Why are all of John's friends trying to gaslight him constantly? He was proven right about Candy and yet they all still treat him like he's nuts. Especially Jade.

But John ISN'T right. The Candy timeline being a "funhouse reflection" doesn't justify his proposed assertions and actions. I went into deep detail about that in my liveblog post, person by person. Just about all of the adults are wrong in important ways (besides Karkat), and are proving themselves wrong in that very conversation-- but John is the MOST wrong, the furthest from the point of this story, the most obviously suffering from his shortcomings as a person.

You get the sense you may have missed something.

This line, as everyone is standing over him, isn't just a joke about what's going on behind them all... as I covered in my liveblog post, it's a key statement about the core mistake John is making. About how ever since he arrived on Earth C, he's been looking for "true meaning" everywhere outside himself when it has to come from within.

ROXY: john did you listen to a single fucking thing i said to you JOHN: yes! JOHN: like, okay, you were right. JOHN: this place IS real.

In their argument in this update, Roxy and John alluded to their home conversation toward the end of the Candy Epilogues, when John was trying to insist that everyone's actions made no sense and that this timeline didn't mean anything... and Roxy dismantled his assertions. That just because the Candy Timeline was so strange and intentionally read at first like poor fanfiction -- likely because it was born from CALLIOPE'S fanfiction, the Meat version of Callie wearing the Ring of Life who is constantly said both in the Epilogues and Homestuck^2 to have been drawing events on her walls that sound suspiciously like the events of Candy -- that doesn't mean the Candy story, that a noncanon fanfic, isn't real or doesn't matter. Just because some of the events seemed absurd from John's point of view, OUR point of view, didn't mean they didn't have underlying reasons... right down to Yiffy's name as we discovered in this update from Karkat's insight that Jade was naming and treating Yiffany like the child she imagined she'd have had with Dave without his involvement. Just because it's not the "original author's" method of characterization doesn't mean that fan characterizations hold no worth, that fan stories hold no value.

John is right that all the former heroes in the Candy Timeline (besides maybe Karkat) have made a great many HORRIBLE decisions, giving in to their insecurities and neuroses and past trauma. But his solution is to ditch all the consequences of their "fanfic" story, consign it to the trash bin, and instead pursue "relevance" as if a new adventure, as if something more "Canon", would would be best for everyone... mainly himself. That allowing fanfics to be real, or making a difference in their own world despite their flaws, is "too much freedom".

JADE: john... this is what i mean. JADE: you have no idea what it is you actually want, do you? JADE: being happy to you is just chasing after whatever it is you dont already have. JADE: and we know how that always turns out. JOHN: what does THAT mean? JADE: it means, john, that you're going to drag harry along on this big awful adventure and then, itll end! JADE: and even assuming it ends well, he might get what, one good year with you? JADE: maybe two? JADE: until you get bored and angry and avoidant all over

JADE: john... JADE: you cant actually believe everything will be fine if we just leave, right? JADE: no matter where you go, john, youre still going to be... this. JADE: i wish saving you WAS as easy as snapping our fingers and going off on some other adventure, JADE: but well never be 13 again. JADE: and... looking at you in that old outfit makes me nauseous. JADE: you were right, a lot of the time i dont like it here, and i DEFINITELY dont like whats happened to us. JADE: but its our own fault, and now its all we have left to work with.

Jade proved herself one of the "craziest" ones here in this update, with us seeing the real reason she chose a name as absurd and offhand-Dave-Strider-joke-like as Yiffany Longstocking, and in particular with the way she wants to CONTROL her child to live the life she THINKS is best for her from Jade's own experience, living a "normal" life vicariously through her, rather than letting Yiffy live the life she actually WANTS to live. She deserved Yiffy's final, parting "FUCK YOU!".

But the point she's making about John here is TRUE, and is even more important.

John has been constantly defining his self-worth by adventures outside himself, listless and depressed and UNCOMFORTABLE in his own being, thinking that happiness and fulfillment and satisfaction is something he has to go out and find on some sort of story quest. His time in Sburb was the only time the world around him was doing the heavy lifting of convincing him that he had meaning. But he was never comfortable JUST BEING HIMSELF. Never confident in BELIEVING in himself, by himself. Quests and chasing goals given to him were only ever temporary patches over his own insecurity, his feelings of wrongness in the very act of existing as the person he is.

"no matter where you go, john, youre still going to be... this."

"You get the sense you may have missed something."

John is so wrong, so horribly inconsiderate to everyone in this update, so insistent on the next dose of adventure even if it means consigning the entire timeline to the trash bin, because he is MISSING the key thing that would actually make him really, truly happy. Confident, fulfilled. Satisfied enough to live for OTHERS, like his child, more than just for himself.

Which is why the update ALSO gave him a GLIMPSE of what he was missing, what he needs to find INSIDE himself -- not outside -- in order to love himself.

And what he needs to find inside himself... is HER.

June Egbert would love herself enough to start truly living for herself and others. To believe in herself enough to show herself off so confidently in the stage's spotlight, to know she's a Hero beyond her prior inner doubts. The dead version of John in the Meat timeline seems likely to become her first, but the lesson is the same. John keeps trying to look for a way to "escape" his problems, causing all sorts of issues and insensitivity because he can't escape himself, and this is the true key to the self-acceptance he's been avoiding.

That's been the slow, steady, Andrew-blessed drumbeat that's been building in the background ever since the beginning of the Epilogues. It wasn't just a Toblerone wish, that was only the final excuse. Andrew had been talking obsessively with others about this repressed-transfem interpretation of John throughout Homestuck ever since fans brought up the idea before the Epilogues, before the Toblerone, and HS^2 and Beyond Canon's writers (and the Epilogue's cowriters) have all been standing with Andrew on this idea. The fact that Candy was so "weird" and non-canon was never what was actually making John "miserable" for so long. He's still projecting blame for his unhappiness onto that idea instead of seeing the truer way to be herself. It's been hinted at and reiterated throughout the new stories, and confirmed by its authors:

That's just the biggest key to JUNE'S issues, though, not everyone else's. From now on, all the heroes who were left behind in Candy -- possibly with help from those in the Meat Timeline who believe in them -- WILL SAVE the Candy Timeline from dissolving into the ether.

ROXY: john... i know things didnt work out the way you thought they would but we cant just up and fuck off???? ROXY: i feel it in my gut, we can save this place, we have to!

Together, they WILL prove the overarching theme that our drive to create fanon and fanfics and fan characters, that the wild and disagreeing interpretations on what could happen next (or what could have happened) that live on after the story in the reader's hearts, that the versions of these CHARACTERS that live on in our hearts, matter just as much or more as the grip of plot relevance and "canon" by a tyrannical author. That being trapped in a "story" necessarily tortures them for the sake of dramatic impact and that the characters deserve to be freed from its clutches. The overall message of the original "Homestuck" -- it's in the very NAME -- was that the heroes had to ESCAPE THE STORY to find true happiness instead of simply winning by its rules, by a tyrannical storycrafter like Lord English's rules. Homestuck's original ending was too strangely executed to spell out that lesson for most people. Homestuck's sequel is making that message EXPLICIT so none of us who stick around will miss it.

And Beyond Canon has been REALLY good at convincing me that they're going to pull that lesson off RIGHT. :D

Things are going pretty well for her and she starts getting more attention when she creates content about shows she goes to. She’s also a fan of Harry’s music and some of his fans start getting suspicious when his team starts interacting with her.

About yn: although the character does not have a faceclaim, pictures suggest reader is white.

Disclaimer: The story it’s set in 2021 and it will follow their relationship through the LOT leg in the US. Since this is nothing but fiction, I will be following some of the real timeline but also adding my own stuff. On top of that, I won’t be basing myself on Harry’s actual posts.

“Yea what's up?” you turn to face your sisters 

Gia asks “You okay?” 

“Why does everyone keep asking me that?!” You ask frustrated 

“Well because I just had to call you like 10 times to get you to respond” 

“I’m sorry Gia just thinking about work” 

“GOD! are they still texting you” 

“Yeaaaa” you say in a ‘duh’ tone

“Then your managers suck that's why you have managers to manage not text you all the time give me that!” she says snatching the phone from you

You reach for the phone “Hey! I need that!” 

“No! Alicia back me up!” she commands before  throwing the phone to her

“ALICIA!” you plead

Alicia moves away from you “I’m sorry sissy but sis is right”

You throw your hands up “Oh my god! You guys are killing me” 

“Look at you!” Gia points at you “you’re killing yourself.” 

You shake your head and sit down on the couch

“When's the last time you treated yourself or went on a date?” 

“Not this again” you say, this has been a recurring topic of conversation 

“No seriously when's the last time you were told you were beautiful” 

You roll your eyes “A lot of my customers tell me that daily” 

“Not your customers, your boyfriend! your man!” Alicia asks 

Gia approaches you “Listen when is the last time you got some really good dick?” 

You feel your palms sweating, “Gia really is that important?” 

“YES IT IS! we have needs too just like guys” Alicia interjects 

“Alicia! I can’t hear this!” you say covering your ears 

“No you’re gonna listen”  Gia says laying on you. “We are worried about you, and you're overworking. It was bad with one bar but now two?!”

Alicia jumps on top making you both groan “and you’ve canceled on us like 50 times!” 

