the death and resurrection of jonathan price
john price x female, wife!reader
angst with an eventual happy ending
word count: 2,504
cw: violence. language.
chapter 7
songs: trigger - mississippi twilight, burn it down - nickelback, far from home (the raven) - sam tinnesz
it’d be another long day for tf141. they were exhausted when they returned to the team room.
price had still been working them to the bone in an effort to avoid spending too much time alone in his own head.
when they returned, soap dropped his stuff down onto one of the tables, and went downstairs to open up the cages so each man could lock up his gear.
ghost had stepped out to deal with flack from on high. something about the teams needing to be more clear in their communication.
evidently, the brass wanted the teams to start filling out an action plan on the daily: where they were going to go after checking out weapons, when they expected to return… bullshit admin stuff.
the exact kind of gov.uk nonsense that simon never would’ve handled before, but that he had been fielding for the last three years in their captain’s absence.
gaz leaned down and loosened his boots in an attempt to relieve the pressure from his aching feet. from deep inside his range bag, his cellphone began to ring.
he pulled it from the duffle, but stopped himself before answering it. he threw a glance at price, who was watching him, now.
historically, he wouldn’t have thought twice about taking a personal call, knowing that price trusted his discretion, but with the way things had been going lately, kyle wasn’t sure how he would react.
price looked at soap, who had emerged from downstairs, shoving the lockup keys into his pocket, then back to gaz.
“go home,” he told them. “you’re dismissed.”
gaz took the cue and answered his phone, which was on its third ring. “hello?”
“kyle,” your voice came in quiet and strained. “i need help.”
his eyes widened as he called your name. “hey, woah, what’s going on?”
“i was at a bar,” you started. a sob threatened to come out, but you quickly bit it back. “these guys, they followed me. i’m alone. kyle, i don’t know what to do.”
price and soap had their eyes locked onto gaz. they couldn’t understand what you were saying, but they could clearly hear your panicked tone from the other end of the line.
in a second, price was across the room, snatching the phone from gaz’s hand.
he pressed it to his ear. “where are you?”
“john?” his blood chilled at the sheer anxiety in your voice. you sounded terrified.
“where are you, love?” he repeated, a little softer, but still firm.
after a beat of silence, you rattled off the street name.
“what direction are you moving?”
“south,” you told him. “i’m coming up to an intersection.” after another moment, you told him the name of the street that crossed with the one you were on. “i’m too far from home, john, i don’t—”
“keep headin’ south,” he told you as he moved for the door. “don’t go home.” he didn’t want these assholes knowing where you lived, in case they decided to come back and pay you a visit. not that he had any plans to let them continue breathing. “i’m on my way.”
you’d been trying to keep yourself from panicking, but you were drunk, alone, and afraid.
“i’m on my way,” john said.
that was enough for you to let out a small sob, clutching your phone tightly to your ear. “fuck, i’m scared, john.” you could hear a rustling sound and a car door slam. “are you there?”
“i’m here, sweetheart.” you heard an engine turn over. “you have your piece?”
“no,” you whimpered, tears blurring your vision. you glanced behind you and saw your pursuers were still there. luckily for you, they didn’t seem to be in a hurry, as they nonchalantly trailed behind you, still talking and laughing casually.
you heard john curse on the other end of the line.
“that’s alright,” he said, quickly, “i’m not far. keep your head on a swivel and stay in the well lit areas.”
“i’m trying,” you whispered. “stay on the phone with me. please, john, don’t hang up.”
“i won’t,” he assured you quickly. “i’m coming, love, hang on.”
the minutes passed like hours, every laugh and taunt from your pursuers making your heart jump. you prayed he wasn’t very far…
you heard him before you saw him. the loud roar of an engine and the screeching sound of tires taking a sharp turn echoed loudly in the otherwise quiet night.
a bright light caught your attention. you turned around to see headlights coming down the street.
your pursuers noticed them too, as they spun around hearing the commotion headed their way.
john’s old, black suv sped towards them. just when you thought he was going to run them over, he swerved around the two men, putting the car between you and your would-be attackers.
he came to a screeching halt and leapt out of the car with the engine still running.
he didn’t so much as glance in your direction, but instead, began approaching cal and his buddy.
“you get off on terrorizing women, eh?”
the two assholes, initially startled by the commotion of john’s chaotic arrival, seemed to recover when he emerged from the vehicle alone.
cal chuckled, when it became apparent that he was gearing up for a fight. “listen, man, it’s two on one. you sure you wanna take those odds?”
you couldn’t make out john’s face past the glare of the headlights, but you heard his booming laughter ring out. “how about you get a few more guys and we’ll call it an even fight, then?”
your blood chilled at just how absolutely delighted he sounded, as if he’d been itching for a fight.
for a second, it looked as though cal’s companion was losing his nerve. he murmured something to cal who snapped back, “don’t be a bitch, pete. we can take him.”
the two men hesitated, taken aback by the positively manic look on john’s face, but then cal’s buddy, pete, stepped forward, throwing a well-aimed punch.
john caught his fist with a practiced ease, using the assailant’s momentum to drive his own balled fist into his stomach.
as pete doubled over, john wrapped his arm around the man’s neck, holding his head in place, grabbing the back of his shirt with his other hand.
with his buddy flailing in john’s grip, cal felt confident enough to take a swing at his head.
john planted his feet, leaned in, and took the punch straight to the face, yanking pete along with him. with a grunt and a bloody nose, he swung his captive towards his friend, sending the two crashing together, and down onto the ground.
they stood up, both of them cursing, their intoxicated egos clearly bruised. pete glanced at his friend, trying to gauge just how determined he was to keep going. cal said something you couldn’t make out and gave him a shove forward.
pete stepped up, preparing to take a swing, but john moved faster, punching him in the temple and sending him into a stumbling daze.
cal squared up, still undeterred. john threw a swing at him, which cal had backed up to dodge, when he hit the curb, and fell back onto the sidewalk.
john wasted no time. he stepped up and kicked him repeatedly in the stomach.
“piece.”
“of.”
“shit.”
he emphasized each word with another ruthless blow.
you watched, horrified and frozen to the spot.
pete, who was clutching the side of his head, was finally putting together that they were outclassed. he turned with a stagger, and began to run up the street.
the fear that kept you frozen to the spot, distracted you enough that hadn’t even seen the dark colored wrangler until it hit the man as he tried to escape.
your hand flew to your mouth. you watched in shock as pete was tossed onto the ground like a rag doll.
evidently, the car wasn’t going too fast, because after a dazed second or two, pete was back up and tried to keep running.
the passenger door opened and gaz hopped out. in three long strides, he caught up with him and barreled into his torso, tackling him to the ground. another punch, this one to the face, and pete went still.
johnny hopped out of the driver side and took a brief glance around, surveying the scene. he spotted you quickly and sprinted in your direction, looking you up and down.
“you good?” he asked, his blue eyes bright with worry.
he was still dressed for work, in his fatigues and a black tshirt. his gloved hands grasped your shoulders. “lass? are you okay?”
“johnny,” you choked, unable to look away from the fight. “he’s gonna kill him!”
johnny turned to see where you were looking and recognized price who hadn’t let up the hail of blows, despite cal’s bloody form lying motionless on the asphalt. gaz, having left pete in a pile on the street, was trying to get his captain’s attention.
john couldn’t seem to hear him as he landed another well aimed kick straight to cal’s teeth.
“shit!” johnny spun on his heels and booked it over to gaz. the two of them each grabbed one of john’s shoulders and hauled him backwards.
john cursed loudly as the two of them pulled him away from the mangled heap of a man.
“i’m fine! i’m fine!” he shouted, shaking them off, his shoulders heaving as he panted, seemingly coming out of a daze. blood trickled from his nose and a cut split his right eyebrow.
johnny leaned over and said something to him. his head snapped in your direction as if just remembering you were there.
he approached you, the wild look slowly leaving his eyes, replaced by something you hadn’t seen in a long time.
concern.
“love, are you alright?”
his bare knuckles were bloody as his hands ran up and down your arms.
as the adrenaline of the situation began to wear off, exhaustion swept over you.
you folded yourself into john’s chest, your brain processing only one thing: you were safe.
you were hardly aware of the fact that your entire body was shaking, but john noticed.
“it’s alright,” he murmured, putting a hand onto the back of your head. his fingers curled into your hair. “you’re alright.”
the two of you stood like that for a few minutes before you felt him slowly guide you to the passenger seat of his car.
he drove you home while johnny and kyle stayed behind to clean up the mess.
you had your feet tucked up in your seat, with your head resting against the passenger window.
john drove most of the way in silence until—
“you called gaz.”
you picked up your head to look over at him. his eyes were locked on the road, his scraped and bloodied hands gripping the wheel tightly.
“yeah?” you said quietly, missing his point.
“you called gaz,” he repeated.
this time, you recognized the unspoken words: you didn’t call me.
you didn’t reply right away, and the silence quickly grew heavy.
john pulled up to the curb outside your flat and put the car in park. he didn’t look at you.
finally you spoke.
