Girl please, I saw that coffee video before and you did good with less than a minute, because I could only bear to watch 5 seconds as with anything TUA, and most likely S4 Five, triggers me instantly.

It was my comfort show, I can't count how many times I rewatched the wedding episode. Now I can't look at any content from the show without feeling like I saw a big spider I want to run away from screaming. I still try to heal from it and it's hard, but at least I eat more now.

I tried. I really tried to understand the plot to somehow come at ease with it and to understand "the other side". I read discussions about it, but decided to stay off from them now for my mental health. I read points that it wasn't cheating, that Lila wanted a break from her unhappy marriage, and they didn't know if they will ever return. That Five grew tired from saving the world and his ungrateful family and chose his own happiness, that the development was there since season 2 (yikes he was a child). But I can't, it's still too horrible. Nobody sees the things we could have had instead.

A friend from Aidan's fandom said that more scenes from Five and Lila got cut off (thanks god) when the episodes got cut, but even with more development, the decision was shit. I know Five grew more depressed, but he was so dead as boring, S1-S3 Five you will always be famous.

Please, you, ANYONE, give me all the good fix-it fics.

What would have been your favourite and fitting ending for Five?What would you have wanted to let him go through his last journey?

For the Five I know, dying making a noble sacrifice is too easy a way to end his story, (though that is by FAR not the worst thing about this season), I think the biggest challenge for him would be to learn to live and not just survive. Five's story is a love story, but not with Lila. It's about the love he has for his family. That love was at the centre of everything he did. He's spent his whole life enduring horror after horror, just to get to this point. He thinks that once he's achieved his goal, he might not be 'happy', but he will have what he needs. But when it finally happens, and he finds himself in a safe timeline, he still feels as lonely as he did in the apocalypse.

He needs to be loved, appreciated and understood by his family, and that's the journey I would have liked to see him go on emotionally. I can see this being catalysed by him being a little selfish, by him acting out and being resentful of the siblings who aren't giving him what he needs, even though he doesn't know how to ask for it.

By the end of the arc, I would want Five's siblings to truly see him and for him to feel seen by them. He just needs a hug. I've written about this before, in my fic Alias Number Five, which I think is my best work:

It centres around a Five after season 3 who finds himself in juvie. There he finds himself in mandated therapy where he reflects on his past and present. The story ends before his arc is completely resolved, but it leaves his siblings with the understanding of what he needs and the tools to help him.

Ok as i said i finished The Owl house and i loved it a lot so heres some random thoughts and opinions on the show i wanna share (spoilers)

-I love it

-i love what they did with Mattholomule in season 3 he's so good <3 they gave this guy an actual kinda character arc even though hes only relevant in like 3 episodes (also his name is actually Matt Tholomule which is so funny)

-ed and em are the best :3 i'm very bummed out they were barely in s3... they're a bunch of goofballs but can also be so thoughtful and sincere, especially to amity. one of my fav scenes ofcourse is in s2e5 when amity gives luz that adorable lil kiss (love them) and for some reason ed saying "bold move, sister" is just the cherry on top <3

-Lumity omg omg everything about them they're so cute <3 <3

-While i'm on the topic of the Blights uhh. Alador. I love that guy he's such a great guy i love him

-all of these so far are just me saying "i love them" but thats how it is so i dont care and i will keep going

-i love the Lulu-Hootsifer duo its so weird but they go so well together <3

-i like how Eberwolf, head of the beastkeeping coven, is just. a lil beastie guy. it's like "yeah this is our leading zoologist and veterinary expert, uhh he's a wolf or something idk"

-Darius is so good, love his dynamics with both Hunter and Eber

-Hunter <3

-Gus and Willow are soo great together <3 we don't see it that often but their friendship is so genuine and they're so supportive of eachother

-and yeah i love both of them so much, who woulda guessed

-speaking of gus s2e18 Labyrinth Runners omggg i love this episode its one of my faves <3 not only the backstories and the character developments are great, the illusions are soo damn cool i really want more of that (also Adrian Graye <3)

-why the heck is s2e8 so important to everyone's story but the episode is about and named after fucken hooty of all people?? i love this episode but why??