“That's an exaggeration”

“Okay not 50 but every time its like I can’t ‘I'm working I cant gotta run to the bar’ ”

“I'm a busy woman!” 

“We know we also know you won’t make time for things unless someone forces you to ! You’re working too hard!”

You sigh “I promise to do better”

“We want a boyfriend for Christmas if you dont we are gonna snitch on you”  

“Nooo dont tell mom and dad” 

“Well I guess you better get to doing other shit besides working”

You groan and finally get the strength to push them off you 

“Its because we love you” Alicia hugs you 

“Yea I know” you say begrudgingly but hugging her back 

As you drive home that evening you think of the dream  you had recently. You and Rio were in his office arguing over something stupid you can’t even remember the details. Next thing you knew he was kissing you, shoving you back against the wall, and you were kissing him back! It was sloppy, not quite coordinated like it would be in real life, he was groping the same areas, some scenes kept replaying over and over, others were so vivid you could smell his cologne, taste the spearmint gum he chewed occasionally, the fabric of his shirt against your fingers. It ended when he reached up your skirt to yank down your panties, and just as you felt his calloused fingers graze up your thighs your alarm went off. Saved by the alarm! You would have liked for it to continue, because that would be the only way you were getting any. When you go to take a shower you feel the wetness between your thighs. Anyway the conclusion that you came to was you thought there was too much proximity to him and you were horny so your mind conjured him up nothing more, nothing else.

“It's hot!” you complain as you approached Rio, once again at the country club 

“Its summer” he states the obvious 

“Yup anyway here you go” you stated dropping the bag on the floor. You changed tactics you were either dropping it on the floor/table or in his hand now by holding it with both hands on the straps instead

He shoves the bag to the side next to his duffle “It’s getting cooler though it was burning at 3” he adds 

“You’ve been here since 3? (it was 6:30 in the evening)” 

He nods “had a couple of meetings”

You nod feeling the awkward tension “want anything else or can I go?” 

He smiles, looks at the tennis court then back at you “Not gonna take me up on my offer?” 

“Offer? What offer?” You think to yourself “Oh tennis? I can't” pointing to your attire dress and heels 

He nods “I know you don’t have to work at either place so what's holding you back?” 

“Actually, stalker, I have to be at Oasis tonight so I need to get going” 

He chuckles at your stalker comment before arguing “James said he had it covered” 

“Well James is your hire and he doesn’t ‘have it covered’ because” you show the text message James sent you begging you to go in because the Andersons were gonna stop by with some friends  and only you knew how to make them happy. “I have to go in” 

He sighs with slight irritation “he should be able to manage” feeling like you were just making up an excuse 

You smile at him “He is your hire” you reiterate bringing back the memory of you telling Rio he may not be the best manager but Rio insisting 

“Let him take care of it” he argues 

“Can’t Andersons are big customers spend close to 2 grand or more every time they stop by I gotta go” you turn to walk away

“How is he gonna learn?” he continues 

You shrug and open your hands “You should have asked yourself this before you asserted his position at Oasis!”

He scoffs looking around 

“Oh look at you two! How cute! Again!” 

You both turn to face the older woman and both give her an awkward smile there's a brief moment of silence before Rio asks “Hey I’m sorry do we know you?” 

“Well I saw you two at the launch of Oasis” 

Your mind immediately remembers her “Oh how nice to see you again! Have you been back? I’m sorry if I haven’t recognized you” 

“Oh I have but you're always at the other bar Cure?” You nod “I haven't been but my husband and I plan to stop by with friends”

You give a small pout “I’m sorry I keep missing you”

She waves you away jokingly “Oh it's alright the place is still great, drinks are just the way I like them strong” You giggle “and you know staff is perfect life is still merry!” 

“That's good!” you smile 

“I didn’t mean to interrupt I just thought I would come say ‘Hi’ my name is Edith by the way” she extends her hand 

“Edith nice to meet you I’m Y/N and that's..” 

She answers “Christopher he’s in the Tennis tournament this year saw your profile” she winks 

Rio smiles

You look at your watch. “I have to go, or the manager is gonna be calling me nonstop. It was nice meeting you again Edith and next time you're there have them reach out to me I’ll stop by” 

“Okay see you later young lady” 

You don’t even think to say bye to Rio just wanting to get out of there as soon as possible 

“Boy you must have made her mad!” Edith jokes 

He laughs “something like that”

“That's alright, nothing a bouquet of flowers, chocolate, and a big kiss can’t fix! Always does the job!” She advices

He nods and looks at the older woman Edith looks at the tennis court then back to Rio “You up for another round?”  she asks

He shrugs “sure why not?”

“Good because I'm gonna smoke ya!” 

He takes a sip of his water “I owe you a round of drinks at Oasis if you do”

“Oooh more motivation!!”

As things slowed down and the staff began closing down at Oasis you went into the office to grab your purse and go home for the night, a vow you recently made to not work past midnight. You hear footsteps walking in after you. You look back to see James standing there 

“Oh James!”, you smile at him even though he annoyed the shit out of you tonight i was just grabbing my bag

“Hey Y/N I wanted to talk to you?” 

“Yea what's up? Today was a hit right? Made a lot.”

“Yea I didn’t want to talk about that” he walks closer “I wanted to talk about you and me”

“Excuse me? I don’t follow” 

“Sorry came on too strong but I have to say it”

“Please don't” 

“You’re really beautiful and you’re an amazing woman”

“James Seriously”

“I know you’re not dating anyone why won’t you give me a chance” he says reaching to touch your cheek 

You jerked back “OH!”  You are shocked that he touched you “Don’t do that!” 

“I like you”

You roll your eyes “I know you do and I told you I’m just not interested right now it's not you its me”

“Why won't you let yourself be loved?” he asks reaching for your 

“James” you warn

He retracts “Seriously I can take care of you, make you feel good, make you feel loved

“I’m just not interested end of discussion”

“I can take care of you, you don’t have to work anymore”

“Well no that's...” 

He cuts you off “Come on” he says stepping closer to you and blocking you in as you push up against the desk “I think you’ve had a lot to drink, we’ll discuss that later but right now I need you to back the fuck up”

“Don’t be scared just let it happen” he whispers 

“James, if you don’t back up, I will shoot you.”  You declare in a flat tone 

He sucks his teeth “you wouldn’t do such a thing to me baby” he says inching closer  as you lean back placing your finger on the trigger 

“You better listen to her” You both hear from the doorway James head snaps to see Rio leaning against the door way “She will shoot you” 

James harshly mugs Rio, “cock blocker” he mumbles 

You’ve never been so grateful to see Rio “I’m going home good night!” you say moving away and walking past James 

“Text me when you get home” James says trying to stake his claim to you

“Good night James!” You say forcefully you’ve never texted him he was either really drunk today or really bold or both

“What the fuck was that about?” James asks stomping up to Rio. “I called first dibs, you knew this, You know I like her!” Rio squares up as James reaches him “you fucking up my spot now?” 

“Take your drunk ass home James before you do something that gets your ass in some shit you'll regret” Rio speaks unwavering 

“Oh you big man now?! You gonna make me regret it?!” Rio doesn't say anything he holds eye contact with him refusing to back down “Fuck you man no ones fucking scared of you!”  They both have a stare down contest before Rio snickers to himself and walks away. He had other things to do he didn't drop by for James 

“Y/N!”  you hear Rio’s voice calling to you as you speed walk to your car

“WHAT?!”  You snapped, spinning around as he was walking towards you. 2 strides and this man caught up to you. Lanky bastard “I am not working with him!” You announce “Did you see that bullshit I had my hand on my gun! I was getting ready to shoot him!”

He waves away your concerns “Don't worry about it Ima take care of it”

“By doing what “talking” to him?” 

He looks you in the eye “What’d I just say?” he responds 

You look up and rub the back of your neck. The migraine was returning  “Why are you here? What do you want?” your feet were hurting your and adrenaline was high 

“Need to talk to you” 

“About?”

“Need a favor”

You roll your eyes again “Favor before apology wow” you mutter 

“What was that?” He asks not fully catching what you said but knowing you made a smart comment 

You smile at him “What is it boss? How can I be at your disposal?” you ask sarcastically 

He drags his tongue on his lips taming the irritation from your sarcastic tone and comment “Got a gala night coming up at the country club need a date”

You scoff and roll your eyes  “Do you really need one? Just take one of the many women around you”

He smirks “Jealous?” he teases

“No! But why the hell do you want me? Don’t you have cousins, aunties or I don’t know?! Lady friends you can take?” He nods “I do but you fit the bill plus how do you want me to tell Edith we broke up?” Your eyes bulge “Did you tell her we were dating?” He smiles seeing your reaction “No but you didn’t tell her either that day or when she saw what happened on launch night” “That was your fault I was trying to move out of the way. I remember correctly you wouldn’t let me!” “So that what?  Your ex could corner you and you stand there looking like you don’t know how to tell him to fuck off I did you a favor”

You throw your hands up frustrated “I don’t get you” 

“Feelings are mutual”

“Why do you want to take me? You don’t even trust me!” you state

“Who told you that?”

You point at him “You!” you look at him unbelieving of his naivety “Every chance someone gets to lie to you telling you I screwed you over you believe them” He scoffs looking away, waving you off “why the hell would you trust me around those country club people? People I am assuming you want to impress” 

He sighs “It was a yes or no question” he asks now annoyed 

“I told you no”

“No you asked about irrelevant shit”

“Okay well the answer is no! There!” 

