Hi, it's me, the not-anymore-anon who asked about Amphoreus trailers. I, too, have been full of far too much glee about Blade's two second appearance lol, but what I wanted to ask about is actually poor Cloud-Piercer! Because you wrote about how it's so important to Dan Heng as something that enabled him to live his life in freedom (which, yeah), so when I saw Cloud-Piercer snapped in half I really cringed and instantly remembered that scene where Dan Heng thanks Blade.

So, my question, or I should say questions: Any particular opinions about it? Is the Dan Heng in your head low-key screaming about it lol? And what do you think that might mean in canon? Like, is Dan Heng going to use more cloudhymn for the rest of Amphoreus by necessity? Which I admittedly would like to see. The Home Decor event has proven that he's been getting more comfortable with coudhymn (which was my headcanon, so it was nice to have that confirmed). Also, Cloud-Piercer is pretty definitely getting fixed up sooner or later, I should think, but who'll do it? Is that how we're finally getting our renheng reunion, because Dan Heng aks Blade for help? And what will Blade think of that? (Side-note: Is it just me, or does the probably-red ribbon Dan Heng used to temporarily fix up Cloud-Piercer look like Blade's lol?)

As you can see, I have been extremely overthinking this lmao, but Hoyo probably didn't snap Dan Heng's emotional support weapon for no reason, so I can't help but wonder. And then I wondered if you had any thoughts about it you might want to share!

I am REALLY hoping they do a little time rollback and fix Cloud Piercer right up again because if it is broken I might actually start crying. That's one of the few pieces of Yingxing left and he can't make anymore because he's fucked up his hands as Blade 😭😭😭 Time reversal does seem like the most likely outcome of them breaking it though. They'd have to redo his animations if they actually destroyed Cloud Piercer, and I can't see them doing that.

....also i'm not actually sure what red ribbon you're talking about? i have mostly been looping the stellaron hunters, to be perfectly honest (if that part of the video ends up with the most played thing, know that it's my fault lol). are you talking about this by any chance?

Cause cloud piercer has always had that wrap. (i have not looked up reference images of cloud piercer multiple times. why would i do that ahahaha....ha... i also hold zero head canons about yingxing putting that red wrap there to remind df of him. seeing as most of the other instances of red on df's design are also yingxing related. earings... bracer's rope...)

I would imagine that Dan Heng is not happy about this, honestly. Cloud Piercer is one of the few things he's had since he left jail, and he built his life in freedom around his ability to use it so effectively. Like, we think of him like an archivist (or at least I do? does the rest of the fandom also do that?), but he's technically a guard. He was a guard on all the IPC ships he boarded too. That's basically his career path. Even if he has no memory of Yingxing tied to the spear, it's definitely something precious to him. We know that he spends a lot of time keeping it polished up and such, so having it broken like this... I'm sure he's internally screaming, yes. Even if he's too emotionally dead outside to externally scream lol (i should stop bullying him, he's grieving his emotional support weapon rip)

To be honest, I think they snapped Cloud Piercer for one very simple reason: they needed to establish that not!kevin is OP. So they fucked up both the boys. That's it. And that's also why I think they'll give us a simple (lol) solution like turning back time to fix it. I don't expect it to be broken for very long in the course of the story.

Dan Heng cleaning with cloudhymn honestly reduced me to tears I was laughing so hard. He tries SO hard to be the one with the brain cell, and then he goes and does shit like that. God, i love him. But no, I don't really think we'll be seeing much Cloudhymn from him. Not unless we can get him back to his full Vidyadhara state. He does seem to be working to improve his ability to use it while playing at human, but I doubt he'll be relying on it in combat. You don't want to use a weapon you can't trust. His control and power seems to be greatly enhanced when he has his horns out, but otherwise, nah. Cloud Piercer or bust.

God, I want Blade in the story again so so so so much, but I don't think we'll see him on Amphoreus. (They're likely saving the Renheng reunion for a future Xianzhou update as that's where their story is centered.) We MIGHT see the Stellaron Hunters outside of Amphoreus helping the others, but I highly doubt we'll see them on the planet itself. Largely, because I'm not sure they could even get to Amphoreus without the help of a memokeeper. Maybe Elio could get around that with his future knowledge, but I doubt.

I do hold some hope that we might get some flashbacks from the Trailblazer remembering their time with the Stellaron Hunters though. It's probably not gonna happen, but they were in the trailer in conjunction with the Trailblazer, and I live in hope, okay? I desperately want to know what Kafka and the Trailblazer were to each other. Is she actually the deadbeat mom? I must know.