-do NOT get me started on s2e12: Elsewhere and Elsewhen i have a very complicated relationship with it

-Hunter had to come up with an alias when meeting Willow and Gus and on the spot he thought of Caleb?? Like, the guy he's like a clone of?? Which he didn't conciously know??? Like that's really fun and clever and i loved it when i realised that but it's just almost rude how they did that tbh (so cool tho)

-Raine Whispers <3 <3 <3 they're so cool and i love them and Eda and i love them in the finale and the bard magic is so cool omg

I should really sleep now but i'm most definitely gonna come up with many more things to say so get ready i guess

Rebels Rewatch: "Stealth Strike"

In which, Character Development! and other exciting features.

I mentioned the husband loves Star Wars ships right? This is another one of his favorite episodes, he loooves the Interdictor class.

Always liked this little musical flare at the beginning, already conveys a sense of urgency and danger.

Sato sounds so aggrieved that he has to have Ezra along, lol.

I mean from his perspective Ezra's just an overconfident plucky kid, he hasn't been around Ezra long enough to know how competent the boy is.

Love the staggered Force Theme prelude in the strings there, all broken up and disjointed. Once again Ezra is sensing impending danger.

Still adore the kaleidoscope color effect Rebels uses to mark being forcibly ejected/yanked from hyperspace.

Hera wisely understands that the best way to infiltrate a top-secret Imperial project is to keep the aliens off the mission lol.

Kanan is being predictably petty about having to work with Rex.

"I sent Ezra... this is the only way." Ouch. I bet Hera is feeling pretty guilty and has thought a lot about this since they learned about it, so you know she's run it through a million times in her head. Probably why Kanan acquiesces to her judgment.

I wanna know the thought process behind the Imps' decision to haul Ezra and Sato in to see Titus. Like, Sato I get, he's the obvious commander of the unit but I wanna know which trooper saw Ezra and was like, "Hmm, he seems Plot Important, I better drag him along too."

Sato still very much Not Impressed with Ezra's posturing.

It's hilarious that Ezra's sarcastically used "Jabba the Hutt" so often it's been logged as a known alias of his lololol.

The Giligan Cut between Rex complaining that he'd never wear Stormtrooper armor and Zeb bringing them unconscious troopers to steal the armor from. <3

"I thought it was the same one we used before." LOL. Okay, I gotta stop before I quote every line in this episode.

Can't help it, it's just so fun.

We cut to the shuttle mid-hyperspace and Rex and Kanan are still bickering, but even in the middle of that we get some lovely worried Papa Wolf Kanan hyperfocusing on Ezra as his priority.

I swear it was explained somewhere what the specific codes Rex gives meant but I can't for the life of me remember where now. Pretty sure one of them meant the shuttle was going to explode? Anyway...

Rex seems like he's having just a grand old time. This must feel just like the old days for him.

Lol Kallus getting excited about Ezra's capture and warning Titus "[...]do not underestimate that boy." He knows firsthand how much of a threat and nuisance Ezra can be.

A little variation on the Death Star theme here, kind of appropriate given this is a very similar-feeling kind of infiltration and rescue.

Maybe that's why I like this episode so much, has a lot of A New Hope vibes.

Subtle animation appreciation moment: Chopper's legs jerking as he rolls over the hump in the doorway.

The ANH vibes continue with this turbolift scene, which is just hilarious. From Rex not knowing which button to push to the Imperial officer snarking at our hero duo, it's just... *chef's kiss*

They are a disaster pair and I just love them.

Cut to the troopers that are escorting Ezra to his "secure cell" and I'm sorry, I adore this whole sequence. Ezra being a little hyper-competent badass is my whole jam, okay?

This is so clever. <3333

Ezra makes very short work of his guards, without really hurting them (something that would contrast in S3 after the whole Malachor Loss-Of-Innocence thing) and then immediately shoots his intended rescue party lololol.

I love how smoothly he moves through this whole scene. He's obviously been practicing and of course the Force operates on a principal of "the more at peace and in tune you are with yourself, the greater strength you can channel" so after his whole soul-searching in "Brothers of the Broken Horn" deal he's come to some kind of serenity within himself that lets him be just super awesome here. Love it.

