so i was re-watching Buddy Daddies and i noticed something:

the games that we see Rei playing/owning at first appear to be much more adult oriented, based on the dark and moody colours featured in the game screenshot and on the info books we can see when Miri knocks all the game cases over. also—and very importantly—Rei tells Miri that he doesn’t have Morio Kart (which, based on the game it’s obviously referencing, is geared towards all-ages) when she asks about it. so right away the show establishes a divide between Miri and Rei

but later, after we get the cute episode in which Rei finally accepts the title of papa, we see Rei happily wandering around with his plushies:

that we later find out are characters from the game, Morio Kart:

and that made me realize that it was definitely Miri who introduced Rei to Morio Kart, and he learned to delight in it’s child-friendly simplicity—much like we’ve seen before with the sugary breakfast cereal or even playing at the park. the more Miri and Rei bond, the more Rei experiences what childhood could—and should—be.

and i think it’s really important that they are bonding through play—something Rei never got to experience growing up. and unlike Kazuki who at least seems to have some degree of parental instinct, Rei doesn’t really know how to behave around children, so finding that common ground with video games is so important to their developing relationship. i mean, whenever Miri talks about Rei to other people, she always mentions how good he is at video games, and we’re always given the impression that aside from jobs, Rei doesn’t do a lot with his spare time aside from gaming. video games are a major aspect of their relationship, and without them, they might not have been able to grow as close as they have now.

(side note: i think it’s interesting how Rei seems to favour the two characters—the dark wolf and the bright feminine one—in Morio Kart. i’ve seen others draw the comparisons between Rei and Kazuki and the two characters based on the similar dark/light theme going on, but i’d like to suggest that the comparison should actually be with Rei and Miri; the lighter character appears more feminine like Miri and also has bows in its hair similar to Miri’s hair clip. it could be another way of showing how Rei and Miri are growing closer)

As someone who kinda understands Japanese, the way the characters talk really adds a lot to their personality. I'm the type of person who really pays attention to the types of pronouns they use and Kuya's speech drives me nuts every time!!!

Okay, so first of all, we all know that Kuya has high regard for himself and that's justified. He's powerful and the wise old fox of the group plus, he's been with Huey the longest. With that being said, he talks way too respectfully and that gap in character really sells it for me.In Japanese he refers to himself as "boku" which is a very respectful term for a males. It's used in more formal settings or just situations that require more tact and manners in general. That's not all though, he uses it in its kanji form "僕" which means that it's even MORE formal! Just how cute is that?

Next, he never really refers to people with the pronouns for "you". He doesn't use terms like "omae", "anata", or "kimi" towards Eiden and the clan members but instead refers to them as titles like "wolf pup" for Garu/Karu, "old friend" for Quincy etc. This is just another show of Kuya talking very politely because using second-person pronouns can be seen as informal or rude in Japanese. As for Eiden, he refers to him as "Eito-san". Calling people by their names is just more respectful. In English, it's translated as "young master" and I think that's just a way for us to see how he still recognizes Eiden's position in some way. He also refers to Rei as such, so we can definitely see that Kuya recognizes hierarchial positions despite his personality. Even just generally, he uses "desu" and "masu" often so YES fox boy is very very respectful in his speech.

This is just word vomit so I don't know if I'm making any sense but I just cry inside everytime Kuya has new voiced lines because I also love the intonations in his voice. I don't really know Japanese fluently but I know enough to be able to play Japanese only games so if anyone wants to correct me or elaborate feel free to do so!

Are there any mangas or anime you really enjoy?

Yes!!! :D here are just a few I especially love:

✧ Summertime Render - I LOVE THIS ANIME/MANGA OMG...... I cannot hype it enough. The plot and its twists had me at the edge of my seat throughout. All of the characters have such strong personalities, the villains are really well done, the mystery and action are executed wonderfully, the pacing is great, the setting is amazing, the ost scratches my brain!!! In short, everything about this series is 10/10 for me.

✧ Great Pretender - another series I love to pieces! The backgrounds are so aesthetically pleasing,,, uuuwaaaa. The characters are so memorable, and the plots for each individual con are amazing. I'm left breathless every time because somehow the stakes just keep raising. It's so good!!!!! The opening song is also such a banger?!?!!??!! orz I could listen to it forever.

✧ THEO by Aono Nachi - it's such a cute BL. 🥺 I loved the dynamic between Theo and Rei. Maybe it's because I'm weak to master-servant dynamics, but then I also like how emotional their romance is and how stubborn Rei is. It was really wonderful!!

