, judging by the scaled skullcap and tendrils bobbling over her shoulders from the force of a gentle, bubbly laugh. “Oh no, dear; I’m here to help you. May I come in?” Her smile is warm and kind; emphasized and complemented by both smile and age lines.
Ravena is fairly certain she saw the woman the other day when the movers brought in the first of the boxes, but couldn’t remember a name. Figuring there’s no harm, she invites her neighbor to come inside, promptly forgetting the rest of her manners until the acceptable moment has passed to offer to help with the woman’s belongings. The Tholothian has collected her sizable bag with ease and found a way to gracefully squeeze it past Ravena without so much as a bumped elbow before the woman’s sluggish brain can finish stringing together her question.
“Do you need any… help with that?”
This new neighbor is more than a little forgiving of a lapse in proper manners, fortunately for Ravena.
“I’m plenty strong in my old age, don’t you worry! Got up nice and early this morning to get some things that’ll help you settle in. Groceries, too.”
Now no longer quiet as sleepy, the young woman stands there, stunned.
“You- you brought me groceries?”
The neighbor hoists the bag a little higher than before with a smile. “I sure did. Where would you like me to put everything, dear?”
“T-the counters in the kitchen are fine…” Ravena stammers.
Her neighbor, who she still cannot recall the name of, carries the grocery-laden bag into the small kitchen and lines everything up on the countertop as instructed. Blue milk, a loaf of polystarch, eggs, caf creamer, and generic breakfast mixes are among the lot. Previously crammed in one singular bag, there are now fifty or so items to be put away.
“Here you are! A few essentials to get you started.”
That’s a few? Ravena would be speechless if it wasn’t the polite thing to thank her.
“I, uh… H-holy shit, thank you.”
“You’re welcome, sweetheart.” her neighbor replies cheerily. “Mrs. Helios is always here for her neighbors. I’m just a knock away down the hall in ol’ 4546Besh if you ever need me.”
Mrs. Helios. Tholothian. 4546Besh.
Ravena could remember that. (Probably.) Returning the favor, she properly introduces herself to Mrs. Helios while the two of them begin putting away the perishables. The conservator and cupboards look a little less barren than they had yesterday before long, and it takes her mind away from most of her nervousness. Introductions were some of her least favorite parts about meeting new people for one significant reason.
The more she talked, the more her natural dialect began to seep into each and every syllable; a certain betrayal that made it none too difficult for the well-studied to know which part of the galaxy she came from…
“My given name is Ravena; though “Vena” will equally suffice. Olaen is my family name.”
“Oh, what a lovely name,” Mrs. Helios replies. The smile she’s worn since stepping into Ravena’s apartment hardly budges. “It suits you well, I think! Now tell me, what part of the galaxy did you just move from?”
Mouth drying in an instant, Ravena swallows nervously. She dreads this question above all others.
“The… Quelii s-sector.”
Mrs. Helios’ smile doesn’t budge. In fact, it becomes knowing, and surprisingly even kinder. “My, you’ve come a long way from the Outer Rim Territories. And the Dathomir system, if I’m not mistaken! No wonder you look so tired…” With a deciding nod, she pats the top to one of the boxes of kitchenware where Ravena had been looking for the caf-maker and offers to help her tackle these next. “Why don’t we keep up that momentum, then? You look like you could use a hand.” she says.
“I would certainly appreciate it…” Ravena manages at last.
Steady progress is made over the next half hour (or so) until the beverage machine has been located. At that point, Ravena digs only long enough to find the caf powder and a suitable mug before the Tholothian encourages her to have a rest.
Mrs. Helios takes the opportunity to present her with a few more things out of her bag while the first cup has been set to brew.
The first is a sound device, the price sticker subjected to some rather thorough redacting of monetary value. Packaging is rather nondescript, save for a few lofty promises—“Over 150+ New And Improved Audio Files!”—but the machine itself has a rather sleek design when Ravena extracts it from the box. She finds it a happy coincidence that the color paired with a rich wood grain pattern is one of her favorites.
“Amber and wood… Oh, thank you, this is beautiful.”
