#also I haven’t watched s6 in a long time so I can’t be 100% of the accuracy of all of this

Tee, your tags on the Yev post are so correct! I absolutely think Mickey would have had a bigger storyline with Yev (and Svetlana) if he'd been in s6, alongside him and Ian being awkward exes who get back together eventually. I wanna do something with that in the s6 au I'm planning to write at some point, because it's so important for Mickey to be able to make a concerted effort to be a better man and dad than his own father was. And we know he's so much better than Terry, but Mickey ofc is so afraid of becoming his dad. And loving Yev and being there for him as a father is a way for him to heal from that generational trauma and not let himself be that person <3
Yes exactly!! I really think that this scene:
Tumblr media
Was setting up a storyline for the next season where Mickey builds a relationship with Yevgeny. Like to me, this looks like as much as he is struggling, he does love his son (and this is the first time he’s realizing that).
I made a post about this before and @atthedugouts mentioned in the tags that so much of Shameless is about whether a child will repeat the sins of their parents or make different choices and break the cycle, and there was sooooo much to explore about that with Mickey & Yevgeny.
Which would’ve been such an interesting storyline. Not that Mickey would ever be as bad as Terry, but I think it’s something he’d struggle with within himself. I could actually talk about Mickey in season 6 & 7 for hours lol, I have soooo many ideas. And Mickey & Yevgeny is my favourite unexplored storyline.
I’ve said before I think it would’ve ultimately changed Gallavich’s dynamic a bit, not at the beginning, but eventually (things change when you become a parent, your kid needs to come before your partner sometimes, and Mickey for the last few years had put Ian first for everything) and that’s something I think they’d need to work out while they’re in the midst of the re getting to know each other/ getting back together stage.
But even outside of his relationship w Ian, in general it would have been so fascinating to see how Mickey grapples with trying not to be like his dad while loving Yevgeny but also struggling with how he was conceived and how traumatizing it was for him.
I think maybe he’d overcompensate a bit - be soo hard on himself if Yev ever simply fell over and hurt himself a bit while Mickey was watching him. Or if Mickey was ever struggling not to lose it while Yev’s crying (because it would be so overstimulating for him). Even though it wouldn’t be his fault I think he’d still struggle and blame himself and fall back into the “oh god I can’t do this I’m just like my dad” sometimes.
And he’d then try so hard to be better and be there as much as he can almost to a fault. And you’re so right it would’ve been such an opportunity for him to heal and to break the cycle. I think it also would’ve put his own childhood into perspective - he wants to protect Yev from anyone that would hurt him, so it’s so jarring for him to realize how much he was hurt and allowed to be hurt when he was a kid.
I’m also in general not a huge fan of the throuple storyline. So I would’ve LOVED to have seen Mickey & Svet be a coparenting/accidental bestie duo throughout the season (it wouldn’t have been like that straight away but eventually) and all the hijinks they could get up to - scams, funny stuff with Yevgeny, maybe going out to find real jobs together, if Mandy called Mickey about the dead guy and he brought Svetlana along (I need post murder sibling bonding pls). Just in general being a little unconventional family, because we know family is super important to Svet.
Also at this point most of Mickey’s family is gone and Ian’s broken up with him. Svet & Yev would be all he has left. It makes sense that he’d end up relying on & cling to them. (This is another reason why I think Gallavich would be different when getting back together after being apart for the better part of a year, both of their priorities would have shifted a bit).
Sorry this got so long, this is just one of my favorite topics I could genuinely talk about it for hours😂 I can’t wait to read your season 6 au fic!! Already know it’ll be so good!

Endzeitfragmente Masterlist (Alpha Rick Grimes x Omega Reader)
Tumblr media
Regular Masterlist
Translation: ‘Endzeitfragmente’ literally translates to ‘End Time Fragments’ in German. Or, more poetically it can translate to ‘Fragments From the End of Time’.
Summary: This is my masterlist for my Rick/Reader a/b/o stories. They are all connected and inspired by the original series I wrote, titled ‘the Claim.’ I may write other stories in the trope that aren’t connected, but they will just be in my regular masterlist.
Note: This collection of stories involves breeding kink and a significant age gap - don’t like, don’t read. Rick is 13 years older than the reader, with him being 37 and her being 24 when they first meet.
I haven’t given many descriptions of the Reader, aside from that she is female, wears traditionally feminine clothing and has hair long enough to tuck behind her ear.
The Reader is Hershel's eldest daughter, but you can also read it as you being his daughter through adoption or having a different mother to both Maggie and Beth. Basically meaning that you can read this with any physical description in mind. But the Reader is considered as 100% his daughter and the sister of Maggie and Beth in all the ways that matter.
Requests: If you have a particular idea for this pairing, feel free to request it!

The Claim
Summary: Despite everything that’s going on, despite the world going to shit, despite wanting to stay on Hershel’s good side, despite his marriage falling apart, despite the way he knows he’s broken… despite it all, Rick can’t fight how badly he wants you.
Set during late s2.

Summary: After catching another alpha making unwanted advances on you, Rick makes the younger man watch as he claims you all over again, showing that you are indisputably his.
Set during the early Alexandria days (s5).
A light sequel to ‘the Claim’ that can be read independently of it.

Undone in Sorrow -  💔 + ❤️‍🩹
Summary: Finally coming face to face with Negan threatens the ties that bind your relationship with Rick together. After that first meeting, the two of you try to pick up the broken pieces of one another and become whole again.
Set from late s6 to between s8 and s9.
This series includes the Reader being pregnant, plus mentions of a past stillbirth. Please be aware of that before reading!
I have also decided to rewrite this story as I don’t like the way the pacing ended up going and I got new ideas as I was writing it. So feel free to skip this one and wait for the rewritten version 😅

Fighting For... Sanctum
Tumblr media
Summary: We survived the end of the world, again. What used to separate us, now unites us. What was just supposed to be ten years asleep, turned into a hundred twenty five. Now we’re somewhere new, a planet with unknown variables. We’ve been fighting for so long, maybe this time we can settle down. Maybe this time, we don’t have to fight.
Warnings: The 100 Themes so blood and gore I guess
Pairings: Bellamy Blake x Fem!Reader, Clarke Griffin x Twin!Fem!Reader

“Now we get our humanity back.” “Some of us never lost it.”
“We didn’t have a choice. You wouldn’t understand. You weren’t there.”
“You were supposed to protect her!” “What about me? What about me?! She was supposed to protect me and instead she gave me up to die!”
“I gave her that olive branch, and you know what she did with it? She burned it to the ground the moment she chose Octavia.”
“What was it Abby? What did you tell me when I came to you, carrying my daughter’s body? “It was your fault.”
“Because while I blamed myself for Raelyn, she repeated it every time she saw me that it was my fault she was dead and that I deserved it.”
“Hey. He loves you. “Not as much as he loves her.”
“Anyone could’ve gone to get Raven. But I chose to go. I left you, when you needed me most.”
“I should’ve stayed in the bunker, with you. Maybe- if I was there, the things that happened to you wouldn’t have happened.”
“We were all changed. I mean, just look at me and you sister.” “You haven’t changed, not like her.”
“You’re the girl who I love.” “Yo- you can’t say that.”
“You have a girlfriend. You know, Echo? Tall girl, super pretty?” “She’s not you.”
“Are you okay?” “What do you care, Clarke? You’ve made your feelings very clear.”
“What’s it matter to you Clarke?” “She’s my sister. My twin sister.”
“We’re not even awake for five minutes and you pick a fight with her.” “That- that’s not what happened.”
“Whatever happened with Abby, it wasn’t YN’s fault. You can’t blame her for it. They’ve never been close, which is on Abby. YN tried and she got burned for it. She’s suffered enough. She doesn’t need you throwing every transgression back in her face.”
Tumblr media
“Hey, did you see Raven or Shaw on your way back?”
Emori looked over at Clarke, huffing.
“You know, the people you handed over to our enemy to be tortured.”
Murphy grinned, looking over at Clarke.
“Now for Clarke, we call that a Tuesday.”
I grinned as I sat down at one of the tables, my eyes widening slightly when Echo looked over at Murphy and Emori, shaking her head.
“Easy. She did the right thing in the end.”
Clarke offered Echo a small smile as she shook her head, looking over at Emori.
“No. I haven’t seen them.”
I watched as she walked towards Abby, watching as Jordan walked towards them before Abby left, Raven and Shaw walking in, holding hands.
“What’d we miss?”
“Nothing.”
Bellamy stood up, walking towards the middle of the room.
“Okay everyone, listen up. Here’s what we know, Eligius lll was a colonizing mission. According to the file, the mothership went to five planets that met necessary conditions for life, dropping mission teams on each one. Monty picked planet Alpha for us because it’s the closest and probably the most like earth.”
Murphy made a face, tilting his head to the side.
“Was there a probably?”
“We have to assume they couldn’t know for sure until they got here. We can scan the atmosphere from the bridge.”
“Actually we can’t.”
Everyone turned towards Jordan, shaking his head.
“None of the equipment we used to monitor earth is working. I’m guessing it’s interference from the ionosphere.”
Bellamy shook his head, looking at all of us.
“Bottom line is, we won’t know if it’s survivable until we get down there.”
I huffed, leaning back in my seat.
“Sounds familiar.”
“What about radio signals? Anything from the ground that says the mission team survived?”
“No radio signals.”
“Likely also the ionosphere. There is an ultra high frequency ping on radar, faint but-”
“A rescue beacon. We used them on Eligius lV to-”
“Great. If there’s a beacon, that means someone’s down there, right?”
Shaw shook his head, looking over at Emori.
“Not necessarily. They’re solar, so-”
“They can last forever. How long ago did Eligius lll get here?”
Jordan shrugged, tilting his head to the side.
“Hard to tell since they never radioed back, but best estimate- two hundred years, give or take.”
“That’s a long time to wait for a rescue.”
I shook my head, looking up.
“I trust Monty.”
Bellamy looked over at me, nodding.
“Great, then it’s settled. We land at a distance, give us time to acclimate. We’ll wait for them to come to us.”
“Let’s talk about guns. If we have them, we’ll use them.”
I scoffed, shaking my head.
“Sure, that’ll go over well. Didn’t you learn anything from last time?”
She shot me a look as Bellamy shook his head, stepping forward.
“We’re taking guns. But we’re also taking non-lethals. Now, Eligius lV had gas grenades and shock batons to control the criminals.”
Bellamy turned towards me, nodding slightly.
“We won’t shoot first this time.”
“In that case, Clarke should stay here.”
Clarke’s face fell as Bellamy turned towards Raven, shaking his head.
“Raven, you’re the one that’s staying here.”
“What? Like hell I am.”
“We can’t take both our pilots, and since we’ll be flying blind until we’re below the ionosphere, it has to be Shaw.”
Raven nodded slightly as Bellamy turned towards Jordan, sighing softly.
“That’s not all. Jordan, you’re staying too.”
“Me? Why?”
I shook my head, looking over at Jordan.
“I know it’s hard, but your parents asked us to keep you safe. We have no idea what’s waiting for us down there.”
“Which is why we should take our best fighters.”
I scoffed, turning towards Echo, shaking my head.
“No way. After everything she’s done, she doesn’t need to come with.”
Bellamy nodded, looking over at Echo.
“YN is right. My sister is the last person I trust not to shoot first, so she stays on ice with everyone else until we know what we’re dealing with.”
“And if it’s too late by then?”
Bellamy clenched his jaw, glancing at me.
“Fine. I’ll wake up Miller.”
Echo nodded as Bellamy looked around at the others, nodding when no one said anything.
“Good. Say your goodbyes, head to the transport ship.”
Everyone stood, walking out of the room. Bellamy lingered behind, turning towards me when I stood up, sighing.
“YN?”
I took a deep breath, turning towards him.
“What?”
“Can we talk?”
“I need to go and get my things. Plus I need to talk to Jackson.”
He nodded slightly, making a face.
“Why do you need to talk to Jackson?”
“I need him to look at my injuries. I’m not going to Abby for help so that just leaves Jackson.”
“And Clarke.”
I shook my head, walking past him.
“I’m not going to Clarke either.”
He reached out, grabbing my arm.
“YN-”
I shook my head, pulling my arm back, looking up at him.
“You should go and get your things. We’re on a time frame, so.”
He nodded, taking a step back.
“Yeah, right, of course.”
I nodded, turning and walking out of the room.
Tumblr media
“Any pain?”
I shook my head as Jackson stood back up, looking over at me.
“Not really.”
He shot me a look, tilting his head to the side.
“YN.”
I sighed, looking over at Jackson.
“Only when I move too fast.”
Jackson nodded, turning.
“Okay then.”
He turned back towards me, handing me a small bottle of pills.
“Pain meds. It might just be when you move too fast now, but considering the extent of your injuries, that pain could worsen.”
I nodded, taking the bottle from him.
“Anything else?”
He shook his head, looking over at me.
“No, that’s it.”
I nodded, jumping off the table.
“Thanks.”
He nodded as I walked out of the room, walking to the room where the cryo pods were, walking towards mine and opening the drawer, pulling my bag out. I placed the pain meds in the bag, checking that everything was still in it before I grabbed the holsters for my weapons, pulling them on, sliding my weapons into them.
“Hey.”
I looked up, seeing Bellamy.
“Ready to go?”
I nodded, grabbing my bag.
“Yup.”
He nodded, stepping to the side as I walked past him. I looked up as we turned down the hall to the transport ship, seeing Jackson and Abby hugging.
“Hey.”
I turned, watching Miller walk towards us, Bellamy nodding slightly.
“Hey.”
“Thanks for uh- taking me. That must’ve been hard for you.”
Bellamy shook his head looking over at Miller.
“Not really. We go back, Miller. I trust you.”
Miller huffed slightly, tilting his head to the side.
“Even after I threw you into the pit?”
“My sister did that, not you.”
“I hurt your girl, Bellamy.”
I snorted as Bellamy clenched his jaw, shaking his head as I walked forward.
“We’re good, okay?”
“YN, wait.”
I took a deep breath, turning towards Miller.
“I’m sorry. For everything that’s happened, and everything I had a part in, I’m sorry. For whatever it’s worth, I’m sorry.”
I nodded, offering him a small smile, glancing at Bellamy, seeing the face he was making before he shook his head, taking a step forward.
“Alright, let’s load up.”
Everyone started to make their way into the transport ship, Bellamy walking behind me when Abby called my name. I took a deep breath, turning towards her.
“I-”
She shook her head, sighing.
“There’s so much I want to say but I- I know that they’ll just be words.”
She closed the distance between us, hesitating slightly before she wrapped her arms around me.
“Last time I watched as they wheeled you onto the dropship. You were unconscious, and they had just placed you on the gurney.”
She leaned back, looking at me.
“I was too much of a coward to say it then, so I’m saying it now. I love you. I’m sorry I wasn’t a better mother.”
I shook my head, stepping back, her hands dropping to her sides.
“If something happens to Clarke and me, you’ll be all Madi has. Love her. Don’t- just don’t hurt her. Love her, and make sure she knows that you love her.”
I turned, walking past Bellamy and into the transport ship, sitting down in one of the empty seats, Bellamy following not soon after, sitting down in the seat beside me.
Tumblr media
Once Shaw had found a place to land, we were all quick to unbuckle our seatbelts, rushing to the door as we waited for the ramp to open.
“Please be breathable. Please be breathable.”
The ramp slammed against the ground as we all took a few breaths, Jackson grinning.
“Breathable air, check.”
“Radiation levels are good, too. Eligius lll didn’t need to send nightbloods after all.”
“How about that beacon, Shaw?”
“Eight clicks due east, I think it’s on high ground. There’s a water source about halfway.”
Clarke turned towards Bellamy, looking up at him.
“You should go first this time.”
Bellamy shook his head, glancing at her.
“No. We go together, all of us.”
We all walked down the ramp, Miller speaking up when we were at the bottom.
“Anyone got anything better than we’re back bitches?”
I laughed, shaking my head as the others laughed, Murphy looking around.
“Monty would know what to say, he should be here.”
“He is.”
“Watch your backs. Locking it up.”
The ramp closed as I shook my head, looking over at Murphy.
“He already said it, “do better there”, so let’s do better.”
Shaw scoffed, shaking his head as he glanced at me.
“That’s easy to say, but talk is cheap.”
I opened my mouth to say something when he turned, looking down at the device he held, walking off.
“He’ll come around, they all will.”
I shook my head, turning and looking up at Bellamy as the others followed after Shaw.
“What’d I do to him?”
Bellamy shook his head, glancing at Clarke.
“It’s not you. Come on, we don’t want to fall behind.”
Tumblr media
Biting back a wince, I tried to hide my limp from the others as we walked through the woods.
“Are you okay?”
I looked over, seeing Echo falling into step beside me, a worried look on her face.
“Peachy.”
She huffed a slight laugh, shaking her head.
“You’ve said that before, and you passed out in my lap.”
I laughed, nodding.
“Fair. But I promise, I’m fine.”
Echo sighed, shaking her head.
“You don’t have to put on this front that you're invincible, YN. You’re human, just like the rest of us. It’s okay to be hurt and in pain.”
I nodded, offering her a slight smile.
“I’m fine Echo, really.”
Echo nodded as we emerged from the woods, my eyes widening as I looked around.
“Looks like we found the water source. We camp here.”
Echo shot me a small smile before she walked forward, Clarke taking her place beside me as I set my things down on the ground.
“It looks like the suns are eclipsing.”
Murphy ran past us towards the water, stripping his clothes as he went.
“Murphy, Murphy wait! We haven’t tested it.”
“Your wounds haven’t healed yet.”
Murphy ran into the water, waving his arm back at us.
“Yeah, yeah, yeah.”
Murphy jumped into the water, all of us waiting for him to emerge.
“John?”
“Something’s wrong.”
Bellamy stepped forward, pulling his jacket off when Murphy popped up, laughing.
“Come on in, the water’s fine!”
Emori laughed, shaking her head.
“Who knew cockroaches could swim?”
“What, you want me to teach you?”
Murphy walked out of the water, walking towards Emori who backed away, shaking her head.
“No John, no.”
Murphy picked her up, tossing her over his shoulder and running back towards the water, dunking them both under. They emerged laughing, Emori splashing water at Murphy.
Tumblr media
Bellamy leaned back into Echo, his arm draped over her leg as she played with his hair.
“Miller helped keep Octavia alive, someday you’ll thank him for that.”
Bellamy sighed, looking up at Echo.
“Will I?”
“There’s no starting over without forgiveness, Bellamy. Who knows that better than us? That means your sister too.”
Bellamy shook his head, leaning back into her embrace.
“I can’t.”
Echo sighed, glanced over at where YN was sitting, watching as she dug her knife into the ground, spinning it in the sand.
“You forgave YN, why can’t you forgive your sister?”
Bellamy took a deep breath, looking over at YN.
“It’s different.”
“How? Octavia is your sister. I don’t-”
Echo sighed, slightly shaking her head.
“You still love her.”
Bellamy shook his head as he sat up, turning towards Echo.
“I love you.”
“But you’re in love with her.”
Bellamy shook his head, placing his hands on her cheeks, leaning towards her and kissing her softly.
“I love you.”
Tumblr media
“One more time, Eligius lV, this is expedition one. Raven, do you read?”
Clarke looked over at Shaw, offering him a small smile.
“Raven’ll get the radio fixed.”
Shaw clenched his jaw, turning towards Clarke, glaring at him.
“I’m sorry I turned you in, Shaw.”
“You really want to do this now?”
Murphy huffed, shaking his head.
“Maybe you two should speak in private.”
Clarke shook her head, looking over at everyone.
“No, I want you all to hear this.”
Murphy huffed, leaning back.
“Great.”
“If I could, I’d go back and do things differently, but I can’t. None of us can. For some reason, Monty thought we deserved a second chance.”
“Not for nothing, but this is like, your fifth chance.”
Clarke turned towards Murphy, scoffing.
“Yours too, Murphy.”
Murphy huffed a laugh, glancing at YN.
“The commander twins have what, eleven chances between them both?”
YN scoffed, shaking her head as she stood up.
“Leave me out of it Murphy. I’ve got watch.”
YN turned, walking off, Bellamy turning towards Murphy, shooting him a look.
“Good job.”
Murphy shrugged, leaning into Emori’s side.
“You’re right. Your friend gave you a second chance, but now what? Salvation comes from faith and good works, what you do, not what you say. You haven’t done anything yet.”
Clarke sighed, saying nothing when Bellamy made a face.
“Hey, listen. You hear that?”
“What happened to all the bugs?”
“You guys gotta see this!”
They all jumped up, running towards Jackson, meeting him halfway as he lifted a jar with a bug in it.
“Five minutes ago, this thing ate a lead out of my hand. Now, it want’s to eat me. Not only that, it’s entire physiology has changed from-”
Murphy reached up, hitting the bug on his neck, the bug in the jar growing more wild.
“Oh, look at that. Your pet’s pissed that I killed it’s brother.”
“What the hell is that?”
They turned to where Emori was looking, Clarke’s eyes widening slightly.
“Swarm.”
“It’s coming from the direction of the ship, we’ll never make it back.”
“Everyone cover up, we’re heading to the beacon now.”
They all ran back towards their things, grabbing their jackets and scarves when YN came running from the treeline, yelling.
“Move, move now!”
They watched as a swarm followed behind her, Bellamy grabbing her bag, handing her her jacket as she passed him, pulling it on as they all ran behind Shaw.
Tumblr media
“They hate the fire! The flares, light them all!”
I reached into my bag, pulling at the flare and lighting it.
“Stay together, flares at three corners!”
I stayed near Emori as Jackson and Murphy pulled her up, Bellamy catching my arm and turning me towards him.
“Are you okay?”
I nodded, clenching my jaw.
“Peachy. We need to go.”
Bellamy nodded as we caught up to the others, Shaw yelling.
“Here, it’s here!”
Shaw ran out of the treeline, screaming. My eyes widened when I saw Shaw fall to the ground, yelling.
“Shaw, get out of there!”
“It’s killing him! Get him out!”
I looked around, seeing the row of towers. There was a sign on the towers, causing my eyes to widen as I ran forward. Bellamy’s eyes widened as he stepped forward, shaking his head as he yelled.
“YN? No, YN stop!”
I ran through the barrier, dropping next to Shaw, grabbing him as I pulled him back through the barrier.
“Hang on Shaw.”
He stopped screaming as I dragged him into the field, looking him over, my eyes widening. I looked up, looking over at Clarke.
“I need some help!”
Clarke nodded, running through the barrier, dropping to her knees beside Shaw.
“We’re running out of time here!”
Shaw looked over at me, grabbing my hand.
“The tower.”
I nodded, looking over at the tower.
“I see it.”
“Eligius tech, the failsafe code. 47815.”
I nodded, jumping up and running towards the tower, yanking the cover off, keying in the code.
“YN, hurry!”
I watched as the keypad blinked green, turning back towards the others.
“It’s down! Run now!”
The others ran forward, passing through the barrier. I keyed the code back in, the barrier flickering back to life, killing the bugs as they hit the shield. I ran back towards Shaw and Clarke, digging into my bag for the morphine I had, placing the needle at his arm when he grabbed my hand, shaking his head.
“No, don’t waste it.”
He turned towards Clarke, looking up at her.
“Earn this.”
Clarke nodded as Shaw turned towards me, his breathing laboured.
“Tell Raven she deserves happiness. She doesn’t think she does, but she does.”
I nodded, gently squeezing his hand.
“I will, I promise.”
Tumblr media
“What kind of people have a radiation fence?”
“The kind of people that want to keep something out.”
“Beacon should be right up ahead.”
“What are we gonna tell Raven?”
“That he died a hero.”
“Look, I do hate to make this about us but-”
I shook my head, looking over at Murphy.
“Then don’t. Shaw just saved your life.”
“I’m aware. I’m also aware that we just lost our pilot.”
Murphy looked over at Clarke, nodding.
“Madi’s still up there. You’re not worried you’re never gonna see her again?”
Clarke turned towards Murphy, shoving him as I reached out, grabbing Clarke, Miller stepping between her and Murphy as I shook my head.
“Ignore him.”
“Yeah, your Red Queen is still up there too, Miller. Who you gonna follow now?”
Murphy nodded, looking over at me, grinning.
“Oh I know, you’re gonna follow Nyxlana.”
I turned my back to Murphy, looking over at Clarke when he grabbed me, turning me towards him, tilting his head to the side.
“Tell me something, why didn’t you kill the Red Queen? She killed your daughter and you let her live.”
He turned back towards Miller, grinning.
“So why aren’t you already following her? The Red Queen’s a child killer and you chose her?”
Miller glanced at me before he turned, grabbing Murphy by his jacket, lifting his fist when Bellamy shoved them both back.
“Hey! Miller! As therapeutic as it is to beat up on Murphy, Emori can fly.”
Emori scoffed, nodding.
“Sure yeah. I’ve had one successful landing in a ship I trained in for six years. No problem.”
“Guys, stairs.”
We all turned to where Echo was pointing, sharing a look before we walked towards them.
“Easy. We approach slow, no hostile movements.”
They all tightened their grips on their guns as I placed my hand on the hilt of my sword, walking up the steps, Murphy gasping.
“They have a castle.”
We walked further into the village, looking around. A pond sat in the middle, houses circling it with the castle resting behind it. We separated, searching the houses for any sign of anyone when Emori called out, causing us to join her, looking up at the flag she pointed to.
“Allie?”
Two suns were at the bottom of the flag, the infinity sign resting in the bottom sun.
“Becca did the tech for Eligius.”
“Right. Destroy the world and two hundred years later they put you on a flag.”
I huffed a laugh, glancing at Bellamy.
“See? Hope for us yet.”
I turned when I heard someone pounding on a door.
“Hello? Invaders from earth. Can we come in?”
I watched as Bellamy walked over to Murphy, Emori shaking her head.
“John, keep it down.”
“I don’t know why we’re knocking. Gone door to door and no one’s here.”
“We don’t know that yet.”
Bellamy glared at Murphy as he walked to another house, trying the door.
“These are people's homes. We’re not breaking in like thieves.”
“Bellamy’s right. If we want to do better here, we can’t be just-”
Murphy cut me off by kicking the door in, Murphy smirking at us.
“Well, look at that. This one’s unlocked.”
He walked into the house, Bellamy turning towards me. I shrugged, walking past him and into the house. I looked around, walking to a small altar, looking it over. The flag with the infinity symbol hung above it, a picture of a family hanging below it. There were different things on the altar, bowls filled with various objects.
“It’s some kind of shrine.”
I looked over at Bellamy, watching as he knelt down, lifting one of the bowls, turning it towards me.
“Blood.”
He stood back up, looking down at the picture of the family.
“Eligius lll, all named Lightbourne.”
“They sent families.”
“Nice to be remembered.”
“Or worshipped.”
“Hey, you want a music player?”
We both turned towards Murphy, Bellamy shooting him a look.
“Behave, Murphy.”
He grinned, shrugging as we walked out of the house.
“Alright.”
Tumblr media
I walked over to the building Clarke had entered, sighing softly as I stopped beside her.
“Hey.”
She jumped slightly, looking over at me, smiling softly.
“Hey.”
She turned back around, giving me the opportunity to look around. There were toys and books everywhere, some left out like they had been abandoned while playing.
“I wish Madi could have gone to school.”
I shrugged slightly as she closed the book she was holding, looking over at her.
“I didn’t go to school and I turned out okay.”
She smiled at me, nodding.
“True. Still no luck on the radio?”
I made a face, turning when she nodded behind me. Bellamy shook his head, walking towards us.
“No.”
“Trust me, I know the feeling.”
I made a face, looking over at Clarke.
“I’m sorry I couldn’t respond all those years.”
Her eyes widened, Bellamy grinning slightly.
“Madi told me.”
“Of course she did. I know it sounds crazy- Madi certainly thought it was, but talking to you everyday, even though you didn’t answer, it kept me sane.”
“It’s not crazy.”
I huffed slightly, shaking my head as I grinned.
“Little pathetic maybe, but it’s not crazy.”
Clarke looked over at me, shaking her head.
“I talked to you too. I thought that there might’ve been a chance that I could talk to you, even though the radios went out before Praimfaya. I tried every frequency but they were all static.”
“Yeah well, I hallucinated Bellamy for like two years so if anyone’s crazy, I think it’d be me.”
“Clarke, did you read this?”
We both turned, looking over at Bellamy, looking at the book he held, Clarke shaking her head.
“No.”
Bellamy flipped the book open, reading it.
“Trees and plants give us shade. We eat them every day. When the stars align and the forest wakes, it’s time to run away.”
I made a face as I looked down at the book, taking it from Bellamy and flipping through the remaining pages, skimming over the words, looking at the picture of the eclipsing suns, glancing at the suns in the sky.
“It’s not a nursery rhyme, it’s a warning.”
I showed them the picture of the suns, nodding towards the sky when Murphy stopped singing, yelling.
“No! No!”
We ran out of the building and towards the palace, stopping when we looked over at where Murphy was looking.
“They’re stealing- they’re stealing our ship!”
The transport ship we came down in took off, leaving us behind. I turned when there was a cry, watching as Emori jumped at Murphy, a knife in her hands. She stabbed him in the shoulder, Murphy falling to the ground. We all took off, running towards them as Emori started to hit Murphy.
“Emori! What are you doing? Emori stop.”
“Miller, stop her!”
Miller jumped up from the stairs him and Echo were sitting on, both of them reaching Emori and Murphy before us.
“Emori, you’re gonna kill him.”
They managed to pull Emori off of Murphy as we reached them, Jackson dropping to his knees next to Murphy as Emori fought against Miller and Echo.
“Let me go!”
“Calm down.”
“He’ll do it to you too! He’ll do it to you too!”
“Let me go!”
I looked back down at the book I was still holding, flipping it open and rereading it. I shook my head as I looked up at the suns, turning and looking over at Bellamy and Clarke. Bellamy stood up and walked towards me, slightly making a face.
“YN?
“It’s in the air.”

