BTD/TPOF Valentine's Gifts To You~<3
Look I know Valentine’s was days ago but it’s one of my favorite holidays and I have no chill, so you all have to deal with the residual now. (*-`ω´- )人
THAT BEING SAID- here's a little 'what kinds of gifts/experiences the Boyfriend To Death/The Price Of Flesh crew would lavish you with on Valentine's day' imagine, let’s gooo!!! I hope you all enjoy!
18+ ONLY PLEASE!!!
Warnings: Abuse, implied past kidnapping, reader getting hurt, torture, noncon, dubcon, (please forgive the pun but) horrible people taking a stab at an ounce of ‘affection’ and mostly just making things more dreadful for you.
I hope you all enjoy! ˘³˘
Ren🦊- Will actually get you a sweet gift, something that he put time and thought into. Chocolates, a stuffed animal, a cute outfit, a figure of your favorite game/anime character that you have been eying, maybe even all of the above if he has the budget (honestly probably all of the above even if he doesn’t have the budget). He’ll present it really cutely too, like rose petal’s littering the ground leading you to the room where all the gifts are neatly displayed, giving a little ‘tah-dah!’ as soon as you discover them. He gets really excited watching you open them, explaining his reasoning behind each and every item he purchased/made you.
“All the chocolates in store looked boring, so I decided to make you some! I added your favorite ingredients, so I hope you like them!”
“This stuffed fox was too cute to leave behind and, well… I was hoping maybe it would sort of remind you of me? Anyway, I couldn’t leave the store without him! He belongs snuggled in your arms, just like I do!”
Just be mindful that in return he’s probably gonna put on a ‘cute romance anime’ of his choosing to end the night and that ‘cute romance anime’ is 100% just going to be hentai. From there, one thing will lead to another and he’ll make sure he gets a nice Valentine’s gift too. :) Oh, and if you don't like any of the gifts... It's best just to keep it to yourself. He'd hate to have to ruin the nice time you are having on this great holiday because you are being ungrateful.
➽───────────────❥
Lawrence🪴- Flowers is a no brainer, but he doesn’t want to give you something that’s too cliché or that you’ll just throw in a vase to watch slowly die. After mulling it over he decides to give you something with a little more meaning-a plant from his collection that he planted and grew himself. He would most likely pick something like an aglaonema (its valentine colored, right?) or some kind of succulent because they are easier to take care of. He’s a little worried that you are gonna find such a gift weird or see it as a hassle, that no matter how little maintenance the plant takes you’ll just let it end up dying regardless. But he supposes if anything this will be a good test of your bond-will you cherish and nurture the gift he gives you, or will you discard it and let it wither? Don’t make the wrong choice here, it would break his heart. (And your life honestly depends on it.)
➽───────────────❥
Strade🔪- You were dreading what kind of ‘present’ this man would concoct for you on Valentine’s day, but to your complete surprise he actually prepares something shockingly thoughtful for you. He’s set up a nice little homemade dinner for the two of you in the living room, complete with mood lighting (you hoped he didn’t have any surprise uses for the candles that burned around you), nice dishes and silverware (a rare luxury, considering how he usually makes you eat your food) and some wild flowers he had picked from out in the yard (did they have thorns? Were you gonna find that out the hard way?). The dinner itself is one of your favorite meals, and while it was maybe a tad bit overcooked and plated sloppily, it still tasted incredibly good. The catch? Well, I mean you have to have some kind of entertainment while you eat, right? Good thing Strade has a plethora of ‘home videos’ on deck to enjoy with you while you have your lovely little feast. Maybe watching them will spark something between you two, it’s certainly going to put him in the mood to reenact them with you. It’s Valentine’s Day afterall, why not have a little fun? <3
➽───────────────❥
Celia👩‍💼- It really just depends on her mood or what is happening the day of. You may end up getting  something nice, a little reward from her for being such a good and obedient pet.  She’ll gift you something thoughtful and sweet, like a nice piece of jewelry, expensive chocolate, or finely aged wine that costs more than you make in an entire month. She’ll be relaxed and pleased as she watches you enjoy her gift, taking satisfaction in how easy it was for her to delight you. On the other hand, if she is in a horrible mood or (god forbid) was forced to spend the holiday with her husband, the only thing you are going to be receiving is the brunt of her frustrations. If he bought her chocolates she’d force you to eat them all in one go, prying your mouth open to shove them in herself if you refuse to do it on your own, cramming them in until you nearly choke. If he bought her flowers she’d flog you with the bouquet, rose thorns tearing into your flesh until you were left in a pile of petals and your own blood, body littered with lacerations and angry red welts. Whatever half assed gift she was given or horrible date she was put through, has now become your problem as she uses you as an outlet for her resentment. And for the final celebratory Valentine’s act, she’d use you however she saw fit to get off (because she sure as hell isn’t getting any pleasure anywhere else tonight). Mine as well make the most of her time with her little sweetheart before she’s forced to go back and face whatever is waiting for her back home. You understand, right honey?
