CHAPTER 14 — CHOICES
Tumblr media
Every beat in Niragi's chest was nervous. Nothing could hold him back anymore.
He had a terrible headache, which no medicine seemed to be able to cure. He didn't know how long it had been since he had slept, but he didn't even want to think about it. Niragi was alone, more alone than he had ever been before. In fact, it had been a while since he had felt like this. And it was scary, terrifying.
Yet you were right there, in front of him, only inches away. But your eyes were closed, already in an almost deep sleep. The sound of your heavy breathing echoed through the room to Niragi's ears, and he couldn't erase the infernal memory of the heart game from his mind. He had his fingers on the trigger, and he could see your face twisting with apprehension. He had fired, and your body had burst on the floor in a pool of blood.
It was quiet, the room was silent, and yet he could hear himself screaming, his hoarse voice ringing in his ears. The pain that gripped his heart was too much to bear.
Niragi had never seen so much blood before. It was impressive and he didn't like it. He had always hated the sight of blood, as far back as he could remember. It hadn't gotten any better growing up, even with the almost daily sight of his own every time he fought one of his high school bullies who had followed him to college.
He was slumped in the battered hotel room chair, elbows on the armrests as he absently played with that hunting knife he'd kept from the game of clubs. He turned the blade over and over between his fingers, making the blade scrape against his skin, almost to the point of cutting. His hands were still stained with your blood, dried, which draped his forearms with an aura even more threatening than his eternal scowl.
But his eyes were fixed on you, asleep on the bed.
You had your arms by your side, sleeping peacefully with your shirt off. The bandage that Chishiya had made was already soaked with blood, and Niragi had to change them before you could sleep. It was not an easy task, but he managed to do it.
Your face looked so calm, far from all the torment that was currently going on in Niragi's head. He hated this world with all his being.
If he had ever been asked, he would have said loud and clear that he would rather die than have to shoot you, threatening your existence between life and death. It was an inconceivable idea to him, an impossibility such that he would never for a second have doubted his own loyalty.
And yet.
And yet, here we were. In that moment, if there was one thing Niragi hated more than the reason you were here, it was his own self. It was ironic, because he had spent so many years learning to love himself again, to enjoy life again, to appreciate the little moments of everyday life, only to have it all shattered into a million pieces in the space of one little second.
He hated himself for that. It was the truth.
Niragi jumped to his feet. He knew he shouldn't leave you alone for a second, but he had something important to do. It may not have been more important than watching over you to make sure you made it through the night, but it deserved a lot of attention just the same.
Discreetly so as not to wake you up, he closed the bedroom door with a heavy click that he insulted under his breath. Niragi knew very well what he looked like. He was stained with blood, your blood, and he most certainly looked like a serial killer straight out of an American television show. The sound of music echoed through the walls of the hotel, the eternal party that went on every night at The Beach was making Niragi's headache worse.
He had to take matters into his own hands. It was one thing to steal a machine gun from an executive to get taken seriously, but he had to step up his game. This was crucial.
Reaching the top of the stairs that led to the hotel pool, Niragi scanned the crowd of players dancing, laughing, and drinking before his eyes. Many were returning from their own arena, looking for plenty of alcohol to take their minds off the nightmare they were in. The others were already either drunk or stoned, but Niragi didn't try to join them for a second.
Laughter could be heard in his ears, girls singing at the top of their lungs to the music, and most of all, the few worried looks of those who had noticed him. Obviously, he ignored each of them, studying the crowd to find what he had come for.
"Hey, it's you, I recognize you," a voice came to his ears. A small, shy, unwelcoming voice that belonged to a young man with glasses, hair brushed ridiculously to the side.
Niragi ignored it, he had no time for whoever it was. Not only did he have better things to do, he had to get back to watching you as soon as possible. Girls were jumping into the pool laughing, or maybe they had been pushed by teasing boys looking to hit on them in a completely cheesy way.
"My arm still hurts, but I think it should be fine. I have a girl friend who helped me stitch it up. She did two years as a caregiver in a nursing home. It's not much, but at least she was able to help me," the youngster laughed shyly, scratching the back of his head absently at Niragi's total indifference.
He was rolling his eyes internally, annoyed by this guy who was getting on his nerves. He tried to disregard every word that came out of his mouth, but that little voice was piercing his eardrums too unpleasantly to continue ignoring it.
"How... How's your girlfriend? She saved my life and I hope that Chishiya was able to —"
Niragi's head snapped back to him so quickly that he was a second away from breaking his neck. How could he have forgotten? It was that young man with whom he had shared the game of hearts, the one who had shot himself in the bicep. The same boy who had helped him bring you back here, and who had gone to get Chishiya for him.
Niragi should thank him for that. He should offer him a smile and tell him that you were fine, that you weren't out of the woods yet but that he believed that you would be fine, and that you would make it. But Niragi's eyes did not transgress anything more than the usual aggressiveness he showed all the time.
The young man had interrupted his sentence in front of this imposing look. No more sound came out of his mouth because Niragi had been quick to block his hand against the boy's mouth, preventing him from uttering a single word. He had dragged him a little further onto the terrace, not completely out of sight, but enough to find some privacy. The back of the young man was facing Niragi's chest, so that he could not see his face, impossible for him to struggle.
Instantly, the other player's eyes widened with fear, afraid of having upset Niragi. He might not have heard of Niragi's antics around The Beach yet, but he would soon know what he was capable of. He tried to scream under Niragi's hand which blocked his mouth with force.
The music was far too loud to really attract anyone's attention, but Niragi reassured him all the same, "Shh, shh, calm down, calm down." The young man's frantic gaze glared at him apprehensively, and he was right.
Niragi had much more strength than he did, fortunately. If he hadn't, it would have been difficult for him to block the boy and reach that particular hunting knife that he had hidden in his pants pocket again.
"You know, Chishiya has a secret," Niragi whispered in his ear, and if the boy tried to struggle, it was futile against Niragi's strength around him. He brought the knife to his prey's throat, pressing the blade down hard enough to immobilize him. Niragi knew he would not attempt to struggle for fear of the knife going down his throat. "And Chishiya wouldn't like his secret to get out."
Niragi knew that what the young man was trying to mumble under his hand could most likely mean that he was swearing he wouldn't tell anyone. That he swore to forget about this game and that he wasn't looking for trouble, that Chishiya's secret would be safe and that he would never, ever dare to tell anyone.
Niragi believed that. He knew that this player would not risk anything.
But Niragi would not risk anything either. He had no mercy for anyone in this world, except for you. And you were the reason why he was acting like this, here. You were the only one that made him do all those things he never thought he could do before. It was all about you, and protecting you. There was no going back, anyway. It had to be done for you. To protect you.
So he pressed that blade deep into that young man's throat. He sliced through the carotid artery with great force, but it sank into the skin like butter. Blood spurted everywhere and mixed with the dry blood on Niragi's hands. The boy's body convulsed for a few moments before he collapsed to the ground with a loud noise.
Lifeless, with empty eyes, the dead silhouette of the slain player laid on the ground. Niragi breathed out an insult, catching his breath. "'Fuckin' hell,' it didn't feel so good to take another life, but here was a collateral damage he had no choice but to take.
Niragi shook his hands to drain the blood which had soaked him. It was then that he noticed something, there, locked between the fingers of his victim. A small white card, the five of hearts. It was easy for Niragi to retrieve the card, and as he examined it, he wondered if this player had come here to give it to the Hatter before interrupting himself to chat with him.
A small gasp was heard behind him, and when Niragi looked over his shoulder, he came upon a young girl. Hand over her mouth, eyes wide, skin livid. "What the fuck are you looking at?"
The girl ran off, afraid of receiving the same fate as the poor boy. Niragi shook his head, he could have laughed at the girl's reaction, if it wasn't for all the blood that was starting to pool on his hands.
He knew that what he had just done would quickly enrich his little reputation, and he would not hide from it. If Niragi went to such lengths to make himself feared and respected, it was certainly not to deny everything he could be accused of. Guilty, that he was.
When his eyes finally found the thing he had come here for too, Niragi passed the crowd of dancers without caring if he was jostling them or stepping on their feet. He twirled the card between his fingers before slamming it with the palm of his hand hard on the wood of the coffee table.
Empty and half-filled glasses shook at the impact, but no incident occurred. The Hatter didn't even look up for a second, too absorbed by the lips of a barely grown-up girl who was devouring his lips.
The Hatter was sitting on one of those benches near the pool with exactly four girls in swimsuits around him. They were all rushing to pamper him; a massage, kisses on the neck and Niragi wouldn't be surprised if one of them started sucking him off, right there and then.
He had discovered that it wasn't very harmless to come across exhibitionists here, as the laws of the real world had been taken away from them. There were no limits, no shame, no rules.
Niragi took place in front of the Hatter, ignoring the intrigued look of the chicks who were sticking to him. At first, he didn't make himself noticed, but as he placed his knife on the coffee table with a thud, the Hatter finally turned his head towards what interrupted him. "Niragi," he began, caressing the buttocks of the girl to his left, "How do you like the Beach so far? You like it, I hope?"
A smile tugged at the corner of Niragi's lips. No, he couldn't say he liked it here, or even this world for that matter. He hated everything about this country, every blade of grass, every wall and corner of the city. Every wild animal, every game and every arena. He hated the other players just as much. Every man, every woman and that fucking Hatter.
He moved the five of hearts card a little closer to the Hatter with two bloody fingers, before bringing his elbows back to his knees, looking serious and grim.
When his eyes landed on the five little red hearts, the Hatter broke free of his embrace with those girls to better examine the card. A very wide smile appeared on his face while Niragi remained unmoved. "This is amazing! You don't know how rare hearts are around here..."
The Hatter's enthusiasm was exactly what Niragi was looking for. He knew that this card would more than hold up to the threats he was about to say, once again. "From now on, [Y/N] and I are executives." His tone was firm, commanding, and the Hatter's smile faded. "You want to be number one, whatever. Aguni is your number two, I'm fine with that. But from now on, [Y/N] will be number three, and I will be number four."
Hatter said nothing. In fact, he was so stunned by Niragi's audacity that he froze like a statue. No one here had ever dared to speak to him like that before.
"You can tell anyone after your list that they've been demoted," Niragi continued in a stern voice, looking far too comfortable for what was coming out of his mouth. The Hatter was gazing at Niragi's bloody forearms, almost unimpressed by the scarlet color.
It was now something familiar to see blood in this world. Some games required no sacrifice, others required a lot. It didn't matter to the Hatter whose blood it was, as long as the five of hearts card was brought back to him.
Niragi's good faith had been proven, just by that. His loyalty and total devotion to the Beach was represented in this small white card that the Hatter hastened to secure in the pocket of his bathing suit.
