A Deep Dive into Milkvan and Byler's Development: If Milkvan Was Endgame All Along, Why Was it Written Like This???

SO. I've been rewatching st with my mother, who's never seen it before. And she was a fan of milkvan throughout seasons 1 and 2. Viewing those seasons again I could see why, they're cute. However, come season 3 and INSTANT distaste. And, listen, my mother is not the consciously shipping gal. She simply routes for main character pairings as writers intend, doesn't read between the lines, doesn't nothing. And she does NOT know my own opinions on the pairing. In other words, completely unbiased, uninternet drama influenced eyes. We've now reached season 3 and, after getting through a chunk of it, I asked her,

"so what do you think of Mike and El?"

and she expressed to me that they seem to be, quote:

"not very good together."

She said El's character doesn't suit the way she's acting now (in the first few episodes, concerning Mike), that Mike is more likeable and interesting when he's away from her. She doesn't like the way they ditched the party, and when it comes to their 'making out' the scenes are seen by her from Hopper's perspective (in other words, distasteful). She claimed that they'd be much better characters as friends.

And ya know what, she's right. And I mean like - duh, that's what we've been saying all this time, I'm not stating anything new here. But guys, wouldn't it be strange if the central couple of the show, pivotal that it is liked by audiences and is rooted for by them as they are THE pair, would be so dislikable like this? So uninteresting, so cliche.

I mean, okay, let's do a little mental experiment I like to do to test if I'm not just acting delulu. Let's play a game. In this game, milkvan ARE meant to be endgame. They are in love, they were all along, and they're here to draw in viewers and appease all El stans. Now, seasons 1 and 2 their relationship is honestly fine. Surface level, yeah, people will watch and appreciate them. They perfectly blend in with all the other neat pairings of the seasons, and have their own unique character traits to stand out as a main couple.

Just pretending our mate Will doesn't exist, we now get into season 3. Now, writers have nothing to lose here. If you've finished season 2, you probably like milkvan already. The issue is that they're already together now, so what's the conflict going to be? The arc? And every central couple needs that conflict to stay juicy.

Just take a look:

Jancy: quarrels, struggle to understand one another

Jopper: not yet together, one sided? will they won't they

Lumax: ...

Lumax? Lumax. Huh, guess they were simply together. Some loveable bickering, maintained a friendly dynamic while clearly in closer proximity. Well then, writers can do the same for milkvan right? Well, yes easily. But one might argue that since they are supposed to be THE pairing they need more going on between them than that. So what'll it be? Well, it seems that writers thought,

"hey, why not break them up?"

ok so.. that's a bit risky. I mean you want people to like this ship, if you break them up then that threats: 1. there being a disliking to one or both characters, 2. coming off generic if done incorrectly, 3. the break up might make no sense considering how in love they came off as just a season ago. But hey.. it could work, if done right. Some kind of misunderstanding, similar to Jancy. Maybe an argument leading to a sudden parting. I mean, yeah, Yeah! I can see that. Perhaps Mike is being too overprotective whilst El's trying to sacrifice herself for something, so she NEEDS to separate herself from him attempting to hurt him less. Or, I dunno, something akin. What's crucial is that us, AS THE AUDIENCE, still know them to be deeply in love. I mean, we have to still want them to be together. And we've seen couple trouble before. Just take a look at Lumax season 4 - did you or did you not want the best for both of them as a pair? You most likely did. See, it's doable. So did people like milkvan season 3 the same way, even after a separation plot? No.

Okay well, there are obviously those who'll always love milkvan no matter but, see, season 3 tainted it. "We need to write them like this cause it's more realistic to teenager behavior" my ars. You can make it messy without making it icky. Not only did it sour their unique dynamic, it flabbergastingly stomped on Mike as a character.

Honestly, I feel Mike has always been a mild struggle to write. Season 1 his motivations were 'find Will' (who still doesn't exist in our mind game yet shh) and 'protect El'. This worked well for him. Afterwards though, El and Will became more separate plots to him. But as a main character it remained integral that he be closely linked to them somehow. This sets him apart from Lucas and Dustin, who can easily be given any arc any season as their plots have the flexibility of a side quest nature. Since what Mike does is meant to matter more - with there probably being a better way of phrasing that but you know what I mean - it's harder knowing what he'll do when El and Will (who we'll GET to sh.) are their own separate people. And Mike is just a boy, he doesn't have super powers and he isn't a cop, which leaves there even less for him to do which is of significance. Season 2 writers decided upon having him support Will's arc, making himself of enough relevance by being able to take credit for some Will development in the story, and the plots that surrounded that, and then Mike was thrown a little bone by being the one to come up with the idea of burning those vines in the finale.

Truthfully, you don't really remember Mike's deeds much when reminiscing the series. It isn't like Dustin who's bond with Dart sticks to everyone, or Nancy and Jonathan responsible for kicking out Hawkins Lab. This is due to them, again, being able to traverse all sorts of adventures without limits. But my guy Mike can't do dat. Sadly, this kind of leads to him coming of as a little.. well... insignificant. And I know I know, the Mike truthers are gonna come at my throat. And hey! I love him too. I only want the best for my boy.