Subtle animation appreciation moment: The way Ezra raises his hands in aggravation when Kanan and Rex get into it again.

Ezra finally chews the two of them out for all their bickering and takes charge of the mission and you can't even tell me he didn't make Kanan just a smidge proud, with that comment about how, "He takes after Hera sometimes." <3333

No but seriously, fandom of course loves Kanan and Ezra's whole "like my father before me" vibe but let's not forget how it was Hera who first took a shine to him, who saw potential in him, who knew that he wasn't as selfish as he pretended he was, drew out that inner spark of compulsive compassion planted by his parents and has been influencing him on the Rebellion side of things to complement Kanan's Jedi teaching.

Brom Titus looking a little less confident now that the scrawny fifteen-year-old he was specifically cautioned not to underestimate has given them the slip lol.

Very glad Ezra learned binary, it enables hilarious conversations like this.

This is yet another music cue recycled from the Death Star sequence in A New Hope. Like I said, they're really leaning into that this episode.

And his anxious worry over Ezra's welfare is really sweet. Sato does care, he might find Ezra bit aggravating but he's still just a kid in Sato's eyes, someone who was under his protection. (One wonders if Ezra reminds him of Mart a bit.) It's not Sato's fault he's only now learning what a precocious badass Ezra is lol.

This move of Kanan and Rex's is slick.

KANAN SALUTING REX NOT ONLY AS A SIGN OF FINALLY BURYING THE HATCHET BUT ALSO TAKING UP THE MANTLE OF SOLDIER HE WAS SO RELUCTANT TO AT THE BEGINNING OF THE SEASON.

This is one of the best episodes of the season, no joke. It's fun, it brings the nostalgia without being kitschy, it lets Ezra and Sato have a little bit of nice interaction (underrated relationship, fanficers have let me down), it shows how Ezra's developing in combat, it finishes the whole Rex and Kanan animosity plot, and Chopper murders three whole Imperial cruisers effortlessly.

Love it.

Setup and Payoff

Dear Rookie writers: <clenches fist, looks out longingly onto a field of continuity> Look. I get it. You had to execute the ship. You were moved to an earlier time slot, so less risqué content. You tonally shifted to a comedy. Covid fucked your timeline, etc etc etc. FINE. I give you all of that.

But for the love of all that is good and holy can you PLEASE WRITE NORMAL FUCKING STORYLINES THAT MAKE SENSE.

Screenwriting is simple. Setup. Payoff. Like, for example:

— setup: show actively sets up friend ribbing friend about a coworker crush/romance. The PAYOFF would be said friend loses their shit when the coworkers actually get together (examples: Boyle in B99, Jacob in Abbott Elementary, Michael Scott in the Office, Schmidt for Nick and Jess in New Girl).

— setup: show actively sets up consequences to office / coworkers finding out about secret romance. PAYOFF: actual work consequences happen (ie, Ben and Lesley break up in parks and rec).

— setup: characters CONFESS THEIR FEELINGS to OTHER CHARACTERS in an ensemble cast so that the audience knows there are actual emotional stakes. PAYOFF: we get emotional insights and CLEAR emotional STAKES. (Ie, B99, Parks & Rec, New Girl, The Mindy Project).

— setup: you have two characters who want to be together but can’t due to [insert obstacles]. Unresolved tension continues to rise until characters can be together. (Ie, Castle, X Files, Alias, ER, Buffy, Once Upon a Time).

Every single move the Rookie has made this year has deflated each setup like a fucking pin in a balloon. — Lopez ribs Bradford about Lucy and in the end neither supposed bff brings up the romance again, save Lopez over some dumb radio message? (And we never get some confessional from Lucy to Nyla or anyone about how she pined for Tim in UC school, and all we get is some throwaway “*That* Bradford” one-liner?)

— Season One of Talia warning Lucy re: Nolan so they break up, to Seasons 2-4 of Lucy being a subordinate to Tim so nothing can happen, to Grey warning them about office romances, and in the end, we get ZERO reactions from any characters that they’re together and ZERO consequences to the relationship other than some mild Post-It wrangling?