The Hatter could trust him - well, as much as he could. Niragi was not a trustworthy man, but for now, he would have to make do. Niragi slumped into the cushions behind him, taking a comfortable seat by resting his feet on the small table in front of him.
He had finished his little monologue, finished his threats and what he expected from the leader of The Beach, but he wanted to push his arrogance a little longer. Just to make sure he was understood. "I have something to offer you too, Niragi."
What Niragi had asked was anything but a proposal, but still, he sketched an inviting smile, without saying a word. If the Hatter had something to offer him, so be it. He was (almost) never closed to listen to anything, that didn't block him in any way. It did not force him to do anything.
Hatter disentangled himself from the girls' embrace, straightening his back as he approached Niragi a little closer. "This morning... I caught a few gamblers trying to collect cards on their own." Niragi tilted his head, intrigued. "So I decided to create a third rule for The Beach: death for all traitors."
Now that was something Niragi was interested in. Every less player in this world was one less competitor. He was quickly getting used to the idea that violence was the only currency in this world, and that anything was needed to survive here. Murder, assault, brutality, torture. Name it, he was not afraid of anything.
"Aguni is putting together a team of activists to keep order here. I propose you to be his second man. You will be... the second in command of the second in command!" Hatter burst out laughing at these last words, truly amused by the quip he had just made. Niragi wasn't amused in the least, but he needed to know a little more about this proposal before he knew if it was futile or brilliant.
"And what's in it for me?" Niragi asked with a raised eyebrow. He was not an easy man to impress, let alone bribe.
"You'll have access to the armory," The Hatter knew full well what those words implied, no matter how Niragi literally licked his lips. "And your duty will be... shall we say... to keep order. Do you think you are capable of that task?"
Oh, Niragi was more than capable. He had been ready for this for a long time, since the moment he had set foot in this world. From the moment he had understood the difficulty with which he had to survive. It was a dangerous game. So very dangerous. And Niragi was rubbing his hands in anticipation, he could feel the metal of those weapons under his fingers already quivering.
Niragi's smile did not fade for a second. On the contrary, it grew until it reached his ears. Of course this proposal was tempting. Anyone would be a fucking idiot to refuse it.
"You'll be number four, if that's important to you, and your girlfriend will be number three, fine. You'll be free to kill whoever you want...punch whoever you want, all of it. You can fuck whoever you want, I don't give a fuck. You'll just have to answer to Aguni and follow his orders, okay?" Hatter held out his hand towards Niragi, waiting for him to seal their arrangement with a handshake.
Niragi looked at that hand for a second, before rising from his seat to catch it between his fingers. Firmly, he shook. "Deal."
It was done. Niragi almost had full power, it was real now. He didn't need it, but it would make his task of conquering The Beach easier. He didn't really care, but his devotion to getting you out of here as quickly as possible remained his number one priority.
Hatter grimaced at the feel of blood on his fingers, wiping his hands in disgust against the pillows beside him. The girls around resumed their work as soon as he found his place at the bottom of the cushions again, new kisses on his neck and caresses on his naked chest.
Niragi, him, took back the knife of the coffee table, and without addressing any more interest, he left. Anyway, the Hatter had already forgotten about him, diving too deeply into the prominent tits of one of the girls. Again, he crossed the crowd of dancers, pushing anyone who wouldn't let him pass.
He still had that unbearable headache that the loud music didn't help. But Niragi ignored what was pounding his brain to concentrate on his path. At the bottom of the stairs, he froze. Chishiya stood straight and proud at the top of the terrace, a clean sweatshirt and that condescending look still stuck to his unbearable face.
When their eyes met, it would have been impossible for anyone to decipher what was going on between them. Chishiya's eyes shone with a dreadful malice, something hostile in the way he stood. Back straight, hands in the pockets of his sweatshirt (why was he always in a sweatshirt when it was the middle of August?!) and of course, this little sneer on his lips that could mirror the one that Niragi was so often wearing.
Niragi, on the other hand, was burning with an agonizing uncertainty. He didn't like Chishiya, he didn't like him in the least. He hated him down to his ridiculous blond hair, even though he had just saved your life.
Niragi walked up the few steps of the terrace, and stopped at the other man's level. There wasn't really a war of ego going on, but a battle of arrogance. The way Chishiya looked at Niragi with raised eyebrows made him tense. Every muscle in his body tightened, every fiber and every nerve burned with the desire to harm this man.
Niragi grabbed in the back pocket of his jeans his smashed cigarette pack. He pulled out one that was much more beaten up than he was and raised it to his lips. After only three tries, his lighter ignited and the flame burned the end of the cigarette. Still without breaking their eye contact, Niragi inhaled strongly and released the smoke on Chishiya's nose.
This was pure and proper provocation.
But Chishiya didn't say anything, not a sound came out of his mouth and Niragi went on his way, not without giving him a last threatening look. It was so hard not to succumb to the urge to rip his face off. He could do it, if he wanted to. He knew that very well. But for now, as long as you weren't out of trouble yet, he would need him in case there was any complication.
Chishiya wouldn't want to interfere with your recovery any longer, but Niragi was sure that a new death threat would help him change his mind.
When Niragi returned to the hotel room and closed the door with the same thud as when he left, you were still sleeping. He had stubbed out the end of his cigarette on the hallway carpet, uninterested in smoking inside or defacing hotel equipment.
Your eyes were deeply closed, and you hadn't moved a muscle. Your ribcage was slowly rising and falling with each breath, and Niragi was trying not to crack the wood hidden by the carpet under his feet.
Niragi approached the bed slowly, and he suddenly had the urge to caress every inch of your body. To hold you so tightly in his arms and feel the beat of your heart against his chest. Everything had happened so fast, the night had been so long and so short at the same time. It was a strange feeling, as if time was no longer running properly.
But with his hands still full of blood, it was impossible for him to be able to do any of this. "W-where —?" Your shaky voice filled his ears. Too immersed in his thoughts, he hadn't noticed your eyes flashing open, or even the way you were trying to get up with difficulty.
"Shh, what are you doing? Lie down, are you out of your mind or what?" Niragi pushed you back against the cushions of the bed, ignoring the feeble strength with which you had tried to get up. He shrugged off your question, instead pulling the blanket back over your legs that had moved with you. "You need to rest, where are you trying to go like this?"
It was a question he didn't want answered, he didn't want to force you to talk for nothing. On the contrary, he wanted to preserve you as much as possible. Your wound was still far too fresh to do anything.
On your side, it was too frustrating not to be able to talk and ask him the thousand questions that were bothering your brain. And the fatigue was so great, as if weakness had taken over your whole body. Every movement was so difficult to make, every breath seemed impossible and just blinking your eyes required immeasurable strength.
Not to mention the pain of your wound that could make you forget your own name. It was only slightly better than when the bullet was still lodged in it, and yes, the painkillers had made quite a bit of improvement but it was still so painful that you couldn't ignore the damn curse.
In turn, you didn't answer the question that Niragi had asked. It didn't matter, it didn't really deserve an answer anyway. You rested on the not very soft pillow, already annoyed by the little strength you had. Your eyelids were heavy, so heavy, but as Niragi slumped back into the broken armchair at the foot of the bed, your eyes fell on his hands.
Niragi followed your gaze, and sighing, he said wearily, "Yes, I know, I'll go take a shower." He looked exhausted, as if he too, somehow, had no strength left. He had rested his head on his right hand, which was leaning on the armrest, rubbing his forehead with pain, his eyes closed.
It was a miracle what he had managed to do. Keeping you alive all the way to The Beach was impossible, but somehow he had done it. When your number had appeared on the big screen, back in the game, and the second image had stopped on the belly, your heart could have given out.
You knew that a wound like that was fatal, and that no one could survive it without quick medical attention. But you didn't know how, you were there after all. Back in this shitty world, and forced to survive to get your old life back.
So Chishiya had agreed to help you. It was a desperate choice, after all, to ask for his help. Chishiya was not someone who was willing to help others immediately, despite his background as a doctor. He was selfish, narcissistic and despised everyone around him. That was the main reason your small history didn't work out.
Oh yes, it was so long ago. Was it really a story at all? Maybe it was just a fling, or a crush, you wouldn't even know how to describe it. A romance, maybe. Whatever it was, it was so long ago that you couldn't give it any importance, whatever it was.
If only Niragi wasn't snooping around the stuff that was hurting him.
///////////>/>/>>>>>>/>/>//>/>/>/>/>>>>/>>>>/
I know, I know, this chapter a little smaller but it was necessary to make my transition!
So… so… Well Chishiya would be an ex-boyfriend but the story doesn't revolve around that, you told me you didn't want a love triangle On the other hand, I need him to feed Niragi's jealousy and add to the suspense of the story
Well, let's get to work on the next chapter now!

genre: FLUFFFLUFFFLUFF <333
warnings: NONE I THINK!!
sypnosis: headcanons of alice in borderland characters confessing to you.
author's note: did i disappear after just one aouad imagine then appear again with an alice in borderland obsession? yes i did. 😁😁😁😁 !not proofread!
――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――
ryohei arisu
RYOHEI ARISU WOULD BE HEAD OVER HEELS FOR YOU. ONLY YOU.
he's definitely that kind of person to hide his feelings because he's scared of rejection
so that means he's the type to not make the first move at all CONSIDERING HE'S A SHY BB!!!!!!!
BUT BUT BUT HE'LL PROBABLY GROW FED UP OF YOU NOT GETTING THE HINT OF HIS UNDYING LOVE FOR YOU
SO IT WOULD LEAD TO HIM FINALLY CONFESSING AAAAAAAAAAA
arisu would probably be anxious the whole time 😭😭😭😭 like shaking, sweaty palms, stuttering, uncontrollable laughter, etc
HE WOULD PROBABLY CONFESS AT A PICNIC OR SOMETHING SIMILAR <333
he would try his best to cook all of your favorite foods even though he sucks at cooking💪💪
he would buy a bouquet of your favorite flowers!!!!!!!!
