I respect the wishes of Palestinian activists and hope it’s not them doing this rather but loud non-Palestinians with good intentions, to them I have just one ask: stop asking for elon musk’s attention on Gaza or Palestine in general.

He is a racist. A white supremacist. An antisemite that allows neo nazis to roam on the social media platform he’s running into the ground. He actively tries to silence Palestinian voices while amplifying racist, Islamophobic, genocidal rhetoric. He does not care about the lives of Palestinians or any oppressed people under occupation because their oppression is what makes him and his friends wealthy. I kinda see why people are demanding he visit Gaza to see the destruction first hand but I have a sneaking suspicion that a man who grew up in apartheid South Africa in a family that owned a blood emerald mine won’t see suffering Palestinians as people but instead see their demolished houses as a real estate opportunity.

The ultra rich don’t fix problems, they create them, philanthropy is a scam. Gaza does not need dickheads like elon musk using their power and influence to encourage others to make exploitative decisions that ultimately lead to more ethnic cleansing.

When is enough enough???

I wanted to be an animator, animation studios are shut down and animation is not being treated with the proper respect it deserves

I wanted to be a writer, but they’re being excluded due to *briefly barfs* ai possibly taking over they’re jobs

I wanted to be a voice actor but they’re joining the writers strike (as they should)

I wanted to be a performer but they’re often abused and heavily controlled with impossible work schedules

And now I hear that unity is doing the same damn bullshit??? Cutting half of their games and raising their prices to force mostly indie devs off their platform???

Our dreams are being crushed under the horrible state and reality of capitalism

Artists already struggle to make a living for themselves, and unless your independent and plan on self releasing (which even that has problems) you’re screwed :(

My Financial Literacy teacher today told the class that on Tuesday it Wednesday when he heard that Hurricane Ian was going to hit Florida his first though was not and I quote "those poor families" but instead it was "oh I better invest in Lowe's". March and April have been super shitty for dayjob work and as such my bills are super behind, so much the power company wants to shut the power off if I can't make the next payment.

I need at least $90 before the 1st to make the payment and then another $100ish to finish paying it off. There's a couple other bills that are breathing down my neck and I'd also love to get some more food, rice and canned veggies is a little tired already.

I fucking hate that Disney is entering its pinkwashing era because now everybody’s just blaming the fact that the movies suck on “wokeness.”

Phase four of the MCU sucks because of bad acting, terrible writing, and oversaturation of CGI, but everyone’s attributing the poor quality filmmaking to “the gay agenda” and the fact that there are non-cishet characters included in the movies. Same deal with the new Star Wars movies.

The newer Disney films are bombing because they’re bland, uninspired, emotionless drivel, not because they have queer characters. But bigots will always jump right to the queer characters to explain why the films are shit.

And I can’t help but feel like Disney’s doing it on purpose. They know they haven’t had a single original idea in years, so they’re making a half-assed attempt to look progressive in hopes that queer viewers will care more about representation than about whether the movie’s good. And they also know that when, inevitably, the movie flops, they can scapegoat queerness and avoid responsibility for their shitty filmmaking.

And that’s what grinds my gears about this whole “The Gays ruined Disney!” thing. No, The Gays absolutely did not ruin Disney, Disney fucking sucks either way, shut all the way up, fuck Disney.

You know nothing has made me understand the concept of "labor is entitled to all it creates" like the current writer and actor's strikes. Like I def understood it in theory, but now I'm sitting here like yeah why the fuck do the shareholders and executives get the biggest chunk of the profits?? They would have absolutely nothing without the writers and actors and animators and tech crew, they're the ones who actually make the "product", and the profits should be divided between them.

I mean I know it's more complicated than that and that the workers obviously can't put that on the negotiating table bcs we just don't live in that sort of world, but fuck man forget a living wage, y'all should be getting the majority of the money the stuff you made earns. We all should. It's like that pizza place that split all the profits for one day with the employees and they ended up making like $84/h, that should just be the way it works all the time. And like I do think the people who fund stuff as it gets off the ground deserve to split some of the profits too, but the fact that they get basically all of the money is fucking insane. Fuck that.