This makes season 3 a unique case cause it seems that, for the plot they decided they wanted, writers actually had to almost entirely change his character. I mean mate s2 Mike and s3 Mike are two different peoples, don't even. And I don't believe that the Duffers had their story and character turnouts completely drawn out from the very start at all. If I was to guess, I'd assume they have vague ideas of little plots they plan to include in future, but there is definitely a lot that has come unpredicted or changed throughout st's runtime. And one of those phenomenons are Michael Wheeler. So they decided to make this guy a di-

So they decided to make him more douchy, more movie typical teenage guy. It's not as if he wholly sucked, he didn't, but he didn't really do much. Whined about his girlfriend, separated the party. I mean what even was his arc? (UnLESS–)

You see, if milkvan is written to be loved, then season 3 was strike one. All of its charm was stripped away. It seems they had some cute scenes after their reconciliation, but it's not enough. It's just sort of

"oh, ok, so they're happy with eachother now. yayy."

and Stranger Things should want to be anything but boring. Sure they often enjoy indulging in tropes, but they always do something different with them. Something standoutish. And from this point on milkvan just got dull. Either writers ran out of ideas or lost interest, honestly (still with our mind game of telling ourselves they're meant to be).

But it's okay. Look, so season 3 was a bit rocky, maybe lost a couple of fans for the guys, but it is salvageable. Easily, easily. Looks like we want a plot of Mike struggling to tell El he loves her. Great! Much to work with.

So let's get into it. Season 4! Choices were... made. And, okay, now we can't go any further without bringing in our boy Will.

Mike is intrinsically tied to Will and El and has been from the start. Maybe Will was more of an accident. Maybe s1 Will was just a plot device for Mike, then s2 Will was a plot device again and Mike needed to be there as the main boy character. Come season 3 and it seems their relationship still matters. Will was sidelined - hard - so most of Mike's moments revolved around El. But as his bond with Mike is the only that's been properly built up, that's the only friend we'll get him interacting with in a way that matters. So the Mike and Will tie continues!

But that does not have to be the case for season 4. Now the writers have a chance.

They made Will gay.

Ok so.. ok so yeah that's fine. Yeah! I mean they didn't have to do that, might put them in hot water with the bylers since milkvan is their golden beauty but.. you know what no no that's okay. He's been hinted at being queer since episode 1, why not make it canon! Cool that works. Explore that, especially since we now have Vecna who can easily target Will for this. Give him a boyfriend! Or a guy crush. He's at a new school now? That's cool. Maybe we can explore some new male character Will's taken interest in. Hey maybe he meets someone who interests him which rises to surface his whole sexuality plot and-

he's in love with Mike.

Do you have any thoughts on how Snape would have acted if Harry had been sorted into Slytherin? While I can’t help but feel that there would be a part of him who would want to joyously gloat about James Potter’s son ending up in Slytherin, I can’t help but wonder if he wouldn’t still hold a mountain of resentment that would be incorrectly targeted towards Harry? I think one of the key aspects of Snape and Harry's relationship is that they don't really know each other and don't get a chance to. If you look at how the rest of the staff treat Snape, there seems to be respect for him and while I'm not sure how many of his colleagues actively like him, they certainly don't dislike him. We see this in how the rest of the staff treat teachers they don't like, such as Lockhart and Umbridge:

...Dumbledore announcing that, unfortunately, Professor Lockhart would be unable to return next year, owing to the fact that he needed to go away and get his memory back. Quite a few of the teachers joined in the cheering that greeted this news.

The upshot of it all was that Professor Umbridge spent her first afternoon as headmistress running all over the school answering the summonses of the other teachers, none of whom seemed able to rid their rooms of the fireworks without her. When the final bell rang and the students were heading back to Gryffindor Tower with their bags, Harry saw, with immense satisfaction, a disheveled and soot- blackened Umbridge tottering sweaty-faced from Professor Flitwick’s classroom.  “Thank you so much, Professor!” said Professor Flitwick in his squeaky little voice. “I could have got rid of the sparklers myself, of course, but I wasn’t sure whether I had the authority...”  Beaming, he closed his classroom door in her snarling face.

This leads me to think that since the staff have had some opportunity to get to know Snape, even if it's superficially (given how guarded he is), their treatment of him indicates that he's not as terrible and repugnant as characters like Harry make him out to be. And while it's possible that they were deferential to him because he can be intimidating, I don't really see a bunch of talented, established Hogwarts professors cowering. After all, Umbridge had more authority than Dumbledore and even fired a staff member, but the rest of the teachers didn't seem to be affected by whether or not they were intimidated by her. They also literally took on Voldemort and his army to protect the school.

The reason Snape is able to project so much of James onto Harry is because they don't know each other outside of the classroom. This is the same reason why Harry is able to resent Snape so much. We see a chink in both their armors during Occlumency lessons in OoTP, as Harry shows curiosity and Snape encourages it, but before they can start to get a fuller picture of one another as people, Harry wrecks it by invading Snape's privacy when he goes into the pensieve. It's integral to the plot - and the big reveal at the end of DH - that these two characters maintain a resentful distance.

