You tell you bf fingering doesn’t get you off, he proves otherwise
"Well how do you usually get off when I'm not here?" He chuckles in disbelief at what you had just admitted to him.
"I don't know, I just don't," You say with a light chuckle and look away in slight embarrassment.
The revelation that you would wait for him to come back home to you and fuck you had him hardening in his pants. There was no way his baby went on without any relief.
-
"Come on baby, you can do it."
Your right arm is tired from locked position you have it in as your middle and ring finger move in and out of your hot, wet pussy. Your forehead is glistening in sweat and your chest moves up and down with heavy breathes as you lay your head back onto his shoulder as he sits behind you on the bed. You could almost cry as you've been trying to get off for the past thirty minutes.
You let out a frustrated whine when you can feel the ache of your fingers, scared of loosing the arousal, you pull them out. The slick clinging on makes you shiver.
"I-I can't do it anymore. Please!" You cry out and look up towards his face to make him see your desperation.
But when you look up you see his eyes on your sex, eyebrows furrowed, an almost angry look on his face. He breathes out of his nose before his hand replaces your own, his two fingers slipping right in and move at a faster pace than what you were doing.
"So wet baby, look at this. Why can't you get off like good girl?" You let out a shaky moan as you looked down, watching his hands play at your cunt. His fingers reaching places you couldn't reach and the other hand rubbing on your swollen clit. You then feel his lips on your neck, kissing and licking, all the sensations making tears form in your eyes.
“So pathetic, can’t even do it yourself. Look how you writhe baby.” He chuckles, hearing the squelching at the pace he was going. You begin writhing, body moving in jolts at the sensation of your orgasm coming.
"Uhn! I- I'm cumming! I'm cumming!"
“My poor baby, how long have you gone without getting off, huh? Don’t worry I got you. Need another one from you.” He coos

-Legal Name: Aina Calland (No longer goes by that name)
-Call Sign: Zona (picked that name because she saw half a Arizona green tea can that only read ‘Zona’ and thought it was cool)
-Age: 26 8/18/1997
-Nationality: Norwegian
(She speaks Bokmål dialect, her English is a little broken and sometimes she’ll get words mixed up. Fork and f*ck are often an issue when pronouncing)
-Height: 5’8” / 68”
-Weight: 145lbs
-Body type: Toned | Abs | buff thighs | itty bitty titty committee | slightly toned arms | Strong endurance but horrible balance.
Body Notes: Chest tattoo is the Troll Cross which is believed to offer protection. Her back has the Valknut triangles for the loss of her father and wings to guide her.
-Family:
Mother passed when she was 5 in a drunk driving accident. Father passed when she was 17 from CVD caused by unhealthy smoking and drinking habits. She was close with her father, he took care of her and her sister well. Older sister is alive(more info on her later)
-Personality:
Zona is pretty easy going, her mind thinks before she acts during most situations. She is politely aggressive, will often be heard saying please or thank you while cussing someone out. She has dad humor as well as a little bit of dark humor when she thinks no one is listening. Zona has a mild case of Tourette’s, she mainly will whisper small noises as she works or repeat sounds that catch her attention. It’s not very noticeable unless looking for it to happen. She gets awkward around large groups of people she doesn’t know and prefers to stick around a familiar face. The poor girl is an introvert that wants to be an extrovert. She thinks in pictures so visuals are a lot better than verbal instructions or making her read.
Tumblr media
Zona started her career to be EMS after finishing high school at the age of 17. She wanted the adrenaline rush of having to think fast to save lives while being physically active. She got a head start in high school and studied for 2 years to get her bachelor degree in Paramedic Science then began her Vocational school right after.
BACKSTORY: (In the works will probably mess with this along the way)
Zona often volunteered her time to help with disaster relief and emergency assistance with the Red Cross in Norway. After a terrorist attack in France, Zona and a few others at her work offered to assist with NATO to help with humanitarian needs in France. It was volunteer based and had an unknown time line. While she was there another attack took place, Zona along with other volunteers and civilians were taken hostage by the terrorists group. She was transported to an unknown location(we still figuring that out) where most hostages were killed or used for ransom. They used Zona as a POW and forced her to tend to their wounded due to her medical background. She was captive for 5 months before Chimera infiltrated the hidden base.
MORE ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED NEXT WILL COME : D I gotta draw more art cuz the plot thickens. I also suck at writing so please forgive me if things don’t make sense…

recently, i made a post about looking for hobonichi / journaling / commonplace youtube recommendations, and i didn't get much variety. in response, i decided that i would make my own list and just put it out there. these are all youtubers that i enjoy consuming content from or journaling with. i added an extra little section for "mainly vibes" because while they have some journaling content, it's rarely ever the focus.
all the recommendations are under the "keep reading" so i can update whenever i find someone new that i enjoy

Rules: Post some writing!
thanks for the tag @honeybewrites! here's something from my kind of sort of edited chapter 4:
One copper could buy some of the sweetest pastries on the market-street, even the large ones that she could share with Oenith and Condel tomorrow. Of course, now she had to choose between them.
She was trying to decide between a custard pie and a tart with fig filling when she was distracted by the sound of someone behind her speaking Cenaith. Therien turned quickly, looking at the crowd with wide eyes as she tried to place the voice—no, voices, at least two, and post-war Cenaith at that: variations on the mixed dialects found on young elves born after the old kingdoms’ remnants had blended together into Tarnuvin and Lauthein.
It didn’t take her long to find the two of them—one with tidy red curls wearing the white and crimson of Lauthein, and the other with black jaw-length hair in the grey and brown of Tarnuvin.
“Um—sorry, I—”
Therien probably should have expected them to stop their conversation short to look at her, but the intensity of their surprise to hear her speaking Cenaith was a bit intimidating. She stopped short, flushing nervously.
“Oh!” The dark-haired one said after a moment, lighting up with a grin of recognition. “Oh, you’re Therien, aren’t you?” They looked to the redhead and explained, “That’s councillor Idhren’s daughter.”
“Um,” Therien said again. She thought for a moment, as hard as she could, but still couldn’t find their name among the vague memories of junior councillors older than her, the ones who studied or worked as scribes while she and Oenith and the rest read books or fought with wooden swords and sticks. “Sorry, I don’t—”
“Aestarn,” they pointed to themself. “And don’t worry about it. You wouldn’t have seen me around, I didn’t travel for councils until a few years ago, and I wasn’t officially studying under your father until then either.”
“Really?” The other gave a curious frown—and hurried to introduce himself as Veor, before looking back to Aestarn. “I would’ve guessed it had been longer. I didn’t get to travel for a council until after five years with my mentors.”
“Ah, well,” they shrugged, and moved next to Therien to look at the pastries. “He wasn’t really taking on students for a while there. —Have you tried these before? Are they good?”
Therien shrugged at the last part, directed at her, and decided on a honey cake instead of either the custard pie or the fig tart. It would stay fresh longer, and she wanted to share it with Oenith and Condel. “Never tried them. Couldn’t you have worked under Rosmorn or Aina?”
Aestarn reached into their pocket for a coin of their own, and fussed over the button for a moment as they answered. “Sure, and miss my chance to learn from the war-council mediator? The only Alliance councillor from the Western Expanse? I wanted to research the geopolitics of territory shifts in the last war and western trade routes were crucial to that. It was worth the wait.”
She’d never thought about it that way before. To her, he was just her papa, and none of it seemed particularly significant or impressive, because it was just him. It wasn’t surprising that he’d wanted Aestarn to wait a few years, after her mother’s death, but the fact that Aestarn and Veor spoke about it like it was common knowledge—
How much do I not know about what happened after I left? And—
And Aestarn had been in the market yesterday. She flushed redder as soon as she realized it, and hoped that they wouldn’t bring it up.
Everyone saw me make a fool of myself, didn’t they?
“Doesn’t the second meeting of the day start soon?” She said instead.
“It does,” Veor cut in, trying to direct Aestarn’s attention away from the shop. He squinted at the sun for a moment. “We have a little time left, but they wanted to use the recess to see the market.”
“You wanted to look at jewelry! You said, ‘Ridanna earrings are in style right now, and the stone quality is nicer than we see imported to Lauthein—’”
Therien found herself laughing at the two junior-councillors’ antics. She turned back towards the shop to purchase a small honey-cake as they continued their teasing, then moved out of the way. The cake was wrapped securely in paper. She crumbled a bit off one side, then folded it back into the wrapping and stuffed it into her pocket.
She watched Veor and Aestarn’s playful arguing until she’d finished the bite of pastry. It was good, dense and fresh-tasting and so sweet and—no, that was childish, she didn’t like sweet foods that much. She’d only gotten it to share with Oenith and Condel, and only because the two councillors were there as well.
“So, what did—” she interrupted to catch their attention. Aestarn wrestled with the too-tight buttonhole on their pocket again, trying to put their coin back inside it. She tried again. “What did the Council say about the riots yesterday? I still haven’t heard the truth, only rumors.”
And only what her father and Hal had told her. If she was going to help, she had to know more.
tagging @bonniewame @themboty @runner-owen if you want to join, and anyone else who wants to jump in!