OH AND HE WOULD ALSO WRITE A LETTER WHERE HE PUTS 100 FUCKING REASONS WHY HE LOVES YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
he's the type to prepare cue cards because he know he would fumble while he confesses
LIKE HE PROBABLY PREPARED A WHOLE ASS SPEECH BUT THERE WOULD BE A MOMENT WHEN HE JUST STARES AT YOU AND REALIZE HOW MUCH HE LOVES YOU WHICH KIND OF LEADS HIM TO JUST SAYING A SIMPLE "i love you"
yuzuha usagi
YUZUHA USAGI WOULD ONLY HAVE YOU AS HER WEAKNESS.
she's someone who has always been fearless, bold, and etc🙀🙀🙀 SO WHEN SHE STARTS TO HAVE FEELINGS FOR YOU, OFC SHE FEELS CONFLICTED OR CONFUSED
probably because she's strong and you making her flustered meant her downfall😁😁
she wasn't complaining though
USAGI WOULDN'T TAKE LONG TO CONTEMPLATE HER FEELINGS FOR YOU THO
if she liked you, then she liked you :)))
AND SHE WOULDN'T BE SCARED OF CONFESSING AT ALL BUT SHE WOULD STILL HAVE HER DOUBTS
doubts that chased her every time she went for a run or climbed a mountain‼️‼️‼️
SHE WOULD PROBABLY BRING YOU TO HER FAVORITE MOUNTAIN BEFORE THE SUN COMES UP
AND SHE WOULD INVITE YOU TO SIT ON THE GROUND AS THE SUN CRACKS LIKE AN EGG YOLK IN THE SKY
she won't even realize that you have already lied your head against her shoulder
AND THAT'S WHAT TRIGGERS HER TO SAY SHE HAS FEELINGS FOR YOU
shuntaro chishiya
chishiya is chishiya. self explanatory. <3
HE WOULD BE IN DENIAL FOR THE LONGEST TIMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.
he will not want to accept the fact that he fell for someone since he has the master manipulator factors and all💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯
but you were an exception ;)))
he would practically go from being a logical person to a carefree one for you LIKE HE DOESN'T CARE ABOUT THINGS WHEN HE'S WITH YOU BECAUSE YOU MAKE HIM FORGET THINGS WORTH WORRYING (and as much as he hates to admit you make him happy)
he would act cold, tease you 25/8 just to cover up the fact he has feelings for you
HE WOULD PROBABLY CONFESS BY HIDING ENVELOPES THAT HELD RIDDLES OR CLUES FOR YOU TO FIND
AND THOSE ENVELOPES WOULD LEAD YOU TO WHERE YOU FIRST MET
he knew you were clever enough to solve them :)
he would stand there waiting while he was wearing a suit that made him itch (BUT HE WOULD REMEMBER THE TIME YOU SAID MEN IN SUITS WERE ATTRACTIVE)
he would also have shampooed and conditioned hair for effort🙏🙏🙏🔥🔥🔥
AND A SIMPLE "i may or may not have feelings for you" WOULD HAVE SUFFICED AS HIS CONFESSION
hikari kuina
YOU WOULD BE HIKARI KUINA'S SOFT SPOT.
she would be too scared to be rejected by you because she didn't want to ruin your friendship
but she would still be confident on confessing #kuinathingzzzzzz
PROBABLY BECAUSE SHE WANTED TO PROVE SHE WAS BRAVE-
SHE WOULD CONFESS BY CHALLENGING YOU
LIKE SHE WOULD INVITE YOU TO FIGHT HER FOR 5 ROUNDS BECAUSE SHE TOLD YOU SHE HAD A SECRET THAT YOU COULD ONLY FOUND OUT IF U WON AGAINST HER.
spoiler: she loses to you on purpose because she knows how much you hate losing😍😍😍😍
SHE LOVED WINNING BUT SHE WOULD DO ANYTHING FOR YOU TO HAVE A SMILE ON YOUR FACE
her being the reason for a smile on your face made her weak🙏🙏🙏🙏
she would also give u a prize for winning <333
EITHER A RING, A NECKLACE, OR A BRACELET
AND SHE WAS THE ONE TO MAKE THEM BY HAND WITH BEADS
although it frustrsted her, she knew it would make you smile
"i love you . . . like so much."
suguru niragi
admit it. suguru nigari will not catch feelings for anyone at all.
unless it's you ofc😍😍😍😍🙏🙏🙏🙏
BUT HE HATED THE FEELING
HE HATED HOW MUCH HE GREW FOND OF YOU
HE HATED HOW YOU MADE HIM BLUSH, FEEL BUTTERFLIES FLUTTERING IN HIS STOMACH, GROW A SMIRK INTO A SMILE, AND MORE.
he would also be confused about his feelings since he's niragi😆😆😆😆
LET'S BE HONEST BECAUSE THIS MAN IS STUBBORN ASF AND WILL NOT CONFESS AT ALL.
he would probably drop big ass hints to wait for you to confess
BUT YOU WOULDN'T GET ANYTHING WHICH CAUSES HIM TO BE ANNOYED
AND SOON ENOUGH
"fuck it, i like you, dumbass."

- as you were about to pull away kuina pulled you back in and you completely forgot about the girl as you made out with your pleased girlfriend
- after you finally managed to pull away you noticed that the girl had left but you didn’t really care as you wrapped your legs around kuina’s waist to continue your make out session
- after that experience kuina kept you away from the girl that would occasionally sent you flirty smiles but she would always stop once she saw your girlfriend with her arm around you
mira kano —
- you were sitting on mira’s lap as you fed her strawberries with a smile until a guy that you played a game with recently walked over to you shyly
- mira’s smile fell from her face as the boy handed you a bouquet of flowers, his reasoning being that he was thankful that you saved him during your last game
- her grip on your waist tightened as you awkwardly took the bouquet but he didn’t leave as you had expected
- instead he sat down while your girlfriend eyed him carefully
- he started talking to you about how he couldn’t stop thinking about you and even when you told him you were dating mira he wouldn’t back down
- fortunately you were finally able to convince him to leave after ten minutes
- mira noticed how bothered you felt afterwards so she made sure to distract you all day long by kissing you sweetly in your room or by doing each other’s hair
- when it became night mira sneaked out of your shared room while you were sleeping to set the guy up by placing a few cards that she managed to get a hold of underneath his bed
- then she went to hatter to inform him of the ‘traitor’ and he immediately send aguni and his militants after him
- while the militants tortured and killed the man cruelly, mira was watching everything what they did to him through the surveillance cameras with a sadistic and crazed smile on her face
- by the time you woke up the next morning mira was peacefully sleeping next to you and the man that had been flirting with you was long dead
morizono aguni —
- you and aguni were sitting at a table outside when a beautiful girl approached you with a charming smile
- she’d ask you if she could take a seat next to you while aguni was sitting across from you with a questioning gaze wondering whether you knew her or not
- after you told her that she could with a kind smile hers grew slightly before she sat down closely beside you so your bare thighs were touching
- the girl talked to you for thirty minutes straight while completely ignoring aguni which didn’t really bother him
- that is until she started complimenting you endlessly with seductive eyes
- her hands grazed your thighs and if aguni wasn’t as observing as he was he wouldn’t have noticed
- after having realised that she was flirting with you he’d watch your reactions closely with clenched fists and gritted teeth while glaring at her but when he saw that you were awkwardly smiling at her while blushing madly he got slightly upset
- but he’s impressed she hasn’t backed off yet as he glared at her
- he’d make up some excuse that the two of you had to leave and before you could even properly say goodbye to her he pulled his arm around you before leading you away
- you would be slightly confused as to what was happening but aguni reassured you that he just wanted to leave
- you didn’t question him and now anytime the girl was around, aguni would make sure that she was as far away from you as possible
- the next time she would try and hit on you aguni would send one of his militants after her in a way that you would never know that he was the one to kill her
rizuna ann —
- when you started dating ann you realised that if you wanted to spend some time with your girlfriend you had to be around her workplace a lot
- after a while ann noticed that you were always discarding your job as bartender just to be with her and she felt slightly bad so she told you that she’ll try and visit the bar more often even though she didn’t like being surrounded by drunk idiots
- but she knew she had to make some sacrifices to make your relationship work so she did exactly what she told you she would
- she swiftly moved through the sweaty bodies to make her way towards you when she noticed a man sitting on one of the barstools
- she wouldn’t have thought anything of it if he wasn’t there everyday staring at you while telling you some shitty pickup lines
- you hadn’t noticed your girlfriend yet as you talked to him while mixing a drink for some girl
- ann silently creeped up behind you before she wrapped her arm around your waist and burying her head in your neck while you let out a laugh at your girlfriend’s unusual amount of public affection
- the man glared at your girlfriend as she kissed your neck while staring right into his eyes with a flicker of amusement in her eyes
- when she pulled away there were multiple red marks left which was either her lipstick or fresh hickeys
- during the whole evening ann managed to piss the man off in every possible way by raising her brow temptingly while she kissed you or by ‘accidentally’ stepping on his foot with her heel
- after that you never saw the man again
ryohei arisu —
- you were eating with a group of friends that tatta introduced to you while arisu held your hand beneath the table as he ate
- he noticed one of the guys constantly staring at your lips which made him frown slightly before he shuffled closer to you
- after a while the guy called your name which caught your attention and told you that there was some food on your lip
- you tried to get it off but it seemed like you kept missing it
- the guy reached over the table to clean your lip with his thumb while staring intensely into your eyes which made arisu scoff
- he wrapped his arm around your waist and he pulled you into him while the guy glared at him
- you noticed that your boyfriend’s mood dampened so you quickly stood up while dragging him to your shared room entirely ignoring the guy that called after you
- when you’d get to your room you’ll both sit down on the bed while he played with your fingers
- you’d ask him whether he was jealous and he’d blush while shaking his head softly
- a smile spread across your face at your boyfriend’s shyness before you wrapped your arms around his neck and peppered his face with kisses
- he’s blushing so hard omg
- when you calmed down he’ll kiss you longingly while pressing your entire body into his
- the rest of the day was spend on your room and anytime arisu saw the guy that tried to flirt with you he’ll pull you away with some lame excuse
shuntaro chishiya —
- you were lounging outside as you waited for your boyfriend while he was in an executive meeting when your friend approached you with a flirty smile
- chishiya had told you that he didn’t like her because she flirted with you but you were completely oblivious to it and told him that’s just how she’s always been
- so he wasn’t very pleased when he saw her practically grinding her hips subtly into your lap while doing your makeup
- chishiya noticed that she was wearing a very revealing bikini that showed her cleavage off and he was sure that she wore it specifically for you which ticked him slightly off
- your boyfriend slowly strolled towards your lounge chair as you rambled to her about some movie that you watched before the borderlands while she smiled and nodded
- when you noticed chishiya standing next to you, you almost jumped off the chair with a happy smile which warmed his heart slightly
- he barely looked at your friend and pushed her away from you to kiss you gently on your lips which angered her slightly
- chishiya swore he could see smoke coming from her ears when he ‘accidentally’ spilled his drink on her white bikini that she had put on for you before pulling you into his lap
- when you had worriedly asked her whether she needed help your boyfriend cut your friend off by telling you that she was old enough to look after herself
- the girl had no other choice then to leave but not before glaring at the smirking man that was playing with your hair
- later on chishiya made sure she didn’t survive the next game she played with him while never directly killing her
suguru niragi —
- niragi often whined that you should have a little more fun at the beach so when your friend asked you whether you wanted to go dancing with her tonight you agreed
- your boyfriend was playing games tonight and you had still some visa over and so did your friend
- when you arrived at the dance floor there weren’t many people because most of them had left for the games but you liked it more this way
- after dancing for a while you decided that you needed a break from the sweaty people that were constantly moving around you so you sat down on a high chair that gave you a clear look of the room
