Hello there!

A few of my favorite Star Wars headcanons about clones
• Parental instinct
I've noticed that some clones have a highly developed paternal instinct.
I think Cut with his little family is not only one.
Hunter showed concern for childrens safety from the very beginning, like Kaleb and Gungi (surviving Wookie Jedi). He looks after Omega like his own daughter, as do the rest of the Bad Batch. Hunter definitely plays the role od father in his team as a responsible and a little overprotective leader.
Echo is the most mature in my opinion and in my eyes he will always be a mommy.
Waxer immediately felt the need to care for the newly met child and had no problem with hugging or comforting little Numa when she started crying. I just know that he loved children and secretly dreamed of starting a family, but he put himself entirely at being a soldier and protecting those who can not protect themselves.
Even Boil had grown strong bond owith Numa after some time and wanted to protect her at all costs.
I think Rex would also make a great father figure. He felt a strong need to take care of others. He acted as a mentor or an older brother for Ahsoka, and when he met Omega, he immediately got in touch with her. It's worth mentioning how he immediately stood between her and Bad Batch when he found out that the boys hadn't removed their chips yet. He remembered perfectly well what happened during Order 66. I'm sure he felt guilty that he had almost executed his longtime friend who trusted him with all her heart. He also felt responsible for his brothers who died in this tragic event.
I think this paternal instinct comes straight from Jango Fett's genes, who cared for Boba and loved him, and adopt him as his son. Jango asked specifily for him and knew from the very beggining that he want to adopt this kid. The Mandalorian culture is known for being easily attached to children, and they often decided to adopt kids, as fathers and mothers, and raise them like their own.
• Overprotective Hunter
Hunter is, in my opinion, the most sensitive and emotionally mature of the Bad Batch. He can read the feelings of others, especially those closest to him, so he always knew when something was wrong. Perhaps his enhanced senses have something to do with this.
He also has a tendency to be overprotective.
As a leader, he put the good of the squad before his own. I'm sure that running and hiding from the Empire, the constant pressure on his shoulders, was very tiring for him.
Hunter tried to protect Omega and his brothers the best way he could. That's why, the loss of any member of his family was a hard shoot in the heart for him. He sees it as a personal failure, as he failed his loved ones. He may start to think that Crosshair's words as true, that maybe he shouldn't be the leader, but he hasn't told anyone about his feelings and his own doubts.
But I think Echo knew... Echo knew that Hunter was worried and tired of the constant responsibility.
• Hunter and his senses
Hunter is a synesthete. This means that what he feels with one of his senses also affects the others. For example: he sees sounds, he can taste colors or numbers have colors for him. His synesthesia is a side effect of his enhanced senses.
Due to his heightened senses, Hunter also felt pain more intense than the other clones.
I still remember the moment Omega snuggled up to him after rescuing her when she was kidnapped by Cad Bane. Hunter winced in pain for a moment as his chest wound still was fresh. He had been shot with a blaster and almost get himself k!lled, and yet the most important thing to him was Omega. He ignored his own discomfort and focused fully on Omega, making sure nothing happened to his little girl. The expression of pain quickly turned into relief.
• Family
Some time after Omega joined the Bad Batch, they agreed on the role of family members:
Omega is their little sister, of course Hunter play the role of a father, while Echo is hailed as a mother. Our grumpy little bean muttered something about this being stupid idea at first, but in the end he liked being called mommy Echo.
Echo is a great addition to this crazy squad. He is the most experienced and can keep his family in line. It will never stop to amaze me how much good and love is hidden in the heart of a man who has never known a moment of comfort in his life and to whom no one has ever shown love. His physical and mental health were very bad after the events at Skako Minor. There was almost nothing left of the inexperienced Reg from the 501st Legion. Despite this, he will always remain my favorite character in all of Star Wars universe.
Wrecker is basically a second baby and needs to be looked after more than Omega, because if you let him out of your sight for a moment, he'll probably make a big mess.
Wrecker had the mind of a child trapped in the body of a large man. He is strong and could cause fear, but he have a soft heart. He cared for those closest to him, especially Omega. When his little sister was having a bad day and was sad, Wrecker was the first to make her laugh and even shared Lula, his beloved doll, with her.