✧ Marriage to the Wolf by Inui Hana - another lovely BL!! I adored the dynamic between Kaede and Ren. The way they couldn't stand each other in the beginning..... slowly growing closer and softening to each other. The way they're both doing things out of obligation at first because it's an arranged marriage and the fact that Ren is holding back for Kaede's sake...... THEIR BANTER!!!!!! orz orz

✧ Devilman Crybaby (the netflix adaptation) - THIS SHOW. It hurts me every time I watch it. The ost is a banger, the art style is amazing, the way I cried ugly the first time I watched it. The "why am I the only one speaking, Akira?" haunts me to this day. I highly recommend it.

✧ ODDTAXI - the plot and the twist omg!!!!!! And the mystery!!!!! I may be biased because Riddle's VA voices Odokawa and I love anything that Natsuki Hanae does!! His work is always outstanding. The opening is also another banger. I can't say much without spoiling something major, but I highly recommend this anime. It's definitely worth the watch!!!

✧ The Disastrous Life of Saiki K - Saiki K my beloved. It always manages to make me laugh. I love Saiki's character. He's so funny, as is the rest of the cast. Kaidou never fails to make me laugh, especially in the dub. He's so silly. I think about "drowning in inch-deep water isn't easy" every day LOL.

✧ Romantic Killer - AAAAA I LOVED THIS SHOW!!!!! Maybe it's because Anzu is such a relatable female lead to me (but also because Riddle and Leona's VAs voice two of the main love interests hehe). It's so fun! It also handles the serious aspects of its plot really well. I loved Anzu's dynamic with Riri.

✧ Death is the Only Ending for the Villainess - it's been a moment since I've caught up with this manhwa, but I love it!!! The characters are all really striking. Most of all, I really like Penelope's character!!! <3 she's such a strong female lead. I like her interactions with all of the characters.

✧ Toilet-bound Hanako-kun - this manga is everything to me!!!! I absolutely adore the plot and its characters. Hanako and Yashiro's dynamic is really cute. :D I forgot what chapter I left off on, but I remember it left me in shambles. T^T

a BUNCH of Garu/Karu meta, part 2: eyes, Karu-fronting units, In Defense of Sexy Garu/Karu, Leroy & Garu conspiracy, Update to Rei/Gramps theory, general "character development"

So over here I wrote a bunch of Garu/Karu meta zizz-asdf-re-r-o-u.tumblr.com/post/737197419853398016/ and I knew that eventually I'd wanna write more, so here's part 2!

Once again, disclaimer that I have not played every event nor watched every intimacy rooms so I am definitely missing some lore. If anyone has additional info to my questions, lemme know! Also, spoilers everywhere!

A) Blue eyes or yellow eyes?

In a couple comments of phaerlax's fics, he suggested that Karu's eyes are actually blue and I thought I'd follow up with some ~canon~ evidence.

Ch7- every mention of their switching involves language, attitude, and mannerisms, nothing about eye color.

Ch13- Kolt is about to kidnap Garu when Karu takes over. It's very fast and happens all in 1 sentence so there isn't space to mention any eye colors, but Kolt doesn't realize they've switched until Karu has kicked him in the face

Master's Gift- when Karu is pretending to be Garu, Eiden realizes it with the language and voice again, not eyes.

Howling Cyclone- when Garu suddenly takes over with no one around, the text narration only says "the wolf yokai closes and opens his eyes before dashing..." No mention of eye color and this time its from the third person text narration, rather than Eiden or any other character's POV.

Misty Vale- when the young wolves encounter Karu, they don't realize that Garu has switched until Karu announces to call him that.

Binary Starlight- no mention of eye color, but the modeling people, store owners, and Karu's fans, only refer to him as Karu or Mr Wolf Yokai, including when it's Garu taking Karu's place during the competition announcements.

Some people might have noticed this by now, but Garu's ally units all have blue eyes in their sprites. But when you're actually battling, OG SSR/SR/R/N are all Karu voice lines. HC & EG Garu seem to have more Garu battle voice lines than Karu voice lines. I don't have all of them, so if anyone is willing to help me look into EB and FF Garu, please do! In a cool meta way, the fact that the sprites have blue eyes yet its Karu's voice coming out, indicates to me that Karu's eyes are probably blue.

And lastly- have you noticed Garu's battle loading screen pose, OG loading homepage, Bliss promotional pic with everyone's OG poses + new Dante/Blade/Rei, and Garu's sprite in the opening animated sequence? He's manspreading and has an angry face. Yes, we've seen Garu angry a number of times, but in the new loading homepage with Rei and Dante, Garu is smiling and Garu's angry face is usually still quite cute. I think the OG version is Karu and he has blue eyes there.

