[laughs] That was the underlying thing that I was gonna reveal eventually, but we'll-- we'll never reveal it now. Like, officially-- on the server, y'know. "It was gonna be this whole thing, where I was gonna control the server, take over everything, eventually start handing out jobs to people. And then eventually those jobs would stop being, like, interesting. They wouldn't be like, 'Build a village! Build this, build that, bababababah! Gift something to a friend.' "And then, the tasks were gonna slowly start changing to: 'Travel 20,000 blocks in this direction, and tell me what you find.' 'Look for a tall man, with a scar on his left eye.' Like, just really obscure shit."

Finally decided to play around with my old lineless style again! Also figured out a way to draw Reimu that I actually really like!

Artist's Notes;

I've mentioned in a few earlier posts that I've been wanting to draw in my lineless style again for a while as a way to test what I've learnt from my previous style in regards to lighting. I did the face first and then for a while was thinking about doing a full body illustration of Reimu just to draw her outfit again. I'll talk about the face first since that's the first drawing I did in this batch.

For the longest time I really couldn't find a way to translate Reimu's face into my style. I was able to make her clothes work out well, just not really her face. I did like elements of how I drew her face a few other times, namely the tiny eyebrows and her pupils, but they didn't really feel like Reimu to me, or at least how I imagined her in my head. I then realized that it was less of a problem with the entire face and moreso the eyes, and it took me quite a bit of trial and error to make something that I was happy with. Also, as much as I thought the tiny eyebrows were cute, it didn't really make sense with her character. Like, from what I know about Japanese history, plucking your eyebrows was something that nobles (rich people) would do, and since Reimu is...neither of those things, I decided to just give her some thicker eyebrows instead (I will be saving the plucked eyebrows for another character though, so they will return). After I got to a face I was happy with, my next challenge was the hair. I did the front part first and liked that enough to continue, and then after more trial and error I realized that deep down I was a short-hair-Reimu-is-best-Reimu-truther this whole time because once I gave up on the long hair and gave her shorter hair something just clicked in my brain. And so, after drawing her outfit in again (this time without the yellow tie which is kinda sad but I'll find a way to incorperate it into future designs because it just was not making sense to me in context with the rest of the outfit) and finnicking around with the bow, I came to a version of Reimu's face that I actually liked. I thought that it made more sense for her character to have her cut it short, mainly because she's doing a bunch of Youkai extermination and she has to keep her hair out of her face somehow. I still wanted to make it kinda messy though, as Reimu is probably too lazy to clean it up herself. I think another reason I like it so much is because in Forbidden Scrollery, Moe Harukawa gave Reimu short hair and that really suited her, so I guess that was just a subconcious reason as to why I liked it so much. I also think that the shorter hair helps to separate her a lot from Marisa, as I think Marisa looks really good with longer hair. Speaking of, now I wanna do a drawing of her and Reimu together to really solidify how I draw them (unlike the previous version where it was just them standing). As much as I do like the face, I am concerned if she looks too much like how I drew Keiki now, but that might just be a product of the stylistic choices I made with her eyes and I might just be overthinking it. I am hyperaware of same face syndrome so that's probably the reason I'm so concerned about it lol.

Now for the fully body drawing. I was struggling to think of a good pose for her, so I just took a picture of myself and used that as a reference while still making slight adjustments for readability's sake. This is another case of, "I've looked at this too long and can spot every single issue with it" but this time I'm still happy with the final product mainly because this was a test drive for how I want to develop my lineless style in the future and for what it is I am more than pleased with the result. The main reason I deviated away from my lineless style was mainly because I was having a hard time with the lighting and making it interesting, and I am so glad that I've finally found a way to make it work! I'm especially happy with the clothes, as I think clothing folds are really fun to draw. I was somewhat inspired by the works of J.C. Lyendecker and the way he draws clothes, though admittedly it is not a one to one, since I mainly wanted to try implying the shading of the clothing folds with shapes (I do really want to do a study of his style one day as his art is incredible). So for the sleeves, I drew in a bunch of triangles where I wanted there to be a strong highlight, roughly coloured in the inside, and then blended them all so it looks like a more subtle. On both of these drawings, I also added in a noise filter to give it some texture (as that's what I used to often do with my drawings) and while I do like it, I might want to experiment with making it more subtle in the future, as it's pretty noticeable in both these drawings. Overall, I'm really happy with the lighting and colours of this drawing, and while I could nitpick several aspects of it (her hand holding the gohei looks too tense, I tried making her look like she was standing on the balls of her feet but the positioning of her Gohei's trail of papers ends up making it look weird, and I could've put more effort into the hair and bow and so many more things), this is more of a piece for me to experiment with my style again, and I'm excited for when I get a new idea for a piece, as I really wanna try some more stuff out with this style!