wait since people are sharing their grownup anipoke cast hcs im gonna share mine too :]
there's a lot of thinking behind every single one of them so please send asks if you're curious about one of them (or more) okay!!!! i love talking about my hcs LMAO
ash: ive got an entire story arc written for that boy. BUT im not gonna explain it here cause it's too long but basically he would become a pokemon teacher (NOT A PROFESSOR, im thinking more like what kukui does in the anime? which is teaching children about pokemon stuff in a school setting)
misty: i like to think she'd become quite the sporty type and maybe become a professional swimmer and participate in competitions and stuff
brock: pkmn doctor!!!! he has a lot of experience and maybe he'd train other younger doctors-to-be :]
tracey: i think art is more of a hobby to him, but @juliamex3 's idea of him taking commissions and becoming gary's assistant is genius so im stealing it HEHE
gary: pkmn professor and rival to goh, they don't specialize in the exact same fields but sometimes they work together. gary still loves to tease goh (they respect eachother but the teasing is eternal)
may: ill be completely honest and say may is the one ive given the least thought to. I'M SORRY BESTIE... id say she's still a coordinator and likes to bring smiles to people with her performances
dawn: im not 100% sure but im thinking something like a professional dancer but like not competitive, maybe she'd make a duo with zoey and they'd both do performances together
iris: she's still unovas champion ! she also beat cynthia's ass and now her goal is to beat ash's ass (in a battle.)
cilan: S class connoisseur, but there's still things to learn! which is why he rarely stays at the striaton cafe.
clemont: definitely not a gym leader anymore. he decided to let his sister take his place. hes an engineer and he's well known around the world for all of his inventions
serena: i don't think she'd keep doing performances all her life. after she becomes kalos queen, she'd start focusing on fashion designing. also i like to think that shauna would model for her :3
mallow : as the owner of ainas kitchen she opened a new restaurant in konikoni city where she lives with lillie!!
lillie: she writes children's literature!!!
lana: okay so i like to think that lana would specialize in water pokemon preservation. she would dive in specific areas to check the pokemons conditions and stuff
sophocles: he said he wanted to be an astronaut, i believe in him!! YOU CAN DO IT SOPHOCLES
kiawe: hes going to become kahuna after olivia but it's not going to be easy. hes going to travel across the world to learn more about pokemon and people first, and only then will he be recognized as kahuna
gladion: he researches pokemon at the aether foundation and someday will take his mother's role as president. he and goh have worked together before and they get along well
goh: pokemon professor, as i said he and gary are still rivals. goh specializes in legendary/mythical pokemon!!
chloe: i like to think that she would do something "normal" LMAO, maybe journalist, i can see her writing articles in newspaper, or photographer. it's hard to find something good for her because the anime didn't give us any clue ghdbfhd. i have more hcs for koharu but not related to her future job

id be really interested to see you talk about the dynamic btwn Haseo and Ovan + how it changes over time, love ur dothack thoughts so far
(Now on DW!)
I had to take a vigorous walk around the block and a shower before I could sit down to write this, lmao.
God, nonny, they are So Much. An unbelievable amount, even.
To step back from the mythical framing for a little bit and to just look at them as people, one of the things that makes me bark like a dog the worst is how all of the Epitaph are all circling and struggling with the similar kinds of of identity issues -- presumably being the reason the Epitaphs attached themselves to them, there's no room in the mind of people who are too secure in who they are to carry the duties of a Phase with them.
Each of the Epitaphs represent the temptation to fall into a variety of self-protective but futile failure modes that let you define yourself on your own terms but ultimately limit growth, and while I have thoughts about all of the Epitaph users and how they interact with each other, I definitely think Haseo and Ovan get the version of it that is the most brutal in its compatibility.
For Haseo, Skeith represents a temptation to do as thou wilst, to eschew a communal and social identity in favour of only exclusively defining himself -- which is, incidentally, how Ovan comes across initially. You could not find a guy who moves through the world with more assurance and less need to explain himself. Ovan appears to have a kind of singularity of identity that nobody else can get a word in edgewise -- and Haseo, who spends a lot of time feeling off and unsure and wordlessly anxious about having lost sight of who he is, that's like the holy grail.
Of course, the reason Ovan is so singular in his identity is because his sense of self is practically transparent and he exists almost exclusively as the life-support system for a machine that makes Aina happy. From the start, there's no way for Ovan to recognise Haseo the way he wants to be recognised because Ovan barely knows who he is, let alone what Haseo sees in him that is so admirable because Ovan is just reflecting back the thing Haseo wants to see in himself.
Because in contrast to the fundamental mistake in Haseo's thinking, Ovan is very clear-eyed about what Haseo is like. That's one of the core paradoxes of his character, he's very good at reading other people and completely oblivious to how they read him back. He's great at anticipating and manipulating people's behaviour, but is critically disconnected about how he should feel about the way other people feel about him. Haseo needs to see him as something to chase and grow into? Okay, if that's what he needs to be, it's as simple as that. The terms of their relationship are set forever now.
So, in a way, as much as Ovan's plan relies on Haseo growing as a person, as much as he frames it in those terms, what he actually needs is for Haseo to stay exactly the same. Stay exactly on the terms that Ovan needs him to stay on for his plan to succeed. Ovan can never let Haseo reach him because that would change the terms of their relationship, and make him truly unmanageable.
Which, really, is just how Ovan deals with everything in his life. He keeps it all at a distance, because he doesn't really have a sense of self to let people close to, except in the sense that he knows everything that has happened to cause this situation has been done by him, and that the only way to set it right is to find a way to cross himself out again. And if he has to let Haseo catch up to him, it's explicitly so Haseo can be his executioner, and help him rectify the mistake of existing in the world in the first place. Corbenik, the meaning of life and death, can only exist in the void.
And tbh, if Ovan's plans had actually worked out on the timetable he intended them to work out on, I think Haseo may have been fulfilled by that. From the start, he sees himself as the aspirant to Ovan's paragon, wants to reach him through his own effort, to exist in the world the same way he thinks Ovan does.
However, the rest of Haseo's arc is learning that none of us exist in the world alone. That we are defined by the experiences we have with other people. If he reaches Ovan and Ovan is no longer there, what does it still matter to have reached him?

