More Smiling Friends!

After hearing about we're getting more episodes of this show, I decided to draw more of them

Wanted to use again the sketchbook and the alcohol markers, so here are all the main characters of the show

And happy April Fools :o)

I have finally made myself a self insert for Aqua Teen Hunger Force (aka the show where I got my very first fictional crush)!

She has a fairly simple backstory this time around: Basically, she is a anthropomorphic dinosaur nugget that was created to be a food mascot by the food company that created and distributed NuggoSaurz™ Dino Nuggets; a very popular brand of dinosaur nuggets well known for their mismatched body parts (for example one nugget is a t-rex with the body of a brontosaurus)

Throughout her 20s, she pretty much had everything fame had to offer, but by the time she turned 30 she retired due to a lack of work coming her way. Despite this, her face is still on very box of NuggoSaurz™ and receives royalty checks that she lives off of due to this

Due to this, she is a very jaded, brash, abrasive, stubborn, and huffy person, but she is also compassionate, kind, and very generous and helpful when she needs to be. She also has a maternal side that she shows a lot to Meatwad but takes a lot for her to show it openly

She now lives next door to the right of Frylock, Master Shake, and Meatwad. She is also the constant on-and-off(-and-on-again) girlfriend of Master Shake that loves to join in on his reign of terror but can also get very pissed with him whenever he goes too far (for example screwing her over in any way or hurting Meatwad)

In fact, she got her scar from Shake when she first met him (aka he threw a Japanese nata into her eye when he was meeting to hit Meatwad with it, lets just say Nuggette was pissed and beaten the tar out of Shake for it, he somehow was attracted to that)

Overall, she is Shake very grumpy (and semi-violent) girlfriend who you DO NOT want to fuck with!

1. Allan Red

A Allan Adventure was such a FUCKING GODTIER EPISODE

His voice, his speech patterns and his overall cadence and tone of his voice is so unique and funny I love listening to it!

He looks like a hot dog and I find that to be hilarious character design

His dynamic with the other characters is fascinating and entertaining af!

The scene with him and Finn Wolfhard's character in the pilot is one of my most favorite scenes from it!

2. Pim Pimling

He's my favorite out of the duo! (I love Charlie but if I had to pick it's Pim)

HES FUCKING ADORABLE AND SMOL AND I WANNA HUG HIM!!!!!!

THE ACCENT!!!!!! THE WAY HE TALKS!!!!! HIS SINGING!!!!!! HIS "HE-LLO" !!!!!!!!!

He lowkey reminds of my (late) Grandma!

Season One has been Pim's Best Season so Far!

3. Mr. Boss

An Absolute Unhinged Loon Who is Super Entertaining and Hilarious to Watch

Is a Cryptid of Sorts Disguised as a Human and I'm Not Gonna Think Otherwise

AGAIN HIS VOICE, THE WAY HE TALKS IS PEAK COMEDY !!!!!!!!!!

Also Love How Dark and Insidious This Fucker Gets

But it's Always Oddly Sweet that He Sees His Employees as "His Boy" aka He Sees Himself as Their Father (cuz he's Weird Like That)!

4. DJ Spit

HIS ACCENT AND CHICANO DIALECT ARE LITERALLY SO GODTIER (I learned about Chicano from DJ Spit and now HC Pyro to have a Chicano Dialect when unmasked)

HONESTLY LOVED HIM IN A ALLAN ADVENTURE HOLY SHIT !!!!!!!!!

He was the Best Part of the Frowning Friends Episode

This Guy is Pure 2020s Era SoundCloud Rap and I really like that touch

I also just really like his design for whatever reason

5. Gwimbly

I FUCKING LOVE THIS LIL FREAKAZOID'S DESIGN SO MUCH!!!!!!! DUNNO WHAT THE HELL HE IS BUT HES PERFECT!!!!!!!!

His animation style and the PS2-Esque Visuals He Has are Simply Godtier

His dialogue and catchphrase are FUCKING ICONIC !!!!!!!! OOH OOH OOH !!!!!!!!

Honestly I Felt so Bad for Him since his Situation is Pretty Much Just Valve and Nintendo Combined!

I Swear that the Wife of the Villain of the Game Used to Be Gwimbly's Girlfriend and THATS Why She Freaked Out the Way She Did....

I actually REALLY love this show since it feels like it incorporates all my humor that comes from the Internet (esp the Newgrounds influence and all the references they manage it fit into the show)

And I LOVE scanning the background for anything hilarious that could be happening at that moment since the show has such an UNGODLY amount of detail!

Honestly I wish I could find more opportunities to talk about this show since it's actually a show that feels like it was made for weirdo people such as myself who know a little too much about Internet Pop Culture!

My Adventures With Superman is honestly a really impressively good example of how you can make an adaptation radically different and new while still doing justice to the source material by just approaching said source from a place of love and respect. The show is unabashedly and upfrontly meant to be a very explorative and experimental take on Superman that does the classic premise in new ways, revamped for another time and medium.

So many of the characters, designs, aesthetics, and world feel so extremely unfamiliar and unlike “traditional” Superman. But it still FEELS like Superman. The core, the spirit, the SOUL is absolutely and unmistakably there. The characters are all incredibly in-character and instantly recognizable. The plotting and writing feels straight off the page of the comic.

Even with major reinventions, this is so obviously and clearly Superman. Not some hoary “deconstruction” or obnoxiously self-aware “parody”, it’s just unabashedly honest-to-God played absolutely straight Superman. Even through all the changes, it’s that same classic, undistilled, nostalgic vibe of a Superman comic with Clark as a lovable, goofy guy with powers trying to be an example to the world, fighting crazy bad guys, helping old ladies across the street, and winking to the reader after Lois and Jimmy fail to see through his disguise yet again before cringing because Perry yelled at him for calling Perry “chief” again.

Hot, overeager tomboy Lois Lane is a bit different from usual but she’s so clearly still that same gorgeous would-be star reporter that every Superman falls in love with. Jimmy has been reimagines as kooky conspiracy buff, but he’s still ultimately Superman’s Pal who gets into wacky situations by virtue of being Superman’s Pal. Perry, Lombard, Ronnie, and Cat are all very different from the comics superficially — hell, Ronnie has had his gender flipped — but they are all still instantly recognizable as the same eccentric bunch of newsfolk they were there. Livewire and the Intergang members are all totally changed but at their center, they’re the same; same powers and gimmicks, etc.. Dr. Ivo is now a douchey techbro and yet he’s still fulfilling the very same role he does in the comics as a self-centered mad scientist who creates things that spiral beyond his control. Even Parasite, the most radically altered of all to the point of no longer being sentient, is still identifiable as his core concept of a monster that feeds on the lifeforce of others and becomes more powerful as he does, while also weakening when he can’t do so.

I really, really like it. It’s a wonderfully imaginative and well-put-together take on a very old series that really brings the concept into the modern age in a way that hasn’t really been done successfully outside the comics since the DCAU back in the 90s and early 2000s. People writing Superman or just superhero fiction in general should absolutely take notes from this show.
