Mars in Taurus notes pt1
More romance focused for our stoner placement here.
Very much into slow burn.
They love physical touch. They’ll enjoy every single moment of touch you get with them (hitting their shoulder when you laugh, accidentally brush past them)
Not huge flirters: While they might not be smooth talkers like our geminis or libras, their flirtation might be more physical (light touches, closeness) or based on acts of service.
They show interest by making time for you, sharing comfort, or even food. They’ll make sure you’re well fed and this can be actually a way of bonding for them (trying new cuisine with you) or just eating your fav comfort foods and putting on a movie. They enjoy your presence.
One big way to figure out if these people like you is look at their overindulgence. These people will usually overindulge in something and when they like you, they’ll try to figure yours out. For example, if you like a certain snack, they might buy it in bulk. OR when y’all have sex, they’ll know exactly how to make you feel good and do it over and over.
Slow n subtle: Mars in taurus mfs take their time. They won’t rush into anything, especially romantic pursuits. If they’re interested, they’ll show it through consistency, not bold declarations.
They value stability: They're drawn to people who make them feel safe, grounded, and calm. Chaos, mind games, or emotional intensity (especially early on) can turn them off.
Off topic but I've seen these people have a love for animals. They are kind to them and even feel protective of them. Might have a lot of pets.
 How to Impress Them
SMELL GOOD. this is their biggest weakness imo.
Have an appreciation for nature, go out for walks.
Be patient: If you try to rush things, they might shut down. They appreciate the slowness.
Engage their senses: Make them a music playlist or see theirs. It’s incredibly intimate to see someone’s music taste. Mars in Taurus is sensual and notices comfort and beauty.
Foreplay is big for them. Take your time with them, taking in each moment. Touch every part of their skin type of thing.
Praise them. Let them hear how good they’re making you feel / how good they feel.
Hugs, massages, rubbing the yk what
Food play?? Have some whip cream on you, lol jkjk
These people can sometimes release their stress through sex.
Their neck is their sensitive part, any form of touch in general is a nice starter. I've had some friends tell me they enjoy dry humping (yall are HORNY) Oh, and did I say smell good?
Can be vanilla unless they have a scorpio moon or some aries / sag placement. Pay attention to their other placements too. I’d say fire and air might make them more spontaneous while earth and water will keep them more vanilla.
Quickest way to turn them off is lack of consistency: If you’re hot one minute and cold the next, it confuses and repels them.
More random notes
More athletic side of them might love wrestling, weightlifting, kettlebell exercises? yoga, and boxing.
Hobbies can be very hands on, pottery / ceramics, painting or sketching, woodworking, building shit in general.
Hunting or hiking. Lumberjack vibes.
One of my friends with this placement was so hard to read. She was the calmest when she was upset with me to the point where I didn't even realize. These people can hold grudges for life. But also can be very forgiving.
Very territorial of their belongings.

Time for a Check Up!
Hello! How are you doing today? Have you taken care of yourself/your system lately? We’d like to ask you some questions to help you check in with your body, mind, and headmates! This list of questions is not exhaustive - there may be some things we’re missing that are important when it comes to managing your self care. This is just something to get you started if you’re feeling stressed, overwhelmed, or just Bad and need some direction to figure out what’s been bothering you lately.
Physical Health Check Up!
Nourishment: When did you last eat? What did you have for your most recent meal? Have you eaten any fruits or vegetables lately? How about something substantial, like grains, rice, potatoes, or pasta? Or something with protein, like eggs, meat, or legumes? Do you normally take a multivitamin? If so, have you taken one today?
Hydration: When did you last have something to drink? When did you last drink water? Do you have a water bottle or beverage nearby that you can sip from regularly? If you don’t like water or can’t drink it for any reason, how about some milk, juice, coffee, or tea? Any liquids are better than none at all!
Rest: Have you been getting enough sleep lately? Does your sleeping space have everything you need in order to get proper rest? Do you need: a security blanket/plushie, a night light, an air purifier/humidifier, a white noise maker, an extra pillow, a water bottle nearby, or anything else in order to ensure your sleep is restful at night? Are you tired, groggy, or exhausted right now? Can you take a brief, 15-20 minute nap? Can you lie still and close your eyes for a while?
Physical Exercise: When was the last time you got your heart rate up? Is there an exercise you enjoy that you can do occasionally? When have you last stretched your muscles - your hands and wrists, arms, neck, back, feet, and legs? Every body is different, but almost everyone can benefit from regular exercise, even if it’s light! How about taking a walk, doing some squats or sit-ups, lifting some light weights, playing a game or sport outside, or going for a swim?
Mental Health Check Up!
Medical (this could be physical too): Did you take your meds today? Do you need to refill your pills box/dispenser? Do you need to refill any of your prescriptions? Are you keeping track of any upcoming doctor’s appointments?
Mental Exercise: Have you solved any problems/exercised your brain lately? When was the last time you built a puzzle, solved a math problem, or played a word game, sudoku, spot the difference, or other sort of mind-strengthening game? When was the last time you tried to learn something new? Have you had any meaningful discussions, read any interesting books or articles, or used critical thinking lately?
Leisure: When was the last time you did something you enjoy, just for yourself? Have you checked for tension in your body and relaxed your muscles lately? When was the last time you treated yourself with something tasty? Have you listened to some music you love recently? When was the last time you cuddled a pet or plushie, watched a calming/silly show or movie, played a low-effort video game, or done something to decompress and have fun?
Self-Expression: Have you done anything creative lately? Have you recently tried to express your thoughts, feelings, and ideas somehow? When was the last time you journaled? When was the last time you wrote stories or poetry, drawn, sketched, or painted, worked with modeling clay, made a collage, or experimented with another art form? When was the last time you created art just for you or your system, and not for others?
Cleanliness Check Up!
