Tee, your tags on the Yev post are so correct! I absolutely think Mickey would have had a bigger storyline with Yev (and Svetlana) if he'd been in s6, alongside him and Ian being awkward exes who get back together eventually. Was setting up a storyline for the next season where Mickey builds a relationship with Yevgeny. Like to me, this looks like as much as he is struggling, he does love his son (and this is the first time he’s realizing that).

I made a post about this before and @atthedugouts mentioned in the tags that so much of Shameless is about whether a child will repeat the sins of their parents or make different choices and break the cycle, and there was sooooo much to explore about that with Mickey & Yevgeny.

Which would’ve been such an interesting storyline. Not that Mickey would ever be as bad as Terry, but I think it’s something he’d struggle with within himself. I could actually talk about Mickey in season 6 & 7 for hours lol, I have soooo many ideas. And Mickey & Yevgeny is my favourite unexplored storyline.

I’ve said before I think it would’ve ultimately changed Gallavich’s dynamic a bit, not at the beginning, but eventually (things change when you become a parent, your kid needs to come before your partner sometimes, and Mickey for the last few years had put Ian first for everything) and that’s something I think they’d need to work out while they’re in the midst of the re getting to know each other/ getting back together stage.

But even outside of his relationship w Ian, in general it would have been so fascinating to see how Mickey grapples with trying not to be like his dad while loving Yevgeny but also struggling with how he was conceived and how traumatizing it was for him.

I think maybe he’d overcompensate a bit - be soo hard on himself if Yev ever simply fell over and hurt himself a bit while Mickey was watching him. Or if Mickey was ever struggling not to lose it while Yev’s crying (because it would be so overstimulating for him). Even though it wouldn’t be his fault I think he’d still struggle and blame himself and fall back into the “oh god I can’t do this I’m just like my dad” sometimes.

And he’d then try so hard to be better and be there as much as he can almost to a fault. And you’re so right it would’ve been such an opportunity for him to heal and to break the cycle. I think it also would’ve put his own childhood into perspective - he wants to protect Yev from anyone that would hurt him, so it’s so jarring for him to realize how much he was hurt and allowed to be hurt when he was a kid.

I’m also in general not a huge fan of the throuple storyline. So I would’ve LOVED to have seen Mickey & Svet be a coparenting/accidental bestie duo throughout the season (it wouldn’t have been like that straight away but eventually) and all the hijinks they could get up to - scams, funny stuff with Yevgeny, maybe going out to find real jobs together, if Mandy called Mickey about the dead guy and he brought Svetlana along (I need post murder sibling bonding pls). Just in general being a little unconventional family, because we know family is super important to Svet.

Also at this point most of Mickey’s family is gone and Ian’s broken up with him. Svet & Yev would be all he has left. It makes sense that he’d end up relying on & cling to them. (This is another reason why I think Gallavich would be different when getting back together after being apart for the better part of a year, both of their priorities would have shifted a bit).

Dreams can be seen as a type of death, and waking up from it a type of rebirth. So in a sense, this cycle of constant, deaths and rebirth keeps happening. Who has been constantly waking and sleeping? In this cycle? Of course it is MC (with their visions) and Silver (with his dreams), and again the connection is there given how Lilia mentions they have such similar states as well.

@chernabogs mentioned how media love to depict souls seperated from the body, so maybe MC body is somewhere else but their soul is in twisted wonderland, but what am I trying to say? Maybe Silver was able to see MC through a mirror or a dream before they isekaied. Or if we go back to timeloop theory, maybe Silver saw them use the sword then through MC visions.

So you’re probably wondering where does Malleus come into the equation? Because we already see the connection with Silver and MC.

As you can see, Meleanor is weaker than Malleus, who is much younger than her. So I can’t help but wonder if that was done on purpose?

I’m already suspicious about Maleficia and her lack of action in the past, but also right now when it comes to stopping her grandson.

What if, she and Crowley (maybe one of them have divination powers as mentioned in the linked posts) had this all planned. I also found it weird how Lilia was suddenly made to leave the school and hence being one of the reasons for Malleus to OB. When this dragon fae hasn’t OB his entire life given how he grew in isolation and people feared him and how that obviously made him feel lonely and ripe for an OB.

What if this was all planned so Malleus would be stronger? And they need him for that very reason, to be strong so they can use him? Or maybe they need that stone from him specifically, maybe something about a stone from him would be special. Maybe as strong as the stone Meleanor had?

Maleficia won’t stop Malleus but that’s why the stage was set for others to stop him, namely because no one would be able to stop Maleficia is she OB but someone could stop Malleus.

Another thought was that, Malleus is the poster boy. What if they made him this strong for a reason? What if their aim was to make Meleanor’s blessing true??

Make Malleus into someone who would be a great benefit to the fae but someone whom the humans would fear (chernabog??)

Facts about Felix The Cat

Felix wanted to adopt Bendy and Felix, but he found out from Oswald that Mickey wanted to adopt them, and they are currently talking about adopting and sharing custody of Bendy and Boris.

When he first met Oswald he thought he was a weirdo and jerk, but after trying to build a relationship with him and getting to know him better he's been wanting to ask Oswald to go on a date.

Felix hangs out with Sheba every Friday night after she closes the book story. Sometimes, they get drinks and talk about their week or their personal life.

He doesn't tend to make many friends, but he's really socialable when he's with his close friends.

He is currently learning about all the kinds of runes that are in the world.

He lived outside of Inkwell Isle’s before he became an adult. He lived on an island with few people. His people know the language: Latin, and when he left the island to go look for the runes, he had to learn English from people be didn't know.

Mark is willing to do anything for Mickey. He makes sure Mickey can feel special anytime he has time to be with Mickey when he's not busy with work.

He was confused about his Sexuality when he was a teenager, but after meeting his now ex, he's only into guys.

He is a great acrobatics and knows how to move around in small areas, tight places, etc.

Mark has a has a very high spice tolerance. He's challenged Cuphead several times to eat spicy food, and Mark has managed to come out on top when they eat spicy food.

He acts smug to Cuphead and Mickey, Cuphead because he likes to taunt/tease him, and Mickey, since he loves him and loves to tease him, he sometimes teases just to get a cute little reaction.

He has a connection with magic, and he's been trying to show Mickey all the kinds of magic he could do, and Mickey has been trying to incorporate magic into his Circus.

Shameless DVD Commentary: Roleplaying

Summary: Ian and Mickey attempt to have some roleplay fun.

Stats: I started this towards the end of 2021. It’s a WIP - 11 chapters so far. Word count: 7,743.

What was the initial inspiration for your story? I had some dialogue in my drafts that I didn’t know what to do with. I knew I wasn’t going to make it into a full story but I wanted to post it anyway. I think it must have been inspired initially by the Jonas Brothers/Prison porn scene in S11 but I can’t quite remember. Overall, my ongoing inspiration for this is that I like the idea they have total freedom now they’re married and living in their own place. They can have as much playful, silly, kinky sex as they want. And I think as much as they do have lots of soft sex and kinky sex and ‘serious’ sex, I think they absolutely have a lot of playful/silly sex too because they love having fun together and they love making each other laugh.

What was your favourite scene to write? I love writing all of it, it’s a really fun story to write. I think the fact it’s just dialogue means there’s less pressure.

How did you come up with the title? I struggle with titles so I usually go with something that describes the plot and so Roleplaying is that. I was going to just call it Roleplay but I went with Roleplaying because it implies it’s an ongoing thing they do.

Are there any little moments or references you hope readers will notice? The puns.

Was there anything you struggled to write? If so, how did you overcome this? I do struggle with the endings a bit sometimes. Trying to find a good line to end on can be tricky.

Favourite line in the story?

From chapter 1 - Hooker: “What? You’re Chicago’s most expensive prostitute who fucks 11 guys a night who all have to have big dicks and you let them go bareback? This is getting less and less realistic.”

