We see several times throughout the show that Omega is preventing the Batch from the lives they would be leading if she wasn't with them, and even when her brothers reasure her that it doesn't matter we see this burden weigh on Omega. Especially in Season one we see that Omegas being hunted by the Kaminoans, and now in Season 3 the Empire will be hunting down Omega, ensuring that as long as Omega's with them, the Bad Batch will always be hiding to keep her safe.

Omega is the heart of the group most of the time. She brings everyone on the squad joy, and it's evident that they're happier with her than they would be without her. When hard times come, she'll comfort them, such as putting her hand on Wrecker's face and offering him Mantell Mix when he apologized for what happened when his chip activated. And yet, no matter how much she loves and cares for them, they will never know peace so long as she's with them, as she will always be hunted.

Omega struggles with the knowledge that she's a burden on her brothers. We see how desperate she is to ensure her brothers have a "normal" life. She sees that Echo wants to go and fight for other clones, and she knows that Hunter would at least consider joining Echo, if it weren't for her. She feels like she weighs the whole squad down, stopping them from attaining the lives they could have had.

And you know that I'd swing with you for the fences Sit with you in the trenches Give you my wild, give you a child Give you the silence that only comes when two people understand each other Family that I chose, now that I see your brother as my brother Is it enough?

Omega does everything she can to be a good sister, although it comes naturally to her, she's not always trying to prove herself. She's barely interacted with them when she starts a fight in the cafeteria for them, and she's open and understanding, and she truly loves them with all she is. Their her brothers, and she so clearly loves them so much. But is her love and care enough to make up for everything her brothers, who are techically younger than her, will have to go through for her?

In season 3 I think we can expect to see the fear of being a burden continue to weigh on Omega. Hunter and Wrecker have been so desperate to find her, but Omega might think it's best for her to leave them. No matter how much joy Omega brings into their lives, the joy will always come with the pain and fear of being hunted.

And I think this will be the final part, at least for a while. I might come back and add more eventually. I might make a post that's a playlist for each character without actually analyzing the songs, but perhaps use it as a masterlist with links for the songs I did analyze. That'll probably come sometime soon.

An excuse to geek out about my characters and music. Gonna throw down some songs/artists I think my characters sound like some is purely vibes. And toss down some explanation. Saz: Got that swoon worthy kinda voice swoon worthy as in she can really make you feel it when she speaks. Cracks pretty often, especially when she's got strong feelings about what she's saying. Half morphed voice gives a more ragged feel, cracks less but it's more intense. Still haven't figured out if any of the morphers can talk with words when fully morphed.

Her voice normal: Tracy Chapman (specifically her self titled album)

Half morphed form: Eat You Alive by Limp Bizkit and Hollywood Baby by 100gecs

Ian: Not to say it's whiny but it kinda is. It's voice has got the bass (think that's the word) and a sort of down low feel but it's got like that whiny edge that follows some of the shit he says. Stresses sounds on certain words that don't really need it. Kinda feels like he's being condescending at all times if you don't know him well. His half morphed form's voice still has that waving pitch stressed sounds thing going but arguably less intense. Personally I'd say his voice remains about the same octave maybe a tad bit higher.

Half morphed form: Friend of a Friend by Weezer and Teenage Dirtbag by Wheatus

Elliot: His voice isn't very deep and I definitely wouldn't call him soft spoken either. His voice is typically full of energy. His joy is typically contagious when not annoying. Of course his voice does fluctuate depending on the situation. Shock will either make it shoot up super high or drop really low. I think his half morphed voice is more noteable. Has more of a presence, maybe struggles to speak during his halfway form though.

Julie: Pretty normal in range and melodic. Her voice definitely has range though. Probably the kind of person who's voice gets higher when they're irked or attention gets put on them unexpectedly. But her voice can also drop a few octaves easily. Her half morphed form voice is still pretty melodic but the words are slower. A breath away from being off with the cadence.

Peace: On the deeper end but not super deep. I don't think the octave in her voice fluctuates much. It doesn't really go lower and she can't really make it higher without her voice cracking or it just becoming silence. A bit of a slower speaker. She'll leave you hanging on her words sometimes but not painfully so. When she's angry her speech is usually faster and more aggressive.

The angrier version's get more bite it's deeper. The sound of her words clash together so it's almost like she's just growling at you the whole time.

An amalgamation of things who knows. Peace actually finds Digit's funny because of this.

Donnie: Sir is mute so their's is gonna be about their tone and the vibes they give off. He gives the vibes to me of a comforting kind of tone that can flip really quick. It's on the edge at all times. Except for when he's joking most likely. Though I find his annoyance a bit funny cause they can be a little snippy a bit of an asshole real quick.