“i wasn’t sure you’d come.”
his head snapped over to you with an incredulous look in his eyes, before it was masked quickly behind an emotionless stare.
“where’s your piece?” he questioned.
you bit your tongue for a moment, knowing he wasn’t going to like the answer you gave him.
“in my nightstand drawer,” you muttered.
his eyes flared. “why weren’t you carrying it? i told you to always carry it,” he scolded, his tone even, but stern.
indignation grew hot in your chest. “i’m a civilian, john,” you remind him pointedly. “i can’t just walk around with a gun.”
he narrowed his eyes, unconvinced. he had the gall to sound irritated with you for trying to defend yourself. “that never stopped you before.”
your jaw tightened. “because,” you growled. “before, i knew i’d have you to bail me out if i got into trouble for it.”
earlier, the silence had been dense and heavy, now it was delicate in a way that made you want to hold your breath. you could’ve heard a pin drop.
it was clear john was thinking, but about what, you weren’t sure. his face remained schooled into practiced neutrality.
for a brief moment, you thought he might say something, but he didn’t. instead, he opened his door and climbed out of the car, walking around to your side.
he opened the passenger side door. he held out his hand and looked at you expectantly.
you didn’t move right away, but watched him warily.
a moment passed.
when he raised his brows, you sighed, took his hand and let him help you from the vehicle.
without a word, you turned to walk towards your flat, but john didn’t release his hold on your hand.
you looked back at him.
he watched you, his a gaze that was intense but betrayed no emotion.
“you call me next time.” it wasn’t phrased as a question.
you tightened your jaw as you bit back the urge to remind him that he hadn’t done anything to prove his reliability since he came home. you had no reason to believe he’d be there for you.
he had no right to be frustrated with you for calling someone else when you were in trouble.
the anger must’ve shown on your face, because he tightened his grip on your hand. not painfully, but enough to convey meaning.
“understand?” he pressed.
you watched him with a steely gaze. “there won’t be a next time.” you tugged your hand back, sharply.
he dropped his empty hand to his side, flexing it open and closed. he looked at you, appraisingly and nodded once. he walked back to his car, leaving you standing on the sidewalk, more confused than ever.

Speaking of rain, have you ever noticed that in that conversation with Tommy on his last visit it’s storming? In fact the thunder seems perfectly timed with some of his statements like it’s highlighting Dream’s emotions.
[26:14] Tommy: “I’ve been suffering from success, while you weren’t here.” Dream: “Me too… Except without the sucess part, just suffering.” Tommy: “I mean you had it coming.” Dream: “Yeah…” Tommy: “I mean… you—you know you […] you know you’ve kinda… You have this coming, Dream—” *Thunder* “like all of this shit. Right?” *Thunder* “Yeah, I’m—I’m—I’m not gonna—” *Thunder* “I’m not gonna pity you, man. You have all this shit coming.”
[27:35] Tommy: “Why has this obsidian gone all pinky purplely by the way?” Dream: “It was um—Sam changed it.” Tommy: “Really?” Dream: “It was just for um… security purposes.” Tommy: “Really, Dream? Because this is called crying obsidian.” Dream: “That is true…” Tommy: “And you don’t…” Dream: “I like to watch it drip.” *Thunder*
[28:19] Tommy: “This is my last time here—” *Thunder* “I kinda—I don’t wanna…” Dream: “But why?” Tommy: “But why?… It’s like… Dream, you’re—you’re a villain, pal.” Dream: “Well, I mean…”  Tommy: “You’ve done—This is my—Listen, I’m not doing this whole ‘you are sad, we’re all happy’ like I—I’ve done this now. This is… Dream, this it’s really hard seeing you—This is—What you’re doing now this is like Exile. Do you remember that? Do you remember Exile? I don’t know how much you remember with all these tears and shit. This is—this is like Exile, man… I don’t wanna—I don’t wanna know you.”  Dream: “Well, Exile—it wasn’t—you can—too bad, right? I mean, you still—” *Thunder* “you had, you know… Like we hung out and stuff…”
It makes me wonder if this is a reflection of the server and its connection to Dream as the admin or something. I’m not sure whether cc!Dream did it on purpose or not, but I do know that in a stream with George, where he’s sulking after George killed him repeatedly, he pretty obviously uses the command to make it start raining [clip].
Honestly, whether intentional or not, I love the idea of the server reacting to Dream’s suffering and feelings. Like perhaps the weather during the prison arc seemed to be more stormy and gloomy than usual. Maybe it was hotter too, since he was hot in his lava covered cell, even as they made it into the October and November, it was the hottest fall they ever had… though that is kinda contradicted my Quackity’s montage and the snow [post]… still, it’s interesting to think about…

This brilliant little backstage scene deserves to be shared with the world and because i am who i am i also have to add my thoughts- once again, ignore them and just watch the vid if you so please :)
Tim casually sprinting away, what a delightful man :)
The way they have like… feet on either side of the stage, lots of space, but Tom and Sam are sitting right next to each other, absolutely not even an inch between them, legs and arms touching, talking about best first dates??? My heart😭
“Mainly… balance.” Both Tom and Sam’s shoulders moving in the same way when they laugh-
The way Tom is looking at Sam while listening-
“That would be amazing!” “that sounds awful.” the dichotomy lmaooo
“One of us? There's four of us?” Sam i love you so much- he automatically thinks of the other two not present they are like so close i'm gonna cry-
“I always think of the collective.” 😭💗💗
“How do you not understand how basic conversation works?” ribbing each other, the way true friends do, beautiful
Sam: *makes unidentifiable noises back to mock him*
“Tom!” The way Tom’s head snaps over to look at AJ, and Sam peters out to look over too. So responsive 😭
“I'm so glad we’re committing to that.” Tom i love you-
AJ just being the Tech King while Sam casually helps. Idk its domestic and cute ok leave me alone..
Tom’s “oooooh.” as AJ changes the lights- while casually not helping and being on his phone as Sam and AJ figure out the lights (jk hes probably doing admin stuff but its funny)
Joe: *slams into a chair* ow. Sam: *snickers* its a bit dark in the room AJ: *scoff laughs back*
The way they debrief is just amazing idk why but its so cute to see, they're supportive but still critical, but like constructively critical, and still supportive of each other. Plus the metaphors are great, and the laughing at each other
“Each of their… utterances.” The way AJ is smiling at Tom i cant-
“JAMES was a good man before we lost him.” “killed him.” XD
Gotta be honest maybe they were just showing the best clip, but the A-Z game is pretty fucking good. I think its the audience’s fault tbh, they're not hype enough
The explanation of how games come to be and how they figure it out is sooo good, im always nerdy and want to learn the thoughts/plans/processes behind it all so thank you!!!
“He says softly. Lets go get you onto a mechanical bull.” Sam contemplating what on earth to do with that. “NI HAO!” aaaand there comes AJ out of left field, perfect. Sam now utterly baffled, glorious
“That was joyous! That was good!” Sam coming in saying it was good when AJ and Tom were just complaining- but the way he immediately catches that they didn't feel exactly as confident about it as he did and going “no?” to just check and make sure, looking between both and not just one- brb crying they're such good friends he picks up on that-
Aj’s look at the camera lol “👀do you see this man?”
“Did that go alright?” the immediate reassurance they gave him-
“It feels like you have to start fucking-” “rowing.” finishing each others sentences and a good metaphor- i'm fine
AJ and Sam arguing as DaVinci and Michelangelo gives me life-
“It turns out i just made up a word.” idk who cameraman joe is, but i love him. Real
“Thats the straight white guy philosophy. Say it with confidence and keep walking.” I love how they address it and yet can joke about it, really refreshing 💗
“Stay safe, stay sexy.” thank you Sam, thats my life moto from now on
“And AJ anything from you?”... “I had a really fun time!” Yay!!!
“I’m pissed off. My clues.. were fucking genius. And the audience.. didn't get ‘em” Yes Aj, you tell ‘em!
“And the guys.. *voice crack/half sob* didn't even bother to try and like- *near tears* fucking- make a thing like-” *laughs* oh AJ, poor baby XD
“They just looked at me and then went: “i have a different clue!” Great!” sadness AJ, its ok, they still love you lol
Tom and Sam both in the same position watching AJ’s “genius clues” -Sam’s face of utter confusion and Tom just watching in interest trying to understand it at all
“You know, I also have a clue-” AJ’s slight smile. “I’m very glad because I have no idea what the fuck that was-” AJ having to laugh slightly at that
“Fucking shit im out of here!” *tries to do the cool storm out, but is also checking to see if he left anything behind, kinda ruining it XD*
“I have to know about the Nazi chinchilla-” firstly its wonderful explanation??? I guess, kinda makes sense- but let me just point out to you lovely people that Aj, in the background, downs his beer, steps up right behind Sam, and then takes his beer and also drinks his, and Sam just watches and nods- they’re too fucking cute what the heck-
Also AJ’s face mocking Sam in the background as he starts to explain- idk what prompted it, but it was hilarious
“What was the rant about?” “My clues were fucking great-” Sam: *starts cackling like ‘sure buddy, sure’*
“I got that one! I said that!” defending that he understands his friend- 😭
“I got it. I appreciated that one.” Calms AJ down slightly, so cute
Sam: *slips in advertisement as AJ casually blames the audience*
Aj and Sam’s hug at the end😭 cuties
Anyway thats it :) they're cute and yeah.
also! where was luke??????

