Looks like Singed is under Noxian custody (top left), which implies that the raid we saw in the teaser and the trailer lead to the widespread capture of multiple Zaunite citizens from multiple factions, including civilians.

And Jinx really is breaking these people out of jail. Jinx probably came for Singed first, but things happen and suddenly she's freeing everybody.

The irony shouldn't be lost on anyone that the most significant thing Jayce and Vi did in Zaun last season was lead a raid where not only were multiple unarmed workers physically assaulted by enforcers and a child was killed, but the civilian workers were still arrested in the end, including the child workers!

I'm just imagining Sevika charging into battle not knowing where her girls are. she hears whispers from the battlefield that Isha is dead and that Jinx is gone. taken. captured. surrendered. she doesn't want to accept either. she almost refuses. and it's in the back of her mind that she has to live so she can find her girls, and at the very least, remember them.

and she almost dies. she thinks that there might not be anyone to remember them. to find them.

and then she doesn't. she doesn't die. and one thing leads to another, and she's on the council. and....

she still doesn't know what happened to them.

and then Vi, the girl who, justifiably, hates her guts, comes back. and the look on her face all She needs to know Jinx is gone. but she can't accept it. she can't.

she demands to know what happened, in a clipped, gruff manner, not displaying much care, but her eyes are teary and her gut is churning.... and Vi just says they're gone.

and all Sevika can do is whisper "... both?"

and she doesn't wait for an answer. the face is enough. "how?".

the answer kills her.

she walks away. murmurs an apology over her shoulder.

she doesn't know what to do with the feeling in her chest. her fingers trace over the carving in her arm.

I switch between Bell MT and Poor Richard every once in a while!! And for Colorado-- this state would probably be nice to live in if it wasn't literally impossible to find stable housing-- I'm probably biased here because we've been having an ESPECIALLY rough go of it but . Both times we looked for apartments here the search took 3+ months to secure a place, with ~2,100 a month apparently being kinda low for this area. The majority of my coworkers are either currently looking for a place or were evicted/priced out of their last places so . TL;DR The housing situation is a literal nightmare around here

i decided to read jinx by mingwa despite not really feeling up for it (especially after the titans bride, since one of the guys has something similar going on downstairs) and i have to agree with the comments a bit. the story so far, overall, is too much like a bj (broadcast jockey) alex 2.0. like, if i wanted bj alex again i would have gone read that... the starting prompt is different but after character motives and relationships are established they kinda fall in line personality wise with dg & jiwoon, but more extreme; dan is even more meek, joo is even more aggressive. i would like to argue against it if only because i like dg and jiwoon more, but its glaringly obvious when it enters the part of the story where dan is rejected and just going through the motions with joo being unbelievably dense and frustrating to deal with.

with that aside, in my own opinion (aka this part isnt comments ive read) it also feels like mingwa looked at killing stalking, said 'i can make it romantic/not a horror thriller' and then went ahead and got it worse. i mean this genuinely: trying to re-tell that type of relationship without making it clear it wont end well or happy (not that the k/s author ever did either but i feel like thats more of an issue with how the bl tag works and expectations; a conversation i was already supposed to have but had completely forgotten oops). maybe a lot of bls are like this and shes just following protocol, what do i fucking know. i read these things in bursts, not in routine.

theres a significant amount of grey area for the characters (and a shitton of comments arguing about it not realizing theyre in a 'the grass is greener' position and its not as easy when youre involved in something toxic) but ultimately, dans exorbitant debt being paid off by joo transfered his hostage situation to him and forced him into a sex slavery role. and romanticized stockholm syndrome or not, i reached a point in the story where i actually thought 'this is not what granny would want but once she passes away dan should kill himself, better than the hell hes going through' like. if this is a romance, EVEN if its in the 'i can totally write good 50 shades of grey guysss' zone, if im having that kind of thought of the main character, it doesnt feel like its going anywhere good. (its ironic that he does eventually try even if subconsciously. oops) (its also an informed thought about my own status though; even if its bumfuck nowhere, he could live in that small village hes currently at, start over. - is what a person currently not going through the despair of life would think)

a big issue with this is also the pacing. wild what im about to say but it might have steven universe syndrome, where the pacing/hiatus interludes are grueling for those following live, but its a good experience once complete (ignoring the downhill pacing problems su had after the marriage ep because of the network, think instead of the early eps establishing why you should care for beach city when most fans wanted gem lore so early). mingwa has already given a loose timeline of the comic, and when you compare what you already have with what was given, it feels like another bad omen; too much time was spent in abusive scenes and not much time will be dedicated to the 'abuser regrets and grovels at the others feet, humiliation arc' and realizing the red-flags to green-flags trope in an effecient and satisfying manner. like... we are at chapter fucking 65 by now. joo has begun to suffer in many aspects of his life but the karma is barely enjoyable when the suffering is being transfered to dan by showing joo tracking down/stalking/tormenting him more by his mere presence. mingwa is the type of author that wants 'actions speak louder than words' type action, and while i appreciate joo getting dan out of the ocean that one night, his spare acts of kindness failing miserably due to lack of 'clearing the air' are not going down the way she wants them to go with the audience, or at least not with me. if you have around 60 chapters of just the escalation of abuse, the groveling for forgiveness after the breaking point should be 120 chapters is how i see it