Normal tone: Piss It All Away by Puddle of Mudd and Candy Rain by Soul Rebel

Sarcasm vibe/voice: Don't Kill Yourself, You're Too Sexy by salior mel

Annoyed tone: Suffocate by Cold and Heavy by Theory of a Deadman

Hollis: On the higher side but it's got a sway/waver to it. I'd argue it can be very melodic. It has some range to it but usually just higher not necessarily deeper. When she's more serious it will mellow out and her speed will usually slow down. You can definitely hear the hurt in her voice because the pitch usually remains in the same range so sudden changes (dips or highs) is usually pretty indicative of how she's feeling.

Was recently reminded of a fatuichi wip I had from may that's like underground crime syndicate fatui modern au or something and childe is a dancer.

The tsaritsa owns a club where they launder shit and the fatui can hang, maybe the dancers there are under her protection. Childe was taken in as an agent and moved up the ranks, but before he became a harbinger he saw the good money the dancers were making and wanted to take a shot at it, since he got into the criminal scene to get money for his family anyways. Then it turns out to be kind of fun and the fatui are always respectful bc the tsaritsa has them on a short leash and disrespect isn't tolerated. He enjoys the feeling, a different thrill from battle, but similar.

The man of the night is a gunner I named dalimil. It is his birthday! And he is at the club with his homies. He thinks they're just drinking and chillin, as most fatui in the club do tbh, but his friends (a vanguard and some sort of smalll skirmisher) get him a lap dance and it is with... childe!! WHO MAYBE IS ALSO THEIR BOSS? I haven't decided.

Now Dalimil is a fat guy. He's a gunner. And he's p chill but we all have insecurities ykno. So he's not super confident. Hes kind of body shy. But childe is like very comfortable in his body (it's a weapon, a tool that he has trained hard to be at its best so ofc he is proud. It's not even a like "I'm so attractive" it's literally just from how useful he's made himself) and he's not perfect either, like yes every playable character in genshin is pretty but flaws are fun so idk attach whatever flaws u want to childe. I like to give him discolored teeth and maybe they're crooked, has a gap. Basically I give him my teeth LOL. Some other stuff. Scars, etc.

So anyways they're in their private room and childe starts dancing for him, climbs onto his lap and he really has to like CLIMB bc this man is tall and one of his thighs is like the width of childe (pretending that the big skirmisher builds are not augmented and they're just actually that big. Some eremite enemies are v big and they don't have any visual hints of being augmented so let's say the body variety in teyvat just has an insane range LOL). Dalimil is very flustered by how small he makes the harbinger look on his leg man's is discovering his size kink. Even sitting on him childe still has to look up. And childe is tall! He's not tiny. But dalimil is also very conscious of his stomach touching the harbinger bc it comes out pretty far and he's like ahh man ykno like my friends put me up to this, does childe even like this, he's probably just acting, etc.

Childe plays eith the buttons of his top and sees dalimil kind of clamming up so he's like "wanna get comfortable and lose some layers?" And dalimil is like ahh hmm noo it's okay... and childe is like catching on now so he's like "you don't have to hide from me. I want to see. I'm here to make you feel good." But he doesn't like pressure him ykno if dalimil said no he'd be like sure its fine, but if he's open to talking about it then maybe they can work something out.

So maybe childe just opens his shirt slowly. Dancing and stuff while he does it, rubbing his hands over dalimils chest and through his hair. And honestly?? Now dalimil is getting worked up feeling childes body rub over his stomach sometimes while he dances like fucckkkk, the skinnier guys don't get that privilege you know? Ethically bypassing no touching rule. LOL. Anyways they both end up super into it and dalimil comes out of that room more assured that he is desirable now that he's gotten some proof :3.

Ofc u don't need proof to feel desirable but if you're insecure about it it is definitely helpful when it feels positive for you. Also yes, not every fat person is insecure, and not every fat character has to be written that way, but it's what I want for my fic as a fat person myself.

I'm probably not the best person to give advice because I don't really know what's going on with my writing… It's a godawful mess. But I'll try!

So, writing tips under the cut ->

1. This might be boring and said a 100 times before, but... Show, don't tell! Obviously, I break this rule all the time when I go inside my character's head and explain how they feel and not just what they see, smell, hear, and touch. But if you're writing angst or fluff like I am, I'd say you must go inside the skin to dig into the character. (Also, f* the rules 😇)

2. If you don't know where to start, start with the dialogue. Even if it's just 4-10 sentences per scene. Then you can fill the gaps with some action, emotion/sensation and worldbuilding. But dialogue is actually the heart of your story and it creates some of the best tension; treat it with respect! Also: less is more with dialogue. Not always... but usually is.