➽───────────────❥
Derek🦂- Honestly he forgets it’s Valentine’s Day, but it really doesn’t matter. He wasn’t going to go out of his way to get you anything or do anything for you anyway. If anything, he’d buy something for himself that he can either use on you or force you into for his own personal amusement. Some kind of constricting, demeaning latex gimp suit, or maybe a new whip he can assault you with. The more it hurts or humiliates you the better, because nothing brings him more pleasure than watching you suffer and squirm. Regardless of if he remembers the holiday or not, he’ll probably just spend the day mocking, assaulting, and/or torturing you anyway-once he recognizes the date, he may even go a little harder than usual as a treat to himself.  What are you gonna do, cry because your ‘Valentine’ is being mean to you? Hearing you beg, curse, moan, and scream in agony over all that he’s putting you through only makes it better, sweetheart. Like music to his ears! Even though it’s far from your intention, you are the best Valentine he’s ever had and though he won’t admit it, he’s thankful to you for that. Then again, maybe the holiday is just making him feel particularly sappy… Has he ever told you how pretty your tear stained face looks when you are choking on his dick, struggling to breathe as he forces himself down your throat? He’ll have to take a picture to show you next time.
➽───────────────❥
Mason🌲- He’s not very well versed with the ‘typical’ things people want or do for Valentine’s Day, and quite honestly, he finds it all rather obnoxious. To him it’s just some big show, a way for corporations to profit off people’s affections and sex drives to get them to spend money on cheap tokens of affection. Flower bouquets? They’ll just die. Stuffed animals? There’s no point to them. Jewelry? Useless baubles. No, the TRUE way to show your love for someone is through an EXPERIENCE. And what better experience is there then the thrill of nature? Maybe that makes him seem like a one trick pony- he did first meet you by purchasing you for his hunt, after all. But things were different now, you have proven yourself to him, proven that you have the know-how to survive out in the wilds. Now that you mastered it, you can truly enjoy it. He can tell you still didn’t really trust him (and honestly he isn’t sure you ever truly will) but he has faith you’ll eventually come around to this new way of life with him. He loves taking you out hunting and camping, the excitement he feels stalking his prey, the sense of purpose and connection he experiences living off of nature’s bounty, he’s found its much more enjoyable with you by his side. He hopes you feel it too- the buzz coursing through the air as he finally corners his quarry, how rousing it is when you land the final blow and get to drag your prize back home. He makes you watch as he skins and cleans them, finding importance in the act. You need to witness him doing his craft, learn from him, and really understand that you’re relying on him for your survival. Afterall it’s just the two of you out here now, it’s better to get used to it sooner rather than later. Come on, it’s time you took part in helping him prepare his slaughter. After you are done he’ll use the meat to cook you something nice, or prepare you some jerky so you’ll have something to snack on. This lifestyle is his ongoing gift to you, darlin’. Happy Valentine’s Day. ฅ՞•ﻌ•՞ฅ

I love Mermay! May I request a mer!reader x Sailor/Pirate!Fives? The reader is a siren and is technically supposed to be luring Fives and his friends to their deaths, but ends up not doing so after getting into a convo with him. When someone (Palpatine, Fox, random guy, whoever you want) does try to kill Fives, the reader is able to save him. Happy ending please!
Hi there! Yay! As I have said before, I will be writing all my requests, but MERMAY! requests have priority over others even though they have been requested on a later note!