From chapter 4 - Royalty: “Please. I could be wearing a fuckin’ garbage bag and you’d be poppin’ a woody.”

From chapter 10 - XXXmas: “Alright, that’s enough talk. Come on, Santa, you gonna jingle my bells or what?”

Did the storyline change in any way as you wrote the story? No. Only because it’s not much of a storyline 😅 it’s just them doing different roleplay scenarios. The chapters all take place in the same ‘verse.

If you are writing a particular trope or genre, was it your first time writing this? Sort of the first time posting a story that was just dialogue and I’ve found it to be so fun and a lot more freeing than writing a traditional story.

What are you most proud about in the story? (plot, characterisation, dialogue, twist/cliffhanger, etc) The dialogue - I hope their voices sound true to the characters and how they might talk. I think it does but it’s always hard to tell.

Are there any deleted scenes that didn’t make it to the final story? I do cut lines quite a lot. I can’t remember exactly what I’ve cut or from what chapters but sometimes lines don’t work and don’t make sense in their conversations.

Are there any ‘behind the scenes’ info you’d like to share - e.g. what’s going on in a characters head in a certain scene or how you came to write a certain line? Ian has an ongoing draft on his phone that is just roleplay ideas - and he’ll sometimes write down things he wants to say or do as his ‘character’. Mickey sometimes writes in it too but it’s usually just to make fun of Ian’s ideas (even though he actually likes a lot of them). Both of them will pretty much find any excuse to turn something - a job or a character or setting - into a roleplay idea. I reference it in tête-à-tête where they discuss a gas station roleplay (I might write that….👀) So far, Mickey’s favourite roleplay was Bartending (because he got cocktails as well as cock 😅) and Ian’s favourite roleplay was Professor Milkovich (because Mickey wore glasses and panties and then gave him a grade afterwards 😅)

Reading back the story now, is there anything you’d change or add? Most of it I’m happy with but I feel like the first chapter is a bit rougher than the rest. It doesn’t feel like a whole, continuous conversation like the rest of the chapters. I wasn’t really sure what I wanted to do with this when I posted it and I feel like that can be seen in the first chapter.

Would you ever write a sequel to this story? I think tête-à-tête is sort of an unofficial sequel…maybe more like a companion fic.

If you’ve chosen your most popular story, are you surprised by the popularity? Once I posted the first chapter and had such a good response, I wasn’t surprised it became my most popular story. I think it combines too of my strengths - dialogue and humour. I’m glad it makes people laugh.

Were you nervous or excited to post this story? A bit nervous because I wasn’t sure if people would be interested in a dialogue only fic. I really cannot write smut so that is the reason this is only dialogue. I would love to have written the actual smut but I know I can’t and I think good dialogue with bad smut would ruin it 😅

Did you have a beta or a friend who helped you as you wrote? No. I don’t use a beta.

A/N: This wasn't requested, but I really wanted to get these down, partly because it'll make them easier to write in the future!! Anybody is welcome to take inspiration from these, and my requests are always open!! I've been wanting more of them lately, so please don't be shy!

This can be interpreted as platonic or romantic for Leonard or Mickey, but I wrote Danny's as platonic

💙 Loathsome Leonard 🎋

~💙 Leonard is extremely mad that he cares so much for a human, and lies to the both of you when he says and acts like it's your fault and that he's angry at you. In reality, he's angry at himself for perceived weakness, and will gradually accept it over time.

~🎋 He has little to no patience for disobedience, perceived or not, even during the adjustment period. The other Mud Dogs (Usually Mickey) will often have to step in to talk sense into Leonard when he's being irrational, too strict, or overly mean.

~💙 Over time, he does loosen up the slightest bit if you're good, but only a little bit. His lifestyle requires him to be constantly on his guard, and you'll go back to being kept under lock and key if you mess up.

~🎋 Leonard is immaturely serious, and will get pissed if you don't take him seriously. Despite this, he can have playful moments with you, even if they are far and in between.

~💙 He's at his angriest if you escape or try to escape, because even though he can be callous and rough towards you, he worries like crazy if you're out in the Hidden City, though he'll never show it. He'll scold you for literal hours when he catches you, because the Hidden City is extremely dangerous, especially for a human. He doesn't know what he'd do if Big Mama ever set her eyes on you.

~🎋 He treats you like a mother animal would treat her young in the physical sense, sometimes, as he'll hold you up by the scruff of your neck, carry you places out of nowhere, etc.

~💙 Punishments would be on a more physical sense, but nothing too rough, because he's actually terrified of you getting too hurt, not that he'll ever let you know. The most he'll do to you is rough you up a little, but if anyone else lays a hand on you, he'll make them pay. If it was one of his teammates, he'll let them off a lot easier than if it was anyone else, his revenge methods ranging from petty to slightly violent depending on wether it was an accident or not and how much you were hurt. If you were to get hurt by a Yokāi in the Hidden City, however, it doesn't matter if you only got an accidental scratch, he will get violent with them.

💜 Dastardly Danny 🐁

~💜 Danny is type to coddle without end, especially because you're a human. He sees humans as a weaker species, and thus sees you as someone who needs to be protected and taken care of.

~🐁 He barely lets you do anything by yourself, and usually insists he help you, or sends/drags you away for him or one of his comrades to do it themselves.

~💜 He can be extremely condecending with the way he acts and talks to you, and though it's never from a place of malice, it can be extremely upsetting.

~🐁 Danny can sometimes treat you like a doll or a little child with the way that he babies you, often insisting that he pick out your clothes, do your hair, spoon-feed you, etc. It can be extremely humiliating.

~💜 Danny might be the most worried out of the entire cast when you escape, as he knows firsthand how rough and dangerous the Hidden City is, and he's also heard some horrendous stories and rumors about the topside, even if you're from there. He'll go into a frenzy, searching for you non-stop, no matter what he was doing before. When he eventually gets you back, he'll make sure you'll never be able to escape again. He'll steal magic doorlocks and put them in the hideout, always make sure that he or one of his teammates has an eye on you when they're home, etc.

~🐁 He'd never, ever hurt you intentionally, so his punishments are akin to the type that one would give to a child. For example, his response to an escape attempt would be sending you to your room or putting you in time-out.

~💜 He coddles you like a grandmother, such as making your clothes for you, and cooking all your food for you.

~ 🐁If you have trouble sleeping, he'll break into Mickey's stash of sleeping pills and give them to you in a warm drink, not that you know.

~💜 If you try to hide from him inside of the hideout, he'll find you very quickly with his heightened sense of smell, as lots of rats have.

~🐁 He gets very sad when you fight him, but he'll never show it unless his feelings are really hurt.

~💜 He gets mad at Leonard and Mickey if they're mean to you, do something weird to you, etc.

~🐁 He won't let you in the kitchen unless he sets you down on the counter so he can keep an eye on you while he cooks, because he's worried you might hurt yourself with sharp objects, the stove, etc.

~💜 If you do ever have to go out, (hideout change, the gang has to go do a heist really far away, etc.) he'll find someway to steal a cloaking brooch, will bundle you up in a lot of clothes, and will keep you out of sight when he can with cars, hotel rooms, etc.

🧡 Malicious Mickey 🩵

~🧡 Mickey is the delusional type, convinving himself that you're happy to be locked in whatever hideout the gang is squatting in.

~🩵 Your complaints will go in one ear and out of the other, and he'll act as though you didn't even say anything, then drag you off to play video games with him or watch a movie.

~🧡 He clings onto you at every possible moment, he'll even wait outside the door when you're taking a bath or shower, so escaping him when he's home is basically impossible.

~🩵 Oftentimes, he'll entertain himself by playing dress-up with you, wether you're willing or not. He has no fashion sense at all, not that Mickey knows that, so most of the time, you're stuck in the worst outfit you've ever seen for the rest of your day when the he gets the urge. They progressively get uglier with each time he dresses you up.