“Reconsider, I’ll be in touch” he says before walking away

The butterflies in your stomach might as well be wrecking balls your nerves are bad. Why? QTNA. You spent the last 3 weeks finding gala appropriate attire. Some were too much, others too little in any case you had back ups in case your highness didn’t like what you had on. 

You hear the doorbell ring and you hang your head low shaking it as you walk towards the door you had told him to text you so all you had to do was get out of the house. 

You open the door to see him standing there with a tuxedo “Nice tux” an all black tuxedo you couldn’t have predicted anything else 

He nods “clean up nicely yourself”

“Thanks, ready to go?”

He slowly takes you in before responding “mhmm” he hums 

“Okay lead the way” 

The ride to the country club was silent with old school RnB playing in the background. You were temporarily okay until you got to the club and were forced back to reality. You ran over the details you had memorized. 

You and Rio have been together for a little over a year, he owns several businesses around town. He is working on a non-profit to help families pay off medical bills. You’re just there to be his arm candy nothing else as he put it. Even though you argued over him literally getting said arm candy from the slew of women he had at his disposal 

“Ah Mr. Serraño your table number is table 5” 

“Thanks” he says, taking your hand and pulling you along into the room. When the space got too small making it hard for both of you to walk by he would go first, occasionally during that time your hand would bump against his glock that was secured around his waist. 

He stops to mingle a bit catching up with old friends/partners? You don’t know you're just here to be here. 

Eventually you made it to your table. You hated feeling like the newcomer but at least you weren't the only one. 

The night events commence shortly after  with a speech (how the club did this year, plans for next year expansion blah blah blah), announcement of silent auctions, awards, dinner and drinks. 

“Congratulations on the awards Mr. Serraño” He does something that resembles blushing but you write it off as a smile. Rio had gotten 3rd place in the single tournament and 2nd in the double tennis tournament. 

You turn back your attention to the host of the night. The drinks were good, food was good, a good change of scenery from your usual. At some point after dinner during the drinking hour and silent auction Rio excused himself. You don’t question why you just assume it was his usual running to the loo or getting another round of drinks. 

You notice he had been gone awhile when you glance down at your phone and realize almost 30 minutes had passed by. 

He returns shortly after in a huff, irritated. 

“You good?” you ask, glancing at him before you return to listen to the host not wanting to bring attention to his changed mood to your table mates. All he does is grunt frustratedly in response. 

When the host stops talking and the attention is brought back to the table for desserts/drinks/conversation. You notice Rio’s right hand and left, bruised and bloody. With the right being worse, it was bleeding and just as he finishes putting his glass down you grab it in a sly manner bringing it to your lap. 

Rio goes to pull it away but you hold it there pretending to be engaged in conversation while removing the tissue that was in your purse. You hold it firm and in a quick moment you look down at the tissue which was showing stains of red and up at Rio who locked eyes with you. 

That got him to relax enough to let you deal with it. 

When you're confident the bleeding has stopped you let his hand go and Rio takes the hint to go to the bathroom and clean up the rest. You two linger for a little before you both make your exit. You don’t know what he discussed half the night, plans for opening up another business it was all corporate jargon you just weren’t interested in. 

The car ride now is completely silent, no radio, nothing just breathing and the occasional glance at the phone here and there. 

You pull up to a strange building and Rio drives underground and parks the car. He turns to look at you and you stare back not knowing what he’s gonna say

“Gonna wait in here or upstairs?” 

“Upstairs?” you answer unsure of what the right option was

He nods and gets out of the car and being the gentleman of the night he opens the door for you again. You slowly make your way out of the car and walk beside him as he walks into the concrete building, you see number letter combos on the doors. It must be an apartment building you think to yourself. When you arrive on the fourth floor via the elevator only one door is present to you, you assume it was a penthouse unit. 

He opens the door and lets you in, “I’ll be quick just need to change” you nod “make yourself comfortable” he offers before disappearing into the hallway. 

Only  a few lights were turned on. From what you could see it was very much Rio, in some ways it resembled his office at the warehouse. Not a lot of clutter, everything seemed to have its place and served a purpose, no need for the extra fluff. As you continue to take in the space you see a few pictures of Marcus and him along with a larger picture of the greater family. Even the art framed matched him somehow. You turn to the kitchen and think to yourself either he didn’t cook or he cooked everything from scratch except for the very expensive espresso machine sitting on the counter. 

You take a few steps in and your hand grazes the back of his leather couch. It has minimal signs of being utilized. He was busy so a couch with signs of use didn’t seem right. You turn to face the hallway hearing noise coming from that end, a door closed. There were two hallways one by the kitchen the other by the wall where Rio disappeared. You want to walk around exploring his house like he has done to yours several times, you want to strip away any ounce of privacy he had left, you wanted him to feel exposed and vulnerable like he made you feel, not maliciously, maybe some ill intent involved to get back at him if you were being truthful with yourself. To even out the playing field in some sort of way. After he broke into your house the first time and you discovered he looked around you got rid of every sex toy that existed practically became celibate involuntarily. 

“I’m ready” you hear as Rio walks out with a bandaged arm wearing his usual garb. You smile at him and wait for him to approach you. “You could have made yourself a drink or sat down” he chuckles

“It’s okay, I know you have somewhere to be, don’t want to hold you up.” you say before turning to walk away towards the door. 

This time there was music on your way to your house. 

“Sooo what happened to... your...... hand?” you dare to ask after 15 minutes of driving. There's a long silence before he responds. He takes in a deep breath “Fucker moved and I punched the floor” 

“Ouch” you comment 

“Mhm!” 

“Take pain meds?”

“Mhm!”

You nod and look out the window watching as the city lights fade away as you approach the suburbs. Satisfied with his answers. 

He pulls into the driveway turning off the car before slowly turning to face you 

You feel nervous; it's not how he typically looks at you with a blank face or annoyance; there's familiarity in his gaze; he is comfortable with you, well at this moment anyway. 

You giggle nervously “You have somewhere to be”  you say before looking into your bag to find your key “got my keys and cellphone” 

There's a lazy smile on his face “ ‘preciate you joining me tonight” 

You nod, smiling “You made a good impression, they really like you.” That was the whole purpose of the night, right? 

He smiles again looking away  

“Yup well goodnight Rio” you say before opening the door

“Oh come on you wouldn’t let me open the door this time?” he asks jokingly as you step out “Oh! Slipped my mind, sorry” 

He nods stepping out of the car “well the least I can do is walk you to your door” 

You nod in response and close the door making your way towards the house, you were used to him being angry with you, you knew how to navigate around him when he was, this was different it felt like you were being studied in ways you didn’t even understand. 

You fumble slightly to open the door but you do and step in “do you want to come in?” you offer just to offer not that you really wanted it 

He shakes his head “can’t” 

“Right you have things to do, well I guess thanks for the evening I had fun hope your hand heals” 

“Yea here’s your cut” he says handing you the envelope full of money before walking away.

“Talked to who?” “Who else?!” 

You sigh “no!” you were starting to regret telling your sisters about the faux date between you and Rio

“Why not?” 

“Well it’s more of like a ‘hi’ and ‘bye’ thing”

“Did you text him the next day?”

You look at the camera on your phone “To tell him what?” 

“Y/N!” Gia scolds 

“Whaaaaat?” You whine

“You were supposed to tell him that you enjoyed your time” she continues

“I already told him that when the night was over! He doesn’t need me to say it again!” 

“You’re supposed to remind him, to keep his mind on you!” 

You roll your eyes “Ugh there's too many rules to dating now”

“Christmas is approaching” she threatens 

“I know!” 

“Either you show up with a boyfriend or we tell mom and dad!” 

You let out a sigh of frustration “Fine! Just tell them. Tell mom and dad!” They remain quiet “What? I don’t think I will have anyone by then guys. I'm busy, I just don’t have the time and I can't ask any man to accommodate this schedule of mine. I know mom and dad won’t be happy  but hey its okay we can’t have it all” 

“That's not true” Alicia speaks up sounding sad

“Don’t Alicia” you warn “I’m not dying here, you guys are acting a bit crazy over this”

“What's wrong with wanting someone to take care of you like you do everyone else?” 

“Nothing I just want you guys to be a bit more realistic on how soon or the possibilities of that happening. But I don’t like talking about myself. I wanna hear about you guys. How are your beaus?”

Read your post about us requesting BTS stories annnnnd i´ve had this idea since forever so maybe you can make it come to life?

Also, wanted to say i found your account some time back and i absolutely LOVE your conten. Its so, so good honestly. I´m so happy one random day you popped in my titmeline.

So here it goes, sorry if its too much, of course you can always skip parts or change it if you feel like it. Since Christmas and New Year are around the corner i think it would fit.

So Namjoon, Jin´s bestfriend both majorying in some nerdy career. Happens to one night take a light liking in you after almost 7 years knowing you, seeing you as Jin´s little sister. Where it gets tricky is that... both Jin and her have abandoment issues and he is SO OVER PROTECTIVE or her it borders toxic but its just trauma response (like the background is so angsty, idk father used to be an abuser, mom never taking care of them, leaving money and dissapearing for days, cursing them out for existing like Seokjin with just 13 learned how to cook do laundry and braid her sister´s hair every night? etcetc) So both Jin and her only trusted each other, that´s until they both found angels as friends few years ago. So one night, escaping from Seokjin, Jimin, her bff convinces her of sneaking to a frat party or something and- wait- What time is it? Her head hurts... And why is she grinding hips at the beat of the music and making out in a frat room with, tall, big thighs, glasses, dimple smiled and clearly drunk... K-Kim Namjoon?!

