I gotta start leaning into the fact that Ulysses is (probably) very unhinged as it could make for a really interesting (and by interesting I mean hilarious) dynamic with Courier Six.

In my Headcanons, when paired together Ulysses is CLEARLY the straight man. He's highly intelligent and subdued and Six is the exact opposite. Barring the occasional obsessive tendencies, it's agreed that of the Lucky 38 denizens, Ulysses is one of the more normal ones. At the absolute least, that's the impression he gives off.

But what has me giggling to myself is imagining Six and Ulysses interacting with someone who ISN'T used to living with both of them. That someone might automatically assume Ulysses is completely normal compared to Six, only for him to do or say something that makes them mentally go "Holy shit both of these guys are fucking nuts."

Maybe it's just because I love the little glimpses we get of the more casual side of Ulysses (him laughing at the dick joke, the dialogue notes where he smiles, "Tired of history's lessons anyways.") and would love to see more of that depicted. Wish he could have been a base game companion so we can see him go from this mysterious figure that's been hyped up for the entire game to your weird friend who everyone assumes is normal only to realize "oh they're BOTH fucked up." He'd occasionally entertain Six's stupid ideas and do/say something really odd from time to time because the intrusive thoughts won and Six is starting to rub off on him. Ulysses is the friend who would make sure you don't hurt yourself while you're blackout drunk but would also be recording the entire time because it's hilarious. I NEED to know his sense of humor and see more concepts exploring what Ulysses would consider fun and a good time post LR.

do not get me STARTED on the scapegoat symbolism around kokichi, from the sheep halloween costume, to how he constantly takes on the ire of others even for the actions of others, and how his sacrifices mirrors how in scapegoat rituals in which one was killed as a sacrifice, and the other was driven into the woods to carry away the sins with it which also then ties into how he does both throughout the entire game which in itself ties itself to Christianity and how jesus' thing was he did both and its WILD someone get this boy a crown of thorns

No please do, chief- I need this stuff to live and every day it's harder and harder to avoid sidestepping into a trench of broader themes involving Ouma and scapegoats especially involving Christianity-

(considering the whole academy thing has Christianity all over it, right down to the courtroom being a 'shrine of judgement' and the stained glass windows also being a theme in the meta, those statues up in the fourth floor, the sins scrawled around, and Ouma being set up in the narrative like this especially in an End of Days plot is just. Hello??? Is anyone else seeing this shit??)

I have some thought about the concept of sin and how what is 'told' (the deadly sins in Christianity are like. just, written in places) and what is 'shown' (the sin of 'going astray' attributed in narrative to Shuichi, by him being observed and by him himself, is uh. not part of Christianity's 'original sin') may also play into this theme, like we can't always trust what we're 'told' to give us the whole picture especially where it comes to Ouma's own supposed sin

the most fun thing about being under the trans umbrella is the name changes . whenever i make posts about me i would use "stories with asher" but now my names emmett . its actually so much fun bc i can see how long ive been on here . i dont remember the last time ive used the name asher but i still kept using it as my tag . no clue why but i kept it there . my first name was eren, then it was 2020 and i went down the noun for name rabbithole and it was fern, then i went to asher, then i started going by em in school (closest to b.n.) now im emmett because my friend grace started calling me emmett for fun and it sticked ! sometimes ill see friends who havent seen me in years and they'll call me asher and its HILARIOUS because its like a war flashback. i was crazy emo when i went by asher and now im fun and colorfull and silly and a major nerd! also i was obsessed with the lego movie as a kid and LOVED Emmet (first fixation) so . basically my life has made a full circle ! yay

I still think the most devastating enshittification I've ever seen has been picrew. One of the few dress-up game websites left that's not flash-based and it's become DRENCHED in ads. You can't open the home screen without being blasted by at least three or four ads. You can't open two picrews in a row without watching a video ad first. When you have a picrew open the ads cover up the different options and sometimes even stack on each other so you have to hit like 2 or 3 different x buttons to get it to go away, only for more to appear seconds later. And now for something completely different.

This is the ADHD Teapot. I made it in a ceramics class a few years ago. I use it to explain executive dysfunction to people who haven’t come across the term before (and those who think of ADHD mostly as Hyperactive Eight Year Old Boy Syndrome).

So, most people’s brains are like a regular shaped teapot with a single spout. Let’s say that your time, energy, focus etc is the liquid you have in the teapot. Your executive function is the spout, that directs the tea into the specific cup you want to fill-aka the task that you’re meant to be doing. Spills happen occasionally, but generally most of the tea goes in the right cup.

If you have executive dysfunction, (a symptom of ADHD, trauma, autism, schizophrenia etc.) you have multiple spouts going in different directions. You can try pointing one of them at your chosen cup and you will probably get some liquid in there, perhaps you will even fill it right up (finish the task). But meanwhile, tea is also pouring out of several other places and not going where you want it. If you have another container nearby, perhaps some of it will end up in there. But quite a lot of it is going to end up on the floor and accomplish nothing.

And at the end of the day you’ll have filled one or two cups ( or sometimes not even one) compared to the five or six that somebody with the same sized teapot (but only one spout) has filled, and everyone wonders why you’re so bad at getting tea poured, and why you make such a mess in the process.

One day I’d like to spend more time learning pottery and create a really technically good fucked up little adhd teapot. But that’s a long way off since i currently live in the outback and the nearest pottery workshop is some 400km away. But I figure that for now, it might be a useful or interesting metaphor to somebody even in its rough draft form.

This post is the cup I filled instead of cleaning my house btw.

Disability is not a punishment, but I think the world would be genuinely improved if every person involved in writing or regulating ingredient labels was mysteriously inflicted with at least one food allergy falling under each of the following categories: "natural flavors," "modified food starch," "artificial flavors," "spices," and "color." as a former escape room host i highly recommend doing an escape room as a first date. its a great way to learn how ppl react under pressure and how well they collaborate with you right off the bat. also more than once ive seen people enter an escape room as a couple and exit broken up LOL its a fantastic litmus test
