New The Sims 4 Survey Asks Players About Future Expansion Packs
There is a new official The Sims 4 survey asking players about potential expansion pack ideas they could develop in the future, based on nine different concepts.
This is not the first time EA asks players for feedback on ideas for upcoming packs. Titles like Snowy Escape were heavily hinted in official surveys years before their release.
With that said, it is uncertain if any of these nine expansion pack ideas will see the light of day, or how much they will change upon development. You can read a brief description of each of the nine concepts below.
Make sure you take the survey and let the team know what you want to see in The Sims 4.
“Traverse an uncharted, otherwordly extreme environment where civilization has collapsed and nature has reclaimed the remnants of a once-great city, your Sim must adapt to survive and work together to thrive.”
“Journey with your Sims through an adventurous exploration of coastal landscapes to discover prehistoric and marine fossils and other natural wonders, showcase your unique discoveries to inspire conservation and adventure skills.”
“Experience a modern monarchy, where you’ll build your legacy through grand estates, political intrigue, and luxurious fashion. Rise from commoner to ruler, forge alliances, and navigate royal rivalries in a culturally rich, high-stakes drama of power, influence, and exclusive living.”
“Shape your Sims’ fate in a gritty city. Will they become notorious criminals, vigilante for justice, or play both sides? Navigate from small-time pickpocketing to high-stakes heists, and decide your path in a world full of shady deals and intense stakeouts.”
“Transport your Sims to a neon-lit cyberpunk future where you can enhance their human or robot lives with cutting-edge tech, explore gritty careers, and navigate complex relationships between Sims & robots, in a whimsical dystopian world.”
“Create an adventure-filled sleepaway camp where kids discover new hobbies, uncover camp secrets, and forge lifelong friendships, all while exploring beaches, lakes, and rivers under the care of dedicated counselors.”
“Customize your travel van and live on the road. Explore picturesque destinations, trade with the locals, and work on your mechanic skills. Prepare for your retirement and expanded elder adventures.”
“Step into a lively 80s/90s retro world in a bustling mall setting, enjoying classic, throwback activities and unique storylines that reimagine the era with nostalgic charm and unforgettable drama.”
“Dive into a vibrant ocean world and explore hidden treasures, meet marine life, build your seaside dream, and sail between charming coastal towns. Every dive and voyage offers new discoveries.”

Dinosaur Agere Ideas 🦖
Dino Dig Excavation: Set up a sandbox or designated area in your backyard for a dinosaur dig. Hide toy dinosaur bones, fossils, and eggs in the sand, and use small shovels and brushes to excavate discoveries.
Dino Costume Party: Organize a dinosaur-themed costume party where participants dress up as their favorite dinosaurs. Encourage creativity by providing dinosaur masks, tail accessories, and face paint. You can also incorporate dinosaur-themed games, such as pin the tail on the T-Rex or a dino dance-off.
Dino Movie Marathon: Host a movie marathon featuring classic dinosaur films such as Jurassic Park, The Land Before Time, and Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs. Set up a cozy viewing area with blankets, pillows, and popcorn for a fun movie night experience.
Dino Science Experiments: Conduct dinosaur-themed science experiments that are both educational and entertaining. For example, you can make a baking soda and vinegar volcano erupt like a dinosaur, create fossil imprints using clay and plastic dinosaur toys, or simulate a dinosaur's bite force using everyday objects.
Dino Adventure Nature Walk: Take a nature walk in a local park or forest, but with a dinosaur twist. Create a scavenger hunt where you search for specific plants, rocks, and natural features that could have existed during the time of the dinosaurs.
Dinosaur Puzzle Play: Gather a collection of dinosaur puzzles of varying difficulty levels and spend some time piecing them together. Whether it's a simple wooden puzzle for beginners or a challenging jigsaw puzzle for more advanced puzzlers, solving dinosaur puzzles can be both relaxing and rewarding.
Dinosaur Stuffed Animal Tea Party: Host a tea party for your favorite dinosaur stuffed animals. Set up a table with cups, saucers, and pretend tea sets, and invite your plush dinosaur friends to join you for a delightful afternoon tea party. Don't forget to serve dinosaur-shaped cookies or snacks!
Dino Storytime: Curl up with a cozy blanket and a pile of dinosaur-themed storybooks for a dino-rific storytime adventure. Choose books with colorful illustrations and engaging dinosaur tales to spark the imagination and create a magical storytelling experience.
Dino Dress-Up: Put together a dinosaur-themed dress-up box filled with dinosaur costumes, hats, and accessories. Encourage imaginative play by dressing up as your favorite dinosaur character and going on pretend dino adventures around the house or backyard.
Dino Dance Party: Create a dino-themed playlist with catchy songs like "The Dinosaur Stomp" or "Dinosaur Boogie" and have a dance party in your living room. Dress up in your favorite dinosaur costume or pajamas and dance around to the music like a happy little dinosaur.
Dino Snack Time: Prepare some dinosaur-themed snacks like dinosaur-shaped sandwiches, fruit skewers with dinosaur-shaped fruit pieces, or dinosaur-shaped cookies. Enjoy these tasty treats while watching a dinosaur-themed movie or TV show for a fun and delicious snack time experience.
Dino Coloring Book: Provide a dinosaur-themed coloring book filled with cute and friendly dinosaur illustrations for coloring. You can also include dinosaur-themed coloring pages to download and print, allowing for endless coloring fun.

