Yogg and Cambria

So, the absolutely amazing and talented @coffeeandtoastforbreakfast designed two characters for me! I wanted to pay for a commission, but they aren’t ready to do that, so I’ll be writing for them from a prompt to “pay” for this awesomeness. They also are working on Yogg’s messed up, Lovecraftian body horror form, so that’s super exciting and I know how well they can do it from their AFO horror sketches!

I was talking to them about my story and they are such a great listener and loved it enough to do this for me. It means so much to me!

This is a character sheet they made for Yogg’s human form. He’s the Big Bad of my story proper, but this is how he shows up in flashbacks leading to the reveal of who he really is. In a nutshell: he and the main character, Ember, had a relationship in the past that spanned decades. Unbeknownst to him, they ended up having a child together before Ember, finding out who he really is and him going cuckoo, pushed him back into the Kingdom of the Dead. Their daughter’s name is Cambria, but she doesn’t know her parentage until later.

Cambria has a Bearded Dragon named Butters(after my own Beardie) that seems to be sentient…it could have to do with her inate powers and she’s subconsiously making it reality….

Yogg’s name is a direct reference to Yog Sothoth from Lovecraft as he is my favorite Old One. He tells Ember his name is Al when they meet and pretends he’s just a regular everyday Shadow Ancient. She doesn’t like the other Ancients and barely knows anything about them so decides to play along with his weird name.

Yogg is a BIG GUY. He’s overweight and took the form of an Italian-American due to where he first formed when coming to Earth. His weight is a direct correlation to him being the God of Death, Devourer of Souls.

I am working on releasing a separate blog featuring a writing experiment I am doing. It is written in the first-person of a character name Tas, a scholar trying to catalogue the knowledge of The Ancients. Within his tome, he explains the history of the Universe and how The Ancients came to be and how they operate. I’ll be sharing that as soon as it gets going. Se hizo de madrugada y yo sin poder dormir, solo podía pensar en escribir. Pero no pienso en nada más que en ti a estas horas, eres como la estrofa más bonita de una canción que a mi mente le gusta repetir. Es que generas en mi tantas cosas, que a pesar de darme más libertad la escritura, siento que ni así podría terminar de decir, ni hacerte entender como realmente me siento. A tu lado siento una calma que contrarresta la tensión que me pone tenerte cerca. Cuando no estamos solas, no me atrevo ni a mirarte, pues temo que mi rostro me delate, no quiero que los demás sepan cuánto te quiero besar y de las mil maneras que te quiero comer. Que esto, y todo esto que está pasando, sea solo nuestro, esta vez, por fin. No puedo negar quererte para mi, toda, completamente para mi gusto y delirio, pero no me siento capaz de arrebatar tu libertad, no quiero ser quien te corte las alas de esta nueva soltería que estás pasando, yo mejor que nadie sabe lo que es pasar casi de una relación en otra y no estar sola en mucho tiempo, pero en mi soledad, quiero que estés tú, como también quiero que quieras que yo esté contigo, quiero ser tu confidente, tu amiga, tu amante y en un futuro tu novia si en algún momento me lo permites ser.

Qué fastidio mantener distancia con quién quieres tener pegada a ti casi constantemente. Mi intensidad no ha cambiado, y lo sabes bien, me mantengo dentro de todas las locuras que podría hacer y tú sabes que haría, no malas claro, pero si fuese por mi, iría a verte más, a buscarte al trabajo, te compraría más cosas con la excusa de solo verte... y me caga sólo decir sin poder actuar realmente, pero me frena sentir que te puedo asustar. Ya no quiero causarte daño, no quiero que salgas herida debido a mi por ningún motivo, no quiero hacer ni el más mínimo detalle que pueda dolerte, simplemente quiero hacerte feliz, que a mi lado, puedas sentir tranquilidad y perder ese miedo a que algo malo pasará, porque aquí estaré para mostrarte que más que cosas malas, muchas cosas bonitas serán las que vendrán, y que todo problema puede ser visto de distintas formas hasta enconcontrar la solución. Entiendo perfectamente tu miedo, creo que nos tuvimos que volver a encontrar a esta altura de mi vida para poder entenderlo un poco más, entiendo lo que es haber confiado en alguien de manera sincera y que no haya estado a la altura, yo también dudaría en darle otra oportunidad a esa persona teniendo en cuenta cuánto me hirió habiendo podido evitar todo, pero no fue así, no lo pensó bien e hizo las cosas como pasaron, el error ya está hecho y no hay vuelta atrás. Hay quienes dicen que el corazón es como un plato, que una vez roto, aunque lo rearmes, roto estará, pero también existe la técnica Kintsugi, en donde aceptando lo roto que está, se pegan las piezas con pigmentos dorados o de oro, haciendo así que se luzcan las grietas para que tenga una nueva vida y otra oportunidad de brillar con más fuerza.
