Week 52 of 2024

So we've come to the last week of 2024- it's so surreal that we've come to the last week of the year. This year has had its ups and downs, but through it all, we persisted, so take some time to pat yourself on the back.

This week I worked on three fics: 

Wrote a total of 5741 for Spreading Christmas Cheer

Wrote a total of 1,685 words for The Hybrid

Wrote a total of 97 words for Ever After an Everlaked Cinderella Story

My goal this year was not to write a lot of words but to finish stories.

I did write a lot - 😆- I wrote a grand total of 139,907

But I finished all of the WIP's below.

Henry hums in question.

“Your strumpet,” Pez says pointedly. “He’s a good one.”

“Oh. You really think so?”

“I know I joke, but Hazza, I’ve waited years for you to be this happy. If Alex does that for you? Then I owe him a great deal.”

“Pez…”

“It’s nice to see you content, is all,” Pez shrugs. “Now, if he could give me actionable tips for wooing his gorgeous sister and best friend…”

Henry groans good-naturedly. “Introducing you two was a mistake; you’re both menaces of the highest order.”

“We love you too, Henry.”

Hand-me-down husband,

Another’s discarded treasure

Catch the newly wanderer’s eye

Not merely enough to satisfy a curiosity

Further amplifying the despair and loneliness of this other woman’s sorrow.

Mothers who have come before me

Sisters currently walking with me

Daughters waiting to come through me

There is no hope in this barren womb

This lineage ends, and no one will mourn this calamity

This family’s foundation is like concrete Swiss cheese

Foolish to trust the love of those mothers

betrayal like a sport to they who disparage loyalty.

Shed this validation’s skin and let the blood flow till dry

Paltry doling never satisfying this deep needing

Leave, I think, it is easier now

This season ends, the unknown begins

Here's the hill I will die on: Whatever one does or doesn't think of TimKon as a ship or who Tim is dating now or in the future, his feelings for Conner were a fundamental part of who Tim Drake grew to be, they shaped him as a person and as a hero, and his feelings for Conner laid the groundwork of realizing Tim was queer. Tim doesn't get to where he is now without how he loved Kon.

Gdammit, I have written 40k words in a chapter of my fic again and I havent even reach where I want it to end.

Anyway, because I am stressed, here a extract of the chapter:

"Listen, dude," Duke started, keeping his tone even. "Batman and the Batfam—hell, even the Justice League—just want to protect you." Danny just gave him a flat look. "Please, Yellow Bird. You and I both know that’s not true." Duke sighed. Alright, time for another angle. "Okay, fine. But you do know that us birds never actually listen to Batman when it comes to this kind of stuff, right? We’re pretty wild. If B’s being a little bitch about something, we’ll do the opposite just to spite him." Danny perked up at that, grinning. "Sweet. Guess that makes me your birdies’ problem, then." Duke blinked. "...That’s not exactly what I meant." Danny just smirked and patted his shoulder. "Too late, already committed."