Like i want HEALING, i want development ...what if Namjoon is head over heels because he starts seeing her as a woman for the first time after that and he absolutely loves eveything about her? He tries but he just cant stop his heart from doing cartwheels everytime he sees her. Like, he KNOWS her. How was he so blind before? College Student Namjoon x Jin’s Little Sister Reader

“Hey so uh you busy next Saturday?”

You looked the guy in front of you over several times. You heard his name was Yoongi. He appeared to be your typical college fuckboy. Definitely older. Had more money than the average college student. He claimed to be a rapper, going by the name Suga, but you knew most of his money probably came from dealing. You knew what he wanted and you also knew you’d never hear from him again once he got it. The thing is that even knowing all of that information you were still interested.

“Why what do you have pla-“

“She’s busy!”, a familiar voice declared before grabbing your arm. As you were being drug away by your older brother you turned to get one last look at Yoongi who was staring at you dumbfounded before shrugging his shoulders and walking back into the party to find a new plan.

“What are you thinking talking to guys like that?”, Jin scolded once you were far enough away, “He’s just going to use you.”

“So what?! I’m an adult and I can consent to it if I want to.”, you said crossing your arms. So far your college experience had been a lot of sneaking around trying to do things without your overprotective brother breathing down your neck. You knew he meant well and only wanted the best for you, but it was still frustrating.

“Come on. Let’s grab some dinner. My treat.”, he said opening the door for you.

“Namjoon.”, you smiled before taking a seat across from him at the table. Of course he would be there. Him and your brother had pretty much been inseparable since high school which was both good and bad for the huge crush you harbored on him.

“Y/N.”, he nodded, “You know Jin is right by the way. You really should stay away from guys like Yoongi. You deserve much better than that.”

Your heart skipped a beat hearing him say that, but you quickly came back to reality when he followed it up with, “You’re my best friends little sister and I’d hate to see you get hurt like that.”

“Thanks.”, you mumbled before burying your face into the menu. You were never going to be more to him than the annoying little girl in pigtails who use to tag along with them everywhere they went.

“Are you two seriously studying on a Saturday night?”, you giggled after finding Jin and Namjoon surrounded by papers and books at the kitchen table.

“Hey Astrophysics is like really really hard.”, Jin whined.

“Yeah that’s why I’m a dance major.”, their other friend Hobi spoke from behind the counter where he was biting into a pizza slice.

“Okay well I’ll be out late so don’t wait up.”, you said trying to quickly make it to the door.

“Whoa whoa whoa where do you think you’re going?”, Jin questioned.

“I have a date.”, you mumbled knowing you were about to have a fight.

“A date? With who? And where? It better not be Yoongi.”, he said walking over to get closer to you.

“It’s not Yoongi. It’s just uh…It’s just some guy I met.”, you whispered, “I’m meeting him at the restaurant.”

“No way! I don’t like that. I’ll take you there so I can see this guy for myself.”, Jin said already looking for his coat.

“I’m an adult Jin. I don’t need you babysitting me all the time.”, you spat.

“I don’t care if you’re an adult. You’re still my little sister.”, he said sternly, “Namjoon help me out here.”

Namjoon was a little taken back after being pulled into the conversation, but he composed himself, “I mean…I think it’s a good thing for him to check it out and make sure this guy doesn’t seem like he’s up to something.”

You sighed, but stormed out of the apartment knowing that Jin was close behind.

“See.”, you hissed while pointing through the large window of the restaurant, “His name is Taehyung. He’s a biology major. He works part time at the campus coffee shop even though he hates coffee. He likes theater and the color red. Good enough?”

Jin side eyed you, “Call me immediately if he tries anything.”

You rolled your eyes and entered into the restaurant towards Taehyung whom you did know from being partnered together in your intro to biology class. Thankfully he was a talker so you knew a lot about him and by some miracle he also happened to be at the same restaurant. Because once you were sure that Jin had walked away you turned and walked towards your actual date.

Yoongi was sitting in the back corner. He greeted you with a smile and got up to pull out your chair and help you get seated, a nice gesture you weren’t expecting from him.

You liked him, maybe even a little more than you had planned but you couldn’t help yourself. He was handsome and charismatic. He knew just what to say. He also had this “he can be fixed” aura about him. You always seemed to go for the guys with the most traumatic or saddest backstories, probably a product of your upbringing thanks to your severely alcoholic father whom you grew up trying to take care of before he passed away.

“Earth to Y/N.”, Yoongi chuckled, “Did you wanna meet up at The Winter Fest next Saturday?”

You were stunned by his request. A second date with THE Min Yoongi was unheard of.

“Yeah sounds great.”, you managed to speak still in shock.

“Cool, I can’t wait.”, he smirked.

“NO absolutely not!!”, Jin slammed his hand down on the table, “You are not going to The Winter Fest. It’s just an excuse for too many people to shove themselves into a house and get blackout drunk and have sex. You are not going!” He was actually angry. You knew he wasn’t going to be happy when he found out, but you didn’t expect this level of aggression.

“Why do you treat me like I’m still a child? You’re not my father!”, you shouted back instantly feeling guilty when you saw his face fall.

“Fine Y/N. Do what you want, but I cant promise I’ll be there to save you.”

“Jinnie.”, you said reaching for his hand but he pulled away.

“I may not be your father, but I had to step up at a young age to raise you, to protect you. I practically gave up my youth to take care of you and for the longest time you were all I had. I’m sorry that I’m overprotective of you. I don’t want to see anything happen to you.”, he said before walking off to his room.

“He has a point.”

“Not now Namjoon.”, you pouted but he continued anyways, “He just wants what is best for you. I know he comes off strong and like he’s just trying to ruin things for you, but he means well. Especially about this Winter Fest thing. Nothing good ever happens there. The school has been trying to get it banned for years. I’d have to agree with him on this one and you should skip it.”

“Why so I could be the one person on campus who doesn’t go to it? Be deemed a social outcast?”

“Why do you want to go so bad?”, he inquired, “Do you really think Yoongi has good intentions by asking you there?”

You looked at him with wide eyes, “H-How did you know that?”

Namjoon started packing up his belongings. “Let’s just say your brother isn’t the only one that worries about you.”, he mumbled before seeing himself out of your apartment.

“Wait so Jin is out of town which means you can freely go to Winter Fest?”, your best friend Jimin asked.

“Yep, I guess I got lucky. He said something about going to some astrophysics conference somewhere. I don’t know. It sounded boring.”

“Wow I thought for sure he’d lock you in a tower somewhere and throw away the key.”

You both laughed at the thought of that.

“And Namjoon?”, he questioned a few minutes later.

“What about him?”

“Well…I mean he’s kind of like your other protector. He’s always got his eye on you and stuff. He’s just not as obnoxious about it as your brother is. I think he might kind of have a thing for you. He gets like weirdly jealous some times.”

You scoffed to yourself, “He thinks I’m just some dumb little girl who can’t take care of myself. That’s all. And I don’t know where he is tonight and I don’t really care because I have a date with Yoongi to get ready for.”

The music was loud, almost excruciatingly loud. The floors were sticky and covered in what you were hoping was just spilled liquor. All you cared about was finding Yoongi which was a lot harder than anticipated thanks to strobe lights and hundreds of other people packed into this house shoving each other around.

You were making your way to the back when someone grabbed your waist startling you and making you scream.

“Calm down baby doll. It’s just me.”, Yoongi whispered in your ear.

“Sorry you scared me.”, you giggled and wrapped your hands around his arm.

“Don’t worry. I wont let anything bad happen to you.”, he grinned while leading you into the kitchen to get a drink.

It happened fast, but one drink turned into three and next thing you knew your hands were running through Yoongi’s hair as he pushed you up the stairs while his tongue wrestled with yours for dominance.

Somehow you managed to find an unoccupied bedroom in which Yoongi pushed you down onto the bed.

“Are you sure about this baby doll?”, he asked. The nickname making your heart beat a little bit faster.

You nodded and pulled him down on top of you.

“H-Hold on. I’ll be right back.”, he said leaning away. “Need condoms.”, he laughed when he noticed your confused expression before leaving the room.

You laid on the bed adjusting your skirt and unbuttoning your top a little more when the door swung open and then quickly slammed shut. You expected Yoongi or even another eager couple, but you never expected to see Namjoon standing in the center of the room. When you saw him glancing at your exposed cleavage and hiked up skirt you quickly adjusted yourself feeling your cheeks heat up.

“Namjoon what are you doing here? Please leave.”

He shook his head, “You need to come with me. Please Y/N. You don’t want to be here.”

“No I’m sure I do want to be here because that’s why I’m here so please leave before Yoongi gets back.”

“Y/N listen to me?”

“No Namjoon. I’m sick of it! I’m sick of you guys being overbearing. I’m sick of you treating me like a little kid. I’m an adult and can make adult decisions on my own.”

He nodded, “Fine.”, and walked out slamming the door behind him.

The door opened once again. This time revealing Yoongi. But also someone else. A someone else that made your legs shake and your stomach nauseous.

“J-Ju-Jungkook?”, you whispered.