When Ishmael turned back time to restore everything to how they 'originally' were, there appears to be a slight miscalculation from her carefully thought out plan.

Something went wrong.

Selena could tell that there was something different in the world, and she sought out to find out what it was. The change felt minor, and with everyone forgetting who she was, Selena could only march on with hope for the future.

For years, she had remained in the background, silently watching— Observing as the world continued to turn and change before her eyes. Everything seemed normal up until the point where the world suddenly shifting, rewinding to some time ago.

Thus, she began to wander again, much like a knight who worked for no one but herself, searching for that needle in the haystack that had altered the events of this timeline.

Eventually, she was met face to face with a familiar figure.

She herself had never met this person. She's only ever observed or heard stories about them, how crowds would speak of them like some legendary hero in a storybook.

"They saved my life!" many would claim.

"Humanity's only hope!" others would say.

It seemed that wherever they went, only good things would follow by mentioning their heroic deeds, sparking hope across all creatures— human or construct alike.

Commandant [name].

Only, they didn't look ANYTHING like how Selena would've imagined a legendary fairytale hero.

No, this version of [name] looked as if they were melting down into the purest 'form' of the punishing virus— like they had assimilated it into their human body, becoming its host.

The 'commandant' was found in an area with an extremely high PV concentration. However, this area...

It was a paradise full of life. There were plants of many types growing in full bloom. Selena saw all sorts of trees, flowers, vegetation sprouting healthily from the ground– even her favorite irises. Critters and animals alike were prancing around freely, as if scared to go beyond the safe 'borders' which lead out to the wasteland.

This place seemed like a safe haven; A true safe eden that many could only dream of, hidden away by some weird trick of the eye that any normal human would miss easily, like a desert mirage. A little corner of earth, somehow untouched by the punishing virus.

But the Commandant stuck out like a sore thumb in the scenery. [Name] looked bitter, as if the brautiful colors of life had been drained out of their eyes.

"...Commandant [name]?" Selena was almost afraid to ask, only doing so out of curiosity.

A strange, almost hurt look flashed in their eyes.

Sighing heavily, the former Commandant narrowed their eyes. "...Please don't refer to me as 'Commandant.' If you're here to battle, I suggest you leave."

But there was a nagging thought in the back of their head.

Who was this construct, and why does she feel so familiar? Hell, why does she seem to know them?

Selena simply smiled. The gentle aura from her radiance convinced [name] that she wasn't here to harm the life that they had tried so hard to preserve and protect. In fact, [name] strangely hasn't felt this peaceful since they got deserted by Babylonia.

"I'm sorry, it seems I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Selena, or as someone once loved to call me..."

Hi! I am coming at you about the "hozier album //Jason Todd" repost you made, in which you stated that you would take no criticism and, should someone come at you, you would rant line by line about it

I don't particularly disagree with you, but as a hozier and jason todd fan I need to hear more about this!!!!

Ohhh ho ho ho ok I have been SAVING this ask as a little treat because I was so excited when it came in but I've realised if I keep saving it I won't answer it! So! Here we go.

I'm gonna use the first songs from his newest and oldest albums for this (originals not special editions)- only doing a few lines from each or this post will go on forever- but if you send me a specific track, I will do an analysis of linking it back to Jason! There are very very few songs that I cannot do this with.

First up- Take Me To Church! Arguably Hozier's most famous song.

It starts off with these lines:

I think of this one mainly in regards to Robin Jason. Jason was originally a very bubbly, happy character- before he was originally killed off. In future Robin-Jason comics, whilst still maintaining that very Robin sense of humour, he's more volatile and seems to make light of situations he shouldn't- lining up with this first verse. The following "Knows everybody's disapproval" aligns with every comic of Jason since being written with the knowledge that he was disliked as Robin, with several going so far as to have the public in-universe dislike him, too; and with the follow-up of the regret felt when Jason had actually been killed. A lot of voters had expressed being shocked because they didn't believe he would actually be killed off based on the results of the infamous poll, and many in the present who feel Jason was treated unfairly: hence, "They should've worshipped (him) sooner".

I especially enjoy these lines in reference to Jason:

"No masters or kings when the ritual begins" When Jason comes back to life, there is nobody there for him- no welcoming arms of his father, and no condemning hands of his enemies. He is entirely alone; not directly aided in his resurrection by anyone, left to crawl out of his grave on his own.

"There is no sweeter innocence than our gentle sin" Jason was entirely oblivious to the fact that becoming Robin was viewed as a "sin" not just by the viewers, who disliked him for replacing Dick Grayson (as he was, originally, written as a Dick clone, pretty much) but also by Dick, who resented Bruce for passing on the mantle without checking with Dick first, and thus resenting Jason in turn for unwittingly stealing it from him: but Jason was oblivious, and sweet, and claimed it gave him magic. He wanted to help people and do good; and these actions led to his death. Another play on it is that the innocent and childish need to meet his mother *also* led to his death.