Hi (: I just saw your blog that read you love to yap about the lore of your ocs. And I would love to hear about it! Especially Leonardo and Elizabeth (I just love old married couple characters, they’re always so sweet) . But Aina seems also pretty cool.
Oh and also Leonardo is the personification of Portugal and Elizabeth of England, right? I wasn’t so sure from your post. Btw I’m sorry you got banned but it led me to find your work and even though it’s not that much yet but it looks very cool. (Sorry if I’m not making much sense, English isn’t my first language)
Hi there! Yup. I'm a professional yapper Graduated top of my class at Yapology of Old Couple Ships.
Let's dive into that!
Tumblr media
I think I didn't develop my idea enough, I'm so sorry! I make ocs out of countries, yes.
This all started out in school for me. I enjoyed imagining countries as single people instead of full governments. As a kid, it's just an easier way to digest history classes :) It was a fun exercise too, and I ended up wanting to illustrate that concept…Here we are now. If it says anything, my major is International Affairs/PoliSci…Yeah. I grew attached.
Leonardo and Elizabeth are my favourites to write about, they're just lovely…Although deadly. We know how history goes down with these tiny-but-mighty islands.
They met ages ago, in a siege in Lisbon. Elizabeth was sailing somewhere else, but the weather seemed to be turning on her and her crew. It was safer to stop and go back to the seas whenever the skies cleared out.
She'd been meet by the people living by the shore, and asked if there was any way she and her crew could stay somewhere in town, to avoid the storm, and get some supplies they were running out of. Leonardo was on his way to Lisbon, as it was being stormed. He didn't have much time to give each member of that foreign crew a bed and meal for the night, so he bought a bit of time with a deal. If Elizabeth and her crew could help he and his men protect the city, then they could stay. And deal! I guess you can say their first "date" was in a battlefield. How romantic is that? I guess very romantic, because Elizabeth stayed there for a couple more days.
Though they weren't victorious, these two found a little spark.
Elizabeth admired Leonardo's kindness on helping her friends, and also the cheerfulness and spontaneity he had when they left battle. He has this BIG laugh, he's very silly with his friends, even if the battle wasn't taking good turns...Really charming to her.
As for Leonardo, he had gotten himself hurt in the big fight. He would've gotten a worse wound, if Elizabeth hadn't seen it coming and hadn't pushed him away. She dragged him to the palace when it all ended, and put herself to clean and bandage Leo up. He liked that she was so handy with it, and so smart (and also gently scolding him for being so reckless in the middle of a fight). He likes how grounded she is, compared to him.
They kindled a sweet friendship from then on…But if you ask me, Elizabeth was getting butterflies in her stomach since the day she left that silly guy ;)
Tumblr media
They met many more times and exchanged letters very often. They liked going to the beach together, or just going for a walk. Even just sitting and chatting, they just liked being close.
Oh, what a mouthful they are. I thought start at how they met was good! Of course, being immortal means you have a few more hundreds of years of history, and these two alone have more than a lifetime together! This is just the very beginning of this old timey sunshine x raincloud duo.
I must say, this a very SLOW burn. Leonardo takes his sweet time to propose, even when Elizabeth dropped all the hints!
I'm very happy to hear you're enjoying so far :) I was a bit sceptical about coming back to this blog, but I'm remembering what made it so fun back in the day!
Alas, since you got this far reading, here's a treat:

Ps.: Your English is good, I'm sure Elizabeth is proud ;)

