I love that hickey is trying to insert himself into some kind of relationship with crozier but like every niche he tries is already filled by someone else. us irish should stick together - no, crozier's colonial parallel is silna. let me be the little guy on the captain's shoulder - no, that's jopson. surely the flogging will change something - yeah, for thomas hartnell. well he hates me now but he'll surely see my inner depths - no, that's fitzjames.
and then hickey finally technically succeeds at becoming like the only man crozier wouldn't forgive - he kills a whole family! he massacred the men! he makes him eat goodsir! he loots fitzjames' boots from his grave! he leads them to doom and worse doom! - and when he is giving his villain monologue crozier only reaction is just. you could have joined up.

Same energy.
(What makes it even better for me as a German is the fact that Stanford and Wolverine share the same german voice actor. XD)

Me trying to explain to people that Mahiru’s character should be recognized for the complexity that she offers and that she should not be demonized or completely infantilized because she too is written to be human
That her bf was not able to communicate his boundaries and needs to Mappi and that Mappi failed to notice these things, but that it wasn’t her fault that he didn’t communicate those to her, but also that she was reckless and overbearing/obsessive in her first relationship and that she needs to recognize this and learn to do better in her next one because relationships are not the fairy tale/romanticized thing that’s in her head from being sheltered all her life
AND THAT Mappi RECOGNIZES that she did do something wrong, but she can’t really understand it fully, or even more, she doesn’t want “her love” be seen as a bad thing, but she still recognizes that she fucked up in some way and someone needs to explain that to her fully so she can understand and not make that same mistake again WHILE also realizing that her love and her identity in and of itself is not something that should be inherently demonized
AND THAT MORE IMPORTANTLY she should not hinge her entire self worth and identity on this idea of romantic love and her partner
People need to recognize that at the end of the day, Mappi is just a girl who fucked up but she cannot understand why 😭 she is not evil, she is not manipulative, and she is not completely and utterly controlling of others. She is supposed to show these aspects of kindness and selfishness, and how these things reflect on how nuanced and realistic she’s written to be

One of the most frustrating things to me is people acting like at the end of DMC 5 Dante and Vergil were wrong to go to hell and leave Nero in the human world, even thought they literally had to? It's not like they went to hell for the hell of it? It's explicitly stated that if they don't cut the roots down the tree will continue to grow and demons will continue pouring out into the human world?
I'm sure that them leaving did upset Nero and it's okay for him to be upset, but that doesn't mean they were in the wrong and I'm sure no matter what he feels, he knows that circumstances made how things went unavoidable.
I guess I can see the argument of they didn't both have to go or they could've taken Nero with them, but that wouldn't have been very logical.
Vergil absolutely had to go. He caused the problem, it'd be really fucked up if he didn't help fix it.
However, Vergil has only just now shown anything other than power-hungry intent, how can they trust him? It makes sense for the only person who can really match him in power to go with him to keep an eye on him. (Yes, I know Dante's main reason for going with Vergil is probably because of what happened last time Vergil went to hell alone, but we are approaching this from a logical standpoint, not an emotional one.)
Vergil, Dante, and Nero are the three most powerful beings on Earth, the two most powerful of the three are going to hell, and it only makes sense for Nero to stay and watch over the human world, especially considering it's quite possible that the Qlipoth has opened up the world to new demonic dangers. Dante even tells Nero: "It's because you're here we can go."
They didn't just abandon Nero and it's not the same as Vergil jumping into hell at the end of DMC 3, even if the two scenes do parallel each other. They did leave him, yes, but they had to. They aren't in the wrong for it. Both of them, especially Vergil, have hurt and wronged Nero but not by doing this. Dante and Vergil going to hell and Nero staying behind was the most logical thing to do.