Sniffer Adventure and Pets
Pearl checked her inventory one last time.
“Sword, pickaxe, shovel, brush, golden carrots,” she hummed to herself. “Maybe I should bring a shield. Juuust in case.”
Once she crafted her shield, she beamed to herself and went out the door, the rumbles of the warden head vibrating her feet. She flew off and was ready to explore those warm ocean ruins.
She couldn’t get the two rarest flowers without some sniffers sniffing the seeds for her.
Tango had told her to head South, where most Hermits haven’t touched any warm ocean ruins. Most have gone North and West, where they could also get the mangrove wood and be left alone while grinding resources.
She threw a rocket to the ground, flying off as she held her Post Office cap on her head during the journey. Pearl didn’t want it to fly off and forever be lost. She loved the hat.
The first warm ocean she encountered didn’t have a lot of suspicious sand. Still, she brushed it, uncovering the mysterious items buried deep in it, like she was discovering fossils.
The first one ended up being a stick, an item very unnecessary for Pearl at the moment.
“What a shame,” she muttered to herself.
She brushed another suspicious sand block, muttering to herself “Sniffer egg, sniffer egg, sniffer egg” like a prayer that would be granted. Instead, she found an emerald.
“Aw man,” Pearl pouted. “I don’t even have a villager hall.”
She was hoping to use other Hermits villager hall this season. She kept the emerald for good measure.
“Maybe if I find gravel instead of sand?” She asked herself.
Right beside her was suspicious gravel, and she grinned.
“You cannot escape Pearl’s brush, you little gravel.”
She brushed it carefully, and saw something red being dug out.
She gasped. “Is this it? Did I finally found one?”
The more she uncovered, the more she realized it was a pottery shard. She let out a frustrated groan.
“I feel like I’m gonna find a lot of these pottery shards.”
And how she wished she was wrong. After visiting one-too many ocean ruins (it was more like two, but flying around to find them was worst than finding the mangrove forest), Pearl was almost ready to give up on this region of the world. She looked at the last suspicious sand and glanced back at her brush.
“One last try. C’mon Pearlie, just one last time. This time, it’ll be a sniffer egg. I can feel it in my bones.”
Despite her pep talk, she did not feel confident about the loot in the suspicious sand. Every centimetres she uncovered, her breath stuck in her throat, as if she’d be disappointed by what the sand would unravel.
She saw red, and inhaled loudly in the bubble column she used for breathing — a fatal flaw in her preparations was to bring water breathing potions. She closed one eye, as if the disappointment would be less grand if she didn’t fully witness it.
It could be another pottery shard, or it could be a smithing template. Pearl played on loop the mantra “sniffer egg, sniffer egg, sniffer egg” in her head, brushing like every mistake would cost her her life.
God she hoped it was a sniffer egg.
Suddenly, she saw green spots on the object, and she let out a squeal of joy. She brushed the rest of the sand away and admired the wonderful egg in the palms of her hands.
“What a beauty,” she whispered.
She slowly caressed it with her index finger, cooing at it.
“You’re gonna look amazing, and you’re gonna dig out sooo many flowers for me, and you’re gonna help me make money. Oh, it’s gonna be wonderful!”
The egg did not reply, but Pearl didn’t need a response. She gently tucked it in her inventory, swimming up to the surface until a huge realization struck her.
She needed two eggs to have more than one sniffer.
She groaned. “Damn you breeding mechanics.”
And thus, the search for a second sniffer egg began, much quicker than the first one. She didn’t listen to Tango’s advice and immediately went West, where there was a warm ocean biome that would surely have an ancient ruin in it.
When she spotted one, she flew immediately down, and gasped in excitement when she saw suspicious gravel and sand.
Her luck would definitely turn around this time.
“C’mon, c’mon, c’mon,” she whispered to herself as she brushed a suspicious gravel.
It gave her a pottery shard.
She inhaled sharply. “It’s fine, that’s okay, I can — there’s more! Just — brush these, it’s gonna be okay, you’ll find a sniffer egg. Yeah,” she nodded to herself, “the next one’ll be it.”
She had guessed correctly. She rolled on the ball of her feet in joy and took the sniffer egg in her hand, gently petting it.
“You’re gonna be amazing in my farm,” she whispered to it encouragingly.
It didn’t respond. Pearl didn’t really care, she swimmed to the surface and flew to her base as fast as she could.
She wanted to see those sniffers hatch, after all.
Pearl almost face-planted to her roof with how fast she was going. She threw open the door to the sniffer room, a nice bamboo and sand colour with green grass surrounding it. She took out the first egg from her inventory, and carefully placed it on the ground, making sure it wouldn’t fall and break once Pearl let go of it.
It was standing proud in her base, a nice splash of colour in a room that blended into itself. She hummed in satisfaction and placed her fists on her hips.
“Yeah, that'll do,” she smiled. “Now, time for little guy number two!”
She bit her lower lip as the egg touched the ground, hands so gentle with it, as if it was a block she needed to put at the perfect spot for it to fit with the rest of her build. She couldn’t afford to break it, those eggs were so hard to find, and she needed those flowers so badly.
She made sure the egg was balanced on its own before taking her hands off of it. She beamed when the two eggs stood proudly on their own in the green house.
“You guys will be adorable, I can already tell. Now,” she went towards her door, “I’ll go fix some redstone while you two hatch. Be good.”
She looked at them sternly when she said it and left the room to go downstairs, where her redstone was. The Hermit hummed as she thought. Etho suggested she put a player’s head on the noteblock to not hear the farm or the allays activating it.
She slammed her fist against the palm of her hand.
“Time to search for a player's head,” she declared.
As she went to do that, the sniffers in the egg slowly squirmed in place, getting warmed up to hatch. The cracks were already there when she came up to the farm, where her sniffers would dig out the flowers for her shop.
“You guys are already hatching!” She exclaimed, a wide smile on her face. “Wait up, I wanna see you out of your shell, don’t you dare do anything.”
She changed the head she already had on the noteblock only for a small snort to echo in the room. Pearl swivelled around and cooed at the sight.
“You guys are so cute,” there was only one sniffer hatched, cleaning itself from the juices of the egg.
The second one hatched right under Pearl’s eyes, and she gasped in surprise.
“Down right adorable,” she cooed again, and slowly approached the sniffer who had finished cleaning itself. “Hey there little guy,” she greeted, and scratched the top of its head.
It snorted and shook its head like it had water splashed on it. Pearl chuckled and scratched underneath its chin. Immediately, it fell on its stomach, eyes closed and let the Hermit pet it.
“Oh, you’re so adorable. You like Pearl’s scratches? Yes you do, oh you big guy.”
The second bumped its head against Pearl’s shoulder, making doe eyes at her, pleading for something. She laughed and scratched right between its ears.
“Aw, you felt left out?”
The sniffer fell right beside her, caging her between the two of them. She laughed and continued her pets, appreciating this last moment she’ll probably ever spend with her sniffers.
“You guys are so big for babies. Can’t wait for the money you’re gonna make for me.”
The sniffers simply snorted and let themselves be petted by the Hermit. This sniffer farm will be better than her last one, Pearl just knew it.

