synopsis . ❀ ݁ ˖ yn finally agrees to a blind date to finally shut her bffs up about her tragic dating life. Dressed to impress but armed with zero expectations, she arrives at a café, scans the room, and sits across from a guy who checks every box: handsome yet cute, and surprisingly sarcastic in a way that keeps her on her toes. Only one problem: he’s not her date. Jake, a schools heartthrob laying low not to be caught by his fan girls, is just trying to enjoy a quiet cup of coffee when a stranger slides into the seat across from him and starts talking like they know each other. Intrigued — and a little bored — he plays along. What starts as a mistaken identity turns into a full-blown accidental date. And when yn finally realizes her mixup… she walks away mortified. But Jake? He can’t stop thinking about her. Now he’s determined to find her again — without revealing who he really is. As fate (or nosy mutual friends) brings them back together, their story becomes anything but accidental. Because sometimes, love finds you at the wrong table — at exactly the right time.

“Oh my god, you guys really didn’t have to come over,” yn says, rummaging through her closet in a frantic attempt to find something to wear. Kai chuckles from the corner of the room, shaking his head. “bro you need all the help you can get. Whatever you’re doing to scare these guys off, it’s definitely working.”

Meanwhile, Juyeon is casually snacking on whatever he could find in yns fridge, seemingly unfazed by the chaos in the room. Yumi, who’s also digging through yns closet, suddenly stops and gasps. “yn! Look! Wear this! It’s perfect!” she exclaims, holding up a black off the shoulder top and a cute dark wash mini skirt “pfft is that even going to fit on her, I haven’t seen her wear that shirt since forever” wonbin says next to juyeon whos also snacking on the same thing

yn glares at wonbin and then glances at the mess of clothes scattered all over the room. “I don’t know if this is going to fit, ugh it doesn’t even look like it can go over my head bro” “Trust me,” Yumi says, grinning. “At this point, you’ve got nothing to lose nini” “wow thanks for all the support my loving friends who have gotten me into this situation in the first place” yn says laying on the floor making a snow angel with all her clothes on the floor.

“oh my god can you try it on already we don’t have all day” juyeon says rummaging through her fridge even more trying to find her secret stash of food. yn noticing “yea i will if you can get your fat fingers away from my fridge” juyeon gasps loudly “cmonnnn nini go try it on” yumi forces her to get up and pushes her towards her bathroom door. “ok fine but if i look like a hot mess im not coming out” “OH CMONN THATS THE FUN PART” kai yells from his corner and wonbin nodding silently from the kitchen counter.

“Oh my god, is she seriously still laying on the floor?” Juyeon calls out from the kitchen counter, voice muffled by the fridge door as he digs through it, clearly trying to find yns secret stash of snacks. “We’re starving, and you’re still deciding if that shirt fits? Just get it over with already!” yn groans from the floor “I swear, youre worse than my mom. stop nagging me lee juyeon!! I’ll try it on when I want to gosh”

“Ugh, don’t act like we’re the problem here,” wonbin teases, walking toward the bathroom door. “The only thing slowing this down is you. Just try it on! I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone take so long to put on a shirt.” juyeon complains like theres no tomorrow as yumi gently pushes yn towards the bathroom door and wonbin opening the door for them. Kai pipes up from the couch, his voice dripping with sarcasm. “Yeah, honestly, you’ve got this yn. It’s just a shirt and a skirt, not like you’re reinventing the wheel.”

Wonbin, sitting lazily at the floor infront of the bathroom door with a snack, chuckles. “Do you think she’s gonna come out wearing it or just get stuck halfway through? ‘Cause that seems more likely.” yumi smacks his shoulders “stop making fun of my baby and go and get me some of whatever your eating im hungry too” wonbin winces in pain but still gets up annoyed while sticking his tongue at her. “boy if you don’t put that fat tongue back in ur mouth”

“hey guys it fits i think?” yn calls back, her voice muffled as she struggles with the shirt. “But if I come out looking like a hot mess, it’s all your fault and im never trusting u bitches again”

“Oh, we know it’s gonna be a hot mess,” Kai says with a loud laugh.

“You’re the worst huening kai.” yelling from the bathroom

After a couple of minutes, yn emerges slowly from the bathroom, standing awkwardly in the doorway with her arms crossed like she’s waiting for the inevitable onslaught of teasing. The room goes dead silent for a moment. And then, as expected, it erupts.

