And he's like what?

I don't usually give a crap about grammar but I DO think it's important to try to show the bare minimum of thoughtfulness and respect when using words from languages that are from marginalized ethnic groups or often appropriated from in your own culture, especially when those words are often misused in harmful ways.

holy shit ao3 updates come in hebrew now. but. since hebrew has gendered second person (like. male/female "you", with the male usually considered the default unless talking to a group of entirely or at least almost entirely ppl who use like. female form of speech for themselves). the translation team made a conscious effort to write everything in aforementioned female "you" and this is lowkey jarring to see ngl

Small thing but I think Nona hears Kevin's name as "Kevin" is because all the older kids know what their names mean, so that comes across to her. When she and Hot Sauce are together during naptime, it sounds like Nona says Born in the Morning's name in the wrong language.

Meanwhile Kevin has no clue, so the name just comes across as two random syllables