"In the madness and soil of that sad earthly scene" I enjoy paralleling between his death and resurrection here. Once again pulling back to the warehouse for the madness part- I personally imagine choppy cuts between the Joker swinging a crowbar to Jason's fingers digging out of the grave. On a different scenario, the line "Only then, I am human" I enjoy the idea of having Jason fighting to swim out of the Pits, lashing out immediately at whomever was closest, to push the bitter irony that without the murderous Mountain Dew he would've still been catatonic and living on the streets. Then it would be juxtaposed with perhaps the dozen-heads-duffel-bag for the following, "only then I am clean", to reference how he feels he is "cleaning up" the streets and making Gotham safer.

Next up is De Selby Part 1- We're starting in the coffin with these opening lines, babey!

This song makes me distraught over how Jason it is to me. I especially in this regard feel the verse, "That God at the start couldn't bear" is very fitting, as Jason was dead for months before coming back to life, as if God was reluctant to allow him to return to the suffering He knew Jason would thus be subject to.

Jason was catatonic for two years before being dunked in the Pit- but I think this line, too, speaks to the innate horror of having died a 15-year-old, and gained your consciousness at 18. He went through the brunt of puberty completely unaware; I have to believe he didn't recognise his reflection as his own, at first- I even imagine he may have seen Willis, instead, and if that isn't a true horror in itself? You no longer recognise yourself as you, but the face in the mirror is still familiar as the one of your abuser. Yikes. Still, for these lyrics specifically, I think the first applies better: Not recognising himself post-Lazarus, feeling disconnected from his body.

For this song I also want to note these lines:

These lines specifically give me CHILLS for Jason. Going from Robin, who is the light to Batman's darkness, to the Red Hood- shadows and resentment and pain. And the way he "transformed" -a la murder Mountain Dew- on top of the fact that as someone brought back from the dead, he is technically an unwilling subject of necromancy- very much hammers the "Is claochlú an ealaín/Is ealaín dubh í" home. Yeah.

I had to look it up because I couldn't remember but, do you mean Parisia??

I'm not sure of it's meant to be a core eye but if it IS and if it's related to the paintings on Mother Olm's wall... all I can come up with is that someone, maybe Leif, was able to actually see into the future with the box (another thing that I don't know where to begin to explain) to even have a visual image of what these future events would look like (how did they even know the appearance of these prophesized heros?)

There's also the same mural over and over again, both in the First Temple and in Mother Olm's chambers. The fact that most depictions are carved and not painted leads me to believe the olms might have made them.

The temples in general have a lot of olm imagery, but if the olms believe the power of the gems rightfully belong to its users and that taking it from them constitutes stealing (something that would allow for use of the box), then the olms didn't create them. Valeriana created the box, but her order didn't invent the mechanism through which power was extracted from the gems (the temples). We know that because she says her order studied them. Now that I think about it, could it be that the olms DID build the temples precisely to prevent people using their power before Valeriana came up with an artificial way to do so? In that case the olms only saw the calamity trio as the legitimate users of the stones, which would make sense if they know the prophecy can only be fulfilled by three foreigners (morrowind reference! /jk). If that's the case, and if we take into account the prophecy is older than the temples, then they might have been built in order to facilitate the prophecy. The temples themselves make no sense though so don't get me started on those 😭😭😭

I'm sorry I'm rambling about olm imagery but I felt the need to think about it before even beginning to tacke Parisia having a fucking core eye necklace 😭 what does she even need a necklace for?? She's fucking blind 😭😭😭 everyone is blind. No one is ever gonna see her necklace. Anyway I couldn't find any other instance of core imagery so... I can only imagine Parisia represents the worst of the olms, seeing how the prophecy is, supposedly, about the calamity trio saving amphibians from becoming the worst version of themselves. The olms clearly have SOME idea of what this great evil looks like, given the mural. It's possible Parisia wears the necklace as some sort of remider of what's out there.

Okay so I know I already shared some useless lore musings with you that you did not ask for BUT. I HAVE MORE. Now check out this fucking insane mother olm concept art. I know it's extremely cursed but it's soooo interesting to me

Like there are many concepts they ended up not going with obviously (Mother Olm as the LITERAL mother of olms, Mother Olm as a prisoner...) but I thought you'd find interesting that little but up there about rejuvenating goo 👀 another interesting Olms - Core - Leviathans connection, if they all know about this thing and seemingly use it to prolong their lifespans. Who discovered it first? Is it a common substance in Amphibia? Clearly it comes with a cost. I just find the idea that whatever kept Marcy alive is what keeps Mother Olm alive fascinating.