“It was the only one they had in stock this morning, so I’m relieved the color isn’t an issue.” Mrs. Helios chuckles. “But don’t thank me just yet. It may help mask some of the… less pleasant ambience you’ll find here.”
Her reasoning sagely segues into the next item; handwritten advice on how to deal with the high amount of crime and pickpockets that plague the planet. The stack of hair-thin acrylic sheets must be half an inch tall, and again, handwritten. Each letter is so crisp—with a print-like quality to it—that it must’ve taken her several hours to write this much, and so tidily.
Ravena is kind of at a loss for words. Wondering if she’s made a terrible mistake uprooting her comfortable life to live here.
“Just how bad is the crime?”
“It’s not so bad here on the upper levels, dear. Biggest concern would be pickpockets, day to day. But the sub-levels; now those areas you’d really need to take care of yourself.” Mrs. Helios understands that’s not much comfort, so the subject is changed while Ravena fetches the finished cup of caf. (Another is set to percolate for good measure; she’ll likely take it for herself should Mrs. Helios decline.) “Speaking of upper levels… I also wrote down a few of the good shops not too far from here that you may find helpful as you’re settling in. Nice variety, and all that.”
Taking the first of the pages to study its directions, it tells her how many turns to take, nearby signage, and the types of shops she should see along the way. Ravena can tell Mrs. Helios has thought of everything; she even made a point to include the name and species of the shop-owners and the languages they speak, too.
Nursing her caf, she selects a passage at random.
Hasher; Dug. Speaks Basic, but be sure to greet him in Huttese first. The word “Hello” is “Achuta”.
“You must be pretty familiar with these shop owners.”
“I’ve been doing business with them for years,” Mrs. Helios confirms with a slow bob of her head.
Though proper introductions had been made only a little more than an hour ago (if the chronometer is to be believed), the elderly Tholotian has given Ravena the impression she’ll answer any question with honesty. She’s been given no reason for her to suspect otherwise so far, anyway.
“Are they all… friendly? Like you?”
Mrs. Helios has given her an ace up her sleeve, and she knows it. “They should be! If they aren’t for whatever reason, telling ‘em Mrs. Helios sent you their way ought to remind them of their manners. I won’t tolerate them being unkind to my neighbors just because I’ve known them for years.” Reaching across the narrow table, she takes the young woman’s hand and gives her forearm a gentle and reassuring pat.
Her smile lines deepen as she speaks full of confidence. “You’ll find your footing here in no time, Ravena. Don’t you worry.”
“I hope so…” Ravena replies, sleepy in her optimism.
Not much later, the caf-pot indicates the second cup set to brew has finished. The robust aroma wafting through the tiny apartment kitchen strengthens. Getting up, Ravena collects the mug full of bitter brew and offers it up to her new neighbor, asking if she’d like some sugar or cream to sweeten it. She should have thought to do the same to her own, but she’d been so desperate for a stimulant after a near-sleepless night that she only waited long enough for it to cool to a more tolerable temperature at which point it was drunk straight.
“That’s a very kind offer, but I’m afraid caf and I don’t agree with one another.” Mrs Helios declines. “I suspect I’m mildly allergic to caffeine; always seem to break out in hives after a cup. You go ahead and have it for me, dear.” she adds with some encouragement. And she promises there’s no sense worrying about the possibility of a contact allergy, either. More than a hundred broken cups of caf have been cleaned by her thin fingers throughout her lifetime without ill effect.
That brings up many questions, she’s all too sure, but she wants to give Ravena those answers another time. “Judging from the amount of boxes, you’re planning to be here for a while. There will be plenty of time to get to know one another better.” No sense rushing everything when there was the luxury of piecemealing.
“I came to Coruscant for a career change,” comes the stilted confession between stirring a few spoonfuls of sugar into a second cup of caf. “So I hope that’s true…”
The Tholothian’s expression quickly becomes one of mild interest. “Is that so? And do you have a career lined up for you already, Ravena?” Interest morphs into gentle disapproval and concern when she’s told there is no new job lined up as of yet. “Oh good galaxies, child. That won’t do at all… Coruscant can be such an expensive place to live. Well. In that case, I ought to give you some directions to the nearby career centers before long. You deserve a little time to settle in, first.”