I like to think that Tech and Crosshair are sort of twins (like Echo and Fives) they're a great duo and I miss their interaction so much. Tech, as the wise one, did not get in the way of the others, offering his advice when needed. Crosshair, on the other hand, although he seems cold and very distant, I think he would quickly like Omega and become a supportive, slightly sarcastic brother to her.
• Crosshair is not as cold as he looks
Crosshair hated being different, and called a freak from the very beggining. All his life he tried to blend in, to do his job well as a soldier, and as a member of the team. He didn't show it, but he was touched by other people's words about their group, different look, and specific abilities. That's why he hated Regs so much, he wanted to prove his worth to them. And also to himself.
When I saw Crosshair for the first time, I thought that he must have quite low self-esteem and become nervous in stressful situations. Whenever he took off his helmet, we saw him immediately reach for a toothpick. He felt the need to have something in his mouth to relieve the stress and tension in his body. He always seemed to me to be the type of perfectionist who pays great attention to detail and will practice until he achieves perfection in a specific field.
Despite his specific style, Crosshair wasn't as cold as he seemed. He really cared about Omega, and I'm sure that if they had the chance to spend more time together, Crosshair would like the girl and treat her like his little sister. He will destroy anyone who tries to harm Omega.
I also think that Crosshair secretly loves animals, especially cats. I imagined that it started with Wrecker once bring a white, homeless kitten to the Marauder. The animal started fawning at Crosshair's legs and refused to leave him even for a second. In the end, Cross liked it, petted him and cuddled with him, and even let him sleep in bed with him. Having a pet was a stress reliever for him. He named his kitten Alpine.
• The past still hurts, just as much as before
Echo often had terrible nightmares. We can see in the Bad Batch, that his PTSD was still very strong. Every contact with medical equipment could trigger a severe panic attack and anxiety. Fortunately, Omega was there to support him at the time. I'm always touched that even though Echo didn't know Omega back then, he trusted her enough that her presence really helped him come back to reality and understand that he was safe.
I'm sure that he had nightmares about being tortured and locked at Skako Minor, and also dreamed of Fives. I think because of this he may have even been afraid to fall asleep, and as a result he slept very little.
He missed his brother so much and blamed himself for not being there when he died. Echo was afraid of being locked up and deprived of help, so he tried to get involved as much as possible in the fight against the Empire. I think that was one of the main reasons he went back to Rex.
I also think that Echo and Tech had long conversations and spent a lot of time together while repairing or piloting the ship. They got along the best of the whole team and only with Tech, Echo felt relaxed enough to be able to talk about his feelings and problems he was struggling with. Tech never asked, like the overprotective Hunter, he just listened, and that was enough for Echo to discover a soul mate similar to his fallen brother, Fives.
I imagine one night Tech found out that Echo couldn't sleep and asked him what happened. Echo was so surprised that someone actually asked him how he felt that he didn't know what to say at first. He finally decided to open up and confess what was on his mind. Tech understood him and they became very close from then on. That's why Echo suffered so much after losing Tech. He felt as if he had lost half of his soul again.
I imagine that, Echo was the only one from the Bad Batch to still use Mando'a. He and Fives used to speak this language among themselves. Fives nicknamed him Ech'ika (little Echo). Now, Echo used to call Omega ad'ika. After Fives death, Echo sang an old anthem - Vode an (Brothers all) to honor the memory of his fallen brother. They had learned it when they were still cadets and used to sing it together before going into battle and all 501st knew the lyrics. This is one of my favorite headcanons.
I'm sure that Echo got a tattoo of a five in honor of Fives' death. In this way he always carried his brother with him and wanted to honor his memory.
• Nightmares
Omega took a while to get used to her new home after leaving Kamino. I imagine she often had nightmares that made her afraid to go to sleep alone. Hunter saw that and let the little girl sleep with him. He told her some stories about the planets they had visited on missions, and the bond between them grew stronger. He didn't admit it, but he had fond memories of those times together.
• Fives and his twin
If Fives survived, he would be the first to side with Rex to save Echo. Seeing his beloved brother alive, but connected to computer and badly hurt, he would be both happy and devastated at the same time. Fives would do absolutely anything to be reunited with his beloved twin, even if the whole Galaxy was against him and thought he's crazy.
After being rescued, Fives would make sure Echo was fewling comfortable and help him overcome his PTSD episodes. Then he would join the Bad Batch with Echo, because he didn't wanted him to feel different. Despite some problems, the Bad Batch accepted them as their own and they became very close, like family. I pictured them sitting around fire and how they shared stories from various missions together.
