Elkapott a "nem tudom, mit olvassak" érzés, valami tuti nem stimmel nálam, 500+ olvasatlan könyvvel a birtokomban. :D Na, de ez legyen a legnagyobb bajom! . A túlélőt vagy két éve vettem egy könyves állványról, amikor utoljára otthon jártam. Szóval vagy másfél éve. Egyébként így elöljáróban még nem akarok véleményt alkotni, de érdekesnek tűnik. Egy reality műsor áll a középpontban, amelynek keretében a résztvevőknek az a feladata, hogy az erdőben, mesterségesen generált negatív események hatására a végsőkig tartsanak ki. Felváltva kapjuk a fejezeteket az egyik szereplő szemszögéből, E/1-ben, majd jön a készítők oldaláról E/3-ban. Az borítékolható, hogy valahol nagyon félre fognak menni a dolgok, kérdés, melyik oldalon. I received an advanced reader copy of Forget Me Not from Random House Publishing Group- Ballantine Books via NetGalley, in return for my honest opinion. Forget Me Not by Alexandra Oliva is a story about overcoming past tragedies and realizing who we really are. Linda Russell basically raised herself, outside in the large, heavily wooded, walled in property that her mother owned. From a very young age Linda knew she was never going to be enough for her mother and could only rely on herself. Linda is set free one day when her mother leaves and doesn’t close the gate. Years later living on her own in an apartment in Seattle, Linda still hasn’t acclimated to the norms of society. Linda never truly learned how to have healthy, loving friendships and relationships. Anvi, a new neighbor of Linda’s, surprises her by being genuinely friendly. When Linda’s childhood home catches fire, Anvi and Linda drive there to see what’s left. Linda discovers that her past isn’t everything she remembers thus sending Linda on a path of self discovery. This was a great book, but moved quite slowly- I did really enjoy watching Linda come out of her shell. Forget Me Not is available now. Here are my Top Ten-ish Mystery/thriller/crime fiction of 2021. This is what I read the most so these are the best of the best. Carol Wyer and Angela Marsons with some great British crime fiction. None of their characters are safe 😱 I’m Team Teddy all the way 👨🏼‍🏫😂 Every teacher is 😉 Forget Me Not is a great story from Oliva. Coben writes stories that are effortless to read and he is the master of the twist. Both Win and The Match are great. (The Match releases in March ‘22) John Sandford teamed up Lucas and Virgil for a great story. Whitaker and Cosby gave us great crime fiction characters. The Bounty is another great addition to the O’hare/Fox series. And my top thriller this year is A Caller’s Game by JD Barker. This is one of the most wildly entertaining books you might ever read. He literally takes your breath away and the ending is 🤯. Forget Me Not is the second novel from Alexandra Oliva. This publishes tomorrow, 3/2 and you should read it. "As a child, Linda was left to fend for herself in a large wooded property in rural Washington. One day she sees something she shouldn't and eacapes over the wall - into a world that she is not propared for. Years later she is living in Seattle, afraid to be seen - a victim of an erroneous hashtag. An unexplained fire at her childhood home forces her to return to her old memories and creating a chain of events that will make her question every memory she's ever had." This is a great follow-up novel. Oliva weaves the story to make us question what is real and what is not. You think the story is going one way but then goes another. But you're always pulling for Linda. I like the way that Oliva addresses a lot of societal issues without punching the reader in the face. It's more "What do you think about this? Why is this happening? We should talk." There's some science without the over-explaining of many recent books. And the coincidences during the Virtual Reality scenes make you question what's real (because of a story thread) I like that Linda grows and changes as a character. She shows some unexpected strength when her new friend, Anvi, is in danger. I like her ending. This is a book that you will want to add to the list quickly. There is something for everybody here. People named Exorcist, Tracker, Banker, Carpenter Chick, Black Doctor and Zoo.