Both the creator and the character are minors, so I ask not to ask strange things (mainly nsfw), my main account is @taethesun
This is a roleplay account that seeks to interact with more people (oc's, AU, original blocktales characters, etc)
Basic DNI; pedophiles, zoophiles, nsfw blogs

/ᐠ. 。.ᐟ\ Sun General Loreˎˊ˗
He was born on October 12 in the low neighborhoods of Bizville as the day was starting. His mother named him Soleil, believing the child would bring them good luck.
After Soleil's birth, everything went downhill. His father started gambling a lot of money, causing them to nearly go bankrupt, leading to constant fights between him and Soleil's mother.
Soleil became the main topic of argument and, being blamed all the time in his home, he began to slowly disconnect from everything. He started a small hobby, liking to watch the sun and stars, studying them with the big dream of becoming a famous and respected astrologer worldwide.
After an intense argument between his parents, he decided to leave for his favorite hideout, a small clearing covered by trees where he could enjoy the sunset.
He pondered his problems while the sun was his only company. He spoke to it, and in that moment, a small ball of light appeared in his hands.
"I adopt you as mine," a calm voice said, and in the blink of an eye, Soleil had changed. His clothes and body transformed, and now he wore a suit like a prince with a small cloud tail that he could transform at will.
Just as the stars began to appear in the night sky, some of them started falling like shooting stars toward where he was.
He closed his eyes in fear, but upon feeling a small weight on his head, he opened them to see the stars moving over his head like a small crown with a moon brooch.
From then on, everything changed. The sun and stars adopted him as their protector and representative.
Innocent, pure, childlike, dreamy, the stars playfully said of the little one
His name changed. He was now called "Sun," the bearer of the sun, or also "Little Sun"
💫. ⋮ Friend and Cory .ᐟ ֹ ₊ ꒱ (oc's and AU of @niko-aspin)
After running away from home, he decided to explore the main area of Bizville. While looking for a place to sit and eat, he met a strange person with a purple hat looking somewhat sad, and next to him, someone with a black cap drinking water.
He approached and offered some sushi to cheer up the person with the purple hat. After introducing himself, a small friendship began between the three, which grew to the point of becoming platonic siblings.
From that moment, Sun stuck to them like glue. Wherever Cory and Friend went, he followed, and vice versa
☀️. ⋮ Lovetales .ᐟ ֹ ₊ ꒱
Sun is naturally curious. He loved to explore, and while reading in the library, he discovered the frozen kingdom of Blackrock
He went to Friend to tell him about his adventure to the kingdom and to prepare. He said goodbye to his brothers and began his journey
After "defeating" Soft King he meets Player on the outskirts of the kingdom with the goal of helping you rescue Builderman.

: Data : ⃛ヾ(๑❛ ▿ ◠๑ )
His main weapon is a sword given by the stars, although he doesn’t use it much since he hates fighting and prefers to help by healing wounds He’s good at making desserts, but he gets easily distracted, so sometimes they turn out badly. Once, he almost set the kitchen on fire because he forgot the cookies in the oven… He has ADHD and is not a fan of loud noises or talking much, he prefers to be non-verbal with people he does not feel comfortable with, does not know or distrusts He loves sleeping, he often uses his tail to rest on or as a blanket and as he’s blessed by the sun, he has a warmer body temperature, making him resistant to both low and high temperatures, however, he’s very prone to getting sick His favorite color is blue, and he loves whales! After astrology and astronomy, he’s interested in marine biology, likes to make terrariums, look for gems and fossils, and knows how to play the harp and violin, he love going to picnics with his brothers

Solistal; Land of Knowledge and Hunters
northern mountain border of the continent, primarily dwarf citizens
Character SHORT List:
Alexa Snowlight
Amber Gemwater
Blackfingers
David Woodkeep
Holly Nightfoot
Kyvon Snowfeather
Raiden Snowlight
Vril Snowfeather
Zabrac Blooddust

Achraf Nekker on unsplash.
Geography:
Solistal is based on the UK islands physical geography*. It is very much the coldest nation, having snow almost all year round except for the 3 months often jokingly referred to as their 'summers'. Despite this, storms are infrequent and the weather is generally clear or slightly cloudy. Storms are constantly being prepared for, both snowstorms and magical storms, as the ones that do appear and particularly harsh in Solistal. Besides those, earthquakes have been recorded in the nation too.
*but only when I feel like it lol
Architecture:
Most of Solistal's territory is the northern mountain range that stretches from the east to west coasts. Adventurers struggle to survive in the winter on the other side of the mountains. Maybe, these harsh conditions are why there's an impossible amount of fossils found here compared to the other nations. These mountains are also the only place in Klenith that natural clusters of 'seals' can be mined for the magical properties. The seals are said to be the result of a magical blast that sent many forms of mega-fauna to go extinct, connecting to the fossils found here. Another piece of this theory is the 'everburning flame' kept watch near the capital city, Domongrad. Nobody has a reason for why it continues to burn despite the snow and ice surrounding it, but many suggest magic, specifically the magical blast that took out mega fauna. As there is no concrete way to find out, it is still being discussed by scholars and many myths have stemmed from these theories. From the outside, the planning of Solistal towns appear to be random, but is entirely dependent on what each towns considers necessary. If built on flatter ground and the need for stronger buildings is higher, that town puts it's most traveled buildings on the outside. Whereas, a different town will be secure in their mountain-side so will focus on their magic and research, therefore their magical stores and casters' homes would be placed further into the mountain walls. What's needed is most central, and what's not is pushed out. Many towns and cities are built into the side of the mountains, pushing their necessary buildings into the caves to be the most defensible. The styles, including materials used, follow Russian architecture. Although... squashed, because dwarves don't need as much room.
Trade/Commerce:
Solistal primarily exports the ore/minerals that are found in the mountains, the magical seals only found here, and have large stores of meat due to mega fauna hunting. They could be self-sufficient, however it would lower the citizens general happiness and lifestyles. As they have such large holdings over the ores and seals, trading is a constant request from the other nations. Whilst the continent wide trade is currency based, within the Solistal borders it is often information based. Even when currency is required, the price will often be lowered for a good book or two. Their largest import is dyes from Birkina, requiring ink for the libraries, and their lowest being finer/thinner cloths.