Dear anon, ty for the request! We're def going for a "cruel" badass siren that will be to her surprise captivated with our charming pirate Fives. Palpatine is obviously the bad guy.
I don't know much about sailing and i'm trying to do a past era alternative universe thing, so ignore any incongruences and that.
I hope you like it!
Xx,
Sky.

"Being friends with the Captain doesn't allow you to lounge around, Fives" a voice almost identical to his teases him at his back.
The man in question turns around and grins. Echo has a half-fond, half-exasperated tiny little smile on his face. He's dressed in a similar way to him; thin linnen shirt with a deep opened v-neck and rolled up-pants, just in different tones of blue.
"Actually, it allows me to do exactly that" Fives retorts cheekily. Before Echo has a chance to put him into place, always the responsible of the two twins, he adds. "And I'll let you know lounging is a very important task on the "79's".
Echo arches an eyebrow. He crosses his arms in front of his chest; his hook just grazing the still pale skin of his left peck. Too much time spent trapped away from the sun.
"Is that so?" His brother humours him. The sun is hovering right upon them, bringing darker shades on Echo's already angular face. He's slowly filling out a bit, though, and for that Fives is glad. "How does that work, exactly?"
Fives tilts his head to the side. Echo always thought one of his twin's radiant smiles could iluminate any ship at the darkest of nights. That's the way he could eventually find the way back home, back to the 79's; Fives.
"Keeping a good mood is crutial to a ship's crew" his twin continues, going on one of his tangents. "It makes everyone work better, faster. Reduces fatigue and dangerous thoughts like plotting a mutiny".
Sometimes Echo wonders if Fives has all of this little stupid dialogues planned in his head just because, waiting for their chance to come up. The silliness of his twin's mind never ceases to surprise him; even after so many years of living together travelling through the seven seas.
"Like any of us would ever plot something of the sorts against Rex" Echo rolls his eyes, amused.
Fives shrugs, big smile still in his tanned face. They used to look so similar, Fives and him, before the accident. Now there are just... resemblances. Similarities. Probably the thing he hates the most about what happened –besides loosing his limbs–; how they had visually differentiated him so much of his twin, of his other half. For all Fives could be tiring and obnoxious, Echo knows he couldn't live without him. Even though getting used to his new body has been incredibly hard, he's glad for this second chance with him.
"I dunno' " Fives voice quickly brings him back to present time. He mimicks something dropping onto his head with his hands. "I think I'd look great with Captain Rex's hat".
Fives imitates the Captain's fierce expression and seriousness, still holding onto his imaginary pirate hat; and Echo can't keep the chuckles inside.
"You're a jokester, Fives".
His twin grins again.
"Don't make me repeat why that's important, now".
Echo smiles. Softly, this time.
Around them, at this time of the early afternoon, right after lunch, the crew of the 79' is surprisingly quiet and calm. The sea is peaceful today as well; nothing like the day before or the previous night. They're delving into dangerous waters, now. Places that don't quite appear on the map.
"What were you doing here anyways, all alone?" Echo asks.
Fives hums distractedly and glances in front of him again, at the sea; one leg staying inside the ship and the other dangling over board. The two of them have always been a little reckless like that; specially Fives.
"Thought I heard something" he whispers, then turns back to his twin again. His eyes suddenly look innocently young again, and his twin is suddenly reminded of past memories, of the two of them enlisting in the 79' when they were barely kids. "Do you think sirens really exist, brother?"
Echo sighs. They have all heard stories; but no one on board has ever personally seen one. He doesn't really know what to believe; could they be truly real, or are they just stories invented by lonely men that live by the sea?
"I don't know, Fives" he answers, going for honesty.
Fives hums, scanning the waters again; looking for something it's not quite there.
"If they do, do you think they're truly evil, like the stories tell?"
Echo stays quiet for some minutes. Then, he glances down at his hook; at the wood that replaces his legs. The skin that stays in contact with them feels sore and pained; he really should get some rest. He sighs, tired.
"I don't think so. If they do exist, and they do have something against us, I guess they'd just want to kill us directly, eliminate what they consider a danger and threat for their waters" he pauses and breathes in deeply. "I don't think they'd slowly torture us like humans do. We're the cruelest beings on land or not".