Then Fives saw that Echo was trully happy. He hugged him close, and when Echo asked what happened, Fives simply replied, "I'm just happy you're here, vod'ika. That's all."
• Astronomy lesson
Tech taught Omega astronomy. How to read sky maps and name constellations. They often sat together at night, watching the sky. Hunter would get a little angry when they stay up too late, fearing that both his brother and little sister would be sick, but his anger faded quickly when he saw the smile on Omega's face. Papa Hunter would do anything to make his little girl happy.
• Two captains
Howzer is Rex's twin, like Fives and Echo. They are giving the same vibe. They trained together from an early age, still as cadets, and then the war separated them. They are also very similar in character. Courageous and great leaders, they do not abandon their people until the very end. I feel they would get along pretty well.
• Brothers for life
Cody was like an older brother to Rex. His ore'vod. He trusted him the most of all the clones. They were inseparable from the beginning of the war and became very close after the Umbara ARC. I imagine Cody was comforting a devastated Rex. He knew perfectly well that under the mask of captain's determination there was a lot of pain and suffering after loss of many brothers. They were both good people who saw a lot of evil and death in their lives. They carried mourning in their hearts and finaly were able tolet go all their emotions. It was the first time Rex had let tears flow in his brother's arms. He felt loved and safe, and Cody didn't let him go for a long time. From this moment, they looked at each other a bit differently, carefully analyzing the other's emotions and making sure that everything was okay. Besides being strong and serious leaders, they were caring and loving brothers on the inside.
Also, I just know that they were having small competition. The 501st and 212th were competing against each other as to which legion/batalion was more effective in combat. General Kenobi and Anakin secretly supported this fun game.
• Suffering medic
Kix put a lot of pressure on himself as a medic. He wanted to save as many lives as possible and not let a single soldier die. He always fought to the very end, refusing to rest until the last man was healed. Each death of his brother was equally painful for him and he treated it as a personal failure.
Umbara left a huge mark on him. He failed. So many of his brothers had fallen, and he worked until he was breathless. Only when he was so exhausted, that he could no longer stand on his own, he agreed to take a break.
Kix sat alone against the wall, looking at his hands, and cried quietly. His hands and armor were covered with the blood of his brothers. Some of them were badly hurt, others didn't make it. Kix wished he were in their place right now and felt guilty. It was hard for him to be the one that survived.
He didn't know how long he sat like that, but at one moment he felt a gentle hand on his shoulder and a calm voice that he recognized immediately. It was Jesse. His best friend, his brother... Jesse told him that he did everything he could, that it wasn't his fault, but Kix wasn't convinced.
Then Jesse, seeing how bad his brother's condition was, that he started shaking, without thinking much, he wrapped his arms around Kix, pulling him into a tight hug. The medic did not protest and gave vent to his emotions and helplessness. It was the first time anyone was interested in his health. He had always been responsible for others and now someone was taking care of him. It felt nice, warm... Kix hugged back his brother and they both know that they feel the same way.

Why would you brag about Oklahoma? Its nothing but a conservative hotbed of a state.
While I agree and it totally sucks that part sometimes, the younger generation of Okies in my area are pretty openly liberal. Things are slowly changing all over the place and I will always have hope for the future generation of my home. And with that...