“Oh my god, she actually did it,” Kai says, snickering like it’s the best thing he’s seen all week. “Who let you out of your cave yn?”

Juyeon takes one look and just bursts out laughing. “Okay, hold up. Did someone spike your water? What happened to chopped yn??” YN rolls her eyes. “It’s just a shirt and a skirt. Stop acting like I’m wearing a ballgown.”

Wonbin raises an eyebrow, still munching on his snack. “Not gonna lie, though. You actually kind of look like huzz but no glaze cause your still chopped” “I’m just so glad you think I look like chopped huzz” YN says dryly, giving him a playful shove. “Really boosts my self-esteem.”

Yumi, arms crossed and grinning mischievously, steps forward. “I literally told u guys this was THE fit. like cmon now” “Oh, for sure,” Kai chimes in. “next time can you dress me. I want to look unrecognizable too.”

Juyeon snorts. “honestly, I’m kind of impressed. I didn’t think you could manage this without looking like you just stepped out of a disaster movie.” YN shoots them all a look. “Yeah, keep laughing. I’ll just make sure you don’t get any snacks next time we hang out Lee juyeon.”

“Hey, don’t threaten me im the one who landed u on yet another date” juyeon says, holding up his bag of chips.

“You’re literally the worst one to play the Cupid role omg” YN scoffs, hands on her hips.

“youre all grown up now!!! guys she’s grown up so fast” Kai throws his hands in the air dramatically, like he’s being hit with a wave of sudden emotion. “Look at you! How do you go from our little baby to suddenly ready for marriage ”

Yn glares at him, fighting back a grin. “You guys are lucky I even let you guys in here to “help” me. You’re getting one look, and then youre all leaving.”

“my nini baby all grown up,” Yumi teases, “but just remember—you can’t run away from us. We’ll be sure to remind you of this moment forever.”

“Yeah,” Wonbin says, leaning back in the kitchen chair, “you look cute, but don’t get used to it. You’ve got the nonchalant persona to maintain.”

Yn crosses her arms, giving them all a look of mock seriousness. “Alright, I’ll leave the nonchalant part to you guys. You can keep it.” The teasing continues as she heads out, but before she can fully close the door she hears juyeon scream “CAN WE EAT YOUR RAMEN!” yn rolls her eyes and peeps her head through the door “yes but only two packs you guys can share, and I’ll know if you eat more than one. I WILL KNOW.”

alright gang im trying to make sure i fully develop all of my characters for my object show before i do too much with it because i wanna make sure i do this right and Charm Bracelet currently has the most stuff filled out for her so BAM heres my Charm Bracelet ramble

One big thing I'm trying to do with all of my characters is make sure they have something unique to them that's based on their object and CB's comes in the form of her charms. Without any charms on her, she's basically a blank slate of a character. She has four spaces for charms on her, and the different combinations are what make up her personality (and for fun and simplicity all of her charms are based off of the aspirations and personality traits in the sims c:). The biggest thing about CB's character is how she is absolutely NOTHING without her charms and I really can't emphasize that enough. When she has fewer charms on her, not only does she have less of a personality and general character as a whole, but also the fewer the charms the worse her memory is. The best way I could explain it is the fewer building blocks she has for her as a person, the less of a person she has to work with. The human equivalent would be a person with a severely damaged amygdala; with messy emotions and memory issues.

The other big aspect of CB's character is that she is quite literally an "accessory" and attaches herself to whoever she imprints on. Right after she's first created, the first person she sees is Taffy, so that's immediately who she starts following, and honestly wouldn't be able to function without.

CB is very naive, and isn't really all that observant of the world around her. When other people start switching around her charms, she doesn't notice it. She never notices that her personality or emotions have changed unless someone else points it out to her, but obviously everyone else can realize something's different because not only is she acting different, but she looks different because her charms have changed. And this blindness combined with her attachment to other people makes it so she isn't able to see when Taffy starts using her, and chooses not to believe it even after she knows. My girl has an honestly quite impressive level of denial. She would never blame anyone who ever wrongs her, and would sooner destroy herself than try to take something for herself that she "deserves."

If she were to ever want anything for herself, it would be for her to be able to find out who she is without her charms to bind her to a certain way of being, but that would never happen.