B) Karu Fronting Units

Ok so slightly following up from that last bit. I had a idea once, where it would've been cool for Karu to front in the offensive/defensive units, such as strikers and guardians, and Garu to front in the supportive units, such as buffers and healers. Especially since the battle voice lines already do that (see point above). This would be extra cool cause it lines up with their lore/personalities and DID system. Karu is the protector alter, doing a lot of the Dead Zone surviving, and it'd make sense for him to do offensive/defensive battle units.

But also- Binary Starlight Garu should have totally been Karu fronting. Frozen Echoes, while Garu is onscreen more often, is about Karu wanting to sing and then getting kidnapped. But more importantly, the intimacy stories are about Karu's modeling competition. He's also a striker and, as mentioned, I thought it would be cool to have Karu being the strikers.

Endless Banquet Garu probably would have been nice to be a Karu unit because part of it is about Karu wanting to go to the yokai festival, but it was also Garu's 1st event SSR, so it makes sense that he wouldn't be.

So here's to me sending out into the universe that we get a future Karu main event SSR. He's still missing a saboteur and I can see a saboteur going either Garu or Karu.

C) In Defense of Sexy Garu/Karu

People's biggest problem with Garu is usually how young he looks and acts. You are not wrong if you are uncomfortable with Garu/Karu being sexualized! That is totally valid! This section is not for you. This section is for ignorant haters. (Garu/Karu are just fictional characters so I don't think too defensively on this so I won't be offended if you still do.)

First up- Garu/Karu is not a shota. Shotacon is defined as underage/prepubescent/pubescent boys in an erotic/sexualized manner. And yes there are muscle shotas. But Garu is not one of them. Depending on the lore, Garu is 19-33+ (possibly older, see that other post where I calculated his possible age) and he has a young adult proportioned body. However, he has a major babyface and acts puppylike/borderline childlike and does appear younger than the rest of the cast. So it's possible that he's shota-adjacent and I can see why people think he'd be the "1000 year old loli/shota" characters.

Next- puppy play! Have you heard of animal roleplay and specifically leather puppies? Have you met someone whose done puppyplay? Seems an awful lot like Garu right? You'd be right! I'm more of a handler, but a lot (though not all) of the (western) puppy players I know go into a (dumbed down) puppy headspace, act hyper, head scratches, play fetch, bark, treats, and "treats". (Naturally, IA studio is writing from the Asian perspective so the scene might be different there & they probably didn't consult any puppy players anyways, but there's no set "rules".) Sound familiar?

I'm like 99% sure Garu/Karu is supposed to represent puppy play, not shotas. There's a reason the most common imagery of a leather puppy is a pup hood, some kind of gag, collar, chest harness, jockstrap, butt plug tail, and leather boots. Also sound familiar? It's very close to OG SSR and SR Garu, and when the devs gave BS Garu a jockstrap, that sealed the deal. Same with when they made Garu/Karu an omega in the A/B/O event.

Now that we agreed that Garu/Karu is puppy play and not shotacon, one common factor amongst puppyplayers is the sexycute factor. As in, the puppy could be acting cute and affectionate and puppylike while getting fucked. Head scratches while doing a blowjob. And so on. NU Carnival characters fill a variety of sexy roles and while we have 2 other yokai, Garu is the one that fills the puppy play role. He's not a furry, but he's the closest thing for those who are into it. And of course, he (and Kuya) are the token kemonomimi. I'd argue that Garu is actually more human that most puppies I've seen/played with since he is primarily bipedal and talks fully in a human language.

So yeah its fine to sexualize them because of the sexy archetype they fulfill!

D) Leroy and Garu Conspiracy

So this is a wild and possibly impossible conspiracy theory. At the end of Gambler's Paradise, we get a scene between Aster and Rei talking about a mysterious "that group". In ch 13, Rei tells us that Council of Sorcery is trying to replace the need for Huey's essence. Throughout Gambler's Paradise, we find out that Leroy is a recent imperfect familiar that was a result of experiments with Huey's essence. Throughout Misty Vale and Ch 13, we get hints that Garu might have been experimented on by the Council long ago.

So my conspiracy theory is that both Leroy and Garu were experimented on by the same Council of Sorcery, even if they were from different departments. Garu was possibly more than a decade or several decades ago and Leroy was within the past couple months or year cause he didn't start causing chaos in Aster's casinos until recently. This means that either there are different departments focusing on different experiments, but also totally possible that back then, they were experimenting on removing Huey's essence and now they're working on replicating Huey's essence.

Bonus weird similarity between Garu, Leroy, and Morvay- they all really REALLY like eating their choice of preferred food, and get hungry very easily. (Ok Garu technically might be super hungry cause he had very little food for many many years, but still)

HMMMMMM LORE MIC DROP.