- you noticed that people were returning from their games and your eyes couldn’t help but wander towards where the dj stood
- he was a man about your age and you knew that he was a pretty decent guy so you made your way over to him to ask him about how he did his job
- the guy was very funny and offered to teach you the basic skills of a dj which you excitedly accepted
- when niragi returned from his game he was ready to see you somewhere around waiting for him but he was upset when he didn’t see you
- your boyfriend looked for you in your shared room and the pool before he found your friend and demanded from them to know where you were
- with a trembling voice she explained to him that you should be somewhere on the dance floor which surprised niragi slightly
- he scoffed at your scared friend before he dashed off to find you
- the look on his face when he saw you laughing with a man at the dj booth was terrifying to the people around him and they all quickly scrambled away from him
- his riffle was the first thing you saw as he pointed it to your new friend who was both shocked and horrified
- you looked at niragi only to see him glaring coldly at the man
- you tried to convince him not to kill your friend and eventually you managed to coax your boyfriend by kissing him and telling him all kinds of sweet things
- after that niragi dragged you away from him and you spend every waking hour beside him for the next week
- unfortunately your friend ‘died’ during the next game but niragi won’t admit to doing anything
takatora samura —
- on the ride to a game arena a girl sat down next to you while your boyfriend sat in the front passenger seat
- he didn’t think anything of it but when he saw that her face was inches from yours with a flirty smile on her lips he was sure that she was trying to hit on you
- samura didn’t say anything even though his grip on his sword tightened and just watched you nervously decline the pretty girl who was very persistent
- she giggled loudly when she put your hand against hers to compare your hand sizes, which made no sense to your boyfriend before she intertwined her fingers with yours
- you nervously chuckled while scratching the back of your head not knowing what to do while samura watched you suffer quietly
- then the girl proceed to twirl your hair around her finger for the whole ride and tell you corny pick-up lines that made you laugh awkwardly
- but samura totally felt like banging his head against the car door when the girl next to you let out an obnoxious loud giggle when you sneezed before she told you that it sounded cute which only made you blush harder
- your boyfriend couldn’t be happier when you finally arrived at the arena before pulling you away from the girl with an unfaltering gaze
- when she saw your intimidating boyfriend staring holes into her head while holding his sword tightly she stopped her attempts to charm you and tried to avoid him as much as she could
- but during the spades game he swiftly sliced her throat while you were distracted, ending her life effortlessly
- after that occurrence the people that were also in your car spread the word that samura had killed a girl because she flirted with you
- now your boyfriend is the only person allowed to flirt with you
yuzuha usagi —
- the two of you were walking around the beach while holding hands when a guy accidentally ran into you
- you’re forced to let go of her hand when you fall down with the man following right after
- your eyes widen as you notice that his face is inches from yours and it doesn’t look like he’s planning on moving away until you let out an awkward cough
- the man crawled off of you while usagi worriedly helped you up, making sure that you didn’t get hurt
- after he composed himself he apologised endlessly, telling you that it had been an accident and you forgave him quickly
- he shyly smiled at you before introducing himself to you entirely ignoring usagi which made her frown shortly
- you introduced yourself before you introduced usagi as your girlfriend but you noticed her smile fall slightly as he dismissively nodded at her, keeping his attention on you
- when he was about to say something else you quickly made up some excuse that the two of you had to leave before you dragged usagi away
- you immediately reassured her that there was something wrong with him and that it had nothing to do with her which made her smile slightly at you
- but usagi felt like he was everywhere you went which angered her slightly
- when she confronted him he told her that she was exaggerating and being paranoid before harshly bumping into her shoulder as he left
- later that evening you noticed your girlfriend’s dampened mood so you tried to make her happy by spending the whole day together making her forget about the man

He thought giving you a few hours of space would be the best choice so you could cool your head after the heated argument. Much to ARISU's horror, he no longer found your pillow on your side of the bed along with the blanket, his pillow left all alone on the bed.
"Hey" he murmurs, standing behind you even though he knew you wouldn't face him. "I didn't mean anything I told you earlier. I'm sorry." He says.
"Shouldn't have said anything in the first place then." You replied back, removing the couch cushions and replacing it with your pillow.
"Come back to bed now, will you?" He asks, enveloping his arms around your chest, resting his chin on top of your shoulder. "I won't be able to sleep with you. Apart from that, let's talk it out while cuddling in bed, sounds good?"
"What you're doing is really ridiculous and childish." CHISHIYA begins to say, watching you create your own makeshift bed on the couch, annoyed at the fact that despite his multiple attempts to get you to sleep with him in the room, you wouldn't back down.
"Oh really?" You questioned, slipping inside the blanket before laying down, turning your back on him. "The last thing I wanted was for you to call me ridiculous and childish. So, good night!" You bid, closing your eyes afterwards. Hoping that he would leave you alone.
Though you had your eyes closed, you could hear his footsteps on the floor, walking around to turn off the lights in the living room and then slipping himself inside the blanket behind you. Wait what?
"I know you're not asleep yet." He whispers, placing an arm on top of yours, sliding down so he could hold your hand and intertwine his fingers with yours.
"I want to let you know that I'm sorry."
"Babe, she was just a co worker!"
"Didn't looked like only a co worker to me, Suguru."
NIRAGI shuddered upon hearing you address him with his first name. You would always call him any sweet endearment your pretty little head could think of, but never his first name. So upon hearing you call him that, he knew he is doomed.
"Are you going to be for real? I already promised you that I'll put a pillow between us, that I won't cross that line, nor even snore and hog the blanket!" He fires back, placing his hands on top of his hips before raising his hands up besides his head.
"Whatever. Suit yourself." He says, walking away and back into the room you both shared.
Later on that night, you had hoped that Niragi would come for you, beg for you to come back into the room and sleep with him, but he didn't. And so with a heavy heart, you slept.
But the real surprise came in the morning when you found Niragi sleeping on the floor, a pillow under his head while his arms are crossed over his chest.
"I'm going to sleep on the couch tonight. I want to be alone."
Those words that escaped your lips earlier made KARUBE shiver. Arguments rarely happened between the two of you but this one is the first - a first of raising your voices at each other while pointing fingers, putting the blame on either.
Though his mind is clouded with anger earlier, he never meant the words he threw at you. In fact, he hated himself for calling you such names. And now he's found himself laying down behind you on the couch, slipping underneath the blanket.
"I'm sorry, baby." He whisper apologizes, placing a kiss on your shoulder before wrapping his arms around you. "Never meant anything I told you."
"I know, baby." He heard you reply, placing your hands on top of his.
"Let's go to sleep now, yeah? It's cold out here so I'll make sure you're warm."

Imagine finding Niragi after the Beach.
first time writing aib! i haven't written in a while so i was definitely a little rusty, but i'll have more free time from now on so ideally the next ones will be better! warnings: niragi. a drastically unhealthy relationship (of course), niragi slander, burn injuries and gore, guns, problematic grief, mentions of massacre. if you have any triggers i doubt you'd want to even look at this man, apologies. requested by: @nonsocosamett3r3. can't tag, but i hope you see this! for now, aib requests are open! written by: archie support me on ko-fi!
The store was quiet, only tainted by the sound of lit gas heating your ramen and the quiet bubbling of the soup.
Your eyes fixed on the flame like it was magnetic. After the horrors of the Beach, something just drew you to it. That little flame…
Amazing.
Amazing how something so small could grow so big that it would engulf the whole resort. The whole community. Your whole future, and who you'd planned to spend it with.
You’d loved Suguru for so long, even before you’d arrived in this world. You’d vowed to love him as long as you were alive, but that was before he’d given into his brewing internal sickness.
It hurt too hard to think it. It utterly carved your heart to think that his only relief from himself might take fire and flames. The only way to be kind to him would be to let him die, and finally, it came. He was better off dead, and yet... you couldn’t help aching for him.
He was the one person you’d come into this with. The one person you knew you could trust. Even when he was at his worst.
You shook your head. It wouldn’t do to dwell on how he’d protected you from the witch trial. How he’d given you a pistol and told you to hide on the roof. “Wait for me up there,” he’d said, a firm hand on your back to nudge you towards the stairs, his spare pistol pressed into your palms. “Anyone aims at you and they’re dead.”
Even at his worst, his most unhinged, he still took care of you. He was never all ba-
No. Thinking like this would only make it harder. You needed to focus on how he was a murderer, how he was manic, how he embodied all of humanity’s darkest traits. Perhaps then, you could function in this world without him.
A sigh. The cooker’s flame danced before you, and all you could see in your mind was Niragi. How the fire clung to him. How he screamed and thrashed—
You shut the gas off.
No, you couldn’t look at it. The flame.
The spices in the ramen no longer smelled good; they churned your stomach and the burn of suppressed tears sat in your sinuses. Your head dropped into your hands, the heels of your palms pressed to your eyes. You wouldn’t cry over him. He was a murderer. A sadistic, psychopathic, narcissistic—
A clatter behind you.
“Auh, phuck.”
Panic pushed you to your feet, your breath hitched. You’d perched in the homewares aisle with your campfire cooker, and wherever that distorted voice came from was barely two aisles back.
It was so dark, you were so tired, and so many people hated you. Not even through any fault of your own. You didn’t choose to love the most hated man at the Beach. You were an easy target and anyone who recognised you surely wouldn’t hesitate, so you grabbed for the pistol from your belt and readied yourself for an assault. You’d not die at the hands of an angry Beach resident tonight.
Slow footsteps took you through the store, startled every time you heard a grunt or a clash. Someone was rummaging through the shelves and audibly struggling.
The smash of a glass bottle on the floor, then a strained voice. “Phuckin ‘ell.”
You neared the corner of the aisle and peered around, pistol held out before you. You only hoped they couldn’t hear the trembling rattle of your hold on it.
What you saw was inconclusive. Someone with a flashlight held in their mouth, pointed at shelves full of medical wares. They struggled with gathering supplies, knocking them over instead and hissing in pain, but you couldn’t gather a single feature.
This was your chance to strike a new alliance. They were clearly wounded and in no fighting condition, so you could easily best them if you needed to, but… Would it really be worth it to make a connection with someone that may surely hold back your chances in a game?
You had half a mind to turn away, leave them to their own struggling devices-
But the choice was taken. A loud groan and the flashlight dropped from the person’s mouth, clattered to the floor, and rolled a few inches.