First groceries, then a noise machine and a sizable stack of hand-written advice. Now Mrs. Helios is offering to help her find resources to pick up a new career with a bit of “tough love” sprinkled in.
Ravena must have accrued and cashed in some seriously good karma (or something) to have such a helpful neighbor just down the hall… It almost feels too good to be true. Her family would be as relieved as she is grateful to have met someone so generous and helpful so shortly after moving to Coruscant.
Someone who did not seem to give a damn about where she came from and treated her no less kindly because of it.
“Stars, I… I don’t know how to possibly thank you enough, Mrs. Helios…”
Her neighbor smiles, humored, as she begins gathering her things. She’s taken enough of the young woman’s time for the day; ought to let Ravena get back to setting the apartment in order and be on her way before she overstays her welcome. Boxes that have piled up in the joint search of the caf-maker are kicked aside for Mrs. Helios to help her reach the door unencumbered.
“Settle in first. Then you can fuss about thanking me,” the Tholothian tells her with a matronly smile and another deciding nod. “But there’s no pressure. This is new territory for you, dear. Your story is just getting started.”
That’s certainly one way of looking at it.
Ravena returns her pleasant smile. “Yeah… I guess you are right, Mrs. Helios.” The words were simple, but so very comforting to her.
Lingering at the door, she waits until Mrs. Helios makes it down to 4546Besh before slipping back inside her own apartment with a departing wave.
The gentle-eyed Tholotian is absolutely right.
The day is still young, and with the caf in her system, she should be able to make decent work on emptying those boxes if she worked in waves. The first night was rough, but it was behind her now. Given an incredible leg up by this generous neighbor, tonight should be better.
And tomorrow, Ravena would start properly exploring the planet at the heart of the Galactic Republic.

Feeling deja vu? Well, NFITH originally started out as an X Reader, as I mentioned in the "foreword", but I determined I needed to make a change recently. My visions for this story simply got too grand for a reader-insert, thus the transformation. Like with the original, this is your fair warning that this is going to be among the shortest in the series as chapters will (very likely) become longer as we progress.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars Roleplay Discord Server
Are you seeking an active Star Wars: The Clone Wars-era roleplay server? If you want a chill, safe space to discuss Star Wars, your OCs, art, fanfics, and much more, consider checking out our discord server! We are an 18+ Star Wars roleplay server primarily focused on the prequels and the Clone Wars era. We also have an additional post-Order 66/Empire subsection for those who want to roleplay and discuss events later in the Star Wars timeline.
More about the server:
We are an incredibly OC-friendly server that promotes the creation and development of Star Wars OCs. Whether your OC is established or brand new, you can roleplay them here.
You also have the opportunity to roleplay up to three canon characters if they’re free! We don’t allow doubles, but there are many other ways to discuss your favorite character with other fans if they’re already taken
Additional things we offer:
A positive environment to express yourself in a community.
For artists, you can open commissions and advertise your artwork business! We are very artist-friendly and pro-small businesses.
We have multiple channels to discuss books/novels/comics, video games, movies, and TV shows.
Active voice chat hangouts with various people around the globe!
An art streaming channel for artists who want to live share art they are working on.
Our roleplay server doesn’t have a “server-wide plot” but allows members complete control over the plots and stories they want to roleplay.
We offer various modes of roleplay, including 1:1 threads, group roleplays, and “in-character” chat roleplays, known as No-Plot.
We have multiple server sections that separate different topics, including NSFW, CxC (cloneshipping), and Dead Dove: Do Not Eat. You can opt in and out of these sections as you like.
NSFW/ERP (erotic roleplay) is allowed in its designated roleplay section. Same with CxC and Dead Dove topics.
We are incredibly LBGTQ+ and neurodivergent-friendly! However, we welcome everyone on our server, regardless of your identity. If you have made it to the end of this post and our server piques your interest, consider joining and giving us a chance!