E) Update to Rei is Gramps/Garu/Karu backstory

Here I theorized that Rei might be Gramps and other people have theorized or drawn fanart of this too. HOWEVER, Howling Cyclone does have a major problem in that we see Gramp's ghost.

What i propose to fix this: we don't know when ch13 or Eerie Escapade happened and realistically it's probably because Rei wasn't created as a character yet. But I can explain this lore away with saying even if Rei died "long ago", we dont know when he was reborn. And hey, maybe for all we know, the Gramps ghost was actually Father, realizing that even if Garu has Eiden, Karu could use some more support and decided to go revive Rei. :shrug: Or maybe they'll retcon the Howling Cyclone ghost like they retconned Aster's dick.

F) Garu/Karu's ~Character Development~ (not H scene specific)

(Warning for rambling!) So in my post about whether or not Kuya has character development and if it's even necessary, I mentioned that Garu & Karu needed character development. In various replies (but not my post), one comparison I've brought up between Kuya and Garu/Karu(+Zuko) is the difference between slow gradual changes and the heroes journey. And I thought I'd elaborate on that some more.

To clarify on Kuya- he's over 200 years old and has been changing slowly over time since forever. He started the story already having changed over time and will probably not stop going through this kind of slow gradual change, simply due to the fact that time passes and he's immortal. And while Eiden plays a part in present day, overall Kuya is not having major story beats causing massive changes.

The cool thing about Nu Carnival's cast, as evidenced by Kuya, is that everyone is on different points of their ~character development~ and Garu/Karu is starting from their very beginning. Yakumo is also starting from the very beginning. Whereas someone like Dante, Olivine, and Edmond are already somewhere further down the adventure. Or they have a different kind of character development path like Kuya, Rei, and Blade.

Now for Garu/Karu. So the classic heroes journey is a story template where the protagonist gets a call to adventure, meets various character archetypes, endures many trials, and returns changed in some way. Obviously it's not a 1:1 matchup with Garu/Karu's story, but he does get a call to adventure (joining the clan), meets a mentor(the clan members), and is currently still enduring many trials. This is what I mean by he has a big "heroes journey development". And using this pattern, we can predict that Garu/Karu will continue enduring more tests, before encountering a major ordeal, conquering it, returning back a changed man.

Now why is Garu, or more specifically, Karu's character development important or necessary? Much like how Yakumo started out his heroes journey as a "newbie", Garu and especially Karu start out as "newbies", with limited empowerment, not that many skills yet, MANY basic things to learn (and amnesia, or at least Garu has amnesia. Karu is debatable). Karu has big dreams, really big dreams, and while they're played for laughs, he absolutely sucks at those big dreams. He's either going to achieve those big dreams, change those big dreams, or lose his delusions of grandeur and that will be character development. His current stage in life, lack of power (and stamina lol), trauma, and unfortunate circumstances are preventing him from achieving those big dreams. Garu is more chill and mostly just wants to have Fun with his Master and help people where he can (including helping Karu). However, he also lacks power, is a newbie to things, and got that traumaTM that just causes him problems. Garu also kind of represents the coming of age plot- they may have gained basic survival skills in the Dead Zone & had no social skills, but have also started dabbling in learning and leadership in Forgotten Fruit, Eerie Escapade, and Misty Vale. He's slowly becoming braver. They also didn't know how to read before meeting Yakumo & Olivine, but now they can sort of write sentences!

As for their role in the story & how it ties in with character development. He's the cutesy comic relief like Blade or Topper, but also, as mentioned in my Kuya post, that they're a victim of the Gemstone plotTM. SPOILER TERRITORY. One major conflict that the plot is coming against in the main storyline is altars going haywire and the Council of Sorcery and Garu (and possibly Leroy) might be the key to solving this mystery. However, with his amnesia and limited empowerment, they can't really progress with it. Therefore, it is crucial for Garu/Karu to experience ~character development~ to move forward.

I have written a lot of NU:Carnival fanfic holy shit this took longer than I thought it would take when I had the procrastinative idea

The Mark of the Fox is upon 18 of my fics. I have written 35, so that makes for more than 50%. But he only actually appears in 01.

Kuya/Karu is extremely canon to anything I write.

I have a lot of fun having Eiden use Kuya as a touchstone for all things kinky.

Okay, saw Kung Fu Panda 4 and... I liked it.

Will say it's the weakest entry in the franchise, but at the same time, I am happy we get another adventure with Po.