The Clones As Things I Love About My Homestate
Rex- Nothing beats watching the sunrise and sunset on the plains. Theres something peaceful about the sound of the wind in the grass, the smell, the views Echo- Bricktown, OKC! Bricktown was the main warehouse district for the area and once it was sort of done with, the area was abandoned and run down for a few years. That changed when they started updating the abandoned buildings and now its a booming entertainment district with amazing restaurants, shops, and a little canal. Fives- Hockey scenen is actually pretty tight! OKC has the Blazers, and Tulsa has an ECHL team, the oilers! The youth hockey and figure skating is also growing nicely.  Jesse- Route 66. The classic american roadtrip. I have ridden the entire thing and let me tell you it really can be amazing. Every little small town is warm and welcoming and will immediately dive into the history of route 66 in their town if you ask.  Kix- Some of the coolest local shops and products in almost every town.  Tup- Softball BAYBEEEEE. OKC is home to the International Softball Complex and the softball hall of fame Dogma-Oklahoma has 11,611 miles of shoreline, more than the combined non-tidal coasts of the Atlantic and the Gulf of Mexico. Hardcase- SOME OF THE BEST DAMN FOOD YOU COULD ASK FOR. Sonic, Braums, Jimmy’s egg, Hideaway Pizza ( @ct7567329 confirmed) Coric- OKLAHOMA! The musical.  Bly- Turner Falls is a popular place to go swim and explore.  99-The Native American culture you can experience in all areas of the state. Seriously guys. I am a member of the Chickasaw Nation (bio mom being a seminole/chickasaw ) And I am always amazed going to the centers of tribes and embracing the history and culture with so many others. Its a great way to support tribes by donating, learning about the history, spreading awareness, and buying local products from Native owned stores and shops. We may not be able to change history but we sure as hell can redirect the future to a brighter one. Cody- The Honey Bee is our state insect. PROTECT THE BEES! Waxer/Boil- We got some pretty cute critters around, and some not cute ones. But Oklahoma’s wildlife is so diverse! Wolffe- During tornado season, it doesn’t matter who you are, what your beliefs are, or what you follow we all look out for one another. Storms have a way of devastating lives, My family lost not one but TWO houses in major tornados and the warmth and love I remember from neighbors and strangers alike when we were rebuilding our community together will always hold a special place in my heart. Tornado Alley crowd bands together and we watch one another. Boost/Sinker- We are the ONLY state with an official state meal:  Fried okra, squash, cornbread, barbecue pork, biscuits, sausage and gravy, grits, corn, strawberries, chicken-fried steak, pecan pie, and black-eyed peas and its all Delicious! Hunter- Watching Bison as you drive through one of the wildlife preserves. They are free range and get so close to your car sometimes, its surreal.  Wrecker- BOOMER SOONER. Proud OU football fan, but the band is really the coolest(Sorry to THE Ohio State University band) Tech- Gordon Matthews, born in Tulsa, was the inventor of an electronic communication system to store audio messages patented in 1982. We know it as voicemail. Thanks to an Okie, you don’t have to answer your phone when people call and can just leave a message! Crosshair- 4 mountain ranges have sections in Oklahoma, Ouachitas, Arbuckles, Wichitas and the Ozarks. I love hiking in them all!

Storm of the Republic
Chapter 9
AO3 Link | 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9
——————————————————————————————
Summary:  When Tup murdered General Tiplar during a battle, Anakin Skywalker and Captain Rex dispatched Ahsoka, Fives, and Yara to solve the mystery that was plaguing the Clone Army. Meanwhile, Senator Padme Amidala contacted Commander Fox, Commander Tori, Riyo Chuchi, and Dipper to help her continue investigating the death of Palpatine, suspecting that Dooku was behind the evil plot. But when Dooku send an ISB agent to stop them, the team had to race against time to search for the truth, which could alter the course of the galaxy.
————————————————————————————
Jumping out of hyperspace, the 212th Attack Battalion and Coruscant Guards have arrived at the planet Horuca. Led by General Obi-Wan Kenobi and Commander Thire, respectively, both the battalions were armed to the teeth, prepared to take down their enemies.
Horuca was a planet which was surrounded with colourful plants and mountains on the surface. Similar to a tropical jungle, the rainforest was thick and was surrounded with fog, showing that it was raining cats and dogs.
The ocean surrounding the planet was pastel pink, but thanks to the dark purple clouds in the sky, the water looked rough to swim or catch some fishes in the sea. But Marshal Commander Cody doesn’t let it stop them from fighting.
To him, the heavy rain gave an advantage for them to hide themselves from the Imperial battle droids, which weren’t equipped for this kind of weather. Still, that doesn’t mean the Empire wouldn’t send aqua droids after them.
“Alright men,” he spoke, catching the attention of his troops. “In a few minutes, we will land in the shallow part of the beach. Make sure you get into position. We don’t want to leave anyone behind.”
“Yes, sir,” the 212th answered in unison. Faven put on her helmet as she took a deep breath, hoping she would die in this battle.
“You seemed down,” Boil pointed out, making her face him with her unimpressed stare. “Is everything alright?”
“Who wouldn’t be down, Boil? For all we know, this could be my last mission in the war.”
“Hey, come on. Aren’t you supposed to be cheerful right now?”
“How can I, when Amala is not here anymore?”
Boil was speechless. He knows who Faven was referring to. Both of them were close since the Second Battle of Geonosis. They didn’t know each other on Kamino, but it didn’t matter to her.