your eyes at night
Collaboration with @artycreaty/@fanarain, for the prompt "Ill-Advised Stargazing." Thank you Aina for the wonderful co-writing experience!
~ ~ ~ ~ ~
“Mou, Shinichi, why did you drag me out here in the middle of the night? It’s cloudy and we can’t even see anything.”
She could feel the rough shingles through her shorts as she sat, having followed Shinichi’s lead up a ladder that was surely just looking for the right misplaced breath to break it. Around them, the forest was quiet, with the occasional small rustling that made her shiver. There was no moon.
“You’ll see,” said Shinichi, settling down beside her. He sounded unbearably smug. “Sake?” He produced a shadowy shape from somewhere in the form of a jug.
“Sake?” Ran looked dubiously at him. “Is that all you brought? Just sake?”
“Of course not,” he chuckled, before gesturing at a basket to his side which she hadn’t seen previously. He reached over with his arm and pulled up a small and thin blanket that was draped onto the top, revealing sandwiches and fruits. “That’s just an appetizer.”
She stared at the basket and then at Shinichi, who was staring back at her, a hand still holding and gesturing at the sake. She just sighed and shook her head in resignation.
“Sure, why not.”
Feeling reckless, she took the jar and tipped some into her mouth before handing it back to him. She could just make out a pout on his face as he took it from her.
“Had a bet with myself that you wouldn’t drink,” he said ruefully. “Guess I shoulda known better.” He turned away, tilted his head back, and drank as well.
“Not too much,” Ran admonished. She’d seen her dad stumbling around intoxicated, and had no wish to discover the experience on a slanted rooftop ten meters up. “You still haven’t told me why we’re here.”
Shinichi huffed a laugh, which wasn’t an answer. She heard him rummaging around the picnic basket, and a packet appeared in front of her. “Let’s get comfortable. Egg sandwich?”
She grumbled at the lack of the answer before taking the sandwich off of his hand. “Thank you,” she said as she unwrapped it and then put it in her mouth. She felt Shinichi staring at her as she bit a part of the sandwich, chewing for a bit before swallowing. She blinked down at her hand.
“This is good, really good,” she noted before looking up at him. “Did you make this?”
He grinned, a little smugly. “Of course I did. Impressed?”
She blinked again before giving a grin in return, tilting her head as she did so. “Yes, actually. So impressed that I’m almost proud.”
She was also impressed by herself for wiping that smug grin off of his face. Even in the darkness, she could see him blushing.
His face still slightly shadowed with embarrassment, he reached around and took something else out of the basket. A few seconds later, she heard the crunch of an apple.
They ate in silence for a bit, till Shinichi wordlessly handed her the sake jug again. Looking down in surprise, Ran realized she had finished her sandwich. She accepted the jug, tilted her head back and poured a more generous stream into her mouth this time. The sweetness of the alcohol lingered on her tongue.
A breeze started up, rustling through the treetops ahead of them, and Ran shivered, even through her alcohol-induced warmth.
Shinichi must have felt it beside her, because he looked around at her, eyes luminous with concern. “Barou, I told you to bring a warm jacket.”
“I didn’t think we’d be staying outside tonight!” she retorted. “I thought we’d be going from one place to another!”
He blinked, then deadpanned, “You knew we were still going outside, where it’s colder than the inside. Why didn’t you bring it along?”
“I thought I’d be fine,” she mumbled as she leaned forward and wrapped her arms around her bent legs. “It’s not that cold. I remember seeing the weather report saying that it would be a little warmer tonight.” She saw Shinichi frown in the corner of her eye, and forced a chuckle.
“Don’t worry about me, I’ll be fine. You know I’ve handled much colder temperatures than this.” Even as she said so, she still shivered. She rubbed her hands onto her arms through the thin sleeves to stave off the cold.
He stared at her for a while, before sighing and adjusting to take his jacket off of himself before reaching over and draping his jacket onto her shoulders.
“Eh?” she blinked at the action. “Shinichi?”
“Don’t get the wrong idea. I’m only helping you because if you catch a cold we’ll both be in trouble.” Despite this, his touch lingered, and eventually he pulled the jacket more tightly around her before letting go.
It was warm with his body heat, and she snuggled into it without putting her arms through. She leaned against him, warmed by sake on the inside and by Shinichi’s jacket on the outside. “Thanks.”
He cut a glance at her and grunted. The flush was back on his cheeks.
The next moment, though, his hand landed on her opposite shoulder, shaking it as excitedly as a child on a holiday. “Look! It’s happening!”
She followed his pointing finger upward and saw the clouds shifting rapidly, blown about by some high wind. As they shredded, points of light peeked through first, then the vast, pale river of Milky Way was splitting the sky, the constellations beating down thickly on them from all corners of the heavens.
Ran gasped.
“Shinichi!” she exclaimed in awe. “The stars!”
Indeed. There were bright points of light shining down upon them, connecting with each other in Ran’s eyes, forming constellations.
“It’s beautiful…” she breathed in awe. “Shinichi, it’s so beautiful!”
“Yeah…” he replied softly. “It really is.”
Somehow she felt that there was something hidden in the words he’d just uttered out, but she was too awed by the stars to take notice. They were bright, so bright she felt like she was being taken into their embrace. She always knew it, but she was still surprised by how vast the heavens were. She was not the only one, she knew. Shinichi was just as enamored by the stars as her.
“Hm?” she blinked. She didn’t know about constellations much, but from what she could remember from books she’s read before, then that group of stars forming a shape was… “Shinichi!”
“Yeah?”
“Look, there!” she pointed towards the night sky. “That one with the three bright stars close together that looks like an uneven triangle with the other stars that look like animal legs…  is that Sagittarius?”
He didn’t answer at first, but when she turned her head to look at him, he was looking along the line of her finger. She heard him swallow before he said roughly, “Of course it is. Don’t you know anything? You’re familiar with the story?” Without waiting for an answer, he launched into it anyway. “In Greek Mythology, there was a centaur named Chiron who was wise and generous…”
Ran knew the myth, perhaps better than Shinichi, but she leaned back against him as he talked, the sake giving her courage to rest her head on his shoulder. This close, she could feel the vibrations of his voice as he spoke, and gradually his arm wrapped around her back, too. She let his voice wash over her as she soaked in the dizzying expanse of the starry sky.
It lasted until he suddenly sneezed.
“I’m alright, I’m alright!” he said when she lifted her head in concern. Then he sneezed again.
Ran shucked the jacket off hurriedly. “My god, why didn’t you say you were cold? We could have switched off, or I could have gone back for another.”
“I’m…I’m no — ACHOO!”
Ran wrapped the jacket back around a sniffling Shinichi. “Maybe we should go back inside.”
“No, no, I’m alright, I’m alright!” he reassured her, before sneezing a fourth time.
Ran stared at him in concern, before shifting onto her knees, her hand landing onto his arm and lightly squeezed. “Shinichi, let's go inside. It’s getting colder.”
“Ran…” he sighed before looking to the side, mumbling, “I wanted to stay longer…”
“Shinichi…” Ran gave a soft smile. “I want to stay, too. The stars are beautiful. But it’s not worth risking our health. And besides,” she chuckled. “We can still see the stars out the window, can’t we?”
He pouted a bit longer but couldn’t refute Ran’s words, so he reluctantly and carefully stood up. He gave Ran a hand, to which she latched onto and stood up herself. Her vision suddenly went blurry and her foot slipped on the slanted rooftop a little.
“Whoa!” Shinichi grabbed hold of her arm to steady her. She instinctively held onto him in return. “Ran! Steady, steady!”
Once she was able to get her sense of balance back in control, she breathed out in relief.
“Thank you, Shinichi. Sorry!” she giggled and rubbed her eyes. “It’s just the sake making me a bit dizzy, is all!”
He stared at her before relaxing a bit but still tense as he let go of her. “Just be careful.”
Even as he said that, she could hear him slurring a little. She giggled again. “I could say the same for yourself!”
“Yeah, yeah,” he grumbled softly before carefully bending down and grabbed the picnic basket and the blanket, then handed the latter to Ran, to which she took. He then gestured at the edge of the roof. “Ladies first.”
“Why, thank you,” she curtsied a bit before carefully walking the short steps towards it. She carefully crouched down close to the ladder.
“Be careful,” he cautioned.
She nodded and began climbing down the ladder. Once she reached the stable floor, she stepped away a bit and waited for Shinichi to finish his climb.
“You good?” she asked once he’d found his footing.
“Yeah.”
“Then let’s go inside!” Ran nodded to the door and walked towards it.
Upon opening it, she went inside before stopping and stared behind her at Shinichi, who was still at the ladder, staring at nothing. “Well? C’mon inside!”
He seemed to snap out of his mind. “Uh, yeah. I’m coming.” He turned around and walked, almost stumbled, towards the door. He looked funny walking like that, and she almost giggled again.
Until Shinichi tripped upon the door frame. “Whoa!”
Ran’s martial arts instincts, blurred as they were by alcohol, kicked in, and she caught Shinichi before he hit the ground.
“Th-thanks,” he muttered once he regained his balance, not looking at her, but he didn’t let go of her, and she didn’t loosen her grip either. He was so nice and solid. The outdoors chill still clung to his clothes, reminding her of the cold, clear loveliness of the night sky. “...Ran,” he said hoarsely, and she felt his hand go snaking through her hair, his other arm returning her embrace.
“Mmm?”
“Did you — did you like tonight? I tried my best.”
“I loved it. Thank you, Shinichi.” She finally drew back to meet his eyes. They were more beautiful than all the galaxies and constellations outside, and she couldn’t help but stand up on her tiptoes and press closer to him — even closer, until their lips touched.
His lips were dry and gentle, and though the kiss was short, in that instant Ran lost herself in the soaring infinitude of the stars themselves. Shinichi’s arms were still wrapped around her, one hand tangled in her hair.
“You know,” he said in a low voice, “we have enough food and snacks to last until dawn. We’re down here anyway, and we can grab extra blankets and a better jacket for you.”
“You mean…”
“Do you want to see the sunrise?”
Anything, Ran thought. Anything to stay near him. On a rooftop, on a darkened landing, on the way to school, in her room with the door shut. Beneath the night sky, beneath a roof, beneath the clouds, beneath the sun and wind and rain.
“I wouldn’t mind,” she heard herself saying. She hit him. “But it had better be good, or else!”
He chuckled. “Of course. What do you take me for?”
Instead of answering, she pecked him on the lips and leaned back a little, grinning. He stood still, blinking, before chuckling again.
“Oh, you cheeky little…” He leaned down and kissed her full on the lips. The kiss left her feeling all tingly and warm. She loved it. She wanted to stay in his embrace like this. Forever.
But forever couldn’t last. Their lips parted for a much needed air. They stayed close, breathing. Their eyes connected for what seemed like long moments, before they laughed.
“Let’s go in before we miss the sunrise!” she chirped.
Shinichi nodded, bent down to pick up the basket and thin blanket, and led her inside.
And so they stayed up all night inside, chatting about everything and nothing, with a few make out sessions, staring at the beautiful night sky until the sunrise. And even then, they still stayed past dawn until both of them inevitably fell asleep.
It was the most beautiful night she’d ever had, and she knew Shinichi felt it too.
Of course, both of them caught colds and they were chewed out for staying outside for too long. But they wouldn’t have it any other way.
She was planning on more nighttime dates another time.