Mouth Hygiene: Have you brushed your teeth today? When you brush your teeth, are you getting your molars, the backs of your teeth, your gums, and tongue? If your toothpaste/toothbrush causes sensory issues, have you tried children’s toothpaste, fruit-flavored toothpaste, and a soft-bristled toothbrush? Have you flossed today? Do you need to use a WaterPik/water flosser or a plastic floss pick to help you floss? When was the last time you used mouth wash? If your teeth are sensitive, do you need special toothpaste to help rebuild enamel?
Body Hygiene: When was the last time you bathed? Do you need a shower chair, bath floor grips, or another accessibility tool to make bathing easier for you? If bathing is difficult, do you have wet wipes handy to help clean under your arms, your groin, and in between folds of skin? When was the last time you washed your face or brushed your hair? When was the last time you trimmed your fingernails and toenails? When was the last time you cleaned your ears? Do you need to change into some clean clothes? Even just a fresh pair of underwear can help a lot!
Living Space: When was the last time you tidied your bedroom, kitchen, bathroom, or other living spaces? Have you checked your house for stray dirty dishes lately? When was the last time you swept or vacuumed your floors, scrubbed your sinks, dusted, or wiped down your countertops? When was the last time you washed your clothes or bedsheets? Can you think of any accessibility tools that might make maintaining your living space easier? Have you considered making a chore schedule to balance out housework throughout the week? Living in a clean home can help improve your mental health and boost your mood!
Relationship Health Check Up!
Inside: How recently have you checked in with your headmates? Is there a member of your system who is struggling more than the rest who you can try to connect with? What have you done lately to help build your relationships and strengthen your bonds with your system members? Have you done anything nice for your headmates lately without expecting anything in return? Have you had any conversations with your headmates one-on-one lately? When was the last time you tried to get to know the different members of your system? When was the last time you communicated your needs to your headmates, and tried to learn their needs as well?
Outside: When was the last time you spoke to your friends and family? Is there anyone you care about who you don’t live with who could use a text or phone call? Have you recently had a good conversation with someone in your life? Have you shared something with a loved one lately? Have you told someone in your life how you’ve been doing lately, or asked how they’ve been doing as well? Have you been communicating your needs and expressing yourself to your friends, partners, family members, or caregivers? Have you let someone in your life know that you love and appreciate them lately?
Wrapping up!
Remember, when it comes to self-care, every little bit helps! It’s better to do something small and simple to take care of yourself, your body, or your system than nothing at all. We hope this post is useful to some of y’all, especially others like us who might struggle to know how to take proper care of ourselves!
Please try to treat yourself and your headmates with gentle kindness today, and remember that it’s okay to not be okay! It’s okay to struggle, and it’s okay to have difficulties with practicing self-care. We just wanted to check in with some questions you can ask yourself to make sure you’ve been meeting your needs. But even if you can’t meet all your needs, we hope that you can do something small to help yourself feel better!
As always, thanks so much for reading, and take care!

Some replies about us, about latest drawings, about twst in general and about other stuff.
I also added some new high resolution pngs of recent drawings on our Ko-Fi shop in case you want them… 👀
Anonymous asked:
I went to go check on your second account today (I was on a trip recently and wasn't checking twitter). But I couldn't find it? Was it nuked?
Yeah, but it’s back now! Fortunately…
Anonymous asked:
long time lurker, first time asker here bc OMG 14 YEARS?? CONGRATS!!! MAY YOU TWO HAVE MANY MORE 🥳
Awwhhh thank you so much, Anon!! <3 This is very sweet!
Anonymous asked:
14 years?! Tbh it feels so weird knowing people on the site are in relationships and such. It always feels like everyone here is just depressed single 20-somethings screaming about fandoms at each other all the time HAHAHA
I wish the both of you nothing but the absolute best!!! Seeing the both of you keep unabashedly being you even in the face of hate and shitty antis and whatnot just helps me so much with my own courage. I used to be a huge people pleaser, and it’s been so refreshing to instead ignore all the nasty people out there and just be my own problematic shipping self! I’m sure it’s the same for many others as well!
Of course, I can’t go on without mentioning your absolutely delicious art! They’re so gorgeous I’m always super excited whenever you upload! You really knocked it out of the park with the recent Sebek/Jamil piece. I’m frothing at the mouth seeing Jamil’s dark expression!!!
Also please give Mila lots of pats for me. She’s super cute and I love her face <3
I get it, Anon lol To be honest, I feel like if I weren’t lucky enough to meet Katsu, I would’ve been single as well. Maybe Katsu would too.
Thank you so much for your kind words!! I am super happy to hear that the way we deal with these issues help you out as well in a way. I say it a lot, but I can’t stress it enough: I really want people to be self-indulgent when it comes to fandoms and art… please, keep enjoying stuff that you like! <3
And thank you for enjoying my art, especially that Sebek/Jamil one! It’s funny because it was one of the sketches that I didn’t like too much initially, but Katsu did, so I worked on it a little bit, fixed some stuff, and ended up liking it as well. So it’s extra nice to hear that it ended up being a good drawing.
(Mila got both pets AND smooches with the words “this is from our tumblr Anon”.)
eh-nonnie-mouse asked:
About your new Halloween illustration: Sebek looks like he's trying so hard to look cool in front of his Malleus-sama where Jamil is exuding cool guy mafia vibes.
About the Actual Kitty Shroud Brothers: ASTAJSKSINDHH ♥️♥️♥️♥️ OMG SO CUDDLY CUTE AND PAWSSS *ahem* I love how you can clearly tell which is which and the personality between each one.
Jamil is just so effortless! He is way to cool… Poor Sebek gotta try harder lol He really wants to be the coolest and most handsome gent around.
And THANK YOU SO MUCH I’m so happy you liked the kitties!! I want to draw more kitties now… 🥹
Anonymous asked:
"(gym teacher/badly performing student)"
Gee, I wonder who
(related to a reply about Vargas being a top)
Hmmm, could it be a certain third year that was forced to do punishment exercises during the Vargas Camp? Who knows…
Anonymous asked:
Curious if you've ever thought of it. Have you ever considered a Human or Beastman! Grim?  Top or Bottom? Who would fit him the best out of the cast?