one of the smaller leaked details from the teraleak about plza got me thinking about what i'd like to see in terms of shiny hunting mechanics, and i ended up going down a rabbit hole and ranking the games by how much i enjoy shiny hunting in them (roughly ordered within tiers):
reasonings beneath the break, i've got a LOT of thoughts to infodump:
SM/USUM: sos chaining is my absolute favorite shiny hunting method. there's a really fun element of preparation to it that i think most other methods lack - researching your target pokemon, looking for any recoil or status move that may be an issue, figuring out how to plan around it, etc. it's a fun planning game that can easily make individual hunts much more memorable than simply “wow this one was so quick/long” when you see your plans come to fruition. usum improved it even further with some small mechanical tweaks, plus an expanded dex to hunt through. also in usum is the ultra warp ride. the wormhole shinies are honestly so easy that their allure wears off super quick, but the actual minigame attached to them is pretty fun. that said, the real star of the uwr are the legendaries and ultra beasts, all available through soft resetting. i love soft resetting for mostly the same reasons as sos chaining: you've got one chance to catch this legendary, so you better go in with a solid game plan and make it count once you finally see those sparkles. or if you want a different sort of challenge, you can always go for one of the gift pokemon instead: poipole, type:null, and ash cap pikachu. no battle required, but no shiny charm, either, with the added clout value that their shinies haven’t been available since. alola was my gateway to shiny hunting, but even trying to account for nostalgia, i still think it has some of the most engaging hunts to this day.
XY: i feel like kalos is really overlooked nowadays when it comes to shiny hunting, but it’s one of my absolute favorites. friend safari is always one of the first things that comes to mind whenever i think about shiny hunting. it’s a really cool community-driven shiny hunting experience. i spent so much time just exchanging friend codes to find the shines i needed, and i was always able to find a thriving friend safari community all the way up through swsh’s lifespan until i finally caught every possible shiny i could from it (i wonder how they’re doing now that the 3ds servers are shut down?). this is also the best region for fossil resets - most of the fossil are readily available in large quantities, so you can stock up as much as you'd like and revive them all at once to see if any surprises pop out at you. between friend safari, fossil resets, and horde hunting, xy has a lot of good mindless shiny hunts. a lot of the time, shiny hunting is just something for me to do with my hands while i’m bored, and xy excels at that. oh yeah, there’s also pokeradar in this one, too. i could never quite figure out how to work it.
SWSH: swsh gets massive bonus points for being the only game where masuda hunting is actually fun tbh. the fact that zl can be used as a replacement for the a button means that you can just gather up eggs one-handed at the route 5 nursery, then you can use the 3d camera in the wild area to easily spin in circles to hatch them without even needing to return to a pc box every five minutes like before. as for the rest of the shiny stuff in this game… the intended shiny hunting method is laughably pointless and dynamax adventures, while a neat concept, are only fun if you actually have friends to play it with. otherwise, you’re stuck dealing with either braindead npcs or even more braindead randoms. like i said before, i love planning out big hunts, but in dynamax adventures, so much of it is out of your control that it’s just completely unfun to me (at least we got the regis and swords of justice huntable through run aways. those are some really fun hunts as a consolation prize). honestly, i’m definitely placing these games several spots higher than they probably should be, but sword is possibly my most played game ever due to the sheer amount of masuda breeding i’ve done in it, so that has to count for something.
GSC: okay i know these are a curveball compared to everything else on the list. when these games came to the 3ds virtual console, i did some rby glitching to get a shiny ditto into them and honestly? probably my second favorite game in terms of breeding after swsh. because shininess is determined by ivs in these games, a shiny ditto parent gives every child a flat 1/64 shiny rate, balanced by the fact that the oval charm and flame body don’t exist yet. what you end up with is a situation where you get eggs much more slowly, but with hunt times still comparable to modern-day masuda hunting, and i personally found something about this arrangement really satisfying. every egg has so much more build-up to it, and so despite the slower pace, it somehow still felt more consistently exciting than perhaps any other shiny hunting method. crystal has some additional shiny fun with the odd egg if you feel like doing a bit of save manipulation with it (plus obligatory shiny celebi comment).
PLA: i know this is a very niche and odd opinion to have, but pla handles loading pokemon into the overworld better than any other game with overworld pokemon. the format of having distinct separate regions that you can load and unload at will, with pokemon (even those not yet spawned) being preset at the moment of loading and persisting until being forcibly unloaded, is something that i truly hope carries forward into future entries. it creates a world that feels much more natural, and yet is also highly exploitable on a gameplay level. resetting the regions until you find an outbreak, and then traveling to that outbreak to search for shinies, is a compelling gameplay loop that implements very video game-y elements in a way that i particularly enjoy. the differentiation between mass outbreaks and massive mass outbreaks also adds a fun trade-off into the mix: do you target a specific pokemon at lower odds or do you go for a grab bag of random pokemon at higher odds? i do have one big complaint, however, and it’s gonna sound kinda insane. it is nearly impossible to actually fail a shiny in this game. they persist through saves, they don’t respawn when you run, they even give off a distinct jingle when they’re in your vicinity. if there is a shiny near you, you are gonna find it, and you are probably gonna catch it. and personally… i don’t really care for this arrangement. the risk of failure is an integral part of shiny hunting. making it too safe makes the accomplishment feel a bit more hollow to me. i wish there was a way to disable the shiny sound. i feel like if they weren’t so blatantly telegraphed and were still a bit harder to find in the first place, it would balance out the safety nets the game gives you somewhat.
LGPE: i feel like i’ve come to appreciate lgpe a lot more as time has gone on. the catch combo system is a nice simple numbers game - just keep catching the same pokemon and shiny odds go up. simple, elegant, satisfying. the big drawback is the fact that the motion controls are uuuhh. less than ideal. but it’s easy enough to build a combo back up that it doesn’t usually feel like too big of a setback if something goes wrong. also the fact that you can use the in-game trading mechanics to hunt the alola variants is pretty nifty! i should get back in and try one of those hunts sometime.
BDSP: after not being able to get into pokeradar hunting in xy or the original dp, i was pleasantly surprised at how enjoyable i found it in bdsp. it has a really good sense of risk and reward as you try to map out the safest path you can, which makes it super gratifying when your skills and luck are good enough to bring your chain all the way up to 40. honestly, the fact that the shiny charm doesn’t work in this game is a complete nonissue for me, because the pokeradar doesn’t even need it. of course, this game also has the added fun of not shiny locking anything except some tie-in bonuses. you can shiny hunt any legendary from the first four generations, and you can even go for the sinnoh mythicals as well (the event to get their items is over now, but i believe it’s still possible to glitch your way to them anyway).
SV: sparkling sandwiches are probably the shiny hunting mechanic i’m most split on. once again, there’s a really good strategic element to it that i enjoy: trying to figure out where on the map you can locate your target pokemon with as little type overlap in the surrounding area as possible, and then once you’ve begun your hunt, finding the best path to spawn them in as quickly as possible. on the other hand, however, probably my biggest hot take of sv is that the sandwiches bump the shiny rate up way too high. in my first shiny hunting excursion of the game, i found five shinies in the span of two sandwiches, and as a whole, that’s been more the norm than an exception. most shiny hunts in this game are over so quickly that i don’t feel all that rewarded for accomplishing them. the process of acquiring herba mystica is a good bottleneck keeping it from spiraling entirely out of control, but it feels so distinct from the actual shiny hunting process that it doesn’t help alleviate those feelings for me.
ORAS: i don’t hate shiny hunting in oras or anything, but i don’t think it does anything exceptionally well, either. horde hunting is just as fun as it is in xy, although it’s fairly easy to exhaust the catalogue of huntable pokemon in both games. soft resetting legendaries is here, although for some of them, they require lengthy trips to the encounter point each time and you’re better off sticking with usum or even bdsp instead if you wanna hunt them. the standout is dexnav - frankly, i’ve warmed up to it a lot over the years, but i think it’s still the roughest chaining mechanic. the search function is simple to understand, and the mirage spots and hidden pokemon inject a bunch of new encounters to hunt for. that said, i think the sneaking aspect of it never feels quite right with a 3ds circle pad, and having to constantly swap between battles and sneaking means that it’s hard to stay in a groove. i don’t mind dexnav, but it’s rarely my first choice.
#i've got a nearly complete shiny living dex#and you don't get to that point without some Opinions#pokemon#shiny pokemon#shiny hunting#pokemon shiny hunting#koolmathgames.com

