Slimes - 1/10 Yes they can hurt you but you can run away easily. Not a problem. Until they get big. The big ones don't get through the storm barriers though

Whooperflowers - 3/10 Again mostly limited to outside of the city, but if the occational one sneaks in as a mint plant you may want to keep your distance. And call for guards

Human guards - 3/10 Just keep your head down around them. They're not paid enough for this they don't want to do this, but if you do do any sort of questionable rebellious activity around them and are caught then you're in trouble they get rewarded well for catching that

Boars - 4/10 Again limited to outside of the city but they can and will slam into you often fracturing a bone and healthcare in the city is. Near nonexistant

Cincins - 2/10 Look, outside of the city is a dangerous place! Don't go outside the wind barrier! These things don't hurt much but they're speedy and will chase you down

Eye of the Storm - 4/10 Decarabian's mass produced simple surveillance/guard anemo bots. They are made of wind and the city is already very windy so they blend in easily and are plentiful which means you can easily be followed for days without realizing and if you're not careful, you've given away the secret meeting place for your secret rebellion meetings. But if you follow the laws and rules you have nothing to fear — while these guys inspect your every action for something they can imprision you for whether you're guilty or not. Anemo evolved rats - 6/10 They no longer eat grain to survive but they can and will blow the grains out of your grain storage for their less evolved brethren to rejoice

Foxes - 5/10 Again they're sly little things who thrive in the cities and will try to steal food but they also catch mice and one may have invented wine so we'll dock a few points for them

Anemo evolved foxes - 6/10 Yes they now catch the anemo evolved rats but they're also very tricky little things who think they can take on a human carrying their hard-earned rations home and nine times out of ten they'll send a strong gust of wind to blow the food out of your hands into an alleyway before you even realize what's happening

Swirling Storms - 7/10 Decarabian is a powerful god, it's not hard for him to create offshoots of himself to quell any rebellion. While they're 'just' anemo energy, the dangerous thing about it is that it can inbue itself into anything lying around turning said object now into an anemo enemy. Common varients include

Swirled Tailoring - 6/10 Often taken right out of some surprised tailor's hands who was still in the process of sewing only for their clothes to come to life with the thread and needle still attached. Their offensive attacks with the needle aren't very strong but they excel at restraining their foes

Swirled Automaton - 6.5/10 All those stone buildings and stone carvings in the stone buildings means there is a lot of rock dust in the construction district, and the storm swirls up this dust into the form of a humanoid who stomps behind ready to punch you into the wall. Again we remind you health care is near nonexistant in old mondstadt

Swirled Dust Cloud - 3/10 If there isn't enough rock dust left over these clouds will be created instead. They're only rated three out of ten due to mostly obstructing your vision and slowing you down, though if the average life expectancy was any higher they'd get a 8/10 for how much breathing it in destroys your lungs

Swirled Flour - 6/10 The good thing about these is you can see the dust slowly gathering into a white cloud and have time to run. The bad news is once it also swirls a pyro source into itself the resulting explosion will burn and blast you away

Swirled Arrow - 7/10 Have you ever wanted to be impalled by dozens of arrows aimed at you all at once? With Swirling Storms, this process no longer requires dozens of bowman!

Anemo worms - 5/10 Another form of further-evolved creatures, these live in the ground but surface to absorb anemo, and can grow to dangerous sizes. Are known to cause sinkholes. If you stand where one surfaces, you will fall and get burried in the ground

Swirled Elements - 7/10 The prominent, aristocratic clans all live closer to Decarabian's tower, with nicer things to their names. Hence their wine is more pure, skilled in their use of heat for blacksmithing, candles burn more cleanly, gardens that actually contain life. Hence it's easier for the Swirling Storms to draw other elements to imbue itself with and inflict extra damage in whatever they possess and swirl. Alas, they still remain but a small fragment of Decarabian's power

Storming Wisps - 8/10 This is the start of Decarabian's actual magical defense. Do not mistake these for the cute and friendly wind wisps — these are knife sharp strands of wind that travel fast and will pierce anyone they deem an enemy

Storming Hounds - 9/10 Based off the wolves that reside outside of the barrier, they're large and will chase you down and bite and hold on to you, not letting you go. They work in packs and will round you into their traps either for soldiers to finish you off or to finish you off themselves

Anemo hoppers - 7/10 Proximity traps burried with one or two other elements to swirl when they're set off.

Anemo turrets - 8.5/10 They take a while to deploy themselves, but once they're deployed they shoot a steady stream of Storming Wisps straight at their foe

Decarabian's Soldiers - 10/10 Trained in both physical weapons and anemo use, not only are they dangerous up close putting yourself at risk of getting stabbed by a sword, but are also well versed in using the Storming Wisps and Hounds to capture their enemies before apprehending them. Many are also expert bowman. Luckily it seems many are also slowly tiring of Decarabian's rule and may be able to be swayed...