A Year of Animation Day 135-136: Craig of the Creek S3E1-10

Okay, overall, I feel like these episodes stood out less than some of the other sets (that's okay though. I think for the most part, Creek, like Bluey, doesn't have bad episodes. It just has better ones.) That being said, I have become very invested in the serialized plotlines of this show, so my favorite episode was "The Last Day of Summer." I love that the Game Master created a real-life dungeon, and that to win both flags, you have to work together. I also really like the message that "you can't destroy a game, but you can make sure it's played right."

Naturally, I also enjoyed watching "The Other Side: The Tournament," and I really enjoyed what felt like a ten-minute Robin Hood reference. That, and Craig's grandmother's shirt, which changes in every scene, from "shh," to "buckle up," to "surprise." You know, it would surprise me if I knew someone whose shirt did that. I love Craig's grandmother.

I also understand why "The Ice Pop Trio" seems to be a fan favorite. Craig, Sparkle Cadet, and Cannonball make a fun trio, and like Sparkle says, "it's a nice break from my usual monster-of-the-week format." Don't get me wrong, I love JP and Kelsey, but it's also nice to see our hero interacting with other characters (especially when those other two characters may be developing a romance between them.)

This episode also just has some fun details. I mentioned yesterday that I enjoyed the worldbuilding in Kiki's Delivery Service that Kiki was so used to flying that she didn't know how to ride a bike, and we get that again with Sparkle Cadet (I did not expect that to show up twice in a row!) Also, Kelsey calls her grandma "grandma" and not "bubbe" in this episode, but it does confirm that Elder David is Jewish, so someone at the creek is, even if Kelsey isn't.

Finally, "Creek shorts' mentioned that Deltron is from the future, so I figured out what "visit Del" meant on the time machine. And I felt kind of stupid that I hadn't thought of that, especially because Deltron is played by Del the Funky Homo Sapian. Twice the name, twice the obvious. I think I forgot that time machines also go into the future.

The rest of the my notes were all about interesting details I found in the episodes:

I like how Craig imagining his life as a TV show in "Creek shorts" became the credits. I wonder if the creators made the credit sequence first or made the short first, but never got the chance to use it.

I really like that Kelsey describes knee pads and elbow pads as cool. I appreciate her commitment to safety (I guess she would want good armor) and that the show doesn't back down from it. (If you read my review of The Pagemaster, you'll remember I thought the movie went too far in that it depicted the protagonist as being overly careful for wearing a bicycle helmet. Considering I literally know someone whose life was saved by a helmet, I don't need kids shows belittling those who follow legitimate safety precautions.) Likewise, I really like that Nicole tells Craig how important it is to wear sunscreen, even though he has melanin to protect his skin and won't explode instantly like JP. I've seen more than one frustrated post online venting about the incorrect belief that Black people don't need to wear sunscreen, so it's really cool to see a kids' show battling misinformation in this way. (I also just love how grounded the show is when it comes to modeling safety.)

Though I do wish Craig didn't get so jealous of his dad at the beach. Duane is a really cool dad, and when you have a dad that cool, you should want to share him. But you know what proves that Duane is so cool? The fact that he knew how to help his kid have fun without making him feel overshadowed. A Plus parenting.

Additionally, I love how when Creek introduces a new character or a new concept, they always bring it back. If you read my post about ATLA's "The Beach," you'll know that one of my favorite rules of writing is "if it's worth putting in once, it's worth putting in twice." These ten episodes contain a plethora of examples of things that were worth putting in twice, including the Council of the Creek, Todd of the Ten Speeds, Sparkle Cadet's entire magical girl intro (this is one of my favorites), and JP being a truck. Also, Stacks and Kelsey got in a fight about how Stacks never gets to have adventures, and then she goes on one in "The Last Game of Summer!" Honestly? I fully expect the kid in charge of the pencil break competition to return as well.

And speaking of "Pencil Break Mania," this was probably my favorite episode animation-wise. Again, this show is reference city, and it never. Gets. Old. (And I'm aware that a lot of them are going over my head.) I love the WWE style pencil break competition, especially the hand that holds up the name card (because they're kids, and they can't add these in later.)

"Plush Kingdom" introduces us to Pullstring, who uses they/them pronouns. Is there anything this show hasn't thought of?

And last but not least, I liked seeing the timekeeper on the saxophone because that's my instrument :D

So I guess that even though many of these episodes don't stand out in my head like some of the previous ones, there's still a lot to get out of them, and I'm just so excited to see you tomorrow at the creek!

I did not have much thoughts on Taiga before, other than him being surprisingly chill despite being a lil freaky but omg seeing his max affinity line along with his line on the ditched future.... the angst is unmatched.