Good question, Anon!
Ironically, I find it kind of difficult to imagine Grim as a human or a beastman, and whenever I try, I imagine something similar to his animal form – a hungry little gremlin lol I should draw his humanised form at least once!!
He’d probably be a bottom. The type that acts big and cool but in actuality just wants to be coddled and cuddled. The type that does something stupid and reckless and then looks down all guilty and mumbles that he’s sorry. He’s also an “ore-sama” type of character, and for some reason we tend to see those as bottoms, so I guess that tracks lol
As for the ship, I don’t really know… maybe Ace? Or Yuu since he is the one that ends up taking care of this animal lol But also Stitch because why not.
Anonymous asked:
Have you ever watched spy x family? It might not sound interesting with how family friendly is but I have a feeling you could like the main male lead and his bratty dark haired brother-in-law
Unfortunately, Anon, it’s a bit too straight and family-focused for us; I doubt we’ll be able to push through the main characters’ dynamic and story :(
Still, thank you for your recommendation!
Anonymous asked:
Are you interested in romance games? If so you should check Touchstarved, good world-building set in an post apocalyptic medieval era, the love interests are eye catching and if creating a oc to ship with is not your cup of tea the guys dynamics between each other have a lot of shipping potential~ (two are exes/fuck-buds/situationship)
I think I heard about it, but never really dived deeper into it. We’re not suuuper interested in romance games, but it looks interesting! We’ll keep it in mind :)
Thank you for your recommendation!

Do you have any head cannons for Alfred, Alear, Etie, and Veyle?
Thank you for the ask! :)
Alear:
Has a massive scar where Sombron fatally wounded her, it occasionally still twinges, particularly when she’s stressed
Likes almost every food under the sun. She's not the biggest fan of meat for breakfast, but aside from that, she isn't fussed. She loves practically everything.
She sometimes has nice dreams about children playing with her, or a sweet woman talking to her. These are vague half-heard things from her time asleep, like Queen Eve keeping her company when Lumera wasn't able to, or Alfred playing make-believe beside her bed when he was too poorly to go outside.
She never fully understands why the corrupted scare her so much.
Is the biggest sommie lover ever. She’s the sort of person to carry round photos of him and show them to everyone and then herself. She loves Sommie. So. Much.
Sleeps with Sommie on her bed when she’s frightened, or feels like she’s going to have nightmares
She hates cooking but can. Like. Sort of. It’s bland and kind of meh, but at least it’s not what Alfred cooks.
Sleepy. Always sleepy. Just a very tired bean.
Only exercises and trains out of necessity, if she had it her way, she would do less of it. She is not the biggest exercise fan
Slowly gains a few more memories after the war ends
The nightmares she gets are mainly memories that she repressed or half-forgot
Enjoys playing with Veyle’s hair. She sometimes does haircare days with Seadall, Celine, and Veyle.
She hated her red hair at first, but tries to start liking it, after Veyle mentioned struggling with accepting her Fell heritage.
Plays the piano and sings well, that and polishing weapons and jewellery are some of her favourite hobbies
If she was in a modern au she would be a bit of a gamer
Alfred:
Literally a menace of a brother. Has stolen Celine’s makeup, hair kit, and perfume before, but also buys her the best teas ever so, she doesn’t complain (too much!)
When he was sick as a child he cuddled Sommie a lot (because his family visited the Somniel and Lumera was a family friend)
Very fussy eater, he only eats ‘healthy’ food, and also crepes on occasion. He does like crepes.
The WORST cook ever. Absolutely disgusting. 0/10 never let him cook
Picked up the flute to strengthen his lung capacity, and has become rather good at playing
He didn’t have many friends as a child, because he spent long stretches of it bed ridden, so he would play imagination games with Alear the Dragon princess, and Alfred the cool-and-strong prince. Most of them involved playing tag together but sometimes he would imagine them battling against evil armies (there was always a bad wizard who caused sicknesses in those)
As a child he needed mobility aids, and particularly liked his wheel-chair (which he used with a hobby-horse sometimes) and later in life, when he had attacks of his illness, he had to use mobility aids again
Like the Pinterest of the Somniel. If Rosado is ever art-blocked he’ll just go and sketch Alfred
He’s canonically a very handsome guy (Sharina’s intro etc) but he’s fairly oblivious to it.
With such muscular retainers, and people like Seadall around, he can sometimes feel quite insecure
Etie:
Buff as heck. I don’t care about the character model. She’s ripped
Quite intense as a gym friend. She and Alfred sometimes egg each other on too much, and Boucheron has to step in to make sure they don’t hurt themselves via overexercising
She has given Alfred food poisoning before with one of her ‘muscle stimulants’
Can jog for longer than Alfred. He is very jealous.
She can almost lift the same weight as Boucheron, if she really pushes herself, and is working up to beating him in deadlifts
Veyle:
She keeps pieces of Alear’s dragon stone with her always, and eventually makes some of them into two rings, so she and Alear can always be connected
Her spice tolerance is higher than anyone in the army
She doesn’t like milk or cream that much
She needs her hair trimmed a lot, but mainly the black bits. She gets a lot of split ends.
She really likes swimming, and is regularly at the pool
Plays tactical RPGs with Robin and Lucina’s emblems.
Sometimes imagines what life would have been like growing up with Lumera as her mother and Alear as her big sister.

I wanna start drawing so I can make fanart of my favorite characters lmao. But I’m not sure where to start. Any tips?
Getting into drawing is really just about diving right in. Try different things with your fave characters and experiment around to figure out what you like. You may be the type of artist who enjoys drawing studies with their fave characters. Nothing you start or finish with has to be extravagant, little doodles and sketches do just fine.
