Unicorn and Superman are kids shows...

...but that’s not a bad thing. Not necessarily. I am concerned that they didn’t air on Cartoon Network’s children networking where, you know, they’d be TV-PG at the very most.

I mean, with My Adventures with Superman, you have laser guns instead of bullet guns, quirky humor even amongst more serious scenes, no swearing whatsoever, no blood or anything above a solid TV-Y7 rating. Yet it’s on Adult Swim.

This isn’t to imply that the opposite is bad. I mean, I friggin’ looooooooved Primal, blood, guts and all. But I feel like if Adult Swim was the target network, there would’ve been more of that in Unicorn and Superman.

There’s a sort of... obligation for adult media to be cynical or deal with heavy topics either in a meaningful way or a tasteless “The world’s a bitch and so am I” depiction. Yet this is a fun superhero cartoon and fantasy show that seems to strike a balance to qualify for Adult Swim.

Holy crap I just watched Unicorn Wars in Spanish and it was actually fantastic. Very fucked up at points but man, what an emotional roller coaster. I love when something that looks so cutesy and innocent in art style and concept flips the script. It’s animation style is unique as well. Glad I watched it!

You know the really sad thing? A Velma/Daphne romance could have worked if a) These versions of the characters were actually likable and decent human beings, and b) They had atleast a season to develop and build up their relationship.

God I hate this fucking show.

I just wish I could turn on an adult animated show thats like deep and mindless drivel with just butches and queers in the style of Bojack, superjail, or Tuca n Bertie. I want it to be for adults but also the characters are at least in their 20s. Hell imagine a very butch king of the hill. Maybe it's on adult swim or something else and i can just turn it on and zone out after work. Instead I'm just writing this and listening to my fan. I don't want to have to create this type of stuff or connect a bunch of artists and writers and producers. I will if this want turns into a need but I just want to be able to put on something to watch and see queer and gay tv thats not just palatable and gay men centered. Sigh I guess I'll put on lost girl again but I've watched it so much and sometimes its too loades to just soak in until I have to get things ready. I get "someone's gotta be the first to make it big" but why can't these things just be now with all this "we're diverse and accepting" mumbo jumbo.

I haven’t seen many people talk about the boom there has been in adult animated series the last three or so years. It’s not only that we are getting good shows, it’s that now there is more variety too! If you want to watch a slice of life comedy show, you can watch something like Close Enough, Tuca and Bertie and Smiling Friends If you prefer an action story driven show, you have series like Primal, Arcane, Final Space and Legend of Vox Machina. Adult animation has been aiming to be more than just gore and sex jokes and having something to say. There is continuity and actual development you can get invested on. Hell, some of best animated content from this year has been adult animated shows. A few of these series are still returning this year. It doesn’t seem that this new wave won’t stop for more years. Which great, please, continue with whatever you are doing.

Really excited for new hazbin, looks like it could be great! I know lots of people have their own opinions on the new vas and designs and stuff, but like, remember to give it a chance yknow? Like I know it’s not like the pilot, but it was never gonna be like the pilot cause it was well, a pilot.It’s good that it’s different and I personally like the new style, and as for the new vas we haven’t heard enough of any of them in character besides Charlie to compare them, but from the cast list they look really promising, so regardless of wether or not everyone’s happy with the changes I think it’s gonna be good :))))
