And yeah I think ever since chapter 341, it just became a little more clear that Dabi does have some care towards her (whether he wants to admit it or not)

He did burn down the house where she was abused after all, like in solidarity with the lost and maybe hopeless feeling you get when returning to a home that doesn't want you anymore (that's what Touya thought anyway, but he can still relate to her feelings with that whether it was true with his family or not)

What do you think about the scene with the remedial kids? If Bakugou even dies, having the kids to saying out loud they give him the utmost trust is weird to me. Idk, even if Bakugou lives, what's the purpose of that scene? Seems to heavily contrast whatever is going on atm

Yeahh its a little sus

I mean my first thoughts were that it was an angst scene for Bakugou's death, like "ohhh that's right, they don't know what happened yet :(" and that was honestly as far as I thought about it lol

But the purpose of that scene, whether Bakugou lives or truly dies, is to break your heart just that little bit more imo. Like we just saw Bakugou's gruesome death, he's all covered in blood and has a hole through him and burns and everything, and then we turn to these kids who are so AFFECTED by what they saw and learned at the 2nd license exam. Clearly, that arc left an impression on those kids, has convinced them to put hope into this generation's heroes. If not for the Pros, then the next Heroes down the line, like Class 1A, specifically Shouto and Bakugou. The fact that they tell the teacher it's going to be okay because of Shouto and Bakugou (and the rest), in contrast to their first appearance when they didn't trust ANY of the remedial squad or Heroes in general, is meant to be proof of their changed hearts

In general it's kind of meant to be a "oh they don't know Bakugou is dead, they have no idea what is going on :'(" thing to make your heart break just that little more (because while I'm convinced Bakugou will come back, the general presentation of 362-363 is that Bakugou is dead) but it's also proof of how Bakugou and Shouto (and the others) effected these kids' hearts and left that bit of hope for the next generation after them

But yeah, now that I think about it, it could totally be some kind of contrast thing as well. Like foreshadowing that Bakugou is going to be okay

Either way, there is a purpose to that scene besides possible foreshadowing. It's proof of the hearts Bakugou and the remedial squad have touched and left an impression on

Took the bus to the big city yesterday and it only stops near where I live in the early morning and late at night, so I left a bowl for Pandolf with enough food for his 2 meals of the day. He didn’t start eating because it was too early for breakfast and he’s punctilious about mealtimes, but I told him “Bon appétit” to Authorise The Kibble, then left. When I came home at night it was long past his normal dinner time yet I found the bowl half-full—he had eaten the breakfast portion but since he only got 1 bon appétit he didn’t dare to eat the rest for dinner. I don’t think if I had said it twice in a row he would have understood that one of them was a Bon Appétit voucher for his next meal unfortunately. But I’m always amazed by his scruples, he is the most principled animal I know. When he was a puppy he would try to stick his head in his bowl while I poured the food so I taught him to wait until he heard ‘bon appétit’ before going anywhere near it—and very quickly in his mind the words became an incantation that turns the contents of his bowl from a miasma of forbidden unthinkableness into edible food that belongs to him.