Get to Know Your Moots Writeblr Interview
Thanks to @davycoquette for coming up with these!
On the Tumblr Writing Community
How long have you had your writing Tumblr/Writeblr?
About two years?
What led you to create it?
I used to have a Tumblr a LONG time ago but deleted it all and moved on. I came back after getting into Touken Ranbu because I wanted a place to write my long-form thoughts, and then I started writing my original fiction.
What’s your favorite thing about the Writeblr community?
I really like the tag games!
What’s one thing you’d like your mutuals to know about you?
I'm very shy and probably won't respond as much as you'd like. I promise I'm not mean, I'm just socially awkward even on the internet.
Is there anything you’d like to see more of on your dash?
I do love a good moodboard.
What tips/advice do you have for someone who made a Writeblr today?
Just jump in and start talking about your stuff, don't worry about introducing everything.
WIP it Good
Which Works-in-Progress (WIPs) or writing projects are you noodling about, lately?
Prisoner!WIP, which for some reason hasn't given itself a name yet. It's about Orrinir being taken captive by the Sinans while Cerie and Uileac attempt to rescue him. Moodboard here
How long have you been working on them?
10 days, I'm at about 12k now
Do you remember what inspired them/what got you started?
I realized that my series needed an actual close-up confrontation between the Bremish and the Sinans before the grand full-length trilogy. This is one of the 5 novellas before the last three books in The Eirenic Verses.
How much time, in your best estimation, do you spend thinking about them?
A good four or five hours every day
When someone asks the dreaded, “What do you write about,” question, what do you usually say?
"Fantasy stories." If they're curious, I may go into more detail.
Let’s Rotate Blorbos
Name any characters you created.
Cerie Korviridi Uileac Korviridi Orrinir Relickim Haniya Aina Mordrek Willets Susuma Aina Daiski Aina Ono Kagan Rhen Haratshi Juliska Sygnus Irith Druidinn Vinanna Nishi Toltis Nishi Tshumanu Mialt Sagremor Waals Asari Camellia Rhytha Sergeant Paltrik Carrot (mule!) Saelsie (horse!) Bannain (horse!) Erix (horse!) Keeva (horse!) Aleric (dog!) There are probably more but I can't think of them right now
Who’s the most unhinged?
Mordrek. Hands down. The man is terrifying.
Who comes the most naturally for you to write?
They all come pretty naturally at this point, except Haniya can be kind of hard. Sometimes it does take a bit to get into their POV, though.
Do you ever cringe at them?
Not really, no, they tend to do their thing pretty well
How much control do you feel you have over your characters?
I don't have much control over them. I just channel them and they do their thing, and I write about it.
Do you enjoy people asking questions about your characters?
You can send me asks about my characters if you like, but I'm not always sure if I'll have a good answer depending on what it is. For example, if you asked me something like "what would be Cerie's favorite TV show," I would have no idea because #1 I don't even watch TV myself, like at all #2 TV doesn't exist in her world
On Writeblr Engagement
What makes you want to follow another Writeblr account?
Good writing or intiguing characters. That's the primary thing. I'll then go through a person's intro (if it's there) and see if they seem interesting and not likely to annoy me.
What makes you decide against following?
I will take a look at your introduction or profile and assess for these things. Being underage: I refuse to corrupt the youths. Any sign of racism, sexism, etc: Instant block. Being Pro-Israel: Self-explanatory. Being Antishipper: You're probably aggro about other things too. Giant DNI list: I'll just assume I'm included on it and block you. List of Diagnoses: I am not your doctor and I do not need that. List of Your Triggers: I am not your therapist and do not need that. You are in charge of your mental health, not me. My primary reason for not following someone (or unfollowing them) is signs of Main Character Syndrome. It's my biggest pet peeve.

when your bf wants to experiment with you riding on top. he's gripping your thigh with one hand while the other holds the vibrating wand to your clit.
𓇼𓇼𓇼
The tv in the background plays a late night show on low, while you lay your cheek on his chest, one hand lazily rubbing small circles on his chest. He lays out on the bed, eyes on the tv. He’s got one hand behind his head and the other lightly massaging your hair. It’s moments like these that you love. It was just you two in the quiet world.
But the touching and massages always turn into something more. Especially when in the privacy in your bedroom you both are barely clothed in the first place. These moments always end in more heavy petting, where you both ruin the quiet air with raspy gasps and moans.
You're on his lap now, the both of you sat up. Your lips on his, mouths wet and moving in a dance. Your hands running through his hair, gripping his tresses desperately. His hands run down your back grabbing a handful of your ass, then up again to your back to pull you into him, getting your hips to move in a slow tandem on his growing bulge.
“Let’s try something different this time baby.” He says after pulling away from your lips, a small grin forming
“Like what?” You ask, going back to kiss his cheek then his jaw—
“Just stay on top and you’ll find out.” You pull away and raise an eyebrow at the suggestion. “Don’t worry, I promise you’ll like it.” He smiles innocently.
Except maybe you like it too much.
“Hahh, please!” you exclaim, feeling him buck up into you again. Hands flexing in the air, knowing you couldn't touch anywhere.
He’s got one hand around your thigh, squeezing every so often, while the other holds the wand still. You’re struggling to control your sounds when the powerful vibrations coming from your sex toy rubs on your mound. Then the force of his cock drives up again and you can't help but let out a scream. Your neighbors are sure to get a kick out this tonight.
“Remember you can’t touch, stay still baby.” he mutters, eyes watching what he can see himself move in and out of the tight grip you have on him.
You’re struggling keeping yourself upright, the stimulation of everything making your head fuzzy and your body shaking. He won’t relent on the pounding, you barely doing any of the work.
“Nngh, stop! Please! n’t take it anymore!” you cry, tears welling up, hands coming down to rest on his chest to keep yourself upright.
“I know, I know. Feels so good.” he coos at you, reveling in the erratic movements of your body, “You can take it.”
He moves the toy away and tosses it aside, both hands coming to grip your hips to hold you in place as he bucks deeper into you. Hitting that gooey spot over and over to help finish you off.
“Oh my god—I’m cumming, I’m cu–” you’re cut off from your words by the force of your orgasm, juices squirting out as your mouth opens in a silent scream. Your body jolting at the powerful contractions happening in your abdominal cavity.
“Oh baby, did you just squirt?” he lets out a small laugh as your arms give up and you fall forward onto his chest, sweaty and breathing heavily. All you can do is let out a quiet whimper.
“Hold on baby. I didn’t get to cum yet.”
toji, kento, satoru, eren, connie, armin, jean, suguru, isagi, yuta, kaeya, takuma, sae, ryusei, hanma…whoever else seems right to you