Faven blamed herself when she watched Amala killed in the trenches. It happened so fast. One moment, she was firing against the battle droids. The next thing she knew, her best friend was lying on the ground, blood spilling from her helmet.
I miss her so much; she thought about her. I wish I could see her again.
“I’m really sorry, Fav,” Boil sympathised with her. “It’s difficult coping with someone’s death, especially when they’re close to you.”
She bobbed her head and turned to her brother. “I’m sorry about Waxer too. He was a great guy.”
“Yeah, Waxer,” his voice quivered, before clearing his throat. “Well, at least he’s in a better place now. Somewhere peaceful, where there are flowers everywhere.”
Faven smiled. “Waxer always loved flowers, especially the yellow ones. And I’m sure Amala is there with him too, carrying a bunch of rabbits in her arms.”
Boil chuckled as he put on his helmet, agreeing with every word she said. “We should get moving. We don’t want to be left behind.”
“Right beside you,” she gave a small salute, as she stood in front of Obi-Wan, who gave her a warm smile.
“Good luck, all of you,” he wished them. “May the Force be with all of us.”
The trap door opened below them, with the icy wind blowing towards them. Taking a deep breath, Faven and Boil exchanged a look of determination with each other and jumped towards the pink ocean.
Holding her breath, she quickly swam towards the surface and exhaled, wiping the surface of her helmet. Glancing at the rings in the rainy lavender sky, Faven stared at the beauty above her. Amala would have loved this place.
Commander Cody and Obi-Wan were the last ones to join them, along with the Corrie Guards, with Commander Thire and Commander Stone leading them. “Is everyone accounted for?” Cody asked, counting all of his troops present.
“We’re all here, Commander,” Crys reported.
“Thire, Stone, are all your troops present?”
“They’re all here, Cody,” Thire informed him. “Though I wish Fox and Thorn were here with us right now.”
“We can’t all have everything. Now come on, Team B is counting on us.”
“Yes, sir,” Hyewon saluted respectfully, marching beside her brothers and sisters.
Since she survived the Battle of Coruscant, the Corrie Guard is determined to prove her worth on the battlefield, where she had no experiences at all. Hyewon may have trained in a simulation, but when she was shipped off to Coruscant, she didn’t get the chance to fight battle droids like the rest of them.
Instead, she had to deal with prisoners who caused nothing but stress. There are prisoners who were decent with her, and there are prisoners who made a mess for her to clean up.
Hyewon pitied the ones who were in jail for something they’ve never done, and she also felt sorry for prisoners who were only there for self-defence. She thought they deserved better, and the Republic had failed them. I hope they’re okay.
As they approached closer to the island, Obi-Wan sensed something unusual in his surroundings, prompting the troops to stop in their tracks. “Be on guard,” he advised them, gesturing towards the rocks. “We may be watched.”
“You heard the general,” Cody barked. “Stay hidden behind those rocks. Our enemy might be closer than you think.”
Hyewon nodded as she hid beside Boil and Faven, who she never interacted with till today. “I hope you don’t mind me joining you both. All my friends died on Coruscant.”
“Don’t mind at all,” Faven offered her hand. “I’m Faven, by the way. This is Boil. We went all the way back to Kamino.”
“Pleasure to meet you,” she shook her hands. “I’m Hyewon, from the Coruscant Guard. I was discharged from a coma a few days ago, so this is my first time on the battlefield.”
“I have faith that you’ll survive this,” Boil encouraged her. “Trust me, you’ll do great out there.”
Thire saw the three of them having an animated conversation with each other and tossed her a binoculars, making her attentive. “I understand you want to catch up with what you’ve missed, but please pay attention. We’re at war right now.”
“Sorry, sir,” apologised Hyewon, as she scanned the entire area, which was suspiciously empty. “But where are our enemies, anyway? I don’t see anybody in my scope. Not even a single soul, Commander.”
“It’s strange for the Empire to sneak around, but we’ll have to be patient,” Stone said. “It’s one of our best options right now.”
“That sounds boring,” Harley expressed her opinion, expecting more fun for her. “I came here for some action, not to wait the entire day long.”
Cody couldn’t agree more with his subordinates. The wait made him more anxious, aware that this wasn’t what the Empire was like. Out of countless battles he fought against them, the droids aren’t like this. Something is up. I can feel it in my gut.