Tangentially related to some of the discussion i posted earlier but quiet literally the first RW Art Month i participated I did it completely on whim like, one day before it started. And I mostly did it because I hadn't drawn a ton of rain world and wanted to draw more. Fandom presence was a lot smaller than and I was one of a handful of artists who did the entire thing. Fast forward and I still do Art Month and I've gotten to work with VC directly. But it was quite literally something I decided to do completely on whim that set the ball rolling, and for something a lil more niche and certainly with a lot more dev/fandom art involvement than most. It's really random how and why you might get noticed more than usual, especially with the "toss it into the search and hope it pays out' mechanism of Socmed

i think this line about how "a lot of people are only comfortable engaging with Taylor’s work within the very tight framework of heterosexuality." is not just extremely true, but is true on just about every level. Swiftieism, it can feel sometimes, is aggressively self policed on a broad level. It seems that swifties as a generalized group are only comfortable engaging with taylors work within a very tight framework of conformity, even if it isn't something believed to be problematic or negative on a personal level. Queerness, mental health and neurodiversity, addiction, racism and white normativity, expectations for women, gender in general, class, the complications of interpersonal relationships ESPECIALLY regarding marriage , the difficulties of culpability, social isolation, childhood and adult traumas and how they echo forward, the living nightmare it is to have even (especially) a loving audience, the necessity of lying and obfuscation if you want to maintain that audience, theyre all topics that could be touched on and dissected in TTPD-TA alone, nevermind the rest of taylors extremely broad catalogue. If you try to discuss most if not all of these topics and your blog has an audience of more than 3 people, however, you are liable to start getting angry or aggressive or trolling anons pushing against you even trying to discuss these things in too much detail. This, from my view at least, built a sort of panopticon style self policing if you want to exist in the actual swiftie fandom on any sort of broader level outside of yourself or a very small group of friends/mutuals both online and in a physical space.

This honestly massively limits just how much analysis can even be done on a broader scale! For how huge and ubiquitous taylor is, it feels like popular critical discussion and interaction has only been ramping up recently (SO excited for that taylor poetry book) and part of that is just because of how difficult it is to talk about taylors music at all without facing major backlash and scrutiny either from people who love her or people who hate her. Combine that w the reactionary requirements of reviews and journalism ESPECIALLY music journalism really restricts album reviews from diving past the surface level.

Im gonna use this as an excuse to once again shill for my favorite music reviewer spectrum pulse, who really does apporach taylors art as a piece of artistic work to be analyzed. I dont agree with him nearly all the time but honestly I think thats a good thing. Posting his reviews on midnights and TTPD below bc theyre some of my favorites of each respective album.

also on a final note as i run out of steam: it is kind of funny how this sort of makes swifties broadly miss pretty obvious, easy to assume or observe aspects of taylors life (alcoholism, her rs w joe dissolving, her worsening mental health) and get totally blindsided when she started stating these things about herself directly and still on some level seem to be in denial (ive seen ppl get hate for talking about taylor having depression? its the third word in the third line of the lead single for midnights girl cmon) about these things being real

I have been thinking a lot about the discussion on @milfygerard ‘s blog about the lack of Taylor Swift rpf but how a lot of the same mechanisms of rpf is actually a really big part of the content on here focused on Taylor

but instead of openly talking about Taylor Swift the fictional character we think we know via her music and career, so much of Swiftism focuses on deriving the ‘true meaning’ of her lyrics/her art

There is a think a lot of reward in this fandom particularly when engaging with the idea that we somehow know Taylor Swift the person through engaging with her art. I’ve talked about this before but it’s clear to me as a queer fan seeing how gaylor is treated on here that a lot of people are only comfortable engaging with Taylor’s work within the very tight framework of heterosexuality.

Now I wonder if that comes from fans that believe they would somehow ‘know’ if their idol was a queer a woman, that they are so so attached to the specific image of her they have in her head that even someone else thinking she could be queer or her music could be queer feels like violence, like ripping at the threads of the reality they think is true

I don’t really know what I’m saying with all this other than I’d like it on record I am engaging with Taylor Swift the fictional character and not Taylor Swift the real human being because I do not know her and will never know her!!!! But I know the version of her I have in my head from the decade plus of engaging with her music/art and that for me is much more fun than trying to guess the reality of a woman I do not know

The entire idea was inspired off of THIS lovely little qna written a bit ago! havnt forgotten about it since! Despite what the AU might have you believe And recently I decided I could just draw out the fun part instead of go through the pain of storyboarding and cleaning up a nearly 4 minute long song 👍👍👍

Thats the idea though, theres no real plot, so no real context I can give other than the things the comic itself already provides. “This Is Home” just works incredibly well for this poor childs trauma, and it was a great opportunity to practice my composition and storytelling!!