October Writing Challenge Day 15 Pumpkin
With permission and the trust from Mother Nonou, Kabuto walks hand to hand with Aina as they head back to Aina's farm to go pick up some crops for dinner. Today it was Kabuto's turn to go with Aina to bring the food back as part of his lessons about running errands and learning basic math when it comes to money.
The other two nuns insisted that Nonou teaches Kabuto these things early as times like these when children need to learn quickly. Since even they might need to learn the value of chores and doing errands for their parents long after they get adopted.
Dragging the empty old utility grocery cart behind him with a handle, Kabuto looks around the trees and the cloudy skies. He's wearing his own warm scarf and his boots since the weather has been getting colder these days and Kabuto had just recovered from his own sore throat two weeks ago. He did however love how the trees and the leaves are falling about and decorating the ground with the red, yellow, and orange colors.
"I didn't know that you live just a bit far from us Aina. I can't believe that you walk from here to our place and then to Konoha. But it must really be tiring and stressful when it gets dark, rains, or snow. Winter is in a few months after all." Kabuto says as he does a little hop on the leaf to crush it under his foot to give it that good satisfactory crunch sound.
"Well, first it helps t' get up at th' crack'a dawn. Get all th' chores done you need done 'fore anythin' else. Which's why it's import'nt to go to bed early. Plus by now, I've done learned all th' shortcuts 'round this place. An' when a place's very far or I got a big load t' carry, I take my tricycle an' wagon." She answered as she leads the way to the farm, which is lucky that the wooden fence is the main clue that they're going the right way. On the same road as them, a couple using a large wagon pulled by a horse that carried quite a lot of vegetables on the back of the cart and they both were heading back to the village.
"Hello you two." The wife of the man greets them in a friendly manner as they pass through. And both Aina and Kabuto step aside to let them pass and they bow as they leave. As soon as they pass, Kabuto then tries to look on ahead when they're at least a mile from the farm.
"That man and his wife. They bought a LOT of vegetables! Like as if they're planning a large dinner or festival! I think we should hurry. What if all of the vegetables are gone by now?" Kabuto said as he is now slightly rushing towards the place, holding Aina's hand while also trying to drag the cart behind him too.
Aina though she's not too worried about the vegetables running out, she does notice that Kabuto was concerned so she decides for his sake to also hurry by walking quickly while helping Kabuto pull the cart.
The view of the small farm is now getting closer and closer as the brown fence is reaching the bend and towards the farm. Kabuto slows down his steps as he now looks around the small farm from the front. From far away, he sees a figure moving about before heading inside. Probably Aina's mom or another customer?
"Is that the place? It's a lot different than what I imagined. I thought that you guys would live surrounded by large fields of hay and stuff. Like in the pictures of story books or magazines. But it still looks pretty and comfortable."
She giggles but she's also glad that the boy isn't dragging her so much anymore and now they're able to walk at a normal pace, "Ahaha, oh, Kabuto. You mus' be thinkin' bout people with manors. Those farmers got much more land than we do. Yep, farms act'lly come in all shapes-n-sizes. But we're happy with ours. Ain't never let us down."
"And considering if that couple that passed us that might've bought the vegetables back there. That means that your crops must be really good, even if your place isn't as big. Different and all shapes and sizes... I like it. Since bigger isn't always better." He looks around the outside of the house as they get more closer till they are right at the doorstep.
Now not so much as in a rush since there's nobody there other than him, Aina, and the woman in the store. He is the first to knock on the wooden pillar to let her know despite that she had already seen them coming.
"Aina, is that your mom in the store? She looks a lot like you." He assumed that she would be as kind and friendly like her too.
"Yes she is." Aina nods, though she did worry about if Kabuto won't be intimidated by her personality since even she knew that her mother isn't as friendly as she is.
He stands in front of the various vegetables and he reads the numbers and the names on them. Though reading the list that he has, he looks around more for the other vegetables that were not on the display. Aina guides him to shed and his eyes widen as he sees the tomatoes and sweet potatoes that he needs to pick up.
But before he could move, he pauses when he feels someone staring at him and he turns to the dark skinned woman with the apron who was counting the money, even though she's already done and is now putting it away in a box, she is giving him a rather serious stare. Her attention however is on the Konohagakure Orphanage symbol on his kimono.
"Keep an eye on that child, Aina. Last thing I need is a troublemaker messing up my store. And leave that cart out since I don't want you hitting anything either." She said sternly while turning to Aina for a moment before looking back at him.
Great. Another child from that place and an unfamiliar one that is not the mature one with the hat and birthmark on his nose. She hopes that Kabuto isn't like the insolent girl from the Orphanage who tried to haggle with her with the prices on the strawberries. The girl called her an "stupid old hag" for not willing to deal with the outrageous cheap price and then kicking a display stand's wooden foot so hard, the foot broke and the fragile plums that she cherished herself all fell onto the ground, bruising and ruining the entire bunch. If it weren't for Aina getting between them, she would've not only beaten the girl, but also refused the money and dragged the snotty brat out of the store by the hair. Even if it has been months ago when it happened and Mother Nonou thankfully paid for the damages, it still left a bitter taste in her mouth.
"Y-yes ma'am! I promise that I won't cause trouble for you or Aina." Kabuto politely bowed to her despite being unnerved by her intimidating stare before turning around and gently putting the right amount of tomatoes in the bag and then with his fingers. Counting on the prices while also keeping his hands to himself. Kabuto was thankful that there was plenty of vegetables left even though it looked like it was just about to run out. While waiting, Airi noticed how Kabuto would casually put the produce in their right places and in order while looking around for the items he need when he didn't need to. Seems that this child knows how to clean up and organize.
8 tomatoes 3 cabbages 6 sweet potatoes 8 regular potatoes 6 carrots 2 cauliflowers 3 eggplants
Kabuto was careful with the costs of the items and even counted quietly on both money and the produce. Or at least he thought he did as he picked the biggest ones he could find and he put them on the cart.
His attention was caught on the perfectly shaped small pumpkin that was on one of the displays along with the other larger ones. He has been curious to know how pumpkin tastes like since Urushi told him that he has been craving for pumpkin pie the other day and how it's always delicious to eat around this time of the year.
Perhaps he could buy it for him and maybe Mother would be happy with it too? A small one of course, since the big ones were way too expensive and too big for him to carry home.
He looks at the cash in his hand and he counts what would he have left if he could buy it.
Tumblr media
Being so sure that he could get it, he picks up the one that catches his eye and he puts it on the cart. "I think I got everything Aina. I think I have enough money for an extra item too."
He smiles as he immediately heads to the counter with the money ready in hand. Aina then follows him and starts to take out the scale in hand, "Oh, oh wait. You gotta let us--ahaha, 'lettuce'--ah, let us weigh it. Our prices're ain't based on how many of a fruit or vegetable ya got. We figure it out based on how many kilos your pick weighs."
Kabuto's happy face slightly frowns, though he did catch the joke but he had no time to laugh at it, "What? I... I didn't know that. Oh no, I picked out the biggest ones I could find..."
"At least you'll know and be aware of that next time boy. And don't hold the money out in your hands like that. You're easy pickings for thieves to steal from you if you're not careful." Airi advised rather strictly while waiting for Aina to finish weighing the produce. Kabuto gulped as he puts the bills of money in his pocket quickly. Not that there was any need to worry since there was no one around other than the three of them.
Fortunately for Kabuto, he had enough money for all of the produce that was on the list, except for the pumpkin.
"You don't have enough for the pumpkin boy." Airi commented as she puts the pumpkin on the table away from the bags.
Kabuto frowned at that. "Oh no, I'm sorry ma'am. I'll go put it back for you once I pay you the money for these items." He sadly looks at it as he hands the money to Airi who slowly counts the money he gave her, just in case. Kabuto thinks about how he could take out at least two of the produce, but then that would mean less food for just one item and Mother did say to not try to buy unnecessary things.
Airi eyes Kabuto for a moment as he's trying to calculate on what to do even if he is willing to accept that he won't have to buy the pumpkin. She hesitantly sighs as she pushes the small pumpkin toward him, it's the least she could do for his good behavior and because she needed to get rid as much of the produce as she can for her and Aina's planned trip outside the village. "You can add this to the cart, boy. It's on the house and nice job putting the items back in their proper places for me."
Kabuto's eyes open and he slightly gasps as she presents the pumpkin he was holding to him, he was smart enough to know that not every kind act would get him free stuff. But he had no idea that she was paying attention to him cleaning up and putting the items back where they belong. Even though she was scary, she does seem nice after all.
"R-really? I can have it? Are you sure? T-thank you, ma'am!" He picks up the pumpkin and he holds it in his hands. Feeling the smoothness of the skin on his fingertips.
"Make it last, boy. Next pumpkin ain't gonna be free." She said while waiting for Aina to be done helping Kabuto put the items on the cart.
"Yes ma'am. I'll remember that. Thank you for the crops. Goodbye now." Kabuto politely bowed to her before adding the small pumpkin to the cart. Neatly right on the spot where it won't crush the other crops or fall off.
Before Aina could leave with Kabuto, Airi then calls for her to wait and she hands her an list of orders from other customers, "Oi. Kame. If you're gon' take that boy back to his place, go on an' take up that basket over there. Here's th' order list. Get these deliv'ries t' ev'rybody on this list, an' get back here 'fore dark. Got it?"
Aina nods, "Yes Mama!"
"Repeat back t' me what I done tol' you t' do." She crosses her arms.
"Take Kabuto home, make these d'liver'ies, get back here 'fore dark." Aina repeats with her eyes closed and with her hand clenched onto a fist while one hand counts the three things to do.
"Good. Now get goin'." She nods as she puts the money that Kabuto gave her into the money box.
"Thank you again, Ma'am. Have a nice day!" Kabuto said kindly as he also bows to her again before leaving with Aina while holding her hand and helping her pull the cart even though she got it covered. As if giving her extra strength to pull it.
"So Aina, I overheard that your mother wants you back home before dark, and I did see that there was some things put away like storage boxes. Are you going somewhere after this and would you guys be okay to travel when the weather changes? I don't think you should travel too much around this time of the year." The boy holds onto her hand a bit tightly as if to show her his concern.
Aina thinks as she helps him pull the heavy wagon for him while he follows her. "Well, ah, I wouldn' say we travel that much. S'only th' sea turtles we really care about in th' world outside Konoha. We go twice a year. Th' first in May, th' second in October." Her feet step over a few leaves on the path as she continued, "Me an' Mama go t'gether, jus' th' two of us. We camp as much' we can--which's actually very fun once ya learn how t' do it well!--an' rain never bothered me. We need th' rain t' live, don't you know! "Snow? Ahahaha! Well now, I ain't never been through a lotta snow! So I can't say how I'd cope if I did get caught in a blizz'rd. Hafta get back t' you on that."
"So this would mean that you won't be out in the winter then? Thank goodness for that! Aina, your mom even though she is scary. She sounds like a nice lady, especially when she gave me this pumpkin for free. I know that she won't give stuff for free, but I'm really happy that I can bring one since I've never eaten pumpkin before."
The walk back to the orphanage was a nice and peaceful one, and one that Kabuto would always remember when Aina's mother is mentioned in their talks.
A planned drabble with my friend @super-kame-love