Hey, Jake & Jack fans, is this anything?
Both men imprisoned (literal & metaphorical).
Both offered an out from their current predicament by an outside force (arguably in the case of Brain Ghost Dirk).
Both have loose ties to Lord English visually.
Yellow initial glow & Gamzee involvement too.
Sometimes a guy just needs to explode (same pose too).
Both dual wielding weapons.
That same said weapon type (for Jack Noir) having killed Jane Crocker.
It's really looking like Jake is going to do her in.
I would also like to point out that we've had interactions involving these three (Jane, Jake, and Brain Ghost Dirk) before that consisted of similar topics & themes.
Brain Ghost Dirk implying that he's just there as moral support, a manifestation of Jake's powers, and as a coping mechanism. Jane also talking about ruling an empire with him while talking down to him, similar to how she saw and/or still sees him in Beyond Canon's Candy timeline. Jake also being uncertain about doing anything to harm her despite all the bad things she's doing.
Brain Ghost Dirk going away tells us that Jake's more hopeful than he's ever been. This is the moment where he is the most sure of his decisions than he's ever been in his life, whatever those decisions may be in regards to Jane and how to handle this situation.
He is probably going to shoot Jane down, quite literally. I would also argue that after all this time, the lad isn't beating the Lord English allegations. We might as well have a parallel of him killing Jane much like how Jack Noir killed her right before he got possessed by Lil Cal & given some of Lord English's immense power.
Alternatively maybe we'll get to see what the power of hope or hope bullets can do to someone whose done so much wrong & come so far off the deep end in terms of moral wrongdoings. Maybe with every shot that hits her, she'll begin to be swayed to the side of good & start to self-reflect.
I'm still not fully convinced that Gamzee actually cured Tavros' peanut allergy, I mean just look at the panel.
This could absolutely be interpreted as Jake injecting his hope power into the epipen and by proxy injecting both his power & the epipen into his son! If younger Jake is strong enough to defeat Grimbark Jade, then adult Jake might just be strong enough to defeat a peanut allergy is all I'm saying! In fact, now that I'm rambling about it, this seems like the more likely outcome is Jake's hope power swaying or (in the very least) confusing Jane mid-fight. Hope bullets, they would look cool & would be pretty strong!
The power of believing in others & wanting things to change can be a strong tool indeed, Mister English.
If there's one person who still believes in changing Jane's mind (or bringing her back to proper canonicity depending on how you interpret the recent lore), it would be Jake English, the believer.
Okay, maybe this is something! Tally ho!

idea. since askdusttale answered an ask about where dust got his determination from (because dust has SOME determination just so he can remember the timelines and keep going against the human) and said it was totally up to personal interpretation on how he got his determination. so so so like what if what if dusttale's player did something similar to something new's player and changed dust's code to give him determination??? so dust and killer COULD BOTH had their codes tampered with??? the parallels would be INSANE. they both started off as sans and got their codes tampered with by the player but dust and killer went on two opposite paths. dust out of his own voalition decided to go against the human but killer had to team up with the human no choice at all. the opposite parallels go CRAZY oh god im tweaking
killer doesn't know exactly (since i forgot whether or not he can see codes or something like that. i swear there was an image of him describing fell and swap's code and then his own) but he can SENSE that something's off. something's different about dust that he doesn't quite know about. maybe it gets him to ask a bunch of questions that dust is definitely not open to answering because jesus man mind your own damn business but the question that really sets killer off is the way dust answers when he asks "so if you have determination then how did you get it?" and dust just shrugs his shoulders and said that one day he suddenly remembered the resets and then that's when he got it (and then goes back to mumbling to phantom paps or wtvr) and killer's just like. zomg. a sudden change in behavior or mentality that seemingly has no apparent reason related to the human???? like like like when he suddenly had to agree with the player despite literally never wanting to????? killer is over thinking the implications behind this
meanwhile dust is just annoyed now because killer keeps on following him. he keeps asking him strange questions. wtf why is the guy asking to see his SOUL that's incredibly personal???? he just wants to be left alone man he has no idea what's going on

Happy spooky season!!! Any seasonal erisol wise wisdom for us :? Or just any silly hcs that've been on your mind lately?
yknow what? for this spooky month; why dont i show the process for my *trick*ster designs as a *treat* >:)
ive been fiddling with these designs on and off tbh lmao; eridan's trickster design is based on his inverted color palette, and sollux's design is based on rotating his primary colors into secondary colors <3
BOTH of them intentionally have shades of green in their design to signify their ties to each other from being halves of erisolsprite; the oranges matching (and having each other's color too!) just happens to be coincidence lol