The Riverdale 102(?)-Day Sprint, Day 5: “Chapter Sixty-Six: Tangerine”
The Shankshaw Re-dumb-tion
And here we are again. Weird that of the five episodes I’ve seen so far like 2 or 3 have been from S4, not that it really matters too much. But merely from the fact this is S4 I can immediately deduce: 1) there will be some useless gang war stuff surrounding Archie’s community center, 2) there will be something about the tapes, and 3) there will be more of that tedious flip-flopping with Betty and Archie. I can’t wait for that redheaded block-jawed freak to get ritually sacrificed or killed in WW1 or whatever the hell actually ends up happening in S6. Well, I suppose I’ve put this off long enough. Here goes:
                       *          *          *
This show is doing something to me. I can feel it changing my brain in the same way being kicked repeatedly in the head does. I think I’ve predicted several major plot developments, but it doesn’t matter nothing matters why why why. I am 99% sure the Black Hood was Betty’s dad, although they haven’t outright said as much: interesting that he knew about Betty’s Dark Passenger. Is there some kind of like... inherited condition that gives you one? I should just make a list of every show this one rips off, because Dexter seems like a main inspiration here. Let’s assess the damage of the various subplots:
Archie is continuing to be a vigilante but maaaaybe he’s done for realsies this time? He seemed genuinely sad (or as genuinely sad as that oaf can in this show) when he was tearing up with his mom about it near the end, and he did almost actually kill Dodger... wait shit I just realized that and Fagin are an Oliver Twist reference I am genuinely livid. This show is the equivalent of hitting yourself in the head with a dictionary several dozen times in a row.
Jughead’s subplot is probably the least consequential here, even if it does eventually lead to his 100% fake death. His grandpa was apparently a bastard, but he’s probably dead or something so it doesn’t even matter. Jughead joins a frat in the last few minutes.
Betty has a Dark Passenger! This Dexter subplot is obscenely infuriating, because of Shankshaw Prison (get it? do you get it? do you get how clever the showrunners are?) and also the whole plot being really really dumb. Cult lady says “tangerine” three times and then I guess it makes people believe they’re Betty? Then they try to kill Betty because she’s “dark Betty” in their minds. That’s not how hypnosis works that’s not how any of that works. Whatever. Charles seems a bit detached here, as usual, and the parallels to my beloved Agent Cooper are numerous. He is definitely a serial killer tho.
Veronica Lodge’s subplot is the worst of any of them. She’s up against evil moonshiners run by her dad again, and Hiram is using copyright laws to try to quash her business. Also she has a nightclub or something. She’s supposed to be like 17 or 18. Sure, whatever fine. I was going to issue some unconditional praise because the rivalry between Veronica and Hiram is what Audrey and Ben Horne should have been doing in Twin Peaks S2, but then I realized I was unironically comparing Riverdale to Twin Peaks and I slapped myself in the face in real life.
And last and certainly not least we have Cheryl Blossom. Her actor is just owning how ridiculous this subplot is and it’s honestly a treat to watch. Apparently Mrs. Blossom is like a serial killer? So Cheryl imprisons her in a bunker or something after faking a suicide attempt, and it turns out Mrs. Blossom is jealous of Cheryl spending so much time with her twin brother’s exhumed corpse. The way this was shot and acted screams camp and I love it unironically.
Well, that’s this episode. I hate every character in this show with a burning passion, and I want to do to Archie what most people say they want to do ironically. I want to kick that character down the stairs not out of some kind of love but a hatred that is festering and growing more every day. He’s such a bland protagonist who is moody and brooding and conflicted despite the fact he has literally everything he wants. It’s quite obvious this uncle of his will be evil or something and fine whatever he’ll die pretty soon too probably, since there’s no mention of him in the S5 episode I saw a few days back. I am frothing at the mouth I should probably stop writing. Tomorrow, hopefully I get a more straightforward episode, preferably from the first season...
Tomorrow: “Chapter Ninety-Two: Band of Brothers”...damn.
quick notes
- just by the recap I was immediately right; more gang bs inbound. lovely
- apparently Betty killed her childhood dog? or her dad did and brainwashed her into thinking she did?
- wait actually that’s pointing pretty strongly to him being the man behind the slaughter Black Hood, isn’t it?
- and Jughead’s dad is actually the Hardy Boys author is something
- OH RIGHT Archie’s a vigilante! I hope he gets shot
- and Jughead’s the new ghostwriter! wow! I can’t wait for this subplot to go absolutely nowhere
- VERONICA RUM SUBPLOT how could I forget!
- love how Archie just tells Jughead’s dad/the sheriff (wait wasn’t he supposed to be dead and a gang leader?) he’s the vigilante. Sheriff Jones holds up a picture of the vigilante and says “Is this you” and Archie’s just like “yea lmao”
- right yeah Archie’s mom’s alive. what’s the deal with that? was she dead or was she just divorced in S1?
- hm. fuck. I have some unqualified praise for this show. let me think about it while I finish the episode and maybe I’ll lay it out in the actual write-up
- so Polly Cooper is Jeff the Killer or something? great cool whatever I thought she was just like... really loyal to that cult (which cult? there are so many cults in this one shitty town)
- alright I’m lost here what’s her deal? is she faking this amnesia? I don’t know the context to her character
- also. that is some. ah. quality acting
- HA Hiram’s mom is going to turn him into fertilizer
- OH MY GOD MANCHURIAN CANDIDATE HYPNOSIS with an activation phone call and everything!
- and a finger snap brings you back! just like Captain Underpants! (well technically like negative universe Captain Underpants bc regular Mr. Krupp is turned into CU with a snap. don’t ask why I remember all of this stuff from elementary school books it’s not important)
- wait so is it a magic word that can affect anyone? or is it just certain people with implanted triggers?
- I have a big-brain prediction: it’s just people related to the Cooper family, Betty specifically. We’ve only seen her sister and mom be affected, right? AND Polly attacked the nurse named Betty! the order must be to kill Betty specifically! I am only 8 minutes in and I’ve already figured this out what is wrong with me
- called Hiram’s mom kicking his ass
- “What are you doing picking fights with your daughter? Your father is turning over in his grave.” I know Hiram’s mom is the stereotypical angry Hispanic lady but I like her anyway, simply because Hiram needs to get his ass kicked more
- I swear every 5 minutes one of the 3 leads gets a phone call with dramatic news. it happens literally a dozen times an episode
- SHANKSHAW PRISON ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME I WANT TO MAIM
- The Farm is the name of the cult Polly was in? noted. and apparently it was run by a supervillain who had like... mind-control audio? that’s convenient
- Edgar... I’ve heard that name before. so the Farm’s cult leader guy is dead, and it’s his girlfriend. great. glad there was zero mystery there
- also why does Charles even need Betty’s help? he seems like the most competent member of the cast. he could end Riverdale’s problems in 2 seconds if he cared. what’s his deal? he seems off somehow, not dissimilar to a certain FBI agent I know...
- Forsythe just takes Jughead at his word about them being related? isn’t the whole reason he’s living out in the woods that people are obsessed with him or something? why would he believe some dweeb with a jug for a head?
- OH HA that Julian subplot with Cheryl Blossom is still going on! and Jason is still decaying in the living room! I fucking hate this show
- OH SUICIDE ATTEMPT PLAYED FOR LAUGHS LOVELY
- WHY THE GAS MASK??? WHAT IS GOING OOOOOOON
- ohhh ok no I was sort of wrong Forsyth(e) did write the books but some classmate stole them. sure whatever who cares
- AND MR JONES JUST LETS ARCHIE BE THE VIGILANTE JDBSBHDSBABSB
- and not only does he agree he joins in on the vigilantism! this show sure treats cops like superheroes!
- oh wow no mask or anything? isn’t a mask an integral part of vigilantism?
- Cheryl’s subplot sure does exist! I have no clue what’s going on anymore. was that story about her absorbing her 3rd twin sibling bs?
- gaslight gatekeep girlblossom. that should be the name of this subplot
- and of course Mr. Jones is like “yeah kicking the shit out of people sure is cool isn’t it” and Archie’s just like “yea lmao”. stupid bootlicking show
- huh so it turns out Forsyth(e?) is just a mediocre white guy after all and DuPont is just weird but not a serial killer. ha!
- love how the cult lady just freely tells Betty how the activation phrase works, even if it is a ridiculously stupid explanation
- oh so the name of the episode is the trigger phrase. funny. and nice Candyman reference ya pack of nerds
- wait so is Mr. Jones just dead? that won’t be good for Archie and Jug’s already rocky relationship. also lol what did they expect from that vigilante-ing?
- AHSJSBDBSSDBH Charles is just like “hey Betty what if we did a funny bit where you tried the trigger phrase on yourself? what’d happen then? let’s find out!”
- so... Cheryl’s mom is jealous of Cheryl bc she’s spending quality time with Jason... who is still a rotting corpse. huh
- this is the worst rendition of “Saturday Night’s Alright for Fighting” that I’ve ever heard. how fitting for such a lousy fight scene
- so does Betty have some kind of “dark passenger”? Is she secretly a serial killer or somethimg? will she become Dexter? Is Charles Dexter?
- BETTY HAS A MIND PALACE ANJABAHBAAHBA
- listen I don’t like making fun of kid actors – it’s not their fault. if they’re directed badly they just sink. but Dark Betty’s actor is really really not goof here
- also love how this epic confrontation between Betty and her Dark Passenger is just her saying “killing is bad actually” and her shadow self is like “yea I guess you’re right goodbye forever”
- whenever the camera pans over to Jason and his dumb dead face I always laugh. It has to be intentional right?
- “Archie... honey... why are you sitting in the dark?” except it’s TV show dark, so everyone is perfectly evenly lit
- and only now does Archie feel slightly bad about vigilante-ing. I hate him so much
- and Jason gets a Viking-esque 2nd funeral. how charming
- HA AHAHAHA AND ARCHIE’S DAD’S BROTHER SHOWS UP AS A LAST-SECOND TEASE I hate this show... so much...
- and yet another flash forward to dead Jughead! by Betty’s hand no less!