I actually like the concept of Po training someone to carry his title, there is a lot of story potential there. The problem is that it isn't done well or focused on enough for the movie. It makes me wonder if they are saving the passing of the torch plotline for the last 2 possible movies that Jeffrey Katzenburg talked about.

The Chameleon though, wasted potential. She could have been the biggest villain in the franchise, but felt like a "Legends of Awesomeness" villain of the week.

Her motives, I am not saying they couldn't work, but they could have if MANTIS was there. Like make it so that her problem wasn't her size, but her dedication. Mantis facing the same problem she did, but worked hard to over come people judging his fighting prowess based on size. There would have been a nice talk too.

I don't mind the Furious Five not being involved this time, Po needs his own adventure to show how far he has come and prove he can stand on his own. I understand the frusteration. I mean I would be too if The Bad Guys 2 only has Wolf and Diane with the rest of the gang MIA. I just hope the Furious Five makes a return in a future project, even under different voice actors as long as the protrayals feel true to the characters.

Also, they hyped up the return of the villains of the previous movies and... Only Tai Lung appears to matter, like Shen and Kai don't talk or interact with Po, they are just there. Why even bother bringing back? Just to have people point and say "OH MY GOSH! IT'S THE VILLAINS FROM THE TRILOGY! THEY ARE ALL HERE!". They didn't do anything with them to help make this entry feel epic or climatic.

Li was there too. I really, really wanted Li to meet Shen so he could go through a character arc about the trauma he faced when his village was attacked and he lost his family. Ping could have comforted him and helped him find the strength to be a hero and help save the day alongside the others.

Lastly, Zhen. She is essentially Diane, but more mischevious with a hint of clumsiness and isn't OP. A complete breath of fresh air and Iiked her, but... I really hope they aren't gonna do what I think they're planning for the char, even if I do think the passing of the torch is being handled far better than with Rey in Star Wars or Indiana Jones The Dial of Destiny. Gradual, not instantaneous, and doesn't corrupt or downplay the original male hero.

But I would like to see Zhen try to find her own identity and be a better version of herself. Like maybe the next film could dive into Zhen feeling incapable of handling the burden of being the Dragon Warrior, or heck, Po having to deal with what Shifu did with Tai Lung and have Zhen go rogue. Zhen trying to do what she thinks is best for China. This could be used to dive more into Zhen's backstory and motivations (Destroy kung fu and wipe it from history or take away everybody's chi so they won't abuse it).

After all said, this feels more like a stepping stone for a follow up with fan service than anything else. 😅

A rough translation of my Saniwa username: 天狼星

This is the star Sirius, which roughly translates to "heavenly wolf star" in Chinese/Japanese.

I wanted a daimyou-style title for my saniwa self-insert, so it turned into Wolf of Celestia.

Don't be fooled by the name, though. I'm actually just a smol wet puppy burdened with feelings for boys who don't exist.

“Elara” is the name of one of Jupiter's moons. In Greek mythology, she is a mortal princess with an unfortunately lame story. But I liked the sound of the name so I kept it.

The pronunciation on wikipedia is EL-ara. I also accept el-ARA.

You may have noticed that I call him Rei in some posts and Zayne in other posts. Sometimes even in the same post, like this one. This is a very deliberate choice.

I first learned of his existence from Satou Takuya retweeting one of the promo videos for the game before it was released, so even before Day 1, I knew him as Rei. (And I was downbad for him without even knowing a thing about him.)

He is still Rei to me and always will be, but for ease of communication, I call him Zayne.

Long story short,

MC is red because… put simply, that’s my colour

Zayne is always blue

But because tumblr is mostly in dark mode and I’m too lazy to add colours that aren’t on the default options, Dawnbreaker is usually red

Because if he were to choose a colour, it would always be hers

The only time Dawnbreaker isn’t in red is when MC is in the same scenario. In those cases, Dawnbreaker is the default text colour, relinquishing his colour to her

Because he would choose to be empty if it meant he could stay with her for just a little longer

Out of curiosity what inspires the type of hybrid you make the todorokis in changing currents?

And the type they are in under my tail. Bunny/ wolf and lion fish/reef shark is so interesting to me.

For Changing Currents I was just trying to pick traits that I thought could work into the original design that @oxygen537art created! I liked the spines along Dabi's back and the frills on his hips and thought they looked similar to a lionfish and I thought that the tail and teeth resembled a shark, so that's what I went with!

As for the bunny/wolf hybrid, I did that because I knew I wanted a bunny for Dabi's character and I also wanted ABO dynamics without having to apply them to the whole world, so I decided only wolves had secondary sexes, and that also fit because I knew I wanted Enji/Rei to be a predator/prey dynamic.