You're stuck with him till death do us part? Whether you like it or not? Especially in a time loop situation, imagine that either of them have a high likelihood of dying within the year. One or both of them have tried to fix it, to no avail. Maybe they were a thing in one of the loops but only Taiga (vaguely) remembers it and that would make the max affinity line extra bittersweet because he's only succeeded at freaking out MC in the current timeline lol.

Maybe Taiga was invested in saving (everyone? himself? mc?) before but no matter what he does nothing changes? iirc he was an exemplary student going on a ton of missions to find anomalies, maybe he thought one of the random anomalies out there had something to do with their situation? But at some point between then and now he stopped giving a shit.

Also I find it interesting how the ghouls are constantly destroying anomalies instead of capturing them. It could be that they just don't give 2 fucks but also can't help but wonder if maybe the older ghouls have some kinda truce like don't bring back any anomalies if you can help it, nothing good can happen by giving the academy/institute more info on these things (bc at the very least Leo in the prologue implies the people up top are responsible for whatever messed up situation they were in, and he's the most likely person to uncover a conspiracy with his skillset + Jin and Tohma want to dethrone his dad as director or whatever his position was, possibly also found out smth behind the scenes)

It's all just speculation but god they are so good a pulling me around by the nose with this mystery when I had 0 expectations of this game (I mean, it still kinda sucks gameplay-wise but the story is so good)

Can't wait for new chapter soon, tho rn I am in gacha hell with wuwa, 18trip and gakuenmas.......

Yeah, the potential is there for this to be something big and for Taiga to be heavily involved in it, or at least the person who's most aware of it so far(Jin's "i know this won't last forever" line also kind of carries the implication that he knows but that has many other explanations.) It would probably be more angst-heavy if his memory weren't garbage lmaooooo THEN AGAIN maybe he'll remember you forever now that he loves you as much as he does haha. He definitely didn't remember you before this, or he didn't show any sign of remembering, so if he knew you in another timeline or you were together in another timeline i suspect he forgot, just like with everything.

As for dying, the PC is going to die within the next year if their curse isn't lifted and the prologue shows that someone else dies in the destruction of the school with the pc still alive(so either before the year is up or after the curse is lifted). So they both definitely have the potential to die in that period of time, if nothing is done to change the future. . ."if death do us part" is something Taiga very well might know will happen eventually. In fact, if his stigma actually does allow him to see the future like I'm beginning to suspect, he might know that that's what going to happen. I mean everybody dies eventually but I mean outside of a natural death.

From what Hyde says(I checked both Japanese and English) Taiga used to play more of an active part in the past, so yeah it seems like he's lost some of his enthusiasm. . .although it's very likely he's referring to that Sinostra's on probation and he can't go on missions at all right now, considering just a few months prior he was on a mission and seemed plenty enthusiastic. But as far as operating as captain goes(he's only been captain for around 6 months as of the start of the Sinostra chapter) it seems like he doesn't put any effort in. . .according to Romeo he only cares about anomalies and gambling, but if that were true he wouldn't care to tell you about the spy because he wouldn't even know. (Romeo also says he doesn't go after humans anymore which is. . .not true, so Romeo may just be blissfully unaware since their relationship is so bad these days.)

It'd make sense if this lack of enthusiasm arose from seeing an unfavorable future and thinking it isn't worth it to try at this point. He does say he's been telling someone(likely Romeo) that things will fall apart if they keep going the way they have been but since that person's been uncooperative with making changes he doesn't see a way things will change. . . .so why should he put in work? I assume he can see the future, not travel through it--hence 'ditch this future' he's simply refusing to play any part in impacting it. Even when he jumps from the ledge in the prologue if you choose to save him, he asks what he could have done to change things. I wonder how long he's been trying.

he doesn't even talk the same was he normally does, so you know it's kinda serious. He would love to know how to prevent this.

As for ghouls destroying anomalies, I think it's a matter of safety in the situation as well as a general lack of powers that can actually capture the anomalies. Most of them have weapons with destructive powers and stigmas that are destructive. But in almost every case capture wasn't much of an option due to safety concerns.

Frostheim had human children present. Jin's stigma only seems to work for a few minutes at best even with the PC buffing him. They didn't have a means to keep the anomaly contained and keep the children safe, not to mention the last living one was about to kill the PC and one of the kids. Like Kaito said, in a situation dealing with monsters it's hard to think to incapacitate and capture them, especially when someone else's life is at stake. To ensure their survival and minimize damage to civilians, the anomalies needed to be killed.

Vagastrom's anomaly was a tulpa and couldn't be captured in the first place. If people kept believing in it it would just reappear elsewhere. People no longer believing in it took it out of existence. No room at all for containment.

Jabberwock. . .well, they know Towa's unstable. Princess Oto severely injured Haru, and Towa wasn't going to let it get away with that. The Kraken and Calamari were allowed to escape because capturing them would do more harm to the ecosystem than good.