Mata Aetara MC; Hayanori Kajiyama
Author's Note: 4 of 4, will link the others Below. I can't get over how freaky this boy can be like SHIT what have I done? Be warned, they'll stare straight through you lmao

Credits: This is a MC for the interactive fiction game/book Mata Aetara, found @mata-aetara-if. Check it out if you like Naruto!
Tumblr media
Preferred Name: Hayanori Kajiyama ("Nice to meet you....")
Alias: Nori
Gender + Pronouns: demiboy + he/they
Sexuality: gay
Chakra Affinity: wind
Summoned Animal: A raven
Weapon: kunai
Romance: Inoru/Ryoku
More About Him: It’s hard for Hayanori to express his emotions. People question whether he feels at all. Their speaking voice is monotone, not giving away their thoughts or feelings much to their dismay. This leads to them outright stating how they feel, with sometimes comedic timing. He often misses social cues and generally has a hard time reading the room. If he says something wrong he’s quick to apologize, but might not get why whatever he said is wrong and would ask someone to properly explain it. They can be a bit too blunt, which can also upset people. Nori often does things to show people that they care for them and ended up becoming a medical ninja due to the reasoning “What better way to show people I care for them than physically taking care of them when they’re hurt?”
When not worrying over people’s wellbeing, he likes to play pranks on others and generally be a menace. Notable examples are moving objects people put down to inconvenient spots, chasing people around with bugs and making noises to purposely annoy people. This tendency to cause trouble for others and his blank expression makes people think he’s quite creepy. They don’t mean any real harm to others. He just thinks it's funny to mess with people.

First name can mean “Fast love/affection” and surname can mean “Key mountain”
Has really big eyes, like arachnidray on tiktok (Videos for reference)
Speaking of eyes, can go an excruciatingly long time without blinking and likes scaring people he doesn’t like by staring into their soul.
Idk but I have this scene in my mind where Nori is eating something and it gets smacked out of their hand. They stare at it for an awkward amount of time before just saying “sadness” and walking away lmaoo
Nori is inspired by Souichi from Junji Ito’s works and Sai from Shippuden.
If someone wants to vent to them, they’ll ask “do you want advice? Or do you just want to get it off your chest?” so he don’t accidentally give unwanted advice.
Uses writing as an emotional outlet; because their writing is like a glimpse into their mind, he’s very protective of his notebook and only lets close friends read whatever’s inside. ("No, you may not look in my notebook. Do not ask again.")
Has very colorful clothes and a surprisingly big closet. Will let people borrow or even keep his clothes, provided that they fit.
Eats because they need to, not because he wants to. Also doesn’t have a favorite food. They do have a favorite drink, it’s watermelon juice. ("For me? Thank you. This makes me happy...")
On the topic of food, his taste buds are fucking broken. Most things either taste bad or have no taste at all to him. If you give him a lemon, they’ll eat it like an orange. Same with a lime.