more hbo spn rambles, thoughts, drabbles etc. long long post.
part 1 here
there’s some things i’ve omitted here bc others have already posted about those things, certain headcanons and characterizations and stuff. those posts are in my likes somewhere (and i’ll reblog them someday), and there’s some posts i’ve read but not liked, which i now can only vaguely remember, which is why some ideas/thoughts are similar
ALSO most of these follow the model i talked about in part one: how s1-5 will stay more or less how they are but s6-10 is changed (some things are cut out entirely, some things are tweaked and some characters + arcs are more fleshed out. more focus on sam’s trauma and post-cage adaptation to the real world as well as dean letting his rage and control issues consume him and how he’d recover and redeem himself)
as i typed these paragraphs, i realized i really have 10 seasons mapped out and ready to go. hbo hire me!!
alright go:
sam and dean get wearier as the show progresses (second half), and eventually they stop putting so much care and thought in the people they save. like...hm how do i say this, like as long as a victim/victims are saved, they don’t care about how that happens or how those people suffer potential consequences, like if the victims lose a limb or have their homes burned down because of the monster, then sam and dean don’t really care. they saved your life, now they’ll leave you with your life in potential shambles and not care because all that matters is that they saved your life, not how it is afterwards. they still care about saving that one person, but eventually it pales a little in comparison to a war between heaven and hell, being the vessels etc. ---> saving people becomes less about making sure they’re actually alright and healing from horrific events and more about just making sure they have a pulse before they move on
when angels lose their wings they are either burned off in the actual fall or ripped off of them in their vessels, which leaves pretty nasty scars on the vessel
ed and harry are so young and bright eyed about the whole hunting thing; sam and dean as kids, idolizing it, finding it exciting and intriguing when they shouldn’t. sam and dean try to get them out of the business before they too are too traumatized and desensitized to do anything but hunt. neither sam or dean will say it but they are jealous of ed and harry and their freedom to leave, and hate them for choosing this voluntarily instead of being dragged into it by tragedy
hbo spn is a slow burn. there’s a lot more shots of sam and dean in silence just sitting together after a hunt, exhausted and too tired to move yet. they’re covered in blood and guts on the side of the road after killing or covered with dirt in a graveyard after burning bones, sitting next to the fire, just watching it. the times they park the car and watch the stars? we get to see it.
dean wears rings and the amulet all the time in the beginning, for the first five seasons. the rings vary; first they’re some of john’s old ones and stuff he finds in thrift stores. then later on he begins wearing rings from people they’ve saved/haven’t saved as a keepsakes etc. when he begins his descent to the holy murderer in s6-10 he wears less and less rings. they don’t matter anymore -> symbolically shedding who he was and what mattered to him
the only accessories sam has is a rosary/cross around his neck. he has jess’ engagement ring in his pocket/wallet. after the cage he vaguely remembers why the ring was there and who jessica was (more on this further down)
the four horsemen are manifestations of different aspects of human nature at its most grotesque and strongest, can’t be killed as long as humans live. war is conflict, famine is desire, pestilence is physical and mental illnesses.
(the seven sins are like the horsemen, tulpas of human nature instead of demons)
death isn’t a concentration of an existing aspect of humans as much as it is the end of life, the antithesis of life. death the oldest of the horsemen and has existed since the beginning of any life, organism, cell and atom. the opposite of life and light, the other half of god (as i’m typing this i’m confused as to why  amara was the opposite of god instead of death). death isn’t evil or good, remains 100% objective. doesn’t care for sam or dean at all, but has a begrudging respect for their stubbornness and entertainment they provide due to their flat out refusal to do as they’re told by celestial bodies when anyone else would crumble
by including death i feel like it very naturally begs questions of who decides when someone dies, when someone lives, why would death follow these guides instead of reaping whomever whenever, what happens if a life isn’t reaped at the right time etc. the reader in me adore the idea of death having a library with books and records of everyone who has ever lived and died and how they died - but then, who writes these books and why? do they decide, and if in that case, how? these questions are above my paygrade but you know what i mean? like there has to be some sort of system right, god created everything, death executes to maintain order, some third party deity writes the laws and the books. the three branches of government. ok but it’s hbo so again, i think we shouldn’t dive this deep into things, like as much as these topics intrigue me i don’t want to stray too much from the dirt road trip aesthetic
shapeshifters are extremely rare because they don’t require any kind of human blood or organs/sacrifice to live
i want more exploration of how magic is like science, like it just needs the right ingredients and right conditions. sam thinks of magic as an obscure branch of science; it just requires research and knowledge and clear intentions because science can be controlled and do a lot of good when used responsibly. dean doesn’t like it. he doesn’t trust the unpredictable elements and he’s seen enough to know it never goes well. magic is a force that can’t be controlled by anyone.
sam and dean have full on fist fights regularly. to practice and keeping each other sharp, but also because they’re siblings. they’re feral, insane and unhinged with each other and they get on each other’s nerves A LOT. it’s petty and childish and sometimes it can get a lil ugly but it becomes their way of family therapy. after a fight the next scene cuts to sam and dean with ruffled clothes, nosebleeds and swollen lips at a diner eating silently after beating each other up. either they sit in silence because they’re tired or both are harping on the other’s openings and weaknesses
sometimes they’ll fight a little dirty but they do so in different ways; dean will pull the old ‘look!’ and point to something and then tackle sam when he turns to look while sam will just cry out in fake pain which makes dean stop dead in his tracks before sam headbutts him or kicks him in the groin
we, the audience get used to these fights, they’re sometimes funny and for comic relief, sometimes for narrative purposes (like tricking a monster they’re fighting each other when they’re really not) BUT. then comes the times when sam and dean are actually fighting without holding back and we see how much they are capable of hurting each other or how heartbreaking and difficult it can be to watch when of them are incapable of fighting back/doesn’t defend himself -> swan song when dean doesn’t fight back against possessed sam, or when dean beats soulless sam unconscious
sam and dean also just verbally bully each other constantly but they do have their odd ways of expressing affection and care. they get the other person their fave snack whenever they go grocery shopping without being asked to and are the only other one they truly trust to have their back in hunts. have a cup of coffee ready before the other asks for one. brothers and each other’s best friend. nightmare duo but in a sweet way. the cooperation of ‘the usual suspects’ when they’re in different interrogation rooms but still has the cover story down to a t. code words and code names and cover stories, they know it all
when sam and dean fight together against a common enemy they’re a damn nightmare - because they know each others weaknesses and habits, they cover each other perfectly and in complete silence. they’ve been at it together since they were kids and read each other’s nonverbal cues like a picture book
to build off of what i said in part 1; the winchesters are pretty hated in the hunter’s community. even the people sam and dean frequently work with (bobby, ellen, jo, ash, rufus, bela, kevin, charlie, castiel etc) roasts them all the time and don’t hesitate with calling them out on their self-pitying crap when it get’s too much (spn was just objectively better when characters weren’t afraid of dragging sam and dean through the mud for being selfish and stupid) and this WILL persist in hbo spn. the only reason people continue working with sam and dean is because they know deep down a lot of the things that happens aren’t sam and dean’s fault - but they still blame them for it. doesn’t make it easier how sam or dean sometimes start crap on purpose to save the other
the winchesters are terrifying and people for sure tell stories about them, but not like ‘they’re heroes’, more like ‘they’re insane and dangerous. stay the fuck away from them’. some stories are true, like how they’ve worked with demons, but some are just game of telephone. (dean has apparently a ghost he is frequently possessed by while sam is actually a mutant vampire). hunters hate and are scared of the winchesters. sam and dean are never invited to hunter stuff (burials, memorials etc) but crash them nonetheless even though the hunters do NOT want them there.
you know what drives me insane when i think about it? how some characters in spn already are their hbo spn counterparts; john. mary. adam. maybe kevin?
other things that already are their hbo spn counterparts: dean throwing away the amulet right in front of sam. eyes burning when angels are seen. how ghosts are just tragedies, stuck in a loop they can’t leave. how a lot of the monsters they meet are just victims or their circumstances or the first victim of a curse. the impala being sam and dean’s home. dean not knowing how to comfort sam when he’s upset other than trying to do things for sam that usually brings dean comfort (driving the impala, listening to rock music etc). the roadhouse. heaven being an eternal version of the memories that made you the happiest even though it’s not real. sam wanting independence and freedom but never fully having it. dean fearing being alone more than anything else and that’s where he always ends up. sam has an eating disorder after the demon blood and dean has an alcohol problem he refuses to see as a problem. dean saying “i’d do it again” without an ounce of regret and pouring himself a drink when sam tells him it was fucked up to lie to him about gadreel
the demon/angel hybrid: THIS could be sooo interesting to explore. an angel and demon hybrid are you kidding me?? not to toot my own horn too much but i’m so clever. i should write this story myself. SO. does this creature have parents who fucked in their vessels or was this an experiment by god (yes i love the ‘mad scientist’ idea, that really should’ve been played up way more) or did a pre-existing creature (human or otherwise) drink demon blood and angel grace at the same time so that it created itself? so much potential for some really intriguing storytelling and character exploration - not only the creature itself and what they would be like, but also for the people around; sam, dean, castiel, jack etc. how would they react to this thing that is the very definition of defying heaven and hell and all the natural laws? does it exist before the show starts or will we see its birth?
the powers of the demon/angel hybrid would be tricky; a mix of holy and defiant, grotesque and beautiful. unconsciously forces people to tell the truth when talking to them. poisons whatever they touch. eyes of a demon, wings of an angel. can smite but skin will burn when touching iron. can do deals but will require a sacrifice in return, not a soul, usually a body part taken then and there (the hybrid eats it. it favours eyeballs and the liver - angels like raw meat). lights always flicker. makes things explode when angry (esp people and cars). can manipulate feelings, thoughts and memories. can travel to both heaven and hell, not welcome in either places. + standard stuff like telekinesis, teleportation, mind reading, super strength etc.
sam and dean’s wardrobe are pretty much the same; whatever’s cheap and not covered in blood. however, they do have stylistic differences. sam thinks graphic tees are funny, dean uses whatever’s black combined with john’s leather jacket. their wardrobe melds as they stop thinking of themselves as individuals and more of “me and my brother,”. their clothes are tattered and torn to shreds all the time. hand me downs, hand me ups. when they stray off their “path” and do things that are the crux of a storyline/character arc, this would reflect in their clothes. when sam is with ruby and becomes more and more “evil” he wears more and more red, a colour he has stated in the past he doesn’t really like. when dean is dead, sam starts to wear his rings and john’s and dean’s leather jacket. when dean decides he’s going to say yes to michael he dresses in white, when sam is dead dean takes off every piece of jewelry except the amulet. he holds it clenched in his fists when he’s whispering what comes close to a prayer
logically the amulet should have a backstory but you know what? i love that it’s hinted to be just a piece of cheap jewelry sam found in a thrift store he decided to give to dean. but narratively it should be explained so... idk. what could be logical solution as to why it would react to GOD himself? maybe god wore it once cuz he thought it was neat but he sold it for three dollars because he wanted coffee and then sam found it a week later
i would prefer it if god didn’t show up at all (absent father number one) but if he DID he’s not all powerful just a true neutral (like death, 100% objective) who created a thing that just took a life of its own, much like a parent and a child - the parent helps the child but can’t control it. the times he did intervene or tried to do something it didn’t really have any real long lasting effect so he gave up on trying a while ago.
@spneveryseason talked about this, how the storyline of sam being possessed by gadreel would be horrifying if we saw everything from sam’s perspective instead of dean’s (her fic is wonderful). in the ‘dean slowly descends into a righteous murderer to become holy’ idea i have this tracks so damn well because again, if dean believes something is right, it is right, no questions about it. everyone around him is like “that’s really fucked up and you should make amends” but dean doesn’t see any reasons for why - sam is alive isn’t he? and seeing it from sam’s pov would really underline how horrifying, dehumanizing and belittling that experience was
john and mary are adam and eve. sam and dean are cain and abel are michael and lucifer. time is a flat circle. history never stops repeating itself.
sam is the villain of s4. he is manipulated and key information is withheld from him but in the end... would it made a difference? it crossed his mind, that he could be tricked because ruby is a demon after all, but maybe he likes the power, the feeling of freedom, that he wasn’t just the baby, the one who always needs permission to do things. if he has to drain possessed people to get that power... so be it. and it’s for a good purpose, until it isn’t. he’s hungry for more, to be feared and respected. he’s enticed by lucifer’s sweet words, the potential of all that power and the idea of ruling two out of three realms. dean manages to pull him back from the brink because sam decides he doesn’t want to be what john thought he was and fail dean and himself like that.
dean is the villain in s9. he is controlling, the mark of cain without the mark. what he says goes - it’s not a democracy, it’s a dictatorship. he doesn’t see how much pain, doubt and fear he causes the people around him. if some victims or civilians die on his watch that doesn’t matter - just some collateral damage. sam can’t make dean listen to him because dean is the older one, the one who’s always called the shots. dean is the angelic one, heaven’s chosen warrior, he is untouchable and unkillable. he’s is an excellent killer, filling the void with blood and rage which is better than the crippling fear of loneliness carved into his bones. 'i butcher for love, to protect,’ he tells himself. ‘why shouldn’t i exterminate, regardless of the cost? i’ve followed the rules, i’ve always sacrificed. now i call the shots. it’s my right.’
sam’s hell trauma is never magically removed. he’s stuck with the memories and the nightmares and the occasional hallucinations. castiel can’t do anything but offers to wipe his memory completely, but sam says no, he is still doing penance.
after dean comes back from hell he starts calling himself old man and jokes a lot about he’s 40 years older now (after he’s more comfortable about speaking about hell)
when sam comes back he feels ancient (he’s over 900 years old at least but he lost count), weary, tired and so so so out of place in this world. he’s forgotten how to put gas in a car, how to drive, how to use a credit card, all the song lyrics he and dean used to yell together, the faces of people he knew before he fell, the softness of a bed, the schools he went to, most of the hunts he and dean, how john died, who mary is, the initials carved into the impala, the taste of food that isn’t raw meat. it’s so much he’s forgotten that he has to relearn. he prefers figuring things out with castiel instead of dean because castiel doesn’t silently resent him for everything he’s forgotten
sam doesn’t laugh anymore. despite dean’s many and castiel’s few awkward attempts, it’s more like quick smile and a quiet “hmm”. on some days he recoils when he sees blood and guts, on other days he’s so apathetic it’s unnerving
sam sympathizes with the brought back mary and castiel more than ever. dean tries to get sam to remember things he’s forgotten from his childhood but sam can’t connect with it anymore. he stopped being that sam a long time ago. dean doesn’t know what else to do than try to force this connection to be revitalized and he fails. sam isn’t that person anymore and this wedge in their relationship becomes a central factor in dean’s s6-10 desperation and isolation. sam is here and safe but it’s not really sam, not the sam dean grew up with
while sam has forgotten how to make coffee, he now knows everything about angels, effective torture tricks, a bunch of lore + biblical history, how to navigate hell, the most powerful and influential demons, rare and powerful spells as well as perfect enochian (he will speak enochian without realizing and it feels more natural than english). lucifer and michael were surprisingly talkative (raging about the unfairness) when taking their anger and hatred out on sam and adam and each other. sam had access to all of lucifer’s memories and knowledge for the time he was the one in control. walking library and encyclopedia of biblical lore.
he still has some muscle memory from hunting and sparring, but sam is ghostly thin and very rusty. even though he’s an expert on lore, he’s not fit to go on hunts anymore and he knows it.
sam remembers adam and swears he’ll try to get him out, but he can’t. just thinking about the cage makes him vomit. he can’t talk about it, much less go near it. after a while sam thinks it might be better to let adam stay down there than let him come back up and feel this crushing emptiness and loss of direction
sam’s trials take place in s9 instead of 8; coinciding with dean’s villain arc. for sam the trials are a chance to redeem himself again, this time for good by closing hellgates forever. they’re scrubbing him clean of the demon blood and his sins and they give him a sense of purpose again now that he can’t join hunts anymore. it doesn’t matter if he dies because of it. it would be nice with a permanent and peaceful death that did something good. dean is taken aback by sam’s devotion to repent for something that happened years ago and for something sam has already paid for a thousand times over. dean realizes how messed up he himself has become and how he’s helped put sam here, on the cusp of self sacrifice again because of sickening guilt and self hatred. dean begs sam to not complete the trials at the cost of his own life and swears he’ll better himself, be a friend and a brother, not a jailer, dictator or a murderer. ‘if you won’t give yourself or life another chance, please give me one.’ ---> s10 pacifist dean learning to let go of the control, the violent tendencies and the rage
oh wait what if gadreel still possessed sam after the trials to heal him but sam is the one who invites the angel in? he’ll keep his promise to dean about staying alive, as well as heal from the inside and have breaks from the world when he doesn’t want to be present, like he and gadreel will alternate being the one in control. he keeps it a secret from dean and helps gadreel imitate him so dean won’t notice. it’s not so bad, being possessed by this angel - sam can say no anytime and gadreel is a nice guy. since they alternate on who’s present they can access each other’s memories, which is terrifying and embarrassing at first, but since gadreel and sam have been tricked and used by lucifer and been punished for it for far too long, they understand each other. now another creature knows their trauma and terrors without the need for verbal explanation. also having an angel residing in his body makes sam feel like he can hunt properly again because gadreel can heal him and take over in situations sam’s overpowered. this could show how messed up sam has come to view himself and his body.
dean is conflicted when he finds out; sam lied but gadreel does help sam heal, sam’s traumatized and his self-worth is fucked up and dean has contributed to that. dean convinces sam to push gadreel out, that sam is still valuable, loved and a good person who shouldn’t be in a place where he views his body and mind like a property to be occupied. sam’s faith begins to come back bit by bit, not in god, but in himself, his brother, in the good things in life. they build their little family; sam, dean, castiel, the hybrids, whomever of their allies that are alive at this point.
castiel can heal sam and dean’s wounds but they are never completely gone; they leave scars and phantom pains. the brothers have SO many scars over the years. dean flaunts them to impress people because he likes the questions and the fearful admiration, the attention and the nods of approval. sam hides them.
when dean is in a bad mood or needs to get his mind off of things, sam just drops something like ‘i don’t get the deal with led zeppelin. one of the most overrated bands of all time’ and dean will go OFF every single time about the entire led zeppelin history, their discography and how they’ve shaped rock music. this will go on for hours and sam will zone out after 1 minute. but dean rants nonsensically the entire drive and it does get him to think about something else for a little bit. they stop at a motel and dean is STILL ranting while brushing his teeth. stops when going to sleep but without fail picks up where he left off the morning after and is so into it he doesn’t notice sam not paying attention at all. we could see this once in s1 when they’re searching for john, another in s3 when dean is anxious about his deal coming to an end and then again in a later season, when sam doesn’t remember to ask/doesn’t have the patience or mental capability, so they’ll sit there in tense silence, showing how much they’ve changed.
---> i can see this SO clearly in my head, how they’ll get in the car and we, the audience, will recognize the camera angle, the same lines and dean’s grumpy mood, and we’ll anticipate what comes next. but sam isn’t that kid anymore and he’s not peeking at dean to gauge what his mood is and how much of a shit eating grin he should wear when being an annoying little brother to cheer dean up. now he’s looking out the window, leaned back, they’re not looking at each other. this shot is a minute or two long, uninterrupted. dean turns on music but neither are singing along or doing anything to lighten the mood.
s1-5: sam gets hooked on demon blood, dean has an alcohol problem. when sam goes through withdrawals, dean decides to quit drinking and joins him because he wants to be supportive, and he realizes that when he drinks two beers for breakfast there’s a problem
s6-10: sam takes painkillers, anti depressants and anti psyhosis meds to numb himself from the phantom pains and reduce post-cage effects. dean started drinking again after sam jumped and still does, but started smoking in addition because he still drives a lot and doesn’t want to die in something as pathetic as a car crash.
there a scene in an episode in the first half of s8, when sam has decided to stay with dean instead of amelia, and dean has rejected benny in favor of sam, and then the brothers sit in a couch watching tv while drinking beer and neither of them look particularly happy about it - that’s how their relationship is a lot of the time. they know they’re fucked up and neither of them will ever be truly happy when the other’s around, but they owe each other so much and they don’t have to explain themselves to each other the way they do to others. they know each other so well, each other’s traumas and the things they’ve done, it feels fake and exhausting to try to be something other than the veteran hunters they are. misery loves company; they are miserable together but would be far more miserable apart and living a normal life. they do love each other, but neither of them are particularly happy as the show progresses. family is hell and so is the lack of it.
OK OK i mentioned it in part one, how i had my own very specific idea about how jack should come to be and here it is. long winded but (might just write a damn fic):
after lucifer was cast back into the cage, he is stronger than he has been in a long time (being in his true vessel helped him stretched muscles he forgot he had. and fresh air.) sam is pulled out of the cage and it leaves a rift in the magic and chains - the binding is weaker and lucifer must act fast to get out before it heals. the cage is still strong enough to hold two archangels, so lucifer has to become weaker somehow to slip out through the cracks. he can’t get out of the cage, but souls can come in. demons bring themselves and human souls as tools for lucifer to use. there’s not much he can do here - consuming them, eating them, touching them, dissecting them doesn’t give him what he wants
eventually lucifer realizes he must do like azazel and create something new of two halves, like when he created demons. he begins melding his archangel grace with a human soul. he tries with demons, but his archangel grace automatically purifies them and leaves them too weak. he must try with a human soul who is good. he finds the soul of kelly kline, who sold her soul to save a loved one. with her, the merging, works.
he has another self, a twin, a son, who’s half human and half archangel. half lucifer. the old lucifer will die but that’s ok, his desires, presence and self will live on in his new creation. the new lucifer barely makes it out of the cage, only able to due to its human side. on earth it creates a body for itself and takes shape, no longer a form of pure power and energy akin to the sun itself but now a person, reminiscent of kelly kline on earth and lucifer in heaven. they name themselves jack. jack searches for familiarity and finds it in sam, their old self’s perfect tool and another hybrid. jack finds a mentor in castiel, a younger brother and fellow angel with human elements. they do not find anything in dean, the key to his former self’s doom.
jack’s powers: their powers are like and unlike the angels because he is half archangel. jack has wings but sometimes they don’t work, or they’ll end up somewhere else entirely. their body is their own, not a vessel, so jack can’t possess people. doesn’t talk but people “know” what they’re saying or want because jack emits their emotions and thoughts to people they’re talking to like a radio tower. jack can also have this empathic connection and communication with animals. his mood affects the weather. immortal. reads minds. can remove a soul from a body and send it to heaven/hell by touching it, with practice they don’t need to touch a body.
other stuff about jack: the human/archangel nature means jack only need sleep and food once a week or so. eats only nougat and raw meat. because jack is a kid they nap a lot. levitates when sleeping. never blinks, stares intensely at everything. their eye colour changes based on their mood. eyes glow in the dark. normal humans who look at jack for too long experience memory loss, fainting spells or migraines and eye contact for more than 10 seconds give vivid hallucinations of their worst nightmares. always barefoot, often floats like 10 cm off the ground because they find it more enjoyable than walking. wears the wildest clothes they can find, nothing matches and nothing is weather appropriate
i have a very specific image of jack in my mind; they look like delirium from the sandman comics with the hair that looks like it’s underwater and the fishes floating around their head, here and here are examples. in live action this would look not good or maybe even ridiculous for sure but in animation... endless potential for angels and monsters to have super interesting designs sigh
castiel’s arc should end with him going from blind soldier, to the unwilling ruler of heaven, finding a place on earth with sam and dean, becoming closer with humanity and eventually a father of three (the hybrids).