~🧡 He forces you to share his bed with him (platonic or romantic) and he'll cling to you so tight, it's hard to sleep. Often in the morning, you're half-asleep at breakfast.

~🩵 If he wants to cuddle you, but you're refusing, he'll temporarily paralyze your legs so you can't get up and run away from him. This applies to when you don't want to sleep in his bed, either.

~🧡 Escaping him would be relatively easy, if he's on a mission and his fellow Mud Dogs hadn't installed any locks on the windows. When he finds out you're gone and eventually gets you back, he'll think it was because you were bored or you went out to find him, or both. He'll steal even more stuff for you to entertain yourself with when he's gone, and tell you purposfully frightening stories of the Hidden City and stuff Yokāi have done to humans in an attempt to scare you off from going outside. He also tells you that you don't have to worry about him, because he's a "very important" criminal that can protect himself, or so he says.

Summary: Mick Schumacher rode a lousy wave for quite some time, so when the sky gets cleaner and the sun brighter he just knows something terrible may be in store for him. Whereas y/n was just so magnetic, and the possibilities of life with her seemed better than anything his mind could ever create, that's why, for the first time in forever, he throws cautious carelessly through the window, hoping to get to the finish line before it catches up on him.

Mick considered himself a shy person, and for some reason, he thought the fact he spoke less and heard more helped him read all rooms better. He was, in fact, quite right, but he also was very aware that his attentiveness would triple when it came to Y/n. She would walk inside the room, and his ears would perk up, his eyes searching for her, scanning her body, making sure she looked safe and happy. He did it every day Y/n would show up during training and races. She was still good at her job of not being seen that much, but Mick Schumacher was better at finding what he was looking for.

And he’s been looking for Y/n since the very first day. 

That is why when she walked in that morning wearing baggy jeans, a sweatshirt, and a pair of sneakers instead of the usual heels she was testing for her collection, he knew the leaking of her presence and even more, her identity, had affected Y/n more than people would think.

Y/n waved his way and made small talk with those who came to her though she was quick to go to the motor home to work on her own assignments. 

“It’s ok if we make a quick pause?” Mick asked one of the engineers who was talking nonstop to him about an improvement and some tactics. He could hear everything perfectly. However, his mind was unfocused. “To stretch and get some coffee, you know,” he clarified, and the girl nodded. She was probably looking for the possibility of caffeine. 

Schumacher got up and made his way to the room inside the motor home he knew Y/n always used, and undoubtedly there she was, curled up on the sofa instead of the spacious work table. Laptop perched on her legs, eyes scanning its screen until she heard the door open. 

“Hey, Mouse,” she greeted. Y/n has been calling him “mouse” after the first week when it was clear they would become, at least, close friends. She joked about his name, saying that it reminded her of Mickey, the famous mouse from Disney, and Mick, used to that, but finding it funnier for the first time, could only chuckle along and let her proceed to give him a nickname. He was Mick or Schumacher or even Schumi to some in the paddock, but he was Mouse to Y/n, which gave him a sense of intimacy. It felt like he was unique to her like they shared something that no one else did. Rationally, he knew it was probably nothing, she was this open and affectionate with most people, but he decided not to dwell too much on it. “You’re looking for Lewis? I saw him with George.”

“I was looking for you,” he stated before closing the door behind him. 

“Oh?” 

“You seemed sad. I was worried,” two simple sentences were enough for Y/n to close the lid of the laptop and sigh. There was something so touching about the fact that someone took the time of the day to look at you and look for you, really look, not just pass eyes and greet, but make sure you seemed happy and safe. 

“I- you don’t have to worry. I just did not sleep very well tonight… I don’t wanna keep you from your work,” the way her eyes stared at anything but his own was the evidence he needed to know that she was probably brushing it off and lying. 

“I’m on my pause. And you can talk to me, you know that, right?” when her big eyes finally found him Mick took a step towards the couch. “Do you wanna talk about it? Want me to stay in your company?”

“I-” she started but did not finish her sentence, eyes glued to the ground again. 

“I’m your friend, am I not? You won’t bother me, just tell me what you need me to do, and I will do it. If you want me to leave, I can leave,” he voiced, and when one of his feet moved away from the couch, Y/n hand gripped his hand in a beat. The first thing Mick noticed was how cold they felt against his skin. How small they were in comparison, and then how good. 

Her hold on him felt good. 

They shared eye contact for a while before she offered “stay.” 

And so when he sat beside her, without letting go of her hand, thighs, and part of their bodies touching, it only felt natural the way his arms encircled her shoulders, bringing her impossibly closer. 

“Is that okay?” he tried to sound casual, but his voice was just above a whisper. Y/n’s perfume was richer this close, some of her curls tickling his cheeks and neck in a soft caress. Her body accommodated his perfectly, he thought. 

“This is perfect,” she, too, whispered. “Add a chocolate bar or a pit of ice cream, and I would be 50% better,” it was a joke, her tone a bit lighter, and that’s why Y/n stilled when Mick moved a bit to reach something in his pants pocket. 

“Not a chocolate bar, but close enough, I guess?” Mick dipped his head to look at Y/n, forgetting how close they already were. There was a beat before she looked down at his hands, a small smile on her plush lips. He could see clearly the undertones and how they had a darker color around the edges, whereas the center of her lips seemed a bit lighter. Mick wanted to trace it with his fingers. 

“You have a sweet tooth too??” 

Mick grinned, shaking his head, “Not really, but I like to have something sweet with me in case someone needs it, and also, I ran out of my regular granola bars,” it’s his explanation. 

She stares at the plastic paper for a second, he can see how her brows knitted, and for some  reason, he feels like clarifying, “It’s vegan if that’s what you’re thinking about.” 

“Is it?” the smile she gave him almost pushes his body back on the couch. It was bright and big and so so so beautiful.

“Yup, they are usually the healthiest opinion or at least the easiest to know what’s inside.” 

“Good for me,” she grins. 

“It’s a family thing, then?” he asks in a lighter tone, and Y/n adjust her body, pushing her legs up to the sofa, which makes them impossibly closer. 

Y/n opens the bar and pushes it closer to his lips. And, albeit Mick was not feeling hungry or wishing for something sweet, quite the contrary. He felt satisfied. His body would not let his mind reject food from her hands. Her figure was close, her fingers impossibly closer. So he wrapped his lips around the bar, taking a small bite. It was worth it because her lips tipped up in a small grin before directing the piece of food to her own mouth. Eating was not something attractive to Mick Schumacher until now. Until he experienced her cheeks puffing, the tip of her tongue coming in contact with her lips to gather the chocolate syrup that dripped a bit, and her neck working to swallow a bite. “Nah, it’s only me and Lewis,” she answered. 

“Huh?” Mick asked after noticing he spaced out.

“It’s not a family thing. Only me and Lew are vegan. Dad loves to host barbecues, by the way,” she silenced to take another bite and then offered to Mick again. “You know, the bad part about the constant travel is that sometimes it’s hard for me to find proper vegan places where I get exactly what I’m craving. Not everyone can do vegan food. I consider it an art,” she rambles. 

“We can explore them together…” he suggests, and her eyes find his face. It flushes a bit. “I usually know the city or have friends that can suggest locations. You would not be alone, get to eat your vegan arts, and I would get to eat good food,” and have your company, he almost added, because that was his interest. 

Mick was a smart guy. He knew what attraction felt like, and although he never felt it quite the way he was feeling, he was starting to piece the fact that he cared about Y/n a bit more than the friendship lines would let him. 

“Are you for real?” 

“Yeah, of course.” 

“Then I’m in,” there’s a small smile on her lips that turns into a ghost when she adds, “I’m sorry for earlier, for giving you a cold shoulder, when you tried to check on me. It’s just so stressful how half of the internet is saying that I am my brother’s girlfriend, and the other half is digging shit up, ugh.” 