— The unresolved tension that starts off with a bang in S1, ratchets up in S2 and complicates itself S3 and S4, never ACTUALLY gets addressed by Tim or Lucy confessing their actual feelings to each other? Just suddenly “if we do this” to “our kids will be xyz” in a few episodes?

I JUST DONT GET IT. I DONT UNDERSTAND setting up a storyline that could be SO FULL of juicy confessions, angst, longing, pining and just maybe ONE LITTLE SEXY SCENE FFS only to turn it into the MOST bland and milquetoast ship. I KNOW these characters can do hot and sassy and argumentative because we’ve seen it. They can definitely to angsty. But this whole we’re-going-to-dial -down-every-emotional-payoff-to-a-mild-5….like….to what end, writers? TO WHAT END?

what made you pick up the muse you have? i wanted to try tumblr rp again (i had once in the past but i never stuck with it) and a friend convinced me it wasn’t so scary so i got to thinking well… who can i write and who do i kind of want to write? in my former rpc community, marvel was NOT a hot place… garbage fire actually, and if you were writing a canon it was even more of a dumpster fire. that being said, i really wanted to try my hand at peter parker, and i’d already been writing a lot for him outside of rp for fun. i used to have a little fic type thing that was ic/first pov and it brought me a lot of joy. liam was a test, more than anything. i’m surprised that they’re still a muse i write. they were an oc i made with a friend for fun and i thought why not give it a go and the love has just been so overwhelming that i can’t imagine a blog without liam and peter. they’re a package deal

is there anything you don’t like to write? probably just smut? i don’t think anything else comes to mind

is there anything you really enjoy writing? chaotic and nonsensical threads will always be some of my favorite. often it’s something i can write a lot quicker but also makes me think and try new things. i love when a thread makes me learn. i love learning so also any threads that open my eyes to something or broaden my knowledge about a subject. crossovers are really good for this because i get to explore new shows/movies or revisit loved ones.

how do you come up with your headcanons? something probably happened to me in the moment or i stared at a pinterest board or i heard it in a song

do you write in silence or do you play music? it takes a very specific kind of music to make me write. i either have to be so disinterested and unfamiliar with it or extremely familiar, like know all the words and the pacing. this has led to some embarrassing top five end of year songs

do you plan your replies or wing them? mostly i just wing it but if i get an idea for a future piece of dialogue or concept i will write it down in my notes

do you enjoy shipping? yes, but i don’t think it’s a must or priority! i love it if it happens or if you have any interest in it, but i’m not really always thinking about it

what’s your alias/name? birdie! i’ve had some mutuals call me bird too. i think it’s funny when people use the phrase “a little birdie told me” and i love to see posts with it and laugh to myself about it.

Waktu di kantor, saya bertemu ibu-ibu senior. Beliau akan pensiun di dua tiga tahun ke depan. Ibunya sudah menyelesaikan S2 di usia cukup senior, mungkin baru lulus di periode 2015-2016.

“Jadi gimana? Kamu jadi lanjut S3?”

Me: “jadi bu. Ini saya sudah daftar di UX”

“Ish, kenapa kok di dalam negeri, apalagi di UX, dapat apa kamu?” (Sambil raut wajah kesal)

Me: “dapat ijazah bu” - dalam hati

“Kan udah Gue bilang, ambil aja di luar negeri, ntar Gue hubungi temen professor disana bla bla bla..”

Me: “hehe iya bu”

Apa pelajaran yang bisa saya petik?

Mari jaga lisan dengan baik. Kita tidak mengetahui lawan bicara kita itu sedang atau telah melalui apa di hidupnya.

Memang ibunya bagus memberi saran. Tapi sayangnya itu bukan yang pertama, itu lebih ke sekian kalinya. Dan sarannya tetap sama, yaitu kuliah ya di luar negeri. Saya menggambarkan emosinya sebagai sebuah kekecewaan ketika mendengar saya kuliah di dalam negeri.

Analogi yang saya bangun, itu seperti “seorang jomblo yang menasehati orang yang sudah menikah dan punya anak”, alias kurang proper.

Kenapa demikian?