So I decided that for my day nine, I’d do a list of some of my favorite fics to give the fandom authors some recognition. Of course, all of our fanfic authors are amazing and I’m so grateful that they do what they do, but these are just a few of my favorites.
I tried to tag any authors that had a tumblr account, but it’s entirely possible I missed some, so if I did, sorry
This post isn’t super long but it’s pretty damn long so all below the cut
(also do note that my interest in bellarke is only a few months old so I have a lot more clexa fics than I do bellarke sorry)
Bellarke
Canon AU
Set The Dark On Fire by @talistheintrovert (complete)
Okay okay so this is a pretty dark fic, but god is it beautiful. After waking up from Cryo, Clarke and Spacekru try to figure out what to do about this new planet situation, but Clarke isn’t handling it very well and attempts a suicide. Like I said, pretty dark and serious, so if that isn’t your thing don’t read, but it’s amazing
Three Lives, Three Loves, One Face by @these-dreams-go-on (complete)
This fic has a ton of my favorite themes all mashed together and it’s amazing. Basically it’s similar to the Josephine!Clarke situation of s6, but Wanheda is an actual manifestation also inhabiting Clarke’s body so when Josie gets put into Clarke, Wanheda takes over and goes mass murder on Sanctum. Phenomenal fic, I’ve read it so many times and I adore it
Into The Anomaly by @fuckitup-in-style (WIP)
Time Travel AU!!! Starts after s6, but resets back to s1 canon divergence. The hundred all wake up on dropships and they all remember up until their deaths, and then it’s this thing where the mains all take charge and start herding up their crew. Just- if you like time travel fix-its, this is p e r f e c t please read it
And Now You’re Home by @asroarke (complete)
I just read this one recently and g o d is it amazing. After being left alone during Praimfaya, Clarke finds herself becoming desperate after being alone for so long. Until she finds out there’s been a grounder watching her the whole time. Grounder!Bellamy AU, with some accidental pregnancy that just makes it even cuter
Modern AU
I Found Peace in Your Violence by @eyessharpweaponshot (WIP)
I just found this fic a few days ago and holy shit is it a piece of art. I finally went through and read the entire 80k fic last night, it’s absolutely enthralling. Basically, there’s this gene called HTS and Clarke ends up having it, and so does Bellamy, and it’s just a beautiful story from both a romance and a plot standpoint. Such an interesting concept
our stars came in a packet of two by @millipop (WIP)
This isn’t a super long fic, it’s 20k right now and hasn’t been updated in a few months but what’s there is amazing. So the delinquent group is desperately trying to get Bellamy and Clarke together since they’re constantly denying their chemistry, but what the delinquents don’t know is that Clarke and Bell have actually already been together in secret and it’s such a fun fic, highly recommend
Don’t Wake Me, I’m Not Dreaming by grumpybell (complete) (I can’t find their tumblr sorry)
A very interesting AU where Clarke can see into other people’s dreams. She’s been meeting Bellamy in his dreams for years, him being the only person who could actually see her. Guess what happens when they meet in person? Probably not what you expect. Read the fic to find out, you’ll love it
reelin’ through the midnight streets by @detectivebellamyblake (WIP)
I haven’t finished this fic yet, but what I’ve read so far is wonderful. Basically Clarke, Bell and Octavia all grew up in a trailer park together, and eventually Clarke has had enough of her mom’s bullshit and decides to get out. Bellamy and Octavia go with her
Clexa
Canon AU
Broken Body, Broken Spirit by @vmplvr1977 (complete)
I love love love this fic!! It basically mashes together the worlds of The 100 and Deus-ex, and if you don’t know what the latter is don’t worry too much, the fic gives all the backstory you’ll need!! Basically Clarke gets severly injured and ends up with augmented limbs, and Lexa, thinking Clarke dead, has some pretty severe reactions to it all. Kind of an enemies-to-lovers, but it’s set after the s2 finale
Clarke Kom Azgeda by FMLClexa (WIP)
This fic combines so many of my favorite ideas it’s amazing. Coming back after a long hiatus, basically Clarke gets sent down to Earth alone and ends up in Azgeda territory. She’s tortured and trained into Nia’s top assassin for years, and eventually gets the order to infiltrate Polis and kill the commander. You can guess how that goes
A Riffle and the Sea by Follower_Of_Mania (complete)
I will say it’s been a while since I read this fic but it’s amazing. Another Clarke gets sent to Earth alone AU, but she gets adopted by Floukru and trained to be a seriously badass killer grounder, like even Lexa is pretty put off by her. Clarke and Lexa develop this really interesting relationship where half the time you can’t tell if they love or hate each other and it’s amazing
Ascendants by whiteleopard1124 (WIP)
So this isn’t entirely clexa, it’s also clarke x luna but it’s clexa enough. Basically Clarke and the hundred get injected with this solution before being sent to the ground, and it causes certain people to develop supernatural powers. But Clarke gets injected with a special serum that causes her to be extra-OP but like in a very very good way
doing the impossible (with you) by snowandwolves (WIP)
Another Time Travel AU where Clarke kills herself and, after having a discussion with the goddess of death herself, wakes up back in time. She (and her accomplices) work out how to rewrite their story and make everything go better than it did last time. One of the best time travel fics, in my opinion
Healer on the Ground by Owlmemaybe (WIP)
This has long been one of my favorite fics, I love AUs where Clarke turns grounder, and that’s exactly what this is. Basically Clarke has a healing talent, so she can heal herself and others on command, and during s1 gets separated from the 100 and ends up with Heda. Another fic that isn’t likely to get updated, but it’s 100k of goodness that you h a v e to read
Whispers In The Dark (Lead Us To The Light) by JadelynDeath (WIP)
This one also hasn’t been updated very recently, but it’s still 50k good words to enjoy. Wanheda!Clarke AU where Death is a real being and takes a liking to Clarke before she even touches the ground, and once on Earth Clarke is an absolute badass in leading the delinquents.
(my) Destruction Within Your Mouth by @entirelytookeen (WIP)
It took me so long to actually finish this fic once I started reading because oh my god the angst, it was actually too much for me. This is a beautifully written story, so many emotions, can’t recommend it enough. Basically, Clarke gets separated from the 100 and ends up temporarily mute while she’s taken in by Heda
She’s a maniac by ChocDog (complete)
Another big-time favorite, this has badass commanders Heda and Wanheda. The grounder culture is different in this fic, but in such a good way. They’re much more tribal than is portrayed in the show, preferring not much clothing, bloodthirstiness, but it’s amazing. Also Bellamy comes in and makes a fuss of things
Through the Looking Glass by RhinoMouse (WIP)
Role Reversal AU where Lexa comes down with the 100 and Clarke is a BAMF Commander of the grounders. It’s been a really long time since I’ve read this one but I remember loving every second of it. Faintly follows the s2 plot, but it’s different enough that not a second of it is boring
Can you See Me? by clexawarrior (complicated)
Okay so basically this story was discontinued, but the author left a summary of how it would’ve played out at the end, so it’s... complicated. But this is another one of my favorites!! Lexa was at the explosion on the bridge and got injured, Clarke brings her back to the dropship to care for her. A lot of sexual tension ensues
From The Ashes by ArchonsVoice (complete)
I love love love this fic!!! So basically the dropship landed in the sea rather than on land, the ship explodes, leaving Clarke stranded alone in the middle of the ocean. She’s rescued by a clan called Tseekru and after years of living with them, has a run-in with our one and only Heda and sets this whole thing going. Amazing fic, so many twists
Returning to Hell by ElseworldKara, littleraider99 (complete)
If you haven’t read this fic what have you even been doing honestly. Set two years after the s2 finale, Clarke leads the coalition beside Heda, and she’s returned to Arkadia to finally tell them to get their shit together or suffer the consequences. Very dark, a lot of character bashing on Abby, Bellamy, and others. An inspiration for many of my own fics
Then There Were Two by TheWorldNeedsMoreOctaven (WIP)
I haven’t read the most recent chapters of this, but it’s phenomenal. ABO universe where Clarke is the only omega sent down in the hundred (later followed by Raven), and they have to deal with the grounders and nature. It’s a lot more interesting than I make it sound, promise. Also very octavia/raven based too
Doctor on the Ground by @underneaththecovers-au (WIP)
Very angsty, very smutty fic. Clarke finds an injured Lexa while out of camp and takes her to the bunker to help her heal. Lexa pretends she can’t understand English, but even with the barrier, things get heated very quickly. You can imagine the chaos when Lexa’s secret gets out. Must-read
Modern AU
Vantage Point by thatoneloser_kid (complete)
This is pretty short, only 16k words, but god is it good. If you like dark!clarke, this is the story for you. Clarke, Lexa, Octavia, and Raven are all a bunch of criminals who run around- saving people?? That makes it sound like a superhero story but no, they’re all badass. Clarke is literally a psychopathic ex-assassin. It’s just an amazing fic
Are You A Kidnapper? (Because You Abducted My Heart) by 707 (complete)
This isn’t normally the type of fic that I like to read but I’m so glad I picked it up. So Clarke and Lexa have this hatred going on between them that’s actually just hidden attraction, and they’re finally forced to address it when they get kidnapped and locked in a room together. This fic has it all, fluff, smut, angst, an amazing plot, it’s just all around wonderful
Make Two Halves Whole by awkwardrainbow, Lexawoodz (WIP)
This one I also don’t remember all that much about other than that it was amazing. It’s been years since it was updated, though, so I doubt we’ll get any more, but what’s there is 80k worth of goodness. Clarke and Lexa meet online through Twitter, living on opposite sides of the US, but still manage to fall in love with each other
breathe into my lips the life i do not have by @ur-the-puppy (complete)
So this is another long-time favorite of mine!! It’s a 36k oneshot where Clarke moves into a house that ghost Lexa haunts but instead of being creeped out Clarke just starts chatting up the ghost and they become roommate buddies. Such a good fic, I highly highly recommend this one
You See the Smile That's On My Mouth (it's hiding the words that don't come out) by heartshapedcandy (complete)
Another fic I need to go back and reread, but I remember being absolutely absorbed in this fic!! Childhood friends to lovers AU, with a fuck ton of angst and confusion and oblivious pining dorks that you can’t help but love it to death. Also a lot of ‘’’’platonic’’’’ kissing
Other AU
Storm of the Heart by @cruellanita-bby (WIP)
Mermaid AU!! Clarke lives on an island where they grow up hating the mermaids that attack their fishing ships, and she hates them too until she finds Lexa the mermaid washed up on the shore, injured, and starts taking care of her. They fall in love and try to mend the relationship between their people. I’ve been keeping up with this one for a while, it’s so good, please read it
Hold Me Till The Stars Dim by @ur-the-puppy (complete)
I’m putting this one down here rather than in modern AU just because of how different it is from most modern AUs. Lexa goes camping with her friends out in the woods, some shit happens, and she meets what’s basically grounder Clarke, with a twist. This fic is so captivating, I loved it
You’re safe with me by I_am_clexa (WIP)
ABO modern AU where omegas are sold as slaves to alphas. Clarke is an omega who is bought by Lexa’s father as a gift to her, but Lexa doesn’t like the way omegas are treated and goes out of her way to give Clarke the best life she could possibly have
Other Pairings
Canon AU
Three Loves (Pieces Of Us) by @kendrene , @bae-in-maine (WIP)
Clarke/Lexa/Anya fic where Anya takes Clarke back to Lexa as a kind of prize, Clarke ends up making an alliance with the Trikru and maybe also falling in love with the commander and her general along the way. I’ve read this fic so many times, but it hasn’t been updated in years. It’s still 150k worth of amazing fic though
Twisted Steel by Steelehart (complete)
A clarke/raven fic where an explosion on the Ark leaves Clarke with two prosthetic arms. Follows fairly closely to the s1 plot once you get into it, but deviates in the later chapters. It’s an amazing fic I promise, please read it
Modern AU
and four makes home by @dreamsheartstory (complete)
This is over 300k worth of Clarke/Lexa/Octavia/Raven, which seems like a lot but I promise you it’s perfect. It’s been a bit since I read this, but from what I remember it’s your typical fall-in-love modern fic, just with the added angst of figuring out a four-way poly relationship