DSMP AU Taglist
This is a masterpost for all my DSMP AUs, which will be updated as I remember them.
Convict Childcare AU - c!Sam makes a break for it and steals a toddler without thinking, and then decided that he's got this whole prisoner right here so clearly this is a functional babysitting arrangement. Nothing could possibly go wrong.
Godling Dream AU - This is that one AU that's like 3 posts of world building where DreamXD is doing whatever he can to keep this child alive so he won't be alone anymore. He's not perfect, but he's dealing with a lot.
Feral Ender Dragon AU - There's an ENDER DRAGON, loose on the SMP!
Eldritch Dream AU - Listen, in c!Dream's defense, he thought they were just playing around with all that torture and murder stuff. How was he supposed to know it was real for them? He's so sad about all the worldbuilding he did for this LARP that now's totally wasted.
Dreamon Improv AU - c!Dream got possessed by a dreamon that feeds off of his connections to other people. It's an old virus that has destroyed countless servers, it's feasted on hundreds of thousands if not millions of players before him. But c!Dream has something that none of those people had; an absolutely batshit plan and a willingness to commit to it 1000%.
God Meeting AU - c!Kristen keeps showing up to drag DreamXD to meetings and accidentally grabs the wrong Dream. She's in a bit of a rush, so she decided this is fine and c!Dream finds himself drafted into showing up to godly meetings since DreamXD refuses to.
Apology Cake AU - Is c!Sam a moron or attempting murder?c!Dream isn't sure. But his head is aching from escaping from hunters and he's decided this is probably fine.
Time Blind AU - c!Dream left 5 minutes into making the SMP and got replaced by an impostor, something only discovered when someone stumbles onto the giant parkour course he's been building, unaware that he's been gone for like a year and not a few hours. Adhd's like that sometimes.
Admin c!Dream AU - c!Dream is the admin of the DSMP, he's self taught, and c!Phil is in hell.
Manhunt AU - c!Dream is suddenly being chased by like 5 men and he's kinda fine with it.

I'm not scared! Colby Brock x MotoGPDriver! Reader Part 4
Plot: You made a tweet about Sam and Colby and were in a podcast and they brought up Sam and Colby where you talked about the paranormal and how it doesn't really scare you because you drive motorcycles at over 200mph.
Credit to misscalliopecruz for the GIF
Tumblr media
You didn't realize just how easy it was for Sam and Colby to make calls to these haunted locations and be given permissions to film investigations.
You'd been set up for literally 3 days time which made you guys feel even more excited as it was such short notice. Colby and Sam spent the time charging all the equipment, booking hotels and doing all the admin stuff you'd offered to help them with but they'd refused saying you should try and get a few good nights of sleep while you could, so you stayed in your flat making sure you had a comfy enough outfit ready to go in.
Colby had practically begged you to wear their merch, so of course you took the hoodie he'd given to you. You'd planned to wear it with a pair of bootleg jeans as even though it was very clearly British Time you gathered in the middle of the night in an old creepy castle it would get cold. Which is why you were thankful for the hoodie rather than a top as the piece of merch Colby gifted you.
You kind of wanted to make Colby and Sam wear some of you Red Bull Merch but thought maybe that was going a bit too far so you left them packed away in the rucksack you were going to be taking with you.
You had a later night on the day before the investigation so you were able to stay up till around 4 or 5am, ending up waking up for around 11am. You did your morning workout before getting something to eat and had a slow evening before meeting up with the boys.
"Are you okay driving?" Colby asks as you all walk down to the car park of the hotel they were staying in.
"Any reason, or just because I'm the better driver?" you smirk, knowing full well you were the better driver.
"I just don't like driving in the UK, it's way more complicated than the US, those roundabouts... wild things!" he jokes, even though there was some truth to it.
"Yeah sure, I don't mind... but If I'm driving its my Spotify playlist on shuffle..." you reason and they both nod agreeing, not petty enough to start a disagreement over music, especially when you guys would probably have similar music tastes.
The drive to the castle was fun, you were all talking about the history you guys had researched and what was there.
When you pulled up, you got this zing of excitement down you spine.
"Guys, I'm really excited for this" you exclaim looking back at them getting all the stuff out the car while you were in awe of the building.
It was a huge location and you already knew that the boys would challenge you to go somewhere alone because of how big it was.
The boys got out their camera and you waited off to the side as they did their intro.
"What's up guys its Sam and Colby and today we are here a Dannamore Castle in the UK, one of the most haunted Castles in the world!" Colby says with that normal cryptic sort of look on his face.
"And as you guys probably expected from our recent trip to see out good friend, today we have Y/N Y/L/N here with us!" Sam introduces panning the camera round to you making you smile and bunch up closer to them.
"Hey!" you grin and the boys turn to you.
"Okay for those who don't know Y/N is a MotoGP rider to she basically rides motorbikes really quickly round race-tracks for a living and she's really good at it too. The reason she is here is because she said she wouldn't be scared to come onto one of our videos and we really want to put that to the test" Colby mentions and you blush at the praise, entirely used to but it still got you every time.
They cut the cameras after showing the outside of the area saying that they'd be filming a lot of the history out-takes in their studio at home and having watched their videos you knew what they meant.
Two men and a lady came out, one was the caretaker, another was a tour guide and the other a medium of sorts that worked with the place.
Sam and Colby started to talk to the caretaker that would help in showing you round later when you walked off.
You thought you saw something dash out the corner of your eye, Sam and Colby were too busy listening too all the ins and outs of the area, what rooms you didn't have access to which in this particular castle wasn't actually that many just the unsafe spaces where the wooden flooring had gotten too old and they hadn't rebuilt it yet.
"Where's your friend?" the caretaker asks seeing that the girl wasn't where she had been a minute ago.
The others look around trying to see if you were behind the car or near the entrance but you were nowhere in sight.
"Y/N?" Colby yelled out. Sam following with a shout of his own name.
"Yeah?" you ask walking from behind a stone wall that ran behind the castle into the gardens.
"Where did you run off to?" Sam asks and the caretakers also look intrigued.
"Something caught the corner of my eye and I wanted to see if anyone else was on the property" you shrug your shoulder making Sam look to the now turned on camera Colby had, as they had started to film the minute the group were aware that you were missing.
"You just left, because you saw something?" Colby asks and you nod, making Sam chuckle. They cut the cameras, giving you a small run down of the castle, which rooms you guys weren't allowed it and when you guys had to leave by.
They also further explained not having got there before that it would just be you guys in there tonight, the caretaker however stays in the barn that was technically 'on the property' but not inside the castle just for legal purposes.
"So this is the centre of the castle. Back in the day, all residents from the Dannamore family and their friends would have been around here as this was and still is a hub" the tour guide smiles as you all look around the expanse of the hall.
"Who was part of the Dannamore Family, I'm guessing we'll meet some of them tonight?" you smile asking intrigued.
"Well Drake Dannamore has always been the most present spirit we have here. He is the original resident of the castle" she starts and you all nod.
"Is he cool?" Colby asks making you turn to him in shock. How is he referring to a like 1000 year old spirit as cool.
"He's a kind spirit yes. Y/N you'll get most the activity from him, he's the protector of this house... practically the women" she smiles.
"Really? Why's that?" Sam asks.
"Well, Drake..." she starts and you guys hear a knock from the back of the room making you all look there and the guide and caretaker laugh a little.
"I think he's here with us!" she smiles looking around before continuing.
"He married Valisa Dupont a French Lady from a wealthy family. Their family gifted and built this castle as a sign of their gratitude for Drake protecting Valisa. However, Valisa did not love Drake and apparently she became very spiteful towards him. She would cheat on him with the bakers boy who worked and lived in the home. She neglected their children making Drake exhausted" she starts and you feel a sort of overwhelming sadness wash over you. Enough for you to reach up and hold you chest.
"Vasila attempted to kill Drake but ended up mistakenly poisoning his sister Darcey. He ended the relationship with her, and she was livid. He moved on and married Bianca, who mysteriously died one night after saying for years she felt like she was being watched. People working in the castle at the time reported that Vasila killed Bianca out of jealously. Drake was in anguish and after that refused to marry again. He tried to protect Bianca as much as possible thinking Vasila was terrorizing her. After that its said that Drake either pushed her or she threw herself from the east tower, falling to her death" she finishes and you all look in shock.
"So he protects females that come into the castle from Vasila, who i'm guessing remains here as a negative energy because he feels like he needs to do what he couldn't do for Bianca?" you ask and a creak or footsteps was heard from above making all your heads snap up.
"I'd take that as a yes!" Colby laughs making you laugh as well.