“General, what do we do?” he asked the Jedi Master. “We can’t go on like this. Team B is waiting for us.”
“I have an idea.”
Stroking his beard, Obi-Wan stood up and climbed on the rock, crossing his legs in meditation. As he closed his eyes, he reached through the Force and levitated the rock towards the mangrove, causing the battle droids to pop out from their hiding spot.
“There they are,” Obi-Wan pointed out, activating his lightsaber. “Everyone, get into position.”
“Sir, yes, sir,” Thire responded, turning towards his troops. “Come on, blast those clankers.”
”I’m happy to do that,” Stone laughed as he opened fire. “Eat that, you fucking clankers.”
Hyewon’s eyes widened as she saw Boil and Faven blasting the droids with their blasters, listening to the sound of blasters firing against each other for the first time. She wasn’t used to all of this, but luckily, she can adapt to a new environment. Well, this seems more fun than babysitting a bunch of prisoners.
Gripping on her weapon, she shot down a SBD in front of her, making her pulse run. She had training in shooting, but she hardly had the chance to utilise her skills, until today. Shooting another droid, Hyewon couldn’t contain her excitement as she repeated her actions again and again. “Okay, is anyone going to tell me that this feels good, or am I the only one?”
“You’re not the only one,” Boil shared his feeling. “Wait until you have to deal with the bigger droids. That one is an immense challenge, even for me.”
“I can’t wait for that.”
If only she knew the genuine horror that comes with it, Faven sighed.
Stone stepped forwards and gunned down the B1 units with his twin pistols, not missing a single aim at all. Jek continuously fired with his favourite weapon, the rotary blaster, destroying every droid single handedly. He never had this much fun since accompanying Master Yoda on the moon of Rugosa.
As the B1 were cleared from the field, Cody spotted the Super Battle Droids heading towards their position, making him signal towards Boil, Faven, and Hyewon. “You three, get over here.”
Hyewon let out a soft gasp. “Are we in trouble?”
“No, we’re not,” Boil calmed her down, dragging her towards her commanding officer. “What do you need, commander?”
“Take these to the other side of the line,” Cody passed them a box full of ammunition and supplies. “These are important for all of us here. Understood?”
“Yes, sir,” Faven acknowledged. “We won’t let you down.”
“Good luck out there. You’re gonna need it.”
Together, the trio took a deep breath together and counted to three, lifting the long box with their bare hands. They had their armour on, but Hyewon wasn’t sure whether they were going to last this long. She didn’t think it would be this intense.
Watching her comrades getting shot to the ground, she was horrified at the sight of blood soaked on the soft sand beneath her. Some of their helmets were separated from their heads, revealing a horrifying face that stood out. Hyewon noticed one of her sisters was coughing out blood, desperately fighting for the will to breathe.
Is this what war is like? Hyewon questioned herself, realizing the truth. I don’t want to die like this.
Thire shifted his attention to Harley, who was killing the droids with her sniper. Trained as an assassin clone, she could kill without hesitation, which was hardly utilised until they fled to Raxus. She was stuck as a call operator for three years, dealing with obnoxious citizens that abused their services. Harley’s grateful she doesn’t have to do that anymore.
“Harley, I need your help,” the commander requested for her assistance, much to her satisfaction.
“What is it, boss?” she jumped in excitement.
“I need you to go rogue right now. It’s what you’re good at.”
“Easy-peasy lemon greasy,” Harley squealed loudly as she grabbed a couple of explosives and sprinted towards the excitement, releasing a war cry. The rest of the troopers who observed her crazy act did the same as well by joining her antics.
Cody could only blink in confusion as one of the Corrie Guards bombed the barbed wires that shielded the Imperial army without getting shot. The rest of them followed suit by infiltrating through the trench, ambushing the droid army. “I have a bad feeling about this.”
“Doesn’t matter,” Thire assured him. “We’re doing what we can to divert their attention towards our scouts. They’re the ones carrying our supplies.”
“Speaking of Team B,” Obi-Wan joined in their conversations, deflecting the blasts. “Once we’re through, we need to let them know when they can land.”
“I hope they’re doing much better than us,” Stone maintained his positivity despite hearing one of his brothers screaming in pure agony. “We’ve lost a lot of lives today.”