Since I'm not writing realistic fiction I am firmly in the camp of "fudge everything until it suits the story" and hybrids just happened to be the way I was able to get to what I wanted in those stories!

I’m in such a mating cycle/animal instincts mood so a tierlist of that seems fitting. what animal hybrids would the cast be? -rei

so many of these characters could fit as so many different things but fuck it these are what i'm running with

Anzu would make a really cute fluffy lionhead type bunny or a wool breed. Eichi is probably some kind of purebred rex, super soft ears and calm. Leo reminds me of one of those really emotive rabbits that will thump at you for something entirely minor, then start binkying around all over the place for some other random reason. Makoto is your average white rabbit. Nazuna is just your standard dwarf rabbit, cute but nothing wild. Wataru might secretly be a hare. Mayoi is a lop, he's also the most prone to die on the spot from stress smh.

As cats... HiMERU is a very calm, but not very affectionate cat with very sleek fur. Ibara seems very affectionate but then bites you if you try to pet him too much, also has really coarse fur. Jun is the rare type of cat that's okay with literally anything. Keito is aloof, but not mean if sought out and doesn't run away. Natsume thwacks things he doesn't like away from him (including other people). Mika has a few people who he allows to pet him, and runs away from anyone else.

If i had to put the dog people to breeds: Arashi as a standard poodle with flashy looks and a lot of energy. Chiaki honestly makes me think of a shepherd breed, hardworking and loyal. While I could call Koga a corgi for the meme of it, I think he's actually more like some kind of high-strung spitz. Subaru reminds me of a heeler. Mao is def a kind of collie who is super hard working and gets anxious if he has nothing to do. Tatsumi is like a LGD to me (think great pyreneese), calm and chill but not a push over at all. Niki is a sighthound mix because he's so weird bless. Tsumugi is dependable, calm person that reminds me of a newfoundland (also fluffy)

Hiyori is a lovebird! So sweet, but also bratty. Hokuto is smart, but also weird, he's a magpie. Izumi is a peacock, showy to his own detriment. Have you ever seen fancy pigeons? Shu is one of the ones with the really dramatic trails and pulled back heads. Souma makes me think of a really inquisitive ringneck or a songbird. Yuzuru is a hawk! totally tethered and accustomed to society, but a hawk nonetheless.

With how regal and intimidating he is, Nagisa's gotta be some kind of big catboy. A white lion or tiger feels most fitting. Adonis was a struggle to place but I think being a bear suits him well. Cop out answer for Kanata would be to just call him a fish, but I think calling him a capybara is fitting. So i also struggled a bit with Kuro but ultimately, I want to call him wolf. Can you even be surprised if i call Madara a cowboy? No you can't. Ritsu and Rei are already vampires, might as well be batboys. Rinne is a crafty, scheming little shit, he's totally a fox.

Ocean inspired

Chapter 1

The arrival of Lady Stark was well in preparation. Servants dashed around the castle of dragon stone at the command of the princess, making sure all was perfect. The Starks were loyal people, they bent the knee to the heir of the realm already. But if Rhaenyra's plans went as she hoped, the bond of the houses would be further strengthened by her eldest son wedding The little sister of Kregan. That was the plan of course, though it was only known by the princess and her husband Daemon.

The idea came upon them when a letter arrived from a raven. The Lady Stark was hoping to practice her art and her poetry in dragonstone, she asked her brother who in turn asked the princess. That's when the idea came about her and her husband.

She raised her sons well, Jace was charming enough and a respectful boy. They withheld the betrothal of him and Baela at the hopes this pairing would work. But they still planned to wed Luke and Rhaena to secure the words of Princess Rhaenys and her husband. Further on of course, as to not alarm the boys or make them think anything they shouldn't. Winning over Lady Stark naturally would be much better for them, the Lady could tell her brother of hopes of marriage instead of the Princess, so her intentions didn't seem Ill or forced from the start.

"My princess! The Lady has arrived! Her boat has just docked!" A servant ran up to the princess and curtseyed as she told her of the news. To which she only smiled in response and lifted her dress to quicken her pace down the stairs of the castle. "Luke, Jace, come now she has arrived!" She spoke to her boys while passing by the main room of the castle. They both stood from their spots wide eyed and followed after their mother, eager for interaction with someone other than their beloved family.

As the three made their way outside and then down to the docs of Dragonstone, 4 guards walked with them on the outside of the trio. Stone faced and protective. They stopped at the start of the docs and waited for the girl to approach. Luke was the first to stand up on his tip toes and peer over his brothers shoulder, looking at the large boat for her. When he finally spotted the Stark he felt his eyes nearly pop from his skull, for multiple reasons. She stepped off the boat with the help of one of the royal servants. Her dress was a light blue, it had sleeves that went off of the girls S/c shoulders. And a tightened middle piece at her abdomen, making her body appear with much more curve. And a heart shaped neckline that didn't dive too low, as to keep modesty. It was long, with layers at the bottom of silk. She didn't have many Jewels decorations her skin except for a thin white gold necklace with what looked like a few pearls strung on it.