If Harry had been sorted into Slytherin, they would have had more of a chance to get to know each other. The same way Harry was told by other Gryffindors as soon as he started school that Snape was strict, mean, and played favorites, if he'd been sorted in Slytherin he would have been influenced by their bias in the other direction, ie. in favor of Snape (and potentially against McGonagall given the rivalry with Gryffindor). Whatever resentment Snape had against James would have had an opportunity to soften over time as he inevitably got to know Harry better.

By his fifth year Harry would have been sitting down with Snape, not McGonagall, to discuss his career ambitions, and as his head of house Snape would have known Harry enough to advise him. We see throughout the books that heads of house like McGonagall pay attention to students even if they don't interact with them all that much directly. Had Snape had the opportunity to do so with Harry, and had he been motivated by his role as his head of house to defend him where necessary, he would have gotten to know Harry as an individual enough that whatever of James that rested in Harry's facial features would have fallen by the wayside.

That's only one part of how Snape relates to Harry, though. He's vocal about James, his friends, and his hatred of them, but he never mentions Lily once. We know Snape is a guarded man who frowns on wearing your heart on your sleeve:

‘I told you to empty yourself of emotion!’ ‘Yeah? Well, I’m finding that hard at the moment,’ Harry snarled. ‘Then you will find yourself easy prey for the Dark Lord!’ said Snape savagely. ‘Fools who wear their hearts proudly on their sleeves, who cannot control their emotions, who wallow in sad memories and allow themselves to be provoked so easily - weak people, in other words - they stand no chance against his powers! He will penetrate your mind with absurd ease, Potter!’ ‘I am not weak,’ said Harry in a low voice, fury now pumping through him so that he thought he might attack Snape in a moment. ‘Then prove it! Master yourself!’ spat Snape.

So it's no surprise that he doesn't mention Lily. He protected Harry at risk to his own life for the sake of honoring Lily's sacrifice. Clearly their friendship meant the world to him and left an impact, and because it's so tied up in emotion for him, Snape never talks about it. He isn't the kind of man to show emotion willingly, as we know. He smirks, he speaks softly when angry, he hisses, and he only loses the tight grip he has on expressing his feelings when he's triggered. There's a fair bit of information on the page about his relationship with James and how he feels about it, and how much of it he projects onto Harry (though I think that diminishes significantly from OotP on, especially after Sirius' death), but nothing at all about Lily except in his very private moments with Dumbledore.

What's even less straightforward is how much of Lily he sees in Harry. I wonder whether this was intentional on the author's part, but I'm curious whether Snape might get angry when Harry sasses him and talks back because his personality is so much like his mother's. So while there isn't much to go on, I think it's interesting to consider whether if Harry had been sorted into Slytherin, Snape might not have seen more of Lily in him given the opportunity to get to know each other a bit, and whether he might not have appreciated that about him.

Not to absolve Toshiro of anything, but I wish Izutsumi could know about that little moment

It's not a big courageous gesture, but. Izutsumi, it's another someone who saw you and cared about you.

Okay, I've seen this version of the dialogue around a bit and I've been so confused where it comes from? Apparently it's in the anime dub, specifically. Both translations of the manga use pretty similar language, as does the original sub of the anime:

It is in an official source now, so I don't think it's exactly wrong to treat it as canon, but... even then, I dunno. I'm not sure I view the interaction as Shuro being supportive of Izutsumi there, and Maizuru as being the bad guy.

I understand that a lot of people really dislike Maizuru, some to the point of discomfort, and that's fine - I have similar character types that can make me too uncomfortable to like/engage with, so I do understand the negative feelings around her.

But I like her! I think she's an intriguing, messy character. I think she's someone further along in the path of compliance with a toxic system, who has settled into her role as both perpetrator and victim within it, and I think that's interesting.

Maizuru acted as she thought she was supposed to, and it hurt Izutsumi, but I don't necessarily think she singles her out or treats her particularly different from the others in her care... I mean, the hag spell is something she used on Shuro too, when he was younger. She fucking SUCKS at childcare, and she treats people like the are sure to eventually fall into their roles. But she also didn't choose to "purchase" Izutsumi, or to be put in charge of her.

She's only 15 years older than Shuro. At what age was she put in charge of caring for him? Did anyone help show her how to do that? Toshitsugu certainly didn't, and his wife resents Maizuru. Also, for that matter, how old was Maizuru when her affair with Toshitsugu started... and how old was he?

She didn't choose the role of childcare at all, as far as I can tell. She was a ninja, before that, and she tried to use that training to raise kids, and it went uhhhh badly! Shocking! But I don't honestly know that like Hien or Benichidori would do that much better, if they had to make that transition.

I think it's interesting Maizuru's hag is specifically pointed out as using its weapon incorrectly. I feel like that's not just meaningful as a lesson for Izutsumi... I think it says something about its creator, as well.

I don't personally think Maizuru asking after her was a matter of control rather than concern (it's probably both, really), and don't think Shuro's response is a matter of concern rather than disinterest (maybe that is both too, though).

Even if it was, though, I actually like that Izutsumi isn't there to see it. Shuro should respect her when she's not around just as much (if not more) than when she is. I think it's valuable for people to do well by someone they've hurt (or who has been hurt in the name of the system they benefit from) without that person's gratitude even being an option.