Leave didn’t happen very often. It was even a rarer opportunity when that included Ahsoka being able to do something fun. Most of the time, leave was for the men. She’d stand with Anakin and Obiwan in the drop ship and listen to the plans the troopers around her were making. Leave for her, however, mostly meant study time at the Temple. But, Anakin had agreed that this time could be for fun. She had worked very hard the last two months and never complained once (that he heard).
She was trying to think about what she could do on Coruscant, being a novice when it came to the planet’s nightlife. She heard Jesse and Fives mention something called Limmie, talking about attending a small match later that evening. She didn’t want to just invite herself, as she knew how important it was for the men to have time to themselves. But she didn’t want to wander around clueless for her free time either.
“What’s Limmie?” She asked, Jesse looking down at her like he’d just noticed she was there, he wore a startled expression.
“It’s bolo-ball, there’s a match tonight between two local teams. Nothing big but it’s fun.” Fives explained, giving a shrug. Ahsoka gave a nod,
“That sounds fun.” She replied. As things between the three grew quiet, Fives looked and Jesse who shrugged. They weren’t sure what Jedi did for fun really. Studying and training didn’t sound like a good time on leave to them.
“Do you...want to join us?” Fives asked, raising an eyebrow and looking at the young Padawan. He must’ve said something right because her face lit up.
“Yes! That would be great!”
Fives and Jesse explained the rules of Limmie to Ahsoka, who was taking mental notes. She had met them out in front of the Temple and they shared a cab to the location. She’d never seen them in casual clothing before, or rather as casual as clone troopers got. The two wore matching PT outfits, black shorts and a grey top with the Republic’s symbol printed in the center in a slightly darker grey. It was almost invisible really. She just wore her regular Jedi getup, feeling a bit out of place in anything else. The cab soon stopped at a sports field, a small one but it was well-kept. Ahsoka truthfully had no idea there was a sports complex in Coruscant.
Tonight it had been rented out by two local Limmie teams. The Raging Rontos and the Red Banthas. There were a fair amount of fans for each team.
“This is nothing really, not in terms of field size or fans. Coruscant has always been skimpy on the Limmie love, even though the Galactic Cup is held here.” Jesse explained, buying their entry tickets. He handed Ahsoka a lanyard with a tag on it that showed she’d paid. She thanked Jesse who waved nonchalantly. Fives picked out a good spot in the stands, Ahsoka spotted some other clones from different battalions in the crowd. They were on their way to their seats when a Rodian called Jesse over.
“Hey man, you just get in?” The Rodian asked, shaking hands with Jesse and then with Fives. Ashoka stood back a bit, it was clear these three knew each other.
“Yeah, about an hour ago really.” Fives said with a shrug. The Rodian looked at their badges.
“Did you just buy those? I’d ask for a refund bros.” Jesse and Fives glanced at each other.
“Why?” They asked in unison.
“Well, two of our guys have been injured and one got called into work. So we’re down three players. We were going to forfeit to the Banthas. Unless....” The Rodian looked the two troopers up and down.
“Do you two want to play? You’ve played in the causal games.” The Rodian offered. Jesse and Fives readily agreed.
“Now we’re only down one.” The Rodian stated, trying to think of someone else. Jesse looked over at Ahsoka, who had been standing awkwardly to the side. He nudged Fives who also looked over at Ahsoka.
“I don’t know, she’s just learned the rules...” Fives said uncertainly. Ahsoka picked up on what they were talking about.
“I can do it! Trust me.” Ahsoka said, not wanting to be left out. The Rodian considered her. She was small, but that wasn’t really a bad thing.
“Are you fast?”
“Yup”
“Okay.”
Soon the three were wearing Raging Ronto shirts, Ahsoka’s nearly swallowed her. She laced up the cleats they had found for her and stretched like Jesse and Fives had. The other team looked disheartened since they were expecting a forfeit. Ahsoka decided not to use the Force, as she was sure that was against the rules. The team huddled, Ahsoka elated to be included as if she’d always belonged. The play was laid out, a couple other team mates giving Ahsoka a run down of her role. A whistle was blown and it was time to start.
Jesse and Fives had certainly played before. She heard their names called out in the stands. She looked over and saw Echo, Kix, Boil, and Waxer in the stands. When they noticed her, they looked at each other uncertainly but cheered for her too. Their team was given the ball first and they took off with it down the field, passing the ball off to a free member when the opposite team players came upon them. It was a fast paced game and you had to know who was around you. Early on the other team members zoomed in on her as being a newbie, knocking her over and stealing the ball from her a couple times. Once Jesse came over and helped her up as Fives stole the ball back. Ahsoka shook off the frustration.