Mick thought for a second, waited to see if she wanted to add something, and then spoke, “Maybe now that the cat is out of the bag, the best option is, to tell the truth, and ask people to give your privacy back or stop overstepping, you know? Sometimes this is all it takes, some people are going to start stuff either way, but when you are vocal about your space and how you feel about it, chances are high that at least a good part of the fans will try to respect it. Speaking for personal experience.” 

Y/n sighs before dropping her head into his shoulders, one of her hands finding its way into the Mercedes logo on his shirt and tracing to distract her screaming mind. 

“You’re right. I will try to do just that. Maybe it’s a good thing, after all, no more contracts about people saying who I am or if they saw me here or not. I will be able to walk around and talk with some of the guys I’m already friends with,” she states. 

They stayed together, intertwined like that, for some more minutes before Mick had to leave and Y/n had to get back to her e-mails.

The next day Y/n woke up late but decided to let Lewis know she was going a bit later than usual just so her brother wouldn’t be worried. If it were up to him, they would arrive and leave together, he could always get her home, but most of the time, Lewis liked to get there early or had something to do before getting on the paddock. Y/n loved every minute of her sleep, so she chose to go on her own and, sometimes, leave with him. This morning, however, Y/n got a message from Mick asking if she was showing up, and after telling him she was probably a tad late but would be there, he suggested a ride on his bike. And it’s not that she was afraid of bikes, but she was always unsure, it seemed dangerous, kudos her brother's work was dangerous as well, but it was different, or so she thought it was, but when the bold asked if she trusted him, Y/n could only be honest and say yes. 

That’s how she found herself staring at an absolutely breathtaking Mick wearing his helmet and offering her one. 

“Are you sure it’s safe?” Y/n voices her concerns one more time, her eyes scanning the big bike with uncertainty. 

“Absolutely, I won’t let anything happen to you, c'mon,” he was so sure, and she could almost see the smile on his eyes, his lips covered by the helmet. 

Y/n took some seconds trying to gather her thoughts. She would have to sit there and attach herself to Mick. Hold his waist. Trust his guidance. Let him fly through traffic. 

“Y/n?” Mick asked, staring at her. 

She nodded, and he brought her close by her hand, pushing some of her hair back before securing the helmet on her head. 

“Comfy?” his eyes goes over her to make sure she was safe, and she could only nod again. She wanted to hug him like the other day, to feel his hands on her arms and his solid chest on her head. “Now, come on, or we will get late.” 

Mick helped Y/n climb the bike and secure his backpack on her shoulders, the one she insisted on taking, which she started to rethink after noticing how much closer they would be without the thing between their bodies. She secured her arms around his abdomen, and he covered her hands with one of his after taking off.

He guided the motorcycle with one hand for what felt like a minute or so, but she did not feel unsafe or scared. Quite the opposite, his hold on her and his warmth only made her feel safer. 

“There’s something on my backpack for you. Remind me to grab it when we get there, will you?” His voice was low under the gush of wind and car noises, but she confirmed and made herself more comfortable. Life was passing in a blur around them, and she enjoyed the feeling of watching everything at that speed with him so close. 

Once Mick and Y/n finally arrived at the Paddock, they ran to the motorhome. A chuckle escaped their lips when both entered the meeting room Y/n used to work whenever she was around. 

“I had no idea which one you would like, so I got two,” Mick opened his backpack, diving for a medium-sized lid and passing it to Y/n. 

“Is that food?” she asked, a big grin on her lips. 

The blonde just watched as she opened it to find two vegan cookies staring back at her. They seemed intact after the ride, thank goodness. 

“Oh God, Mouse, this was so thoughtful!” Y/n left the sugary treats at the table before throwing herself in his arms. She couldn’t help herself. 

Schumacher’s hands were fast to find their place on her back and waist, bringing their bodies closer and sharing more warmth. She got on her tiptoes and distanced her face a bit to let a kiss on his cheek, but somehow her plump lips ended up on his jaw, and Mick almost sighed, asking for one more. Just one more chaste kiss. One more touch of her soft lips. 

Friends did that too, right? 

Friends could be affectionate around each other.

He was not crossing any lines, he thought. But deep down, he knew that his mind and heart raced through any lines before his body could. 

He was down deep, but nothing ever felt this good.

What’s a headcanon you can’t stop thinking about? i have a very specific headcanon for a tattoo ian gets post-canon for mickey, and i hesitate to even explain it now bc i think one day i do wanna write a fic about him getting it, but whatever--my headcanon is that he gets an M tattooed on his left ring finger and it's a subtle yet sweet nod to his husband. OBSESSED with the headcanon of terry being the first homophobic trans ally. i know it doesnt make sense but thats WHY i love it....plus, based off what we know about mandys experience living with terry, i really dont like to think about mickey also being treated that way 😕 so trans ally terry it is! doesnt help him transition or anything, just rolls his eyes and tells him that if hes gonna be a man then he better act like one

I only watched Shamless last year and I never seen any of the hall of shame episodes because everyone said they were terrible so I’ve only seen some of the gallavich clips. but I saw you talk about the 85% love thing which is an insane ooc thing they made ian say but I never see people talk about the thing mickey said about his bipolar? I was shocked it was such an asshole ooc move I can’t believe the writers thought it was ok?

Yea it was very fucked up by Mickey, hall of shame was the worst.

I don’t think it’s that ooc for either of them to lash out at each other when they’re hurt, but to sink that low was really fucked up, and yea very ooc given what they’ve been through. Seeing Mickey try to hit someone where it hurts when he feels cornered/hurt isn’t uncommon (eg: how he spoke to Svetlana at the baptism) but for him to actually make a comment like that to Ian about his bipolar after everything was imo really ooc for Mickey. And just a fucked up thing to say.

Going on a bit of a tangent here but I think one of the worst parts about Hall of Shame is that the writers were so close to getting it right, but they kept fucking it up so badly.

For example, the 87% comment was mean and unfair but not just for Mickey, for Ian also. Because the flashbacks implied Ian wasn’t talking about family & friends etc, he was talking about past “relationships.” Which Caleb and Trevor I can understand to an extent, but to include Kash and Ned and other men that took advantage of him in that “13%” is fucked up by the writers and imo does Ian a massive disservice. It’s like they’re treating these men like ex boyfriends, and not predators who groomed and took advantage of a teenager. It’s like they refuse to acknowledge that Ian was groomed.

And this ep/ Ned’s death, instead of being a way to make Gallavich fight over stupid shit, could’ve been a chance for Ian to actually realize that & come to terms with it. Mickey could’ve brought up how fucked it was too. They could’ve actually talked about and dealt with something real.

Even Mickey’s comment to Ian about leaving being his whole MO had validity based on their past tbh. It’s been talked about a lot recently how Mickey has abandonment issues with Ian because of everything that went down between them, and that could’ve been an opportunity for them to discuss that. Like actually discuss a massive element of their past that’s caused Mickey’s biggest insecurity in their relationship. Not visiting him in prison stuff, Mexico, etc.

But instead the writers made them lash out and say stupid shit to each other and make Mickey make that gross ableist comment.

Half the time in the later seasons it felt like the writers were just choosing things for them to say/do based on the idea like “what would someone say here” but not “what would Ian/Mickey say here.” If that makes sense. It’s like they barely knew the characters so they just wrote their own version of them? Idk

I’m sure there’s other stuff from the ep that could’ve been an opportunity to actually deal with stuff had it been handled differently, but I haven’t watched it in a long time so can’t remember.

I think s11 was flawed but there were things I liked, but hall of shame really was a mess. Only thing that was good were the kisses at the end lol.

Thoughts and critiques

So on my initial watch I actually kinda enjoyed it. Now HEAR ME OUT I CAN EXPLAIN-

I kind of enjoyed the songs (mostly because I didn’t really listen to the lyrics) and the movie and characters weren’t even that bad.

