something happened yesterday after dinner.

my sister used my cards for a reading and because she actively practices her craft, she's better at reading than me and is able to sense energies (she's 16). i lit an incense and everything was fine until she started shuffling and said she was getting a very masculine energy, which is odd for both of us because we, separately, always seem to attract feminine energies. my last couple of readings have felt very maternal in the way they guide.

she kept saying it was mad, but but not at her. she thought with my alter being in a very open space, the energy of everyone gathered in the same room was affecting it and making her feel drained, and the incense smoke kept shifting directly to her face, and mine when i took her place. we move to my bedroom so there would be more privacy.

again, she felt the same masculine energy. she said he presented himself with broad shoulders and lots of fur coverings. long hair. tall. definitely not greek, which is the pantheon she works with.

long story short, odin reached out before everyone came over and told me to cover my alter and i unintentionally ignored him and Did Not do that. so he decided to yell to my sister about it :)

Artem wipes the sweat from their brow and looks around their apartment. Everything was finally fully cleaned up.

Everything that could be salvaged has been, and orders to replace what could be replaced have already been sent out.

Still doesn’t stop how empty everything still feels…

It’s not even just the seeing the holes where something Should Be, the space itself doesn’t have the feeling of their magic anymore. Spells like that, that are meant to last take energy to make and maintain it could, energy that took time to recover and build. Beyond that some of the woven pieces physically took weeks to make. It could take months to ward their apartment to the point it was at before.

But it will get done.

A small silver lining: less stuff makes it easier to rearrange everything. Their old room is now the kids room. Having three small mattresses pushed together was impractical for them but- now each of the kids gets their own bed in the shared room-they know they made the right call.

Now with everything cleaned up and rearranged it was time, they sent a crane to Alvi reading

Refreshing my altars and shrines, and updating my wards... I've been in a bit of a magical rut for the last few weeks and figured it was time to update everything since my practice has changed significantly in the last few months. My shrine space now focuses on my faerie faith and the sea spirits themselves that I work with on the ship, as well as space for the spirits I specifically work with and my ancestors, and my working altar has been cleaned and prepped for magical workings again, now with new supplies mostly gifted by people I love.

Tonight's *woke issue* is him whining about scholarships to his program and how he's not eligible for most of them because he's "a straight white man", he spits 'i should be a gay black queer (derogatory)'

And let me be clear. These are not major scholarships. These are MINOR bursaries meant to assist disadvantaged students in going to trade school at the local community college. Tuition is not high. This aims to bridge the gap for students from severely underprivileged backgrounds, for women in the trades, for first generation Canadians, Indigenous students, etc.

It's not some DEI conspiracy. It's literally, to our family, not THAT significant amount of money. A couple hundred bucks maybe. Yes we grew up poorish, but not destitute. And have moved to a solidly lower middle class since I was a teen.

Not to mention!!! HE HAS A CUSHY SCIENCE DEGREE FROM A FANCY UNIVERSITY he's just decided he doesn't want to use it because he's lazy and it would require actual academic thinking in the workplace, and to paraphrase, he wants to work in trades so he can be paid a lot and not have to be 'pc' in the workplace. Because of course. That should be his biggest concern. He's drawn to the trades bc the benefits of unions and then whines and bitches about unions at every opportunity.

He's whining about the RELATIVELY LOW tuition to trade school at the local community college while he has NO OTHER expenses bc he lives here and our mother waits on him hand and foot bc he's the favourite child. But apparently he has nooooo money from the last 8 months he spent working. It definitely wasn't wasted on booze and weed and the shitty exploitative racist tourism trip he's planning with his bestie who I hate