Sinostra had to destroy it theirs to prevent the destruction of the casino and prevent harm coming to the general students, Romeo, and the PC. Also Taiga's just a killing machine so--

I feel like Mortkranken are going to successfully capture their anomaly simply because Yuri wants to run experiments on it. but it does depend on what their Stigmas are. We know that Jiro's chainsaw doesn't actually cut very well(Yuri told him to get them a Christmas tree and he said that his weapon doesn't cut stuff very well) and we also know that Jiro does all of the fighting in Mortkranken, whereas Yuri is ineffective in combat. They have the highest chance of capturing anomalies I think.

so like. I think that ultimately in those situations it was kind of the safest option for everyone present, killing the anomalies. Cornelius acts like 'just capture the anomalies it's easy!' but these are life or death situations. There were so many in Frostheim's case that they had to collapse a building to reduce the risk of them getting back out to the public. On the other hand, Jin probably could have teleported at least one of them back to Darkwick before they collapsed the building or instead of them killing one, but in the heat of the moment that probably doesn't occur to him as an option--also he probably wanted to make sure the pc was okay since he'd never be able to use his stigma again if she died, so going back in there to pull one of them out wasn't going to happen. Also he may or may not be rebelling against his dad, president of the Japanese branch of the Institution.

So I doubt it's something like an agreement between the third-years. I feel like it's just coincidence.

As for what Leo says in the pre-prologue, by then he would definitely be in on the situation simply because he's paying more attention than others and Alan is about as subtle as a firework no matter how hard Tohma tries to keep things secret. But maybe he gets roped in instead, since his power would be beneficial--they just have to make sure they can trust him first. . . . He does say that someone is responsible, but I think he means that regarding that life sucks, not the catastrophe occurring? Although that very well might be referring to the people at the top of the Institute too. . .on the other hand I would assume it's referring to whoever the spy is working with, and the Institute themselves aren't bad people(although Jin's dad sounds kinda like a piece of shit.) That or the Institute is the problem, or the prophecy somehow. . .if I could see the Japanese text I could see if there's a difference lol. . . .

Jin is going to inherit the position of president I'm pretty sure. I don't think that's a matter of usurping or anything like that where "Jin becomes the new president" is like, they take down Jin's father first. Like I'm pretty sure this is a familial inheritance thing--I feel like it's a "you're the eldest son so you're expected to take on the position of running the company" deal. You see it all the time in manga with office/business settings. Even Haku is supposed to take over the shrine his family owns. I don't think Jin and Tohma are dethroning Jin's father, it's just a matter of 'we need to prepare you to be in power here, you need to learn to be responsible and better than your father so you can do better than he does.'

BUT. YEAH. A LOT OF THEORIZING AND STUFF but I'm definitely surprised by how into it I ended up getting haha. My hyperfocus said "yeah I fuck with this" and now I'm stuck here. I don't really remember the abandoned concept they originally had(afair I was more unique than the current one, which is trying to stay in line with what's popular with the industry right now) but I really still would've loved to see it. . .but I'm still enjoying the current result and looking forward to the new chapters. (One week away for Hotarubi!!! Home stretch, just gotta survive one more week of work!) I feel like it's much less of a mystery as more. . .slowly growing suspense haha like it feels like a mystery because of the investigation we do as fandom, but the story itself is gonna reveal everything eventually. . .probably. So it's just anticipation on our parts hahaha. (And yeah the gameplay elements are uh nonexistent haha. Pretty sure the only reason I'm able to keep up with the chapters is because I spent money. 🙃)

Amane's ending

While I was answering some asks today, I came across an old Hanako panel, specifically this one:

So I've been thinking about how Hanako speaks with such certainty that Kou will become a great exorcist in the future and that he's eager for Kou to exorcise him.

It's an old panel, but it reminded me of a situation. I have a big problem with the idea that Hanako can transform into something absurdly dangerous, so dangerous that even he is afraid. I've talked about this several times.

You know, the difficulty Kou's grandmother had in sealing him, him showing fear about himself, people saying he's very powerful, him running his finger over his own seal when Yako said that "even though he has if transformed into something different, it was still him" referring to Mitsuba but Hanako felt represented, and I already talked about that, if you haven't seen it, just click here.

In short, all the signs that Hanako could turn into something without any control and that could potentially do a lot of damage. So if Hanako has his seal removed, he will lose control (it's a hypothesis) so Kou and Nene would try to stop him without having to actually "kill him," but Hanako would be so strong that that would be impossible.

So, if we follow this theory here, about Yashiro dying in the process while trying to save Hanako and he kills her, would Kou be responsible for exorcising him?