*Don't stress about not getting the drawing right the first time. You can always come back to it later, and you'll improve with time if you keep at it
*Take breaks
*Do hand exercises, exercise/move around every now and then in general–drawing for a long time in a day can be very taxing on the body (super important)
*Have fun! (also super important)

Hey, it's me againnn! Soo I was wondering, do you do any drawing exercises to improve?? Like any perspective or foreshortening practice? Or just practicing with drawing poses? If so, can you tell me what you do? I seriously need to get better at drawing the anatomy properly. Also, I'm changing my art style yet again and I'm looking for advice :) Thanks <3
Also, I was very proud of what you did with the prompts I sent you. It wasn't what I was expecting from that prompt at all. It was better.
Firstly, thanks for the kind words <333 This is gonna be a ramble but I hope it helps!
Honestly the way I improve the most is just drawing something I know I can't at least once. Like here's some pics where I push my perspective little by little.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
They don't always look right so I usually don't finish them but! I draw it once and can easily see what I don't understand about the perspective. From there I usually try to draw it again with a reference cause now I know what I need to look for in the reference, like which shapes or 3d forms go into the thing I'm drawing.
This applies to any concept you struggle to draw btw! Perspective, body types, face shapes, muscles, an animal you've never drawn before. You don't always have to go right back into with a reference handy either- especially since sometimes it's hard to find that exact pose or reference. What I've been doing is just watching my animated media and I tend to take note of how they drew the thing I struggled with. Because I struggled with it, it's a lot easier to notice when they do it my show or comic. Like when someone tells you how hotdogs are made so know you think about it every time you see one.
Well that's the general advice but for more specific things like this one I drew for my friend I simply couldn't fathom how to draw the pose so I used a 3d poser and worked out the shapes.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Just in general I also try to sketch out random poses to hopefully improve my anatomy. Doesn't have but anything elaborate as long as you're understanding the form. Sometimes limbs make no sense so it's good to glance at muscle anatomy. (I use AdoraSketch's website and MagicPoser on iOS.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But I cannot stress enough, I do this all causally. My progress is been limb by limb. I learn to draw a specific muscle in the arm, learn to draw the jawline from an upward perspective, etc. Typing it all out makes it feel like an art class final but most improvement is subconscious. Probably my biggest advice is to keep drawing what you love. I still can't draw beefy men but my love of Nightwing keeps me crawling back every year or so. Also Laios from Dungeon Meshi. I would not bother half the time if I didn't want to draw my blorbos doing funny stuff.

Tips and Tricks For Beginner Artists
I want to preface this by saying two things. Or maybe couple more.
One: This is my first ever blog post that I have written. There will be mistakes. I am still figuring out Tumblr Blogs. Deal with me. Thank you <3
Two: I am by no means a professional artist. I am still a student. I have been doing art for little over three years now and I am writing these to share my experiences as an artist that is self-taught. Also because I struggle with the mental aspect of art. I want to share and help people that are where I once was. I wish I had found somebody to give more personal, down to the bits advice to get me into the world of digital art. I am writing about what worked for me and how I did certain things. Enjoy.
(I am largely a digital artist. This is centered around digital mediums and methods. )
This blog post will be more helpful for people that are self-teaching and just starting art.
Regardless of why you want to do art, you need adequate tools to do it.
My first and current graphic tablet is One By Wacom in Small (ought to be replaced soon). I still use it and it serves just fine. It has no buttons on it, plain design. Wacom has excellent support and works smoothly. It was also a good budget decision. If you have a tablet that comes with a pen, work on that. Keep in mind, if you are intently buying a graphic pad or a tablet for purpose of art, buy something that you won't regret too much if art doesn't work out for you and it ends up collecting dust. It is easy to upgrade once your needs require it. Research what graphic tablets are out there and what would work best for you. There is a wild variety to choose from.
Now to the art program. Finding an art program to start on is not at all hard now. There are so many, each with its own quirk. I used Krita since forever. It is very professional, much like Photoshop but also easy for a beginner to grasp. And entirely free. Find an art program that you are comfortable in. Procreate, MediBang, Clip Studio Paint, Paint Tool SAI, Photoshop are only some of the choices.
Possibly in another post I will get more into Krita and how I use it as I am very fond of it.
Set Up Your Canvas
Here I am not going to go way too much into depth on this as it can vary greatly depending on what tools you use and what program but I want to stress the importance of having a workspace that works with you, not against you. Some of the best tips I have gotten for this are:
Set your canvas to a a medium gray color, somewhere in the middle of the gray value scale. Looking at a plain white canvas is daunting and quite inconvenient when you're starting off.
Pick your resolution. Usual choice is 300 dot per inch (DPI). Size of your canvas depends on your screen/machine/program. I usually go between 2000-2500 as my PC is past its prime and doesn't handle things well without sounding like a rocket about to take off. Research what your machine can do without lag.
I will give more advice on using brushes in another post but just going to say, using plain black color is usually bad idea. At least it was for me. It amplifies mistakes and leaves little room for fixing. Instead, try using a gray color somewhere between black and your canvas color. Medium value blue and red also work fine as sketch colors.
Start Comfortably
There is no point looking at all the masterpieces that ArtStation and Instagram has to offer and setting it as your short-term goal. A biggest downfall you can have is from starting too big.
Instead, focus of doing small things. Sketch a lot. Sketch basic shapes. And draw what you love. Art is a craft of heart, at least for me. Detaching yourself from that will make art will like a chore, a cold labor that you do not enjoy.
Ahem. Anyway.
One of the best exercises I have found is to just draw lines. This you can do on paper too as it is an excellent way to warm up. Try to make a straight line. Go not too fast nor slow. Make as many as you need until you get it straight. Do the same for circles. Make them as round as you can. Your hand is the biggest trickster. It does not cooperate with your mind as well as you want it to.
Sketch, sketch sketch, get yourself comfortable with it. Everyone does sketches, one way or another. Of course, you are free to try an entire piece but it can be very discouraging when it turns out nothing like you expected it to be.
I will make a post just on the ways you can practice as a beginner.
