I honestly think we don't appreciate enough how much this whole sequence says in terms of Sera's characterization
Right from the incredibly transparent "wrong kind of elf" phrasing and down to the "let's help him in a way that's consistent with his beliefs so he can live well, but also let him know that being threatened with being ostracized for literally being disabled it shit and offer help there too"

(idk if anyone wants to keep hearing my opinions on totk book stuff but-)
apparently it says that rauru DID have kids, multiple even, which yeah... is kinda necessary for zelda to even be connected to them so much so that sonia can SENSE a blood connection (which, even with all the excuses with magic, is just a little too far for me to suspend my disbelief bc its over, OVER, ten thousand years worth of generations that seperate her from them that one lil touch of the hand can sense that (feels more like an attempt to make you care about them or .. see them as zeldas "better" parents just bc they exchange a few nice words, i never got the feeling they were 'better' parents and its also kinda disrespectful to her actual parents, like sure rhoam wasnt the best but i wouldnt call rauru better just bc he was polite)- i could see maybe the light power of hylia or sth but since its the coolest dude that ever lived rauru now that had it which still doesnt make sense and makes me unreasonably annoyed and she can sense BOTH of their powers in her? nah)
the fact theres NOTHING about them in the game itself is just so ... no way they planned any of this
i dont think theres anything they can do or say that wont make be believe they either
are making it up alla 'fix it in post' mentality trying to hastily explain stuff the game never bothers to do to try and appease fans or let it appear as if they thought about it at all
something went really REALLY wrong during development, which kinda seems likely given how the game turned out (im sorry i cannot let go, its not just the writing, the game design too and how little was changed in the map while being so damn expensive, i dont know how people dont feel scammed q_q)
given that they (allegedly) spent the last entire year of development on polish (where??? where????? huh??? like it would make it more understandable (EXCEPT for the price) if there was alot of trouble, which was also bc it got delayed and ... turned out like this, but they dont want to say it, especially given their reputation, with that quote i have heard way too many times 'a delayed game blah blah') i just??
are they just gonna go and do it like they did with kashiwa (kass)? "they uuuh where flying around the whole time ony cool sonau tech maschines, you just dont see or hear from them ooooorrr they were uuuuh out of the country at the time" (sending invitations to other continents to join their glorious kingdom ;) )
(bet they are also gonna say they did all the stuff like ... moving the shrines around (lol?) and lifting the islands up into the sky- which is still weird bc ... didnt they also say they were living in the sky before coming to the surface?? so where?? did they park all their islands on the surface and the mystery kids had the keys so they had to repark them back into the sky after they returned off camera?? xD also why are the islands so different as an environment if they where from the surface? like even the STONE up there is different- and if they were first in the sky then on the surface and the nback in the sky .. why is there not a single yellow tree or grass in the past- you cant really argue that it changed bc they were up there so long bc .. nothing else changed, the suddendly and totally always there sonau buildings are largely in prime condition, only some slightly moldy, and what we see of the glorious past looks barely any different from the present, aside from like ... some standard trees shuffled, no castle yet and that glowy uwu filter DESPITE that stupidly long time frame between it)

1820s to 1840s Evening Wear - 2 suits
Two little edits of that one beloved Vampires suit, with three things in common: Wide hips, a slightly higher collar, and the same swatches.
From the 1820s until the mid-1830s, the fashionable silhouette for men's clothing was wide hips, a slender waist and full shoulders. This look was generally achieved through padding, corseting, and most of all, tailoring.
In the latter half of the 1830s, this silhouette began to change. The shoulders became sloped, and a "pigeon-breasted" look became more fashionable. Hips were still just as wide and the waist just as narrow. The 1840s look was, of course, also usually achieved through unnatural means.
Basically: V1 is this 1820s to mid-1830s look, and V2 is the mid-1830s to 1840s look. V1 has puffy sleeves while V2 has sloped shoulders. V2 also has a slightly fuller chest.
Swatch 1-48: Tie and vest in white, suit in many different colors.
Swatch 49-60: Suit in black, tie in white, vest in various colors.
Swatch 61-65: Suit in black, tie in black, vest in a few different colors. These are intended to be mourning swatches.
Both are BGC!
Both have the same 65 swatches
All LODs (except LOD3 which refused to cooperate with me, so it's the LOD3 of the original vampires suit)

with my phantom hourglass replay, there are two things i noticed;
a possible theme you could glean from the game is action vs inaction, and i think it's especially prevalent before you even leave mercay the first time, with oshus frequently urging link to not go after the ghost ship, then to just wait until the broken bridge is fixed, and seems reluctant at every turn while link and ciela are more than eager to go and do something about this problem, and the people of mercay in general talking about things and their problems but never seeming to act on their fears or desires, as well as the mention that due to the ghost ship, very very few people are still sailing around, while linebeck is one of the only people we see in the game actively going after the ghost ship and still sailing around. i might make a longer post just talking more about the action vs inaction in phantom hourglass but i just noticed it a bit and thought it was a bit of an interesting sort of theme you could find in the game.
linebeck moves so fucking much. i think he moves more than any npc in the rest of the game. not just in his intro cutscene where he is very animated, just in how much he moves when just standing in his little idle post, it's damn near distracting when the camera is focused on him, he moves a lot. i don't think i've really acknowledged how much he moves, and it really gives the impression that he's antsy or eager to get going, both of which fit him pretty well with how he acts.

I think it's a good thing I been posting my crochets for as long as I have been with various angles and stages of finish and with me holding them and whatever because I feel like if I had only recently started and tried going for a more refined(??) approach to photographing them, at least one person would be like "ai 😒😒" fjsjfjskaojfjfsk

ohhh my gosh. Hilda S3E6: The Forgotten Lake. SO GOOD!!!!! some mild spoilers in this post, depending on what you think a spoiler is, then my full reaction to a very spoilery moment in the tags
it was actually VERY scary!!!?!!?!!! in my opinion??? maybe I just am particularly susceptible to finding that particular type of predicament scary, but I thought the antagonist was unique and creepy and seemed genuinely threatening, so, I just thought it was extra scary in a very impressive way. there was also at least one moment where it felt like the creators were like, "we're not gonna make you stress about this one" because the audience knew more than the bad guy did so you're pretty sure Johanna's gonna be fine in that moment, which was a nice break. haha maybe I'm overthinking it but just, wow, what a fantastic episode.
also Johanna's total Badass In An Action Movie moment!!!!!!!! fuck yeah!!!!!!! wielding that fuckin rotator saw or whatever, with the hand that had just been sliced up!!! the hand that she wrapped up with a shred of her hoodie that got torn on a branch while running away from an ancient creature trying to eat her?!????!!!!!! I'm in love. not to mention all the backstory we get on her!!!!!! parents!!!! ahhh!!! been loving all of that in general this season.
omg also that montage in the beginning of Johanna and Hilda exploring killed me dead, it was so wonderful :3