What if Hanako killed Yashiro (unintentionally) and he begged Kou to exorcise him because he couldn't bear the pain and guilt of having killed her, the same way he did to Tsukasa? (He couldn't bear the pain and guilt of losing his brother, right? Didn't he take his own life?)

Mitsuba asked Kou to exorcise him, but we saw that he didn't want to, what if this was a foreshadowing? We saw that Sakura used Sumire to see if Yashiro could take the seal from her, but Nene didn't, so Sakura made sure to show her how Sumire was destroyed.

Nene was shocked, so I imagine she won't allow it to happen again, this time with Tsukasa. So, will Kou have to see Mitsuba go through very terrible moments so that he can have the courage to exorcise him and in the future he can exorcise Hanako?

Interesting, isn't it? It's as if events are preparing Nene and Kou for what's to come.

Here is the document I gave all my players beforehand! This is a simplification of all the KOB rules, character creation process, and the worldbuilding for Unicopia! Please feel free to use as much or as little of it as you like for your game! It goes step by step through the character creation process and has a wide variety of examples and references. I try to be as thorough as possible but ofc I may have missed something! Please feel free to make up what i miss or shoot me a message if you're really curious jaja!

RFTTRPG: NPC Stats & BG Characters! (For GMs!)

This is what I used while GMing! Feel free to use these as you like! I tried to keep it simple and loose for the big characters like Hev and Trixie! And even simpler for the background characters. I didn't give the BG chars any stats as I knew I wouldn't need them for the one-shot I was running but please feel free to make your own BG chars, and stats, and all of that good stuff!

I also have a rough RF building chart for exploration! Our campaign was set inside the Rainbow Factory so it felt like a good idea to make this for my players! However please feel free to set your one-shot anywhere else in Unicopia! I hope to make a map of  the districts one day to add to the mini rule book later on! :o] You can also set it at another Happiness Factory such as the Tear Factory or Heart Factory! You could even have your unicorns visit Earth! The world is your oysta! ♡ 

Overall I tried to keep everything super simple and clear for both myself and my friends! I imagine other Factories in smaller districts would be much smaller than this but this is a rough idea of what I think most of them would sort of be like!

RFFTTRPG: One-shot Ideas & More! (For GM's)

I love love loved using the KOB system and reskinning it for my silly little world! and I love when a TTRPG gives you nice sort of rules to follow while still being super free and open in other aspects! It made it  easy for me to just come up with a simple problem/plot for my players! However I know coming up with something from scratch is also super intimidating and overwhelming! So here is the idea I did, along with some others I've thought of for fun! (and might even do in future games jejeje)

Kid on the Run!  This is super Monsters Inc inspired. Have the party over at a Factory for any reason you choose. I chose a tour/ted talk hosted by the lovely Trixie! It can also be a company party, or breaking and entering, or they already work there, etc.! Have one of the portals go haywire allowing a child to enter Unicopia! It's now up to the party to not only capture the child but return them back home safe and sound to the human world! All while keeping the child secret from the rest of unicornkind! RF: Happiness Special Forces The Counsel has decided to create a special task team in charge of going down to earth! Go undercover and stop those who cause great risk to Unicornkind! This could be stopping a huge evil corporation that is creating an excess amount of unhappiness, reducing the magic of Unicopia. Or having to go in and save multiple children in danger such as a field trip gone wrong! Or making an adult human who remembered their childhood unicorn forget about them again before things get dicey! Your players will have to keep their existence as unicorns a secret, all while saving their world, and exploring Earth as characters who may be unfamiliar with humans and their ways! Unicorn Hunters & the End of Unicopia What if unicorns biggest threat finally found out where they had been hiding all this time? and not just knew but had access to a portal? It's up to the players to stop them at all costs and save their world.  A high stakes adventure full of lore, magic, and potential unexpected allies!  The Daily Life of a Field Op/Happy Tech This is more of a slice of life concept! This would work well for smaller parties of 1-4 Players! Have your Players form teams and deal with the daily troubles a helping a kid/teen/pre-teen  as a Field op or Happy Tech! (You could even have one of your Players play one of the kids themselves!) While still balancing their social lives, self needs, etc.! A look inside what it's like for Unicopias most essential workers, their interpersonal dramas, relationships, etc. Great for those who love character centric collaboritive storytelling!

This is kind of a complex question lol (I'm answering only for my FFXIV OCs or else this answer would be more of a novel than it already will be), also prepare for a very stream-of-consciousness answer.