Nestled by the picturesque Fremont Lake, our campground offers a range of accommodations from full hookup RV sites to unique renovated sheep wagon camps. As you prepare for your stay, embracing sustainable RV travel not only enhances your experience but also helps preserve the stunning landscapes of Wyoming for future generations. Here are some practical tips for maintaining an eco-friendly lifestyle while enjoying the natural beauty around Boulder.

1. Choose Sustainable RV Parks
When selecting long-term RV parks in Wyoming, opt for those with strong environmental practices. At Wind River View Campground, we are committed to sustainability and minimizing our ecological footprint. Look for parks that offer:
Recycling Programs: Ensure the park has facilities for recycling common waste materials like paper, plastics, and glass.
Energy-Efficient Facilities: Choose parks with energy-efficient lighting and water-saving fixtures.
Waste Management: Parks should have clear waste disposal guidelines and provide options for composting organic waste.
2. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle
The principles of reducing, reusing, and recycling can greatly impact your RV travel experience:
Reduce: Minimize waste by bringing only what you need. Avoid single-use plastics and opt for reusable items like water bottles, shopping bags, and utensils.
Reuse: Invest in durable products that can be used repeatedly. For example, reusable containers and cloth napkins can replace disposable options.
Recycle: Sort your waste into appropriate recycling bins provided by the campground or local facilities.
3. Conserve Energy
Energy conservation is crucial when traveling in an RV. Here are some tips to keep your energy consumption in check:
Use Solar Power: Equip your RV with solar panels to harness renewable energy. This reduces reliance on fossil fuels and can help power your appliances while minimizing your impact on the grid.
Turn Off Lights and Appliances: When not in use, switch off lights, appliances, and electronics. Utilize LED bulbs for energy efficiency.
Optimize Your Air Conditioning and Heating: Use fans and ventilation to reduce the need for air conditioning. When heating, ensure your RV is well-insulated to maintain warmth efficiently.
4. Practice Water Conservation
Conserving water is essential in maintaining the health of natural ecosystems and ensuring a sustainable future. Follow these practices:
Shorten Showers: Limit shower time and consider installing a low-flow showerhead in your RV to reduce water usage.
Fix Leaks: Regularly check for and repair any leaks in your RV’s plumbing system to avoid water waste.
Use Water-Efficient Fixtures: Equip your RV with water-saving fixtures and appliances to minimize consumption.
5. Respect Wildlife and Natural Habitats
While exploring the natural wonders around Boulder, it’s vital to respect the wildlife and their habitats:
Follow Trail Guidelines: Stick to designated trails to prevent habitat destruction and minimize your impact on local flora and fauna.
Keep a Safe Distance: Observe wildlife from a distance to avoid disturbing them. Use binoculars or a camera with a zoom lens for a closer look.
Leave No Trace: Pack out all trash and follow the Leave No Trace principles to ensure you leave the environment as you found it.
6. Support Local and Sustainable Businesses
Enhance your eco-friendly travel experience by supporting local businesses that prioritize sustainability:
Local Farmers and Markets: Shop at farmers' markets and local stores for fresh produce and artisanal goods. This supports the local economy and reduces the carbon footprint associated with long-distance food transport.
Eco-Friendly Eateries: Dine at restaurants that practice sustainable sourcing and waste reduction. Many local eateries in towns like Pinedale and Jackson Hole emphasize environmental responsibility.
7. Engage in Eco-Friendly Activities
Make the most of your stay at Wind River View Campground by engaging in activities that align with sustainable travel practices:
Hiking and Biking: Explore the trails around Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone National Park on foot or by bike. These low-impact activities allow you to enjoy the scenery without contributing to pollution.
Fishing and Boating: When enjoying Fremont Lake, follow regulations and guidelines for sustainable fishing and boating. Use environmentally friendly products and avoid disrupting aquatic ecosystems.
Wildlife Observation: Participate in wildlife observation tours that emphasize conservation and responsible viewing practices.
8. Educate and Inspire Others

Today myself and a coworker had to turn a fossil 180° around so I could get access to the ventral side.
The first problem? Said fossil was a Barosaurus cervical vertebrae that is, no joke, half as tall as me.
The second problem? It was on a table alongside a second cervical vertebrae, meaning that there was no room for us to rotate the fossil (still too heavy to lift barehanded) as the entire table was crammed with just the two jackets.
We ended up using a forklift to give us extra space as we rotated it. Problem 1 and 2 solved.
Problem 3? After rotating, the jacket was hanging halfway off the table and needed to be pushed back on all the way. Unfortunately the table is wheeled, so it resulted in a ridoculous looking system where I grabbed the table and threw my entire weight backwards while my coworker pushed the jacket forward with all of his might.