hello!! i just wanted to ask- i wanna do an ouat rewatch bc CAPTAIN SWANN but its pretty long and i honestly dont care for the other characters/how badly the overall writing was handled.. which are your favourite captain swan eps? anything them centered and i think ill just skip around to rewatch their romance as they did invent romance 😭😭 ty in advance <3
they absolutely did invent romance, you are right about that and i love them so much
UHMMMM as far as my favorite CS eps, here’s a roadmap of what I personally consider key eps in their journey (some of this is from memory but I haven’t done a full rewatch in a while so i’m going through the episode list as a refresher)
2x06: Tallahassee--this is a must-watch ep for any CS fan, and I really think this is the episode that sparked the fire that CS would become as a fandom. It has everything--flirtatious banter, all kinds of tension, deliberate parallels drawn between Emma and Killian’s pasts, as well as their first meeting being intercut with her relationship with Neal (which serves, especially in hindsight, to highlight just how sketchy that relationship was, and why she couldn’t bring herself to trust Killian--because the last time she felt this way about anyone, it ended horribly)
2x08 and 2x09: Into the Deep and Queen of Hearts--these episodes cover the race to the portal between Emma&co and Hook/Cora and while they don’t do a ton for CS as a relationship since they’re still enemies at this point, it lays great foundation for their future relationship development. Plus, sexy swordfight, Hook going out of his way to save Aurora’s heart--he may be a pirate, but he has standards ok--and Emma realizing Cora can’t remove her heart without her permission? Poetic Cinema
2x11: The Outsider--more of a Killian-centric episode, it shows a lot of Killian at his worst but it’s necessary for his overall character arc and I genuinely love looking back and seeing just how far he managed to come, to the point of eventually even letting go of his (very understandable) grudge against Rumplestiltskin.
2x12: In the Name of the Brother--am I including this purely for Emma&Hook banter in the hospital, and Killian saying ‘hey beautiful’ when he’s lying on the road because he just got hit by a fucking car? You bet I am. Also, go to youtube and look up ‘ouat season two deleted scene jello’, because it’s beautiful and there was a tremendous outcry in the fandom when we realized it had been cut from the episode lmao (It’s also the episode that made me start shipping Frankenwolf, which I’m still sad never went anywhere, but they had a lot of potential and great chemistry.)
2x22: And Straight On Till Morning--A few of the episodes in between have some fun minor interactions and flashbacks (and I always approve of episodes where Killian gets one up on Rumple, so 2x15 is fun for me if i ignore all the Neal bits) but the finale is where we finally get a glimpse of who Killian could be beyond his need for revenge. He didn’t have to come back, he didn’t have to bring back the bean and help the town--but he did.
Season 3a: there’s a lot of really good stuff here for Hook and Emma that is interwoven between the A plots of other episodes. I think, as far as half-season arcs go, it’s one of the best (and everything after 4a bombed hard, but I digress) But there are a few episodes that stand out if you don’t want to watch the whole season. (I recommend starting with the premier though, it was a really solid season starter overall.)
3x05: Good Form--this is the culmination of David’s poisoned-by-dreamshade arc, and is also Peak Captain Charming Bromance. Hook not only keeping David’s secret, but doing everything he can to help save him??? Poetic cinema. It also provides some crucial Killian backstory, showing how he lost his brother to the very same dreamshade. Plus, the character development--Pan offers Killian a chance to escape the island with Emma if he kills David, and instead, he saves him, refusing the deal and damn the consequences. Also also? The first CS kiss which drove the fandom WILD.
3X06: Ariel--not only to I love OUaT’s take on Ariel, but this episode has the infamous Echo Cave scene, which involves a lot of feelsy confessions and Killian being the one to tell everyone that Neal is alive and helping Emma save him despite his own growing feelings for her.....IT’S JUST A LOT AND I LOVE IT.
3x07: Dark Hallow--oh man, I’d forgotten about this episode, but it has Killian and Neal fighting over Emma, which may sound eye-roll worthy, but Emma is allowed to tear them a new one about it and it’s one of the few times she’s allowed to actually???? put her own feelings first so I have to include it here on spec
3x11 and 3x12: Going Home and New York City Serenade--these mark the end of 3a and start of 3b respectively, and it has some amazing shit like Killian vowing never to forget Emma and Emma smiling as she replies, “Good.” And then she and Henry are in New York with their memories completely altered, but Killian shows up because Storybrooke is back and in jeopardy, and he helps Emma get back to her family and her home and, much later, Emma finds out he sold the Jolly Roger to be able to do it and it’s just. It’s beautiful ok.
3x17: The Jolly Roger--there’s honestly not a whole lot in the back half of season 3 (until the CS movie) but of course anything named for Hook is a must-watch, and this is where we get the iconic line I swear on Emma Swan--which is Killian saying he’s in love with her before he even realizes it. We also find out just what he did to Ariel, and his attempts to make amends are what lead to Zelena being able to curse him, so it’s great from a character perspective as well.
The next four episodes round out the end of the season, and there’s a lot of great stuff in them--Hook refusing to get Emma to kiss him, but Emma feeling like she can’t trust him because he didn’t tell her about the curse to begin with, and then kissing him anyway to save his life regardless of the consequences.... but the only ones that are absolutely necessary are the final two episodes.
They are colloquially termed ‘The Captain Swan Movie’ for a reason, after all.
Killian and Emma essentially have an entire Time Travel adventure all to themselves, where they accidentally ruin her parents first meeting and have to fix it so that she’ll even be born, Emma finally getting into the storybook, the pair of them dancing at a ball, Killian rushing to save Emma only for her to get out of the cell herself, because “The only one who saves me is me.” Killian saying “I would go to the ends of the world for her... or time.” Finally fixing the timeline and making it back to Storybrooke and Killian feeling like he doesn’t deserve a place at the table so he doesn’t go inside, but Emma comes out to him anyway and finds out he gave up the Jolly Roger for her, the true start to their relationship...... IM CRYING JUST THINKING ABOUT IT I’M SORRY.
I personally really enjoyed 4a, the Frozen arc was one of the last good half-season arcs of the show, but a lot of people disliked it so it’s really up to interpretation. I don’t have as many Intense Opinions on this season (except hating almost everything about 4b and the queens of darkness arc), but I will say the episodes with good Killian/CS moments are 4x02 (Emma nearly freezes to death, Killian is desperate to save her, Captain Charming teamwork, my heart hurts), 4x04 (Emma asks Killian out on a real date, he tries to get his real hand back from Gold, things go massively awry and he winds up back under Gold’s thumb), 4x08 (Killian tries to save Emma from Gold’s plans), 4x11 (the 4a finale is just great in general), and then..... it cannot be overstated how much I hate season 4b, but 4x15 is the Killian-centric ep where his past with Ursula is revealed and he makes amends to her in order to get her to leave the QoD alliance and it’s great character stuff for him, and then there’s the season 4 finale.
Both parts are worth watching, if only because Deckhand Coward Hook still being a braver, more heroic man than ‘Hero Rumplestiltskin’ warms the very cockles of my heart, and of course the second part of the finale has him helping Henry to save Emma and it’s beautiful and also Emma watches him die for her and it is angsty as FUCK but gods I love it. Here’s where it gets tricky, though--my recommendation is, turn the episode off right after Emma finds Killian back in the present day of Storybrooke and they reunite.
Just turn off the episode there and skip right ahead to the s6 musical episode (Emma and Killian’s wedding ep) and pretend they got married and none of seasons 5 or 6 ever happened. >.> (Although I will say certain parts of the Underworld arc were incredibly feelsy despite how much I overall hated the season: 5x11 (the 5a finale, Killian as the dark one STILL being a better man than rumple, we love to see it), 5x15 (I am not immune to Brothers Jones feelings ok), 5x20 (emma literally takes a True Love Test trying to find a way to save killian, you don’t get more romantic than that--also Killian telling Emma to promise she won’t put her armor back up just because she lost him again??? my HEART), 5x21 (Hook does what he can from the Underworld anyway and zeus sends him back to Emma, they really just said ‘today I will invent romance’ and then Did That)
And then, yeah, just skip to the wedding. It’s beautiful, I enjoyed the music, personally, though I know musical episodes are hit or miss with most people. And if you turn it off when the last musical number starts (after the wedding ceremony, I believe) you can pretend it was the end of the show! =DDD
.....Oh my god I just rambled for years. I HOPE YOU FIND THIS USEFUL, ANON. I 100% support a CS-centered rewatch, their episodes were consistently some of the best across the entire series, and they are truly one of my favorite romances of all time.

Doing a post about TV shows. A long post
I'm gonna do it! A post that will be of interest to no one other than myself. I'm going to write about TV shows I like. I'll categorize them three ways.
1. Shows I'm currently fannish about 2. Shows I’m not fannish about any more but used to be 3. Shows I really like but never got fannish about (this will be the largest category) (FYI, I’m not including shows I watched a long time ago like Firefly or Buffy or X-men: The Animated Series though maybe I should do a separate post someday)
Oh, and I’m not going to sum up what each show’s about. I figure anyone can get that from Wikipedia.
Shows I’m currently fannish about
1. Spartacus
Why I liked it: An epic struggle for freedom. (No seriously. It is epic and awesome watching these gladiators and slaves fight for their right to exist). Sexy gay gladiators. (Sorry but it’s true).  One gay couple were among the very few characters who survive through the end. Speaking of which, the ending was heartbreaking but it was brilliantly done. What I didn’t like: The show often feels like it was made by a team of 14 year old boys. So much blood and violence, including like 10 shots per episode of blood flying out of someone’s mouth. Nudity literally everywhere, though at least it’s equal opportunity (and I liked it, sorry). Also, they reuse a few words to the point where it’s laughable. And by the 3rd season, I was sick of all the cameratime spent on the damn Romans and I just wanted more time for the ex-slaves. What else?: It has a good, active fandom despite that the final season aired in 2013.
2. The 100
Why I liked it: It was the perfect storm for me: I cared about nearly all the characters, I was hooked on the plot, and the ships were absolutely on point (both queer and straight ones). I really liked the world-building and believe there’s endless fanfic and headcanons you can make with the characters and settings the show served up.
What I didn’t like: Well, there’s a lot but I’ll try to be brief: the show probably should’ve ended with S5 instead of S7; it does contain a legendarily horrific example of Bury Your Gays; lots of character deaths;  the M/M couple I love got hardly any screentime, and S1 had an epidemic of cringe moments
What else?: Despite what I wrote above, I kinda liked S6
Shows I’m not fannish about any more but used to be
1. Agents of SHIELD
Why I liked it: This one was a sleeper agent for me. Didn’t love it at first but by the time I hit S3, I realized I was pretty hooked on the plot, and by S4 I was hooked on the characters. Also, the main ship is phenomenal (and straight! I can like straight couples!)   What I didn’t like: It is uneven at times. S1 was really slow and I nearly quit watching during it. I have mixed feelings about Coulson’s storyline but they kinda wrote themselves into a corner there. Also, any queer characters are few and far between. What else?: Overall its ending met the criteria of satisfying and reasonable.
2. Star Trek: Discovery
Why I liked it: Right wing sexist shits hate the show so you know it’s good. It has badass women of color everywhere. And a gay couple front and center. What I didn’t like: Since S2, the plots have been…good enough but they haven’t hooked me as much as S1’s. What else?: Extra points for having other queer characters, including NB ones, in addition to the M/M couple.
Shows I really like but never got fannish about
There will be a lot, so I’ll do this in alpha order
1. Brooklyn 99
Why I liked it: So many reasons. It’s funny. It’s serious when it needs to be. Great ships. The finale was perfect, with the final season taking on policy brutality head-on What I didn’t like: Not much? Sometimes they talk so fast I can’t get it all. Each episode is like 24 minutes long and you can tell they’re rushing it What else?: I wish I’d gone full-on fangirl for it because it’s kinda perfect
2. Dark Matter
Why I liked it: It was great sci-fi to me, with characters I loved on a starship. Simple as that. Put interesting people on a starship and send them off, boom! S1’s ending had me on the edge of my seat What I didn’t like: It was pretty low-budget, but I don’t care about that. There was a ship I wanted to happen and they tiptoed around it, but it never officially happened. What else?: It was cancelled after 3 seasons so it ends on a cliffhanger with no resolution. Boo.
3.  The Expanse
Why I liked it: This is sci-fi at its best. The setting. The detail. The characters. The plots. The writing. Primo. What I didn’t like: Not much. The first ep was a bit slow. One of the actors is a dick and was kicked off the show at the end of S5 so that was kinda a mess, but I am glad they got rid of him. What else?: My wife and I have watched every ep more than once.  And I am glad to see that this show is pretty universally acclaimed.
4. Legends of Tomorrow
Why I liked it: This show is like an amusement park. There are great rollercoasters, a ton of junk food, some bland rides for the kiddies, but then more great rollercoasters. It’s weird, it doesn’t make much sense, but somehow it’s great! The characters especially just work well. What I didn’t like: Well, there are lots of character shifts and changes, usually each season. We’re in S6 right now, and only 2 characters from S1 are still there, so it’s hard if you get attached to anyone. Also, S1 and the first half of S2 were duds. What else?: OMG the F/F couple is chef’s kiss!! Spoiler alert, they get married at the end of S6 and I nearly cried, it is effing perfect. I wish I could go full-on with shipping them, but like with Jake and Amy on B99, the bug never fully bit me for them though I do love them.
5. Manifest
Why I liked it: Idk it’s just good. I normally prefer stuff taking place in space or in the future or in the past, but for something that takes place here and now, it’s good. What I didn’t like: I just hope it will all come together and make sense during its 4th and final season? Sometimes I have a twinge of worry that it will not. What else?: There is a nice “surprise she’s gay” moment in S2 with one of the characters introduced in S1, and it made me very happy. But now they need to actually do something more with that other than just reference her ex a few times.
6. Never Have I Ever
Why I liked it: It’s funny! It’s topical! There are Indians everywhere and a hilarious teacher and a cousin dealing with sexism at work. I died laughing when it made fun of Riverdale. What I didn’t like: Nothing? Make more already! What else?: Bonus points for one of the main actors having been on Legends of Tomorrow. Should I make a list of actors who have appeared on more than 1 show here? Hmmmm…
7. The Outpost
Why I liked it: It just comes down to the fact that somewhere along the way, I fell in love with the characters. I really did. It just wrapped up its 4th and final season and the ending was effing perfect. A wedding. More than 1 happy couple. Effing effing perfect. What I didn’t like: Character deaths, two of which were painful. (And one of whom came back – only to die again, wtf). Also it’s boring at times, it clearly had like no budget, it has no canon queer characters, and most reviewers don’t like it. Tagline: “The poor woman’s Game of Thrones” What else?: So that’s a long list of stuff I didn’t like about the show. But fuck it, I still loved this show and am still happy about how well they wrapped it up. One of the actors is on Cameo and I just ordered a Cameo from him.
8. Q Force
Why I liked it: I mean it’s about a team of queer special agents. That is nirvana. Also: actual gay sex scenes. (What are we Spartacus???) And it’s hilarious. What I didn’t like: I would’ve loved to see an NB character or a trans character. They don’t even have a bi character though I thought Stat could be bi or pan? But they never say it or show it. I don’t get it What else?: Looks like the reviews were worse than those of The Outpost, so that’s pretty bad. It might not live to see a second season
9. She-Ra
Why I liked it: Girl power, queer characters, an epic battle of good and evil, and a bangin’ theme song. What more could I want? What I didn’t like: I can’t think of anything? What else?: That ending. My jaw dropped. Wow.
10. Star Trek: Lower Decks
Why I liked it: It’s really funny. Plots are good enough too. Bonus points for one of the lead characters (Beckett) making a passing reference to having dated both men and women – now we just need to see more on that subject. What I didn’t like: This was no problem for me, but a lot of the jokes are Star Trek-in jokes that you won’t guess if you’re not a fan. Also I like 2 of the main characters (Beckett and Boimler) way more than the other 2 who are kinda boring. What else?: Another Star Trek animated series is coming out soon. This franchise won’t quit and I’m livin’ for it!
11. Twelve Monkeys
Why I liked it: This show made the list largely on the strength of its ending. Because it was The. Best. Ending. Of. Any. TV. Show. Anywhere. What I didn’t like: It ran for 4 seasons, and the middle 2 seasons sagged a bit. Also, the female lead is very conventionally-attractive while the male lead is not. You never do see the reverse, do you? What else?: Really and truly the ending is so good that all flaws are forgiven. Oh, and Stevie from Schitt’s Creek is in it.
Speaking of which, several shows didn’t quite make the list like Schitt’s Creek and The Orville. I should go back and add them in, they were good, I mean come on the gay couple in Schitt’s Creek is perfect….