I'm F/n L/n, 15 years old, a refined young lady hailing from the nation of Fontaine now staying with my Grandmother Marie for the summer break in Mondstadt.

"I'll be there in a moment!" I called back as I set the clipboard on the counter and headed to the front.

As soon as I entered the lobby, I was greeted by the sight of a battered charred, and bloody Bennett.

I gasped, Rushing over to treat him.

"Are you okay!?!??"

Bennett gave an awkward smile as I immediately scanned his body for any severe injuries.

"I'm fine, Y/n!"

"You clearly not, your all bloody!" I said

I narrowed my eyes as I grabbed his hand and pulled him toward one of the examination rooms.

"Follow me."

A while before my Grandmother or I had arrived in Mondstadt, there had been increased injuries from members of the Adventures Guild.

Normally the nuns within the Church of Favonius would tend to all the injured Adventures, but now there were just too many.

New problems from there started to arise from there.

 Such as the nuns being unable to complete their own daily tasks and the church being crowded with injured adventures.

From there, the Knights of Favonious sent letters to clinics in Liyue Sumeru Snezhnaya and Fontaine, asking nurses and doctors for assistance.

One of those letters happened to be sent to my Grandmother's clinic in Fontaine, which led her to leave our home country to help the citizens of Mondstadt.

One of the most frequent visiting patients to the church had been this boy, whom I had been told personally by Deaconess Barbara.

And that leads us to now.

 As we both entered, I instructed him to sit on the bed so I could get a better look at him.

He had blood stains on his clothes and bruises on his cheeks.

"How did this even happen?" I asked.

A worried frown looked plastered on my face as I looked him over.

"Well...I went on an adventure with Razor and Fischl, and we ran into a camp of Hilichurls."

"Hilichurls can do this much damage?" I look out a bottle of rubbing alcohol, cotton balls, gauze tape and 

"Well, no, when I attacked the hilichurls with my pyro vision Fischl and Razor attacked with theirs, and from there...things went south..." Bennett said but began to trail off towards the end of his sentence.

 I nodded, knowing exactly what happened from there.

I cleaned Bennett's cuts and bruises with the rubbing alcohol as he continued recounting his tale to me.

"After that, we all headed back to the city to get healed up at the cathedral. But for some reason, all the nuns were gone. Even Barbara was nowhere to be seen."

"Huh? The nuns were gone?" I held a puzzled expression on my face.

"What could have possibly happened for all the nuns to be gone from the cathedral???"

"That's what I was wondering!"

Knowing Bennett, he may have somehow indirectly caused the nuns to leave the cathedral.

Or they may just be trying to avoid him altogether.

"O-ouch! that stings!" Bennett hissed from the sting of pain from me, cleaning the wounds.

"It'll be over momentarily."

Since the incident, Bennett had been coming to see me rather than going to the cathedral to get patched up.

"How does it feel now?"I asked

I turned my head towards Bennett to check on his current state.

 Bennett was rubbing his arm, attempting to smooth his soreness.

'Hmmm...'

"I once heard from my Grandmother that a kiss from a pure-hearted maiden is enough to relieve the soreness of a weary adventure," I say in a playful mood trying to lighten his spirits.

"H-Huh?" I saw his checks light up in a fiery hue.

'Cute...'

"I'm only kidding. Such things only happen in Fairytales." I say with a slight chuckle

He frowned glumly and looked down at his feet.

"If only such things could happen with my unlucky life."

I walked toward him with the gauze at hand. 

"Though I'm glad you'd still let someone as unlucky as me come to see you. You're so nice, pretty, and on top of that, really knowledgeable when it comes to medical treatment. Plus, I find you rather attra- you know what? I've been rambling for quite a bit."

Now it was my turn to blush.

Bennett looked like he was on the verge of passing out from how red he was.

"Are you insinuating that you won't mind getting a kiss from me?" I asked 

"W-well, no! But I honestly wouldn't mind if it's from you..." He starts to ramble once more as he tries to avert his gaze.

"I frankly won't mind kissing you either."

"W-what!?"

I grabbed one of Bennett's arms and began wrapping it in the gauze I had prepared.

"Come on, Bennett, it's not that hard. You just have to ask.

"Y-Y/n I..."

"Go on..." 

"Will you..."

"Hmmhmm"

" Could you...possibly"

"Can you...Kiss me?"

I smile, "Sure thing Bennett."

I leaned down and kissed him tenderly on the cheek.

"How do you feel?" 

"I actually feel a lot better," Bennett said.

A big smile was now spread across his face.

"I'm glad."

