I'm not so used to requesting so I hope I'm doing this right lol, but can I request for a modern au!senku x reader fic where the reader is very open about her crush towards senku but he acts indifferent to it (hes not), until he needs her to do a risky experiment and promises to give her a prize he knows she wants, and rewards her with a kiss that gets a little bit more intense than intended

This took me so long to write lmao. I flip-flopped on how to go about this. Mostly the experiment Reader would help with and how far the kiss would go. I ended up not going too far, but I hope it’s still a fun read! I like how it came out at least hehe. I’ve been liking my writing recently, very happy about that. “You’re sure this is safe, right?” You asked, though you didn’t sound at all uncomfortable as you watched him stir together mystery liquids in a 500 ml beaker. After all, you didn’t hide how eager you were to just be by the leek-haired scientist, so you weren’t scared to chug whatever that concoction was for some attention. “About 40% sure, yeah.” Senku said with a casualty that almost made you giggle when contrasted against the fluffy pink headband with bear ears that he’d more than likely gotten from Yuzuriha’s makeup vanity to hold back the chunks of his hair that didn’t defy gravity. But, he held the beaker out to you at that point, and the time for giggles had passed. “And...I’ll be repaid for this, right?” You asked as you took the glass from him, those gorgeous ruby eyes as cold and uninterested as ever. Only locked onto you for the sake of watching you sip the windex colored drink with nothing but curiosity in them.
It was a very simple exchange, or, that was what Senku had assured you, at least. You drink a creation of his, report back to him every hour about any symptoms or ill feelings, and if you lasted the day, he’d reward you. Simple. A smarter person would have asked a few questions at least. A voice in your head pointed out once you’d sat down in one of the creaky woven chairs that Kaseki had taught the leek how to make. “What did it taste like?” Senku asked, his eyes still on you as you got comfortable. “Like orange-flavored cream soda.” You hummed with a smile that dripped with charm. Even as that voice continued in your head, Actually, scratch that. A smarter person probably wouldn’t have kept this crush for so long in the first place. Let alone agree to this just for some attention.
Yet, there you were. Sat off to the side of the formaldehyde-and-alcohol-scented lab. Dutiful in the way that you reported every twitch in your eyes or ache in your back every hour. And, outside of the occasional question to check your cognitive abilities, you might as well have been a catch-all side table. Though, that wasn’t a bad thing to be, because you were a side table who got to watch the way Senku seemed to glare at his work when he was focused, or the small twitches of his mouth when he made progress on one of his many varied projects. It was adorable.
Eventually, though, the scientist returned his attention to you. “You still feeling okay?” He asked, and when you nodded he got a soft smile as he stood up to come over to your wicker chair with a pen light in hand and a stethoscope. “Any heart issues? Burning? Heat in general?” He asked while he shone the light into your eyes to watch how your eyes reacted, then moved onto your heart when you shook your head with a simple ‘no.’ And, after a moment, he seemed satisfied with what he found.
With that, he straightened and let his hands rest on his hips as those gorgeous eyes studied you a moment further before he spoke again. “I suppose you’d like your payment, then?” That smile that had haunted him now clearly on his face as you raised an eyebrow and swallowed the anxiety that bubbled into your throat. “I mean...yeah? But why do I feel like I’m going to be scammed?” Yet, the scientist only rolled his eyes at that question and leaned down to rest his weight on the arms of the chair you sat in. His face close enough for you to wish the chair’s back had given out. That way, you could’ve put more distance between you and him before your cheeks began to burn. “Just close your eyes. Or else I’ll change my mind.” Well that’s ominous as fuck. You thought, but you bit the comment back and simply did as you were told before he kept true to his word.
On the bright side, at least, you weren’t left to wait more than a few heartbeats before Senku’s lips were on yours. Jarringly harsh, it was clear he hadn’t kissed people before. It was sloppy, and it took a moment for him to ease up, but once you registered what he had done, you eagerly kissed back. And, before you knew it, your arms were around his shoulders and the kiss had been deepened to a full on make-out.
Though, it only lasted a moment before Senku pulled away and straightened back up. His pale face almost as red as the eyes that refused to meet yours as he wiped his mouth and shoved out, “There. Now be gone. You’ve taken up enough of my time.” “You’re the one who asked me to be here, that’s not my fault.” You countered, but he just tugged you out of the chair and herded you out of the lab and into the early darkness of night. Your only company the flutter that lingered in your chest and the heat on your cheeks. Which, brought a smile to your face as you just about skipped home.

