The most infuriating form of sanism is this idea that mentally ill people/people with mental disorders are just too stupid or too unenlightened to know how to be a proper, well-adjusted person

So many therapists have ignored signs of my unwellness simply because they assumed I was just... being stupid, and I just needed educating about why I'm acting disordered (apparently, mental disorders stop disordering you once you are condescendingly told why you're just disordered and dumb, who knew (sarcasm)).

Like, I could tell them that I knew my behaviour wasn't "rational," wasn't "reasonable" to do or believe and I'd still be treated like I was so dumb I needed hand-holding and scolding about why I'm acting disordered.

I truly wish that people would be able to take the idea of guidance and stop twisting it into "I am superior and enlightened and the people I am trying to help are stupid and wrong and beneath me!"

5 year dog plan updates: I think I've identified a breed (and 3 potential breeders), I have more clearly figured out what I don't want and what my life style will not fit and most important I need more experience with dogs in general

#so over a year ago i started doing research on owner training a service dog and i was in contact with a GSD breeder who had a puppy left #over from their last litter who was very hamdler engaged (this obviously fell through because i realized i was just too short on time before #uni and now knowing more about temperaments and genetics i wouldn't go gsd but this was a great breeder)#with what i know know i a) do not want a herding breed it would be incredibly overwhelming and b) would prefer a medium sized dog (if i find #a poodle or lab breeder I'm obsessed with I'd still go that route unfortunately my fav poodle breeder with multi sd's in their line/#offspring is in Arizona and that's basically a no go #my favourite dogs are mid sized gun dogs which do not make good prospects (see the stinky girl in her window bird watching rn) i also have #tons of experience with a Brittany spaniel and know my personal dream dog is very similar (slightly lower energy and prey drive) which puts #show-line English springer spaniels as the breed I'd be happy with and while they do great as police sniffer dogs and therapy dogs there #aren't tons as service dogs because they can be too high energy and unfocused (i know that their energy would not be a big issue if we #create good settling habits) and i really appreciate them being soft mouthed for certain tasks and my apartment is very close to tons of #river paths so we are good for breed specific enrichment and fun #i just really want more dog sitting experience and to sit in on training sessions with other people over the next few years #because I've stalked ess breeder who is so transparent and has tons of show experience and does incredible socialization #they would also just be really good people to talk to about the breed #i just there are reasons the popular breeds are popular but i find herding dogs incredibly overwhelming and labs and goldens put everything #in their mouths and end up sick from it (I've also mcas reactions after petting all the goldens in my neighborhood)#and poodles are smarter than me and i am a low maintenance grooming girl (i could handle shave done with poms though)#i have no poodle experience outside badly bred Doodles #of popular breeds the one I'd work best with is a bernese mountain dog but they are a grooming challenge and I'm going to live in a smallish #apartment and exclusively use public transit (the fab 3 would also struggle a bit with this since they are mid-large(

I haven’t exactly been bearposting all summer or anything so you’re all a bit contextless, but I just looked up at the explore.org/bears stream that’s just kind of always on at my house, and I saw a bear at the far wall, in The Office, and I recognized him as 151 Walker based on a mannerism, and I said to myself, “Oh, cool, I haven’t seen 151 in a while, I feel like it’s been all 32 and 821 and 164 the last few days”, and I went to look at the comments, and one of the comments was a picture of this bear, 151 Walker, captioned “so handsome”, and while I’m not judging anyone’s taste in handsome bears, I recognize him by how he’s constantly flapping his tongue around licking his chops or something, just, such an incredibly goofy behavior that I would not have described as handsome.

#164 is probably my (and a lot of people’s) favorite bear of the summer #he’s still pretty young and goofy #he has his own special fishing spot right literally under/in the waterfall so people call #him Shower Bear #but it also means that often when another bear has caught a fish on the lip of the falls he will stand up and beg for a scrap #it’s very silly and (anthropomorphizing) seems childlike but it also gives you a good view of the SIZE of the lad #he’s going to be a big bear it seems like #gosh maybe I should have been bearposting all summer #you could have heard all about how I can’t distinguish between the 900s (903 907 909 910)#who to the best of my knowledge are medium-dark bears who often fish on the lip of the falls #I think 909 is the one who tosses her head all the time? but I suspect her sister 910 does that do #too*#the best part about watching the bears and getting Pretty Ok I Guess? at id’ing them #is that I will absolutely not recognize any of them in the spring #oh oh oh the other distinguishing feature of the 900s is their light ears - medium-dark bear with light ears on the lip? 90something to me #and I didn’t even mention 747 even though he is another good candidate for favorite bear #he’s been very chill this year #he’s got a very recognizable silhouette #like a slug #and he’s a very pretty medium reddish brown

#remembering that the average american medium sized town is larger than the largest city in my region.............#and i mean. everyone keeps on wanting to open a cafe or something in the area but nobody wants to do the work so #also we dont get enough tourists to sustain it #there is a cafe a mountain over. its very nice even. they can go there #anyway the best place for me to hang out in my childhood was either an abandoned quarry or a random pile of logs in the wood #really exciting places....

Discovering little known, long broken up bands with one album who are solidly mediocre is a delight

#been listening to gàidhlig punk last night and a live early version of i useta love her by the band davy carton was in before saw doctors #all I can say is long abandoned soundcloud and youtube accounts are treasures #but you can’t understate the importance of picking up books and cds in charity shops by people you’ve never heard of #maybe the cover is nice or the title makes you laugh #I have a medium sized selection of mediocre alt rock bands from the mid 2000s #and I must stress this point. they *cannot* be amazing or the best musicians ever who just needed publicity #they have to be solidly mediocre that’s half the fun #anyway shout out to the song ‘someone else’ by the band A #and all 5 of Struck’s songs on bandcamp #and royseven and entombed and frightened rabbit and ash who are reasonably famous but I own too many of #their cds for a band that are okay at best #my own post #draft saved on dec 3rd #not all the bands I mentioned are broken up they’re just ones I’ve come across randomly

currently thinking about getting an ipad for my classes because of the sheer amount of articles i’m going to need to read (fun fact: i already have one that’s 90 pages that we need to read for an assignment due this coming wednesday) and i’d be getting the pencil too…

was wondering if anyone had recommendations as far as the type of screen protector they use and like also. pencil tips? if i should even change that? kind of scrambling with that — at least the screen protector situation because i know some people use different kinds, so if anyone has any recommendations or advice…. would be greatly welcomed 🤲🤲🤲🤲