"So this is an active place for all the spirits?" Sam asks looking around.
"Not all, but most. Drake can be found here along with his children who are also protectors of the home. Bianca is also here who is a very friendly and kind spirit. But its not just people who have lived in the castle. There's portals here too" the caretaker answers showing the mirrors that were facing each other.
"Woah?" you say stepping closer to Colby where the mirrors are.
"So what do we need to be wary of?" Colby asks.
"Vasila, of course. She doesn't like any-one male or female. She's been known to touch and scratch and make lots of loud noises but she's only in certain areas of the house like the tower and the pantry room" she explains.
"Because of her relationship with the baker boy?" Sam asks and she nods.
"Y/N you'll need to be extra careful of the baker boy" she admits and you look off to the left.
"Why?"
"He doesn't like ... dominant women!" she exclaims looking down, making you frown with a small laugh.
"I'm a dominant woman?" you ask with a laugh.
"Just like your presence, the tattoos, biker personality and just your aura she means, your head strong which is something Madison didn't like" the medium says for the first time since being here.
"Madison?" Sam asks.
"The baker boy, that was his name Madison!" he answers.
This would make for an interesting night!

hi Emu! every time a sfth question pops into my head, I immediately come onto your blog to see if it's been answered lol
I really hope this hasn't been asked already (if it has, I couldn't find it), but do you know what sfth stuff each of the boys does? like I think I've heard that AJ and Tom do the editing, Tom has a scheduling spreadsheet, and recently Luke has been writing descriptions for the videos.... do they stick to the same tasks or does each of them do a bit of everything? and what's all the "admin" stuff Tom keeps talking about???
anyway, hope you're having a fantastic day/night!
Hello! (Sorry for taking a couple of days to answer this, my tumbir keeps crashing right as I'm trying to post things)
Honestly there's bound to be a LOT of admin things that the guys do, and I don't quite know them all :) With most things, I reckon there's not really a sure way to know exactly who's done what. They might have set things they do for some tasks, and others that are more just any of them, but I really don't know. I do know that Tom does the longform thumbnails and some of the game ones, and Luke does the rest of the game ones. Tom and AJ also tend to take care of posting things on patreon.
I think I remember one of them once mentioned how Sam and Luke both have day jobs which means that Tom and AJ have a bit more time on their hands to deal with sfth stuff. I believe Tom and AJ also have all of sfth's footage between the two of them on hard drives.
SFTH have editors and an agent, as well as people who film them/take care of tech (eg live-streamed shows) (who also edit, I think?) The subtitle and translation teams are fan volunteers.
And to answer what admin is, it's basically just the things that need to happen behind the scenes for everything to actually go ahead (and go well) - so like the organisation and the paperwork and the contacting people and venues and the making big decisions and the planning patreon things, that's admin. Also stuff like making the thumbnails, writing the descriptions and actually uploading the videos would be admin too. I'd imagine that their agent would probably be contacting venues and booking shows, but ldk.
Hopefully this answers your question! :)
And I hope you have a good day/night

hiya medusa its been a while! im curious - as someone who has been watching phil for a while now, have you noticed anything specific thats changed with how he does rp/creates his characters? ive not had the chance to see much of his qsmp stuff, but i imagine having done various smps with various levels of rp/lore, there must have been changes to his approach
Okay so there have been two big changes from DSMP to QSMP that I've noticed. The first one is just that Phil is way more willing to do lore, and to tell his own story? In DSMP he was constantly deferring to whoever the writers were for the arc and never wanted to run over any of that, so he'd be really reluctant to join RP when it wasn't "official canon" and he'd be very careful not to overstep the bounds of the story other people had written. It was always lore being written by someone else— wilbur or techno or tommy or sam or dream— I think the syndicate end is the only one he actually fully wrote? On QSMP he's WAY more open with telling his own story. With the ender king possession arc that we just had, he just role-played for I think over two hours over two different streams, and that was a story he built collaboratively with the admins, but it was also one he clearly had a hand in himself. So I would say just the willingness to roleplay and tell a story is much increased. And he's using cinematics and special Minecraft skins and voice modulators— he's going for it!
The other change is uh, the gay roleplay and flirting. If you watch things like Hexxit Homies Phil definitely used to be more comfortable playing into the relationship rp, but on DSMP he was surrounded by minors or characters he was canonically related to or creators who didn't really go for flirting on-screen (techno). So all of that stopped. And then he went to QSMP and FitMC was there, and Charlie Slime, and Etoiles, and Missa, and boy. Phil flirts back/rps back now. And will say things like "stay away from my platonic husband!" and put his bed next to someone's, and pole dance on his husband, and tell FitMC he's stolen his heart, and talk about his cock with Etoiles, and much more. You can just tell that he has way less issue with the jokes and the implications now. Which honestly makes perfect sense, playing into gay rp with someone who can legally rent a car and who is clearly delightedly making jokes about it is not the the same as with a sixteen year old. To understate the situation slightly.

Tumblr media
On Tuesday afternoon after work, you were excited to see Steve. And honestly, you hadn’t been this excited for anything in a long time. Giddy, almost, and it felt completely out of character. You were so used to your schedule and your normal obligations, that the things out of the ordinary seemed like such a burden, but this was anything but. You weren’t sure how everything felt like it changed so quickly.
You pulled up to a modern townhouse on the edge of the city in an unbelievably nice area. Sure, it was gorgeous, and evidently expensive, but its inconvenience led you to believe that this wasn’t Steve’s only place. He probably had a country home, and an apartment in the heart of town in addition to this. This place seemed too relaxed to be where someone who had such an insane schedule, from what you could draw, would live. And that’s the thing, it didn’t seem very lived-in from what you could see through the floor-to-ceiling windows that flanked the front door.
As you rang the bell, you almost expected a house cleaner, or a butler to come greet you, but instead, you saw Steve emerge from some distant hallway. He was in a leather jacket, with a deep blue collared shirt underneath, not dressed down, but not dressed up at all compared to what you’d usually seen him wear to work.
As he saw you though the glass, though, and smiled brightly, you weren’t able to return it, feeling something shift in the air behind you. You whipped around to see if anything was there, but you were just met with an empty street, filled only by cars on the quiet block. It was similar to how you’d been feeling for the past week or so, but every time you turned around, nothing was there, so you tried to brush it off.
By the time you went to face forward again, Steve was at the door, looking down to where you stood on the steps. You nervously smiled up at him as he gestured for you to come in.
He grabbed your bag from you, giving a side hug that squeezed your shoulders, along with a greeting of a kiss on the top of your head. “Welcome, sweetheart. I’d give you a tour, but there’s not really much on this level. All the good stuff is downstairs. I’ll show you where you can get changed if you want.
You nodded along, still in your pantsuit, the product of sitting in the courthouse for another case today. But it wasn’t all bad, because you got to briefly hang out with DA Barber. He let you walk around his office during breaks, looking through his knick knacks. You spoke to his admin, who for some reason had dozens of pens on hand, offering you as many as you wanted. Of course you took a bunch, picking out a particularly nice one for Steve and tucking it in your jacket pocket to give to him this evening.
You walked through the house with its tall ceilings, awe-struck at its simple beauty, despite how barren it seemed. That was only the front entry way, though, because Steve led you down a set of steps to a basement which he had finished and turned into what you assumed was his man cave. The walls were lined with art, interesting and intricate, yet surprisingly complementary to the dark tones that filled the space. In the middle, near a fully stocked bar, sat a pool table. It really was a nice little setup.
Steve stopped just before you got there, though, turning around and showing you where the bathroom was and leaving you to it.
Tumblr media
It was a relief to be out of that blazer, and when you emerged from the restroom, you could see Steve had laid out a set of hangers for you so it didn’t get wrinkled. He was leaning up against the bar, ankles crossed across each other, sipping a glass of water.
“So can I get you anything? Water? Coffee? A cocktail? Dinner?”
You smiled and your eyes lit up. “Dinner?” He laughed and nodded, sauntering over to you and wrapping his arms around your waist as yours gravitated to his shoulders.
“Yeah, dinner. I’d say your favorite is already on the way, but I wanted to make sure you don’t get sick of it, so I figured I’d let you choose. Anything you want.”
He leaned in to press a quick peck to your lips that left you chasing for more, to which he happily obliged. You pulled away for breath, putting your forehead against his chest for a second to think. “Why don’t you surprise me. Something good. We’ll save the pasta for later this week. Maybe it can be road-trip food to take down to the farm. Bee will love it, too, I’m sure.”
He nodded, pulling out his phone to send in your surprise order, before walking back over to the bar and grabbing his beer, taking a sip and wordlessly offering you one, which you accepted. Before you took a sip, though, you remembered what you had brought him.
“Oh! By the way, I have something for you!” You went over to your bag, missing Steve’s surprised expression, but hearing a faint “oh?” followed by his footsteps in your direction.
You fished around, speaking over your shoulder intermittently. “It’s not much, but I figured since you sent me all those nice things the other week, that I should return the favor. Plus, I felt kinda bad for kicking you out of my apartment on Saturday.”