“See I told you man.”, Yoongi said patting Jungkook on the back, “I’ve got her prepped and everything. She’s all yours.”

You watched as Jungkook handed Yoongi a wad of cash.

“I…I don’t understand.”, you said, “You’re like a pimp or something?”

“Oh God no.”, Yoongi laughed, “I’m just a good business man. The first time… I was genuinely interested in hooking up with you, but after our little run in with your brother I didn’t think you would be worth the trouble. But fuck you’re gorgeous and I couldn’t get you out of my mind so I gave you another chance. Then I saw your crazy brother follow you to the restaurant and knew I was done with this mess. When you got up to go to the bathroom I was just gonna pay the bill and leave you there, but then Jungkook here came over to the table and asked for a favor. He said he knew you and wanted to get with you so I said for the right price I’d make it happen. And here we are!”

You were appalled by him. An arrogant fuckboy is one thing, but accepting money to trick you into hooking up with someone else, especially Jungkook was another. You wanted to give him an ear full, but he was already in the hallway letting the door slam behind him.

You tried to chase after him, but Jungkook put his arm out to stop you, “I don’t think so Y/N. I paid for this and I’m not leaving without it.”

“Leave me alone Jungkook. I wouldn’t fuck you back when we were dating and I won’t do it now so let it go.”, you said trying to shove past him but he was much bigger and stronger and threw you down onto the bed with ease, “We will see about that.”

You wanted to fight back, but all of the horrible memories of your past came flooding back making you freeze in fear. Your addict of mother letting random men into the house at all hours of the night and you screaming in terror begging for them to stop. Jin always bursting through the door not caring what happened to him as long as he got you safe. He’d always wrap you in his arms and tell you everything was going to be okay and you would give anything to have him here right now so you could apologize and tell him he was right about all of it.

“Y/N are you okay?”

“Y/N?”

Cautiously you opened your eyes to see Namjoon staring at you. The bedroom door had been nearly busted off its hinges and Jungkook was rolling around on the ground with blood pouring from his nose and mouth.

“Joonie.”, you sobbed as he picked you up and pulled you onto his lap.

“Are you okay? Do you need to go to the hospital?”, he asked.

“N-No”, you shook your head, “I just want to go home.”

“Okay. Let’s get you home.”, he said carrying you out of the party.

The snow had really picked up outside and you were freezing. You were a little embarrassed. Also still a little scared and shaken up.

So when Namjoon came in your room to bring you some hot tea and a snack you couldn’t help but break down all over again.

“I…I think, maybe I should call Jin.”, he said trying to walk away, but you grabbed onto his hand and stopped him, “No please stay here with me. I don’t want to be alone.”

“Okay. I’m here.”, he whispered before gingerly getting into your bed with you trying not to cause too much of a disturbance.

“How did you know what they were up to?”, you asked after a while of silence and watching the snow fall.

“Well…Yoongi and Jungkook aren’t exactly the smartest so they were running their mouths about this whole thing and it eventually got back to me.”

“Oh.”, you said, “Well uh thank you for saving me. I’m sure Jin made you promise to take care of me. Honestly I can’t believe he even left knowing all of this would happen.”

“He doesn’t know.”

“What?!”, you gasped.

Namjoon nodded, “I didn’t tell him. I knew he would loose his mind over it and probably get himself hurt or even worse so I never said anything. I was uh I was actually supposed to be at the conference with him, but I pretended to be sick so I could be here instead.”

“Thank you Joonie. I’m sorry your hand got hurt.”, you said gently rubbing his bruised knuckles.

“Worth it.”, he chuckled, “I’ve wanted to punch Jungkook ever since the first time I saw the two of you together.”

You laughed along with him, “Yeah I apparently have a type and it’s not a good one. I just… I don’t know. I want to find someone who’s a good guy. I can certainly take care of myself, but I want someone that will put Jin’s mind at ease too you know. Like someone he trusts and I can trust. I want him to enjoy his life and stop worrying about me so much. I don’t know if I’ll ever find anyone like that.”

“What about me?”, Namjoon asked after a long bout of silence.

“What about you?”

“Well I mean your brother trusts me and I think you trust me otherwise I wouldn’t be laying in your bed right now.”, he awkwardly looked around, “I also kind of really like you a lot Y/N. I have for a while. I just…I didn’t want to make things weird because you’re my best friends sister and I never wanted to push anything on you. But I can’t keep watching you go out with these dirtbags.”, he said before turning in the bed to face you, “I can take care of you. I can protect you. I’ll always be there for you. Y/N, I can show you what true love looks like, feels like, sounds like. I want to fill all of the voids that you have in your life. I-If you’ll have me that is.”

“You have…You have no idea how long I’ve liked you.”, you whispered now crying tears of happiness, “I know I come with a lot of baggage and I’m not perfect, but I would really really love it if you gave us…gave me a chance.”

“Hey hey don’t cry.”, he said softly wiping away your tears, “You know…some of the most beautiful pieces of art in the world have imperfections in them, but that doesn’t make them valued any less than the others. If anything it makes them even more special.”

“You’re always such a dork.”, you chuckled hoping to lighten the mood a little., “Thank you for always being there for me Namjoon, especially tonight. I don’t know what would’ve happened…”

“Hey don’t think about what did or could’ve happened any more. It’s over. You’re safe here with me.”

You nodded your head against him before resting on his chest allowing the beats of his heart and slow breathing to help lull you off to sleep. You felt warm and comfortable and safe for the first time in a long time.

“Ahhh what the hell?! I leave for two days and you two end up cuddled in bed together.”, Jin groaned after dropping a bag of food on the bedside table, “Eat and get dressed. We’re having a family meeting to set some ground rules before I walk into something I don’t want to see. I need my brain to be in prime condition and not scarred by this nonsense.” Then he stormed out mumbling something about holy water.

Namjoon laughed as he handed you a breakfast sandwich.

“He took that better than I expected.”, you said feeling quite relieved.

“Don’t be too comfortable.”, Namjoon chuckled, “He’s got a whole PowerPoint presentation prepared for this moment.”

Your mouth dropped open, “Seriously?”

“Yep”, he nodded, “It has graphs and special effects and everything. He’s been saving it for when you finally started dating someone he thought was decent enough to stick around.”

“Oh god.”, you whined before falling back onto the bed.

“Hey!”, Jin’s voice came from outside the door, “None of that funny business until we go over the PowerPoint. I discuss it on slide 27.”

You thanked Namjoon after he handed you a sweater to wear and walked into the hallway.

“Just so you know…it has 118 slides.”, he whispered.

“Well…maybe I’ll give you a little reward if you get him to cut it in half.”, you smirked while squeezing his hand thankful and grateful to have him…both of them…by your side.

So, I just want to say something real quick about Wilbur Soot and the expectation fans have of all his friends to come out and immediately make statements and drop him. I particularly want to talk about Tommy because i see parallels between his relationship with Wilbur and my relationship with an adult who made me feel responsible for his wellbeing. I am not saying that their relationship is like this, just that based on what we've seen it could be, and we should be prepared to be empathetic and understanding to Tommy in case it is like this.

So some background. Starting at 13 or 14, I had a friend in his thirties who made me feel responsible for his mental health. I won't go into great detail, but I was constantly reassuring him and trying to keep him from killing himself, which was something he gave me multiple scares about. He would disappear and not respond to messages for days or weeks after posting suicide notes on his tumblr... but he was fine every time, just stepping away. Still, it scared me every time, and I felt like I hadn't been doing a good enough job helping him be happy.

I was friends with him from 13 to 16 and I felt responsible not just for his happiness, but his life.

It was so difficult to end that friendship that it took him blocking me multiple times before i could accept that he wasn't my responsibility anymore.

I defended him, let him get away with shit, let him have way more power over my life and beliefs and relationships than he should have. Because i was so toxically attached to him and believed what he told me, I seriously hurt my best friend in the whole world and I will never be able to fully express how sorry I am for it.

I'm saying this because there is evidence that Wilbur and Tommy's relationship contains similar dynamics. Wilbur has said that he relies on Tommy for his mental health. They met when Tommy was, what, 15? That's not healthy. Wilbur is an adult. I've also heard that Tommy has had to talk Wilbur down from suicide. This is extremely similar to what I experienced, and as much as it discomforts me to be seriously speculating about two ccs' relationship off-camera, I can't help but see the strong similarities to my story.

And Shelby's story corroborates this kind of behavior from Wilbur. She also was made to feel like Wilbur relied on her. For Shelby it was about his living situation--she felt like he needed her to take care of him, like he was too traumatized or depressed to take care of his own house and affairs, and if she stopped doing it it just wouldn't get done. And because she is a kind person, she didn't want to leave him like that.

This kind of behavior traps the victim in a relationship with the abuser by making them feel guilty if they try to leave or even distance themselves. It makes the victim feel like they cant hurt or go against the abuser in any way, for fear of blood on their hands, literal or metaphorical. It drives you to defend them, to try to stay by their side even as they prove themselves a terrible person.

So if Tommy isn't immediate and decisive in dropping Wilbur, I think we should be understanding. In these sorts of manipulative relationships, its really hard to speak badly of the abuser, and its hard to accept when others say they're abusive. That's an aspect of the abuse.

It took me until I was 13 to even be consciously aware of my mom doing this to me, and I only became aware of that "friend" doing it when I hadn't spoken to him in years.