My supervisor walked in, watched us expressionless for maybe 30 seconds, and then walked away without a word.
Not long after we got the jacket set up, I realized that the wheels on the table are in fact able to lock.
#i also got to uses an angle grinder on the jacket today#which is so much easier than spending 2 hours going at plaster burlap and tin foil with a hand held scribe and abrasive unit#why has no one told me about the existence of the angle grinder?#do yall realize how much time and sodium bicarbonate i could gave saved if any of my coworkers said something?#what the FUCK guys.#thank you table coworker for teaching me the wonders of the angle grinder#i sawed that jacket off in 5 minutes#angels were singing i swear#adventures in fossil preparation#paleontology#fossil preparation

POKEMON
Tanjiro Kamado - Part 1
Being a Demon Slayer wasn't easy for him, especially after he lost his family due to a demon attack and his younger sister Nezuko became a demon. But he decided not to give up and his goal to find a cure for her sister and defeating the king of demons.
After meeting a strange but interesting person named Natsuki and she has the ability to command strange looking animals/creatures and finding out that she is from another world, she decided to help him and stay by his side, learning later on that these creatures are called Pokèmon and the many adventures about his new friend's world.
During the training for the war against Muzan, Tanjiro and his friends were teleported to another world and they meet Natsuki. Since Tanjiro and his friends are stressed due to the war, they decided to settle down and started their new adventure in the Pokèmon world along with their Pokèmon Trainer friend.
POKEMON
Decidueye (Husui) - Male - Grass/Fighting Type
Decidueye, let's do our best to protect everyone!
First Pokèmon, his Ace. He captured him while time traveling with Celebi
As a Rowlet, Decidueye was the older of his family, but some Pokèmon hunters captured his family and Decidueye was the only one who escpaed from them
During his years of being alone, he started to train in order to become stronger
When Tanjiro asked to Natsuki about Decidueye, he answered him that Decidueye's legs are extremely powerful that it can knock trees down and shatter boulders with the power of its kicks (Leaving all the Kamaboko Squad and Hashiras very impressed)
Decidueye sees Tanjiro in himself and decided to become his partner after seeing him protect him from a pack of Aradios
Tanjiro sees Decidueye not as his Pokèmon partner, but a member of his family and he wants to see his friend be happy and safe
He's strong and smart, but when Nezuko pets his feathers he would blushed for emberassed (Zenitsu would laughed behind on his back until he received a smack on the back of his head)
Tanjiro and Decidueye do almost everything together, especially training and eating (ramen and tempura are their favorites)
Decidueye hates injustices and later demons (except Nezuko)
POKEBALL: Ultra Ball

Second starter Pokémon. He captured him while time traveling with Celebi, but he didn't evolved in Hisuian form, as Tanjiro and his friends go back in present time
He met him when he was a Dewott as he tried very hard to beat another Dewott
As Dewott, Samurott is a real proud Pokémon who took his job a the "Little disciple of the Water" very serious
Before being catched, Dewott always follows Tanjiro in order to challenge him against Decidueye
After being defeated many times, Dewott was upset, but Tanjiro proposed to him to join his team, which made the Discipline Pokémon very happy
He evolved in Samurott when he tried to learn Sacred Sword like his father (who knows who he is 😏)
Samurott has a friendly rivalry with Decidueye, he sees as his rival, but also a friend
Not only he's proud, but he's also impulsive and brave. But he's very kind and protective
Tanjiro has often problems with Samurott, especially when it comes to battles, but he knows that Samurott always follows his orders
Even if he won't to admit, Samurott is very fond of Tanjiro and Nezuko

As a Cranidos, Rampardos was very stubborn and very energetic
He liked heabutting everything and everyone
When the Head Butt Pokémon was crossing the line, Tanjiro decided to step in, headbutting the Pokèmon. As the result, only Tanjiro fell unconscious
After regained consciouns, Cranidos approached the boy and began to nuzzle his chest, asking to be his trainer which he accepted, surprising everyone
He evolved in Rampardos during the battle against Steelix
He still headbutt, but only against those who harmed his friends
One time Inosuke tried to beat the Head Butt Pokémon, only to be crashed into a rock wall after receiving a tail kick from the Pokémon (Luckily he wasn't in any danger after receiving treatment from Nurse Joy)

What a remarkable crow~
He captured it when Tanjiro was in Galar and found Corviknight nearly injured by a wild Pokémon
At first Corviknight didn't want the boy's help, but after few days the Pokèmon decided to trust him
The Raven Pokémon decided to join the team after a battle against Tanjiro and his team to see if he is worth to be his trainer
Unlike the crow from Tanjiro's world, Corviknight is not very talkative, he is very calm and patient
He dislikes Ramparados' antiques and whenever the Head Butt Pokémon starts to be wild, the Raven Pokémon would always put an end by battling against him
Corviknight is able to transport the Kamaboko Squad, even though at the beginning he didn't want to beacuse of Inosuke and Zenitsu
Corviknight is very careful and is very aware of dangers

As Larvesta, Volcarona thought that Tanjiro was his father and he would always snuzzle him and eat with him along with Decidueye
Volcarona sees Decidueye as his older brother
When he was Larvesta, Volcarona didn't fight very much, but once he learned Flamethrower he started to trained to become powerful like Decidueye and his trainer
He evolved in Volcarona when he saved Tanjiro and Decidueye from Pokémon hunters
He is brave and strong, but a real soft and goofball when it comes to his trainer
"Do you want to know something Tanjiro? Volcarona was considered a Pokémon that was born from the Sun?" "REALLY?!"
From that day, Tanjiro had always believed that he and the Sun Pokémon were destineted to meet
Volcarona get along very well with Kyojuro, Mitsuri, Shinobu and Giyuu, but he hates Sanemi and Inosuke (poor them 😅)
POKEBALL: Premier Ball
STRUMENT: Super Stone (Super Volcarona)
ABILITY: Flame Body (Burns the foe on contact)
NATURE: Modest
MOVES: Flamethrower, Sunny Day, Hidden Power [Water],Quiver Dance, Bug Buzz, Fiery Dance

You have a great sense of smell, Slurpuff 😄
Tanjiro met Slurpuff during a festival, more specifically a Food Festival
Slurpuff was Tanjiro's partner during the festival and soon they two get along very well
"Wait... Slurpuff can smell everything even from a mile from here? Is it possible for her to smell even demons?"
Who knows, it was never proved... until Slurpuff smelled a demon from Tanjiro's world, and she was able to defeat it
Tanjiro decided to let Slurpuff join his team
Since she likes to eat, she would often eat her friends' food, until she would receive a scold from her trainer
Slurpuff has once eaten Inosuke and Zenitsu's food. The result? They chased her
Despite her love for food, she is very generous and she is willing to give her food to others
Mitsuri and Nezuko love Slurpuff