Steve set down his bottle, walking to your side when you finally found what you were looking for. “Ah! Here it is.”
When you stood, your face was almost right next to his, so you took half a step back, awkwardly shoving your hand between the two of you. “I got you a pen-But it’s uh… a really nice pen. One of those ones people use to sign official documents and stuff. I stole it from the DA’s office, so I guess it’s not an official gift, but I thought you would like it and I figured you do that kind of stuff a lot in day-to-day life, although I’m not really sure-“
You were cut off from your rambling by his hand over yours, accepting the present, and engulfing your digits in his. You took in a sharp gasp, looking between where the two of you met and his warm gaze.
“Thank you, Sweetheart. I really appreciate it. No matter where you got it.”
You tried to force yourself to swallow, your mouth growing dry at the contact. Even though you had kissed, something about this moment had seemed more intimate than before. You raised your other hand, bracing it against his chest because you were worried that if you didn’t, your jello arm would drop, pulling the rest of your body along with it. “And, um. A deck of cards. I got you a really nice deck of cards. Professional grade.”
You could feel the puff of air that came from his breathy laugh as his other hand came up to meet yours. “Thank you. This really wasn’t necessary, but I love it.” You simply nodded and pushed yourself away from him, trying to break the moment. Sure, you loved being that close, and you couldn’t have gotten a better response, but it was a lot to take in.
You turned around to get out of your own head and attempt to regain some logic since your mind had almost gone empty right there. “So…um..pool, right? You think you can beat me?”
You had pulled in on yourself, arms close to your chest, but pointing toward the table, as you finally brought your body to turn around again and face Steve. You were met with a view of his broad back, carefully setting your gifts on a shelf and reaching for the cues.
“You know, now that I know what your nickname means, I’m not sure. It’s my understanding that you’re far better than you let on and you were keeping it a secret.”
Somehow he had already put you at ease again. He walked past you, towards a brick pillar off to the side of the room to grab the rest of the equipment you needed to start. You rolled your eyes, shifting your feet so you continued to face him. “I wasn’t keeping anything a secret. I just don’t blab about that stuff. And to be fair, you never asked me.”
Steve shrugged as he handed you the cue. “I guess you’re right. And you wouldn’t be mad at me either, for not telling you something you didn’t ask specifically, right?”
That was weird. Was there something he wasn’t telling you? Your eyebrows went from relaxed, to drawn inward with suspicion. “Well, it depends on the thing, I guess…”
You tried to brush it off, and it helped that Steve did, too. Maybe he was just curious and had some sort of surprise planned. Or maybe it was something else, but the way he quickly moved onto the next subject helped you to do the same, as you started the first round.
Tumblr media
Steve had let you break to start out, which led to your immediate win. He had a smile laced with several emotions all at once as he watched you move with grace, confidence, and ease around the table. By the time you were starting the second game, Steve breaking this time, you heard someone walking down the stairs. It would’ve concerned you that someone random was in his home if Steve wasn’t acting so casual about it.
“Ah, that must be Sam with dinner. Bar food for the bar mood. I hope you like fries.”
Just then, the figure emerged from the staircase, wearing a suit. Figures. He made a beeline for you, reaching out your hand and shaking it. “Hi, you must be Decks. It’s so nice to meet you. I’m Sam. I was at the farm all those weeks ago, but I’m sorry we didn’t get to cross paths.”
You shook his hand happily before he asked to pull Steve aside for a moment. He seemed really nice, and who could complain about someone who appeared to be a friend, bearing food?
You took the opportunity to open the paper bag, setting everything out on the bar, fries packaged separately from a plethora of toppings to stay crispy. How thoughtful. You began your snacking before Steve came back.
He returned with a feigned offended look on his face. “So, what? I leave for a second and you’ve already started without me? How’s that fair?”
You laughed and looked at him, fry sticking out of your mouth like a cigarette, simply shrugging until he surprised you by jumping forward and chomping off the other end of the fry, cutting it short.
If you weren’t so focused on not losing what bit was left in your mouth, your jaw would’ve dropped in shock. Steve carried on like almost nothing had happened and picked up his cue again, speaking with his mouth half full. “So it’s my turn still, right?”
Tumblr media
The games continued on like that, you and Steve going back and forth on who started, taking shots with fries hanging out of your mouths, and you still winning effortlessly. But as the night went on, though, Steve seemed to be getting more focused on the game. He paid more attention to the angle of your shots, and was almost rooting for you to be better than him with a weird seriousness to it. It wasn’t really fun anymore, or at least the excitement seemed like it was starting to fade for some odd reason. He didn’t try to make any more moves on you, instead letting you be in your zone, making you feel like this was hardly a date anymore. It got to the point where he, rejoined by Sam, was just watching, beer long abandoned to sober up and focus. You’d just about had enough of it. Something wasn’t being spoken out into the open air. After this evaluation, you decided to run an experiment. To see if your hunch was right. On what should’ve been an easy shot, you instead moved an inch to the side, and sunk the 8 ball into the pocket before you were supposed to do. The tension in the room got worse and you could audibly hear Steve wince with a soft “shit.”
You turned around at that. You were right. Something was off about this whole thing.
“Okay, what is going on? Ever since I got here, you’ve been going through waves of being so serious, but that was the last nail in the coffin. I thought it was just because we were both nervous for my first time being at your place, but this is much more than that. I’m sure of it. So tell me what it is. Why are you pushing so hard for me to win?”
Steve couldn’t take his eyes off the ground, rubbing the back of his neck. Sam straightened in a bar stool next to him, his eyes roaming everywhere, not wanting to linger on you and the fire raising in your expression. This isn’t how Steve wanted this to go, but you knew too well something was up. He still stayed silent.
“Steve, why do we have to go back to the farm this weekend and why do I have to practice? Why is Bee not returning my calls, either? What’s riding on this game? Why is it such a big deal? And what do you have to do with this? Why are you so personally invested?”
Steve still didn’t say anything, finally daring himself to look up and into your eyes through his lashes. His expression was troubled. He started to open his mouth, but nothing came out. Suddenly it was all dry from your rage. This was his worst fear, well, besides the unspeakable things Lloyd might have planned if you lost. You were getting impatient, though. Even when Steve wasn’t smooth, he would still talk to you. Talking was something you thought the two of you did pretty well, but apparently not right now.
“Steven. Words!”
Steve let out a sigh, signaling for Sam to give the two of you the room. There was no escaping this now. He’d pushed the limit on the timeframe he had to tell you the truth. “Listen, Sweetheart. You’re right. There’s… a lot… you should know, that I haven’t told you, so let me start at the beginning.”
You didn’t have time for him to try and sugarcoat this. You wanted the whole truth and you wanted it now. And so help you if there was something going on that you weren’t aware about, that was causing you issues you could’ve prevented, someone was getting the brunt of it.
You dropped your cue on the table, stomping over to the beer fridge and grabbing another bottle, hell, why not two, and storming towards a comfy leather chair, throwing yourself down and crossing your legs. “Go on, Stevie. Speak.”
Normally, he would’ve been elated to hear you call him that, but it was nowhere near the tender manner he was hoping you’d use the first time. It was bitter, and biting, and he hadn’t even said anything yet. This was not going to go well.
He sighed and started, eyes on you as if he was trying not to spook a wounded animal, but you were already worse than spooked, you were angry. And no physical wound could hurt more than the distrust you were feeling right now.
“I guess I’ll start with what you already know. You know Bucky and I work with and own a lot of businesses. And you know that Bee’s farm is one of the ones we’re working with, and Bee’s been facing a lot of pressure from Cole lately to sell the farm.”
You nodded along, chugging down your beer and slamming it on the coffee table next to you, ditching the second bottle in favor of something stronger. You walked back over to the bar, not sparing Steve a glance, as you pulled the rolling ladder over to grab the bottle of Macallan off the shelf. You didn’t care what year it was. You just knew it was expensive, and he owed you at least this much after lying.
You stepped back down, deciding to forego a glass, and walked to your seat again, finally looking into his eyes. “Okay, now tell me what I don’t know.”
He hated how hard your eyes had become. How they’d grown dull already where they used to have a sparkle when they reflected his face. “The businesses that Bucky and I run… not all of them are legal. A few of them run outside the law, and at first, it was just because that’s how we were brought up, but we realized that we could change things, so we did.”
You took a swig from the bottle. You did not like where this was going. Steve fidgeted with the pool cue still standing in his hands.
“We were raised in a certain way, to be cutthroat, and unrelenting, and aggressive. Ready to serve our superiors, because that’s what we had to do to survive. To provide for our struggling families. And we were good at it. We were good at following orders, and playing the system, so it put us in leadership at a pretty young age. It seemed like the right thing, especially once both our parents were gone. But as time went on, we saw how damaging what we did could be, and wanted to fix it. Except there were some people who didn’t feel the same way. Some people who were simply power and money hungry and didn’t care who they were hurting. In specific, this one guy named Lloyd.”