Maybe this is just my personal experience, but I sure know that there are people no longer in my life from whom a choice to respect my boundaries, that I never learn of, would make a positive impact on me. A more positive impact, specifically, than if they made the exact same choice in a way where I'm aware of it.

Sometimes the wounds need time, and sometimes they will never fully heal at all. Sometimes distance is a kindness. Sometimes "she'll make her way back if she wants to," means she'll never make her way back, you know?

Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but that's my wish for Izutsumi, honestly. May she never be asked to grapple with feelings of the people who enslaved her, good or bad. May she never have to think of them again, if she so chooses.

Havana is always warm, always welcoming and soft, with sunlight flooding through streets of beige and gold, full of laughter and peaceful existence.

Even at night, it feels like the warmth wraps around people like a soft coat, summer air resting between the buildings and mingling with the scent of the sea, darkness enlightened by warm lanterns and candles. The sound of joyful music, shanties and drunken laughter has become the soundtrack of your nights as bartender in the tavern and restaurant which are owned by your father, and you like to say that Havana is a place of joy, no matter the time of day.

You've done this job since your teenage years, are used to bar fights and lusting gazes resting on you, know how to handle men who try to let their hands wander, think they can whistle at you or spit out crude and naughty things.

Most of them know that it will only get them a ban from the house, or in worst case, a beating from your main visitors or an arrest by the guards, but sometimes, there still are idiots who try it, out of pure stupidity and falsely placed ego.

Citizens of Havana adore your tavern as a centre of the city, they know how to behave and have their fun in peace, but the pirates docking on the shore are a different story.

You can see it in their gazes, in the way they talk, the way they stride through the streets like they own them and the houses forming them, that they're looking for provocation, hungry for a fight.

Thankfully, most of them are more of an inconvience and not an actual threat, and you know how to handle them, know that a tavern is a pirate's favourite place, which gives you a slight advantage against them, even if it's just out of their sympathy for the rum you pour them.

It doesn't diminish your dislike for them, despite them being your costumers.

Pirates are a disease, you've always been told. And yet, you can't help but feel a thrill in your veins, feel your heart leap and your legs trembling when a strong hand grabs your chin from behind, gently, sensually lifts your head.

The soft light filling the dim walls of the empty, closed tavern flickers in your vision, soft tears of passion melting it to a blur along with the dark of the late night and a breathed, blissful sigh leaves your lips, forced out of you by the way the body of the man behind you rocks once more against you.

Pirates are the worst of the worst, you learned early in your life. And Edward Kenway is so good at being a pirate, at getting what he wants, that he might be something even worse, armed with those mischievous eyes, his charming smirk and skilled fingers.

You did not question the leathern bracers wrapped around his lower arms, the hidden blades you saw shimmering in the dim light when you served him and his men, and you didn't question the hooded robe hanging over the back of his chair, could only focus on the white lace-up shirt on his body, the cleavage that slightly revealed the tattoos spreading over his chest.

It was no surprise and nothing new when one of his men hit on you, spitting rude words from a drunk tongue in an attempt to seduce you. What did surprise you was how fast Adéwalé grabbed him by the scruff like a puppy to kick him out of the tavern, and the way Edward apologized to you, genuinely and gentle.

Most men did not act like this when they came to drink in your tavern, only laughed when their comrades harrassed a girl. It did not fit your world view, disturbed the evil picture you carried of pirates all these years of your life.

You couldn't help but smile at the way Edward looked at you, a mixture of apologetic and enthrilled, felt your breath hitch when he asked you what he could offer to beg your forgiveness.

The way his hands are now roaming your body, his husked breaths against your ear and his body pressed against yours is not what you had in mind at first, but you'll gladly take it as a form of apology.

He lets out a groan as he fills you, slides into you like you are made for him, slicked walls hugging his cock, clenching around his girth.

He fills you just right, hits spots you have never felt, makes you see stars despite the roof above both of your heads.

Before you can answer in an even brattier tone than before, you feel how he slightly pushes you down, makes you lean further forward until you're forced to hold onto the bar, driven further and further into the wood by his harsh thrusts.

He quickens his pace, makes you whine and moan with the way he fills you, tip kissing your womb, his slight curve brushing your sweet spots just right.

A smirk that is directed at you, resting on you as he observes you, watches you writher and shake beneath his movements. When you catch it from the corner of your eye, it fuels new fire inside of you, and your lips curl sweet and mischievously when you slightly raise your head to respond.

„Maybe you shouldn't provoke my sharp tongue too much then, captain.“

The word does something to him, you can feel it, notice the way he gasps for a second, slows his thrusts for the shortest bit. Then he suddenly slips out of you, both hands grabbing your hips and pulling you up, your back straightening for the shortest second before he turns you around, pulls you in by the waist and leans forward to push his lips against yours, catching you in a heated kiss that steals your breath, makes your knees weak.

You bury your right hand in his blonde hair, hold him close, while your other hand rests on the textile of his shirt, trying to hold onto soft linen while you sigh and feel your legs tremble.