AU - Janet and Danny started dating and were quite in love, the writer could make them childhood sweethearts even, thus Janet's passion being archeology. Janet becomes pregant out of wedlock, and tells Danny. Danny is quite happy and goes of to make preparations but shenanigans happens.
Danny tells Janet he'll be back within a month, should not take longer. Danny doesn't come back. Atleast not for a few years (could be time dilatation between worlds, a world crisis that needed Phantom or simply Danny being busy with paperwork for the new Prince if Dani is the Crown Princess.)
Janet feels betrayed and works to find a way to legitimize her child. And who helps her but her co-worker and fellow fossils enthusiastic Jack Drake. Jack knew everything. Had seen everything go down and when Janet is "betrayed" by Danny, proposes to her, promising to love her child as his own. Which he keeps because Good!Drakes.
In this AU, Jack Drake could not become a father, and was quite advocate for Blood not mattering. Which becomes Tim's philosophy as he grows up as well.
Tim deduces about his adoption, either by noticing he features not matching Jack or Science Experiments about Blood-types. Tim was 6 and makes his first case file/PPT. He beings out the PPT after dinner and walks his parents through the Steps of his deduction.
Not seeing any reason to deny, Jack and Janet tells Tim about the adoption and some of the circumstances surrounding Danny, because 6 years old.
Tim was 9 and had started deduced Bats identity and was working to deduce other JL. When he comes across, Danny Phantom. Tim being Tim, immediately deduce who that is. And being maybe 10 goes of to ask why he abandoned his mom.
Meet Fentons, who were quite surprised and angry Danny did not say anything, immediately tagging Tim (and Jack & Janet) as family. As night falls, Jazz does the ritual for summoning the Ghost King, made specially for these kinds of circumstances where Danny forgot to keep them informed. And gives him an earful. While Danny has no idea how long its been, justifying he needs to finish paperwork so he can help Janet with her pregnancy.
Neither notices Small! Tim on the stairs, listening to their talk, because the bright green light work him, because Gotham. Tim understands the situation and in his next email to his parents, P. S. Them about Danny's kingship and time delation between the DC universe and Infinite Realms.
Their reaction full on panic at how Tim knows that or How does Tim even knows Danny, and rushing to Gotham to an Empty house, only thing stopping them for panicking further that Tim is with Danny, he's as safe as can be. And leaving straight to Amity Park.
While on Tim's side, next morning, Tim is introduced to Danny, and told what he deduced in Kidish Terms but full disclosure because Fentons knows the price of Truth. Also, otherwise nothing would make sense and if Tim is smart enough to deduce Danny identity and track them down, he is smart enough to notice the lies or omissions of truth.
Jack & Janet comes to Amity, and agree to keep Danny in loop but all three agree Jack has bigger claim on the Title of Dad than Danny. Canon happens as it did. Jason dies, Tim becomes Robin, Janet dies, Jack remarries, Jack dies, etc. Only Tim does not lose contact with his Parents because in Afterlife, they are invited to became a part of the King's entourage. Putting together lost civilizations, culture and languages, and overall having fun with their passion.
Ironically, after death Drakes are more involved in Tim's life than before. Comeing to see him when they can, teaching him about their new findings and long lost languages. They knows almost all of YJ adventures, by simply exchanging stories about their adventures. YJ was quite confused when they found out Tim's parents are dead because they just came to the Get Together last weekend.
Kon knows more about Kryptonians and thier culture. Cassie knows more about amazonians, Bart adores them and revels in how much they dote on him. Tim is exasperated with how much chaos his Team and his Parents cause when together, but takes it in stride because it probably doesn't even rank in the top 50 of strangest things they seen.
I like the idea of everything happening before TT! The Clench, Jean-Paul, The Eathquake, No Man's Land, and everything and then Jason coming all ignorant, and goes you didn't even mourn me like it has been 4 years. Which would really showcase the Talia's mechanisms and conditioning. (Not that she needs to be bad, she can be good mom and stuff and still make a plan to ruin other's downfall. Let her be a good mom and a bad guy at the same time.)
Cue the Titans Tower Fight! Exact same as yours, only it was Jack who tackled Jason, and Janet who was cuddling Tim. While Danny is behind them Cheering them on. Tim is taken to the Realms to recover and Bats run like chickens all around trying to find their injured bird. About a week later, Tim comes back, fully recovered and gaslights Jason & the rest into believing that his wounds were superficial.
BruceQuest! Tim wanting to do things on his own, due to sprite, and anger at Dick. Doing things the hard way, even though he could've simply asked Clockwork.
Like, Dick dropped the ball hard on Tim. With all the deaths and everything, Tim's first plan was keeping close to those are here, thus asking Clockwork for a favor. But with Dick taking Robin, Tim felt he needed to get away, thus his decisions being of Red Robin. Cue Red Robin Arc. Tim still works with the league, still gets bruce back, and still moves out.
One thing this AU changes is that on paper Tim is Not a Wayne. Bruce never having Tim as a son but still getting Custody because Tim wants to stay in Gotham and Danny can't leave Amity Park. Both understand and visits are still made. Tim still attended all the parties, family dinners and everything on both sides. Just Tim having Danny as a dad but it not affecting his decisions and life all that much at all, in the most fundamental level.
Tim not being a Wayne officially, is old news and known to all gotham, but still if anyone asked Tim Drake is a Wayne. So there are those who knows about the not-adoption and they are those that 'deduced' the adoption. And yes Damian and Jason are in the latter category while Stephanie, YJ Helena, Dick, etc. Are in former category. Just Gotham as a whole not even being surprised Tim took over WE, maybe regarding his age, but the act itself, Nope.
I love the idea of Tim repurposing the Monarch Theatre and other Warehouses But I also love Tim living with Bernard on a Boat. So, we're doing both. The Theatre is Red Robin's HQ, while the boat is Tim Drake's official residence. Tim being Tim, each are different people, a different persona. Similarly, WE is Tim Wayne's space while the Manor is Robin's. I also love Neons Knights Program, and Tim's employees being Ex-league members, thus creating Tim an unmatchable Info Network, despite it not being the main goal of the program. So, Tim owns all the ability to take over the world. But doesn't want the responsibility.
An extra oneshot of everyone reactions to Tim's Timness. Damian is definitely jealous of the big dog (cujo) that comes to play with Tim. Jason definitely wondering where Tim gets his artifacts knowledge and facts-finding skills. Constraine wondering why Red Robin carrys the peotection of the Ghost King. Aquaman wondering where Tim learned the anciet royal language. Wonder Woman attending dinners wth family and seeing Tim there. Superman being lectured on Kryptonian Culture. Maybe, the first time intro of YJ to their Robin's Parents.
Another of Bruce and Dick talking about Tim's exclusions during Red Robin and Bruce going "Dick. Clockwork" and Dick just crumbling that their was an easy answer, which of course Tim definitely knew but didn't implement because he is petty and a little shit like that. Just Alfred, Bruce, Dick and Barbara always knowing about Danny and the Drake family lore but never connecting the dots.
Danny is Tim’s bio dad and the reason he can see spirits. Janet took advantage of the Dalv
Co heir at a party in order to baby trap him, but he disappeared soon after. She marries Jack in a hurry to cover up what happened and so Jack believes Tim is his. When Tim asks his mom who the translucent people are she figures that Danny must’ve been a meta and tells Tim never to mention it again. Later at Titan’s Tower, Tim is bleeding out from Jason’s attack while Jason writes on the walls in his blood. Suddenly, everything freezes over, including the wound on his throat. Something invisible slams Jason into the window and knocks him out. Invisible hands lift Tim from the ground and finally his savior appears. The man is certainly not human but still there are traces of features Tim recognizes in himself. The man cradles him close and Tim closes his eyes. They enter a green portal.