Find Inspiration
The biggest foe of artists is lack of inspiration and an artists block. I know it was mine. Finding inspiration is way easier when you are starting off as you often want to draw everything. There are plenty of places where you can get inspiration on what to draw. Pinterest in my all time favourite. You can also look at Instagram, ArtStation, your favourite shows, camera roll, world outside. Jot down what you want to draw when you get an idea and save it for later.
Find Artists You Love
This goes for everyone, but especially if you want to get into business of art. Having artists that inspire you and whose art you enjoy seeing is a must. It feeds your creativity and helps you develop your art style in the long run.
Don't compare yourself to other artists
Often, artists you see that get most views and likes have been in it for years. Do not go into art expecting that it will look perfect right away. Art takes time. A lot of it, often. Those artists whose works seem perfect have spent countless hours on sketches, studies, classes, lessons. Stressing over why your art is not good at the very start will not allow you to move on and better. Instead, appreciate and enjoy little what you created. Everyone's art journey is different and what matters is the road, not the destination
You don't have to be a natural
I never was exceptionally good at art growing up I did have an affinity for all things creative—I had passion for it, but my skills weren't out there. Majority of artists aren't naturals. In my opinion, passion and will is more important than natural skill set. Skills can be taught but without passion and will to learn, you won't get anywhere in art.
Your journey is unique
Everyone learns things at a different pace. What works for somebody, might not work for you. We all have different minds.. That is why everyone's art journey is so unique and interesting. When I started off, I was doing things exactly as I saw others do them and it resulted in frustrations because it wasn't turning out the way I imagined it would. Beginners are inclined towards this and that's alright. But it is important to realize that there is no law out there on how you have to learn the craft. Do it in a way that is most comfortable.
For example, I have quite an attention deficit. I cannot focus on a subject for longer than 15 minutes tops. So watching hour long lessons on Youtube or reading books on the subject didn't cut it for me. I either broke it up into smaller bits and only took what I needed in the moment or looked for compact, one-slide lessons, usually with examples, to tackle a subject. Rather than being told what to do, I needed to be shown how to do it. This might not be a good way for somebody, it really depends and comes down to you. You know yourself the best.
Now for the more practical tips
Outlining
This might be a controversial one out there, but I was never a strong believer in outlining. While it can be fun and it is helpful in beginning stages, it eventually stunts your growth. Instead of simply just outlining, look at how the things work and why does it look the way it does. Break down shapes and study them. Of course, there are instances where it does help to do it and I am not saying that you shouldn't do it, I just never did it. In my opinion, training your hand and mind to follow references is much better way to study and improve.
Use References
Do it. The best of artists use them or have used them for a large portion of their art journey. Do not see reference images as a cheat for artists. Drawing from mind is difficult and not something I would suggest to somebody starting off. Instead, find several references—for poses, shapes, color palette. The more references you have, more you will learn. I use Pinterest for this mostly. As I get can very easily distracted, I usually prepare them couple of hours in advance or a whole day before and store them so I can use them in the future whenever I need.
Don't just look at at the image and completely try to mirror it. Improvise. That's how you learn. Study it. Draw over the reference and then draw next to it. Do it as many times as you want and do it on several references. Sometimes it is enough to do reference thumbnails to effectively improve your art for the day.
Learn from Other Artists
I will make a special post on what artists I watched and learned from and how the self-teaching process looks for me. Regardless of how you study art (art school or not), it is important to find as many resources and sources as you can. Do not focus too much on narrowing it down to a specific thing. Look for lectures on basics that will prepare you for any course you might want to take, especially if you are self-taught.
Practice. Practice. Practice.
This advice I got from listening to my favourite art podcast from Adam Duff LUCIDPIXUL and it gives you this comparison.
If you spend a year reading fitness magazines but never go to the gym, are you going to get fit? No.
Try to make a routine and set the time when you are free to draw. More you do it, faster you will progress and develop your skill. No matter how bad it looks to you, just draw. You don't even have to complete it. Just sit down and put something on the canvas or paper. If it doesn't work, store it and move on. You learned something and will be better next time. It only looks bad if you didn't draw anything.
I hope this tips got to you and that you find them as helpful as I did. Happy drawing!

The vibe I'm in right now --
📚 Currently reading: The Village: 400 Years of Beats and Bohemians, Radicals and Rogues - A History of Greenwich Village by John Strausbaugh

✅ What I've been doing lately: Working, applying for jobs, exercising, stressing about the future, maintaining my household chores, reading my book, listening to vinyl records, preparing for the upcoming economic collapse because the idiots in my country allowed a fascist regime to commit a coup and refuse to fight back like they should
💜 What I'd rather be doing: Sleeping, writing in my journal, making a doctor's appointment, reading my book, sitting in a cafe sketching in my journal, listening to vinyl records while working on my jigsaw puzzle, working at a more fulfilling job that pays me a better wage, organizing my home office, painting, going to see "Lights Out" on Broadway, preventing my country's freefall into fascism
🫠 What I should be doing: Cleaning my home, Trying to fix my home computer's storage problem & upgrade my OS and VPN, exercising more, shadow work, reading my book, writing a new blog post, creating clips of my work for my website, deep cleaning my apartment, organizing my home office, reviewing my finances, planning my frugal fun summer
👖What I'm wearing: Blue jeans, multicolored green, blue, and gold blouse, black blazer, purple and white polka dot socks, grey sneakers
😢 What keeps me up at night: My seemingly unending job search, my health, the political landscape and the impending war, financial stress
🥹 What I'm looking forward to: Getting my house in order through organization projects and deep cleaning, slowing down, harvesting my basil

Monthly Summary - November
To properly start November and my personal project, I first had to create a Statement of Intent to outline what I aimed to accomplish. For the commercial project, I decided to change my plans and not begin the year with two commercial projects, as there were no live briefs available at the time. I also didn’t want to work on a brief from the previous year, specifically the Penguin Design Award brief, as it wouldn’t serve much purpose beyond portfolio use. Instead, I chose to focus on the courses I had selected to start the year with. I wanted to create character-based illustrations that included environments, and for my commercial project, I opted to work on something related to a pop-up shop. It seemed like a quick and low-stress brief, making it a good choice.