This is the sort of thing that is VERY difficult to process and navigate and I think we should give Tommy, and other people close to Wilbur, some grace in navigating it. They should still drop him, but I think we should let them take some time because dropping an abuser who acts like this is very difficult, and they make it so on purpose.

Hello hello! Anon here. First of all, congratulations on getting accepted for your courses! Don't worry about trying to balance work and the blog, we will always be here waiting for you. Second of all, your whole Yutu AU has been really fascinating to look through. (Though that may be because of my bias toward Fire Emblem Awakening, as it was what got me into the series) Sorry for the incoming wall of text, but it's been giving me THOUGHTS.

So imagine this: whoever Yutu's dad is (I'll pick Azul for this example because I headcannon his English voice somewhere between Matt Mercer's Chrom and Olivert from The Legend of Heroes games) finds out who Yutu really is. You remember that cutscene after Chapter 13 in Awakening, with the Lucina reveal and Chrom has this: "You deserved better than a sword and a world full of troubles. I'm sorry."? Imagine Yutu hearing something like that: the acknowledgement of everything he's gone through, the pain of knowing his dad couldn't do anything and can't do anything more than offer words, and the reality that it might now be really possible to change the future? I imagine Azul breaking down after hearing all that because the last thing he wants to do is hurt Yuu or his son after everything he's been through. Oh goodness, the two of them both need hugs.

Second: did Crowley tip off the Magic Marshalls (because I think he would) and force Yuu to take the blame for his negligence (because he absolutely would)? Now imagine Yutu finding this out and telling his dad. Now his dad knows Crowley is a cheapskate who fobs his work onto everyone else without a second thought. And now he's responsible for having Yuu taken away and starting all this? Knowing the boys and how far they would go for Yuu I'd imagine they don't take that well. In other words, to slightly alter a quote from Regina in Once Upon A Time: "I guess killing a crow suddenly made the top of my to-do list."

Listen fire emblem awakening was my entire personality for like all of middle school.  The only thing i wanted to talk about was chrobin.  I celebrated Morgan and Lucina's birthdays by drawing them. I think I still have a Cherche x Libra fan art thing I drew on some sheet of paper somewhere in my things because I was SO MAD that no one shipped them and I couldn't find fan art of them anywhere and I just oooooooooooh.  THE WAY CHROM GETS A NEW CRIT LINE ABOUT HOW ANYTHING CAN CHANGE AFTER THE REVEAL???? BECAUSE OF HOW DETERMINED HE IS TO KEEP THAT PROMISE AND GIVE LUCINA A BETTER WORLD???? i just cant be normal about them i am so sorry.  R+A annon I love you, I love you so much for this you made my entire month and possibly my year.  Awakening is also what got me into the series and made me so many friends I just love her so much.  She's an icon and I hope she gets remastered with Sumia either deleted or with a fucking personality.

I should probably sit down and actually write a timeline for myself of events, but since I am free to lean in to the fire emblem pacing, I want to say that monsters from Yutu's timeline start showing up (similar to how the Risen do in Awakening) in the past and stirring up trouble, which leads to an event where Yutu panics and forgets himself in his desperation to protect his dad.  The main way the future kids always proved themselves was by showing their mother's wedding ring, but Yutu doesn't have that so really it's just up to his dad to see someone who looks like him and Yuu blended together, supposedly from Yuu's world using magic and above all else crying out and driving up his own blot levels to protect him calling him dad. For Azul! Yutu it's especially painful, he feels like he already knows what his dad is going to say. That he's disappointed in him. That he has no idea how they could possibly be related. That he hopes in this future he turns out to be different. But that's not what happens.

Before Azul overblotted he was quiet. There's a similar quiet over him now, a similar look of tense surprise, but Yutu- no- his child doesn't know that. His child is looking at him in fear, in worry for his reaction or his safety he doesn't know but he knows the way those tears start to form. Azul knows the quiver of the lip and the shriek, of all the things he could have passed on to such a treasure.

"You deserved better from me." Because it's true. He might think of himself as a work in progress but he still thinks he has quality; he would have done research, read every book he could get his hands on, taken classes, anything he would need to do to be a good father, a worthy partner. Anything. "You deserved to have the world within your grasp, not whatever shadow of a future and a father I left you with. I am so sorry." He does not expect Yutu to grab him and hold him like he's still somehow worthy of his love, but Azul can't fight the urge to grab back, to stroke his son's hair and let the tears fall on his suit without any care at all. I'm here. It's ok, daddy's here, daddy's got you, he won't let anything happen to you.

As for your second question, I did not really write Crowley like that no. It was more like he was the first person mysteriously arrested after the Magical Marshall's decided to finally do their job. I was writing it like they wanted to ship Yuu away to cover up for their own incompetence in preventing seven overblots instead of properly investigating what might have caused that. He's not completely innocent though, so yes. The boys do not take it well at all. And please do not apologize for sending in your thoughts, I am so so slow but I love hearing from you.

Wheel of Time 3x07 Goldeneyes

This a bit of an odd episode that I think its going to be a bit until I full come down on my rating for this. There is a ton of stuff I like but overall I think the ep is a bit messy with a few moments I'm meh on even if I can get why they did them. Overall it seems show onlies liked the ep, while book readers are a bit more divided

The whole thing about Perin now being Lord Perrin Goldeneyes with the Wolfbanner is all from the books is perfect and love it. They hit on his struggle of not wanting to be a lord with Faile pointing out how important it is to his people.

We finally get Aram and the Tinkers! In the books they are introduced in the Two Rivers way earlier. In fact I think the moment where Aram takes up the sword might be one of the first chapters after Rhuidean. A little thing to keep in mind, ive seen some people say Aram is going to become an Aiel. No he is not, Aiel dont use swords, he is going his own path

I love that they make explicit the connection to the last King of Mantherin, Aemon al Caar al Thorin, and Rand's adoptive father Tam al'Thor and the possibility he is a descendant of his. Some ave also speculated Mat and the Cauthon family might be as well

Let's get back to Tam, who in the books is a major figure in this storyline and his Perrin's second in command. It sounds like he wasn't in this season due to scheduling conflicts with the actor which is a major pain. Maksim’s speech he gives to rally the troops was totally originally going to be Tam's

One of the first changes that I'm not a fan of Loial's death. Loial does not die in the books, but I think, from an adaptation side of things I get why they did it. Loial falls into a similar rut as a lot of "Second Tier mains" as I would call them (also would include Lan and Thom in this) where in the middle of the series they kinda disappear for several books or are technically there in the background for several books but dont do anything. Loial does in the books eventually rally the Ogiers and leads them to battle in the Last Battle, but that's in the last book. On a show you cant really have an actor jut hang around for seasons and nt really do much, especially one that requires so much make up. I just wish they had wrote him out as going back to the Stedding to heal from the Longing instead.

Also not a big fan of Alana getting injured again. Repeating the beat she literally just did. I get needing to write her out of the second half of the battle, but they either should not have had her as badly injured before with the White Cloaks, or alternatively have there be a Black Adjah or mad male channeler in the trolloc army that she had to deal with

I did like them killing of Valda here. In the books he is killed way later but this is a better end point. I also like the small implication that he may have been able to channel (cause he could see the weaves) and that was maybe part of the reason for his instability

Final thing I was not a fan of, the resolution to the fight with Perrin just threatening Fain into retreating. In the books, Faile actually does go away from the fight only to return with an army of villagers from other towns and farms who help turn the fight against the trollocs. Again they probably changed this because they couldn't afford all the extras, and for similar reasons probably didn't do my alternative which was Perrin calling down an army of wolves to fight.

Perrin leaves with the White Cloaks to go on trial at the end. In the books he does not go with them here, but instead goes with them books and books later, I think book 12 or 13? I am fine with this as the whole Perrin/White Cloak trial storyline goes on way too long in the books and would like them finishing it up soon. I will say though I am 50/50 on if this will be resolved next ep. This might be the last time we see Perrin this season

There is a lot I liked about this ep. The whole battle, Aram, Weap for Mantheran, The Perrin/Faille battle scene, Valda's death, and them speeding up the Perrin/White Cloak storyline from the books. It's just a lot of the other things I thought were a bit messy.

The Great Wave Chapter 16 Review!

WHAT WAS THAT??!??!? HUH?!?!??????

Let’s start with how this chapter was AMAZINGGGG!!! The visuals again are really pretty, and the storyyyy! Oh boy the story in this oneee

But before I begin to yap about it, let’s do my little summary first!

This chapter begins with Lilotte(or maybe not Lilotte? wink wink), going to our mysterious figure, who seems surprised that she’s back so soon, referring to her as “13”(thirteen) which implies that every ouginak there has a number for a name… so something fishy is going on here.

The figure also asks where her cape is, and she confesses that someone caught her, calling the figure “master”(which rings a lot of alarms imo!!! Who is this dude??? And then it shows Thirteen’s face, and she looks so scared of him

And explains that the antiquarian who she stole the ring from let her go, and he tells her that he must be a really kind but they have rules here and how will she ever learn from her mistakes if she isn’t punished

At this point Thirteen is crying, looking at him terrorized, and the rest of the ouginaks are there, looking, because they can’t do anything.

Then the figure TAKES OUT A KNIFE OUT OF HIS POCKET!!!!!!!!!!! AND HOLDS THIRTEEN’S ARM!!!!!