She was breathtaking in all honesty, both the boys became a little more nervous but what was most shocking, for all three of them was that in her other arm, she held tightly what looked like a white little dire-wolf, no older than a few months from the looks of it. Two men stepped off the boat holding a large blue chest with the sigil of a stark wolf. When the girl met eyes with the three royals, she immediately smiled and held her dress up with her free arm, making her way down the docs as they creaked beneath her feet. Stopping in front of the three.

She paused for a moment with a closed mouth smile as she made eye contact with all three of them, but her eyes paused on Luke for a little longer than the rest.. his did the same.. but she broke the eye contact soon after and curtseyed in front of Rhaenyra. "My princess, thank for for letting me stay here for the few weeks to come. It is a great honor for me and for my family." Her bright eyes closed for a moment before re opening. Rhaenyra only smiled in response. Her purple eyes darting back and fourth between the girl and her pup in arms.

She let out a small laugh. "This is my first born son Jacerys Velaryon" she ushered to her boy as the Lady's eyes went to him as-well.Luke shifted a bit and watched the girls movements eagerly. "My Prince.." She curtseyed in front of Jacerys with a kind smile. He put one arm behind his back and with his other lifted her free hand, placing a kiss on her skin for only a second before letting it down. The lady smiled at this and gave him a nod to which he returned.

"And my second born, Lucerys Valaryon" she did the same motion towards the other boy, who impatiently chewed at his lip and watched the girl. She turned her head quickly towards the boy and gave him a small giggle at the way he was behaving. She moved closer to him and curtseyed as well. "My prince, I've read many books of Driftmark" she said to the nervous boy with welcoming eyes. He shakily lifted her hand to his lips and placed a kiss on it, never breaking eye contact with the girl as she tilted her head a bit smiling. "All good, I hope" she nodded in response and brightened up. "Yes of course, I hoped to visit Driftmark as well one day, I wore pearls to .. uh" her face grew a bit rosy as her eyes shifted all around. The boy still held her hand close to his face as he waited for her to speak.

"To honor the name you've been given much often, the pearl of Driftmark" Luke's face grew a brighter red as well as he  let her hand down slowly  and gave the stark a Nervous smile. His mother laughed a bit at the use of the nickname. "I'll have you visit sometime then my Lady" she giggled in response as Rhaenyra let out a quiet cough. "We weren't made aware that you'd be bringing a um.. Wolf with you on your stay here" she spoke slowly and nervously. The girl perked up and turned to look at the princess, still close in front of Luke. "Oh! She's young, and very tame I assure you. Silk  is her name. I promise you she won't be any bother at all, she's only here to make me feel a bit more secure, I get home sick quite easy" the Stark responded back.

Rhaenyra only nodded with a hum. "That's alright then, I'll have the servants bring your chest up to your chambers, my boys? Will you please escort lady Stark to the castle?" Rhaenyra folded her hands together as she looked back and fourth between her children who only nodded in response. Jace turned on his heels almost immediately but Luke nervously offered out his arm for the girl to take, trying to make her feel as comfortable as possible, and of course this is how his mother taught him to treat Highborn lady's. He was shocked his brother didn't immediately do the same, his head must of been elsewhere.

She gave the boy a smile and wrapped her arms around his own. all three of them began walking in sync up the hills of dragonstone, following a path. "Mother told us your here to write your poetry? Are you a bard?" Jace was the first one to begin conversation. The girl turned a bit red at the mention of her interests. "Oh gods, not necessarily. My poetry is more of a hobby than a profession. But yes I am here for that among other things. Im also here for my art, my brother hoped me to be inspired in a new place! And uh.. possibly,, get some art of a dragon?" The stark said the last bit more like a question.

Both the boys made eye contact with her and looked a bit nervous, the dragons weren't always friendly with new people, especially Jace's. Luke lifted a hand onto her arm that held onto him and gave it a gentle squeeze. "I'll be sure to Ask my mother if that would be alright. Arrax is quite the calm dragon after a bit if you'd wish to paint him" he said in a quieted down voice, he was quite obviously anxious at his interactions with her. But she didn't mind. Found it more cute than anything else.