here's something from my most recent chapter draft (it's kind of long, so there's more below the cut)
Hal laughed from her papa’s other side, moving his chestnut mare forward a few steps. She had a neatly pulled mane and was swiveling her ears about and looking alertly around the courtyard, but standing quietly enough.
“You have to wonder where she gets it from,” he teased, looking between the two of them. “Certainly not you.”
“Of course not,” he played along, settling more comfortably in the saddle and loosening his horse’s reins. Hal murmured something else she couldn’t hear, still smiling, and her papa laughed in response—actually laughed, genuine and bright and warm.
She hadn’t realized how much she’d missed it. For a second she thought she was going to cry again, and she still didn’t know why.
Maybe I’m concerned about nothing. Maybe it won’t be all that different, going home.
“We’d best get started,” her papa looked at the brightening sky, shielding his eyes with one hand. “We’ve a long road ahead of us today.”
Hal gave a sharp whistle through his fingers to quiet the guards’ chatter. The silence that followed was broken only by the stamp of shod hooves on the cobbles as the horses tried to contain their energy.
“We’ll head northwest until we cross the Torfiell river. We should approach Lairnil by nightfall, and cross Rhorn’s border sometime tomorrow,” her papa told the soldiers. She supposed there wasn’t much to say, but she’d expected something more…not formal, but maybe more official-sounding than that, to begin the trip. “In four days we should reach Ferynd’s southern stands, and Tarnuvin’s gates in another two, if the weather and our luck is favorable.”
Six days, nothing more, and then I’ll be home.
“Stay in formation until we’re outside of the city,” he continued. “Once we’re out of the gates, we’ll keep to the western road.”
The elves turned their horses towards the road. Therien tried to shove her nerves back down into her chest, but Natha followed quietly near the middle of the group as they formed lines of two, and kept an easy distance from the soldier’s horse in front of her.
“Good morning,” said a voice, approaching from just behind her, cheerful and vaguely familiar. “Though, I guess it’s a bit too early for the morning to be good.”
“Therien—this is Aestarn, they’re a junior councillor that accompanied us since Aina couldn’t attend. I heard you’ve already met them, though?”
“At the market, two days ago,” she interrupted, giving the dark-haired elf a wave. Aestarn was wearing comfortable-looking traveling clothes, and atop their roan horse they thumbed through a small leatherbound book.
The road they took from the Palfrey and Hearth led through Durnthain’s business district, which was already bustling as the sunrise began in full. Therien kept her eyes straight ahead and tried to ignore the sounds of the street, the riders and people on foot passing them by. She was sure she must look painfully out of place, her shabby Riddana-styled clothes next to the smart uniforms and armor of the guards. She kept her eyes on the banner Hal carried from the front of the column, visible through the polearms held by each rider, and patted Natha’s shoulder as the horse continued on unfazed.

The Legend of Risen Devils is a story best told in four parts. Aina is an unreliable storyteller, not because she's dishonest, but because she can't tell the difference between dreams and reality. Approach her in four different ways, and you'll hear four different stories.
These four stories are: Lessons, Personal, Factual, and Recovery. Links below to the other parts.
Legend of Risen Devils: Lessons
Legend of Risen Devils: Factual
Legend of Risen Devils: Recovery
Legend of Risen Devils: Personal
You're a young kid. When you see that black dress covered in lilies, the one you've heard of, you run up to introduce yourself, "Hiya, I'm Fedrys and I like rainbows. What's your name?"
When she responds it sounds like she's a big adult, "I'm Aina. I'm cursed with a sad story. Do you want to hear it?"
You lie, "I've heard sad scary stories before. So I'm okay. What's the story?"
My parents' were desperate to prove that breaches are small, limited and safe only because they are bound by language. Their theory is that if you could open a breach without language, you could make them bigger and without limits.
What my parents taught me is that it's a shame that elemental breaches and rifts are one-way. Elements flow to us through breaches but nothing of ours may return to the planes. My parents' formula opens two-way breaches that are stable, unlike rifts which destabilize with time.
My good parents did that. They risked it all. For a while they were fine and things seemed okay. I had a stone father and a mother with fire hair. It took a week for the elements to take over. My parents forgot things and lost themselves while the elements saturated their bodies. My father is petrified; my mother is a speechless flame.
It could have been worse. My best friend Eira had it worse. Her father invented the solution. When he proposed the solution to my parents, he was a coward to not try it first. When my parents were becoming unwell, he was a creep who tried to trick me into being his next victim. He nearly kidnapped me.
Eira and I spent a lot of time in the lab. Anytime our crazy parents' wanted to run experiments, they would usually drag us along with them. Unfortunately for us, I was afraid of using my powers and Eira was disabled. Since roughly around when the ascensions began, reality warps around us now, changing on our whims, and there's no cure.
Reality also warps around another girl, Dusk. Her favourite hangout spot was behind the lab building. She was a homeless street-painter who does favours for people and paints art on buildings to keep living. She could have had basic assistance or lived in an orphanage, but she preferred her independence.
After that lunatic father of Eira's tried to kidnap me and force me into the elemental chamber, I said my final goodbyes to my dying parents at home. I lived there until the food ran out then tried living on the streets. I got lucky and met Dusk. I began teaching her to read and write while she taught me how to survive.
While Dusk and I were living homeless together, becoming closer friends, Eira didn't have life easy either. When her mother, Eliyra, heard and saw how her daughter had been coerced into ascension, she was furious. the marriage was over and Eliyra wanted to get herself and her kid as far from this lunatic god as she could.
The way Eira describes it, her and Eliyra's revenge was legendary. If life was a game to this devil-god father, oh goodness she'd play. In the end, nobody was hurt and he had underestimated Eira's fox-like cunning. Eira had thought to sneak into the lab and let her mother become the most powerful being in the universe.
After Eliyra's ascension, she immediately found Dusk and me. She adopted us as her own daughters and took care of us. Eira, Dusk and I were safe to be ourselves, and discover how much we had been warped by the lab's radiation. Meanwhile Eliyra sheltered us from the world's horrors and the coming storm.
I remember one night, I looked up into the sky with my telescope expecting to see stars and distant cities. Straight up in the void of endless sky, there should have been Ferula City. There should have been stars in the void, like cities but free-floating like flowers flying in the wind. All of my world was dim that night. Cities were dark and stars were dead in the sky. Ferula? Ferula city was completely gone.
"Ascend or Die" was repeated in the news everywhere, especially by fear-mongering ascended gods. Society as I knew it... it just collapsed. While the ascension of our whole civilization seemed inevitable, people were going missing. The nature of ascension changed, but people kept ascending anyway. Too many people believed the legends.
Before our world became completely unrecognizable, Eliyra found a solution. She has mastered enough of her ascended powers for us to escape the 5th age. Eliyra, she was amazing; she saved more than just my sisters and I.
I'll never forget that last day before our escape. Millions of people came to a lake where a star had fallen. The star, it came alive. Using her own breaches to bring it to life, Eliyra gave us and millions of others a new place to live and a future to look forward to.
In our star, we left everything behind. We travelled to the furthest point in the planescape. We made a new world hidden away from the gods of the 5th age. Here in Ferula we are free.