The stream of light pointed directly to your shoe and lit up the tip of your weapon.
You might’ve expected the person to be startled with the realisation that they weren’t alone, to stumble back or at least gasp. But instead, you were met with an audible sneer.
“Ah. Gonna kill me?”
The end of your pistol still pointed into the darkness, though you could just barely see the silhouette of your target. And oh, you quivered. Your aim was as fractured as your heart, and you’d never held anyone in place with your aim before. It was clear to see.
A familiar snort. “You couldn’t hit me if you tried.”
Your brows tugged together. Your voice had left you entirely, chest heaving with the growing panic at how this tall figure found no sense of danger in you. And yet, that voice was so…
“S-Suguru?”
“Oh?” A beat of silence, and then a soft, sore laugh. “I taught you better than to tremble, baby.”
You almost dropped the pistol. It couldn’t be. You’d seen him fall off the roof shrouded in flame, and it’d been long days. Death was the only escape for him, and he needed it. But here he was, and you couldn’t help but hope it was true.
You dove for that flashlight to check that your wants hadn’t deceived you and scooped it up to point directly at Niragi to take him in in all his… misery.
Your heart broke. The sound of it was a distraught gasp, instant tears pricking the corners of your eyes. “Suguru…”
His gorgeous skin was rippled with the fusion of the fire. His hair ragged and burnt, chest and arms crimson, raw and leaking with infectious fluids.
His face scrunched with immediate hatred, his voice a pained hiss as he turned away. “Don’t. Don’t you fucking pity me.”
“I’m not-“
“Don’t.”
Ah, this was your Suguru. Blunt and dismissive, hostile even to you, but you knew how to handle him. You didn’t let him see dizzying wave of relief that drowned you, you held back those tears. Even if he was the most hated man in this realm, he was yours. You weren’t alone in this world anymore.
You took a brief moment to breathe and let your head calm before stepping in close, light shining on his arms. The skin had melted, black patches of fabric stuck into his skin, all the way up to his bare torso. But he didn’t like you looking.
He snatched away the light and the next thing you knew, you were blinded. Your eyes squinted against it, blinking, brows tugged together as you tried to seek out his face once more against the light.
A delicate hand to your cheek, a soft sigh. That was the sound of lazy Sunday mornings with him, the sound he’d always made with his nose buried into your hair.
You let your eyes close, transporting back to simpler times with his touch. His thumb ran so gently across your cheekbone and for the briefest moment you could pretend things were normal, that he was just your boyfriend back in Tokyo. Your beautiful, troubled, bespectacled boyfriend.
If only he didn’t smell of ash and molten flesh, you could have convinced yourself that nothing had changed.
His touch dropped away, the light directed away and your eyelids fluttered open once more. His gaze was so soft on yours. How could this boy with beautiful doe eyes ever hurt another? Perhaps… Just perhaps, he’d learned his lesson. He didn’t deserve this life.
“Let me see,” you murmured, carefully taking the flashlight from his hold. He was like a lost child as he watched you inspect his chest, so gentle as you opened his shirt to see the scarring. You couldn’t help the grimace as you peeled some of the sticky fabric from yellowed, skinless flesh, but he didn’t even wince. He just watched you quietly, intimately.
You met that gaze, and the butterflies in your chest were dizzying. “I’ll dress it for you. Okay?”
A grunt of agreement.

LOVE IS CHAOS
Previous chapters
Chapter 11 - Trouble
Tumblr media
The rumors about Niragi's crime had spread very quickly in the night around The Beach. All the players who lived in the hotel had heard about this newcomer who had killed a militant in order to steal his gun. The Hatter did not find the need to reprimand him, but a visit from Aguni was necessary the next day, when the sun was not yet up.
Several knocks came on the door of the room you had chosen. It was a large and luxurious room, with a king-size bed and an equally impressive bathroom. It was a room you could never afford in the real world, so Niragi had insisted on enjoying it and appreciating the value of this inaccessibility.
The door opened with a bang, after all, all the keys to the rooms had been stuck inside the locks to avoid a troop withdrawal, or any other secrecy, for that matter.
You were entwined in Niragi's arms, bare chest pressed against the softness of the mattress. The sheet had gotten tangled between your legs and was falling right down your back. Niragi was also naked, one arm draped over his chest while his cock rested proudly along his thigh.
You both were startled by the stranger's invasion into the room, and you tried as best you could to quickly hide your body with the sheet. Eyes still glued shut, it took a little while to figure out what was going on.
"What the fuck do you want?" Niragi spat as he turned on the light on the bedside table, unconcerned about hiding (he had always been proud of his parts, and very unprudent, even in front of men who might have stared at him).
Aguni stood at the foot of the bed, hands in his pockets and chins up, a defiant look in his eyes. He didn't care about you, at that moment he was only looking at Niragi and if he himself was that stupid, he would grab his machine gun and point it at the intruder. Fortunately, none of that happened.
"Can you explain to me why one of my guys has a belly full of bullets, in the hallway?" Aguni asked nonchalantly. There was something strange about him that bothered you, it was confusing to face someone who was so imposing with so little interest in anything.
Well, maybe not, if he was trying to understand why Niragi had killed one of his own.
Niragi sighed, blinking to try to erase the sleep. He chuckled stupidly and lay back down, twirling the sheet over his thighs. "Get the fuck outta my room."
But Aguni wouldn't be satisfied with that. He walked over to the bed, and kicked Niragi's legs, who suddenly opened his eyes again, a murderous look on his face. You were still on the other side of the bed, sheet pulled up and tight to your chest as you stood mute before the scene.
He didn't scare you any more than that, but he seemed to want answers and you couldn't really blame him. One of his men had been killed, and he was looking for someone to blame. It was understandable.
"I'm only going to tell you this once, so listen carefully," Aguni resumed in his threatening voice, "It takes more than that to become an executive member of The Beach, it's not for everyone. I'll let it slide, just this once. But the next time something like this happens again, you'll answer to me."
It was an act of charity to let Niragi off the hook like that, but for now, you'd take anything. Aguni didn't even give you a glance, nothing at all as he headed for the exit. He slammed the door with a thud, and finally your tense body seemed to relax.
You didn't even notice your fingers gripping the sheet intently, and Niragi grunted widely as he turned off the light. "Who the fuck does he think he is?"
Niragi buried his head in his pillow again, and without waiting for an answer, he seemed to want to get back to sleep. "For a number two, I guess." You commented quietly and Niragi didn't really respond, aside from an almost imperceptible shrug.
That, that sort of thing, was obviously one of Niragi's weak points. He often thought he was so far above everyone else that he forgot that some people had the same attitude as him. A war of egos had no place here, and you wouldn't be the one to take sides in this chaos.
You knew that Niragi would attract problems, it was always stronger than he was. He always had a tendency to insult the cops who would have arrested him, thinking he had stolen a bottle of liquor from the store; he always had the obligation to throw middle fingers at the first person who honked at him in the car. Niragi was that kind of person, to puff up his chest at the sight of anything that bothered him and often followed by well-chosen words to make his target feel like a nobody.
But he was too naive to understand that this world was much more dangerous than he thought.
You turned on the light which burst on the walls again, reflecting the white color of the bulb. Niragi grunted a second time and turned around with a question written all over his face. "Go back to bed," he ordered before slumping back against the pillow. He encircled the pillow with his hands, pumping the muscles in his back. This was usually the kind of sight that made you bite your lip, a definite thought in the back of your mind.
But now something else was bothering you. "I told you you were going to get us in trouble, we're in Aguni's bullseye with your stupid shit!"
If there was one person in the world who could talk to Niragi like that it was you. The only person who could stand up to him and make him see the truth in his own eyes without the risk of getting a fist in the face. It was a heavy burden to bear at times, but even Niragi wasn't perfect. Sometimes he was wrong, sometimes he made bad choices.
"What are you talking about? It's fine."
"Fine? No, it's far from fine, actually," you exclaimed incredulously and now fully awake. "Niragi, baby, fuck... We should be keeping a low profile, not having fun shooting the first one that comes along. If we're going to get out of here, we need to do it smart." You were starting to get a little angry, all this drama was making your blood boil. After all, you felt that calling attention to yourself was not the best way to gain respect.
If you had to prove your loyalty, this was not how you would have hoped to do it at all. "Be careful, sweetheart, you're standing dangerously close to the fire." Niragi had warned in a deep voice, his eyes closed despite the threat that had just come out of his mouth.
He didn't want you to forget that despite your relationship, it didn't leave you the opportunity to talk to him any old way. Respect was something that Niragi cherished strongly, and he never missed an opportunity to remind you of it. Even if you hadn't said those exact words, implying that what he was doing wasn't smart annoyed him to no end.
Far be it from you to diminish him, but you had to make him understand that he shouldn't do it again. What was done, was done, you couldn't go back. But if you could avoid another lapse, then you'd do anything to protect yourself from it. "We have three days left before our visa expires," you clarified, ignoring her warnings, still being careful how you said things. "We're going to have to get them a card back tonight."
"Yeah, okay, can we go back to sleep now?" Niragi was far too unconcerned for your liking, and as he turned around once more to protect himself from the light that was dazzling him too much, he threw the sheet back over his legs. He hoped that this time he'd get to the bottom of it and force you to go back to bed and catch a few more hours of sleep.
Unfortunately, you were far too awake to go back to sleep, and the idea of trouble coming after you was too much on your mind to hope to move on. Niragi's breath was getting heavy, and you suspected that he had already gone back to sleep. It was good of him to be able to go back to sleep so easily, without any embarrassment in the world.
Discreetly, you tried to extricate yourself from the bed without making the mattress creak, and picking up your clothes that were dragging on the floor from Niragi who had torn them from your body last night. Your legs were still a bit sore, but without a word, you put on the clothes to cover your body.
You didn't want to walk around in a bathing suit here, but for now, you took advantage of the fact that a pair of shorts and a crop top were enough to be left alone. You picked up your shoes, stained with the blood of one of the victims of your first game, and put them on once you left the hotel room and turned off the light. The door closed with a small click that wouldn't wake up Niragi.
The body of Niragi's victim had disappeared from the hallway, but the dried blood on the carpet was still clearly visible. Ignoring this chilling sight, you made your way to the elevator.
Few people were already awake, and very few had not yet gone to bed. The hotel corridors were deserted, and it was rare to see anyone.
As soon as you found yourself outside again, on the patio of the terrace that led to the pool, a light breeze came crashing down on your face and you wished you were more covered up than that. There were still a few players having fun, the sound of the music much lower than during the evening.
Two young boys were passed out on the cushions of a bench a little further away, a man was lounging on a buoy in the pool, a half-drunk glass of alcohol in his hands. Two girls were still dancing to the music, their movements somewhat blurred and disoriented.