As if he's feeling it, he lightly bends his knees, slides his hands from your hips to the back of your thighs to pick you up, makes you wrap your legs around his waist while your hands cradle his face and you sink further into his kiss, melt against his lips. Okay maybe no one is going to understand what I’m talking about but Taylor Swifts song “thanK you aIMee” is trending on tt and the trend is seriously confusing me

Because I’m a swiftie so i know the meaning of the song (for those who don’t know during the song Taylor is hating on ‘Aimee’ who is obviously Kim K because of the capital letters) so people started making videos with captions similar to thanK you aIMee where they spell out a name of someone who they dislike/want dead/associate with the song.

But then in the comments it’s a whole bunch of ppl looking at “Definitely, thAnKs sO much TAte” and saying “Ako??” when the capitalized letters spell Dakota, or “mOstLy I like VivIAn” and ppl saying “Ola??” when it’s easy to tell its supposed to be Olivia.

Like is that a part of the trend too? Guessing something blatantly wrong? Because maybe one or two ppl have dyslexia or something but the amount of ppl I see “guessing” incorrectly is incredibly high. Do ppl genuinely lack reading comprehension? Basically, just me getting into more detail about Odette's Character, story, and details about her outfits in both versions, and a reminder: her lore isn't complete and she will change

Story:

Version where odette is around during the fourth season

Ogron asked odette for help in finding the last earth fairy

Odette joined the black circle and plays the role of the planner (or just the over all brains)

Odette forms a little connection with Roxy and basically acts as an adult figure to Roxy and is like Roxy's auntie figure in a way

Personality/characteristic:

Odette is a sadistic little shit to those who she personality dislikes or has a vendetta against (hinted at her side rivalry with Gantlos and her thing with bullying and messing with the specialist)

Outside of her sadistic and crazy persona she's very collected and pretty smart and cunning when she needs to be

Odette makes it obvious that she genuinely loves and cares about her brother and is very overprotective of him and his health

Design details:

She actually has hidden pockets in certain parts of her pants

Everything has a function or purpose including the tight straps which are for helping her hook anything in it for whatever purpose

She wears gloves because she handled with certain dangerouse types it materials which if handled incorrectly or in contact with skin can cause damage and Odettes sleeves are rolled up for the similar reasons

She has a held pocuh for storing all of her personal stuff and knicknacs

The cuffs around her wrist are for her control ability when she summons her strings

Her boots aren't heels due to her combat style being meow on the physical combat and she get every physical with her opponents

The cuffs are red-pinkish, her top is similar to Ogorn and the the over Al Silhouette is similar to the other wizards because it shows she is associated with ogron and/or the black circle

False ogron vers: the red witch/witch of deception

Story:

It happens during the event sof the fight season and begins after fourth season

Odette found ogorn, gantlos and anagan in the Omega demension and freed them only to find out that due to the state of the blskc circle ogorn was Comatosed

Odette after being filled in on all the vanets that accured Odette will would proceed to start planning on how to being back ogron fork his comatose and remove the black circle for good without harming her brother and in this plan she proceeds to pretend to be ogron

Personality/characteristics:

She's more cunning, deceitful and merciless

She known as "the night mare of a man's dreams" because of her infamoise history fo tormenting many gorups of people before

She somtimes feel an imposter because she's basically pretending to he her comatosed brother and doesn't feel great about it

Odettes obsession with the passed is worse now because she basically is threatened that her brother who she hadnt contacted in so long is basically could he gone forever if she does nothing about it

Odettes doesn't trust ANYONE like how no one trusts her (especially gantlos)

Odette control abilities are more potant/powerful due to her more violently and aggressiveness in combat

While yes she can come off as a sadistic mad woman who'd be willing to kill jus for fun she genuinely does still have a good heart and genuinely doesn't mind having a little fun in many battles Afton even fighting fair by nholsing back when fighting the winx and specialist

Like in the normal vers Odette is genuinely very considerate and caring to those who she genuinely cares about and mean alot to her

Design details:

Because her combat is mostly magic she wears heels but also for intimidation factor because can ausne that she probably owild stabb a man's skull with her heel if she wanted too

Odettes wears a hat to further show her "witch" title

The cape is for more kysteripuse vibes

The green in the cuffs (her magic) hints her disconnations to her brother because green is a opposite color to red and pinkish

The pouches are the same thing but because or magic is more broader and uses magic for her inventory

Odette wears gloves and covers her fulle arms because of the fact she handles much more dangerous magical materials and she's more experienced with it

The cuffs are to represent how she has more control in her own power and how frequently she is Abel to take full contoel of her victims

Her over all silhouette shows how she is disconnected or not associated with the blskc circle aka making her a over al seperate entity and this does include the color scheme and top

Some funfacts:

Odette knew that if she destorywd the black circle to bring back ogoen he would have lost all of his memories of thevhslck circle and his actions which she gatekept from anagan and gantlos because she didn't trust them and knew gantlos and anagam can double cross her (false ogorn vers)

Odette actually keeps a bunch of hair ties so she can keep her hair up when in battle so she can avoid her hair becoming a weakness in physical combat

Odette actually has a girlfriend named Eveline a dark sirenix fairy (she's a prominent character in the False Ogron version)

Darcy is odettes ex girlfriend

Odette has a rivarly with gantlos mostly because of their mutual dislike towards each other

Odette had always had a tomboyish lady

Odette "flirted" with morgana at one point

Odette has a very large venomous snake she adores very much its name is "Phonmy" and it's kept in a pocket dimension if Odette ever needs to call it over to wherever shes currently in

S1e7 doesn't just foreshadow that Fizarolli & Asmodeus are in love , but the issues/resolution they will have in s2 (Analysis/theory).