You kept nodding along, getting slightly dizzy from the straight alcohol hitting you, and not expecting the lore to go this deep. You thought it could’ve been something more minor. Maybe Steve was in the witness protection program or something, because that could’ve been better than this trip of an explanation.
“Lloyd was a friend of ours, along with his sister. And Bucky was especially close with her. But they both left to go off to college, and we were really proud of them, but when they came back, they were different. Aggressive, uncaring for quality of goods, money hungry. Lillian, Lloyd’s sister became a huge lawyer, used to do his dirty business bidding, and Lloyd tried to start from the ground up, stepping on the territory Bucky and I fixed and taking advantage of people already in terrible positions. We don’t do what he does. We regulate things so people like him don’t take over. And we collected a lot of allies and truly good businesses along the way to help out with keeping the other side under wraps.”
You rolled your eyes waving your hand signaling that he was going on and on and on. “Okay, so you’re a criminal. What does this have to do with my best friend’s farm? And why I’m here right now, evidently practicing pool like my life depends on it?”
He rubbed a hand down his face, looking past you, over your shoulder, and out the window at the far end of the room. “Our business with Bee isn’t on the legal side. It’s on the other one. And it wasn’t until a few weeks in or so that we saw Lloyd was connected with Cole. So we were getting harassed from both ends. From Lloyd on our end, and Cole on hers. I assume she hasn’t been telling you this, but Cole’s been on her ass since Bucky left, and Lloyd has been on ours for months. Bee made a bet to end it for once and for all. A single game of pool. Winner takes all. Friends and family only, no pros, and she wants you to play for her side. She hasn’t been picking up your calls because I told her not to. I wanted the chance to lay this all out on the table for you. So you’d hear it from me. I know you’re a woman of the law, and I work outside it a lot, so I understand if you’re upset about that.”
You clenched your jaw, and if you did it any harder, your teeth might’ve broken. Your breaths were heaving out of flared nostrils. You took another sip, trying to find the proper way to reply to all of this, but your brain was too fuzzed for that. And it’s not like you would’ve wanted to do the right thing even if you were thinking clearly. Yelling seemed like a good option right now.
“Are you fucking kidding me!? She bet the farm on this game!? And you’re what? A crime lord!? But that’s not even what I’m the most mad about. You lied to me Steve. I trusted you and I gave you my time and I let you in easily to see things no one else does, and you lied.”
You tried to stand up, but were becoming too dizzy to do so. You were humbled, only briefly, so you asked another, softer question. “So what really is even your job then? Who are you and Bucky exactly?”
Steve put his pool cue back. “Bucky’s the boss.”
“And you?”
“Second in command.”
“And what’s Sam?”
“Number three.”
You nodded, yelling to Sam who you could still see standing on the staircase, listening to the whole thing.
“Hey! Number three! Can you bring me more fries from over there?”
Sam looked between you and Steve and Steve nodded, a solemn look on his face, letting Sam run over to the bar, and bring you the rest of the basket of fries. Once you’d had your fill, and the carbs soaked up some of the alcohol, you stood up, staring Steve down.
“Okay, fine. Since everyone thought they were best to make decisions regarding my own life, and make stupid ones in theirs without consulting me, I’ll give. You want me to practice more pool? I’ll practice. Rack ‘em.”
Steve wanted to tell you this wasn’t necessary. That he’d made a mistake. That you’ve proven yourself enough and that he was sorry, but his mouth was paralyzed. He believed that the best thing right now was just to give into whatever you needed to stay sane.
You broke the balls with more force than necessary, already getting a striped ball in a pocket, then kept making shots, not missing a single one. You called the eight ball to the far corner pocket before sinking it easily, even drunk off your ass.
“There. Happy? I won’t screw this up. So you can see I’ll do my best to make sure our friend keeps her farm and you get your little business deals to stay protected. I’ll see you on Saturday, tell Gio I’ll be waiting for him outside my apartment, and then hopefully, after I do my job, you and I won’t need to see each other… never again.”
Steve stood with his eyes focusing on you, yet he was zoned out. He should’ve told you sooner. He should’ve seen this all coming from waiting too long. What was worse than you finding out? You getting hurt. And he did that. He hurt you. He wouldn’t be able to live with himself if something happened to you because your guard was down because you didn’t know your true proximity to everything, but now that you did, he could see a thousand ways that it would’ve all gone smoother if he would’ve just been honest from the beginning.
You stormed across the basement, back towards where Sam was, and tossed him your keys. “You’re driving me home, Three.”
He followed you out the door, and you didn’t even care that you left your work clothes, and Steve, behind.
Tumblr media
Sam drove you home like a chauffeur, after you insisted on getting on the back seat so you could lay down. Now was as good of a time as ever to try calling Bee again, and this time, she finally picked up.
“Hey, Decks. How did your date with Steve go? He told me you were coming over tonight.” Even in your state, you could sense the caution in her tone.
“It was fucking awful, but I think you know that. I can’t believe you lied to me, too. Some guy I just met is one thing, but my best friend is another. And on top of that, I can’t believe you were stupid enough to make this big of a bet and put it on my shoulders.”
She simply hummed. She could probably tell you were drunk, she was one of the few to have seen it this bad before. She sighed before giving her response. “You know me. And you know I wouldn’t have made this sort of a deal if it wasn’t necessary. If I wasn’t desperate. But I’m not worried.”
She was silent for a second, but you let her be. She was gathering the right thing to say, and anything you wanted to throw in that free space would’ve made things worse.
“Decks, no one I know is better than you. When it comes to you as a person and you playing pool. And plus, it’s not like he can bring a pro or even semi-pro to come beat you. You’ve got this in the bag, knock on wood, and I hoped you would understand. The bet and the business.”
You sighed. You wanted to be snarky and mean, but she was just so logical, and you knew how grounded she was with that heart of gold and shit. She was the one who always shared reason with you. But it still didn’t excuse how reckless this all felt.
“Bee, using this skill to swindle people out of a couple bucks hardly counts as being good enough to save your legacy. That farm is your life. I have no quantification of the probability of my win, but I’ll do my best, I guess. I’m getting really tired, now, so I’m gonna let you go, and you and I can talk about your poor taste in men and this little lying streak of yours later.”
And with that, you hung up the phone and the world went black.

i did wind up having to do some work into monday & a little on tuesday, and should prrrrobably do a mid-break admin catch up session tomorrow, but even so i have been having a very nice time off! we were able to head up for family stuff on christmas eve into christmas day, which was very exciting because our nephew is now JUST old enough for real legos if he gets some help :) thursday i took for chipping away at chores (i conquered dish mountain and finally did All my laundry and hopefully can now settle into doing one load once a week like a normal person….); friday i went over a friend’s to watch cinema classique xtina/cher vehicle burlesque, in which among other miraculous happenings dr. sam from new girl fucks stanley tucci; saturday i split a pot of tea & a slice of pistachio-chocolate cake with a friend at a yemeni coffee shop & saw her again at the party after which some of us got a nightcap at a local bar and i wound up drunkenly booking a haircut at 4:25 in the morning, which is very silly but you know i’ve been putting it off for months; today i slept off last night and did some end of year journaling & reflecting and then headed into the city to catch babygirl with some friends, at which i had somehow an even better time than i had hoped for. i have mostly been extremely physically lazy but i did get my five workouts in even through the very worst of the luteal times; i have been extremely intellectually lazy more or less without exception. in my head when i pictured my Staycation i thought i would go to museums and such but i really forgot how much i need an effort shutdown at the end of the year and also hate leaving the apartment when it’s cold and i feel fortunate to have had fun find its way to me anyway. i have zero plans tomorrow and then fun plans four days in a row and then one final mostly empty day (which realistically speaking will also be spent sleeping off the night before), which seems basically ideal for me in terms of the relaxation-stimulation balance.

Summary:
Love stories don’t exist in a bubble, floating high and away from reality, able to grow and mature without the outside world’s influences. It’s simply naive. The strongest, the purest of true love stories survive the worst and thrive in life’s bullshit. Dean Winchester learned the hard way. He would never have guessed the awkward blue-eyed stranger on a bus would brighten his darkest days and define his happily ever after. Battling through his own terrifying diagnosis and his brother Sam’s demons, Dean might drown under the pummeling waves of his harsh reality. Instead, he uncovers the strength to break the surface and inhale with a solid hand in his, always. The light at the end of the tunnel is worth the fight to be reborn.

Admin Michelle here with another SPNFanFicPond Fic Highlight!
This fic is brought to us by @spn-fanfic-reblog-writes, who wanted to highlight this fic she loves as a late birthday present for herself! Belated Happy Birthday, Laili!
Tumblr media
First of all, this fic hits some SERIOUS topics, sits in the mess for a while, and generally makes you feel it, whether you like it or not. Sam is an asshole for part of this, and I got seriously angry at him. He says some stuff that blew my mind and made me want to knock him out, and that's not usually me with my Sam-loving heart. Thankfully, his asinine behavior doesn't last long, but WHEW! Also, cancer is a huge thing in this fic, so if dealing with cancer treatments and such is a trigger for you, you might want to skip this one.