You sat on the steps of the terrace, wrapping your hands around your arms to try to regain some of the heat. It was a nice place to catch a glimpse of the sunrise, which started to bathe the sky in an orange color. The yellow ball had not yet appeared across the horizon, but it was only a matter of seconds now.
"You're up bright and early," a voice interrupted your thoughts as you were just beginning to appreciate the beauty of the landscape, which was the same as at home in the real world.
Chishiya came over and sat down beside you on the steps. He held out a cup towards you that was smoking, and you could feel the smell of coffee tickling your nostrils.
"Coffee?" He offered kindly, and you couldn't refuse such an invitation.
"Shit, where did you get that? I must have scoured the city and never found any!" You exclaimed excitedly, taking the cup in your hands. The cup was warm, and you brought it to the edge of your lips before finally resting it in your lap, eyeing the black liquid suspiciously.
With a small laugh of amusement, Chishiya justified himself, "It's only coffee, don't get carried away." He didn't really explain how it was that there was coffee at The Beach, but you now suspected that a supply crew was surely the cause of the citywide shortage. "Two sugars, if I remember correctly... Is that it?"
He pretended to be doubtful, but he seemed to remember very well how you liked your coffee. This caused your stomach to tense in a slight way that abruptly bothered you. "Thank you," you mumbled before letting the scalding coffee run down your throat. The taste of caffeine on your tongue would have been enough to make you lose your mind. It was a real problem to be so addicted to coffee.
A small silence followed as the laughter of the two dancing girls echoed around you. One of them jumped into the water, catching the man on the buoy to play with him. She splashed him, he laughed.
You were not so much bothered by Chishiya's coming, but you preferred to be alone with your thoughts, just to think about what to do. Of course, you had to keep an eye on Niragi who was slowly starting to fall into a spiral that would swallow him alive if he wasn't more careful. And you, you had to take the responsibility of being the new doctor of the Beach because as the Hatter had said, there didn't seem to be any in this world.
Besides, it made you think that... "I hear you don't have a doctor?" You asked calmly, hoping that Chishiya would be open for this conversation.
"We have one now, right?" It wasn't the answer you were expecting, but you had to be content with it. Your eyes crinkled as you stared at Chishiya, who only offered you a steady gaze in response.
He was indeed implying that you would take this role, as if you didn't really have a choice after all.
"The last doctor we had was killed in a game of spades about twenty days ago," he explained calmly, turning his attention back to the landscape that was finally discovering the sun's bright rays.
You didn't need the details, although you would have liked to know a little more about the game that had taken his life. The more you learned about each arena, the more you thought you could survive it.
"I see," you didn't care who this person was though, as long as your place here was secure. Being the new medic of The Beach didn't seem like such a bad role, after all, and even with little experience in this world, you knew you wouldn't be bored. The wounded were surely frequent.
Again, a few minutes passed before one of you spoke again. The air had turned into something so awkward that you hardly dared to make a sound. It was so strange to see Chishiya in this world, to see him again after all these years. The memories you shared with him were jostling so hard in your brain that it was starting to give you a headache.
He hadn't changed much physically, except for his hair which had grown a little bit more. It was so long now that he could tie it back in a ponytail if he wanted to. Mentally, he still seemed to have that detached air that made anyone think he didn't care about anything, that little interested him behind his arrogant face.
"How long have you been here?" You asked to make conversation, that he didn't think you wanted to end your exchange. The case was there, but he didn't need to know that.
"At The Beach, or in the Borderland?" He asked in a curious tone.
"I don't know, both?"
He thought for a second. "I arrived in the Borderland about thirty days ago. I found The Beach quickly, and the Hatter's offer was quite attractive so, I joined his cause." He explained simply, and even though you could feel his gaze out of the corner of your eye, you kept your eyes fixed on the sunrise, thousands and thousands of miles away.
You took another sip of coffee. The birds began to rise as well, as the sky began to brighten. It was getting less cold now, but you weren't sure if it was the hot cup between your fingers, or the sun's rays crashing down on your figure.
"What was your first game?" You asked again.
"The ace of diamonds," Chishiya spoke casually, far from being bothered by all your questions. At least, from what you were thinking. "Pretty simple game for a first timer, I got lucky."
He didn't say what it was, or how he'd managed to survive, but you sensed he was deliberately leaving it in doubt. That was his thing, acting mysteriously as if you would finally beg him for answers to your questions.
No, far from it. He probably forgot how casual you could be too. Or maybe you'd become that way with Niragi in the last few years. It didn't matter.
"What kind of game was that?" Still, you wanted to know how far he would go, how far he would be willing to give you answers. You distrusted him like the darn plague, after all, you knew him well enough to know the selfishness and narcissism he displayed.
"Little riddles," he clarified, but nothing more. Except, "Are you really interested in what I've done so far, or is this just an interrogation?"
You smiled. He had broken through your offense. It wasn't exactly a well-hidden attack, but it sure seemed like he remembered your style very well. "Don't get me wrong, it was just to make conversation."
He smiled as well. A bird was flying high in the sky, feathers spread wide with each flap of its wings. The two players in the pool had come out a few minutes ago and trained inside the hotel, surely to find the warmth of their bed. There was still those boys who had fallen asleep on the benches, and the other dancing girl had poured herself a last drink before looking for her room in turn.
"Looks like your boyfriend is making trouble," Chishiya commented with a detached air, as if to change the subject. There was no judgment in his voice, but you could very clearly hear the sound of denunciation floating in the air.
You closed your eyes for a small second, "It's not what it looks like," you'd try to smooth it over, make it look like an accident, maybe.
Chishiya was one of the execs at The Beach, and if you could get him in your pocket to avoid your exclusion so quickly, then you had to find every way to brush him off. Playing the hypocrite was part of that.
After all, despite all the feelings that were stirring in your heart at the sound of his voice, you had to put the affect aside and focus on what was in front of you. That is, survival above all.
"Niragi is..." you thought carefully about your words. You would never be the one to discredit Niragi here, you would never talk about his quiet moments where simply the sound of the waves crashing against the sand would be enough to calm him down. You would never talk about how, between four walls, well protected from prying ears and insistent looks, he knew how to appreciate the feeling of your skin against his with two or three kisses as delicate as a summer morning.
No, no. It was a secret you would take to your own grave, whether your loss was the consequence, it did not matter. Niragi had spent so much time rebuilding himself and understanding that he wasn't just a victim of this world and that he had the power to fight, too; that you would never dare destroy his house of cards just for the sake of showing off your knowledge.
"...Niragi is not what you think." It wasn't an explanation per se, but it was enough to make Chishiya doubt.
"And what do I think?" Chishiya asked, eyebrows raised and his voice slightly surprised.
"You think he's a bully, don't you? That he terrorizes those weaker than him for the fun of it, and that he takes a liking to their frightened looks." You would never admit that it was just a shell, just a veil that hid the personality you had fallen in love with long ago. "We're all trying to survive here. Each in our own way."
That, however, you would admit. You'd admit that maybe it wasn't the best way, but that at least there was such a willingness to get the hell out of here and get back to the life you left behind in the real Tokyo, that maybe it was excusable. Maybe.
Chishiya nodded, as if he thought what you said made sense. "I don't think he likes me much," he tried to joke with a smile, but it wasn't enough for you to do the same.
"Yeah, he doesn't know much about dealing with people..."  You knew it was much easier for Niragi to threaten people and take them down, than to play on small talk and make friends. "Don't take it personally. He doesn't like many people."
Maybe in another life he would have succeeded.
Chishiya added nothing more and remained silent. The sun was quite distinct on the horizon now, and the orange sky was giving way more and more to the cloudless blue that would herald yet another warm day.
"I'm going to get some breakfast, would you like to join me?" Chishiya offered gently as he looked away from the horizon to try to catch your eyes. But when he found them, he was disappointed to find that he surely would not have the pleasure of enjoying your company any longer.
"I'm not very hungry, but thanks. Maybe later," and that wasn't entirely a lie. It was true that you should enjoy the food at The Beach, which surely had to offer a whole buffet that you had been dreaming of since you had first set foot on this land, but all that stuff with Niragi that had happened in such a short time had spoiled your appetite.
"The lunch room is on the right side of the stairs, in the lobby. Everything is very well explained, let the signs guide you when hunger strikes again," Chishiya explained and he stood up with a last smile and finally left. The sound of his footsteps behind you echoed very shortly before you found yourself alone again.
There was only the sleeping boys on the benches who were keeping you company, but considering their condition, you wouldn't have had much conversation from them. It was not a bad thing, because you wanted to enjoy the last drops of your coffee in peace. No talking, no excuses, no nothing.
Just you, and the landscape.
But there was this little sensation on your shoulders, tingling your skin. It wasn't the wind, or any insect that had landed without permission, but as you searched for the cause of this effect, your gaze met the two black eyes of Niragi, leaning on the railing of the fourth floor balcony. Smoke was coming out of the stoned cigarette in his hand, his naked body clad only in boxers.
The sun's rays were also crashing down on his face as he took a puff of nicotine into his lungs. His gaze was so insistent that you wondered how long he had been there. Maybe he had never gone back to sleep, and he had seen everything about your conversation with Chishiya.
Even from too far away to hear anything, just the sight of a man sitting so close to you could give him a good reason to set the world on fire.
He wouldn't let go of your eyes, a real threat in the middle of his irises. Jaw clenched, muscles tensed, you knew you were in trouble.
Damn it. This was definitely not the time to piss him off.
You felt like you were walking on eggshells all day. As time went on, you feared that Niragi's wrath would descend upon you at any moment. He had already built up a reputation, and now whispers could be heard after every step he took, looks suddenly changed to something fearful, and most importantly, Niragi was now strutting around with his brand new machine gun on his shoulder.
Not only did it give him a funny look, like a mobster straight out of a Hollywood movie, but also, he had this arrogance that was unequal to him, which seemed to have completely changed sides for an absolutely glorious insolence. He was having far too much fun playing with his authority, that you still didn't quite see the point of his maneuver.
He had already insulted too many people by mid-day, that it was a miracle that Aguni had not yet returned to reprimand him. And you avoided him like the plague.
You knew that the moment Niragi got his hands on you, you would owe him an explanation for that little talk with Chishiya. There was nothing wrong and nothing really interesting about it, but Niragi had a nasty habit of doubting your good faith if he decided there was something to blame.
"Do you want to explain to me what that asshole had to say to you, sweetheart?" He only called you that when he was pissed off, or when the tension in his body started to rise dangerously.
He had you pinned between the wall of your room and his muscular torso, machine gun in hand and eyes as black as night. You'd done a pretty good job of avoiding him most of the day, or he'd given you enough of a break to run through in his head all the punishments he could try on you if he didn't like the answer.