1. First, we see an obvious pattern during Moxxie's song. Whenever it pans to Fiz/Ozzie- the word "love" is said. This indicates the 2 are in love .

When the song begins and it first pans to ozzie/fix , the lyric is:

And fiz smiles and turns to look at Ozzie when "our love" is sung. Hinting how Fiz feels about Ozzie. Fiz smiling at Ozzie also fits the lyric "you make me glad". And "our love" implies their love is mutual.

Next...

" I love us just the way we are . WE DON'T HAVE TO PRETEND".

Notice how they frame both pairings in the shot , during said lyric . It's meant to convey how both pairings love each other in the same way (romantically). Aka ozzie/Fizz love eachother like m&m. Meanwhile it also indicates that Ozzie/Fiz are "PRETENDiNG" not to be in love (unlike m&m). BUT , by the end of s2 they will most likely learn they "DON'T have to "PRETEND".

Why do i say that? well the following lyric alludes to it.

"handle the rest because I love you."

Is the closing lyric of the song. The lyric probably will mean since they love eachother they can "handle ' the negativity they'll recieve for their relationship. Once again when the word "love" is sung: Fiz turns and smiles at Ozzie. Similar to what Fiz does in the opening of the song (except at the end Oz smiles back this time and they cuddle cheeks). Showing once again-it's mutual.

Also, (before the song began) how did fizz first introduce Ozzie : "Asmodeus himself... come on give him some love"(makes a heart with his arms)

2. Ozzie and Fiz's s1 song foreshadows their hypocrisy and how it'll backfire on them in s2.

Fiz/Ozzie's (anti love) lyrics come back to bite them metaphorically in the s1 dance number . Foreshadowing how their "hypocrisy" will also cause issues in s2:

" Singing LOVE songs in my lounge?... ditch the LOVEy dovey . "

What's ironic is Fiz and Oz while teasing Moxie. Sing (in the lounge) the lyric "I LOVE you" multiple times ,to one another. And then cuddle cheeks /act "LOVEy dovey" . They play it off as a joke, but they actually do feel that way for eachother . And behave in a way thay contradicts their own lyrics . When they sing "i LOVE you" their "HEARTS" even glow in unison . They pretty much act in the way - they tell Moxie not to .

Fiz said he'd "knock out' Moxie for singing about "love", cause only "b*tches sing with the strings of their heart" .

But what happens after fiz/ Ozzie jokingly sing "I love you" to eachother ? well , Fiz is "knocked out " with a "stringed" ("heart" shaped) instrument" . The lyrics backfire on Fiz ,since he doesn't actually practice what he preaches. And is hypocritical. Plus, it's a hint that fiz loves Ozzie, like Moxie does millie.

3. The lyrics Fiz and Oz sing : allude to why they hide their feelings from the public.

"Singing love songs? ozzie's ain't the place for sentimental sounds. what did you expect from a proprietor like us? We have a saying that's popular in these parts : only little b*tches strum the strings of their heart. You wanna hang around this l*stful town? Ditch the lovey dovey or we'll knock you around."

Not only do people expect Ozzie and Fiz to not have romantic desires -given their stage personas being pro-l*st/ anti love . But, also the the l*st ring appears to look down upon romance. Because they incorrectly assume love and l*st are diametrically opposed to eachother.

4. They mock Moxie's song while performing, but when they aren't performing they secretly enjoy the song. They don't actually dislike the song, they just think it doesn't fit with their brand.

5. We also see that fiz/Ozzie are foils to Blitz/stolas. They show their similarities to make their differences more prominent. Blitz/Fiz are both (ex circus) imps who slept with royalty to elevate their careers .

* BLitz/ Stolas don't talk about romantic feelings. And their dynamic,in the present,is PRIMARILY based on l*st.

* while Fiz/Ozzie are (probably) in love but pretend their relationship is only based on l*st .

6. In the song People teased stolas ,saying: "A demon prince... are you sleeping with an imp? how the mighty do fall". So, how would people feel about royalty not simply sleeping with an imp. But royalty (who says they're anti love) being in love with one? Fiz/ozzie's relationship would always cause backlash (because of the hypocrisy). But perhaps it'll be worse because fiz is an imp . He'd be dating royalty despite being the lowest caste of demon . Plus, fiz may be hiding the fact he's an imp (50/50 on the theory). But if he's hiding his imp status, it would be a huge scandal if revealed . It may be why Blitzo called Fiz a "sell out jester" (cause he's a sell-out for pretending he's not an imp, for success). The background details at ozzie's may hint at that. We even see jester-clowns at Fizz's performance , which could be a hint he's pretending to be one of them. Or at the very least, that he may be mistaken for one . The audience also has only the imp characters dressing like fiz: one wears a fiz mask , one wears a fizz headpiece. And one of the workers at ozzie's is an imp with makeup to resemble fiz's (they actually zoom in /linger on her). Which may be a hint fizz is wearing makeup (could be a scar of his though) to resemble a jester .