A/N: Oh, what is this? A new series? Are you going to stick around with me for this one too? I hope you do :) This baby has been in the works for a while, but updates will be slower for this one. I'm an adult with responsibilities after all.

Judge Andrés Corrales walked up to the counter and paid for his coffee. His jovial smile bid farewell to his favorite barista as he left the coffee shop. his feet took him outside and down the sidewalk towards the bridge. 

Corrales’ mind was full and empty at the same time. Thoughts of that night’s dinner with Rosana were second only to the upcoming trial in his agenda. He lit a cigar, puffing it a couple of times and watching the smoke rise and fade in the air. 

The case of the kiddie trafficker. Prosecution was asking for life, but Corrales’ knew the guy would get off with less than ten years. The latest addition of a few zeroes in his offshore account made sure of that. 

Corrales stopped in the middle of the bridge. He looked out into the distance, the sunset was photo worthy, and he regretted not having brought his camera to capture it. He had no idea he would have never had a chance to use it anyway, as someone else had him in her scope. 

Avispa looks through the scope of her rifle to her target, her finger tightening on the trigger as she waits for the perfect moment. She has waited for the last two days, without sleep or nourishment, only to catch a glimpse of Corrales. That’s everything she needed. 

In less than a second, and from 400 meters away, a perfect hole in his temple sent Judge Corrales over the bridge railing and to a watery grave. 

Tatú was always punctual with her calls, and this time was not an exception.

“Las Almas? It’s in Mexico, isn’t it?” Avispa’s voice was clipped, half-listening to the call and half-focused in not forgetting anything in the dirty motel she had been staying in. A few crispy American dollars granted her a very secluded stay under a fake name. 

“Yes. I can secure transport for you to DF, but you’re on your own afterwards,” Tatú’s voice was always serious, business-like. It’s been like that ever since they crossed paths ten years prior. Avispa knew that deep down - very deep down, Tatú cared about her. 

“Any contact points I should pay attention to?” Avispa slung her bag over her shoulder, walking out of the motel room and into the busy streets, easily blending in with the tourist traffic. 

“Los Vaqueros are after the Las Almas cartel, a good starting point, but they’re Mexican Special Forces so tread carefully.”

Mexican Special Forces? Avispa twisted her mouth in apprehension. They would never collaborate with her, not easily at least. “Alright, I’ll see what I can do.”

“When the job is done, send me a photograph to the secure line,” Tatú said as a farewell, before ending the call. She was never down for chit chat. 

Avispa threw the phone in a drain, and disappeared into the crowd. 

Once upon a time, a family friend told a young girl she looked like her male cousin through a toothy smile. That comment may have been slightly traumatizing to a prepubescent girl who was already dealing with her body image, but now years later was remembered in irony. Disguised as a man, Avispa waved through the nearly empty corridors of Las Almas, following her latest lead.

The man, a balding, bearded boss-wannabe reached a house in the outskirts, and Avispa observed from the shadows. Two heavily armed guards in suits greeted the man and let him in. A quick glance to the roofs confirmed to her that there were more guards on duty, watching the perimeter like vultures. 

A displeased sneer quirked up her lip, and Avispa retreated into the shadows and away into the Las Almas treacherous night. No matter how good she was at sneaking into places, even she knew that throwing herself in blindly with no support would only put her in unnecessary danger. 

She would have to make contact with Los Vaqueros after all.

“Oh wow, a dragon! We thought there were no more dragons left in the universe… Wait til I tell Jaania about this!”

“Oh there’s loads here…wait you said mecha. Like Kordana? She’s this huge structure deep in Sho’Nuff forest full of gears and whirry things and defence robots.”

“I don’t know Kordana personally, but she sure does sound like a mech!”

“Wow…small universe huh.”

“Very. Oh wait, I have to go, I’m being called for deployment!”

“I should go too, there’s probably an undead attack somewhere. Good to meet you!”

“You too!”

“Thanks for letting me try out this portal thing, Cysero!” The Hero scooped Draco up and deposited them on their shoulders. “See ya!”

“Watch out for low flying eyeballs!” Cysero called after the Hero, expression tightening ever so slightly as he glanced over at the mirror they had been speaking into.