His voice was low, as weak as the warning he carried in his eyes. His body was pressed so hard against yours that you could only sink into the wall, no escape possible. His breath crashed against your mouth, your own breath worried and stuck in the back of your throat. "Am I not allowed to talk with a friend?"
"A friend?" He repeated as he raised his eyebrows, bringing his left hand up to caress your cheek with the back of his hand. It was such a gentle gesture that it contrasted with the way he was looking at you. He hooked his fingers together at the back of your neck, his thumb gently rubbing your jaw. Then he grabbed the back of your hair hard, so hard that you couldn't hold back the moan of pain from your mouth. "You didn't tell me that Chishiya was a friend..."
No, you didn't. He wasn't really. But if Niragi found out what Chishiya really meant to you, you knew that the blond would end up with a bullet between the eyes very quickly.
You opened your mouth to justify yourself again, but the pressure on your neck was so strong that it took your breath away. Bumping his forehead lightly against yours, Niragi closed his eyes for a second before pulling back, murmuring softly in his husky voice, "I'm really trying to get us out of here. You and me. But if you make it hard for me, we're going to have a problem..."
This wasn't the first time Niragi played on words to make you understand that he wasn't happy, and that a scolding would surely await you if you didn't do as he wanted.
He finally let go of his weapon and it crashed to the ground with a thud, and with his right hand he put pressure on your hips so that you could feel the force with which he could punish you if you didn't listen to his warnings.
"I know who you are, Niragi..." It was very dangerous to answer him, let alone say those few words. But you didn't care about his threats that could terrorize the world but your own. "And I know where you're coming from," he put more intense pressure on the back of your neck and you looked straight into his eyes. "You can have fun scaring whoever you want here, but it won't work with me."
The very insinuation of his past life, the one he had spent years forgetting and burying, was enough to cause a pain in his heart that made his head spin. There was a lot going on in his head now, and the only thing you could see in his eyes was anger. Anger at being reminded of the horror and shame he suffered night and day about the person he once was.
He was so far away from that now, so far away from all that pain that he couldn't imagine that the only person who could remind him of that was you. It was like a betrayal in his eyes, like a call to hatred that would slowly take place inside him. Because yes, he hated who he used to be, he hated the person he had been for too many years.
Suddenly, the fingers around your neck loosened to painfully encircle your throat. Niragi crushed his fingers so hard on your skin that the air was now really hard to breathe. The pressure on your throat even seemed to cut off the circulation of your blood, so much so that you could feel the difficulty in concentrating within seconds.
"Well maybe I should make you afraid of me too then, mmh?" Niragi growled through his teeth, and you felt like he was tightening his grip with every word he spoke.
It was now so hard to breathe that you couldn't hear what else he was saying, if he even said anything at all. Instinctively, your hands grabbed his, trying valiantly to free yourself from his grip. But he had too much strength, and you were losing yours with each passing second.
You couldn't conceive of the idea that Niragi was actually strangling you, which had nothing to do with the moments spent under the covers while he was thrusting deep inside of you. No, this was much more intense and ferocious than that.
You were slowly losing consciousness, silently screaming, searching for your breath.
And when he finally released the pressure around your neck, the air finally flowing into your lungs was so painful that it was hard to regain a sense of sanity. You slumped to the floor, hands and knees scraping against the hard surface of the bedroom carpet. The oxygen was returning to your body and your blurred vision was beginning to find its focus again. No matter where Niragi was, you couldn't see anything but the black spots that still stained your eyes.
You coughed, once, twice, three times. Air, finally.
"No one tells me what to do," Niragi's voice echoed in your ears, like a distant sound that was very difficult to hear. Before your eyes, you could see his boots coming closer, and as he knelt in front of you, he took a handful of your hair in his hand, which he squeezed again. You couldn't feel the pain it caused, but it was enough to force you to look him in the eye. "Not even you."
He ran the tip of his tongue over his lips, the shine of his piercing glinting from the light of the day.
Niragi planted a kiss on your forehead, a gesture so delicate that you almost expected to feel pain that didn't come. "Did I make myself clear?"
It took you a second to understand what he was saying. The pain in your lungs was still there, and the fervor with which he was gripping your hair was giving you a headache. Maybe it was the lack of oxygen, though.
Not a sound could come out of your mouth, and not one of your muscles could fire up. Suddenly, you didn't even know what your first name was, so much so that Niragi's insistent gaze caused your stomach to twist.
For the first time in your life, Niragi was looking at you with something new in his eyes. Something that gave you chills and made your fingertips tremble.
Quickly, you nodded your head up and down, praying you wouldn't keep him waiting any longer. "Good," he muttered, letting go of your hair again.
Niragi walked away, just like that, without another word, without another gesture. He picked up his machine gun and left you there, slumped on the ground, bruised and scared. It was a strange feeling to see him in that state, with those eyes that were normally reserved for the world but you.
This world was consuming Niragi. Or releasing a fairground beast that only had room between bars.

Ahem-well. How would Chishiya and Niragi (optional) react to a reader who's really quiet in bed? Like no moans, very shy and doesn't want him to hear them. Thinking that they're embarrassing.
Feel free to reject if it's too much

HEADCANONS: CHISHIYA & NIRAGI
Tumblr media
summary: chishiya & niragi's reaction to quiet in bed fem!reader.
a/n: people hating dori for playing niragi just means he's a great actor. thank you for requesting again<3
Tumblr media
CHISHIYA he wouldn't really mind you being quiet. In fact he most prefers it. As long as you show your enjoyment in other ways; like your body language and facial expressions he wouldn't even think twice.
He'd definitely overhear others on the beach about the subject. Maybe a guy bragging about how loud his girl is in bed.
At first he thought it was different for everyone, but he quickly put the two and two together when he could recall the moments you'd stop yourself from even making the slightest noise.
And when he asks you about it, as nonchalant as he is, he still assures you that it shouldn't be embarrassing.
Then he'd start listing off the female anatomy, and the psychological reasonings behind every noise.
Tumblr media
NIRAGI was confused at first. You not making much noise definitely bruised his ego, making him think he wasn't good enough for you.
Every time you'd try again you'd notice how he'd try different things. Going faster, harder, and switching between different methods of dirty talk just to get a noise out of you.
He'd definitely urge you to make noise, to tell him just how much you like it. You'd definitely try, but you wouldn't help how embarrassed it made you feel.
He finally has enough and eventually gives up. Giving this entire speech of how 'he just must not be good enough for you'.
You assure him and finally explain why you aren't as loud, causing him to feel like a bigger idiot than he always had been.

In The Night | Niragi Suguru | [F]
Summary: A rare moment of tenderness lying in bed with Niragi. Word count: 1.4k Warnings: implied abusive behavior, referenced smut
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A cold breeze blowing through the open window chills you enough to make you scoot closer to the warm chest pressed against your back. Part of you wonders if that’s the reason why the window stayed open tonight but you let go of the thought quickly. It’s hard to focus on anything but the little content sigh the man behind you lets out.
Niragi is far from perfect - hell, far from decent - but he’s making progress. Slowly. In moments like these you can almost imagine your relationship is normal.
His arms tighten around your waist, pressing you even more into him. Bare skin touches skin. It makes you shiver, sensitivity lingering after your previous activities. More than that, though, it reminds you of a movie scene you’ve seen ages ago.
A blind woman touching a sleeping tiger.
Why can you relate to her so much at this very moment?
You let go of the thought. Instead, you turn around with a chuckle and nuzzle into his neck. The closer you are, the safer you are. He presses a kiss to your temple. Lately, you’re only seldom reminded of the feeling of the muzzle of his gun against that same spot.
“You seem to be in a good mood,” you note, running your hands over the muscles on his back.
“I am,” he replies. It’s indeed rare to see him like that - relaxed, walls lowered enough that you can forget they are there.
“Why?” you tease. After a moment of hesitation, you decide it’s safe enough to kiss along his collarbone, and so you do. While you don’t doubt he has enough strength for round two, it seems possible that tonight he would allow you a moment of intimacy deeper than that. Still he tenses a little, a reflex. It always happens if your touch grows soft and caring. There is a progress nonetheless - to start with, he no longer threatens to break your arm if you touch him like that.
He scoffs in response to your question.
“I have the perfect little toy next to me. We had an amazing sex and now I get to keep you like this,” he squeezes you tighter, “Is there any reason why I shouldn’t be happy?”
Toy, huh? You haven’t heard that one in a while. Maybe he wanted to remind you. Or himself, who knows.
You smile against his skin. Deciding not to burst the bubble of serenity by reminding him that there’s no guarantee either of you would survive tomorrow, you just keep kissing down to his shoulder.
“There might be,” you murmur, concealing the amused teasing as best as you can behind a serious tone. It’s easy to trick Niragi like that. He likes to jump to conclusions when it comes to your relationship. Insecure enough to expect you to turn your back on him even if it’d cost you your life at the very least.
“Like?” he tenses further under your touch, trying to push you away to look at you. Fortunately he controls his strength and you manage to stay snuggled against him by hugging him tightly.
“Hmm… well, you’re not the one cuddling with the hottest and deadliest man at the Beach. And you don’t get to kiss him,” you demonstrate by tracing your lips back up to his neck, “and touch him,” now that he’s calmed down you can once again stroke across his back and sides, “and tell him that you love him very much.”
Your mouth follows the outline of his windpipe, kissing up his neck to his lips, to which you’re so generously granted access. The tension remains in his muscles. It was to be expected. Soft praise and attention always make him uncomfortable, confessions of feelings even more so. And he knows no way of reacting to that feeling other than violence and threats. Fortunately it seems like he’s finally understood that you won’t tolerate that kind of behavior towards you.
“Careful,” Niragi warns instead. It isn’t soft, not exactly, but you appreciate the effort he put into making the word not seem like a threat.
You smile into the kiss when he connects your lips again. It’s the slow kind of kiss that you love, lips melting together, tongues sliding against each other languidly. You play with the ball that pierces his flesh, careful not to hurt him despite the wound being long healed.
“Why?” you whisper as you pull away for air. You see the way his jaw clenches just as he notices the spark of uncertainty in your eyes. He tries his best to relax again.
“I don’t want to hurt you tonight,” he whispers back after a moment of consideration. A thought crosses your mind, wondering just how fucked up your life has gotten that you actually consider it a sweet sentiment. He’s looking straight into your eyes as if searching for approval. You wonder if anyone’s ever seen him like that.
“I appreciate that,” you hum softly, reaching out to play with his hair as you kiss the corner of his mouth. Every moment with him really feels like living with a wild tiger. You can never be entirely sure that he won’t take your life in the next second. All it would take is one little misstep.
