anyone who says “i’m in charge of my own destiny” does not own a cat because my 10 pound orange boy tells me when to get up and go to sleep and he could probably convince me to ignore a hero’s journey if he was already comfy on my lap

Sakura and Kakashi's relationship has a pretty contentious start.
Tea Country had just gone through a brutal civil war, and Konoha, eager to reestablish friendly relations (and trading routes), sent Kakashi to escort the newly seated Daimyo's advisor across tea country as she relays his will.
Kakashi then proceeds to go through an entire amusement parks worth of emotional rollercoasters when he discovers that Sakura is said counsel.
So not only is his previous student alive and well, she's his client. All his pack instincts are in overdrive and conflicting with the anbu ice in his veins- the one that demands immaculate professionalism. Sakura isn't particularly happy about his appointment, but she's got bigger worries- though they clash multiple times over the course of several weeks as they travel from town to town.
Sometime after Sasori gets buried, (so about a year or so of delicious tension) that's when their romance starts- though it's very tentative and Kakashi is the first to catch mad feelings as he realizes just how much he appreciates this new, changed Sakura (turns out that wasn't just professional admiration lmao). After their first few clashes, they get along very well, and Sakura's claws sharpen his teeth better than anyone else's.
Sakura is dry and funny, pragmatic in a way that the shinobi in him appreciates, carrying herself with confidence and deft that Kakashi finds extremely attractive. All these new feelings war with the guilt of leaving her behind when she was young, for not fighting hard enough- not to mention the complete inappropriateness of crushing so hard on a former student...
That and the fact that he enjoys it when she makes him heel- our mans is having a very hard time.

Once again, thank to everyone for all the kind words and all the support for this AU!! <3 <3

Not spoilers for a potential part two of this, but I'm just saying~~~
Imagine being an unsuspecting Tanjiro going after Giyuu to convince him that's he's worthy of being a Hashira, help out with the training, et cetera only to arrive at the Water Estate and see Giyuu sitting outside by the fence with the most kicked puppy expression and a small red bump on his head.
"...Tomioka-san, why are you out here?"
"(y/n) whacked me with her frying pan and told me not to come back in until I apologized for apparently acting like a jerk at the meeting...I don't get what I did wrong."
Then Tanjiro being Tanjiro gives Giyuu the canon pep talk and when Giyuu confidently walks back into his house to see you and your son, you reluctantly (lies, you could never reject him, not when he looked that cute and hopeful) accept his apology and he happily takes his kid to coo and blow raspberries at, much to a delighted Tanjiro's wonder at seeing his idol be so open.
"By the way, Yuu-kun, do you know who sat on my flowers? I've been trying to grow them by the fence and when I went to go check on them they were absolutely flattened," you remarked crossly, stirring the contents of the pot waaay too aggressively, proceeding to bang down a pan before noticing a certain mess and gasping.
"When I find out who they are - ooh, no, nope, don't drool on daddy, baby." The Water Pillar had never been so happy about liquid...even if it was the saliva dribbling from his son's mouth (hey, it saved him from having to come up with something to his empty threat).
Giyuu pretended to be just as invested in attending to your giggling child and Tanjiro wisely decided not to say anything.

I love the captain as much as any of you, that much should be clear. but I have to say it. sometimes you guys make him too nice. in your fics and your art and whatnot. he's sensitive yes but when he gets overwhelmed he gets mean. he is commanding and snippy and rude. yeah maybe he'd apologize or ask for a hug or admit he was wrong or whatever but it would be a JOURNEY to get there. he's got like 8 different walls up at any given time and when you threaten one he gets cunty. please don't deny him his right to be a bitch.

i know most people think for some reason cellbit's not in on the joke that roier is melissa (do you guys know what pretending is pls) but personally im very enamored with the thought of cellbit as the most annoying most supportive drag husband ever; he helps roier pick out outfits, he brings dollar bills in case he has to get people tipping, he scream-sings along to the music way too loud, and basically makes a (very endearing) nuisance of himself. all the while he pretends melissa is just his favorite drag queen and that he's really passionate (both true but also that is literally his husband and everyone knows this they just like being silly)