The easiest way to tell if a demon is an imp- is their horns. All the imps there, despite their fizz costumes, all display their horns. But fiz hides his (whether for a better clown aesthetic ,to hide he's an imp, or to cover up an old horn injury). It appears Fiz dresses/pretends to be a jester demon (like mammon's species). There is a lot of stigma against imps,so it's hard to believe fiz could become soooo popular (if openly an imp). His image is on cereal boxes,posters + amusement park attractions , and he's comsidered a s*x symbol to the point they have love robots of him - which suspiciously ,none of the robot replicas have his imp tail.

My guess is,in s2, the newspaper article comes out, because fiz/ Ozzie may have been caught saying they "love" eachother (given how the word "love" pans to them often in the s1 song). And the "love-scandal" may cause reporters to look further into fiz's past and discover he's secretly an imp (if he was hiding that fact) .

So! This has been a year of discovering a lot of stuff about myself for sure. I had so much space to try and find myself and who I am, and I just ended up finding a very confusing mess. It's getting easier though. I am learning more and more about myself and I found out I have massive problems with understanding other people and their thoughts, signals and emotions. A lot of things about other people are hugely confusing to me, and I can't help feeling like I interpret so much communication incorrectly. I am terrified to communicate myself, since I know that my meaning is not always clear. Thus the illustration, I was thinking about it the other night, that sometimes I wish i could phase my brain with someone elses, to reach some sort of understanding I am lacking otherwise. I am most likely autistic. After talks with my therapist, we will be looking into it, but I probably wouldn't even be able to get a diagnosis because it would hurt me more in the long run to have anything on paper. Truthfully, all I want is to find ways to help myself be happier and more comfortable. I have been trying to let myself talk and act more in a way that is in line with my instincts and ideals, and I am afraid it might make others dislike me, but I have to try. And honestly, all that I do want to do more, is just be a little weirder, show more emotions. Anyways! I am not sure if any of this makes sense! Thanks!

Weird question, but how do you think Subaru would interact with other socially inept anime characters like Tomoko Kuroki from Watamote or Bocchi from Bocchi the rock?

oh i dont think thats a weird question at all, its a pretty fun one to think about! all of these characters for sure have The Social Anxiety but subaru is actually pretty different from bocchi and tomoko. mostly because, unlike those two, he's actually pretty extroverted. this does not stop his social anxiety though.

for subaru, his issue largely came from the need to perform (and emulate kenichi). he acts as energetic and loud as possible, in an attempt to get people to like him. this backfires though, because instead people just find him obnoxious. but this only makes him double down on the "please look at me, please like me" approach, which only makes people more annoyed with him. until he started having panic attacks about it, and stopped going to school all together. iirc in a qna when tappei was asked why subaru didnt have any friends even though he's so out-going, he replied "would you wanna be friends with someone so loud and obnoxious?"

and thats where i think he would sort of clash with characters like bocchi and tomoko. those two are the more "classic" example of social anxiety- they fear interactions with other people, they panic whenever something pushes the limits of their comfort zones, and they dont know how to deal with people. between tomoko and bocchi, i feel like the big difference is that bocchi is more depressive and tomoko is more cynical- bocchi blames herself, tomoko blames others. the latter is literally in the title.

subaru would probably still keep up his usual demeanor, as hyper as ever. and this would NOT sit well with characters who tend to retreat into their shells, but seeing this would likely make him think he has to double down. bocchi would probably be freaked out by him, she wouldn't know how to handle his energy, but she'd also be too nervous to not go along with whatever he's doing in some way... she would probably want to go back to her mango box though. meanwhile, tomoko would be more likely to outright dislike him, probably incorrectly assume he's actually a cool partybro, and start to silently scorn him for it.

assuming subaru could maybe take a cue and tone it down (not likely but maybe eventually) i can see at bocchi warming up to him. she doesnt have anything actually against extroverts (just look at her and kita!) so if he relaxes they could probably get along. tomoko on the other hand... she is very desperate for friendship but she also has a horrible habit of self-sabotage, so even if they start getting along (maybe talking about anime- unlike with bocchi, tomoko and subaru actually have common interests) she'd probably do something that makes her think she blew it, even if he wouldn't actually care lol

however if they did manage to defy all odds and actually become friends, i do think subaru would bring one incredibly vital aspect to this dysfunctional dynamic.... he'd be the only one able to ask for extra ketchup.

I had a fanfic idea where Sam gets fired from his job for the most stupid and unfair of reasons (not his fault, Morris is just mean), so he and the Farmer (and maybe Shane) team up to ruin the Joja Mart for good (without getting into to too much trouble). Like planting grass inside the store (you can actually do this in the game), rearranging the stock/inventory incorrectly, that sort of thing. Coincidentally, the Community Center gets fixed the very next day…idk if I will write all of this but it’s an idea I have.

I can imagine Morris really unfairly firing Sam because of a merchandise mover who came and brought out new Joja goods, broke something, and put all the blame on Sam. And Morris, not in the best mood that day, fired Sam without understanding the problem. Even Shane couldn't help Sam when he tried to stand up for him. And when the Farmer found out about this, they decided to give Morris a real hell, and the restoration of the Community Center would finish off the greedy manager Joja completely.