But after I thought about it some more and watched the behind the scenes videos I realized a couple things:

WE WERE ROBBED A STAR BOY LOVE INTEREST?!?

There are a couple things that weren’t even explained

Is Asha canonically the OG fairy godmother?

I still don’t know why Magnifico wanted the wishes all to himself

WE WERE ROBBED OF A VILLAIN COUPLE!!

My biggest gripe with the movie is how much potential it had, but it just fell short.

For this movie being Disneys big 100th anniversary project, it feels half baked. It felt unfinished, like I was watched the rough draft; the version that they show to a test audience to see what they needed to change and fix.

The people that worked on it kept saying that it was supposed to reflect the OG Disney that people know and love. If I’m being honest, they kind of missed the mark on it. As a movie in general it wasn’t terrible, but there were some things that were just missing.

Magnifico

Magnifico as a “classic Disney Villain” just didn’t make sense to me. He really has no clear reason for keeping the wishes all to himself. I know most of the classic villains were just kinda evil to be evil, but there was still a reason for them to be evil. (For example Malificent was salty about not being invited to the ball [kinda extra but whatever] the Evil queen wanted to be the fairest of them all,the witch doctor from Princes and the Frog wanted money,etc etc, you get the idea). The one thing they did though was making him and unredeemable villain. Bro was rotten to the core and had me hating him by the end of the movie, no matter how fine he is(one of the most handsome villains lemme just SAY)

And don’t even get me STARTED on his villain song. It felt too much like a lead up to his actual villain song. If there was a reprise or something like that later in the movie I could have accepted that. Theo whole thing just felt too upbeat and almost childish to me. They were cooking a little bit in the middle but they lost it again.

Star

I SIMPLY WILL NOT LET GO OF THE FACT THAT WE AS A COMMUNITY WERE ROBBED!! There was so much potential for this Peter Pan type character and possible love interest?? And it’s not even because I’m a romance buff, but most female leads in Disney classics have a love interest, and if I’m to believe that this is reminiscent of said classics, we need a love interest. (Also can we just collectively agree that Star Boy would be added the Tubler sexy man list with expediency? Yes? Ok.)

The Queen

I don’t have much to nitpick about the queen but WE COULD HAVE HAD A VILLIN DUO! There was so much potential for some BANGER villain duets. And sure the classics didn’t really have villain couples per se, but they had plenty of villain groups, so it still would have made sense.

The references

I expected a lot more references and Easter eggs from other Disney movies, but I was struggling. I was looking the whole time and all I found were some hidden Mickey’s and a few throw aways lines alluding to characters and other movies. This is Disney’s big 100th anniversary! It should be full of references from all 100 years of movies! Maybe that’s just me but those references weren’t cutting it for me.

The Fandom

The Wish fandom is actually thriving more than I thought. We made a whole fandom out of nothinggg! Fan art, edits, fanfics, animatics, whole entire songs!! You name it, we have it. Honestly we should have just made the movie ourselves.

Again I say as a base movie it wasn’t that bad. There were some witty lines I liked, the friend group was cool (prob some of my fave characters tbh). The talking goat was THE funniest character(argue with the wall) and the Star is very plushy-able and I WILL be buying it when the murch drops thank YOU. Plus the storyline made sense with it being about making your dreams come true and such, perfectly falling in line with the whole Disney brand.

There were plenty of good things about it but it just wasn’t enough to call it a good anniversary movie. I finished the movie feeling horribly underwhelmed. It just felt like another Disney movie. I expected a lot more.

I mostly likely will be watching it again just to see if I find more, and who knows maybe it will be better the second time around.

Ian, when he’s healthy, often acts as the voice of reason in a lot of situations, especially towards Fiona, Lip, Mickey etc. He is often the one who is able to see the world around him and yet, come to his own conclusions about how things logically make sense.

Debbie Gallagher - ESFJ

One thing that has remained consistent in Debbie’s character, throughout all eleven seasons, is her need for emotional connection with others. We see this with her relationship with Frank, in earlier seasons. Her relationship with her fears, and even her relationship with her own daughter. This, and her unhealthy connection with the past causes most of her issues in the final season.

Carl Gallagher - ESFP

For the first half of the series, Carl is stuck in an Se-Te loop, where he just does things for the sake of it. Does “experiments” with his environment, not really caring who or what he hurts in the process. However, as he grows as a character, we see his Fi a lot more, when he stops ignoring it. His moral compass, which was non existent the first few seasons, is now a huge part of his character.

Liam Gallagher - INTP

Liam is very intelligent, and interested in knowledge for the sake of better understanding the world around him. He is constantly questioning the logic of the world around him, and has the idealist need to see the good in everyone, including Frank. He constantly sees multiple ideas in a situation and is able to come to his own conclusions about things.

Mickey Milkovich - ENTJ

Mickey has a very clear view of what he wants and how to get it most of it, and relies on information he has gotten from his family to get it. That being said, he struggles with emotions and showing them to other people, the only person who has ever really seen his emotional side being Ian, and he is definitely one of the few people he defends willingly no matter what.

In 1998, Santos ‘Buzz’ Garcia was sent to meet the new recruits that Captain Slider brought in from Texas.

He wasn’t too happy about it, since he just spent all of last night trying to figure out understand a math problem for the puzzle his wife gave him. Math wasn’t his strong suit, so he was pretty tired but luckily the coffee helped.

He swung open the door to the lobby, rubbing his eyes and walked in. He winked at the lady, Mary, at the front desk greeting her as she gave him his paperwork for today. He thanked her and was on his way.

The moment Santos walked into his shared office with Hollywood, he was met with the face of a very tallLatino. Fresh face as if he shaved that morning, tone arms like he’s been working, causal clothes and a soft smile then soon turned neutral the second he walks in.

‘Oh shit.’ He thought, especially seeing the man stand up from his chair. It made him feeling kinda short, especially with the look on his face. God damn, he was attractive and intimidating. His wife would probably leave her for him, and honestly, he would not be mad about it.

Buzz cleared his thought and smiled his classic goofy tone, "Hi! I'm Lieutenant Buzz like the action figure?"

"Hmm okay." Hummed the man with a nod noticing the look on his face holding out his hand to shake, "I'm Wraith."

He jokes, "Oh like a ghost!"

"Yeah or that's at least what my pals say at home." He replies with a dry smile, finding this guy to be an idiot already.

"I guess we are working together, right Holly?"

Hollywood nodded with a grin, "Yeah you are! I will bet up with you later, I gotta go see Chipper real quick."

His partner just walked out, leaving the door open. Buzz smiled handing over paperwork to Wraith trying some small talk.

"So where are you from?" Santos asked taking a seat across from him.

"Here. I grew up here." Wraith said dryly.

"Yeah, right sorry buddy."

"It's alright. I'm guessing you didn't grow up here."

"How can you tell?"

"The smile. The relaxed shoulders. The sorta tensed up, the way you saw me earlier."

"That obvious huh?"

"Sorta. Your also, not good at hiding your goofball grin either."

"It comes out naturally. Force of habit you know?"

"I don't know."

Wraith could tell he was getting under his skin, he was here to work on papers and fly planes. Not actually to make many friends, but this guy seemed nice. He guessed, he could've been a whole game he plays when he's around people he doesn't know.

Buzz headed him some papers into a file, placing a few folders onto the desk. He used to fly often, but after having his son in 93' he decided that paperwork would be easier, he still got to teach as well. That's what matters most, being near the planes.

The day went by pretty slow. Calls, meetings, signing paperwork and teaching a few recruits, such as Wraith the building. The whole time Wraith was giving a comment or two, a half smile, a witty remark and mostly a few glares. Eventually Wraith went flying with the other pilots as he stayed back chatting with Hollywood.