During the first week, I started watching the course I had planned to take, beginning with one by the artist Gummy. One of the initial tasks was to create a mood board using various elements that could be combined into a single image or character. I decided to approach these mood boards with a focus on the overall picture, designing a character to fit the idea. I set a beach theme for my concept because, over the summer, I had been drawn to that aesthetic and couldn’t get over it. The idea of creating something like that in the future was exciting, especially since one of the courses I planned to take involved painting beach landscapes with gouache digital brushes. After assembling the mood boards, the next step was to fill out a template based on Type, Personality, and Likes to develop a character design around these elements. I also had to decide on an animal that would match the characteristics I envisioned. I imagined two friends—one could be a cat or a bunny, while the other could be a dog or a bear. In the end, I settled on a Cat and a Bear.
Tumblr media
In the second week, I continued working on characters for my future illustration. One of the course exercises involved designing eyes, eyebrows, and mouths in different styles and then combining them to create various character designs. I ended up creating six different characters unrelated to the Cat and Bear—just for practice. While they might be useful for future illustrations, for now, they remain simple exercises and sketches. After that, I focused on finalizing the Cat and Bear designs. I gathered reference images to establish the right look and mood for each character, then created their final designs with basic colors and a matching palette. The next step was to make a turnaround with different expressions to use as a reference for future illustrations. Near the end of the week, I decided to put in some extra work by watching lessons on color theory. Since I was already familiar with the concepts, I just enjoyed the process, practicing with an artist’s brushes while drawing cubes and spheres.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In the third week, I moved on to rendering practice, following the next lesson in the course. My first subject was a tangerine, which didn’t take long to complete and was surprisingly fun. As someone who had never done rendering before and thought it would be difficult, I was pleasantly surprised by how smoothly it went. Next, I followed a tutorial on drawing half an apple. Due to its shape, this took me two days to finish. Oddly enough, I found it harder than the tangerine but less interesting. I struggled with its form, which made it difficult to place light and shadow correctly. I also tried to avoid making it too complicated, keeping a painterly feel to the piece. After completing both the tangerine and apple, I felt ready to apply my knowledge to a simple character. I chose a Jelly Cat, thinking it would be an easy subject. However, by the end of the third week, I had only managed to complete half of it. The jelly-like form proved challenging, and I struggled to get the lighting and shadows right. Still, I didn’t want to give up and planned to finish it in the following week.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In the fourth week, I simplified the Jelly Cat’s shape into two spheres, which made the rendering process much easier. Afterwards I of course connected the two shapes to prevent them from looking like separate blobs, giving the character a more cohesive appearance. To enhance the fluidity of the design, I added small splash details around, making it feel more liquid-like rather than solid. I also incorporated stars inside the Jelly Cat but had trouble choosing the right blending mode to make them appear within the character rather than behind or on its surface. Eventually, I managed to achieve the effect and was pleased with the result. To finalize the piece, I added some subtle linework to better define the form. Since I had spent so much time on it, I decided to create simple sketches of the character and put together a reference sheet. I briefly considered incorporating the character into a t-shirt design but ultimately scrapped the idea.

it’s been a lot to think abt this year and i can’t even remember what i really had for last year. i remember telling blanche how i hoped i wouldn’t have to think abt them as much, and i’m not sure if i actually managed that goal. especially considering the last 3 months ended up being working on a massive document.
but i made improvement overall, despite and in spite of all the breakdowns. i faced it. i’ve been facing it. i genuinely looked at everything i could, all of it, and found myself to not be as abhorrent as they tried to make me.
i had an amazing tarot reading for the first time in person, and i really need to just keep moving. i’ve felt i’ve been making good progress with cleaning my room a lot these past days. i’m not ready yet for a lot of things but i’m not completely sitting still either.
i hope this year will bring more closure regarding xo and while i can always aim to have the most positive impact with the documents, i’m aware of how badly it can also go. and still, i want to believe. i’ve gone through every stage of grief enough to where i’m feeling confident that this isn’t from a place of revenge, but love. love for myself and standing up for myself, love for them in that the biggest callout of their actions. whether they listen or not. it’s my truth.
with that going forward, i want to have more love for life and in general. i’m extremely guarded for romantic love, but i do want to remain open to that as well if i feel i’m in a decent headspace and that i’m with someone who actually respects me and my boundaries.
for more resolutions: (i’ll probs edit this throughout the day, i’m sleepy rn)
1. love
2. take care of myself more!! on a super basic level. less forgetting dishes, doing more laundry (it’s been half of a mental block and outside energy), brushing and flossing upkeep.
3. eating better. a constant one i have. especially with my dire conditions lately
4. be better with filing things. probably also go through my files so it’s more organized.
5. exercise. it’s been a huge one lately, i still really want to work on flexibility. meditation also kinda falls under this
6. read and write more. work on my new journal!! and also add to old ones. sketch more. work on OCs
7. clean my room. regularly and also really revamp it with the furniture. let go of more, find things i rly want.
8. video game a bit more mindfully. take breaks, look away from screens (my eyes!), clear all the ultimates and finishing more achievements in ff. 80% at least by the end of the year? and start more new games!! but keep it more relaxing. raiding has been enough stress
9. gardennnnnnnnn ideally
10. light candles more!!! more baths. more self care to destress and really find out what destresses me. i’m not good with relaxing
11. animal rescue more. my heart. do more work and get better at talking with people
12. i wouldn’t say stream more but maybe more mindful. try to aim for some sort of schedule. put a lil more though into it
not rly sure what else rn, it’s like 2am lol

10 Creative Ways to Make the Most of Your Planner
Tumblr media
Planners have long been known for helping with scheduling and staying organized, but their potential extends far beyond simple to-do lists. Whether you're using a premium planner, daily planner, or customized journal, your planner can become a powerful tool for creativity, mindfulness, and personal growth. Here are 10 innovative ways to use your planner effectively.
