We have all fallen for Han's propaganda.

Look, Han might think he's a suave, smooth-talking pilot-slash-smuggler who can outsmart a whole ship of Imperials, and that Luke's a naive little farmboy who's never seen hyperspace before, but honestly?

The whole time on the Death Star, it was Luke calling the shots. Luke bluffed an officer into thinking he was a stormtrooper with a bad comm unit; Han started shooting as soon as the door was open. Luke spent about 2 seconds on the altruistic argument - "but they'll kill her!" - before figuring out Han's angle and swapping to the argument that would win. Luke pulled out a cell block number as soon as the guard asked; Han famously fumbled the first comm call.

We give Luke a bad rap for being an idealistic farm kid, but he's not stupid. He knows when he's being scammed, although he might be a bit loud about calling it out; he's ready for trouble and pretty on the ball with coming up with cover stories. He might expect the best of people - but you know what? It works! People want to live up to those expectations - so they do. Han comes back. His father turns from the Dark Side. People listen.

Han might think he's an idiot, but when you look at everything Han gets up to himself...

Finally the full view of Touya's hammer, elaborated in this post here. He doesn't use it in The Summer Camp Ambush Simulation fic nor have I actually written anything where it is in use, so I don't actually know when, or if, the hammer will even make an appearance.

All I know is they both look ready to smack a bitch.

Also, super thrilled with how the fire turned out in this one. Tried a new a technique and definitely looks better than my earlier attempt in the original comic Ambush Simulation.

In further evidence that I never fully left the Castlevania fandom, this one is inspired by one of my absolute favorite fighting dynamics/animations of all time:  The coordination and cooperation of Slogra and Gaibon. They’re one of the first boss villains you face in the Symphony of the Night video game and I was hella stoked with the Netflix depiction of their iconic fighting style.  There's a lot of animation studios that do badass fight scenes, but nobody does fight scenes like Powerhouse Animation.

Happy impending Autumn, everyone! I hope y'all are starting to get cozy (and maybe even doing some early Halloween decorating?), and that those of you heading back to school have a smooth return. Meanwhile, there's only a few short days until the first Saturday of this new month, which means it's time for another art party hosted by my guild, Verdant Shield [VS]!

For those who aren’t familiar with art parties, they’re a concept carried over from Final Fantasy XIV - in-game get-togethers for artists/writers/creatives of all types to hang out, chat, and create together! Get your favorite character/look together, head to the location, find someone that catches your eye, and create! Afterwards, everyone posts their creations in a shared tag (ours is #VSArtParty) so others can see, interact, and share! Tl;dr: the ‘goal’ of an art party isn’t to be drawn, but to draw others, and share with the community!

Time and /squadjoin information is under the cut, but will also be posted again via reblogs as the squads go up on the day of the party!

Location Information:

Coddler's Cove is the cute little jumping puzzle hidden behind the oft-contested quaggan settlement of Okarinoo in southeastern Timberline Falls. Since I don't think I've ever seen Okarinoo Waypoint uncontested, here's a quick outline of how to get into the JP area via Coil Waypoint instead - the entrance to the settlement is underwater, but the entrance to the JP itself is above the surface once you get in! Just watch out for krait along the way, and maybe lower your dialogue volume unless you plan to enjoy approximately 3 hours of quaggan lullabies!

Time & Squad Details:

As we always do, we’ll be having two parties - one on EU servers and one on NA ones - with an hour break in between. People tend to arrive early and/or jump between accounts as soon as the break comes up, so don’t be surprised to see tags and announcements going up ahead of schedule!

The first party will be on EU servers and begin at 9pm Central European Summer Time (aka 3pm Eastern Daylight Time or 5 hours before in-game reset). I’ll be hosting on my EU alt account, so to join either /squadjoin or whisper Aemryn of Dusk for an invite.

The second party will be on NA servers and begin at 7pm Eastern Daylight Time (aka 1am Central European Summer Time or an hour before in-game reset). I’ll be hosting this one on my main account, so to join either /squadjoin or whisper Khina al Amiri for an invite.

Closing Words:

One of these times I'll actually stick to my intended schedule of posting these a week before, but alas it is not this month.