3. Write from your own experience. We all have something to draw from, even if it's something as simple as how it feels to skinny dip in a cold lake. Or a hot bathtub. How does it feel to wake up from a nightmare or kiss someone you love? Like, truly feel? Don't tone it down!

4. If you want to sound more poetic, use metaphors and symbols and mythology. If you want to sound original, use history and culture and simply anything you have up your sleeve. All the "useless" knowledge: bring it on baby! When used sparingly, these can add to the depth of your storytelling.

5. Sculpt the paragraphs, then focus on the sentences, then hone single words. Whip out a goddamn dictionary. Search synonyms online (Thesaurus etc). Work with the words until they sound right for the story you wish to tell. Choose words that are most "alive" in your story's context, words that inspire feeling and stir emotion.

6. Read your story out loud or at least inside your head. That way you'll notice the errors and can fix the flow and rhythm of the story. Everyone loves a well-paced story! Sometimes just moving a sentence to a different paragraph or deleting it entirely can resolve an issue.

7. If you write a long fic, establish a core problem in the first chapter and remember to solve it before the story ends. For example in Man-sized, I presented an issue of trust. It was heavily inspired by my own lack of trust in men and the fear of getting played. Again, don't be afraid to draw from your own experience!

8. Music can help set the mood and bring out your creative flow. I have numerous playlists for writing or create a new one for the particular story in mind. If I want to write some heavyweight yearning, I'll blast some heavyweight yearning songs while I write. I don't know if this works for everybody; some people might need silence and space for creating.

9. The most important tip: WRITE FOR YOURSELF. Write the difficult, the overwhelming, the taboo. Write the most self-indulgent, shmexy scene ever! Or the fluffiest meet-cute that puts a smile on your face.

And if you're one of those writers who are not happy with their writing... write some more. Play with it, just don't give a shit. Let the inner demons give you courage and inspiration. Write about how shitty it feels to feel inadequate. You might find you just wrote some good poetry on suffering.

It's always better to write from love and joy instead of fear and shame – besides, life is too damn short to feel ashamed! Live a little and enjoy what you do, let writing be your escape. It's supposed to be a shelter where you can flee to when life is dull and hard and unfair. If other people's writing inspires you to write, then read. If other people's writing puts you down, save yourself some heartache and don't engage: just mind your own business and do your own thing.

Songs for Hazbin Hotel Characters (Playlists Series) PART 5

What to do when you have mixed feelings about everything? You play your playlist which has way too many songs and you hope that the shuffle will pick one specific song of which you haven’t even thought about. Today we are discussing the beloved sarcastic, funny and sometimes questionable world of Bo Burnham songs!

Love these songs! They had been in my headspace since the album came out in 2021 (older ones as well) and I couldn’t be happier. Relatable to the core, making me question my existence. Isn’t that worthwhile?

As for today, I shall be sharing 1 positive, 1 intermediate and 1 negative occasion when Hazbin characters relate to their song’s lyrics and give them one song to add in their own playlists, of course.

Positive: “I'm finished playing, and I'm staying inside”.

A phrase said after a few hours of outdoor activities with the most energetic Hell’s royal in existence. Vaggie loves Charlie to death, but sometimes she can’t keep up with her changing what they’re doing every half an hour or so.

Intermediate: “I wanna hear you tell a joke when no one's laughing in the background”.

Vaggie not necessarily loved but could not deny in taking some fun while highlighting Alastor’s outdated joke material. She even had challenged him to not play a recorded audience laughter for a whole day. Just to see if he’ll manage to get by without it. He did but with some difficulty along the way.

Negative: “You can pick the street. I'll meet you on the other side”.

Niffty has said this while comforting not so composed Angel. If his tears became a little happier, well that’s only for him to know.

Intermediate: “We all deserve love, it's the very best part of being alive”.

While talking with the others about the times when they had lived in the human world, minus Charlie, who had great Hell stories to share, Niffty revealed that she was lusting and looking for love for as long as she can remember. Though she had never felt a true fairytale type of love, Niffty is still thankful for her life’s adventures, even if they are bittersweet.

Negative: “If you want love, lower your expectations a few; Because Prince Charming would never settle for you”.

That sounds like other thoughts that haunt Niffty’s brain. She has her feeling down moments and similar ideas are not far from her during those times. Maybe it was her fault all along for not finding the man of her dreams?