Thats a good description of what Kafka did with that hoard of kaijus. And a good theory as well. Not helped for Kafka that some buildings and stores had still working cameras before they went out and got footage of his little rampage of sorts.

That one, along with one that gains more credence over the next 7 years (Kafka's 25 when he has both Kikoru and Reno with the boy comming three years before Kikoru did) to come. Once the town is rebuild, the DF makes a little research station to see if Troublemaker stays here long and just check out the local kaiju population as well since that attacked showed a very large amount of different kaijus that very few towns has.

They learn Troublemaker only comes here around the summer seasons most of the time. They have seen him a few times in spring, fall and winter as well, but study shows he preferes to be here in summer. So this is one of the few know spots where they know Troublemaker visits or stay for a long time. They never really managed to find his nest.

Honestly speaking Sonic, I should really tell you the file and what the DF knows of Troublemaker before the main events. Speically after he became 'orphaned'. But I'll save that bit when we get near the end, right now its more important I tell you what happens when Kafka finally wakes up. And he don't have a good time about it.

See, Isao ain't the only one who Kafka knows among the force. Yep, Mina was part of the group that left to save the town in a real hurry. When she heard what was happening she gave Isao very little choice, specially when she told him she has visit the town many times in her childhood and knew the place. Which was really valuable to have given the situation as she was able to tell the other officers where to go and such. And her canon made for good crowd control when some kaijus would try and break the morbid barricade Kafka had made up.

So she ended up seeing Tabiki, Hina, Reno and Kikoru together and this was how she learned of Kafka's current status as a foster dad. With very judgemental looks from Tabiki and Hina, the latter of which said in just enough low of a voice that basically went "Why do you care? You and Kafka haven't seen each other for years." Hina is exactly happy with how things are with between her grandson and his old childhood friend.

So yeah, this is how that really awkward talk came about. Mina actually visit the room Kafka is staying at while he recovers, which is a heart attack waiting let me tell you when she does visit. At a time she know neither Tabiki, Hina nor the kids would interfere with. The two pretty much agree on a later meeting so Kafka can explain, with Mina herself admiting she too have some things to clear up with Kafka.

Its about a week or two after the attack, and Isao making arrangements for both Tabiki and Hina to stay at a nice little hotel while the house gets rebuild, that Reno and Kikoru finally gets a proper explaintion. Along with getting to see various pictures of Proto and Akari's different forms and many other things. Hina is very relieved that this stuff survived the rampage and damage done to the house, as it is needed for the kids to understand what is really going on with Kafka and the Hibino family as a whole.

And like you said yourself Sonic, things gets very odd betweent Kafka and the kids for a good while. The only good part being that neither Reno nor Kikoru seems be actually mad at him for now.

That's definitely gonna be awkward when Kafka wakes up only to see Mina after so long. (He probably knows his dad and grandma aren't happy with her at all for zero contact.) Of course there's the obvious explanation to his two young wards about his unique heritage.

The Classical Side of the Mournful Morning

As tower and fortress fall, we watch with disbelieving stare and numbly hear the anguished cries that pierce the ash-filled air. Carl Daw

It is said that if all words fail, music speaks, and nothing expresses the emotions felt during and after September 11, 2001, known to me as The Mournful Morning.

Hence this Spotify playlist I crafted.

The playlist commences with an excerpt from Michael Gordon's piece from The Sad Park, written for string quartet and electronics. While Gordon personally saw the plane hit the South Tower of the former Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in Lower Manhattan, millions more heard about what he witnessed via news reports or - in my case as a 6th grader - principals who relayed the news on their school intercoms.

While I was at school, my DPs and DGPs were in the waiting room of the chemo clinic. They thought the news footage of the attacks was a made-for-TV disaster film, but they realized that it was tragically anything but. They found out after my late DGF's chemo session that the Twin Towers were no more.

Then, it segues into Mrs M. E. Her Funeral Tears for the Death of her Husband. This short 17th century song cycle by John Danyel evokes the disbelief and sorrow of the wives whose husbands on the planes that struck the Twin Towers, the Pentagon, and a rural field in PA phoned their last words to them mid-air on their cell or GTE Airfones. The lyrics evoke the emotions the widows-to-be felt on the receiving end of those phone conversations, then on terra firma.

For great effect, I used three separate countertenors for each track of the cycle: Iestyn Davies and Michael and Alexander Chance, in that order.

