Maybe it's because I don't find Anakin even slightly attractive, particularly in AotC, but like. The whole obsession he has for Padme in the beginning of the movie makes me so viscerally, deeply uncomfortable, and clearly Padme doesn't vibe with it either.

Just - that scene where Anakin and Obi-Wan are talking, and Anakin says Padme covered the cameras is such an example of that. Anakin's whole "I don't think she liked me watching her" is clearly meant to be funny but it also just makes my skin crawl. And Padme knows the danger she's in, she knows precisely who's after her, so her covering the cameras despite that? I'd assume that means she's also deeply uncomfortable with it.

Seeing so many people I once respected and even adored/admired prove themselves mask off antisemites when given the chance and an "appropriate" enough reason is so incredibly heartbreaking. So many left leaning and supposedly empathetic people apparently do not hear themselves right now.

aw. my boss emailed me tonight to tell me what a great job she thought i did at work this week...

#i wanna talk about me #this week has been kind of brutal #including two nearly full days of just preparing and making letters to 100+ students #And sending email copies...#on top of my usual weekly tasks like the newsletter #i got it all done (with a little printing help midweek from my coworker...tjank you kat for have my back) but man #between work and Work 2 and a brutal amount of assigned readings for class.. i'm struggling #and orchestra of course. concerts next weekend of course.#idk if i looked or seemed particularly at the end of my rope this week or what..maestro also unprompted told me to tap out/call in backup #at any point if work 2 becomes Too Much for me...#idk. i do appreciate the reassurance that i'm doing okay at least. and the...appreciation. ha

i just gotta say peoples' obsessions with writing toxic relationships just concerns the shit outta me on this hellsite.

what if drann did leave the black rose. what if she, not unlike cassiopeia, was inducted by a mother or other family members that were hemomancers. what if something did happen to make her reconsider and she ran away (and the two of them, without anyone else who'dlook after them, banded together as a result? what if kat helped keep her safe only to later learn drann was plenty dangerous on her own too?).

what if she didn't, and was supposed to spy on kat, but ended up genuinely changing her mind. what if eventually she did betray the black rose and left the hemomancers. what if it was in no small part due to her bond with katsrina.

intimacy plus dazai is one of my favourite things

#kat rambles #it's just especially with Dazai intimacy and softness are so so precious it's like it melts me #the internal conflict one can write about as a result is delicious. the tiny behavioural gestures that suggest hesitancy mm #on a side note it's actually quite interesting when one compares the sense of intimacy Dazai-sensei creates in his writing with bsd #Dazai-sensei is in a way intimate with his readers yet remains an ironic distance the tone and the way he writes definitely invites the #readers to engage with him #he doesn’t give the whole truth and I think it's really interesting from the translator's introduction I read yesterday is that Dazai #almost teases his readers with details he brings up something very briefly in one text then elaborates it somewhat in another but doesn’t #reveal everything and it's something I almost forget as someone who as understood at least somewhat of his biography... most readers at the #actual time do not have that luxury #whereas bsd establishes dazai in an almost distanced way #you never see from his eyes his pov his thoughs #his character arc is seen entirely from other people's backstories and he is only ever seen from other people's ppv #*pov #so actually thinking about it both of them kind of establish and bring details about dazai into light in a slow way #almost teasing the readers to continue diving deeper #I just find it fascinating how Dazai-sensei himself and Bsd chose to present 'Dazai'#from a direct quote from The Saga of Dazai Osamu: He is extraordinarily revealing it appears at first glance; and yet #unless you have been been following the course of his argument through years of time and dozens of journals #he does not reveal too much #to you at any one time #food for thought I guess?#because it is actually a really interesting experience having seen bsd dazai then interacting with Dazai-sensei's writings where he seems #so revealing and confessional and open #maybe I need to adapt some of this to my writing🤔#might delete this when I'm back from homework