When we start writing novel or TV show, we start with our characters, how they start and how they end. That what make our story moves forword. In the 100, Bellamy complete his arc at the end of season5, what are he doing now? Helping clarke and Octavia to complete there's?!?!? I didn't understand Bellamy story s6
This is a good question. I have been thinking about this. Partly because I’ve been watching that hero’s journey for a while, waiting for Clarke and Bellamy to compete theirs. And it keeps, kinda, not being finished.
Except now Bellamy finished his hero’s journey and Clarke... well... Clarke has been a struggle to understand because it seems like she almost gets there and then there’s more. That’s when one of my followers asked if I thought Clarke was, instead, on a HEROINE’S journey. And tbh, even though my college was super feminist, I never encountered the heroine’s journey while I was studying English. I think because it was right around the time the heroine’s journey was introduced and I just didn’t catch up to it. So while I’ve been working with the hero’s journey for 30 years, I haven’t with heroine’s journey. Which takes the hero’s journey and then continues it with a rejection then reconciliation with the masculine, in a form that allows the heroine to be female and powerful in her own way. So yeah. You asked about Bellamy, but i’m getting there.
Bellamy finished his hero’s journey in s5. Clarke is still wrapping up her heroine’s journey in s7. So what the heckers is Bellamy’s journey NOW???
No. It’s not to help Octavia and Clarke finish theirs. He’s still the secondary protagonist and his path is his own. He and Clarke have paths that twine around each other’s like binary stars, but they’re both equal, even now when he’s finished his hero’s journey. And Octavia’s path is HER OWN, and she’s been facing it on her own, too. He wasn’t even there for most of it in s6, so that can’t be his purpose. And you MIGHT say it was to save Clarke, but... he’s not the secondary player in that. It is, all along, about his choices, his goals, his obstacles, not hers. Their stories are separate, even as they have the same goal, even as Bellamy is dragging the girl in Clarke’s body through the woods.
BELLAMY has a story arc in season 6 leading into s7, since s6 and s7 are the SAME story, with no restart for the new season. The final book of The 100 is essentially being told with one story, unlike the five seasons/chapters of the first book.
So what? Clarke’s story is a continuation of the heroine’s journey, but Bellamy’s hero’s journey is OVER. Where can we find guidance for what Bellamy’s story IS in season 6 and 7???
Go back to season 5. After he saves the day by stopping Octavia through his healing and responsibility and love, he saves the day by accepting the enemy prisoners onto the ship, and setting the new world onto a better path where it is no longer blood for blood nor are people expendable. What happens after that? He makes up with Clarke, he welcomes her back in the fold, Monty finds them a new world and then proceeds to give them tasks. Two (no three) tasks. Take care of Jordan, (wait no that was Harper’s task, let me go back to two,) BE the good guys, and LIVE a happy life like he did with Harper and Jordan.
HERE is where I started to get my inklings. Because it is clear that the task of s6 was “Be The Good Guys.” But if we watch the season, that isn’t Bellamy’s goal. He’s ready to take claim of the abandoned Sanctum for his people, to push Octavia out until she straightens up, to hold Echo accountable for not being open enough, to take vengeance on Sanctum for killing Clarke, to burn down Sanctum to get Clarke back, to abandon his people to danger to save Clarke, to sacrifice Sanctumites for his people. Nope. He’s really not in it to be the good guy this season. Clarke is. Bellamy is not.
This is where it starts to get interesting for Bellarke fans.
What do all his goals have in common? Love. Family. Intimacy. Need. Romance.
OH MY GOD. Bellamy’s goal for s6 and s7 is a straight up Heart goal. While Clarke needs to be the good guy, a Head goal, BELLAMY needs to have his family together, safe, and he needs to be able to LOVE.
What... what kind of stories have LOVE as the goal?
Yes it could be a family story... except he left his family, he was willing to sacrifice his family for Clarke. When he first found out she was murdered, when he found out she was alive, at the edge of sanctum when they were caught, a hundred times when Josephine was trying to bribe him with safety or threaten him with death for all, when he didn’t want to let Clarke go back in undercover. He was, in the narrative, in the dialogue, and in his choices putting CLARKE above everyone else, because he needs her. He ALSO brought up his current relationship and how that wasn’t enough for him, in direct comparison to Clarke enjoying herself with another man (who looks like him) and her previous scene of intimacy and openness, which he does not feel like he gets from Echo.
Right? So not only is he choosing Clarke over his family for partnership, ethical, loyalty and vengeance reasons, but ALSO for emotional, romantic, intimate, and EVEN physical reasons. He manhandled her all over Alpha, and saved her life with his need, his hands on her body and his lips on hers. No, those weren’t sexual in nature, but the emotion was there, the need. It was desperate AND passionate (just the wrong kind of passion.)
While Bellamy’s season begins with him trying to find a place for his family (now including Clarke) to live in love, he is also trying to figure out what that love means to him and what he wants from it. Leading to his teasing with Clarke, his anger with Echo, his hard and fast boundaries with Octavia, his intimate forgiveness convo with Clarke, the jealousy watching Clarke, the anger that Echo couldn’t be more like Clarke, even the intention to commit to Echo and not long for the past with Clarke (incidentally, that’s pretty much a confirmation that he was in love with Clarke pre time-jump. In order to reject the past he needed to have that romantic goal in the past.)
Bellamy’s goal. Is to find love. To live in love. To be happy like Harper and Monty. Bellamy’s goal is to find his happy ever after. His true love. Y’all.
Bellamy’s story arc for s6 and s7 is A ROMANTIC NARRATIVE. S6A had him trying to choose between Clarke and Echo, almost choosing Echo (or choosing her in name) then learning Clarke was dead and flat out losing it. Not wanting ANY intimacy from Echo around his grief, being alone. His head may have chosen Echo, but his heart chose Clarke. And his heart chose Clarke when she was dead and gone and he could no longer pretend he didn’t love her.  All is lost in his search for love.
Except she wasn’t dead. All of a sudden, his narrative goals focuses down to ONE purpose. Save Clarke. Forget making nice with the Lightbournes. Forget his relationship with Echo. Forget what was going on on the ship or with Abby or Jordan or with Madi or Raven or Murphy. ALL was Clarke. “you care more about Clarke.”
YUP.
Season 6B was a full on Save Clarke storyline. And not as a group. Nope. No Siree Bob Morley. The group was busy taking care of the tasks that Clarke and/or Bellamy usually do. The ethical struggles, (raven.) The tactical struggles, (echo.) The political struggles, (murphy.)
Bellamy, whose goal is now getting back to his true love, is the only one going on that mission to save her. That’s because it isn’t a political mission or a tactical mission or an ethical mission. It is not another war. It is a desperate mission to save the woman he loves. Because he needs her. Because he won’t let her die. And it turns out she won’t leave him, either.
This.
Is.
A.
Bloody.
Love.
Story.
Bellamy’s storyline for s6 and s7 IS A ROMANCE STORY.  His goal is to get back to his true love and live a happy life.
Clarke is still about heroine’s journey, saving humanity, redeeming them.
Bellamy’s is about love.
Which, not coincidentally, is what makes survival worth while. It’s why this whole adventure began in the pilot, because Abby was desperate to save her daughter and sent 100 (+2) delinquents to earth to do it. There HAS to be more to life than just impossible decisions and a tragic end. They can choose to live.
It also isn’t until AFTER he saves Clarke, admits he needs her, and gets to share himself with her that he’s able to forgive Octavia and begin joking with her again. It’s almost as if when you let yourself FEEL your real feelings, instead of burying them under duty and anger and resentment, that the good feelings come back.
Anyway.
This is what I think is Bellamy’s new journey. In order to complete his journey as The Heart of The 100, he needs to be with his soulmate, without any more boundaries between them.
Bellamy’s storyline is a romantic storyline. Boy meets girl. Boy loses girl. Boy gets girl back. Endgame.
antis do not interact. lol

What happened on Agents of SHIELD?
I haven’t watched any new episodes since early/midseason six (the one with just Fitz and Simmons... I found them so annoying in that one ugh), so all the information I have is second-hand; about the bare facts and not about the ~progression, which makes it hard to analyze it structure-wise (though at first sight I saw a lot of AOS vs Endgame content lmao).
Some of what I’ve heard about the finale/each character’s ending. I’m not putting it under a cut because I have no idea if tumblr fixed that glitch on the ask posts, so SPOILERS AHEAD.
-Daisy gets a happy ending exploring space with an unknown long lost sister (I love that her bio family played a part on the ending, but damn if I don’t wish Jiaying had made it too...), and brand new boyfriend Daniel Sousa. That last bit is such GOOD MCU-related trolling my head is still spinning (apparently they never even explicitly state he and Peggy were involved? And imply the breakup was for work?? And Jemma impersonates Peggy, whose real face we don’t see?? Is that an actress related thing lol. He’s just heart-eyes over Daisy, and his whole story seems to be about a glowup vs. Steffie xD).
-Sousa survived because after he attempted to be self-sacrificing and staying on the past in the alt-timeline (?) to help protect it after the mess they made (? that’s what I gather from the “AOS dealt with time travel better than Endgame did” posts xD), Deke “pulled a Stefan” and offered himself in his place xD. I can’t tell you how glad I am Deke/Daisy never became a thing, btw.
-Fitz and Simmons retired and take care of their daughter. In some kind of cabin/woods/country house? Idk it seemed to have ~nature around in gifsets. Is this another Endgame dig? Who knows.
-May became an instructor for S.H.I.E.L.D. as head (?) of the Coulson academy. Flint was there?? (if I’d been told he appeared in s6 maybe I wouldn’t have given up so fast xD). She and LMD Coulson don’t seem to become romantically involved, and he’s travelling the world and having a blast.
-May also became an empath and I’ve heard her powers were key on the final victory?
-Mackelena are still romantically involved, I think. Mack is still director :DDDDD. Elena is in a chaotic team with Piper and LMD Davis (? D’aw).
-Enoch is the only one that died, apparently. I was sad to hear it because I liked him, but given how proppy he was of Fitz and Fitz/Simmons, I wondered if it was a good sign.
-Other than Jiaying, Flint, and some Hydra dudes I don’t remember/know rn about other important cameos from past seasons.
-Fitz only appeared in the final episode and I’m sort of curious if there was something going on with the actor. Was he working on something else? Was there drama?
-My head keeps linking this final season to The 100′s for some reason, but I’ll have to finish both so the comparisons ~take body and I can make a post about that at some point :P

I was tagged by @bloodysteel ! Tysm, I am mega bored.
1. Which character are you most excited to learn the endgame of:
Tumblr media
Look, we all know my answer is Bellarke. I do care about all of the delinquents to varying degrees (Especially depending on which season we’re talking), but if we’re being real with each other I’d sacrifice the others over a pit of fire for Bellarke’s happiness. Especially after season six. Sue me!!
2. Which character are you most excited to learn the backstory of: Honestly, I want us to focus on the main cast that we have NOW and how we’re going forward. I don’t really care that much for Sheidheda and all, but I know we’re going to get it, sooo. I suppose if I have to choose, I’m the most curious to see what happened with Diyoza, Hope, and Octavia in the anomoly, but eh.
3. One character who deserves a new look: Clarke and Bellamy both really do. First of all, my girl has worn the same jacket for two seasons. WHY have they refused to change their main character’s look? They haven’t kept her in the same thing for this long ever. I would also love to see her hair pulled half back or something, just for some variety. I also think part of the hair pulled back would just be a really cute callback to earlier seasons, but what do I know.
Also, beardless Bellamy. Please. And give the man some new clothes and a HAIRCUT. I want the curls bouncy. In fact, just let Bob style his own hair because he does a better job anyway.
Tumblr media
4. Two locations you want to revisit: THE FREAKING DROP SHIP. I don’t know how it would happen and it never will, but it’s where we started and it’s what we deserve.
Also wouldn’t mind a Bellarke scene in that glowy cave we had Belltavia in, but shh.
5. Three brotps you hope get more screentime:
The 100 loves ruining my BROTPS. It really does. But for the end of the show, I’d like some nice, functional:
Clurphy! These two Slytherins are great together. I hated the way everyone but Bellamy treated Clarke in S6, but I want my girl to end the show with more friends than just Bellamy. Please.
Tumblr media
Murphamy. Murphy annoyed me last season, but when his brotps are on, they’re on.
So, honestly, hate Raven right now and don’t care all that much for her, but I would love to see some Princess Mechanic in the last season. These OG deliquent relationships DESERVE that for the ending.
Honorable mentions to Bellamy/Miller and Madi/Jordan as well.
6. Who will get the happiest ending:
Who I WANT to get the happiest ending is Bellarke, but I could also really see it being Raven.
7. Which minor or new characters you want to see more of:
Literally the OG delinquents. That’s what we and they deserve for the final season. However, I do like Gabriel and Jordan, and wouldn’t mind seeing more of them. I wouldn’t count Diyoza as minor or new, but I love her, so more of her is always good.
Also, I don’t really care for Russel, but I love JR Bourne, so if they do something interesting with him, I’m down. I still think if they do (Which they obviously are) the Sheidheda thing as a bigger plot line, he needs to be in Russel’s (stolen?) body. JR could play a role like that, and frankly he deserves something more badass than Russel, anyway.
8. Who will eventually snap Jordan out of the funk we see him in, at the end of 6x13:
Bellamy would make a lot of sense, but he seems like he will be pretty engaged with the Octavia storyline. I’m going to go out on a limb and say it will be Clarke or Raven, someone more engaged with the Sanctum storyline. I might have a better answer for this after rewatching S6, though.
9. Who will be the first to tell Bellamy he can’t immediately run into the Anomaly after Octavia:
Obviously Hope, Gabriel, and E/cho, but IF he doesn’t end up doing it immediately, Clarke, y’all. At least, she’s going to be the most insistent about it. She just lost her mom and she’s going to be protective protective protective. Wait and see.
10. To reference Monty’s ‘do better’ mantra:
I would like to see it be someone like Emori, but this line has been repeated so many times, it could be anyone.
11. To say ‘go float yourself’:
I really would love it to be Bellamy. Pls give it to me.
12. Random object or prop you would bring back for Season 7 if you could:
Would love to see something sentimental like Clarke’s dad’s watch or her drawings of Bellamy from Eden, but what we will probably get is the 172nd shot of Lxa’s broken throne .
Tumblr media
13. Book One storyline/reference you want to see back for Season 7:
BELLARKE GETTING THAT DRINK. PLS. That would literally be such a nice way to end it.
14. Dead character you would like mentioned:
Wells and Roan. Honestly, you know what, I didn’t like him, but narratively, they owe it to Finn as Clarke’s first love interest to mention him too. It doesn’t make sense to only constantly mention one former love interest and not the other. It’s just stupid.
15. How do you think Hope and Octavia know each other (from season 6):
I just sorta assume they all lived a weird limbo in the anomoly together. Seems like they’ve been working together to try to stop someone, but who knows with the limited info we have.
16. How do you think it all will end?:
Bellarke babies. (Bring my clown mask back).
Tagging: Literally anyone reading this, consider yourself tagged! :) I want to see all your answers!