Leopold Stokowski's arrangement of JS Bach's adagio from BWV 564 evokes the passengers on Flight 93 raiding the cockpit in which the hijackers steered the plane en route to the US Capitol or the White House. They succeeded in thwarting their plans, but not without crashing in the said field in PA, killing all onboard.

The arrangement segues into the alto aria of Cantata BWV 198, sung by Charles Brett. It honors the female first responders who died at Ground Zero in NYC as well as the female flight attendants (especially Betty Ong, who served passengers on AA Flight 11 and notified the AA reservations center of the hijacking) and passengers who helped thwart hijackers' plans to crash UA Flight 93 into the Capitol or the White House. Fittingly, the lyrics are translated as:

How contentedly the heroine died! How courageously her spirit struggled As death's arm overcame her, Before he conquered her breast.

And we are talking about several heroines here.

Moving onto the Classical Era, the final movement of the WA Mozart Requiem and the dirge from the Ludwig Van Beethoven Eroica Symphony honor the friar and first victim of the WTC attacks, Mychal Judge. Barbara Bonney's rendition of Franz Schubert's Ave Maria - per the German text - evokes the thoughts of the women trapped in the rubble of the former Twin Towers, struggling to live.

For those who didn't make it, the English translation of one movement of Johannes Brahms's German Requiem (upon which Barbara Buehlman masterfully arranged it for concert band), the funeral march from Frederic Chopin's second piano sonata, Edward Elgar's "Nimrod" from Enigma Variations make fitting tributes to them.

Remo Giazotto's Adagio in G minor, based on a lost manuscript of one of Tomaso Albinoni's church sonatas, makes one imagine a slew of church services that immediately followed after the attacks. Samuel Barber's Agnus Dei (performed by VOCES8) and Vladimir Vavilov's Ave Maria (sung by Libera) evoke Catholics' prayers through the intercession of the Virgin Mary in that time of of great death and anxiety as well as the happy repose of the souls.

As the playlist nears its end, mourning continues to morph into hope through Eric Ewazen's concert band work, A Hymn for the Lost and the Living. More rays of hope shine as it segues on to Howard Goodall’s choral anthem, Spared. Reeling from both his NJ friend Brian Aschinger’s death by cancer in August 2001 and the horrific sights he saw in Manhattan while en route to film a segment of his documentary, Great Dates, that next month, he wrote it in memory of the victims.

John Rutter's The Lord Bless You and Keep You has listeners evoke the 1-year-anniversary memorial services and Masses being held, resolve strengthened and victims remembered. Charles Ives's Variations on America represent the increased patriotism after that dark chapter in US history. Finally, Richard Goldman’s and Robert Leist's concert band arrangement of the Gravement from Bach's Fantasia in G Major, BWV 572, reinforces the strengthened sense of patriotism, all the while representing the ascension of innocent souls who entered eternal rest on that tragic day.

Note on the above: It doesn't include my post-round 3 match against DF where I got slaughtered 2-0.

This was the biggest group we've ever drafted with and it was a lot of fun. Noisy as hell though.

The standings above should raise on red flags: How the hell did three people go 3-0? Even worse, how did GL, ML, and CC all have zero match wins?

I messed up the results for one match in round one and only found out midway through round 3. The numbers above are the actual results. I'm not self-flagelating, I just wish I didn't do that.

The other regret was doing byes the way I did. I let mtgarena randomly pick the first one, and then use whatever the normal Swiss procedure is from there. I honestly forgot how much byes suck.

So what would I have done differently? I have two options:

I still draft, but don't pair up. I just play games against people while they're waiting for the next round to start. This would have been slightly disappointing for me, but really not bad at all.

Best of 1 Round Robin, followed by a final round. Everyone plays everyone else once. Best record plays second best record, 3rd plays 4th, etc. The game you played in the round robin counts as game 1 for that match. I think that would be fun.

Again, the tone of this is a little negative, but I had an excellent time. Just thinking about how it could go from a 7 or 8 to a 9 or 10.

As far as cube design takeaways, not much to mention. I did expand to 378 to accommodate 9x3x14. The cube was at 375 to allow 8x3x15 + an extra pack for Booster Tutor, but I took Booster Tutor out, at least for now.

This was the first draft with a few more 3 colour spells, and only Sidisi got played. I think that's reasonable.

Oh yeah, and timed rounds rock.

Diary is important for some people like me. I was trained to have a diary since I was 13 here but I wasn't yet aware and I wasn't able to maintain putting entries on my diary...My mental awareness was not consistent coz I was a virgin and I was got by my Aunt here who is married to a japanese when I was 13. I never hide some gloomy facts to people whom I can feel that is mature and I can trust.

