I was a little worried that the Mil-Liminal podcast wouldn't be as good as I hoped, since to my knowledge you write comics and I wasn't sure how well it would translate to the podcast format. GODDAMN DID YOU PROVE ME WRONG. Your pilot episode is fuckin epic! Lowkey in love with the bit where Caro is like. Okay now close your eyes (I did). And then slowly builds up this cool picture of what their little liminal world is like. Also the opening music fuckin slaps, did you make it? Are you going to upload the music on its own because I want to listen to it.. So fuckin cool very excited to see more of this

HAHA me too honestly, i was/am pretty terrified to put myself out there in a more tangible way like this, like...letting people perceive me as a story teller instead of just a writer/artist. THANK YOU FOR TELLING ME YOU LIKED IT omg this means everything to me honestly. Im so glad your enjoying it so far, i cant wait to get the real ep up in a couple days! thank you thank you thank you i need the validation food so much haha!

As for the music, i didnt make it but it was made for me. i had a pretty good idea what i wanted, and my extremely talented partner @snakepixel dabbles in music as well as game development and he created it for me a couple years ago, when i first had the idea to create the podcast. (he is also responsible for the logo designs of both Mil-Liminal and Seemingly Dark!) He says its just midi and isnt sure it would translate well to just be listened too on its own, but ill throw it here for you so you can hear it without Caro talking over it. The more ominous music throughout the pod is the same music, he slowed it down and took out some of the sounds to create it. Here's the main intro before it loops <3

It's Wednesday and I have something to share! Thanks for the tags today @artsyunderstudy and @facewithoutheart, I'm so so excited by what you're both working on, two of my favourite WIPs in the game right now!

It's been a while, but I've finally finished up my draft of Chapter 4 of Hiding Out In The Open. Hoping to post by the middle of this month once my lovely beta readers have a chance to help me make it better. For now, here's a snippet of Baz POV. Perhaps you'll recall the premise revolves around post-Watford Snowbaz bonding over a psychology podcast; they're discussing an episode about the psychology of disgust here. Under the cut because, well, it's a bit disgusting (your CW is this: the real life Hidden Brain ep this references is called Crickets and Cannibals 😂).

I curl my lip. “Just because lobster was once considered the vermin of the sea doesn’t mean I’m going to eat a bloody chocolate covered cricket.” My diet is gruesome enough as it is—I chugged the blood of four solidly-built London alley rats on the way here alone—which I suspect is the subtext of this whole display.  Snow basically confirms it. (He practically winks at me.) “Don’t yuck my yum, Baz,” he says breezily, popping another “chocolate” into his mouth with a flourish. (This time he chews with his mouth closed at least. I shudder at every crunch.) He swallows. “And I won’t yuck yours.” It’s all incredibly confusing. Before last week, every allusion and innuendo seemed to indicate that he found my unique nutritional requirements to be utterly loathsome. (Which they, of course, are.) I roll my eyes. “Where do we draw the line then, Snow? Andes plane crash victim crisps?”  He screws his face up. “First off: Gross. And”—he pauses to lick chocolate off his fingers—“you know full well I said I’d be okay with being eaten, not the other way round.” (Crowley below, how did I get here?)

Here are some of my favorite examples of this:

Dimension 20: A Court of Candy (I watched one episode and was enamored by the food stuff, like yum yum yum I'm eating it up thank you chefs)

The Amelia Project (a delightfully morbid interview style podcast, where the absurdity ramps up more and more each season, and although there is a Straight Man or two, the whimsy never dies down)

Monstrous Agonies (a write-in advice show style podcast, where monsters are as commonplace as pens in an office supply store. Monsters write in needing advice, and that advice is of course monster related, but coded in many different ways: queer, bipoc, abused, privelidged [some people need a wakeup call] , etc like if you've ever felt like a monster or had someone call you a monster this podcast is for you)

Victoriocity (steam punk meets the 1890s meets modern day meets detective audio drama, really can't explain it but the whimsy and the silliness and the seriousness is all there, really recommend this one for the voice acting)

Wooden Overcoats (imagine if Victoriocity, which I just described, wasn't steam punk at all, but Ambiguous Time, and instead of a detective drama, it's more like an interpersonal drama, with the very same energy, and that absolutely incredible level of detail in the voice acting; simply tremendous and I'm only on the second season)

If anyone has their own favorite whimsical, weird, 'yes and' type of podcast/webcomic/novel(like Hitchhiker's Guide!!!!) , please please please recommend it to me!! And if you like any of the aforementioned podcasts, please yell at me about them!! I love podcasts! I love audio drama! I love to consume content!!!