Chinese: 白垩与黑龙 (Baie yu Heilong) = “The White Chalk and the Black Dragon” 

Official English: “The Chalk Prince and the Dragon”

2.3 Dragonspine event

Chinese: 皑尘与雪影 (Aichen yu Xueying) = “White Dust and Snowy Shadows” 

Official English: “Shadows Amidst Snowstorms”

皑 from 白雪皑皑 (baixue aiai) usually refers the whiteness of snow specifically, so 皑尘 as “(snowy) white dust” is just their over-the-top way to say “snow”.

“Snowy Dust and Snowy Shadows” sounds too humorous though.

I’VE BEEN WANTING TO SAY THIS FOR A LONG TIME NOW: of course symbolism-wise it’s likely that “white dust” refers to Albedo, “snow” refers to the Cryo Whooperflower Albedo, and “shadow” refers to Primordial Albedo, with Durin encompassing all three as the shadow dragon that lies dead—like dust—in the snowy mountain.

HoYoverse being HoYoverse has found a way to say white and black without even using the hanzi for white (白) and black (黑) back in 2.3.

4.0 Fontaine Act I

Chinese: 白露与黑潮的序诗 (Bailu yu Heichao de Xushi) = Prelude of White Dew and Black Tides

Official English: “Prelude of Blancheur and Noirceur” 

with French terms translated: “Prelude of Whiteness and Blackness” or “Prelude of Innocence and Darkness”

Given the information in 4.0, I would assume that “white dew” refers to Furina and “black tides” refers to Neuvillette seeing how Furina’s always at the front of key visuals and Neuvillette’s always looming ominously over the background, but you can also think of it as innocence vs guilt, I suppose.

POETIC ALLUSION UPDATE: 白露 alludes to the Chinese poem “蒹葭”(Jianjia) = “Reed”

The poem is basically the narrator talking about not being able to reach their lover, who’s on the other side of the water (lake?)

The act’s Chinese title is already over-the-top—since most people would look at it and think “ah white and black and something about water, got it”—so localization’s aim is to match the fancy feel and not the accuracy ‘cause honestly if you localize all that into French it’d be too long. This makes sense…

Though, the implication that French holds such a high prestige that its mere presence is enough to balance out some loss of meaning from the Chinese title is… strange, now that I think of it.

白露与黑潮的序诗 (Prelude of White Dew and Black Tides) in French would be “Prélude de la rosée blanche et des marées noires”… I think. (Please correct me if I’m wrong.)

This time HoYoverse found another way to say white and black while using the hanzi characters AND STILL BE EXTRA BECAUSE THEY ALLUDED TO A CHINESE POEM OF COURSE THEY DID. ARCHONS, man…

Alright just to get it out of my system let me explain floranari more or Zahra! which is the flowers true name- They are an artificial Whooperflower that Tighnari accidently made in his experiments as this is an AU that's take part in normal verse but once he was left to run Avidya forest. He grew too obsessed with the new flora and his research and experimenting on new medicines (as we see in the windblume event) Basically the artificial Whooperflower took over his body and infected his brain. Tighnari is still alive btw but who knows how much longer the poor boy will last before Zahra takes over.

"This is my first time seeing a constellation~!"she exclaimed and handed the lady the device so she can see it too "who's that one for~, Ruby~?" She asked her friend with wondering eyes.

Susu was glad to see it too "I found it~ too~" she said with soft giggle.

He started to write down the things he might need and should get when he is in Liyue "with this, I can leave Lily any place and she should be fine, but of course, I won't~" he said as if he was replying to a question no one asked.

The adventurer let a sigh and shook his head with a soft smile resting on his face "she truly had it her way with me, my dear daughter" he said with lighthearted giggle as he kept working on that one page before he moves to a new one to start a new diet schedule for the Captain as a way to say thank you to him.

“Aww, you guys are too sweet~” Rubedo said. “You’re right, even if I don’t have a constellation, I’m still a person!” He looked back up at the doll-like constellation and tried to remember why he was so curious about it before.

“Some legends from Inazuma say that hundreds of years ago, the Electro Archon made a living puppet with her own hands to hold her Gnosis for safekeeping. But he was too soft-hearted for the task, so she let him go free. No one knows what happened to him after that. According to expert astrologists, Peregrinus is his constellation, and his birthday wasn’t too long ago.”

“You really do care for that girl, huh?” Nigredo thought. He’d silently taken a seat on one of the beds as he observed the young researcher. “The ‘her’ he’s talking about… Is he referring to Lily’s real mother? Is she out in the desert somewhere?”

“It is entirely possible,” Durin replied in the gardener’s head. “Especially if she is a student of the Akademiya. Many of them leave everything behind to pursue their research.”
