so about the whole reckless as a trauma response thing, i see sirius as someone whos been through a lot right? i think he have severe ptsd obviously i can't diagnose him bc im not a professional, but i was reading about it and recklessness is a symptom of ptsd. 1/2

oh yeah, that’s an interpretation i can definitely get behind! sirius always going for the high over slow, steady because it’s the only way he can feel anything.

there’s actually so much angst potential with this, tbh. like both a james & non james world. a sirius who turns towards substance abuse, a sirius who lives recklessly & goes for extreme sports etc regardless of risk to his life, a sirius who never cares about personal safety. now this is so much better than the usual ‘sirius is an impulsive idiot’ thing that goes around.

and the gryffindor thing was a very random addition haha like,,,i was thinking of group cultures that would make the houses distinct (and how their house traits would show up in like, a tangible form right?) and maybe each house has certain traditions that really embody their traits ykno? so, gryffindor with like—an extreme activities competition where they have to do increasingly risky/adventurous stuff and everyone’s cheering the others on and it’s just like. a cycle that keeps getting more intense ykno?

i sort of thought Chilchuck's whole I cheated on her thing was actually that his wife cheated on him because he was away so much?. so it was a half truth. things fell apart because of cheating but he was willing to forgive her but she left anyway. what do you think?

It’s not that that couldn’t plausibly happen in their situation/relationship, but there’s nothing in canon that points towards that at all (especially the forgiveness bit which would mean they’ve talked about it and Chilchuck knows) so I really wouldn’t say it’s implied or likely. It’d be an interesting headcanon to explore in fanfics though~

OOH this is a good question :0 despite being a very hopeless romantic optimistic person in most scenarios, i tend to think the worst when it comes to movie/tv show endings actually !!! like even within the last few months i've cried over endings and then found out im in the minority who thought the ABSOLUTE worst of what it meant and that most ppl did not interpret it the same way AT ALL lmasfdoDSLJFODSJASO

like i'll be like that movie was so sad i cant believe x died and every review written is like no they didnt. and im like oh. ok.

so my first watching of the end, i def thought driver died! i even expected him to visibly bleed out and die on screen and was surprised it wasn't shown (which i def think was on purpose.) but i think people who believed he didn't die have good reason to! he's got a lot of mc/plot armor and his past/characterization makes it more believable for him to survive such a situation.

i'd love to know what you think and what the majority between your friends is!

SO. what does this all mean.

BUT

These two, while like obviously important to the band with Andrew being the longest running bassist and Atom being a year shy of being tied with Warren for longest running drummer, Laura can make the situation work as it has happened several times where either a drummer will leave OR both the drummer and bassist will leave the band within short time frames. It sucks but the band has managed to keep going twice with the rhythm section having to be fully replaced.

BUT

What matters most is James. James isn't TECHNICALLY a founding member but he is what made the band a 4 piece and his arrival (right around the release of Crime) is when the band really started Being Pretty Serious and like The Truest Lineup of the band to Laura. And so like he has stayed with the band for over 20 years through 8 entire members coming and going over the years. So like, Laura does not see the point in keeping the band name if the last remaining core member dips, at that point the band is just Not The Band Anymore in her eyes. So we just kinda wait for if/when James comes back. Like his pedal business is going super great for him, he's probably going to be Frank's tech for the Dunes summer tour since he posted from the rehearsal yesterday, and most of all there's always behind the scenes stuff exists that We Don't Know, so who knows what the future holds! Laura is keeping the faith that thing will be back eventually.

After landing that spot on the When We Were Young festival, I would love to see 5SOS get invited to the European summer festivals. They were on the bill for the Dutch festival Pinkpop in 2020, so I don’t see why they wouldn’t get invited again. It would be a cool ‘step up’ from radio station festivals in terms of being valued as a ‘credible’ band. ~ Rema

I agree! If I remember correctly, Ashton recently mentioned the band was interested in doing more festivals and I think there's plenty off of 5SOS5 that lends itself to a festival setting and vibe.