1. Set Daily Goals
Start each day by writing down three achievable goals. This helps keep you focused and ensures you're prioritizing your tasks effectively. A daily planner with goal-setting sections can make this even easier.
2. Time Blocking for Better Productivity
Time blocking involves scheduling specific time slots in your planner for work, relaxation, and errands. It’s a great way to boost productivity and maintain a healthy work-life balance. With this method, you’ll stay organized without feeling overwhelmed.
3. Track Habits and Routines
Turn part of your planner into a habit tracker. Whether you’re trying to drink more water, exercise regularly, or practice mindfulness, tracking your habits can be incredibly motivating. Watching your progress grow over time helps you stay on track.
4. Doodle or Sketch Ideas
Planners aren’t just for writing; they’re also great for creativity. Use the margins or blank pages for doodling, sketching, or jotting down ideas. This can help relieve stress and stimulate your creativity. Customized journals with extra blank pages are perfect for this!
5. Keep a Gratitude Journal
Add a section to your planner where you can write down one thing you’re grateful for each day. It’s a simple habit that can boost your mental well-being and keep you focused on the positive aspects of your life.
6. Create a Vision Board
Why not transform a few pages in your planner into a vision board? Use photos, quotes, or magazine cutouts to visually represent your dreams and goals. Having a mini vision board within your planner keeps your aspirations front and center.
7. Track Your Budget and Expenses
A dedicated section for budgeting in your planner can help you manage your finances more effectively. Track your expenses and plan your budget to get a clearer view of your spending habits. This can also help you save money and stick to your financial goals.
8. Plan Your Meals
Simplify meal planning by listing your meals for the week in your planner. This not only saves time but also helps reduce food waste and ensures you eat healthier. It’s an easy way to stay organized in the kitchen.
9. Manage Projects
If you’re working on a big project, break it down into smaller tasks in your planner. Tracking progress step-by-step makes even the most overwhelming projects feel more manageable. This approach helps you stay on top of your goals without feeling stressed.
10. Record Memories
Your planner doesn’t just have to be about planning. Use it as a memory journal by writing down highlights from your day or adding photos and stickers. Over time, your planner will be filled with special moments and memories, making it a great keepsake.

A day in the life at an independent retirement home
Independent retirement homes provide seniors with a vibrant and fulfilling lifestyle. They offer various activities that promote physical and mental well-being, social interaction, and a sense of purpose. Let’s take a closer look at a typical day in a senior home and explore how residents enjoy a healthy and enjoyable lifestyle.
Starting the day with yoga and mindfulness
The day at a senior home often begins with calming yoga and meditation sessions. After a restful night’s sleep, residents wake up to a gentle routine that sets a positive tone for the day ahead. The yoga sessions are tailored to seniors, focusing on improving balance, flexibility, and overall health. These gentle exercises help enhance mobility and reduce the risk of falls, a common concern for older adults.
Beyond the physical benefits, yoga and meditation sessions help residents develop mindfulness and emotional stability. They encourage a state of relaxation and peace, reducing stress and anxiety. For many seniors, this morning routine becomes a cherished part of their day, offering a quiet space to reflect and prepare for the activities ahead.
A healthy and social breakfast experience
Following their morning exercise, residents gather in the communal dining area for breakfast. This is not just a meal but a social experience. Residents enjoy a nutritious and flavourful spread, often consisting of traditional favourites like fluffy idlis with sambar, poha, or dosa. Masala chai, fresh fruit, and yoghurt complete the meal, providing a balanced and satisfying start to the day.
Special dietary needs are catered to, ensuring everyone can enjoy a healthy and suitable meal. For many, this breakfast time is a chance to engage in conversation and connect with fellow residents.
Social interaction and friendships
After breakfast, common areas become lively gathering spots where residents chat and socialise. They discuss plans for the day, upcoming events, or reminisce about shared memories. This daily interaction is vital for maintaining mental and emotional well-being. It helps combat loneliness and fosters a sense of belonging.
Card and board games are popular choices for socialising. These games bring residents together for friendly competition and keep their minds sharp. Laughter and light-hearted banter fill the room, creating a vibrant and positive atmosphere.
A wholesome and relaxed lunch
As the morning draws to a close, residents gather for lunch. Lunch in a retirement community is a leisurely affair, offering another opportunity to socialise over a delicious meal. The menu typically includes a variety of dishes, catering to diverse tastes and dietary needs. Residents can enjoy a balanced meal, including rice, chapati, dal, and a selection of seasonal vegetables. Meals are freshly prepared with a focus on nutrition, using locally sourced ingredients. This ensures residents get the nutrients they need to stay healthy and active. Lunch is a relaxed time, allowing everyone to enjoy their food and each other’s company in a comfortable setting.
Afternoon rest and relaxation
After lunch, many residents take some time for a brief afternoon rest. They can return to their rooms for a short nap, read a book, or simply enjoy some quiet time. Some seniors choose to listen to calming music, or even watch their favourite TV programmes.
Lifelong learning opportunities for active minds
After a restful afternoon, many residents take part in educational activities. These include a diverse range of classes, such as basic computer skills to help them connect with loved ones online or explore the digital world. For those interested in creativity, there are art classes where residents can paint, sketch, or explore other artistic mediums. Workshops on Indian classical music allow them to appreciate or even learn to play traditional instruments, rekindling a passion for music. Religious lectures are also a popular choice.
Evening walks and exercises for well-being
As the day draws to a close, many residents step out for an evening walk. Retirement communities often feature well-maintained gardens, where seniors can enjoy a leisurely stroll. The fresh air and natural surroundings help residents unwind after a day filled with activities. For those who prefer a more structured routine, gyms are available. An instructor may help seniors with their fitness activities.