(btw learned that people call this type of story red-flag to green-flag so it might be helpful in the future if i ever wanna read something similar. for all the flaws the concept has IT IS one of my weaknesses)

im not sure what else i can say. is this another case of morbid curiosity where i desperately want to see the author succeed at their plan and turn this story and my opinion around? i think so. especially because the prompt of the story is like the granchild of 'person in debt made to be property of loan sharks/mafia son/leader' and its funny i mention that because as i said before, loan sharks are involved but it ends up being a transfer of the 'property' to someone else more powerful.

ah well, whatever. i hope (edit i forgot to finish thiss sentence because i was struck with pissing on the poor realization in the next paragraph) the authors surgery recovery goes well! that is unrelated to the story but since its currently paused because of that, it does feel pertinent and obvious to mention. i dont know/remember if the surgery is for work related injuries but i wouldnt doubt it if it were the case, as comic artists are always doing too much

ps. you guys have media literacy and reading comprehension right. i dont need to add a disclaimer that none of this is acceptable irl, i dont condone the characters/actions etc right. because half the comments on the website ive been reading havent made it past this step and cant discuss the story more objectively due to adding morality roadblocks the whole way through.

I want to talk about THIS moment. Right before. There's a TON of people misreading Caitlyn's intent because she's using such a playful demeanor after Vi's sorrowful self-deprecation. To be honest, it's the best response she could have had, and the best tactic. Her demeanor serves as a stark contrast to the spiral of self hatred that Vi is going down, and it's an excellent distraction. Caitlyn is stopping her line of thinking, right then and there, and she does it while delivering one of the most romantic and understated declarations of love I've ever seen.

Stay with me here.

Let's be very clear: Caitlyn did NOT come to the cell with the goal of seducing Vi. Not even. How do we know? Aside from several context clues that come before this scene, the way Caitlyn responds to the kiss is very telling:

See how long it takes Cait to even register what the fuck is going on?? She's literally like "oh. OH. we're kissing? WE'RE KISSING." And Vi also OPENS HER EYES very briefly, to check that Caitlyn is as into this as she is, right as Cait settles into the kiss, likely sensing her hesitation/delayed reaction. This scene is NOT Caitlyn seducing Vi. This scene is Caitlyn giving herself to Vi, and Vi choosing exactly what she wants to do with her, which is VERY different.

What does Caitlyn say right before the kiss? She says, "Do you really think I needed all the guards at the hexgates?" Translation: I left Jinx's cell unguarded on purpose. I want you to know that I heard you during our last conversation. I want you to know that I trust you. I want you to know that my love and care for you is more important than my need to sate my grief and desire for revenge. I choose you.

And following: "Sorry to say, you've grown a bit predictable." Translation: I know you. I see you. I knew you would choose this, coming after your sister, and I facilitated the circumstances in which you COULD choose this. You don't choose wrong. You choose love, and I understand that now. I want you to know that I support your choices, and they won't cost you the people you care about, at least not me, not anymore. I know that you'll always choose your sister, and I've made peace with that. What you want is what I want.

That is MONUMENTAL. That's quite possibly one of the most romantic things I've ever seen in media. Because who the hell has the guts to give up their grief and forgive their mother's murderer, all for love? That's a level of sacrifice that not enough people are acknowledging.

People say Caitlyn never changed, never felt remorse, never grew from the bad choices she made. I say wrong. And this was the turning point.

Caitlyn

♡ It would likely happen during a calm evening, after she’s had time to gather her thoughts and find the right moment to say it.

"You have very lovely lips," Richard tells him. He moves his hand over to Grant's mouth to trace his lips with his index finger the way Grant was doing earlier.

Grant laughs when Richard says whispering about beans on toast was his third blow job signature. “Sorry, sweetheart. Just use a sexier breakfast food. Or if that won’t work do your fourth blow job signature move, you totally have one of those rights?” He teases, then laughs again when Richard says he wants to make beans and toast sexy. “Ugh, God. Please don’t ask me to eat beans off of you. Like, I’d probably do it ‘cause you’re fucking hot but please don’t ask,” he says with a grin that softens when Richard confirms they have a safe word now. “Beans and toast. Finally found the one good use for that combo,” Grant agrees with a cheeky grin. 

He’s surprised Richard was worried about him feeling pressured, since he hasn’t felt an ounce of pressure from Richard. Grant’s pretty sure everything about wanting to improve his blowjob skills and one-up himself all came from Grant himself, and it was all because that’s something he very much wants to do with Richard. It sounds fun to him. Exciting. Thrilling. So he’s glad it feels like they’ve got that all settled now, and that Richard is excited about Grant maybe trying more new things with him. Grant doesn’t have much in mind, but pretty much everything is new with Richard being his first guy and he’s already found new things he hadn’t even done with girls. He’s excited to see what else they get up to naked. He’s also  struck by the fact that Richard wanted to make his first time with him good.