CHARLIE

THAT FUNNY FEELING

Positive: “The whole world at your fingertips, the ocean at your door”.

Charlie heard similar words of encouragement from her parents daily during her younger years. She wasn’t sure how the ring of Envy was connected to it, but she still felt joy and love to her family.

Intermediate: “There it is again, that funny feeling; That funny feeling”.

Charlie’s inner thoughts when something unexpected happens. No matter, happy or not, she goes to the extreme with it, letting it consume her whole. It takes for a few seconds to calm down, but she is sure that it shall visit her again.  

Negative: “Hey, what can you say? We were overdue; But it'll be over soon, you wait”.

Termination day, Charlie’s most hated day of the year. The first time it happened when the hotel has opened and Charlie could not save a sinner’s soul fast enough. She said the phrase to Vaggie, wanting to believe that maybe something said out loud is more likely to happen.

HUSK

SHIT

Positive: “Go to pour my coffee, and I miss my cup; OMG, that is just my luck”.

Just a typical morning for Husk. Maybe being a black cat brought this misfortune? No, it probably was his inner clumsiness coming out.

Intermediate: “Look in the mirror say, "What's up you useless fuck?”.

Husk isn’t particularly a fan of mirrors. What’s there to see that he hadn’t seen before? Plus, he still does not feel the appeal of fate’s choosing of his animal sinner form. There are so many cool animals to pick and he got a fucking cat, just his luck.

Negative: “Staring at the ceiling and waiting for this feeling go away; But it won't go away”.

Husk isn’t a stranger to more negative emotions, they do consume him sometimes. His way of dealing with them is to occupy his mind with anything else, like counting squares on the ceiling. Most of the time he loses the battle, but Husk still lingers on the small chance of success.

ANGEL

ART IS DEAD

Positive: “I am an artist, you're free to correct me”.

Most people don’t know this, but Angel really loves acting, the true acting. From time to time, he’ll get a small script from a play or a movie and act out some lines for fun. One time Niffty had stumbled upon him and it turned out that she had a liking to acting as well. From then on, she sometimes watched him and offered advice on what to do or say to make it look more lifelike.

Intermediate: “My drug's attention, I am an addict; But I get paid to indulge in my habit”.

Angel hates the part of himself that is content with the life he had and still has within Valentino’s reach. Getting paid for it does not help his actions, but it gets him the materials to forget about it for some time.

Negative: “I must be psychotic; I must be demented; To think that I'm worthy; Of all this attention”.

Angel feels and thinks that he is not worthy of any kind of love. He jokes around when talking about it, but deep inside he resents himself. He has made too many stupid decisions to deserve any kind of sincere attention and Angel does not expect to ever get it.

ALASTOR

DON’T WANT TO KNOW

Positive: “I'd ask you what you're watching but I don't wanna know”.

Alastor never accepted the fact that television and internet pushed radio out for being the source of fun and information. He consistently ignores both of them, not paying attention to anything but radio broadcasts. If he ever walks upon others watching something, he’ll leave just as soon as he entered. Maybe he just needs to find something of enough interest?

Intermediate: “Do I have your attention? Yes or no?”.

Alastor from time to time is not capable of keeping others’ attention on himself. Sometimes the reason is a laugh pit, sometimes it’s an unwanted interruption, other times others ignore him just for the sake of teasing. It’s that type of situation that really gets on Alastor’s nerves.

Negative: “I'd give away the ending but you don't wanna know”.

Let’s not forget the fact that Alastor is a notorious serial killer. He plays with his victim’s minds and sanity before doing the actual killing. Like in the living world, like in Hell. What can he say, Alastor is a man of habits.

preston: meant to be yours from heathers the musical. he appreciates everywhere at the end of time, too though, and the symbolism behind it. he's a big "what's the hidden meaning of this song" kinda guy. he definitely is the type for horribly romantic songs, i hear a symphony by cody fry and dramatic songs like that, and every single song from every single musical he's ever seen.

harrison: viva la vida by coldplay is his favorite song. it's probably his ringtone too. he likely listens to it on loop while doing homework. i like to think he likes the good part, 100 bad days, karma, and bud like you by ajr as well as high hopes by panic! at the disco, though. he probably really likes those songs but is the type to look into what other songs his favorite artists have made, so hes stuck listening to only those songs from ajr/panic! at the disco/coldplay.

nerris: tavern background audio music from youtube. you would think she was joking but she listens to it in their free time. just sitting there listening to wordless medevil tavern/festival music. they probably like critical hit by ghost mice too.