She soon got the hang of the game, she was a fast learner. Stealing the ball and knocking other players over. She soon had some people chanting her name in the stands. The adrenaline high had kicked in and she found it something she craved. Right up until one of the Red Bantha’s elbowed her in the face, Ahsoka fell backwards, stunned. Her team was suddenly at her side as the ref called foul on the offending player. Laying on the grass, Ahsoka stared up a the skylanes. Her nose throbbed and felt a bit numb. The team medic, a Zabrak, was at her side and helped her sit up. Fives and Jesse grimaced as blood started run from her nose.
“We should get her back to the base.” Fives said, Jesse nodding.
“No! Then the Rontos will be three down again.” Ahsoka said, attempting to stand.
“See, I’m fine. I can play.” She wobbled into the Zabrak medic.
“I’d advise against that.” The medic said, already leading Ahsoka to the benches. The game paused to allow the Rontos to figure out a game plan.
Echo, Kix, Boil, and Waxer were already at the barrier that separated fans from players. Kix asking the medic what happened.
“Bloody nose and slight disorientation.” The medic replied, handing Ahsoka an ice pack from the cooler and sitting her on the bench.
“Why did you two let her play?!” Echo asked Jesse and Fives, who shrugged.
“Captain Rex is going to be upset and I don’t even want to know how General Skywalker will react.” Boil said, shoving a handful of popcorn into his mouth.
“No! We can’t tell him! He can’t know i got a nose bleed like this!” Ahsoka said, raising her head from where the Zabrak had positioned it.
“Keep your head low so the blood flows out and not back.” He instructed again, pushing her head gently back towards her knees.
“Keep playing Fives and Jesse! You can play with one out right?” Ahsoka asked the Rodian, who was the Ronto’s coach. The alien nodded,
“It will be tough but not impossible.”
“We’ll avenge you Tano.” Fives assured.
The Rontos went on to win the match, by just one goal. Ahsoka walked out with Jesse, Fives, Kix, and the gang with a Raging Ronto’s shirt that fit her.
“That was so much fun!! Fives, the way you stole the ball and kicked it to Jesse like that! Golden!!” She expressed. Her nose had stopped bleeding but was bruised. They walked towards the entrance to the base, Ahsoka feeling like one of the guys.
“Where have you guys been?” Came a familiar voice. Anakin. She turned and saw him walking toward them with Rex in tow. He saw her bruised nose and his eyes narrowed. He took in the dirt on her arms, legs, and face.
“Have you been in a fight!?” Anakin demanded, noticing her shirt.
“The Ranging Rontos?” Anakin asked.
“Local Limmie team sir.” Rex clarified. “Did they win?” He asked Jesse.
“Uh, yeah...it was close.” The trooper replied, rubbing the back of his neck.
“Ahsoka, what happened to your nose?” Anakin asked again. Fives noticing Kix, Echo, Boil, and Waxer had ditched them.
“Well, Master, the player on the Red Banthas elbowed me in the face because he was mad I stole the ball back from him. But don’t worry, Jesse and Fives avenged me.” Ahsoka said causally. Anakin staring at her, mouth agape.
“You...you played?! Do you know how hurt you could’ve been?!” Anakin exclaimed.
“Fives, Jesse, why did you let her play?!” Rex added. Ahsoka held her hands up.
“I wanted to play, it’s not their fault. And I didn’t get hurt much. Besides, I do way more dangerous things in the field!” Ahsoka said defensively.
“I agree.” Obiwan said, appearing from out of no where, one hand on his beard. Startled, Anakin grabbed his chest.
“By the Force, I thought you left!” He muttered at his Master.
“Need I remind you of your podracing days Anakin?” Obiwan mused.
“Podracing?” Ahsoka asked, that sounded fun.
“No! No you do not!” Anakin said quickly, ushering his Padawan aside.
“I just don’t want you to get hurt where I can’t help you.” He explained to Ahsoka, his tone more gentle.
“I know Master, but you can’t protect me forever.” Ahsoka debated. Anakin smirked.
“I can try. Did you have fun?” He asked. Ahsoka immediately launched into an excited re-telling of the match. Play by play.
@wille-zarr I hope you like it!!