That being said, Cas and Dean are so devoted to each other from the first moment, and you can't stop rooting for them through everything. Their meet-cute is adorable, and it's love at first sight! Everything else is just life, and I like it that way.
In short, if you want some Destiel FEELS that will make your chest ache with emotion, and can handle the topics addressed, this is the fic for you!!

KINITOPET THEORY: SONNY_C IS KINITO
there's a lot of evidence for this, so i'll show you guys it! (i got most of the pictures from Forever Nenaa's gameplay: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_UsjIm7G7bE&t=1409s)
Tumblr media
#1. if you type kinitopet.com/email in your real web browser this image pops up "as the subject of your article has unfortunately passed away", DID KINITO KILL SONNY OR SOMETHING?? THE HELL?? i think that whenever kinito pulls someone into his digital world, it kills them in a way. he asks them for admin permission, then uses that power to do the shit he's doing so, those people in the command prompt are dead! ___________________________________________
Tumblr media
#2. i don't know if you can see the image, but i've looked at the command prompt when it was deleting kinito and it says "removing file [sonnys_world.zip] from server ["kinito"]" which is pretty interesting... i'd also like to say, i think that dead body in sam's house is one of those people that you see in the command prompt... i do have a theory about sam and jade being humans but there's not much evidence except for sam's hanging body and when jade(?) says "i'm back here again, aren't i?" ___________________________________________ #3. the "IT'S NOT TOO LATE" email decoded
Tumblr media
i find this email especially very, very interesting. the line "a soul enshrouded, a spirit's mournful chime" is most likely about the other trapped souls... i honestly do not know what else to say about this poem, other than the fact that it is very impressive how the person wrote it so uniquely! this does imply some dark stuff though, like how kinito traps the souls of the players in the computer. ___________________________________________ #4. the "EJSY SZ O?" email decoded (click the images to expand)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
"I FEAR THAT WHEN YOU DELETE THAT SERVER YOU WILL DELETE ME" OHHH now we're talkin.. seeing at the very end, this makes me think that kinito took some of the stuff that sonny was saying in his head, and saying it directly to the player when he got deleted (kinito GUILT TRIPPING us god damn). and, from this email, sonny appears to be having an existential crisis! maybe the ai is feeding off of the souls' emotions for its own gain. it learns and adapts, remember? also, the "I KNOW THEORETICALLY I AM NOT REAL BUT I FEEL REAL" line makes me think that kinito took over sonny's mind for just a little bit. does kinito feel empathy after taking all these poor souls? honestly i'm seeing a lot of similarities with tadc and kinitopet (even though kinitopet came before tadc with the trailer but STILLLL). souls being trapped in a digital world with no escape, and some ai that apparently wants to be your friend...ALSO CIRCUS THEMED ESQUE STUFF _________________________________________ #5. this guy from the kinito plush ad
Tumblr media
am i the only one who thinks that this might be sonny? or, some completely different soul that arrived before you? _________________________________________ #6. the messages on the computer when you delete kinito
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
these messages hurt me to the bone. sonny used the power he had left to contact you in those last lines, saying his final goodbyes to you. he knew that it was inevitable for his fate to come, and it did. maybe the player burning the computer was freeing the souls somehow... you know DAMN WELL i thought of henry emily's speech while seeing that computer burn to a crisp i dont have a good conclusion for this but this is my theory that sonny_c is kinito (in a way)... But hey! that's just a theory. A GAY THEORY Wrong one A GAMMEEEE THEORY if i find more, i'll be sure to update this also i apologize if this isn't very well structured.. i just grabbed this stuff and said "holy shit sonny chamberlain is kinito"... i'd love to hear other people's theories though! i made this post at like 1 AM so that's why it's poorly written

Interview with Jacob Anderson, Sam Reid and Bailey Bass of “Interview with The Vampire” on AMC and AMC+ by Suzanne 9/29/22
This was a fun roundtable with the three stars of this great new vampire show. If you love vampire shows, or the Anne Rice novels, you should love this show. It’s very well done, and these actors are great in it. Jacob plays Louie, and we see the story through his eyes as told to ailing reporter Daniel Molloy (Eric Bogosian, who’s outstanding as always). Sam Reid plays LeStat, the seductive vamp that turns Louie and becomes his friend, lover, mentor, etc. Bailey plays Claudia, the young woman that joins them. They were very kind and fun to interview.
Suzanne:   Hi, I’m Suzanne Lanoue from TVMEG.com, and I’ve watched the first episode. I didn’t get screeners till this morning, so I only got to watch the first one so far, but I’m really enjoying it. It just grabs you and drags you in. So, congratulations on being renewed for season two already, which is great. Do you know when you’ll be starting to film season two, or have you already started filming it?
JACOB ANDERSON:   We haven’t started. We haven’t started shooting, no.
SAM REID:   Probably, I don’t know if we can say anything. [Laughs]
Suzanne:   Have they told you yet?
JACOB ANDERSON:   They haven’t not told us anything.
Suzanne:  [Chuckles} OK, well, thank you!
Jamie from SCIFI VISION:  Hi, I’m Jamie Ruby from SciFi Vision. Thanks for talking to us today, I really enjoyed the first five episodes that we’ve seen. So, for the three of you, can you kind of talk about how you balanced what you pulled from the book versus what you added with your own spin on it?
SAM REID:   Hello, Jamie, I’ll answer that. No. But I would say that anything for myself and my character, my own spin probably came from my own interpretation of the books and Rolins’ work. So, I wasn’t really trying to put any of my own spin on it. It’s just how I imagined it to be, really.
JACOB ANDERSON:   Yeah. I second that. It’s like, you will always view a character through your own lens to an extent and then it’s just kind of, I mean, I guess with anything, it’s like, do other do the other creative people like that, and do they want to discuss it? But you don’t want to mess with this. Like the combination of Anne Rice’s writing and Rolins’ writing, you don’t really want to touch it, you don’t want to just sort of throw your own stuff in just for the sake of it.
SAM REID:   They’re so dense already the characters that it sort of would be a shame to try and deviate too much of thing.
JACOB ANDERSON:   What could you possibly add?
SAM REID:   Yeah.
BAILEY BASS:   I feel the exact same way. It’s really, yes, we were cast because there’s something special in us that Rolin and the entire team really enjoyed when we were doing our auditions. But other than that, it’s really just doing the research and the book, reading the scripts, doing our own technique, and then just coming and creating in this world.
Jamie:  Okay, great. Thank you so much.
Jamie from STARRY MAG:  This is Jamie Steinberg, with Starry Constellation Magazine. Jacob, this is another deeply tortured soul for you to portray. Is there something about these kinds of characters that really draw you to them? Or is this them finding their way to you? Or is it something you see in them that really resonates with you and makes you want to portray them?
JACOB ANDERSON:   I think it’s a combination of both. We find each other. I think I’m slightly less like Grey Worm than I am like Louis. But yeah, I mean, I think you normally want to be like very boundaried when you talk about things and be like, “Oh, well, I’m so removed from the character, and I’m brilliant at acting and blah blah blah blah blah”. But to be honest, yeah, I feel very, very connected to Louis. It’s the thing that bothered me about how Anne Rice wrote him, and also how Rolin wrote him as well. Yeah, I’m drawn to characters who are searching. And I’d ask him questions, not just about the world, but about their place in it and what they contribute or don’t contribute to it. But yeah, I also I felt like it would be like, narcissistic of me to be like, “I am the only person who can play Louis.” But namely, because there is somebody else that’s done it, as well. Many people.
Jamie:  Well, I think you brings such a unique take on it, though, because of the artistry you have. Both of these characters that you mentioned, have just been wonderfully nuanced, I think through your portrayal. So it might be just a little bit time for you to pat yourself on the back for what you’ve brought to the role on your own.
JACOB ANDERSON:   This one’s for you, Bailey.
QUESTION:   Question for Jacob and Sam, one of the really interesting things about this particular adaptation is the romance that we kind of finally get to see between Louis and Lestat. Can you speak to that a little bit? What does it mean to you to be able to portray that relationship in that way?
SAM REID:   Well, I think AMC has the rights to the entire Vampire Chronicles, and so it’s very important to make sure that relationship is established early on. Particularly as the books progress, it becomes much more clear that they are in a very intense romantic relationship. So, I think it’s it’s great to make sure that we’re serving the story correctly. And it wouldn’t be Anne Rice’s Interview With The Vampire if it wasn’t there. So, yeah.
QUESTION:   I was wondering, and this is kind of specifically for Bailey and Sam, the show doesn’t shy away from race or that being a factor at all for their very long life experience. Was that important to you? And were you afraid of any ignorant backlash, because previously, the characters were paid by white actors?
BAILEY BASS:   I was really excited to play Claudia. It’s really a dream to play such a complex character that’s very loud and unapologetic. I honestly didn’t think twice about anything else. I just knew that Rolin was very intentional about the actors that he wanted to cast in the show, and I’m very fortunate that I was one of them. I just dove into all the research. I read the book. I would cross reference the book and the script and see the quotes that Rolin took from the book and was very intentional about adding them into the script. After doing all the research, I mean, I became Claudia and it was fun to play her.