max: loved by fein. it's edgy but he'd blast it. he probably liked mccafferty before mccafferty turned out to be a shit human being. he likes the front bottoms and set it off too, but loved by fein takes the cake. he probably celebrated when mcr got back together, too.

nikki: doesn't often listen to music with words- it distracts her easily and she doesn't focus well with lyrics. so she usually listens to karaoke versions of songs.

space kid: he likes whatever songs his mom likes. plain white ts, taylor swift, all of it. he hasn't branched out to many types of music other than what he's heard his whole childhood.

please <3 thank you! it's been a long time coming for real, the eras tour was my first tswift tour cause it's the first time she came to brazil rip. but honestly.. i've been wanting to rewatch tbosas ever since i saw it for the first time and the songs from that movie are living in my mind RENT FREE. i can not forget rachel belting can't take my charm out of nowhere... insane. i'm gonna be real with you and say my playlists almost always include taylor swift songs only cause... that's mostly what i listen and draw inspiration from. however.. around the time i made patrick there was one song i always used for edits and that was skyfall by adele. specifically the lines you may have my number, you can take my name but you'll never have my heart as well as the bridge cause it truly represented his feelings towards his twin sister and everything they've faced together to me. other songs i can name are kiss with a fist by florence and the machine, whatever it takes by imagine dragons and if you could see me now by the script. those are probably old as fuck but they're the ones i can remember the most. as for faceclaims i wish had more resources... honestly that's so hard cause i usually jump in to make resources of people i wanna use when they have absolutely none LKADJASKL but recently i became obsessed with adim farah, a turkish show and derya pinar ak who's an absolute beauty but has too little resources. matthew noszka, who's one of my favorite white boys of the month and michael yerger who's also a white boy i love and been wanting to use because i became obsessed with cowboy books. alfie enoch, he's in so many things and the lack of resources that isn't from how to get away with murder is insane.. kazuha from le sserafim, minnie from gidle and god, huh yunjin with her new ginger hair cause they're favorites of mine right now. my favourite thing about writing on tumblr/roleplaying has always been the collaborative aspect of it cause i work constantly with screen writing and while it's amazing to use my creativity i feel that roleplaying truly gives me an opportunity to develop ideas and characters more thoroughly whether it's through plotting or just writing with others. i always feel like my most developed muses are the ones that i created and used through group verses / group rps cause the “forced” interactions with other characters always helps me get to know them more and think about different paths of thoughts and quirks they could have as well as add more to their backstory so it’s always the most fun. i'm always a big big big sucker for group verses settings because of this. i'm almost done.. i promise, i'm rambling too much in these and i promise i'll try to stop KSAJDL but as for movies, i'm very much a horror girlie. my all time favorite (and comfort movie tbh) is scream. but some of my other favorites are the shining (1980) and psycho (1960). i've always been obsessed with the horror genre, mostly cause my cousins would make me watch horror movies when we were younger and spent every summer break together.. chucky is one of my favorite movie characters of all times, i just love him and the movies are some of my favorites as well. i'm a stephen king girlie through and through, even if the most recent it movies aren't the best thing ever i still love the characters so much.. and honestly one of my favorite films ever made is stand by me (1986), i literally cry every single time i watch it cause the whole friendship / growing up and growing apart situation is so beautifully done. the i never had friends like i did when i was 12 quote truly is my roman empire i think about it twice a day.

re:the job, yeap, ive been working since february bc i needed a break from uni and this way i justified it to myself and actually work has been so good for me for real, ive met a bunch of people that have become close friends, work has allowed me so much rest compared to mfucking architecture, it's also allowing me to pay for a psychologist which is great and yeah, overall a positive experience, the only problem is that now i dont wanna quit working but i know that i cant both work and continue with architecture, and it is making me question how much of my life i am willing to give to this career, bc i feel so much better now mentally, even my friends have told me how different i seem and how much better i seem to be doing right now that im not at uni and just *slowly slips down from the chair into the floor dramatically*

and you're right in both accounts lmao, it's hot as hell outside, especially since i just went home for the weekend and jesus christ the heat and humidity there are no fucking joke i tell you, on the plus side i came back by plane and that was so nice, right before take off i was SO nervous but after we did i really enjoyed it, it helps that it turned 8 hours in a cramped seat into half an hour in a slightly less cramped seat lol, some of the pics i took bc i couldnt help myself will follow this paragraph that just ran away from me literally but anyways, it's horribly hot outside but at work they always have the bloody aircon either too high or too low, no in between with those people
