Before we call anon rude because let’s see it from their perspective, imagine getting an entire feast to eat. That can be pretty hard to start with so much that’s going on, but if they start with one thing they know they’ll like (aka one character they like) that can be the start for them leaping to other characters to finish the story and the bigger story. I struggle the same way to start book series if I don’t have at least one character that drives me to read it, it’s all about what can be the hook to push them through. Sounds like the anon is neurodivergent (just a guess) so they might genuinely not see it as rude and see it as a solution to even play the game to start with.

Btw absolutely adore the game, the complex and rich characters making them all so unique is amazing. The art is so pleasing to the eyes I love it!! I’m waiting for it all to get out at once so I don’t get too impatient. Shae however interests me the most, which routes will have the most lore for them? Will there be routes that give more lore in general based on decisions you make or do they all share the same amount? (I mean general lore not just Shae lore)

Apologies; we are not trying to accuse any asker of being rude! We are simply explaining our perspective as the developers / are trying to broadly encourage folks to dip their toes into other areas of the story outside of the main route(s) they're interested in, especially considering some routes will be made available sooner than others, and these other routes will likely contain additional scenes/lore of everyone's fave(s) regardless! We want to give each main cast member an equal amount of love (and lore) regardless of their overall popularity, so our goal is not to tut-tut anyone for having strong preferences for one character over the others, but rather to explain that you may be surprised by how much *more* you learn about your preferred characters in the other routes. That's all!

For Shae... Well, they were a foot soldier for one of the worst periods of the War. Lore wise, any other story that touches on the War will likely have content relevant to them and their experiences. ^^

Ya know. I spent most of my life with horrible painful soul-crushing social anxiety.

And after about 25 years of continuous hard work, suddenly, people started pointing out - to my utter bafflement - that I had, in fact, achieved my lifelong dream of being charismatic. I'm 29 now; I feel comfortable in most social situations, and it is a very rare person whom I cannot make laugh.

I am, undoubtedly, finally, charismatic.

But do you know what I found?

I found that now that I have an understanding of which social rules serve which functions -- Now that I have an understanding of just how much damage my awkwardness was doing to people, well,

I found that, actually, my awkwardness never really hurt anyone at all. People were just judgmental dicks to me about it.

Now that I have the skill-level to (most of the time) creatively vocalize what is in my head as soon as I think it and without fear, I can confirm once and for all what I had always suspected:

I was worth talking to when I was quiet.

I was worth talking to when I was awkward, and when the words in my head took time and patience to hear, and when most of my jokes didn't land. I was worth talking to the whole time.

So I just... I hope that if you've ever wondered whether you are worth communicating with, the answer is yes. Absolutely yes. Each of us has a soul worth sharing - and if you and I were talking, I would happily wait for you to speak (or communicate in other ways) without condescending, and I would never shame you for that harmless awkwardness that so many people feel the need to violently stomp out.

You are worth talking to. You just are. And you deserve people who will speak to you with kindness, with patience, and with the basic immutable respect owed to all people.

(I talk about this with some frequency, both on tumblr and in real life. At some point, maybe I'll gather all my thoughts on the matter into one post. At some point, I wrote about my personal experience trying to build my social skill. But I felt the need to say at least a little bit tonight after seeing this other lovely post, and I'm glad I did. It will happen again.)

anyway gabi variant whose a reality traveller like wishi. she travels the same way wishi does (through portals but sometimes they kinda just phase in and out bc it's funny) except she's also able to dream-walk through realities.

(no super real visual differences between her and the usual csm gabi's. she just doesn't have the abnormal traits (ahoge, eye rings, and the line down her spine. though i'm contemplating letting her keep the ahoge bc it's cute. visual difference is because this gabi never needed wishi to give her powers, she kinda just spawned in with them 🙇🏽‍♀️)

she has a silly "meet-cute" kind of thing w/ denji after accidentally going into his dream while she slept normally. they meet each other more often in his dreams and they start falling in love w/ one another; denji thinks she's literally his dream girl (but also in a metaphorical sense because she is, in a way, his dream girl) while gabi knows the truth and just doesn't correct him. 🔽🔽

they do end up meeting irl after gabi actually travels to his reality while trying to escape something else. she kinda just gets spit out via portal into his kitchen in the middle of breakfast lowkey and denji goes "omg it's my dream gf !!! whaght is she doing in my kitchen ..." and she goes "...." cause she hit her head on the counter so she's outta there @-@

sorry for being unable to stop posting. i have a disease called "caring too much" and its incurable etc. part of why i am so struck by motr and the things i didnt enjoy about it is because the problems it has are not ones that i had expected! i figured, yknow, fbg exclusively makes really wordy Interactive Fiction. a visual novel seems like a really natural fit! hell you dont even need to change all that much from FL, just add sprites of the characters on the screen with the text and make the dialogue explicit instead of implied

so like... howd this happen..... i was bracing for what i knew to be common problems i have in FBG's games (like that the only larger bodies you encounter are either on manual laborers like the clay men, or characters who are rich/greedy/evil, like milton, or the fact that they dont have much interest in historical accuracy, seeming to prefer just getting the vibe of "vaguely 19th century" with the occasional interesting historical tidbit, the fact that they always overstate how customizable your character is, so you can imagine whatever background for your character that you want, but the game will explicitly say you speak "the queen's english", etc) so the fact that it feels like they wrote a bunch of unconnected stories and didnt give me enough time to see any of them through to the end really came out of left field. thats not one of the ones i thought to watch out for!!!!