JACOB ANDERSON:   Yeah, I think something that Rolin’s done, which is – I’m almost loath to call it important, but like it creates a richness is that this isn’t a colorblind casting situation. Louis’ central question is about his humanity and his place in humanity. I think that if you were to cast a black actor or black actors for Louis and Claudia, and to not address that, you’d take a lot away from that question of their humanity. I’m glad that we don’t shy away from it. And in terms of backlash, I just don’t want to give it energy anymore. Like I just – people are going to – I think people need to be seen. Sometimes they’ll say anything to be seen or recognized, and it’s sad, but it’s the internet.
QUESTION:   I would love for you to talk a little bit about what it’s like just being vampires, being able to play vampires when biting people and having these kinds of scenes. What goes into that and how much fun is that to play? How difficult is that to play?
SAM REID:
It’s very fun. It’s very fun. Yeah, you know, because we’ve got a lot of elements that come into every scene. So, they’re very beautiful, sort of rich dialogue-heavy scenes, but we also have this whole element of the vampire, you know, he kills, so we’ll be pausing for the blood to be put in. We had all these different types of blood that we’d been drinking and tasting, and they made us hibicus flavored blood when we had to drink large amounts of it.
JACOB ANDERSON:
It did not taste like hibiscus. It tasted like it was like a Sour Patch Kid.
SAM REID:   Yeah.
JACOB ANDERSON:   But in liquid form.
SAM REID:   But there’s a lot of thought and consideration [that had] gone into this. But yeah, it’s so much fun, really. Vampires are, I think, the best type of monster, because they have so much humanity. They’re so articulate. They experience a huge amount. Anne Rice is responsible for our shift in vampires, because she puts the perspective into the eyes of the monster, and you have empathy for them. So, it’s very fun to do these really extreme, horrific things, but also with a level of understanding and empathy and bringing that into the character. So, it’s a fun thing to do.
JACOB ANDERSON:   It’s the best! It’s the best. The best monsters.
Jamie from SCIFI VISION:  So, obviously, you guys do go to some really dark places, though, with your characters. Can you sort of talk about getting into that headspace, and how you sort of, I guess, get back out of it? Is it hard to sort of go there? For all three of you.
BAILEY BASS:   Yeah, it’s hard. We had such long days that it kind of, for me personally, it was hard for me to differ[entiate], like, who’s Claudia and who’s Bailey. So, I kind of had to, like really sit with myself and reflect, but it’s hard. But then also, this is what I love to do, and playing such an extreme character, that’s what makes it fun is that I get to relive and be in these spaces that I would never normally be in if I didn’t get to play Claudia. But the dark, even though it’s dark and everything, I definitely enjoyed it. And I had Sam and Jacob, which they were incredible scene partners, and we all had each other. We made sure that throughout the whole process, our mental health, even though we’re like hysterically crying sometimes that afterwards, our mental health was still good,
SAM REID:   I think to Bailey’s point, like, sometimes the darkest jobs or the darkest sets where the material is the most bleak are the most fun, because, we instinctively know how to just kind of like, help ourselves through that. So, we’ll be making a lot of jokes. You know, it is ridiculous, sometimes what we’re doing, and you have to step back and think [laughs] You know, we’re suspended in the air, covered in blood, so we just kept it light. It was a fun thing to do.
JACOB ANDERSON:   Yeah, I agree. I mean, it’s dense. It’s dense, so you need to focus on the language as well. Like, aside from, yeah, we had a lot of fun, but when you’re doing the scene, you focus on what you’re doing. And I think if you let yourself get dragged into it too much, then hard to to do your job, I think.
Jamie from STARRY MAG:  Bailey, this is such a beautiful costume you have. Talk about when you first saw what you’d be wearing for the series, and if you had any input, and if it takes really putting on that costume to embody your character.
BAILEY BASS:   Costume is one of my favorite things in my job, being able to speak with the costume designer and be able to talk about what she saw when she read the script, because it’s not just me, it’s a big collaboration of an incredible crew that helps make us look good, basically. And to be able to talk to hair, makeup, and costume and get to know what their first ideas were when they read the script, and then being able to collaborate with them and say what I thought, was really, really fun. And the costume designer for this show, Carol, was just so collaborative. I came in and we were talking about posture. That’s a very big thing for Claudia, because in the beginning, she’s like fourteen years old, and she’s excited being a vampire. She would shrug a lot and just walked like, however and had terrible posture. So, the costume designer would think about that when she was making the costumes. And then also I have to look like a little girl. So, she created these beautiful bows along with making sure that the shape of my costumes hid any curves possible. So, when I put them on, I really felt like a little girl. So, when I was doing the scenes where Claudia is struggling, she wants to be a woman, and I’m sitting in this pink dress that it’s not flattering to anything that’s me as Bailey, it was really easy to feel what Claudia would be feeling at that moment.
Suzanne:   I really enjoyed the wedding scene and your dancing, Jacob; that was great. Was that actually you dancing? And did you have to train for that, or did you already know how, and will there be any more singing or dancing in the show?
JACOB ANDERSON:   That was me and Steven Norfleet, who plays Paul, and we had about a month to train, to practice. I don’t know if you’ve ever done tap dancing, but it’s like learning how to walk again, like how to walk for the first time, like to get your brain to coordinate in that way and to like shift the weight of your body is really confusing. And to add to that we did a lot of our lessons on Sikkim (???). And it’s all like, it’s all sound. You like making music with your feet, but with the lag of, of like, you know, doing it online. But you just drill; you just drill it every day. You drill it every day, and just you have to listen. It’s less about like being mechanical about your body and just like listening to the sound. But there is there is more dancing in the show.
Suzanne:   Oh, good.
JACOB ANDERSON:   Yeah. It was in the trailer, right?
SAM REID:   Yeah, the three of us did dancing lessons.
JACOB ANDERSON:   Yeah, we did.
QUESTION:   I’m curious to just have any of you or all of you talk a little bit about what you love most about the dynamic between all three of your characters, either once Claudia comes in, or kind of as that progresses.
JACOB ANDERSON:   I find it, I think from Louis’ point of view, he’s trying to recreate a kind of family dynamic that he is grieving for in his human life. I think it’s probably the thing that he misses most in some ways. It’s like a grounding thing, is his brother and his sister and his mom, maybe to a lesser extent, but maybe not. So, I find the way that it kind of goes for them, and for him, it’s kind of unexpected. I think he wanted, he was hoping that in bringing somebody else into their family, I think he thought that Claudia might be like him. [laughs] So, it’s interesting. I feel like an outcast, but to also be a part of – I mean, I’ll let Bailey talk more about about that part of it, but really, Claudia ends up being sort of forgotten about a little bit, and their dynamic, which is sad.
BAILEY BASS:   I think what’s wonderful though, is that there’s really no protagonist or antagonist. It changes through every scene in every episode, because these characters are so specific and complex, and Rolin Jones, the writer of the show, did an incredible job of explaining in depth why we do what we do. There’s a reason why we kill the people that we do, why we hurt each other. And because of that, the viewer kind of feels bad for the person hurting the other, but then also feels bad for the person being hurt.
QUESTION:   So, obviously, as vampires, your characters live very long lives. Which era would you like to see, be able to play your character in?
JACOB ANDERSON:   80s 80s 80s. I want the pastels. I want the hair. Let’s go, 80s.
SAM REID:   I’d probably do the 1700s. I think Lestat really that is where he’s from, and that’s the era in which he was born into, so I’d quite like to see him in that in that era.
BAILEY BASS:   I just want to get to the 50s. Like, I just want Claudia to get to the 50s so I can wear all those skirts and just explore more hairstyles, because we evolved. Doing the prep work, there wasn’t a lot of hairstyles – we had a horrible of time looking for photos of black girls in that time period with very versatile hair, which we know they existed, just no one took pictures of them. So, to be able to expand that more and show women who have curly hair, that this is what they look like in that time. I’d love to expand that and go into the 40s and 50s.

Just making a quick apology for dropping off the face of earth- I've a had a lot of rough stuff going on real life and family wise and so I'm just not really drawing as much as I wish I could. I've been really trying to put what energy I have left into drawing for Artfight and the occasional Dnd ocs doodle So for the time being, I'm not going to drawing/posting SAMS. Unfortunately this also means a pause on Triplets au and possibly Umbra AU (Depending if admin Bloodmoon continues posting for the time being, that's up to them- but please do not pressure them!!)
Please don't worry, I have so much planned for Triplets AU that once things settle, I'll post more lore- but for now, I need to just go with what feels good in the moment.
Tumblr media
I've also added T!Bloodmoon and the over all triplets to my Artfight! So if you guys want to attack with them, you'll find them here!: https://artfight.net/character/5426419.bloodmoon-triplets-au Thank you guys for being so hype and supportive for the AU- hopefully you'll be just has hyped when I come back ^^"