And at the same time... It's quite difficult for me to write such a headcanon, because in this case, Morris will not be the main villain, but the victim.

After discovering the Stardew Valley Expanded mod, I now look differently at the characters that in the vanilla version just act like assholes. Because such an act on the part of Sam, Shane and Farmer will create trouble not for Morris, but for cashiers Claire and Martin. And Morris really only wanted the best for Valley, it was just that his image of "the best" was different. His sad face when the people of the Valley boycott Joja on Community Center rebuilding day. Like wow, I usually dislike Morris, but then...

I'm sorry anon that I'm talking about this mod so often, because maybe you don't know about this mod and I'm just here mumbling about it. But it's just that I've always been interested in being a kind of devil's advocate and looking at the characters as misunderstood personalities, and not cartoonish villains. Such emotions, before the discovery of sve mod, Clint evoked in me, when most people in the sdv community called him creep and 'nice guy', but I always thought that he was simply misunderstood. I hope than makes sense (English is so hard, damn).

Does your claim rest upon another claim that is not provable? If yes, then you’ve got a problem.

Does that textual evidence take context and potential counterarguments into account? You have to address this. I don't personally understand why JC's role as an antagonist instills this much rage. Like babe, look underneath the underneath. There's a reason why canon jc is a tag and that's because somehow this dude's main characterization and arc gets the fanon erasure treatment everytime without fail. If you like that, go ahead but let's not act as if fanon JC was how MXTX wrote him nor as if canon JC was written incorrectly.

I'm just baffled at how angry they are over a tag and it not being catered to their preferences, as they had already whined about when it was made. Just block the tag, it's exactly what I do with ships I dislike and if it's not tagged despite the content, I block the user.

Fandom curation for your own sake DOES take some thought on your part as well, it's not my prerogative if how I tag about a fictional guy upsets a stranger. If you don't like how I speak about the blorbo, block, because I'm not changing the way I think of him for the sake of "you discussing him like this hurts my feelings".

I like him as he is as an antagonist, no that doesn't mean I think he's pure evil. But he's not some caricature to use to be disrespectful to the author's intentions for what he is meant to convey, glorifying a rather toxic relationship is something we should have gotten over when it came to Bella and Edward back in 2010. If emotional appeal is all you have, I don't care honestly, because the bias is clearly aimed to your own comfort that can be solved with blocking.

I also thought I'd make a quick post going over my experiences and observations using the beta editor, as someone who put off switching for months and months and has now been using it for about a week. If you're putting off making the switch because you're not sure what it will be like, and are worried about committing to a broken editor, this post is for you.

General Observations

Overall, the editor itself really isn't that much different. A few things are in different places, such as blockquotes being under the dropdown and being called indented now, but it's not the buggy, broken mess that I half-expected it to be. A lot of the bugs that various people have reported on have already been fixed by staff. (And you can report bugs or just general complaints to staff! There's a feedback section of their form and they are actively taking user suggestions into account. Just remember to be nice about it.)

Sometimes bold, italics, and small text will act up and not apply correctly. But frankly, those would act up on the legacy editor, too. And if things are being weird, it's fairly easy to select the offending text and just fix it.

Things I Like

By far my favorite feature of the beta editor is the ability to disable reblogs on a post. As someone who runs a roleplay blog for a pretty popular canon character, I've gotten used to typing all of the names L.ike Th/is in order to prevent my posts from showing up in search, and slapping a huge "do not reblog" disclaimer onto everything -- only to have some personal who apparently can't read reblog it anyway. But now I can simply take my OOC posts, headcanons, metas, whatever, and set it so that no one can reblog them.

I love the ability to edit tags without having to completely delete and rewrite them. I've gotten so used to having to redo tags over a single typo that the realization of this the other day left me in shock. You can just click inside the tag and change any of the text that you want.

The new content label system is pretty good. You can clearly designate a post as having mature content, and your followers can choose in settings whether they want to have those flagged posts viewable or not. It's another feature I'd love to see Tumblr expand on, and add some more options to flag a post as, it's a really good start.

The post scheduling system is much more clear than before. You can actually schedule a post and feel confident in the exact date and time that it will go up, unlike the previous system that felt like a wild shot in the dark.

You can add colored text to posts pretty easily. There are a bunch of preset colors, and while I haven't played around with it much, I understand that adding custom colors via HTML is pretty straightforward. It's not a feature I personally use much, but it's neat.

There are also additional font and styling options, like Lucille, Chat, and Quote. Again, not things I use very often, but cool features to have.

Things I Dislike

Tumblr will remember your old tags, but without any capitalization. If your frequently used tags have capitalization and you want them to be consistent, you'll have to retype or paste them in every time.

When you paste an image URL into a post, it will insert the image as before, but include that link below it, with no way to easily remove it. This is an issue for those using gifs or icons with transparency, and simply pasting the image in directly will cause it to display incorrectly. As someone who uses a webpage of my icons when working on threads, I now have to download the icon I want to use and upload it, which is a minor annoyance compared to simply copying the image link and pasting it in.