"So what do you think of him?" Hollywood asked grinning, "I like it! Has a edge to him, kinda files with Mav actually."

Buzz half smiled and made a face, "He's so so I guess. I don't think he likes me very much.."

"Dude, you're a buzzing bee for a reason. Makes sense why not everyone would like you."

" No shit! But still you liked me right?"

"You grew on me after day one."

"Okay fair. But this guy, he kept glaring at me, snapped at some of the students in the air and clearly knows better than anyone I met."

"Give it time."

"Why couldn't you be paired up with him today?"

"Because, I had meetings and someone needed to show him around. You're the best guy to do so!"

"You owe me!"

"You'll do great!"

Hollywood walked away with a smile, knowing that him and Wolfman would be laughing about Buzz's poor day later on over drinks. Also knowing that Audrey would slapped them for being mean, but was worth it.

"Rick Neven, come back here! Rick!" Santos called out but came no response from his friend.

However the man of the hour heard him and scoffed, "Tough break, huh?" Said Nicholas.

"You would say that..h-how much did you hear?"

"Only the last line, saying 'You'll do great'. Look man, I'm only here to work, hit the bars and get a paycheck. You're nice I guess, but you lack focus."

"Focus?"

"Yeah. It's like your mind is racing 20 miles an hour! Good in the skies, but not good on land."

"I get that."

"I notice you didn't fly up there, why?"

"Someone needs to make sure everything is balanced down here. Besides I'm a good pilot, but I read your files. You're great."

"Uh, thanks? I'm gonna hit the showers. And uh next time, don't talk too loud. I can hear everything."

"Shit.."

Wraith turned and walked away, cracking a small smile that no one saw as he headed to the showers. He even let out chuckled. To him, Santos was loud, goofy and unfocused on certain things. Sure he's only here to work and enjoy the nice new place filled with sunny skies, but a part of him actually found it charming.

Buzz sighed, thinking to wrap this day up and go home.

And that’s exactly what he did. The moment he walked into the house, he was met with the smell of moro de gandules y pollo. A bright grin lifted his spirts. He slides into the kitchen as the smell grew stronger, then he found the face behind that delicious smell.

He slowly wrapped his around her waist, playing with the loops of her jeans and rested his head on her shoulder. The smell of her simple perfume made him grin more. Her curly brown hair tickled his face.

His Spanish slipped out as he said, “¿Qué trama la dama más linda de la casa?”

“No sé, ¿qué tal si le preguntas a ella?” She replied with a tease, turning her face to kiss with him. The flavored taste of her lips, tells him that she was taste testing their late lunch.

“Hmm! That taste good, how was your day?”

“It was good. My mami called today, she says that she good. Also, I was cleaning the cabinets earlier and found my missing earrings.”

“I can see that! Te ves hermosa with them on.”

“Thank you. How was work?”

“Tricky.”

“How so? Who did you piss off?”

“I thought that was Maverick’s job to piss someone off?”

“Santos!”

“Maria, I didn’t piss anyone off or so I think?..anyway! I was given the opportunity to work with a new recruit today, who i thought was a transfer from somewhere else but he was, i tried to lighten up the mood with a joke and or try do small talk. But nothing works! He kept glaring at me and making witty remarks..”

If there one thing Maria knows about her husband is that he can be very inpatient and get annoyed easily. Get cocky even. The man expects things to always turn out a certain way, and can get carried away most of the time.

She sighed turning off the stove since the food was already to be served, walking over to him. “Baby, you gotta take it one step at a time. You will buzz off and knock into a wall if you don’t.”

“I won’t—” He recounted but was cut off.

“Not everyone is like yours friends or like us, who fell for your charm quickly. I bet he’s just tryin’ to get used to the place.”

“Not even a smile, babe! A real smile, not one of those loose half smiles that your dad likes to give to people who annoy him. He probably doesn’t even like me..”

“I bet he does.”

“How are you sure?”

She point behind him to the said ‘guy’ with a smile. The moment he turned around, he was met with the almost toothless grin of their 5 year old son. Mickey Garcia. Dressed in his Star Wars shirt, dark brown shorts and blue sandals. His dark brown curls were much starting to form into tighter ones. He was holding up his Wolverine action figures as well.

“Hi Papi!” Yelled Mickey with the sweetest grin, running into his daddy’s arms.

He scooped his son up in his arms, showering him with kisses as the boy tried to escape from, yelling for his mother’s help while in a fit of giggles. Mickey Garcia was all smiles.

“What did you do today?” Asked Santos catching his breath, placing another kiss on his cheek bouncing him.

“Today we class, our science teacher put on Magic School Bus and we learned about the flowers.” Replied the boy.

“Really? How about you tell me more as we go wash up for lunch, huh?”

The boys went over to the skin to wash up their hands as Maria served everyone’s plates. She laughed at how much they sounded sometimes, it was crazy.

“Okay and oh we played Soccer today in Gym Class and i was on the red team.” Mickey says drying his hands and hands a paper towel to his daddy.

“Thank you, buddy. Did your team win?” He asked, drying off his hands now, leading him to the

“Nice one!”

Maria handed Mickey his plate with a smile, “Okay, disfrute de su comida.”

After lunch, homework was done and dishes were washed. A few hours later, they all watched a quick Disney movie, showered, had dinner and then off to bed.

It took some protest but thankfully both parents, as always tucked in their giggly boy. Told him a story and kissed him. Turning on his night light, that was race car themed, and went off to their room.

His wife, wife was watching Tv by the time he returned back from checking downstairs for the second time in a row. Santos layed down in bed and sighed with a grin, “You know our son is pretty great.”

“He is.” She replied glancing over at him, then back at the time.

“How about we make another?”

“No senior, we agreed on one child.”

“I don’t remember that. But imagine, another one! Another sons, maybe twins girls?”

Maria hummed with a teased, “One girl, named Sasha or Julia.”

She inched over and played with his shirt. Santos hummed in agreement liking that idea, way better. He inched over, pulling the cover as capturing his lips onto hers chuckling as she tried hushed him, giggling in the process. She gripped his hand playfully, dishing a few more kisses and smiled brightly.

When suddenly…

“Mami! Papi! Can i have some more water?” Yelled Mickey from his room, as you can hear the footsteps in the hallway.

Both parents laughed.

“We can always practice instead.” Maria laughed pecking her husbands lips and called out to their son, “Of course, honey! I’m coming.”

“We should buy a mini fridge and keep it upstairs.” Santos jokingly suggested watching her leave the room.

The next two days nothing changed. The 4th day, Mickey wanted to come see the planes on the field. It’s been a while since he went. Thankfully he had no school, so he decided why not bring him to work for a bit.

Everything went smoothly, they saw the planes and he sat him down in a cockpit, see a few rooms where cool meetings took place, they saw a wall full of pilot’s pictures and Mickey happily took it all in. Buzz laughing, even using his camera to take a few pictures of them

It turned out to be a nice Take Your Son To Work Day. Everyone enjoyed seeing kids at the building, so they didn’t mind.

Buzz was talked into a General’s office real quick to confirm a few enlistment forms recently imported into the system. Mickey stayed outside the room sitting in a bench, playing with his toys talking with Sunset and Maverick for a bit before they were called back to work.

He was soon left alone to his own devices, using crayons extra to start coloring in his drawing that the nice secretary gave him.

Wraith was walking past the halls after handing in some paperwork to Viper, grabbing some packages for a officer then he noticed the little boy. He had to do a double take, not expecting to see a child here today or at all in the building for that matter.

He watched the kid for a moment, became curious. ‘What the hell?’ He thought. Wraith sighed rolling his eyes, wondering where this poor boys parents are. Maybe he’s lost?

Nicholas slowly walked over awkwardly fixing his baseball cap and asked, “Uh hey kid.”

The young boy looked up from his drawing not recognizing him and furrowed his eyebrow. “Hi.” He replied.