So I have two OCs that I actually play who know each other: X'vahl and Lyra

Lyra Kisne is X'vahl's (and I suppose now by extension Erenville's) future adopted daughter. I originally made her just because "viera pretty I want one but I love my catte too much to replace or fanta him. Also I want to make a viera inspired by albino bunnies" but due to me always referring to her as "my sweet bean bun dóttir" and X'vahl already having strong dad energy what started off as a joke became me actually making her his daughter. In X'vahl's storyline she's still a child. I haven't worked out how he meets her yet since as of current MSQ he hasn't. I get around her being an adult in her save as her actually imagining herself older while listening to stories of X'vahl's adventures as WoL and putting herself in his place. She kind of exists in this weird nebulous age situation though because of it. Like in all my gposes with her, it is in the future and she is an actual adult, but her going through MSQ she is a child imagining herself as an adult. It is very obvious that I didn't make her with the purpose of being X'vahl's daughter in mind lol.

I also have a bunch of NPC OCs that also know X'vahl. All of his retainers canonically exist and know him (2 or maybe 3 of which are not canonically his retainers, but serve other roles in his backstory). Out of all of them Levi'ra is probably the one I've mentioned most previously.

Levi'ra Bajhiri (or just Levi, pronounced like Levy) is an old friend that X'vahl met when he first traveled to Radz-at-Han in his 20s. Levi beat the shit out of someone who was trying to harass X'vahl right after he made it to the city. X'vahl ended up also being implicated in the shit-kicking (despite only being the victim) so he and Levi got to spend some time being detained for disturbing the peace and that's when they actually got to know each other. Levi is/was (he is now retired after the Final Days) a dancer working in Radz-at-Han so he taught X'vahl combat dancing (though it was a struggle. X'vahl is not good at combat dancing). I realize that some of this makes Levi sound like he's a magnet for trouble and a little too eager to throw down, but he's not. Levi is a ray of sunshine that X'vahl desperately needed in a friend at the time since he was still struggling to climb his way out of his lowest point at the time. X'vahl lost contact with Levi after he left Radz-at-Han the first time, but after he returned on WoL business in EW, he's made it a point to keep in touch. Levi always refers to X'vahl as just "Vahl" (he kind of didn't wait for permission to call him that, he just sort of did it almost immediately and X'vahl was like "okay I guess that's fine."). Levi is also responsible for helping X'vahl make the bracelet that X'vahl gifted to Erenville under the condition that, should Erenville accept it, X'vahl has to bring him to Radz-at-Han so Levi can meet him. Levi is basically X'vahl's "big little brother" since he's younger than X'vahl but he's very much acts like X'vahl is his kid brother (Levi himself is actually the youngest of five boys and as he puts it, "My mother wanted girls, but instead she got me and my brothers. She gave up trying after me, but she loves us all the same.")

I usually enjoy sleeping a lot, because if it were up to me I would sleep all day.

I'm usually nice and friendly but when you first get to know me it seems like I'm mad at everything but I'm actually very charismatic.

My favorite foods are Hershey's chocolates (especially dark chocolate) and sushi.

My music genre will be mixed, because I would like to experiment with tones and different genres.

Why do I want to be an artist?

Normally this dream started when I was very small and I loved writing little stories which many thought seemed like some kind of poem, I always liked the idea of writing, because it helped me, Sometimes I just want to vent and know how I feel or just to draw out what I have in my mind and what is happening in my life or hypothetically around me.

Chapter 59 Review

Geez Sa'luk is so petty to take down Kalim. He and Jafar are really the same when it comes to taking it out on descendants.

Oh my, Kalim is overusing his magic and add the fact that Jamil got stabbed. I knew he is gonna overblot given how close Ruggie and Jade are, basically foreshadowing it. Oh boy, the rest wouldn't like once they learn that Kalim overblotted.

Oh geez, Sa'luk is only in three chapters and is already dead again. I guess that makes Kalim's first kill just like how his ancestor Cassim killed him.

Why does the hole in the ceiling being a delusion reminds me of one of the Danganronpa executions? Good thing he didnt fell to his death or having saw traps

Jamil is such a creepy villain wanted to torture him so badly.

Third time the charm! I have been teasing you over the possibilities for a long time too! And at least I had a OB vs OB fight before the game could because let's face it we're heading to that direction. And Sa'luk didn't stay alive for long but he will be back in Kalim's trauma! Yay...

It took me a long time to figure out what to do for Kalim's design and the inspiration struck while I was at work and I'm so glad with the results and the fight.

Rook is also here but I didn't get the occasion to get him to say something and it honestly frustrate me but a lot of characters didn't get an occasion to speak up last chapter so I'll make up for it in chapter 61.

Idia honestly got to shine a little in this chapter but I had to nerf him as to not lock us in the bad ending for Book 7. I can't have Idia take apart ancient magic like that in front of Malleus so he found another smarter way to deal with it and got to tell Riddle off and help finish off the Djinn! Well done!

And careful with your Demon Slayer spoilers! You're three years too early for this!

As for Grim he will be eating it and it will not be good but we only get to see that at the end of Book 5 so don't worry, you get some time before we get to hell! :)