Hey @wolfheartgirl! responding to you here because boy that post is getting LONG
Thanks for joining the conversation! Always good to have more opinions! I’ll admit I also don’t agree with your points completely and I just in general have a different view of the characters and relationships I think. Also, being 110% honest here - I didn’t finish season 6 so I might be iffy on all the details and how they play out. At some point I just really could not bring myself to keep watching, not just because of what was happening but because of how bad the execution of the writing and the acting was. Let’s face it - no matter what ships or characters we like or what side of the fandom we’re on, we ALL deserved better than what we got execution wise. And that’s disappointing. :(
Anyways, onto some body-snatched Bellamy discussion!
1. The Monty Thing - completely fair points! I did forget that they reached out to Wells’ actor first and he was unavailable, which is a shame. But that’s a good reminder that sometimes writing gets dictated on television because of things like that the writers can’t control. I do think you’re correct here, and I was wrong when I said it didn’t make sense for it to be Monty. Monty appearing to Clarke was much more about his legacy and what he had asked them to do than it was about his relationship with Clarke. On second thought, yes he was the only one who really fit there.
What I WILL still argue is, even if it works with Clarke, it still WOULD have had more weight and emotion behind it if it was Bellamy. So basically, it’s fine as is in canon, might have worked BETTER if it was Bellamy.
2. Honesty hour. I don’t know....what Octavia did in season 6. I really don’t. I tried to follow. There was some quicksand and some time travel and I was just really lost and disinterested at that point and I stopped watching and I STILL don’t know what she did in the finale.
Octavia’s redemption is......iffy. As is. I love Octavia. I don’t always love Octavia’s writing. I really don’t like anything I saw of Octavia’s writing in s6 aside from getting paired with Diyoza, though even THAT fell flat for me. And I really don’t understand what role she played in this season at all.
So maybe she would have crossed lines trying to save Bellamy, but I also do think there is a possibility to do something fun with switching the dynamic to being “my brother, my responsibility” and her trying to make up for hurting him last season. Again, don’t know WHAT she did last season, so being part of the Save Bellamy Squad would have at least pulled her into the action a little more. (I know that Octavia’s time travelling quicksand adventures are supposed to help set up the whole s7 thing but honestly.....it’s way too confusing and disconnected from the rest of the season and would probably be better cut.)
3. Inside Man Murphy. Fair! Completely far! Murphy 100% would not have helped them he is ride or die for his family ESPECIALLY after last season. And true, his anger and growing indifference did lead to him helping Josephine! (I didn’t get to 6x11 lmao, but I am kind of glad to hear it was about Abby, not Clarke. That makes A LOT more sense for his character.) And I don’t think CLARKE saying she was proud was OOC - I more meant that in my opinion it doesn’t make a lot of sense for that to hold much weight with Murphy considering he DOESN’T care about Clarke or her opinion of him.
What I will say about this is that not every detail of how the season was written is going to work with Bellamy as the bodysnatched because it wasn’t written for Bellamy. It was written for Clarke to be bodysnatched and so all the details of that storyline are going to support that. The idea behind switching it was an attempt to try to fix some of the main character and relationship arc issues last season with one simple fix, though the entire execution of the plot would then have to be adjusted to fit Bellamy and not Clarke. So yeah, Murphy’s storyline as a WHOLE would probably have to be adjusted - if not completely changed - to make sense with his character.
I was thinking about this actually and I think in general most of Murphy’s storyline needs to change. For instance, why did his near death experience THEN suddenly spark this fear when he nearly died in the finale of s5. It wasn’t necessary to have him nearly die AGAIN just to convince us that Murphy is scared of dying. He always has been. That’s a core part of his character. It’s kind of redundant.
But I was thinking that the main arc Murphy goes on in s5 is that he feels worthless and that triggers his fears of being unloved and abandoned. This is a pretty core part of Murphy too so it makes a lot of sense. I didn’t think the resolution of this arc was the best, but Murphy choosing to save his family and being instrumental in doing so and then Monty and Bellamy risking their lives and the lives of everyone in the finale do a lot to prove to Murphy that he’s not worthless or expendable.
Rather than switching to a completely new arc for him in s6, it’d be nice to keep expanding on this idea. That might mean removing him from his current canon storyline completely (which, although I did like it and it IS in character, doesn’t add much more to his character since he’s already gone though many similar arcs)
What if instead he took on more of a leadership role in saving Bellamy? That’d be something new from him we haven’t seen before. It would echo back to moments in s5 when Bellamy asked for his opinion or he was the one to make a decision for the others. It would be a really exciting new adventure to take his character on and it’d just be new for him. Maybe then he could work closely with Clarke and we’d get an interesting new dynamic there. It’d also let Murphy continue his journey of realizing that he is not worthless, which is nice.
Just spitballing here. I do agree his current arc doesn’t at all work with bodysnatched Bellamy, so it would definitely have to change.
4/5. Ok, here’s where we won’t agree, haha. I’m not a Bellarke shipper at all. I don’t disagree that s6 was very centered on Bellarke. It was, absolutely. My issue is that that is directly at odds with s5. s5 set up Becho in the beginning, forced them through struggles and separated them for most of the season, but then reunited and reenforced their relationship at the end of s5. The clear takeaway seemed to be that Becho was here to stay and strong. Bellamy and Clarke’s dynamic was certainly important, but it wasn’t framed as romantic in s5 and wasn’t, to me, framed to be more important to Bellamy than Echo.
s6 then goes and completely flip-flops that with no development to get there. Becho goes from ending the season strong to finding over nonsense and then Bellamy being completely focused on Clarke. s6 absolutely frames Bellarke as more important, but it’s frustrating that it is so at odds with the season that came before it. If they wanted to switch from Becho to Bellarke - which I’ll admit, I’ll never be happy with - it at least needs to have more development. Because the last we’ve seen, Becho is happy and Bellamy and Clarke are not on the same page and dont’ have the same priorities. If they did want to change that, there just needs to be more growth between Bellamy and Clarke that isn’ reliant on what happened between them several seasons ago.
So frankly, I don’t think with EITHER of them bodysnatched that can happen. They don’t have the time to get to know each other again (remember, in canon, they haven’t seen each other in six years! you can absolutely re-fall in love with someone you knew, but it isn’t instant) which NEEDS to happen to sell that relationship. It isn’t good enough to me to rely on the development of early seasons when both characters have changed SO MUCH and been separated for so long.
I’m not going to argue whether the writers intend for Bellarke to be canonically romantic because honestly they have been so back and forth about it and unclear in the writing that I’m going to need some outright “I love you”s before I buy it. I do think they’re important to each other, I’m just going to need more recent development before I buy it, espeically after last season ended with Becho going strong.
6. Scrap the sheidheda storyline. Just scrap it. I really dislike it and it adds clutter to an already busy season. I don’t believe it really added anything of importance and just distracted from the other plotlines going on. You’re right it probably wouldn’t work with bodysnatched Bell but like.....I’m all for just getting rid of it. There’s more interesting ways to use Madi than whatever that nonsense was.
7. True! I actually talked to someone else about this. As it is currently written, the nightblood is a problem. However, like I said this plot and all it’s details was written to fit Clarke and it can easily be adjusted and re-written to fit Bellamy. Since bodysnatching and Sanctum was totally new this season, it doesn’t contradict anything previously established to just cut the nightblood thing out. A lot of other random details probably don’t fit for it to be Bellamy either because it just wasn’t written that way.
So yeah! Those are my thoughts :) Whew that was long.
I would also just really love to see everyone saving BELLAMY this time around since he’s always saving everyone else.

I’m Leaving Tumblr: A Farewell to my Followers
I haven't been very active on this blog lately. If you're observant, you've probably noticed it. If I really wanted to, I could probably just leave it that way; everyone would eventually take me off their followed list as an inactive blog and absently wonder where I went. But I don't really want to do that.
In his poem “The Hollow Men,” T. S. Elliot wrote, “This is how the world ends: not with a bang, but with a whimper.” In my case, though I'm not a popular blog by any stretch, and though this arguably isn't a website that deserves the fanfare, I don't want to leave with a bang, but at least with a whisper: “Thanks for the memories. I'll be on my way now.”
To do that properly, I have to take you on a little ride.
Tumblr media
In my time on this website, I:
Joined tumblr in June of 2017 for the purposes of posting art.
Proceeded to not post a lot of art.
Found the Captain America, Voltron, and Ninjago fandoms on here and got swept up in those instead.
Got my first 100 notes on a post about Dr. Julien. Dabbed in celebration.
Made a post about Shiro and Bucky maybe being friends.
Bought a mug from mintmintdoodles—and liked it!
Went on a missions trip. Came back.
Reblogged a LOT of fandom stuff.
Saw Wonder Woman, which was good.
Celebrated my first Steve's Birthday—I mean Fourth of July on the site.
Made lots of Clone!Shiro theory posts.
Made a dumb “who in Voltron likes anime?” post.
Fell in love with Matt Holt.
Started posting “Grass Whistle”, my first multi-chapter fanfic.
Got a job, which kinda put the kabosh on the fanfic for a bit.
Bought a print from mechinaries.
Found a bunch of my other fandoms on this site including Lord of the Rings, How to Train Your Dragon, and Hamilton.
Celebrated my first Christmas on the site.
Participated in the Ninjago Secret Santa, where I actually got my friend Candaru's prompt and it was hilarious.
Kinda ghosted through the first winter months of 2018 as my job occupied more and more of my time.
Resumed posting Grass Whistle in the spring of 2018 and finally finished it, to a wonderful reception.
Saw Black Panther and loved it!
Started posting “The Run and Go”, to a better reception on FF.net than this site.
Saw Thor: Ragnarok and wished we got to see that hug.
Witnessed the best season of Voltron (S6) before everything went downhill.
Went on vacation. Came back.
Wrote and posted “Brother”.
Posted art celebrating Candaru's story “Several Dead LEGOs Play Cards”.
Went on the missions trip again. Came back.
Saw Infinity War and was in DENIAL.
Reconnected with a friend with whom I'd been through a really rough patch over the past couple of years, and began to mend our friendship.
Posted a really long queue of LotR stuff for no particular reason.
Watched Voltron end; it was terrible.
Started a new year and continued to keep the blog busy with lots of queues.
Watched Alita: Battle Angel and it was AMAZING.
Posted a really long How to Train Your Dragon queue for no particular reason.
Continued to dread Endgame.
Watched Endgame. Stayed in denial.
Fell behind on Ninjago seasons.
Watched the Voltron and Ninjago blogs I follow fade into inactivity until I was left with nothing but gifs of Endgame and my own sadness.
Kept the charade going until the summer of 2019 hit and I realized that I'm doing out of obligation what should be for fun.
I don't really know how to state this in a kind way, but neither the circumstances that brought me here nor the conditions that kept me here exist any longer. This is a fandom blog, and it's a tough break when you've fallen either out of step or out of love with your fandoms. Keeping up the queue is the only way that my blog stays active on my work days, but it isn't fun. This blog stays inactive because upkeeping it is a chore—a chore that I keep putting off, and a chore that no one asked me to do.
2 Timothy 2:20-21 says, “In a large house there are articles not only of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay; some are for special purposes and some for common use. Those who cleanse themselves from the latter will be instruments for special purposes, made holy, useful to the Master and prepared to do any good work.”
I never really understood that. What does Paul have against common things? Does he have beef with clay? But I think I get it now—it's a simple matter of removing clutter. Cleaning out what's unnecessary so that the only things that remain are the best ones.
I'm not leaving tumblr because I have any anger against the site or any one person or fandom or whatever. I'm not leaving because something cataclysmic happened, or because I was abducted by aliens and their planet has bad wifi. I'm leaving because I've had some time to think, and I've decided that it's for my best mental health that I leave this chapter behind. Plain and simple.
Those who know me personally probably know that my prayer for 2019 has been centered around a single word: Restoration. The past few years have been hard ones for me, and it's time to rebuild and restore what's been broken. Sometimes repairing a house means tearing out the moldy walls first. Sometimes being your best self means eliminating distractions.
Because that's what these are—distractions, layered on distractions. Marvel distracted me from the real world, and Voltron distracted me between Marvel movies, and Ninjago distracted me when Voltron turned sour. When those fell through, I turned to old fandoms to distract myself. And when I finally extricated myself from that mess, made amends with some people, looked up, and faced my situation for what it is, I realized that it's not something I can maintain.
I'll still keep the blog up. I won't deactivate it, because deactivated blogs make me sad and wonder if there's some tragedy here that I don't know about. Especially since the platonic prompts post continues to make rounds, I want people to be able to come back to this blog if they wish and see what the original poster was like—someone who loves friendship in fandoms, celebrates it, and spent two years creating a safe haven of nothing but positive, pro-bromance content. If this blog was ever a safe haven for anybody, I want them to still have it available in its entirety. Even if it should never have been work, I did work hard on this. I don't want that to go to waste.
As for those I follow, there will still be some blogs that I check on from time to time—particularly the ones that my personal friends run—but I likely won't be interacting with the posts. If you know me in real life, you can still contact me through email or my fanfiction account. I'll be there.
But starting today, I'm taking the tumblr app off of my phone. I might come back sometime, but I don't see it happening. No offense or hard feelings to anybody—I'm just done for now.
If I ever made anyone smile, I think this would all be worth it. If I made someone laugh, or think, or cry, or if I inspired them to write something or draw something or create something that had never existed before, I think it would all be worth it. If I can truly say that I was a positive Christian influence in my short time here—that I touched somebody—I think it would be worth it.
After all, life isn't about followers. It's about friends. It isn't about notes. It's about whose lives you touched, whose day you made just a little bit better. And I know that all of you (except for the pornbots) are real people, and I want you to know that, to the best of my ability, I care about every single one of you. I want all of you to live happy lives, and I hope that God makes Himself very, very real to you and fills you with a love that words can't explain and a joy that our hearts can't contain and a hope that our minds can't imagine in our wildest dreams.
I wish all 119 of you well. I wish everyone who has ever crossed my path through this blog well. I hope I could make you smile. It's been fun, and I've met some great people and made some wonderful friends, and I'm glad to have been here.
Thank you to my friends. Thank you to anyone who ever liked or reblogged my art. Thank you to everyone who reblogs the platonic prompts post—it's just over 3,000 notes as I write this, which is about the size of my church, and while that isn't terribly a lot I guess it's still wild to think about.
I especially want to thank the Ninjago community for always being so enthusiastic, warm, and wholesome my whole time on this website, from giving me my first 100 notes on the Dr. Julien headcanon post just a few days into my time here to your staggering and sincere support of Grass Whistle a year later. Never stop being your wonderful selves—it was wonderful to interact with all of you.
Thanks for the memories. I mean that.
Here's a picture of one of my hermit crabs, Clover, on a tiny boat I got in Michigan. Peace out!
Tumblr media
—Sincerely, EA