Then is when we get to see the rest of the ouginaks better, and they’re all full of scars, and one is even missing an ARM!!!!

WHO IS THIS GUY!?!???? AND WHY DOES HE THINK THIS IS MORALLY CORRECT??!???!!??!?!!

AND THEN HE SAYS HOW IT WOULD BE A INJUSTICE FOR YOUR SIBLINGS IF YOU ARENT PUNISHED?!???!??!!!!? THIS GUY JUST APPEARED ONE CHAPTER AND I ALREADY HATE HIM WITH MY WHOLE SOUL!!!!!!

Then we can see the face of all the ouginaks, and they all look so tired

And just when the knife begins to cut Thirteen, someone says “Master Harigue(so that’s his name!) it’s not a problem if Thirteen is not punished”, Harigue turns then, and the one who said this was the ouginak from the cover of chapter 17

And says that no one would have the sensation of it being a injustice

Thirteen tells him to go back with the others, calling him twenty seven, but Harigue stops her and tells her to let him develop his idea.

Twenty seven says that it will give them hope, and Harigue answers that he understands… that it will mean that failure doesn’t imply a reprimand…

He then goes CRAZY over this, shouting that thanks to him they have a roof over their heads and food once in a while and that he works really hard for them to always want more, more food, more blankets(how DARE children have basic human needs 🙄) and now they want him to let them make mistakes??? He is about to hit Thirteen with his knife then, but nothing happens, until he quietly asks Thirteen if the antiquarian that let her go was Joris Jurgen

Then it shows a time skip of Joris and the 1839173 ouginak children he just adopted walking down the street, while he tells them that he’s taking them to his home

He then goes to the door, and says that he’s getting them some hot milk, but he stops at the door because YUGO AND AMALIA ARE THERE??!???? AND FOR SOME REASON YUGO LOOKS EXTRA MENACING?!???

And then the chapter ends, my only question is what did Joris do with Harigue? 😭

I don’t really have many theories for this chapter, it really doesn’t leave many things to think, only what happened with Harigue and who was he, but we got the answer to who “Lilotte” actually was! Apparently she’s just reaaaaally similar to her.

Okay can we talk about something for a moment???

The Thundermans have a LOT of things they introduced into the series but never touched in again.

So I made a list of things I want them to revive or at least expand on-

- Billy and Nora (or even Chloe) getting their thunder sense. They only mentioned it in season 1 episode 13, and literally never talked about it again (from what I remember.) I want to see them expand on, use it in battle, and more importantly, I want to know if it’s just a Thunderman trait or if other heroes have that trait. Do villains have that trait? After all, they did reveal in the movie that superheroes and villains get their powers from a plant.

- speaking of the plant, is there multiple plants? Why was the thunderman family chose to keep it safe? How many generations ago did people get powers? Why those people? What created the plant?

- also I’m just saying it now, I need Max and Phoebe to hang out with Billy and Nora. Like we barely see them interacting. I’d literally do ANYTHING for an episode of Max and Nora hanging out, Phoebe and Billy hanging out, vise versa… I know there was like one episode in the series, but that’s only one and Max was being a dick.

- I NEED to see an episode of what it would be like if Max did take over the world. Like how he did it. Did he become a superhero to get a bunch of secrets and feed them to Dark Mayhem? Or maybe it’s just an alternative au when Phoebe failed to turn him, and said the original uncut scene instead, where she asked him if he’d rather be a hero or a villain. Obviously we wouldn’t be able to see them as teens, but maybe they could explain it in the beginning. Like maybe Colosso is telling a story. Like clue style.

- OH. SPEAKING OF CLUE, maybe a murder mystery episode??? I think that would be awesome. Kinda like the blue bean episode where max turned blue. But like. ✨murder✨

- So… I can’t be the only one that wants at least a little queer rep, right…? And I’m not the only one who thinks Max is a little… fruity… (as long as Jack Griffo is okay with it) give him a boyfriend or something PLEASE 😭

- Because Max and Phoebe are I think like… 25…. I’d like to see them attempt being adults. Key word: attempt. (basically I just to see them get an apartment and what not, and obviously the Thundermans are sad, and their siblings find it hard not having their older siblings in the house.

- And I think maybe even Chloe not knowing much about cousin Blobbin, their pop-pop, or grandma (I forgot what they called her) would be interesting as well.

- also what happened to Blobbin???

- I think they were already thinking about expanding on it, but since several of the Thundermans friends +Wong have powers, I’d like to see how they deal with keeping it a secret or if they somehow get the powers removed. Like maybe they use that ball thing they used to trap Dark Mayhems powers. OH. WHAT IF THEY ACCIDENTALLY GAVE THEM MAYHEMS POWERS IN THE PROCESS OF TRYING TO TAKE THEIR POWERS?!

- Okay this kinda goes into Phoebe and Max becoming adults, but I wanna know if they went to college or if they are going to college.

- also, Max talks about having Evilgram in one episode (maybe a couple), and I’m curious if he kinda just forgot about it or deleted it. He probably deleted it, but I think it would be cool seeing Max find Evilgram on his old phone and miss that phase of his life. Maybe that could even tie in with an evil Max episode.

- ALSO I WANT TO SEE MAX USING HIS GADGETS IN BATTLE. HE SPENT SO MUCH TIME MAKING THEM IT’S UNFAIR IF HE CANT USE THEM.

I’m probably missing a lot of small moments but honestly I’m just going back and rewatching some of the episodes and I’ve been kinda jumping around so i do t remember all of them-

Anyhow I think it’s awesome that the Thundermans are coming back to life (that is if the movie gets good reviews. PLEASE LIE AND SAY IT WAS GOOD EVEN THOUGH THE CGI WAS CRAP. THE PLOT WAS ACTUALLY GOOD.)

Had this silly idea of twice and dabi doing the tickle monster gimmick on toga and mustard so i wrote some headcanons on how that would go.

Toga is prolly very hyper and full of energy so twice will usually do it as a way to get her to wind down. Or sometimes toga and twice would do a hide and seek game which always devolves into toga making twice chase her around the base and probably saying stuff like "here comes the tickle monster!" and he usually catches her and picks her and tickles her sides and gives her raspberrys on her tummy and it really just makes the both of them happy.

Mustard on the other hand is much more low maintenance (not sure if im using that term right) like hes more reserved and choose's to do more calming things like doing coloring books or budling lego set's. Honestly Dabi thinks its a nice change of pace not that hes sick of taking care toga or anything but its nice having someone just rub your shoulder and asking if you could bulid legos with them and not have someome jumping on your bed at 8 in the morning.

being 13 mustard often has trouble with his emotions and most of the time he'll go to compress for comfort but over he time he open ups to the others, dabi being one of the first and found out how much mustard enjoys physical affection when hes small and dabi cant help but be a big brother figure towards him.

Dabi is very observant and can tell when mustard is having a bad day or not.

Dabi sets a particulaly fussy mustard on his lap, making sure hes comfortable and starts to gently tickle his sides and teaseing him "c'mon buddy you don't wanna wake up the tickle monster would ya?" Eventually mustard gives in and lets out the most adorable giggles ever and dabi goes all in on the tickle monster gimmick.

"Oh nu uh uh its too late now buddy the tickle monster is here now and hes hungery for laughter now!"

Does more silly stuff like nibbling on mustard stomach and making "om nom nom" sounds. Despite all the teasing Dabi is always gentle with him since mustard would prolly accdently use his quirk if went too far and he does not want to take that risk so dabi always makes sure hes comfortable and would never overwhelm him and Mustard always feels better afterwards.

Mustard acts embarrassed about it when hes big but when hes upset it one of the things that make him feel better after a bad day

Toga manages to convince twice and dabi to hide and seek game and compress just watches dabi and twice chase mustard and toga around and he just smiles and joins in.

idk just the lov kiddos and just the lov on general being happy brings me so much joy

Okay I love these so so soo much. And maybe that is partially because of my recent obsession with just older sibling caregivers, but Dabi fits that roll perfectly ith these two and I just can’t. They’re too cute.

~Toga is an absolute gremlin with too much energy all the time. I think she reacts so much better with other people and her surroundings when she has that energy focused somewhere else so regressing and being playful helps so much and the excuse to just run around and act her age

~She has 100% bitten Twice while playing tickle monster. Really lightly kinda like how a puppy might nip their owner when playing. Just chomps on his hand in ‘retaliation’ before scampering off again giggling. (They just make me so happy, the father daughter duo actually.)

~More about Toga being a gremlin, you know those magnetic tiles that you can build like mini houses and structures out of? She asks Dabi to help her set up a huge city just so she can knock them all down. RIP Dabi trying to actually make something look nice, it’s going to be destroyed by a giggly two year old in about 20 seconds

~(Light hearted) nah nah nah gonna have to disagree with you on the sleep one. Toga wakes her big brother up at like five in the morning. It’s a miracle if she gets him up at eight or later. RIP Dabi’s sleep schedule, it will be missed

~I think that Mustard would just go up to Dabi and snuggle up against his side. Any reasoning as to why he does this is that the flame user runs warm, and he’s cold, obviously. Even if he’s offered a hoodie or a blanket, Mustard just keeps finding excuses to be glued to Dabi’s side

~Honestly laughter is just the best medicine and it’s so hard to stay grumpy when you have a stich in your side from laughing so much.