Some couple used "a couple's Diary or his and her Diary". Hmm... For example me and Borgy will be a confirmed bf and gf or let's say husband and wife. For example we are that couple who keep a diary with us. It is either I have my own Diary or he has his own Diary,it is either we have a place where we can read our own diary or let's say we can swap Diary. It depends coz sometimes there are emotions that we can't verbalize.

Diary means you put your heart's content. You put everything and it can be like this that some angels can read or some good friends. Or you have a private Diary for some important thing like the "Couple's Diary or His & Her Diary" that only 2 of us can read. But we can also create a "Friendship Diary" but I lost them, Iost my fucking friends...

If it is a "Friendship Diary" it should be like this here in Tumbler where all of our friends can access...

As I've set it up above, there are discrete tickets at a fixed price, and the question is "you have $w, tickets are $c, do you buy one y/n?" which I'd guess you'd need to answer by stetting some threshold w_min(c), such that you stop playing once your wealth drops below that level. This would make the whole thing into some kind of markov process with an absorbing state

Sentomaru's trying to evacuate the island, telling the people that Ohara may happen to them

The shaky alliance are still fighting off the Seraphim, who keep getting up from the combo attacks

Zoro finally clicks on to the fact that the Seraphim look like King, prompting Shaka to confirm that the Seraphim have Lunarian properties

Did we know that it was Punk Hazard they were testing on them? I mean it makes sense given the DF but still

We get the gag of Zoro listing the clear telltale signs of a Lunarian though, but at least they know how to fight them now

Shaka meanwhile suddenly has a clue where the Stella body may be

And back to Nami, turns out she was being attacked by S-Shark

Unnecessary ass shot though

Seems like S-Shark has been busy, beheading Brook and beating down Edison, which only allows Nami to convince herself against her instincts to not hurt a child

The thunderbolt seems to hit hard, but S-Shark sank into the ground to flank Nami

Brook was about to make the save but then Sanji charged in, triggered of course by her scream last chapter

Although Sanji hit S-Shark hard it is worth reminding that the fire is still on its back when he hit them, but I can already tell that twitter's gonna zero in on it

WAIT! SANJI'S TWIRLY BROW CHANGED SIDES AGAIN!! I wonder if that means he's gonna tap into Vinsmoke powers again, maybe he has an anger shift?

With Team Lilith, Lilith manages to deter S-Snake with the Bubble gun

Turns out the Bubble Gun has the same effect as Sea Prism, and Sea Prism still works on Seraphim because of the Green Blood

Lilith's lil pose as Usopp and Pythagoras cheer for her XD

Franky uses the bubble to properly subdue S-Snake, but falls prey to the Seraphim's crocodile tears

Hit with a Perfume Femur, Franky is partially stoned, while Usopp and Lilith get fully stoned by being hit with her cutesy act and DF

Is this the thing I read Usopp would 'never do'? Honestly I thought it was something more dramatic than being caught in the DF powers

I wonder if Franky got fully stoned in transition, but since we know through Boa vs Blackbeard that only the user can undo the Stoning it's worrying for us right now

I do at least hope that Franky (and Usopp and Lilith but not as much of a priority) get unstoned given how an arc about Vegapunk always felt like it was gonna be Franky Season

The place the Stella is being kept is called a 'Devil Fruit Laboratory'

Shaka does arrive there to surprise, so I guess it wasn't him after all

This was a good chapter to go back to, of course people will be upset that we didn't go back to Shanks but come on you had to have seen that coming? I do feel like while it makes sense for Sanji to jump in to rescue Nami that it still diminishes Brook being there, they split into groups for a reason after all. Also this means that Stussy and Jinbe were left out.

We have all the Seraphim accounted for though, only Pythagoras and maybe Franky are still active around S-Snake, but it was a shame to see Lilith and Usopp shafted even if it's temporarily. Key note though that Seraphim have the same DF weakness, could use those Sea Prism cuffs Lucci and Kaku had on some of them.

Sentomaru evacuating the island is important too, 100 Warships, an Admiral and a Gorosei are on the way, so it'll definitely be worse than Ohara, Egghead is gonna turn into a Warzone.

As for our ktok, it sounds metallic, but Vegapunk didn't recognize them from afar, so still hard to say, but we might get the reveal next week.