Karena ibunya belum pernah kuliah di luar negeri. Tapi kalo training dan workshop sering. Sorry to say beban nya beda. Ngga pernah merasakan challenge dan sufferingnya hidup di tanah asing.

Saya pernah meninggalkan keluarga saya selama dua tahun long distance international-ship Korea Jakarta. Bahkan saya tidak bisa hadir di pemakaman Bapak, karena tidak bisa pulang. Tahun lalu Bapak meninggal dunia tiga minggu sebelum saya sidang master thesis. Entah bagaimana keadaan saya waktu itu. Alhamdulillah Allah menguatkan pundak dan melapangkan hati saya dan keluarga.

Oleh karena itu, mohon maaf sebesar-besarnya kepada para senior disana, maaf saya tidak bisa untuk ke luar negeri kembali.

Saya sudah mengambil komitmen dengan istri untuk menjadikan keluarga sebagai prioritas utama. Family come first.

Saya ingin kembali kepada jalan yang baik, dimana saya bisa menunaikan kewajiban sebagai seorang suami bagi istri, seorang ayah bagi anak, dan seorang anak bagi ibu saya.

Saya mempunyai prioritas, yaitu keluarga, bukan omongan mereka.

Murder Girlfriends or something like that...

I don't know how I got here but I've been plagued with the thought of writing a Tim/Jaime fic except they're both girls and bi... (I'm projecting but anywho...)

So this is set in S3 of Young Justice, and around the time I think Bart and Eduardo started dating (idc what you say, I'm positive they have something for each other)

Say during the invasion Jaime and Bart had something going on and Bart absolutely enamored Jaime but when Eduardo showed up Bart fell in love with him as well just a little more than he was with Jaime.

So ofc he breaks it off with Jaime saying "Maybe in another life." and she's devastated because she loved her fluffy-haired boy.

So Jaime starts avoiding team outings that involve most of the team couples as she would just be third-wheeling the entire time and the jealousy she would feel ofc.

Tim on the other hand spends more time in Gotham than with the Team in the Watchtower or the Hub as she's not that close with people there (I mean DC practically took away her team, her shtick, and her friends so that leaves us with her Gothamite and assassin friends)

That is attributed to most of the Team members not being really accepting of her when she became Robin as they thought she was trying to replace Jason (which rude much, didn't he replace Dick too?)

So she had a few friends some she lost when she joined Batman Inc. She still has Steph and Cass though so she's not complaining. She broke up with her girlfriend Cassie and hasn't seen any sign of them getting back together.

Somewhere along the line Jaime starts going to the Watchtower and finds Robin there. They fight a bit because she was one of Tim's close friends before she left to join Batman Inc.

Then slowly she opens up to Tim about her feelings and how things have changed. Tim is an awkward bean but comforts her. Jaime frequently visits the Watchtower after that and Tim opens up to her after a while. She tells her about being JJ, how she feels inadequate, and yadda yadda all that.. One day Tim invites her to Gotham at night and teaches her how to train surf and use her grapple (which is unnecessary but still sweet) Tension rises but the sweet kind and oh...Jaime's falling in love again and Tim has butterflies in her tummy for some weird reason.

Then Batman dies (or so they think) and Tim thinks otherwise but others tell her she's just grieving. (At this point it's mid-season four ig, I'm really straying away from cannon)

Dick is Batman and Tim is still Robin because Damian hasn't been introduced yet and is still with the league...do you see where I'm headed?

Tim dips after she finds the first clue Bruce left when he way yeeted into the time stream and makes plenty of fake aliases and assassin friends on the way.

The scene where Cassie finds Tim is replaced with Jaime but she's encouraging Tim to look for Bruce and tells her to call when she needs help.

Since she doesn't wanna tarnish the Robin name, she makes a new alias to work with Ra's.

In the cave where the assassin from the Council of Spiders tries to off them, Tim calls Jaime. She's stuck bleeding out on the floor with three half-dead assassins.

Jaime answers the call and gets them to Tim's hotel where they're abducted by League Ninjas and taken to Nanda Parbat. Tim's thrown into the pit after losing too much blood during the splenectomy and Jaime's being held captive.

I'm just world-building rn but would this be a good fic or should I just scrap the idea?