From Peasant Fodder To Posh Fare: How Snails And Oysters Became Luxury Foods

Oysters and escargot are recognised as luxury foods around the world – but they were once valued by the lower classes as cheap sources of protein. Less adventurous eaters today see snails as a garden pest, and are quick to point out that freshly shucked oysters are not only raw but also alive when they are eaten. How did these unusual ingredients become items of conspicuous consumption?
From Garden Snail To Gastronomy
Eating what many consider to be a slimy nuisance seems almost counter-intuitive, but consuming land snails has an ancient history, dating to the Palaeolithic period, some 30,000 years ago in eastern Spain. Ancient Romans also dined on snails, and spread their eating habits across their empire into Europe. Lower and middle class Romans ate snails from their gardens, while elite consumers ate specially farmed snails, fed spices, honey and milk.

Pliny the Elder (AD 24–79) described how snails were raised in ponds and given wine to fatten them up. The first French recipe for snails appears in 1390, in Le Ménagier de Paris (The Good Wife’s Guide), but not in other cookbooks from the period.
In 1530, a French treatise on frogs, snails, turtles and artichokes considered all these foods bizarre, but surprisingly popular. Some of the appeal had to do with avoiding meat on “lean” days. Snails were classified as fish by the Catholic Church, and could even be eaten during Lent.
For the next 200 years, snails only appeared in Parisian cookbooks with an apology for including such a disgusting ingredient. This reflected the taste of upper-class urbanites, but snails were still eaten in the eastern provinces.

An 1811 cookbook from Metz, in the Alsace region in northeastern France, describes raising snails like the Romans, and a special platter, l'escargotière, for serving them. The trend did not travel to Paris until after 1814.
French diplomat Charles-Maurice de Talleyrand-Périgord (1754–1838) hosted a dinner for Russian Tsar Alexander I, after he marched into Paris following the allied forces’ defeat of Napoleon in 1814. The chef catering the meal was the father of French cuisine Marie-Antoine Carême, a native of Burgundy, spiritual home of the now famous escargots de Bourgogne.
Carême served the Tsar what would become a classic recipe, prepared with garlic, parsley and butter. Allegedly, the Tsar raved about the “new” dish, and snails became wildly popular. A recipe for Burgundy snails first appeared in a French culinary dictionary published in 1825.
It is ironic that it took the approval of a foreign emperor, who had just conquered Napoleon, to restore luxury status to escargot, a food that became a symbol of French cuisine. Snails remain popular today in France, with consumption peaking during the Christmas holidays, but May 24 is National Escargot Day in France.
Oysters: The Original Fast Food
Oysters are another ancient food, as seen in fossils dating to the Triassic Era, 200 million years ago. Evidence of fossilised oysters are found on every major land mass, and there is evidence of Indigenous oyster fisheries in North America and Australia that dates to the Holocene period, about 12,000 years ago.
There are references in classical Greek texts to what are probably oysters, by authors like Aristotle and Homer. Oyster shells found at Troy confirm they were a favoured food. Traditionally served as a first course at banquets in Ancient Greece, they were often cooked, sometimes with exotic spices.

Pliny the Elder refers to oysters as a Roman delicacy. He recorded methods of the pioneer of Roman oyster farming, Sergius Orata, who brought the best specimens from across the Empire to sell to elite customers.
Medieval coastal dwellers gathered oysters at low tide, while wealthy inland consumers would have paid a premium for shellfish, a perishable luxury, transported to their castles.
French nobles in 1390 preferred cooked oysters, roasted over coals or poached in broths, perhaps as a measure to prevent food poisoning. As late as the 17th century, authors cautioned:
But if they be eaten raw, they require good wine […] to aid digestion.

By the 18th century, small oysters were a popular pub snack, and larger ones were added as meat to the stew pot. That century, it is believed as many as 100,000 oysters were eaten each day in Edinburgh and the shells from the tavern in the basement filled in gaps in the brickwork at Gladstone’s Land in Edinburgh’s Royal Mile.
Scottish oyster farms in the Firth of Forth, an inlet of the North Sea, produced 30 million oysters in 1790, but continual over-harvesting took its toll. By 1883 only 6,000 oysters were landed, and the population was declared extinct in 1957.
As wild oyster stocks dwindled, large oyster farms developed in cities like New York in the 19th century. Initially successful, they were polluted, and infected by typhoid from sewage. An outbreak in 1924 killed 150 people, the deadliest food poisoning in United States history.

Far from the overabundance of oysters we once had, over-fishing, pollution, and invasive species all threaten oyster populations worldwide today. Due to this scarcity of wild oysters and the resources required to safely farm environmentally sustainable oysters, they are now a premium product.
Next On The Menu
Scarcity made oysters a luxury, and a Tsar’s approval elevated snails to gourmet status. Could insects become the next status food? Ancient Romans ate beetles and grasshoppers, and cultures around the world consume insects, but not (yet) as luxury products. Maybe the right influencer can make honey-roasted locust the next species to jump from paddock to plate.