Fives golden eyes silently travel back to Echo's. He reads between the lines. He understands his point.
"You're probably right" he quietly answers, the moment unexpectedly delicate now. He shakes his head and smiles. Softer, gentle, now. "Come on. Let's go shut some eye".
Fives stands up with renewed energy, abandoning heavy feelings behind; and pats Echo's back affectionately. His twin nods knowingly, and follows him through the ship. Even though it doesn't mean he doesn't feel just as deeply –Maker knows he does–, Fives has never been one to hold up emotional conversations for too much time. They weigh heavy in his heart.
Echo takes his space on the thin cot –if you could call a bunch of old shredded clothes and blankets pushed together that– beside him and closes his eyes. Both of them, that night, dream of sirens and mermaids and all those stories the sailors spread around. They aren't aware how close they are to see some of those stories become alive.
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
You've been following them for two days now. Your job is to patrol the very limits of your world with the human's sea; and you were instantly alerted of their presence when they arrived, that enourmous ship of them difficult to miss.
It's not the biggest one you've seen. You had a fight with another one once, years ago; it's wood almost a dark black and it's sails a vibrant red. You still remember its name; Death Star. An aproppiate name for such an evil captain, such an evil ship. That fight was the main reason you had been assigned to keep all humans out of this waters; they just take and take, leaving nothing but destruction behind. You're not about to lose anyone else; not to the unforgiving, beautiful, yet terrifying sea, and definitively not to one of them.
This humans don't really seem to be looking for anything in particular. You had waited patiently, trying to find out their needs and wants; but reached no logical conclusion. They just seem to be... Wandering. Exploring. Ah, perhaps they're the curious ones. Many humans seem to be, just in the way young sirens are in their first years; wanting to swim through every single corner of the sea. See the world with their own eyes, and not through what elders tell them. You had been like that as well, in the past.
Mm. No matter. You're not putting the lifes of your people at risk just because these ones are looking fairly innocent. You know how quickly the tide can change directions, how surprising and dangerous the currents can be; and you're not going to let yourself be dragged by it. You'll do what you have to do; observe, wait patiently, and at night, lure them in. Your tongue wraps delicately around your sharp canines, excitement running through your veins.
You swim deeper into the sea below the ship. You almost feel impatient to play with them.
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
You curse under your breath, quickly hiding underwater when he almost catches sight of you while scanning the sea. You've seen this particular human before; often staring at the water or the horizon, a contemplative look on his face. He's a dreamer, this one; sometimes looking younger than you suppose he really is, others quickly snapping back to reality and jumping to his work with surprising skill. He's handsome as humans go; bronze skin looking smooth under the unforgiving sun and trained muscles peaking under his semi-transparent shirt. He has a strong jaw and nose, expressive eyebrows and golden eyes; a trait that somehow seems common with his fellow soldiers, maybe sharing the same origin, perhaps even some of them being family.
Watching him carefully under the distortion of the dark blue water, you're developed hearing catch a second voice entering the scene; and the human turns around in his precarious position on the border of the ship. This one is named "79's". It must be a reference to something you can't quite place; or perhaps a year of relevance to them.
Human tongue is quite easy to learn, contrary to your native Mando'a; so you have no trouble following the conversation even underwater. Both men hold affection clear in their voice; indicating a closer kind of relationship than two normal sailors on the same ship would have. The second voice sounds more mature to you; perhaps simply because this first human –Fives, you learn, what a curious name for a person– doesn't seem to take life very seriously. But then his voice drops, quietly asking something that makes your heart beat faster inside your chest; if your people are real.
It's a common thing to ponder between sailors. Humans like the tingling excitement of being a bit afraid; of imagining situations that may never end up happening in their heads. But no, this one doesn't sound at all afraid; just curious, cautious. When he asks his brother –you confirm– if he thinks stories about sirens are real, of what they do to humans, anger spreads like a fire inside of you. Oh, yes, because they don't do anything of the sorts to other creatures on this earth. The second voice –Echo's– answers in a quiet, delicate way; and you have to swim closer to surface just to take a look at him. You suddenly put things together; something horribly traumatic must have happened to his human, for him to look like that. You can't imagine living without your tail. It saddens you, inevitably; he's still handsome even like this, he would have been even prettier without his injuries. He would look like... Fives.