Okay so I’m currently in Love and Deepspace hell and now it’s everyone’s problem. I may not entirely ever understand what’s going on, but that’s okay I’m still going to give my two cents on what Caleb may bring to the table. Please correct me if I’m wrong😭
LOVE AND DEEPSPACE MAINSTORY SPOILERS AHEAD!
1. Ties to EVER
Hear me out here. I know this is a common speculation but I want to delve into it and lay out the facts where I can see them. We kind of know what EVER’s goal is, we also— according to the notes we collect— know where their investments lie. They play a dominant role in biotechnological developments, aerospace, Evol energy, and international trade. We also know that Caleb works as a fighter pilot for the Deepspace Aviation Administration. He attended the Aerospace Academy in Skyhaven: an artificial floating island above Linkon. From what I gather, Skyhaven is powered by a protocore— and EVER is known for their involvement and use of protocores in modification/advancement. With what is made known to us it’s safe to conclude that Caleb is an affiliate. It’s hard to say whether or not he knows about the aether core, assuming he does though, he knows that upon the experiments— MC is basically immortal. She would be an asset to their research, and goal of extending lives. I wonder if Caleb feeds them this information, but at the same time— I’m just… not fully sure, seeing his particular niche and all. It does feel like they have their eyes on mc, though… I don’t entirely remember, but in awaited revelry, doesn’t Sylus imply that Josephine and Caleb have malicious intentions…? That being said—
2. Caleb’s return..?
I have a speculation that, like many cases we see (albeit some failed ones), he’ll be resuscitated via protocore; EVER can’t lose a valuable asset, after all. It fits thematically, and can further establish Caleb’s character as a character foil to Zayne (who despite his regrets, feels that death is a necessary part of the human existence.) An apple a day keeps the doctor away and all! This is the first ML we know that actively has interacted with another, and I genuinely can’t wait for what this means for Zayne’s story, even if EVER isn’t behind Caleb’s heavily implied return. He’s still facing what should be a dead man, and ugh. I KNOW his emotions are going to pile up. Staring directly at the Mt. Eternal anecdote. This could be a stretch, but— Carter, Xander Sciences trying to rope Zayne into their projects over and over— MC is the perfect bait, and bringing Caleb back may establish MC’s direct involvement and have Zayne be enticed by proxy. Caleb does play the role of the forbidden (potentially), and this could be how that motif comes into play.
3. Snake Motif…
Okay so I have yet to do my research on this entirely, but like— I just think it’s so interesting that they released Sylus during the year of the Dragon, and then potentially Caleb, during the year of the Snake. That aside, though— the clear biblical connection between the snake and the apple and potentially being that lure— what snakes generally symbolize (mystery, deceit…), and I saw this floating around somewhere, but apparently in CN he calls the MC ‘little tail’? I’m so interested in what this could mean symbolically with all his apparent affiliations, buuut that’s for us to see.
I’m looking forward to that livestream and tbh idk if anything here made sense but I’m so normal about this game (even if I likeee barely understand it.) What are you going to do Caleb. What’s happening. I know this is different from what I usually post here but I NEEDED to yap or else I might go insane idk

The thing about all of the Western Marxist philosophy of the last century explaining how capitalist ideology traps the minds of imperial core citizens, whilst distancing itself from actual revolutionary politics, is that even at its most intelligent and insightful it is a near fundamentally useless project.
For example, I consider Fisher’s Capitalist Realism to be the most advanced and succinct book from this tradition. When I read it, I found it deeply vindicating in how it spoke to the sense of deadlock I felt looking at a world where change seemed both necessary and impossible. The desire for communist revolution burns in every page, and yet the book’s main thrust is only to explain why change hasn’t happened yet. And whilst I disagree with the interpretation that it is a sort of pessimist’s manifesto, it’s easy to see how people got there. (To paraphrase a disgraced video essayist; “we should imagine every sentence as ending with ‘and therefore we should revolt and build communism.’”) To indulge in some of the crass psychologizing characteristic of the genre, the book expresses a longing for Bolshevism from someone who won’t let themselves consider that Lenin may have been right.
After a year or so of grappling with the questions Fisher posed, I came to realize that the only practical lesson to be taken from the whole book was effectively join an ML party/org. A lesson which I just expressed in substantially fewer words! These books can be genuinely interesting if such questions of ideology appeal to you—and I would still especially recommend them to other imperial core citizens trying to understand the kind of brain damage our cultures have given us—but if you are at the point of wanting to be a revolutionary, there is simply no substitute for studying theorists who have actually engaged in revolutions.