~Also I don’t know if anyone else’s parents did this but my mom when I was a child would wrap me in a blanket and pretend to ‘make me into a burrito’ which was essentially just tickling my sides as she added ‘ingredients’ anyways, my point being Dabi would 100% do that. A Mustard burrito one might say :3

Seroh definitely felt intimidated by sigrid at first (especially after hearing all the stories about her from the others) but also mesmerized immediately i think ^_^ but not really in a romantic crush way id say. Just fascination

Sigriiddd probably was indeed a little annoyed by serohs presence at first just because she grew weary of most people ( that just made me think about the foils question from the other ask and made me realise that they both warmed each other up in one way or another ....) but! i think since seroh was a new face (maybe theyve seen each other before but in that town everybody probably knew that theres this new guy around) she was willing to give her the benefit of the doubt

6. Do they have any shared interests/hobbies? Do they ever do these hobbies together?

Ooohhh okay what i need to do is research some more what sort of entertainment people were up to in medieval times because i cant really think of much right now. In general i think of them both as quite creative people but maybe they dont really have an outlet for that. I think sigrid is a great storyteller (took that up from her parents) and loves to listen to new stories and recite them to others and ect ect. Not so sure about seroh yet. Something to ponder. In a modern au though they would definitely do all sorts of arts and crafts together. Wait omg... Seroh doing pottery or creating jewellery...oidjhhhh. i like that.

16. Is one of them keeping secrets from the other?Why? How would they react if the secret was revealed?

Ooooohhh boy thats literally part of their story. Although deeply underdeveloped as the whole story is.. basically sigrid is hiding that. Thing that she found in that cave . And the fact that she worships it and believes it to be a certain sign from god. All that culminates in a ? Ritual ? Sigrid is going to do unbeknownst to seroh but by the magic of the narrative seroh does find her and i think in the moment she'd be really mad, mostly out of confusion and slight betrayal but they dont really have the time to work that out in the moment so they get separated on unpleasant terms

Davey and Rodya:

13. Do they have any disdain/contempt for each other? How do they show it?

Anon ily. After the initial break up? Yes, a lot of disdain. On both sides. For Davey its about the feeling of disappointment in someone he cared forz and frustration about "what could have been" if rodya wasnt a stubborn asshole. For Rodya its about the betrayal, about the "how could he not understand me?", about the anger he felt that davey didnt want to come to a compromise ect ect. On daveys end those feelings do fade away with time, whole rodya after the break up is sooo bitter and salty its insane, they do go no contact though. BUT THEN THE EXPEDITION:))))) And well having to work with rodya again and having to see some of the tendencies in him from the past did stirr up things in davey but at this point he wasnt really angry, just annoyed at most sometimes. Rodya...its complicated. Although both of them never really let go of what they have i think that goes especially for rodya which makes it a little crazeys in my mind because yes hes still kind of bitter but also i think he would also see this as an opportunity to rebuild a relationship between them of any kind (quite selfishly) and THAT that does annoy davey a lot. But . I think he'd give in 🫶 and theyre both a little weird about it

20. What is their best memory together?

Ahhh omg i think its the holiday they took to hmmm italy? I always imagine italy i dont know why its a little over done haha but maybe it should be something more unique. Either way thats not whats so important .. Whats special about this holiday is that 1. It was the first big holiday they took in a long while so they were so happy to finally NOT WORK. 2. Thats when rodya proposes to davey and davey says yes. Verryyy stereotypical i know but oh well

Well. Not to be that guyyyy but everything about the break up? Especially because it happend not very long after the engagement believe it or not 😭 The break up they had was very outstretched because a lot of things went unspoken for too long mostly because either of them were "too busy to deal with it". Davey hated seeing what rodya was turning into despite his attempts to help him and rodya was mad at davey for not "seeing his perspective" and ect ect. Also. Uhhhhmmm dont tell them but their answer to that will change after the stories finale. Shit gets dark

so the thing about this one… i don't actually know if i follow any "common" writing tips (or any at all, really); i just kinda do what feels natural to me and hope it all works out. i am absolutely not gonna tell anyone to do that because it's a recipe for chaos, but! i can give you tips that have become habits for me instead. so one thing that has helped me immensely when writing either a chapter or a one-shot is that i almost always start with the dialogue. it gives me a good structure for where everything is going and almost always serves as my outline. like, i have a general idea in mind for what i want to accomplish, but getting the dialogue down is kind of like coalescing some of those ideas into something tangible. so my entire WIP at that point will just be lines of dialogue in sequential order. then i write everything else around the dialogue. i know that's kind of a cracked way to do it and won't work for everyone, but i think the general takeaway is that you shouldn't be afraid to start a piece literally anywhere; you don't have to start with the opening sentence and end with the last sentence.

14: how do you write emotional scenes? do you ever feel what the characters feel? do you draw from personal experiences?

if i'm writing a scene that's similar to anything i've experienced in my personal life, i always draw from personal experiences as i feel like that makes the emotion more authentic. i do try to feel what the characters are feeling regardless of that; if i can get a sense for that, it makes finding the words to describe those emotions accurately. when i write those scenes i like to think about what each character is feeling, why they would be feeling like that, and what it is about their personality/backstory that would make them feel that way.

18: do you title your fics before, during, or after the writing process? How do you come up with titles?

titles are the bane of my existence. i hate them. i almost always title my fics after i'm done writing. many times i'll look to song lyrics because i find them helpful, but they can also convey the tone/general gist of the fic better than i can most of the time. i wish i was better at this, but alas. 😭

32: name three of your favorite fanfic writers.

ONLY three? 😭 i can and will gush about every single one of my moots all day long, so to make this easier on myself i'll pick three people based on my favorite thing(s) about their writing, kinda like separating them into genres or categories i guess? each of these people are incredible and amazing and i am very fortunate to have met them. go show them some love if you haven't read their work!

if you're looking for comedy, banter, and hijinks, look no further than @nerdallwritey. her series beauty and the bard is currently five parts long and has something for everyone! there's fluff, there's smut, and there's so much fun! her fics never fail to put a smile on my face and seeing a new fic in my inbox is like christmas morning to me. i adore the way she writes astarion, but everyone else always feels so genuine and perfectly in character as well. i've reread all her works several times and i cannot recommend them highly enough!

one of my favorite tavs belongs to @verbenaa; her longfic to eden is easily one of my favorites and one of the major sources of inspiration that got me to finish developing and writing for my own tav. if you're looking for incredible smut and a sassy, loveable tav, here you go! her prose are fantastic and the relationship she has between rin and astarion is such a treat to read. they play off one another so well! the last chapter really put me through the ringer in the best way and i cant' wait to see what else she has in store for us. she's also written some other one-shots and every single one of those i've read has been stunning!

one of my favorite all-rounder authors is @shewhowas39. her longfic juniper and starlight is a wonderful version of the game featuring her tav, June (who is an absolute delight and i love her very much). if you're looking for a wonderfully written durge fic you can really sink your teeth into, you've found it! there is always so much love and care and emotion in everything she writes, and it makes her work a true joy to read.

33: do you want to be published some day?

i think it would be fun! it's never something I've ever thought about actually doing, but i think having an actual book out there in the wild that i wrote would be really cool. who knows, maybe i'll have an idea for something some day.

54: what’s your favorite part about the fanfiction writing process?

hmm… this is tricky. for me, i really enjoy just getting an idea i'm excited about on the page and being able to share it with other people. i always feel accomplished when i finish a piece because it's very satisfying to create something from nothing; even if no one reads it, it's still exercising my creativity and engaging in a hobby i enjoy.

56: what’s something about your writing that you pride yourself on?

i'm not sure what parts of my writing are better than others, since i can only perceive it from my personal, limited perspective. however, as someone who came straight from academia and had never written fic until my first one-shot last august, trying to find my voice and seeing myself make genuine progress with that over the past year has been very rewarding! there are a few of my pieces that i really don't think hold up very well anymore, but knowing that i've improved since then is a good feeling. i always want to get better and hope i can keep doing that in the future!

58: what part of the writing process do you enjoy the most? (brainstorming, outlining, writing, editing, etc.)

definitely the brainstorming. i love daydreaming and thinking about all the possible ideas i could have for chapters or one-shots. i love thinking about stupid little jokes i could add in, or emotional scenes that make me kick my feet like a teenage girl or do 50 psychic damage straight to my brain. plus, there's far less stress involved in that process, since i don't have to actually commit anything to paper at that point.

65: tell us about what you’re most looking forward to writing – in your current project, or a future project.

i'm looking forward to getting over my current writer's block and finishing my kinktober prompts still! i'm very happy with 7/8 of the ones i've published so far, and even if the other 4 i was working on don't currently meet my standards, i'm confident i can come back and fix them up once i relax a bit and stop putting so much pressure on myself. i was having a ton of fun putting them together and i'm glad i participated this year.

77: do you have a favorite scene you’ve written from [Fanfic Name] story/chapter?

since you didn't specify a fic, i'll just write about something from my longfic, adrift~ i'm quite partial to the lake scene i wrote for chapter 6, when ysera finally gives in and opens herself up to astarion. on the one hand, it's a sweet moment of vulnerability for her, but also tragic in the sense that it's the moment she started to fall for astarion who is at this point very much still fully intent on using her for his own means. there's just a lot going on there for both of them and i enjoyed torturing myself while putting it al together.
