Ælla-60, 2025. A restomod supercar created by Caterham’s head designer, Anthony Jannarelly, through his Art Machines venture. The project uses an aluminium chassis and a mid-mounted 3.6-litre naturally aspirated V8 sourced from a Ferrari 360 Modena (not confirmed by Art Machines) producing 473hp. In a deal with restomod specialists Podium Advanced Technologies of Italy, once Art Machines has five orders the project can advance with production limited to 55 units costing €865,000 each.

wow!!! that’s a lotta responsibility! but I mean, what’s one more baby, hm? (im looking at YOU, Torbek & Gricko)
what do you know about raising lizardfolk young? wonder how different it is from….uh, genasi?
No more than the average lizardfolk, I have to assume. It's not like I flip through childcare books as a hobby in my spare time...
I know the biggest difference is that baby lizardfolk can eat food pretty much immediately after hatchin'. It doesn't take very long at all for our teeth to grow in, an' our mothers don't produce milk, so we sorta just immediately skip to baby food. A lot of lizardfolk prefer feedin' their children specifically bugmix--a nutritious concoction of mostly bugs that has a good texture to it, helps sharpen our teeth an' get us adjusted to tougher materials. I could probably make some myself to be honest, but... we don't know what the baby eats yet.
If I had to guess, Gid probably knows next to jack shit about raisin' genasi children. He was raised by humans, after all. I don't know much about human kids myself, but I do know they need their mothers' milk for a good while after birth... Good baron, where are we gonna find formula all the way out here...?
#Do you think fey formula is too different from mortal formula to work? Do you think she NEEDS fey formula specifically??#Shit! We still don't know if she even needs it! Where's Gricko when you need him...#// i like to assume avantris is a weird middleground of advanced medicine with rudimentary technology#// baby formula and movies and washing machines exist but cars won't be invented for another 40 years. sorry gideon no pickup truck for you#wallyanon

Why Have Vehicle Headlights Gotten So Bright in Recent Years?
The increasing brightness of vehicle headlights is driven by advancements in lighting technology, evolving safety standards, and shifts in automotive design trends. Here’s a detailed breakdown of the key factors:
1. Technological Advancements in Lighting • Shift to LED and Laser Systems:
Modern vehicles increasingly use LED (Light Emitting Diode) and laser headlights, which produce significantly brighter and whiter light compared to traditional halogen or HID (High-Intensity Discharge) bulbs. LEDs are up to three times brighter than halogens while consuming less energy . Laser technology, though less common, offers even greater intensity and precision, illuminating farther distances with minimal power usage . • Example: LED headlights emit "blue light," which the human eye perceives as harsher than the "yellow light" of halogens, contributing to the perception of increased brightness .
• Adaptive and Smart Features:
Innovations like Adaptive Driving Beams (ADB) and matrix LED systems adjust beam patterns dynamically based on road conditions, vehicle speed, and surrounding traffic. These systems maximize illumination without blinding other drivers, allowing automakers to safely increase brightness .
2. Safety Regulations and Ratings • Stringent Safety Standards:
Organizations like the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) now rate vehicles based on headlight performance, pushing manufacturers to improve illumination. For example, a "good" IIHS rating requires headlights to illuminate at least 325 feet ahead—a standard that incentivizes brighter systems . • Compliance with these standards often requires advanced technologies like HID or LED lights, which outperform older halogen systems .
• Global Regulatory Pressure:
Regulations in regions like the EU and U.S. mandate better nighttime visibility to reduce accidents. This has accelerated the adoption of high-performance lighting systems .
3. Vehicle Design Trends • Rise of SUVs and Taller Vehicles:
The growing popularity of SUVs and trucks—which sit higher off the ground—means headlights are mounted at elevated positions. This increases the likelihood of glare for drivers of lower vehicles, even if the brightness itself hasn’t changed . • SUVs now account for nearly 46% of global vehicle sales, amplifying this issue .
• Aesthetic and Functional Integration:
LEDs and lasers allow sleeker, more customizable designs (e.g., slim light strips or intricate patterns), which automakers use to enhance brand identity. Brighter lights are often marketed as a premium safety feature .
4. Human Factors and Perception • Aging Drivers and Eye Sensitivity:
Older drivers, who represent a growing demographic, are more susceptible to glare due to age-related eye conditions like cataracts. While brighter lights improve visibility for the driver, they can disproportionately affect oncoming traffic .
• Misalignment and Poor Maintenance:
Even advanced headlights can cause glare if improperly aligned. Studies show that many vehicles fail roadworthiness tests due to incorrectly aimed beams, exacerbating brightness issues .
5. Environmental and Efficiency Demands • Energy Efficiency:
LEDs and lasers consume less power than halogens, reducing strain on vehicle electrical systems and improving fuel efficiency—a critical factor as automakers prioritize sustainability .
Key Takeaways • Brightness vs. Safety Trade-off: While brighter headlights enhance driver visibility, they risk blinding others. Solutions like adaptive beams and stricter alignment regulations aim to balance these concerns .
• Future Trends: Emerging technologies like Digital Light Systems (e.g., Mercedes' DIGITAL LIGHT) project dynamic patterns onto roads, further optimizing illumination without excess glare .
For drivers struggling with glare, tips include using anti-reflective coatings on mirrors, cleaning windshields regularly, and opting for night-driving glasses .

I am not actually interested in either of them, but I don't understand the interest or point of NASCAR.
I understand the interest and point of Formula 1. Like... I am not interested it in myself but I fully understand why people are super into it.
I don't get why people would be into NASCAR.
#text post#Granted this is probably because all I know about NASCAR is cars drive in circle very fast#Whereas F1 I have at least better rudimentary knowledge of like... what it is#Each car has to be designed and engineered from scratch by its team under a certain budget limit#and whatever technological advances made within F1 are shared with NASA and other space programs#As well as aiding in car design on a consumer level#(hence the big debate regarding alternative fuel in F1 racing)#But NASCAR?#I don't get it#Cars drive in big circle...#??? and????

literally just trying to find out if theres a fucking hurricane coming my way and clicking any news article on my phone is a jumbled mess of ads and beating around the bush like holy shit dude just show me the fucking graphic of the storm path i saw in the thumbnail. im going to lose my mind
#this is the real shit that has me frustrated with technology. like we're so advanced and yet this is the bullshit we deal with#we put a man on the moon but we cant put hurricane coverage not behind a paywall#side note like its so rare for people to just sit down and watch the news now#unless they were already so inclined#if i can get a bajillion ads in front of me for some fucking car or sports drink or whatever#can they start running ads like 'hey dipshit theres a hurricane coming'#admittedly this one isnt rly coming my way as much as beryl did#but is2g the past decade has just been someone randomly happening to mention to me a hurricane is coming and thats how i find out

Is Tesla Full Self Driving safe?
Tesla’s Full Self Driving has improved significantly over the years, but it's not without its limitations. While many users report smoother commutes and fewer errors, there have also been notable incidents involving misuse or system misjudgments.
Tesla urges users to remain attentive, as FSD is not a substitute for human judgment. With continued development, safety metrics are likely to improve, but regulatory oversight and public scrutiny remain key factors in shaping its future perception.
