satoru's "coming out" to his parents: mine were so homophobic that i didn't come to terms with my own sexuality for a long, long time, so i empathized with the sheer panic and trauma that gave him. you don't make rational decisions when your parents are beating the shit out of you, and you also don't make rational decisions when you're 16 years old.

suguru choosing to leave reader behind: they could only withdraw so much money with the limits satoru's parents had placed on his bank account. they had to have enough to eat, to rent an apartment, to actually get away. they had to choose a place far enough so that satoru's parents wouldn't follow, which brings me to

retaliation: there's a unique kind of fear, when you're unsure if someone is hunting you down. there's a kind of terror in realizing they can track you. it's why they got rid of their phones, and immediately upon signing to the same company, received heavily protected ones. only people who had their number could reach them, or even respond.

"they could have said something:" again, they were panicked, satoru had just been beaten by his literal parents, and they were trying to flee as fast as possible. in the moment, they could not have and would not have been able to do that. as alluded to before, they did not live a comfortable life in asia. the beginning was rough as they scraped by. it wasn't until satoru began auditioning that things started looking up for them, and if you're into the kpop scene, you know how brutal training is. suguru ultimately spent all his time caring for satoru and working on the side until he also made it big.

"and what about after?:" honestly sometimes, when you know you fuck up, but you feel like you can't do anything about it anymore? that was them. and you can be upset with it all you want, but it had gotten to the point where they genuinely thought you would never be a part of their lives again. yet the chasm in their chest grew larger and larger, until they realized they couldn't continue on unless they know they at least tried.

that's not to say reader isn't in a predicament as well, like you mentioned nonnie. leaving hurts, and abandonment is worse, so it would be far easier to paint them as the bad guys. it doesn't matter what their intentions were. to reader, they left her alone, and now they're suddenly back for unknown reasons? reader is also not the most stable of mind right now (real); she's working two jobs on top of taking care of her sick parents. for the past five years, she's had to be the one taking care of herself. now satosugu need to prove that they WANT to be the ones taking care of her. i've been in this situation before, as the left party (who eventually ended up forgiving the leaver), so i hope that will help to incorporate realism into the situation.

there's also an original scenario i was thinking of cuz megumi likes reading (specifically non fiction) so what if the reader was a worker at a book store or a librarian. maybe they know about sorcery already because they read a non-fic book about it and recognize his uniform when he walks in.

also i haven't seen a megumi x tsumiki's friend!reader, esp considering that one girl when tsumiki is confronting megumi about bullying lol. this one could have an interesting conflict bc that girl urged tsumiki to do the test of courage that ended up getting her cursed! so then how would megumi deal with his love interest (the reader) also being the person somewhat at fault for his sister's demise?

not a meet-cute prompt but generally i think it would b interesting in any megumi fic for gojo to be a conflict. like, as megumi's father figure, he doesn't want megumi to end up like him and suguru, so he's very hesitant about letting megumi fall in love with someone since "love is the most twisted curse of them all." but i think in the end, he might realize that love/the reader is exactly what will stop megumi from turning into suguru, so gojo ends up giving the reader his blessing.

ending: canon ending; geto chooses reader over gojo; they turn evil and run away together with nanako and mimiko. although it could also be interesting for geto to choose gojo over the reader, or if there's somehow a happy ending for everyone here.

summary: this is pretty self-indulgent lol this one's for everyone who wants to heal everyone's trauma and just have a happy ending lmao. i had this idea of the reader either being a sorcerer or a curse who has the power to grant one wish but in doing so sacrifices themselves (they die). so, obviously, they're in high demand by everyone:

megumi wants to heal his sister

gojo wants to bring suguru back

geto wants to rid the world of non-sorcerers

toji wants his wife back

shoko wants her friends back

some situations the reader may find themselves in are being held at the school so that nobody can use their power unless absolutely necessary. or maybe they were captured by the curse users.

technicalities about the reader's power: they can't grant their own wish, but they have full autonomy over whose wish they can grant, meaning the only way that someone could get their wish granted is through befriending and persuading the reader.

conflicts/themes:

characters having to choose between their wish (which kills the reader) and their fondness of the reader (wanting the reader to stay)

will they truly be happy if their wishes are granted?

Then Satoru has realizes that he has huge feelings for Suguru which he expected. But you that’s as a harder pill to swallow. Satoru would be a bit toxic in showing that he is jealous towards you since your with Suguru.

Suguru would that down since he would be able to read Satoru well. And he can see that Satoru is just feeling left out. He also knows you see the white haired man as more than a friend which is why upsets you that Satoru doesn’t like you. I can see Suguru trying to gas light you out of believing Satoru hates you.

Satoru after a while figures out that you think he really hates you. So he fails it back, he accepts that he is hopelessly in love with Suguru and You. And that soon enough the two of you will be married while he goes from partner to partner trying to find within what he sees in his two best friends.

If I can add my two cents to the "inclusivity debate" the more inclusive people try to be, the more it seperates everyone.

Most authors do a wonderful job of making most things as bland and description-less as possible, but sometimes stuff slips through. It's not a bad thing, and it's up to the reader to keep going and get over it.

I've read a lot of fics with a main character who curses or has curly hair (which I don't) but I'm able to keep reading it because I'm a FREAKING ADULT and I know that fic wasn't written for me specifically.

I sincerely can't imagine thinking everyone needs to cater to me and only my opinions on things. Good grief. People have became so entitled that they think they deserve the world from regular people online who write for fun in their spare time.

You’re also correct about some things slipping in even when we don’t mean for them to. Not all that long ago I realized I sometimes describe the character running their hand through your hair, which is not something that would be well received for a black reader (especially one with their hair done up all nice and pretty 😩) so I made a conscious decision to correct that unless hair pulling was specifically on the menu. I also stopped using “blushed” quite a while ago too, particularly in the context of it being visible and switched over to describing the sensation of actively blushing. No one pointed these out, it was just something that occurred to me in my pursuit of being as all inclusive as possible, so this most certainly IS an ever evolving hobby. If you’re not learning something as you go I can only assume you’re not actually putting in any effort with what you create? And things like this - things that further the portrayal of the reader being a blank slate are absolutely valid ways to increase your inclusivity imo.

Whereas using hyper specific pronouns that only apply to relatively small groups … that just causes even more division my dude. Instead of using ‘they’ as a valid placeholder for whatever your pronouns actually are, you’re going to raise a big stink about it and create more disconnect because why? That you vs them mentality is just not it. Which is particularly confusing in this case because not all non-binary people use ‘they’ anyway?? So I’m not really sure why they felt the need to make the distinction between them and the others in the first place. Tbh the fracturing of the LGBTQ community into individual factions and cliques in recent years seems to have done quite a bit of harm to their overall strength and I think this is in many ways a result of that. Rather than seeing ‘they’ as a perfectly valid umbrella term they’re creating even more divide by saying ‘that’s not good enough for ME’ which is just crazy from my perspective.

Like, I’ve personally never met anyone who went by ‘it’ pronouns but if I don’t go out of my way to write for them too I’m not being inclusive enough? Short of writing an individualized fic for you specifically what can I possibly do to actually please you? Or is that what this is? A way to guilt trip content creators into quite literally catering to you on an individual level?