Dinner
As evening sets in, residents gather for dinner. The dining area is filled with lively conversation as residents share stories and enjoy each other’s company. After dinner, some residents might choose to stay and chat with friends over a cup of herbal tea, discussing the events of the day or planning activities for the following one. Others might retire to their rooms for some quiet time, a favourite book, or a late-night movie. For those who prefer a bit more activity, there may be a movie night or a musical performance organised in the community hall.
If you are planning to buy a retirement home in India, it's important to understand the daily routine and lifestyle the community offers. The best retirement homes in India aim to provide a fulfilling and balanced lifestyle for seniors. The routine is designed to ensure that residents have ample opportunities for physical activity, social engagement, and personal growth, while also allowing for relaxation and rest.

✨ Art Commissions Open w/ Writing Commissions Mentioned Too ✨
PLEASE READ AND MAKE SURE YOU FULLY UNDERSTAND BEFORE DOING ANYTHING ELSE HERE ON KY ACCOUNT PLEASE AND THANK YOU.
~
Hey everyone!
Tumblr media
Give me ten dollars and I'll draw you a profile pic of your OC or a favorite character of yours.
Give me twenty and I'll draw you your OC AND your favorite character together. Something basic like cheek to cheek, cheek kisses, side hugs, etc. Just depends.
OPEN BELOW FOR MORE IMPORTANT INFORMATION BELOW PLS! Also please answer the poll below the cut if you really want to help me out.
If you don't have the money please reblog, reblog, REBLOG!
It's August 5 as I'm making this so I'll keep this open until September, meaning until then anyone and everyone can send in their comms before I shut this post down and start over in September. Let's see how this goes, if we do a good job I'd love to do something like this every month just to draw for people.
Imma push myself so I'll open 15 spots to do these commissions. I think well for one, outside of the fact that I get to practice my art if people pick me I do actually enjoy talking to everyone. Especially fans.
Notes to Consider:
Artist who needs and wants money. Been talking about getting one of those at home treadmills and other home gym equipment so I can work on my body and get it back to the right shape I want it so it doesn't play with my head and trigger something
I'll do lineart, coloring, and shading for these of course. I only take Cashapp, Venmo, cash one, etc.
I plan on returning to school next year if my body is up to conditions by that time. To do that I really want this at home gym equipment stuff. I was even thinking that if I get it I can make another account and document my workouts. Probably will be on discord or things like a second Twitter for me but it depends on y'all.
Please be above 18 when commissioning me. I'll check your account for one...and for two these things can already be stressful, I don't need someone else's child being added to that.
Other art commissions are available, highest pricing is like $105 but I gotta check again. I'll link the post HERE.
I'll do 10-20 for chibis, 15 to 25 for sketching, 35 to 45 for lineart and basic coloring. 50 for regular shading and highlights, 60 for second line of lineart because going over it a second time is better for me but also looks neater. 75+ dollars include multiple (up to five sketches) of how I thought about drawing your character/s. For the $105 I'll give the sketches but they'll be lineart neatly, the time lapse videos for your main piece and the sketches after, shout-outs to you for working with me, a short blurb for your character and/or ship. I know with the art community some argue that we over price. This is literally the bare minimum especially with everything I'm going through between being immobile for the most part, living with trauma in a household where people gave me said trauma, being mentally unstable and even needing money to get that checked on. I would prefer $105 for the whole bundle I listed above. If you don't want to pay the $105 then you aren't paying for the bundle. So don't worry.
Outside of school I'm hoping I can join a more serious outside gym later to keep my body in shape. I have an interest in boxing and tai quando so I'd love to join a community for that around me. Same for some sports like tennis which I used to play when I was a lot younger. I love swimming so a swimming class could be fun and I've always been anxious about this but I'd love nothing more than to join a fun dance exercise group thingy.
Gotta keep my dog up to date, I've been talking about getting his next check up but disability bills go so far when you are helping others in your house to pay for things... I went from 802 to currently 200 in just a few days. Please help me out guys I'm begging. I've started a thing for piggy banking but I've never done it before so it definitely takes self discipline. I'm hoping that with the funds I make here I can just put the money in the piggy bank and open it by January...
Um if check ins are needed I don't mind give one every couple days to a week.
I have to pay for some stuff a sibling broke while I was sicker and couldn't keep things safe...I'd like to get those fixed or replaced but a few hundred dollars were lost there too..
I still do writing commissions as well. Check that post HERE.
Here's some art that I've done recently for reference of what you COULD get but with these the characters will probably be more chibi-ish compared to my normal style ^^`
MY ART VVV:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Some of these I'm sure I've posted before but I need more things to draw y'all! Outside of the money I really hope I get to practice my drawing skills some more..
DM me or comment if you are interested.
Also here's a poll to enforce engagement ^^`
I'm serious guys. With the last poll on commissions people voted but I have yet to actually have anyone ask me about commissions or to do anything for them. If you don't have the money please don't vote, in a situation like mine the last thing I need is to get my hopes up.
If you are also serious and stand of your word then I'm happy to meet you in my dms for further communication.
Oh and preferably I would appreciate drawing for characters that are in the same fandom I'm in. You'll find a list of those fandoms HERE so check those out before texting me or asking me anything. No I will not conform to a request just because I need the money, pick a fandom that I share with you and we should have no issues.
I'll also post any commissions I get either here on Tumblr, on Twitter, deviantart, and/or Tiktok. (I'll post on all.) If you want to be mentioned when I post let me know that before I actually post. I'll warn you when I am.
If you have any questions on these RULES or anything please dm me before ever actually sending in money. DONT SEND ME ANYTHING UNTIL WE BOTH COME TO A FIRM AGREEMENT ON WHAT OUR INTERACTION WILL BE, pls and thank you. I already had one person who didn't read my rules before sending money and tried to put that all on me...I don't need that again.
Just to make sure it doesn't happen again I'll even ask you three questions revolving around this post when you dm me just to make sure you ACTUALLY read it.
Thank you to anyone who's made it this far, bigger thank you to those happy and ready to help me. I look forward to hearing from you guys!
Tumblr media
I'm really hoping I blow up for this post Lord Please.
