ARC Reader Dilemma

Hello friends! As you may know, the Kobo side of ARC readers kinda got upset at NetGalley for implementing a change we were not made aware of beforehand: they changed the .ACSM format of books to the LCP format. Unfortunately Kobo does not natively support the LCP format and while we have been told that Kobo has it on the roadmap and that NetGalley has heard the complaints and they are working on a solution, no timeline has been announced. Thanks to a random thread that popped up, I have found out how to convert the LCP format to one that is readable for Kobos a.k.a an EPUB. There will be a longer SubStack with all the necessary screenshots as well as a YouTube video with a tutorial so please keep an eye out for that (please be patient because I am a one-woman team over here). If you have any questions, please feel free to leave them below and I will try my best to answer. Additionally, if you need extra help, feel free to DM me (KINDLY) and I will do my best to direct you in the right direction. I received an advanced reader copy of The Lovely and the Lost from Disney Book Group via NetGalley, in return for my honest opinion. The Lovely and the Lost by Jennifer Lynn Barnes is a story about survival and coming to terms with our past. Cady and her kids, Jude and Kira, train dogs for search-and-rescue missions. Cady no longer actively participates in search-and-rescue missions. Not since she rescued Kira- a small, orphaned child lost in the forest. When someone from Cady’s past comes to her for help looking for a missing four year old in the Sierra Glade National Park, she can’t say no. Kira is sure if she can find the missing child, she’ll no longer be broken and her past will no longer haunt her. Kira’s dog, Saskia, can be a bit unpredictable, but Kira is sure that she’s up for the task. Now that Cady has returned to the place she once ran from, will the secrets from her past be exposed? Will Kira’s past help or hinder the search-and-rescue mission? I devoured this book, it was a fast enthralling read. I loved the unique story line. Book 38 of 2023 The Witch and the Vampire by @francescafloresauthor Thank you to @netgalley and @wednesdaybooks for the eARC. I really liked this one. Ava and Kaye are full of magic and secrets. Ava is on the run from her mother and step-dad, Kaye just wants to know who killed her mother - she thinks it's Ava (her former best friend). The forest provides a means of escape... but the forest has its own secrets. This is very YA, and I would have no problem recommending this to younger teens. The romance is very minor and sweet. 4 out of 5 stars. Recommend for those that liked The Midnight Girls or Cinderella is Dead. Happy Friday! . When reviewing a physical book, do you… 📚Mark important passages and names somehow that makes it easy to go back to? 📚 Take notes along the way? 📚 Just write from memory? . I use little post it tags: one color for names, one for important info like setting, etc., one for pivotal plot points, and one for quotes. Then when I’m done, I can remove them without damaging the book. . I read Ordinary Monsters both from a physical book and from a digital copy- so some notes were taken inside the Kindle app and others were marked on the physical one.