“A-are you lost?”

The boy shakes his head ‘no’.

“Okay um, where are your parents?”

“My papi is inside talking with someone.”

“Oh okay. Will he be long?”

He shrugged, “I don’t know.”

“Can i sit with you until he arrives?”

“Yeah. You wanna draw?”

“Sure. Uh, what’s your name, kid?”

“Mickey.”

“Nicholas.”

Wraith took a piece of paper and crayon, drawing a few cars, a sun and bears with smiley faces. He showed them to the boy who smiled a almost toothless grin, in result Wrath smiled. Mickey showed his drawings as well, pretty random doodles.

However Wraith thinks he noticed a character or two.

“Is that—is that Chewbacca?” He asked smiling, pointing to the brown tall character on the paper.

“Yeah!” Mickey smiled, “And that’s R2.”

“You like Star Wars?”

“Yeah! My daddy and I watch the movie.”

“Who’s your favorite?”

“R2!”

“Nice choice! I like Han. Darth Vader is cool too.”

“Yeah he is! My lunchbox has Darth Vader on it.”

“Pretty cool, kid. You got good taste in characters too.”

Less than half an hour went by, when finally Buzz stepped out of the office, holding some files and nodded, “Thank you, sir. I’ll be checking them out later, don’t worry.”

The moment he turn, shutting the door behind him carefully he heard the sound of laughter. But not just any sort of laughter. Any parents is bound to recognize their child’s voice, especially the sound of their giggles picturing the smile on their face. It wasn’t an odd thing, the kid always tended to laugh at something.

But that made it odd, was that he didn’t recognize the voice laughing with him. He leaned against the corner of the wall about to make a turn to see his son, curious as to who’s laughter that belonged to. Then he saw it.

His new partner. Nicholas “Wraith” Martin, was smiling. The man was laughing. Within the four days he knew the man, he hasn’t seen a different facial expression at all. But the moment he hung out with Mickey, the man was smiling and laughing. Honestly it made Buzz smile brightly seeing the change of effect on the guy. Maria and Hollywood were right, give it time.

He walked over to them slowly but surely, not wanting to distract or distribute the moment too quickly. He decided to play it cool.

Mickey was talking with Nicholas about The Flintstones cartoons when noticed his dad and shouted, “Daddy!”

“Hey buddy! What’s up?” Buzz replies with a matching smile, ruffling his hair once he reached the bench.

“I made a friend, I think? Me and Nicholas are talking.”

“Wow, I can see that! I see that your drawing too.”

“Y-yeah!”

Wraith on the other hand was taken back, not expecting to see Buzz today. Matter a fact, see that he has a son?! He wasn’t expecting for him to the father. It must be a dream. He guess he saw the resemblance in their facial features in cheeks and hair, but mostly betting the boy looked more like the mother.

“Uh, he’s your kid?” He asked, feeling kinda stupid about the question.

“Yeah, yeah I’m his dad. I’m sorta young I know.” Buzz replies simply.

“No, no it’s completely fine. Just wasn’t expecting for you to his dad, more like his uncle.”

“Yeah I get that a lot. But last time I checked, I’m the father. Besides, I think his mom deserves all the credit.”

Nicholas looked over at Mickey for a moment and then back at his partner, “Haha, I bet. Wow. Nice kid by the way.”

“Thanks.” Santos tells him with a smile fixing up the SpiderMan backpack, “Thanks for watching him. I hope he wasn’t any trouble..”

“No trouble at all. We bonded together, right kid?”

Mickey looked up and nodded smiling, “Yeah we did!”

Santo smiled reaching for his son’s hand, in which Mickey gladly took noticing that it’s time to go soon, so the boy decided to waving to Nicholas grinning softly. The boy and him exchanged drawing happily.

“I wish we can could stay and chat but the mrs. Garcia would be mad if we’re home late.” Santo said call apologetically with smile.

“No it’s alright. I get it.” Nicholas replied holding his drawing and chuckled, “You should get going then.”

“Actually, we’re free Saturday afternoon. You can home over for Barbecue with Mav, if you like?”

“I’ll like that!”

“Okay cool! Mick, say adiós to Wraith, buddy.”

Mickey smiled and sillily said, “Hehe adiós!”

Both men laughed and waved at each other walking away knowing they meet up again that week. It was good, real good. Yeah sure Wraith can be a bit tough and stronger than expected when it comes to his actions, he’s a good man. It just took Buzz a while to see that.

I've got a main idea of comics I want to do, but I'm gonna take longer talking about it, so I'll first mention a couple others-

I've in the past drawn a lot of like, online meme characters. Not this exactly, but stuff like "Earth-chan". Lately been thinking about revisiting that, making them my own characters, changing designs and names, and working from that for small slice-of-life things.

I've got a friend I collab with on ideas, and I asked him ideas for short stories. Planning to draw a couple of his ideas, both for portfolio and because he does good stuff.

However, the main thing, of course, is my ideas involving my characters Lalla Shepherd, Jackie Pollard, Lily Rock, etc etc.

Gonna go on at length about it now, so putting it under a read more.

I've got a setting of characters etc I've nurtured for a few years now. It's a setting of cartoon animal people, adventure, fighting, etc. Very much trying to replicate the Disney comics I grew up on, stuff like Barks, Cavazzano, Gottfredson, but also stuff like Tintin, Indiana Jones, Sonic the Comic. It's set in a fantasy version of Earth circa the 1960s, by which I mean it's just Earth, but everything's been renamed for denial purposes, a layer of distance. If I want "London" to be the 60s but "Lisbon" to be the 80s, I get to do so, because it's not really London or Lisbon, it's Fumdon and St. Vincent, right? If I want there to be a war in the backstory, it can be WW1, WW2, Korean War, and Vietnam War all at once, because it's not really any of those, it's a fantasy one. Kinda what Pokémon does with its regions.

The idea is to do multiple stories, small stories, short stories, in this setting. Again, like the comics I grew up on- adventure stories of 10 pages, rather than epics of 1000.

You can read an early first go at an introduction to it here. It's kind of outdated, in aesthetics at least, but it's still overall matching what I plan.

The starting point is, there's these three characters- Lalla Shepherd, a racer and former soldier dealing with what happened to her during the War, Jackie Pollard, a girl with a mysterious past who appears in Fumdon looking for a job and with an amazing aim; and Lily Rock, a supremely confident fighter who's travelled the world and is sent to Fumdon to cover the upcoming Tournament. Said Tournament is going to be a combat tournament held in Fumdon but part of the culture of a separate small nation-estate, as a diplomatic move between countries. This is attracting weirdos and people with ill intent, so our three main characters get made into a team of sheriffs to deal with it in the months leading to the event proper.

The tournament is primarily just a plot excuse though- it'll be happening "soon" for as long as needed. It's a near-future event that excuses why any character would be appearing now and making their entrance in the public stage, no matter how weird they might be.

It's also about a bootlegging criminal in another country, whose wares get stolen by a wannabe gentleman thief, and how that drags a lot of other characters into that story.

Open and obvious about it, it's primarily made of me seeing characters and ideas in other stuff, and going "I want to make my own version". Very Alan Moore League of Extraordinary Gentlemen in that sense- "I want to make fanfiction where James Bond fights The Avengers (the british spy team) and Mina Murray (from Dracula), but I don't have the rights for them, so I'll switch names around etc." Very cape comic books in that sense too- "we want to tell a story about Superman, but we're Marvel, so we make a Superman pastiche called Hyperion".

Part of it was influenced by the upcoming wave of public domain stuff in the US. As you can see by my drawings, it was planning to use specific characters like Mickey Mouse, but then I got confirmation that that's really really not gonna work internationally. Ah well.

Some of you might've been here long enough to recognise a lot of these ideas and characters were part of an abandoned webcomic I was doing before, 4QC. Well yeah, this is me trying to make that one work and avoid the pitfalls that killed it lol.