"That would be perfect Lucery's!" She gave him a squeeze on the arm in return as she locked eyes with the boy. "Of course my Lady". "Oh, you both can call me Y/n, we will be spending much time together in the days following so it only seems right" she was sweet when she spoke to them, almost alarmingly friendly. The boys both nodded in return as the group approached the gates of dragon stone. Y/n was gawking at the looks of it all and was quite un still in the hold of Luke. She was nearly pulling him around looking at all the stone details up close. It smelled strongly of rain she noted.

"Here we are Lady Star-" Jace began but was cut off "just Y/n please" She gave him a pleading smile. He paused for a moment before beginning again. "Yes, we'll, here we are Y/n, I have to go to my Valyrian Lessons with the maesters now but we will be seeing eachother soon enough later in the day." He said it politely but you could tell he was trying to get out of there. He gave a small bow before rushing off just as quickly as he spoke, into the castle.

Leaving the air a little more tense in his leave, "Uhm, I can escort you to your rooms if you'd wish?" Luke chirped up, reminding the girl of his presence right beside her. She turned her head and locked eyes with the boy once again. Hazel ones staring right back into hers. She gave him a nod as they both began walking in sync once again.

Y/n was looking all over the castle as the two of them walked. Always the first to initiate the small talk as they both giggled at jokes along the halls. "We are the same age correct?" She asks him. Luke nods back. He was feeling more comfortable around her now after witnessing her personality. But still the tiniest bit nervous, she knew.

She let out hums as they continued through the castle. He listened to them, letting her voice flood his ears sweetly. The pair would often pause in the halls as the girl payed close attention to all the details on the walls.

"Did you need not go to the Valyrian lessons as well?" She asked him curiously. He laughed in response, more confidently now. "No, I've grown up around my mother and step father since I was younger than Jace, so it came easier for me. I'm quite well at it from what the maesters say, and from what mother tells me at-least.." The girl stopped in her tracks and took hold of both the boys hands. "Say something for me" she looked at him eagerly almost bouncing in her place.

Luke turned a shade of red and made eye contact with the girl. Thinking for a moment. "Nyke olvie biare naejot sagon rūsīr ao isse bisa jēda..." He said the words with a brighter toothy smile, sure the girl wouldn't understand him Anyways. But even without knowing what he said, she was absolutely beaming with joy at the moment. "That was good!! You say it so fluently. You should teach me one day" she giggled teasingly and gave him a slight nudge.

He laughed back breathlessly in response as she took hold on his arm once more. "I would love to, though I'm not completely fluent yet, I still do lessons with the maesters, I just don't need them as desperately as my brother." He was obviously proud of being able to outshine in brother in one thing, his posture becoming more straightened and his tone ever more louder. The Stark girl smiled at this. She definitely had her preference over the Brothers already.

But sadly their conversations came to a stop when they approached her chamber doors. The boys posture slouching over a bit as his eyebrows furrowed. "Here we are" he spoke to her, his voice almost sad. She took notice of it and held tightly onto his arm. "Come in with me?" She asked him sweetly. Not thinking much of it. But his face blushed up bright as a tomato. "I'm not sure how my mother and father would feel about that- I don't think it's quite proper for us to be alone in a bedroom together" the girl ignored him and peered inside the door. Her chest was already there, as was her pup. She didn't quite remember when but she must have handed him over to a servant while walking to take to her chambers while she and the boy talked.

"All my stuffs in here already, I doubt anyone will walk in?" She looked at the boy once more. He seemed hesitant but he looked like he was really considering it. "Please?"

He walked into the room with her the moment she said that, face still bright and his movements more shaky than before. He felt butterfly's in his stomach at the interaction. She let go of his arm as she closed the door behind them both. Clicking the lock into place and rushing over to her pup. "Lucery's, come here pleasee" at her words the boy walked over to them both quite awkwardly. He looked at the wolf nervously as the pup stood up and eyed him. "She's quite pretty" he spoke softly, still not touching the pup.

Y/n turned and looked him at him with a joking grin "not as pretty as you, my prince~" she almost cooed to him before turning back to pet her wolf. Luke inhaled sharply and folded his hands together tightly. His movements stiff as he let the girls words cloud his mind. His nervousness made the air grow a bit more heavy. The girl picked up her wolf and placed her on the bed, turning back to Luke with an apologetic smile. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to force you into here if it wasn't of your wishes, I just didn't want our time together to end quite yet." She placed a hand on top of his and tilted her head.

"No no it's okay, I didn't want our time to end together yet either, I'm only nervous of what my mother would say-" he responded quickly. She nodded at him and lead him to the door. "Well, I hope you'll get me for dinner? Don't tell him but I do much prefer your company over your brothers~" the brunette laughed at her small poking to his elder brother.