Onto the deep analysis of every frame individually!!! (this is normal. this happens every time.)

The idea that Wingdings just eventually- gave up. Trying to connect with anyone. HURTS ME DEEPLY. I’m not sure if thats specifically because he just couldn’t get the font thing down, but I imagine that was a big contributing factor. But thats what specifically stops him here. He eventually slams his keys down on the board and says “IM DONE” and throws himself into a thing he can purely enjoy on his own- science. Even at a young age, I feel he only had 2 lives. One with Sans, and one with science. Then when those worlds combined when he became the royal scientist uhhh- I imagine it got worse.

Speaking of his young age, In these shots he’s also notably a tad older than the later depictions of his younger self with the scarf. Less full of joy and whimsy

“His mind is in a different place” is taken a tad more negatively than in the context of the song I feel, as he’s more or less isolated himself from everyone (but Sans) now in this “giving up” phase of his childhood. I wonder how Sans noticed/took that and if he tried to convince him otherwise, but in this case he just thinks he needs some time to himself.

Also let it be known that the words being crammed in at the “Give him a little bit of space” bit is on PURPOSE and a SILLY LITTLE JOKE/VISUAL GAG GIVEN THE LINE. I AM SO FUNNY.

The colors are also notably dark blues, that get greyer when Wingdings has given up. The light that Sans lets in ((looks into the camera, tearing up)) is still pretty cold despite it being brighter.

The berating is also in uppercase to show most of this is from Wingdings’ pov- I know he speaks in proper casing at this time, but I NEED SOME SORT OF INDICATOR, WORK WITH ME HERE. His main issue was his own self consciousness and desire to communicate properly, since it was said before on the blog that no one really picked on him for his inability to talk to them.

Then we have Papyrus!! The colors are similarly blue, but a lot brighter and a touch purpler and greener. Its from the same world, but not the same person. Also he’s wearing a yellow vest which is the complimentary color to blue ☝️

Papyrus is more heavily associated with warm colors in contrast to Wingdings, but this takes place very early on when he was very confused where his place was (or at least I assume thats what happened). He’s associating with warm colors (yellow) but is somewhat weary about it and still subconsciously clutching onto the comfort in familiarity.

The scene ofc depicts Papyrus being incredibly uncomfortable about any photos of himself as a child. It still definitely…looooks… like him. it just feels really wrong.

Similar thing to last time with the fonts as well, uppercase, Papyrus’ pov, he just wants to know who/WHAT he is.

I enjoy the colors in the photo and how they reallly stand out from the rest of the shot, just another emphasis that the photo feels otherworldly to Papyrus.

This is the part where I start weeping pitifully. The tiny Wingdings to Gaster comparison- it’s just so upsetting, I want to know what this poor child would think if he saw what he ends up as 😭

Wingdings enjoyed dreaming about the real stars he MIGHT get to see one day with Sans. The scene is dark, as it still hasnt happened yet, but still bright and hopeful as he stares up at the light! Its always a possibility. But then we have Gaster, who finally did it. He reached the stars, he gets to look up and say “wow…. I really did it”. Staring up at the void before him. Without Sans…I feel he wouldn’t ponder on it much, and consciously he doesn’t see anything bad about his circumstances, but the crack going down his eye that elludes to a tear says otherwise in the suppressed emotions.

The world Wingdings lived in when he was small, seemed so endless…Despite the underground being small compared to the real world, his imagination was endless. He could dream, he could imagine, and create things, get and give new ideas! But now as an adult that just so happens to be a lovecraftian entity, everything is much more simple and straightforward. At least from his perspective…Gaster may be able to DO way more than he ever could as a small child, but his mind is pretty one track at this point.

I wonder how Gaster feels…Now that they’ve gotten to the surface. without him

Im not sure how Papyrus in the game or even in the comic feels about stars, but Sans for one doesnt have to daydream anymore. They’ve also “done it” just like Gaster, but the hug insinuates less of that and more a “we WON”. They share in this moment together more emotionally than anything.

Again, compared to Gaster and them, they enjoy the moment in their own ways- Gaster just the action of seeing the stars, and Papyrus in what the moment itself means. I feel those are the 2 wants Wingdings had and thats a lot of what Papyrus and Gaster are. 2 halfs of Wingdings’…whole…thing

Also the stars welcoming him with open arms is both in reference to Sans but also Papyrus welcoming/accepting/loving himself…