Dunno, hope that's enough context. I'm hoping I can get a new story of this, a remake of the old one I did maybe, out before the end of the year; and then to do a lot more next year, using the money I'm saving from Sonic work this year.

hello everyone, happy friday! <3 i wanted to do my bushmedicine fic's chapter update a little differently this time and write up something like an analysis(?) of what's going on in sniper's head that i really can't talk about so candidly in my fics.

it's important to me that the reader knows that sniper is very much a flawed person and part of this fic is about him realizing (and understanding) his emotions and feelings, not just in relation to medic (because i think good character development must happen for the sake of The Self before The Ship if that makes sense). i wanted to talk about what i'm trying to get across as the author and important points i want the reader to take notice of! :-) so let's get to it!

so as we've known the past few chapters, medic and sniper are baking together. sniper's at the point where he starts feeling like he can be a bit more vulnerable around medic. he tells medic about how he used to bake with his mother... undoubtedly this is a bit of a bittersweet thing for sniper, given that he hasn't done something like this since his mum passed.

sniper tells medic about this time that he'd been baking with his mum and acted impulsively/selfishly on some desire he'd had. it wasn't ever his intention to displease his parents, least of all his mother. obviously we know from canon that sniper eventually does intentionally displease his parents by going off and being an assassin, but I think that was something that took a lot for him to do.

“I watched me mum toss the whole thing. I was devastated. I’d been lookin’ forward to that pie all week. [...] Stupid, that was. But I couldn’t help it.

when sniper took and ate the "ruined" pie, he knew what he did was wrong. betrayed his mum's trust, disobeyed her when she told him to throw it out, etc. the desire that overcomes sniper here can be taken literally (he's hungry and wants the dessert), but it's intended to be symbolic of this... other aspect of sniper's personality that sniper always knew was within him but never actually "put a face to"... not something that was evil, but something that simply... was. a part of himself that sniper knew but didn't understand.

"Didn’t mean to be selfish about it, but some desire just… overcame me. I’d wanted it so bad, even though I knew it was wrong."

this, in sniper's mind, while it was wrong, it wasn't evil. it didn't hurt anybody and nobody stood to lose anything. i think his mum would be someone that always did her best to be emotionally sensitive to sniper, but ultimately not in the way that sniper felt he needed. in his youth he'd fantasize (seldom ever, if ever, acting upon them) about doing (small) rebellious things that, in his mind, were forgivable enough so that his parents would know he was still sweet Mickey, but was kind of... testing the limits of their love for him. he couldn't help that part of him wanted something that was wrong... but would his family still love him anyway?

this is very important to sniper, because he felt completely outcasted by everyone except for his family (specifically his mother). they're all he has. maybe doing this harmless thing could serve as a test for how they'd treat him if he'd really messed up or done something "bad." he needed to know that his parents needed him as badly as he needed them. he's always felt a duty to his parents (as most children do) and that isn't something that sniper takes lightly. he loves his parents no matter what. but would they love him no matter what?

he's horrible at reading people, but he wants to be good at it. he wants to understand others but more importantly, he wants to be understood and accepted, not rejected. for Someone Like Me, this is just how... thinking is. and it can be tiring and frustrating and complicated and sometimes it's easier to just... feel nothing at all!

i delve into the idea of the... simultaneous smothering and rejection (and Commitment to Misunderstanding him) he feels from his parents in the fic following this one, so i don't want to say too much about it now.... hehe!

[...] “you… felt that hunger again?” Medic asked [...] Sniper wordlessly moved to help, following the doctor’s patterns. “Ye- well, I guess it never really… went away. Like it wasn’t even about the bloody pie in the first place..."

unfortunately, this "small act of rebellion" stuck with sniper for the rest of his life. these kinds of feelings don't just go away. and this isn't something that "randomly acting out" can fix. sniper's revisting this moment with the New Wisdom of what medic has (unknowingly) taught him about feelings and realizes that maybe it wasn't as literal as him wanting a pie or wanting to act out.

sniper's notoriously frustrated with his hunger, but it's beginning to grow more and more as he spends more time around medic; to medic, these kinds of feelings are part of who we are and there's nothing bad or wrong about them. they're beautiful and worth celebrating, actually! and at this point in the fic we can see that sniper is slowly learning that. this thing (thoughts, feelings, desires) you taught yourself to hate? it's not evil. it's worthy of love, actually. that voracious desire isn't something that you need to suffer at the hands of. grab it by the horns and enjoy it!

Medic adored Sniper and adored his hunger, the hunger that made him what he was. He wanted to bring that hunger out in Sniper even more, wanted to feel the starving gnash of its teeth and tell it that he hears it, sees it for its monstrousness and loves it anyway.

and here's medic, a coworker that sniper never gave a second glance to (and vice versa). we know medic is the emotional opposite of sniper: he's very "loud" with his feelings, never seeks to dilute his personality, prioritizes himself over others, etc. and these aren't negative traits to sniper. sniper admires that medic can say what he means and means what he says and does what he wants when he wants. medic doesn't have the same emotional struggles as Sniper, but he's sympathetic to them and patient with him. he's effortlessly "passing the test" of unconditional love that sniper has wanted from someone for so long.

It suddenly became absolutely necessary to put himself close to Medic.

after being vulnerable and reflecting on some random anecdote of his past with medic, the doctor doesn't reject him. doesn't coddle him and tell him he's perfect, either. nice, easy balance. that makes sniper feel safer, like he can maybe begin to truly talk to medic (and maybe get a little physically closer too!). of course, they had a pretty heavy conversation early on about sniper's revival, but sniper's still convinced that's just pity. with time though, he's beginning to see that medic really does want to emotionally invest in him, and cherishes him just the way he is... which nobody has ever done before!

medic already knows that sniper is worthy of love (and revival... hehe), and wants to be the person to give that love to sniper. he doesn't want sniper feeling shame for who he is, because medic adores who sniper is. after all of their escapades together in my fics, we see that medic is most worried about scaring sniper off or breaking this... unspoken emotional trust that sniper has in medic that he's built throughout the course of the fics. more on that will be brought up later, but we'll leave it at that for now. :)

“Always felt like I was greedy, even when I wasn’t even taking anything. Thought if I finally took something I wanted, I’d feel better. But I just felt worse. Wise to know those kinds of feelings are best left alone.”

feeling certain feelings (gay feelings. this is about gay feelings) and not knowing what they are (but knowing that they aren't necessarily celebrated or accepted by the world at large) is scary. you try to push those things down to appease people around you who have no idea what's going on in your head, and you're in an emotional stalemate: telling them and facing rejection (putting it Mildly)... or learning how to just. smother your feelings and... don't deal with it?

sure, thats a good idea, sniper. let's just not deal with it!

his entire life, sniper's been treating his hunger (a metaphor that's VERY superficial at this point in my fic but grows with later installments) like it's this creature that he feeds now and then with some silly thing (small acts of rebellion, for example) to distract himself from further trying to understand what that feeling really is. i don't think sniper is very emotionally intelligent (sorry king </3) so i think the word hunger is just the word he chose to describe it, even if it might not fit how he's feeling. this is intentional!

for me personally, i like to have A Word that i can apply to multiple feelings at once. it itches my brain just right sldkf.. so i'm picturing sniper feeling similarly! feelings are put in categories and must be Defined in order for me to Feel them (awesome awetism trait). this is something sniper struggles with in my fics. for example, the word hunger is multi-faceted. it can mean:

ambition ("professionals have standards!")

desire (for medic, romantic, sexual)

literal need for sustenance

general wanting

so i think a lot of sniper's "development" in my fics is about identifying those feelings as much as feeling them. emotions are so complicated! and sorting out how you're feeling is just as complicated for some of us as sorting out what you're feeling!