Perhaps you like the danger, crave it even on some unconscious level. That’s the only explanation you have for staying with him this long. Even as you tangle your fingers into his hair, combing through it with care, you think of the wild beasts you’ve encountered in the various games.
His eyes are closed. You have a theory that it’s so that you can’t read them. Yet it’s obvious Niragi’s going through some internal war. As you stroke his hair, running your hands through it carefully and massage his scalp, you think that just maybe he’s getting used to it. Used to this kind of touch that leaves behind comfort instead of pain.
He’s never told you about his past but it’s not exactly hard to guess it couldn’t have been easy. Or maybe you just want to believe his actions and behavior could be if not justified or excused then at the very least explained by the conditions that shaped him.
Thinking about the ancient history, the old world, your hands find their way to his face.
It comes as a surprise to you that you’ve never thought of wrapping them around his neck instead.
One of your hands slides down to his cheek, tenderly cupping it, while the other strokes above his eyebrow. Eventually your finger bumps into the metal ball there. It’s a strange contrast. While the one in his mouth is nice and warm, this one is cold, chilled by the midnight air. You smile a little and he must have heard it because he asks you what’s so funny - you tell him. He shakes his head.
“You’re the only person who would wonder about that, you know?” Niragi kisses your forehead. You smile, surprised that he hasn’t yet told you to stop. Maybe this is a test. You feel like you’ve already tested his patience a lot tonight with all your gentle touches. It makes you feel strangely proud of him and grateful to Niragi that he accepted as much of your love as he did tonight.
But you can’t tell him that. If you told him you noticed the progress, the little changes so that your relationship at least resembles something healthy, he would cover back behind his walls, throwing all the progress out the window in the process.
You decide to push your luck instead. There’s something you wanted to do while you had the chance. Shifting higher so you’d reach his ear, you begin kissing a path from his lips across his jaw. Occasionally sucking on his skin, you make your way to his ear. The increasing strength of his hold on you does not go unnoticed. You bite his earlobe lightly.
“It’s true, even if you don’t like it. Even if you don’t feel the same way. I love you,” you squeeze his shoulder. A sign that you’re done for today. That you’re ready to respect him as a predator and a killer rather than being respected and tolerated as his partner again.
That little squeeze is probably enough of a reassurance that his jaw relaxes again and he sighs deeply through his nose, angry but holding it together. It’s almost adorable.
You nuzzle into his chest, an allowed and welcomed gesture. It gives him an opportunity to hold and protect you through the night. Besides, with an ear pressed against his heart, you can pretend it’s beating so fast because he’s feeling a whole different emotion than fury.

Hii can I req for chishiya & Niragi with s/o who has low alcohol tolerance and gets flushed red very easily also wayy too clingy. thank uuuuu
i missed writing headcanons lol, but why is it so hard to get the motivation to do it? here is my attempt to get back in the groove (once more), hope it's to your liking
(these requests are SO OLD)
warnings: none
chishiya and niragi with a drunk s/o
chishiya shuntaro
Tumblr media
chishiya has never been one for nightlife, so he never had a chance to see how you act under the influence
just from what he did know about you though, he had a general idea that you probably weren't an experienced drinker
so imagine his surprise when his beloved s/o asks him to go to the bar after a rough game?
obviously he hides it well and just sort of goes with the flow
if it was his choice, he'd rather just have you stay back with him and so he could enjoy your company while he tinkered around
you were on the more quiet side so that's typically how your time spent with each other went
just silence between the two of you, basking in each other's presence
the bar was packed (as per usual) the moment you stepped in. it was peak hours, after all
you ordered a drink or two for yourself and offered to do the same for chishiya, but he declined. he took it upon himself to look out for you, and he couldn't do that if was drinking
he wasn't sure what had pushed you to want to come down here, but he had a good idea
the game you had completed was tougher than usual, and only two of the six people sent made it back alive
he held back a smirk as he watched you down your drinks
the way your face scrunched up was cute and he would definitely be teasing you about it
"can't hold your liquor?"
little did he know how factual that statement was
with how fast you guzzled down the alcohol, you were intoxicated nearly ten minutes later
your words started slurring and heat was rising to your cheeks
"chishiyaaaa"
your whines caught his attention, which at the time was directed towards the many people dancing in the center of the room. he was kind of annoyed that his people-watching got interrupted, but the moment he saw your face he couldn't hold back a chuckle
"wow, i guess you really can't hold your liquor. and here i thought i was just joking around"
yeah lol he's a little shit. despite your obvious intoxicated state, he will still tease you to earth's end and back just to get a reaction out of you
fret not, he only does it because he cares about you and lowkey (highkey) craves your responses
at first you were just whiny, but then you kind of spiraled into something a little more. and by a little more, i mean a lot more
chishiya had never seen you so clingy during his entire time of knowing you
you were very hyper-aware of where his head was at during every moment, so you only initiated affection when you knew he was in the mood and the both of you were in a comfortable place to do so
spoiler alert? this was not a comfortable place
you were all over him
trying to kiss his neck, clutching his arm to your chest, rubbing your face against his shoulder. it was almost like you were a completely different person
your pda levels shot through the roof and tbh he really wasn't having it, so he lightly grabbed your arm and led you out of the bar
it took him a second to get you to his room with how drunk you were, and after only two drinks nonetheless?
you were stumbling into the wall, pointing out anything in the general area that caught your eye, and attempting to drag him around to these said things
after a good twenty-minute walk, yall finally managed to make it to his room where he sat you down on the bed
he made sure to provide you with water before sitting next to you, listening to you ramble on and on
don't be fooled by his cool exterior! you were still clingy as hell with him
except now that he was in the comfort of his own room, he didn't feel the overwhelming urge to push you away
he was still a bit hesitant, and for a moment he just sat still while you squeezed him to death
chishiya doesn't initiate things like kisses or hugs. he prefers to stick to the smaller things such as head pats, hand holds, etc.
it's still the same in this case, even if your levels of affection are amplified by the alcohol
we cannot forget that this man works in the medical field, so taking care of people was his job. he's kinda good at that type of thing when he wants to be
he'll open the water bottle for you and make sure you drink it, even if he has to gently grab your chin and open your mouth for you
"'shiya i don't want to-"
"just drink the water, y/n"
after making sure that you're fairly hydrated, his next step is to put you to sleep
while he's sure you're having a great relaxed experience, he'd rather just get this all over with. and unfortunately, the easiest way to do that is for you to pass out
luckily he knows just the right way to do it because he has done it many times before ;)
while you hug him tight, he will pet down your hair and slowly massage your scalp. dear god does that do it for you, and before you know it you're sleepy
he lowers himself onto the mattress with you and after a few more minutes of the pure bliss that is a scalp massage, you're out like a light
chishiya can be a real asshole sometimes, but you'd be surprised at how sweet he can be when you're asleep
he tucks you in and wipes any excess sweat off of your forehead so you can sleep peacefully as possible. he doesn't really want you to deal with a hangover and a terrible night's rest, so he does what he can to make sure you sleep soundly
and lets just say he prepares the room for your hangover in the morning
he has painkillers, water, and is already mentally preparing himself to wake up early and grab your favorite breakfast
when you wake up and ask where all of it came from though, he will definitely pull the "kuina did it" card
because god forbid you have the knowledge that he did something nice for you
be prepared to never be able to let down that you're a total lightweight, he will relentlessly tease you for it
all is in good fun though, you know him quite well and are fully aware that this is how he shows that he loves you
he's a bastard but he's your bastard
when he makes fun of you for your clinginess you cannot stop apologizing, but you know by the way he's smirking he didn't mind too much
niragi suguru
Tumblr media
niragi goes out drinking quite often, but you were never really apart of that mix
he mostly just does it to have a little fun, but he gets quite jealous easily so he never really wanted to bring you around
just the thought of some random person eyeballing you pisses him off, so imagine how he would react if it were to actually happen
niragi doesn't purposefully prevent himself from getting into fights with people (if anything, he provokes people for fun), but when it comes to you he tries to keep your relationship relatively peaceful
it wasn't like that at first, but after some convincing from you (which took a very long time) he tends to avoid situations which he knows will put him in a jealous state
you were the one that asked if you could join him for a couple of drinks
you had wanted to spend a little one-on-one time with him and the thought of just hanging around in your room again seemed kind of boring, so you offered to go drinking to spice things up a bit
you were aware of the strings that were attached when it came to hanging out in loud public places with niragi, so you mentally prepared yourself for the overwhelming possessiveness you were about to endure for the night
he has his arm around you basically the entire time you're there
most of his time is spent giving dirty looks to anybody who dares breathe in your direction lol, so unless you tug his sleeve or tap his arm... you probably won't be getting much of his attention
that's until you actually start drinking
the first thing niragi noticed was the stumbling of your feet. you seemed awfully imbalanced for only being on your third drink...?
it was hard to ignore your clumsy steps, but even harder to ignore the way you gently pulled on his arm
after a while you got sick of waiting for him to face you and impatiently grabbed his chin, forcing his eyes to look at your own
LMAO the look on his face when he sees how flushed you are and the drowsy way you're looking at him
you were always so aware of what you were doing, so this version of you was a complete shock to him
and he's even more shocked when you pull him in for a kiss
your lips were hungry for his and there's no way in hell he would reject that, but you were never one for pda
just by being together with niragi, you're going to have to learn to love pda in some type of way simply because that's just who he is
typically, he was the one who initiated affection in public
you never turned him down or pushed him away, but you tended to prefer more simple things in public
which is why this felt a little... weird? niragi was practically addicted to your affection, but you being so clingy in a crowded place felt off
he's not one to turn down your advances, and in fact, he'd gladly take advantage of it
but because you are his s/o, he sometimes catches himself trying to be a little more mindful of what you would want
this is the reason he ultimately drags you out of the bar and back into his room
he still is getting plenty of enjoyment out of your spontaneous clinginess though, basically basking in it as you walk through the halls of the beach
he ends up stopping every few minutes to reciprocate your kisses. he really enjoys them and also doesn't want to leave you hanging lol
i don't really think there's such thing as being 'too clingy' when it comes to niragi
he loves to show you off, which is why he's so keen on pda. he adores when you're the one to initiate any type of affection, it makes him feel wanted and is a huge boost to his ego
is that a good thing or a bad thing? niragi doesn't think so because he's an ass, but lol i'll let you decide
when you do end up back in his room and in a more private setting, he stops holding himself back and allows you to shower him in every ounce of attention you give out
this isn't to say he doesn't take care of you tho, because he does
he's pretty aware of what you're comfortable with and while it's hard to hold himself back, he'd rather you do such things while you're completely sober so you don't end up leaving him
yeah he's a selfish bitch
he's a little less mindful of treating your hangover in the morning simply because he just never thought that far ahead, but he'll definitely cuddle you all you want if you're up to it