So since @austennerdita2533 answered here how she ranked the Gilmore seasons along with the revival as well as her top five worst/best episodes I thought I’d rank mine
Seasons rank
5
1
4
3
2
Revival
7
(most cavernous gap in teevee history)
6
The revival is very flawed, of course: thematically it undercuts the entire mission of the series, and many characters do things that make absolutely zero sense. That ending is designed to make almost everyone unhappy. And of course, there are many awkward and flat-out terrible moments. But I think out of the four episodes there is a lot of good to be found in each episode and there’s no one plotline that is excruciating agony to sit through (like the Lorelai/Christopher thread of S7) and no long stretch of the characters hurting each other as much as is humanly possible (aka the long nightmare of S6). I also like that Luke and Lorelai are basically together for the entire length of it and although there are problems between them, they are by no means insurmountable. So it’s somewhere between the first five seasons and the mostly horrible last two.
Worst Five Episodes
(this got wordy, guys, look under the cut)
5. Take These Deviled Eggs. Lorelai’s behavior is so flat-out terrible at that baby shower that I made it one more week (which was the classic They Don’t Shoot Gilmores Do They!) and then quit watching for over a year. I just didn’t like her anymore and the show’s attempts to make her the victim over the Sherry/Christopher situation were making it one thousand times worse. First of all, you don’t fuck someone else’s boyfriend and then go to their baby shower if you have any decency as a human being or enough self-preservation to realize that this woman is full justified in kicking the ever loving crap out of you. If I were Sherry, the first thing I would have done is to punch Lorelai in the face (OK, I would have dumped Christopher right away and then punched both him and Lorelai in the face immediately. But that’s neither here nor there). Sherry tries to connect with Lorelai, to share a moment of how she felt isolated and alone in her pregnancy and thinks Lorelai can understand because she may have felt the same way and Lorelai’s response is to . . . go into her bathroom and DESTROY HER PROPERTY. Then she emotes all over her teenage daughter (who she is setting a terrible example for which will echo long into her daughter’s adulthood) and then both she and Rory go and trash Jess’s car for no reason.
I’m sorry, Lorelai, but you lost. You interfered in someone else’s relationship and you ended up alone as a result. You got what you deserved. Sherry may have been rubbing her pregnancy in Lorelai’s face or she may have been clueless, but you know what? I’m on her side. She was the innocent party in all of this as well as her child, but Lorelai can’t see outside her own narcissism. And of course Rory never does learn that it is wrong to get involved with someone who’s already in a relationship, because Lorelai made it clear that the other person doesn’t matter.
4. I Can’t Get Started. It’s obvious from the previous post that I think the Christopher/Lorelai situation at the end of season 2 is massively wrong and upsetting, but I just want to lay it out for a minute. First of all, it’s fucked-up to take someone else’s boyfriend as your date to a wedding (it could be innocent in context, but it’s definitely leaning towards stuff that could cause trouble). Lorelai knows that Christopher and Sherry have not broken up, that they are still living together by the time she fucks him. She does it anyway, gushes to Sookie afterwards about how cute it is that she’s doing Christopher (never mind the stupid girlfriend you’re screwing over, TEE HEE HEE) and then has a conversation with Christopher about the state of his relationship. This is cheating, plain and simple, and we’re supposed to think this is romantic. IT’S SO MESSED UP.
Lorelai parades Christopher around as her date to Sookie’s wedding. She gushes to EVERYONE SHE KNOWS about their newfound relationship. She lets Rory get excited about it. She lets her PARENTS get excited about it. The entire time she knows that Christopher has not broken up with his girlfriend yet. I actually think this is worse than the sex! Even if it weren’t wrong, it’s A HORRIBLE IDEA. We get proof of this when Lorelai goes to find Christopher before the wedding starts and she tells him she understands if he can’t break up with Sherry. Lorelai knew the whole time that this was going on that Christopher was with another woman, and he could always change his mind and decide to stay with her.
Christopher is primarily responsible for this situation, because he was the one in the relationship and he decided to cheat. However, Lorelai enabled him 100% of the way and placed herself in a situation where she allowed Rory and her parents to get hurt as well as herself. I have zero sympathy for her in all of this. I hate that the show made me watch her acting so cruelly and wanted me to root her on. It still disgusts me that this is one of the show’s highest-rated episodes on IMDB.
I might have forgiven all of this if the show had Lorelai acknowledge that she had made a mistake and had sat Rory down and explained to her that this is why it’s a bad idea to sleep with other people’s boyfriends. As we all know, it didn’t happen that way.
(Oh, and yes, this situation kind of ruins the rest of S2 for me, unfortunately. It’s why it’s at the bottom of my rankings).
3. A Vineyard Valentine. I think everyone knows why this episode is horrible. . Luke is a massively uncharacteristic douche throughout all of it. I think forcing Luke to double-date with Rory’s boyfriends brings out the worst in him because he is so protective of her, but this was absolutely overkill. Worst of all, he makes a promise to Lorelai that he’s committed to their engagement, he breaks it, and he doesn’t even know because Lorelai doesn’t tell him. The whole thing is horrible.
OTOH, I do appreciate the revelation that Logan taught Rory to cook.
2. The Big Stink. You really could plop any one of the early S7 episodes here where we have to endure Christopher “courting” Lorelai, Lorelai isolating herself from the town, and having to endure Rory hang around with her lame friends because Logan isn’t around, but I picked this one because I think it’s the only episode where Lorelai is flat-out nasty about Luke and makes statements to the effect of how much she prefers Christopher to him. It flat out hurts. On top of all of that, Luke is in one scene and since he’s our sole connection to the town at this point in the season, Stars Hollow isn’t, either. We end with that scene of Lorelai, Christopher, and Rory in the car and it’s implied to us that Lorelai’s Stars Hollow life is inferior to her happy new existence with Christopher.
S7 features this kind of plotline a lot, but it also has Luke being an adorable dad to balance it out. We didn’t get any of that here.
1. Partings. Look, I don’t care that ASP wrote this long beautiful monologue for Lorelai. I don’t care that she has admitted that she wrote this travesty of an episode as an attempt to whore for awards attention (this is why she does not deserve “make-up” awards for this show. Not after what she did to get them). it’s false, untrue drama, and it’s unfair. Lorelai gave up after her conversation with Anna about April. She avoided Luke for days and refused to speak to him. He was wandering all over Stars Hollow, worried and concerned about her. Lorelai is confused and vulnerable, and she has the world’s most unprofessional therapy session with a therapist that doesn’t know her or any context to what Lorelai tells her, and is advised to give up on her problems if she doesn’t get what she wants. Lorelai then decides to go in for the kill and decides that the best way to resolve her relationship dilemma is to scream at him in the middle of the street and act like an absolute lunatic demanding that they get married now or else in order for him to prove that he really loves her. When Luke does not go along with this insane plan, Lorelai decides to punish him by sleeping with Christopher. She knew he couldn’t forgive her for that.
ASP said afterwards that all of this was the best course of action for everyone involved so that Lorelai could “do other things” (aka Christopher). It’s bullshit. ASP’s contract negotiations didn’t go her way, and she decided to punish the show for not going along with what she wanted. She also was punishing the shippers for not going along with her narrative and refusing to hate Luke as much as she did.
I bring this up like this because what Lorelai asked for was impossible. Luke could not abandon everything at that moment and elope. It was a horrible idea that would not have solved her problems. Like it or not, Luke had an obligation to consider April’s welfare by this point, and he could not choose Lorelai over his child. The fact that she asked him to and we’re supposed to resent him for saying no is ridiculous. Lorelai of all people should have understood this, but she didn’t. We’re supposed to hate Luke for being a responsible parent who keeps his cool when his fiance is acting like a crazy person. This is BAD WRITING. And it doesn’t work. I refuse to judge him.
You know what would have worked? If Lorelai and Luke had sat down and had a reasonable discussion about how to balance their responsibilities like adults. But ASP had to provoke this situation in order to sell her favorite.
(You may notice a few episodes missing here. I don’t include French Twist because I haven’t seen it. I’ve only seen the Luke/Lane/Zach scenes. I also have not seen Unto The Breach, but I refuse to watch that because it hurts to know that Luke and Lorelai’s make so much progress and then take so many steps backwards and Lorelai is once again interpreting their breakup as Luke not loving her enough to go through with the elopment - their problems were so much more complicated than that! I also hate I Get A Sidekick Out Of You because the entire episode is meant to sell Christopher as this dreamy romantic alternative and we actually have to endure Lorelai taking him on a date to a wedding of someone who is close to Luke but I don’t think it’s fair to include that as one of the worst since I fast-forwarded through most of it).
Best Five Episodes
5. Forgiveness and Stuff. I love this episode so much! We get Luke being the unassuming romantic hero by driving Lorelai to the hospital. There’s emotional Gilmore family bonding that actually doesn’t! The Santa burger! The Blue Baseball Cap Of Love! And lots of bonding and longing looks on the L/L front. I really wish they would have gotten together here. It was the perfect moment for it.
4. Hay Bale Maze. If this episode didn’t exist, I would not have supported Luke and Lorelai getting back together and I would have walked away forever after season six. It’s the episode that ASP never would or could have written, and it was absolutely essential to reconciling me with the show. Those Hay Bale Maze apologies lay the groundwork for everything else that happened in Luke and Lorelai’s future, and it could not have existed without them. In addition to that, I think it’s a really sweet Stars Hollow-centered episode and we see Rory and Logan at their absolute best and it’s clear how well they really worked as a couple.
3. Last Year’s Fights This Year’s Tights. This episode is perfect: lots of townie shenanigans, Luke being a romantic hero and sweeping Lorelai off her feet, and Luke fully reconciling with Jess. That dance around the courtyard: the stuff of dreams, y’all!
2. Written In the Stars. I basically swoon during this entire episode, because Luke is so chvalrous and unexpectedly open and devoted and you can see how utterly smitten and delighted Lorelai is with this new side of him.
1. Raincoats and Recipes. I think this is the pinnacle of the show’s achievement: Lorelai realizes her dream, Luke and Lorelai finally stop dancing around each other and go for it, and Rory falls off her pedastal as Lorelai realizes that guiding her daughter to adulthood is going to be more difficult than she thought. I love that the Christopher/Sherry stuff I went into such detail earlier in this post is at last denounced and Lorelai has to deal with the implications of the example that she set forth and that she doesn’t allow Rory to use it as an excuse.
I think if Lorelai had applied the same attitude towards Rory when learning of similar behavior in the revival Rory could have avoided melting down the way that she did later. Maybe that wasn’t possible after Lorelai had screwed up again, but it’s yet another thing that could have been explained that wasn’t.
(I just want to state after all of this bloviating that I don’t hate Lorelai: she did some really, really fucked up things and not all of the wrong that she did was acknowledged. The plotline of villainizing the “other woman” in a love triangle when she becomes pregnant was actually very popular on TV in 2002 when those earlier episodes aired: however, on this show Lorelai WAS the other woman, and the show tried too hard to make us hate the one truly innocent person in that situation. Obviously, it didn’t work for me).

The 100 ask/tag game!
via: “Hiatus is long. I am bored. Let’s ask each other some questions!” (<– question list at the link)
Tagged by @iishallbelieve <3
1. Which character should teach you how to sword fight? I’m in between Bellamy and Indra because Bellamy is y’know... Bellamy, but I think I’d have to go with Indra just for the tenure. This is what she does.
2. Alie or Diyoza? Diyoza, certainly. ALIE’s not very redeemable whereas Diyoza is my Gen-Z queen.
3. You can watch the next season together with one character, who died in a previous season. Who do you choose? WELLS JAHA. We’d sit together watching S6 and bond over loving Clarke and knowing she deserves more.
4. What would you give your favourite character as a birthday present?
Can I give Clarke the gift of love, support, and peace of mind? Okay, if not that, something artsy fartsy for her to use, but beyond pencils or paper or paint or whatever, something fancy she’s never gotten to use before.
5. Your 5 favourite friendship moments? The first five that come to mind are…
Clarke and Raven hug in 2x05, “Sucks, but I’m dealing with it”
Jonty High Fives (all of them)
Harper comforts Emori in 5x03
Wells and Clarke watching football in the flashbacks
Bellamy and Raven in Season 5, “How many phDs does great grandpappy blake have?”
6. Moments that made you temporarily dislike characters, you usually like? Bellamy’s decision to put the flame in Madi made me temporarily dislike him, as well as Clarke’s decision to stay in Polis in early s3. Also all of Raven’s actions in 5x12.
7. Moments that made you like characters, you usually dislike? Kane’s quest for peace in S3 and being willing to work with the grounders made me like him more, all ALIE scenes were just so iconically acted even though I didn’t like her, I liked watching it.
8. Favourite Skaikru outfit? Clarke in the gray henley from Season 1. You know the one. Also Clarke’s jacket from 4x13/S5.
9. Favourite Grounder outfit? I loved Bellamy in Azgedan gear; also Lexa in the Commander’s big suit thing with the red sash that Octavia also wore for a hot second in Season 4 or 5. Oh, and idk if this is “grounder gear” but the blue jacket with the cross strap Clarke rocks in S2.
10. Grounder, Skaikru, Mountain Men or Wonkru aesthetic? Skaikru.
11. Favourite Trigedasleng quote? Ai gonplei ste oden.
12. A character you’re completely indifferent about? At this point Kane. I liked him in S1 when he was the pseudo-antagonist, but S2 onwards he’s fizzled for me.
13. A character you want to like, but just can’t? Maya! I know she was a fan fave in Season 2 but every time I watch I just can’t connect with her.
14. Resurrect 3 of your favourite characters and kill off 3 of your favourite characters in exchange. Oooh, okay, I’ll resurrect Monty, Harper, and Lincoln and kill... Diyoza, Shaw, and Miller in exchange.
15. Favourite season aesthetic? In between S1 and S2, I love the scenery of S1 the most, but outfit and costuming aesthetic-wise, S2 was so well done from the grounders to the Mountain Men to Skaikru assimilating in with the grounders.
16. Favourite soundtrack moments? You know what I’m gonna say. “Knocking on Heaven’s Door,” It’s a masterpiece. “Kettering” by the Antlers in 1x13 is also great. Plus anything Tree Adams creates.
17. Favourite warpaint? Lincoln with the smears across his face while being taken by the Mountain Men.
18. Which characters would you want to befriend, if you were a character on The 100? I’ve answered this before and I think Monty and I would get along best.
19. Choose a character to get drunk with. Clarke, for sure. She’d drink me under the table but I’d get to see drunk!Clarke.
20. Would you rather live on the dying Ark or in the Bunker? The dying Ark, who the hell would pick the bunker? The Ark was a managed society with rules and no death arenas...
21. Ride a horse or drive the Rover? I’m not a fan of horse riding or driving, but I actually know how to drive so I’d pick the rover.
22. Who is worse, in your opinion: Dante or Cage Wallace? Cage, absolutely. Dante was interesting and compelling (my favorite villain, actually) because of his complexities, which Cage just lacks. Cage is straight-forward evil dude.
23. If your OTP isn’t canon: how do you want their first kiss to happen? This is actually from an ask I answered ages ago, but I’m just gonna copy/paste what I said because I think it still stands: “They’ll be sitting, maybe joking in That Bellarke Way^tm, and the shot will start as a Medium shot, and then the conversation gets slightly deeper than either of them is really comfortable with after all this time. Bellamy will lean in, slowly, testing if it’s okay, to see if she’ll pull back, and she doesn’t. She lets him kiss her, slow and sweet, and she kisses him back; it’s a close-up shot now. This kiss isn’t the intense middle-of-war type of kiss, but a slow, we-both-know-we’re-in-love-but-we-won’t-say-it-out-loud type of kiss because that’s all they can handle in their current states.”
24. Favorite rare pair? Is Princess Mech a rarepair? I love them, especially in Modern AU. Also, Niytavia.
25. Most badass fight scene? Indra and Bellamy in 5x10 is really good, Anya and Clarke in 2x04 is a contender, also Octavia in S4 where she murders those people with the hatchet.

Anyone who think Kit is a good actor is an idiot. And there's so many of them. That's why the world is getting worse and will be dominated by robots 🤖
oddmy dearest @the-bitter-gremlin hopefully you’ll get the tag because I really wanna make sure you see this reply :’DDDDDD
now, point the first: thanks for calling me an idiot! :D I mean, okay, not that grades mean anything of course but given that I went as far as graduating HS in the top five of my class, that I have two degrees one of which with the highest possible vote in a field that’s technically not too easy and that it’s even certified that I speak at least one language at native-tongue level and I can get by in two others other than mine I think my brain is fine enough, thank you.
I also watched more movies than the average person (no, I did, really, I considered studying cinema instead of going to proper uni for real), my top ten favorite movies is all stuff made before the nineties except for one and all my favorite actors are Certified Good Actors Like For Real and I got called a snob for my movie/actor taste more times than I can count. the only reason I’m doing this long-ass preamble is to inform you that if someone can’t act, I can recognize it and I have absolutely no problem admitting it even if it’s someone I like as a person or whose work I enjoy. for one, I can 100% admit that my favorite italian actor when he was nine back then was pretty atrocious (he got better admittedly but I haven’t followed him in a while, so who cares), and I still enjoyed his movies anyway even if he was terrible and I even knew it, but hey, he was hot, so who cares, right? and I enjoyed a fair amount of horribly acted italian fiction because it was fun, so really, I don’t have anything to lose here.
this was all a long preamble to tell you that yes, my favorite actor is marlon brando not the first idiot passing off the street, and yes, kit is actually good at what he does and no, people are not idiots for thinking that.
now, never mind that idek if you saw him in anything that’s not GOT, but the only movie of his I’ve seen where he was really meh was the spy movie and that was because the entire plot sucked ass and the character was terrible but everything was terrible. for the rest, he certainly pulled a better american accent than half of the british actors I’ve heard (it was brimstone by the way, excellent movie, watch it), he can do comedy (watch seven days in hell :D) and ah, yeah, he’s just making a movie/finishing a movie with xavier dolan who’s like… not someone known for picking bad actors. also, uuuh, he went to school for that actually, but not just anywhere -
Tumblr media
ah, wow, HE WENT TO THE SAME SCHOOL WHERE LAURENCE OLIVIER, VANESSA REDGRAVE AND JUDI DENCH WENT but okay, sure, they’d totally take someone talentless according to them? and actually:
In the 2008 Research Assessment Exercise the majority of Central’s submission was judged “world leading” or “internationally excellent”. The school has been ranked highly by The Guardian, placing it sixth in its league table of specialist institutions[9]and ninth for Drama and Dance.
LOOK AT THAT, TOP-NOTCH SCHOOL.
now, what is that british acting schools prepare people for? theater.
which means that he’s a theater actor first and foremost, which shows in his damned acting because if you notice he does half of it with his voice, but I guess you were too busy thinking he’s too good-looking to act, right?
except that not counting theater stuff, GOT was the first job he had *and* his first job on tv, which means that of course he wasn’t as good as the others in the beginning, because a) acting for the theater and for tv aren’t the same, b) it was his first job and not everyone is named leonardo dicaprio and can act their way out of a what’s eating gilbert grape at seventeen.
thing is: while at least one of his co-stars hasn’t improved in the role they have (imo but it’s also the writing) and most of the others GOT actors are either seasoned professionals or had acted for the camera before and had less issues adapting to it, he actually got better, and he actually acted a lot better when he was feeding off other people. case in turn:
youtube
that’s jon and jaime in s1. admittedly, not kit’s best effort unless you interpret it as jon being so lovestruck by jaime being around him that he’s like 404 page not found, and he had one scene with NCW from then until S7, and they didn’t even interact. NCW is miles better than he is here, obviously, but like, NCW has been in the job since the early 90s and I assure you his first danish movie isn’t his best acting effort either even if it’s not bad. BUT, let’s go to another S1 scene:
youtube
jon and sam discuss sex, yey! here he’s with a guy - john bradely - who’s probably (at this point) better than him at reciting on screen, but with whom he’s had a lot more scenes and that is playing his best friend and with whom he presumably hung out a lot and with whom he’s had a lot of time to work with. and even if it’s still S1, if you look at it it’s miles better - he does a lot more of microexpressions, he never looks at the camera (first sign of bad acting btw, he didn’t do it in the previous scene either but there he looked starstruck all the time, here he doesn’t) and like, you can already see that there’s a vast difference in between the two. and it’s the same season, five episodes apart - supposedly they also filmed it later and he’s already more at ease with it.
now, small pause to remind you that at this point jon doesn’t have too much extra baggage BUT that kit actually read the damned book and you can see it because he makes very precise choices ie in the book after jon burns his hand he flexes the fingers of the hurt one every time he’s nervous or he’s about to lie or something, and he does the exact same thing (link here btw), and fyi, with the exception of partially alfie and gwen, no one in the cast actually went as far as that so HAHAHAHAHA WOW SUCH BAD ACTING, INNIT? anyway, that was season one. I’ll spare you and myself S2/¾ also because if I link you the jon/ygritte scenes I’ll shoot myself in the head. instead, let’s go to season five and 5x02, as in the season where I literally would have quit the fucking show if it wasn’t for jon’s storyline.
youtube
if you look at this, he doesn’t even say a fucking word until the ending, and you can see exactly what he’s thinking just looking at his damned face, because if you pay even the slightest bit of attention you notice that he changes expression minutely with every damned word sam and thorne say, you can see his eye movements, then he goes from complete sour to sad to angry to surprised to delighted to worried to happy again in the span of four minutes without even talking once and it’s miles better than anything he did in S1.
or you could also rewatch the scene where he punches ramsay in S6 where he does a lot of microexpressions that speak for him without even talking, again, in an episode where he did all the stunts on his own same as the rest of the show, and that’s really not little given all the work it goes into being, uh, the main character, who also happens to have to be a seasoned fighter and use swords and so on. (I can’t link but I think I exhausted my limit for linking videos on tumblr so whatever *SHRUG*)
guess what: HE IMPROVED. GREATLY. IT SHOWS. learn to watch the damned thing, it doesn’t take going beyond GOT to realize it. and now, two last things I have to say to you before I finish this because I honestly wasted too much time on you already.
one: he might not be the best actor around - fair enough -, but kit’s definitely good imo. not passable, not decent, not average - he’s good. and he’s learning and he’s improved tremendously in the last eight years and it shows, and he put enough effort into this role to a) read the canon, b) incorporate the canon into it, c) actually changing scenes so that they fit canon more, d) do all his own stunts, e) carry 60% of this whole damned liver-destroying show on his shoulders since at least S5 in which his sl was the only saving grace of the entire thing and he executed it perfectly, so kindly fuck off and don’t go to people calling them idiots because they think an actor is good.
(ps: I
two: going into people’s askboxes and calling them idiots because they enjoy something and insulting what they enjoy is a) rude, b) uncalled for, c) an asshole move.
next time let me/us/whoever enjoy this guys’ acting in peace and keep your fucking opinion to yourself, because honest, if I could spend twenty years out of almost thirty of my life keeping my mouth shout about how much I hate HP to a) my rl friends, b) my internet friends and I could keep myself from informing them that I think it’s really bad under their posts or in their inbox or to their face because I’d be an asshole if I decided to shit on what they like, then you can pay me the same favor (or about anyone else) and not go around dissing stuff people like to their faces when they said openly they like them.
sayonara and call me when you get an emmy nomination :’)