You blink, a bit confused at the direction of your own thoughts. Fives own voice tinges with understanding and fondness. He pats his brother affectionately, and then forgets about the sea; both of them quietly retiring for now, their steps echoing against the wood as they wook away.
You're left with a weird feeling inside of you. This two seemed... Kind. It isn't a word you usually associate with humans; but here you are.
You shake your head, mumbling to yourself. You won't let them fool you. Humans still carry all that darkness inside of them; that evil. You want none of that in your home, your sea.
Tomorrow, you say to yourself.
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Fives smiles fondly at the sight of little 'Soka staring at the full moon in front of them. It's as big as they've ever seen it; very close to the sea, iluminating a silvery path towards the 79's in the otherwise dark night.
Ashoka is pure energy. The girl is hiperactive even at hours like this, were most of the crew has already gone to sleep; too excited to lay still in bed in the cabin she shares with Rex. The Captain of the 79's had adopted her many years ago, accepted her in his ship with a blink of an eye after finding out Ashoka had been abandoned in land by Captain Windu no less –an ex-friend and current enemy of Rex–; the small girl quickly falling under his wing like his own daughter. Fives can't understand how anyone could leave behind a kid like that; Ashoka is the only girl aboard, but she is like their own personal ray of sunlight. Hope. She's a special kid; has a perfect eye on when to pursue their enemies and when to abandon or change routes, an innate pirate even as young as she is. Fives can only try to imagine what things she would be able to do with more age and experience.
For now, though, 'Soka's just a kid. And kids do silly things; like playfully sticking out her tongue and precariously balancing her steps in the baupress of the 79's. Fives rolles his eyes good-naturatedly. He isn't too hard on the kid; he had been fearless and oblivious to danger once too. Hell, he still is, sometimes. It's just his way of being; free. He doesn't want to die by Rex hands if something happened to her, though, so he motions down with a flick of his hand.
"Get your feet down here, m' lady" he jokes, then extends his hand to hers in a courteous offer.
'Soka laughs, a sound that echoes softly in the silence of the night.
"Mm. I don't know if I shall accept such proposition, good sir" she answers, standing up in the thin baupress as if it is nothing.
Her dark black hair, looking almost blue, flies freely with the wind even with her white bandana wrapped around it. Her skin is as tanned as his, freckles tracing the outlines of the white scars that mark her otherwise perfect face. Like Fives and Echo, she has basically grown up on a moving ship.
"I'd like to keep my head, my lady, if you'd be so kind to help me" Fives insists, eyes turning to a gentle warning.
Ashoka rolls her big blue eyes.
"Okay..." she grumbles, then, abandoning the theatricality.
She turns her direction with flowless agility and starts her careful way back to him.
The ship rocks dangerously in the water –the sea not completely peaceful today–, and Ashoka stops in surprise and fear, holding her balance as best as she can. Fives also holds his breath. The 79's stops moving and they both sigh in relief, staring at each other well aware of the risks.
The girl chuckles nervously.
"Welp, that was a close one." She guiltily admits, restarting her way towards him. "I keep forgetting this waters are dangerous and not exactly what we're used to, huh?"
Fives doesn't tear his eyes from her.
"Yeah" he agrees. "Maybe you should leave your acrobatics for when we're back on the GAR sea..."
Big, angry waves splashes against the botton of the ship again; a sudden move that disestabilises Ashoka for a second time. It all happens too fast; the girl's right feet steps just on the edge of the baupress, losing balance, and her weight leans too much over one side with a terrified gasp. By the time Fives has rushed forward in a desperate attempt to catch her hand, Ashoka has already been devoured by the dark see with a dooming splash.
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
You smirk darkly when the sound of a body hitting the surface of the water is transmitted under the waves. You almost want to laugh at the way the small human desperately moves his legs to try to stay afloat; the sea isn't looking good for creatures without fins tonight, and it is obvious that this female doesn't even know how to properly swim even in calm circumstances. Maybe it's just because she's small, you're not sure.
You strike at her –harshly tugging her leg down and sinking her under the surface– right when another body drops into the sea. You snarl, irritated by the interuption, and turn around, scanning the water around you. Just five or six meters away, there he is; the human named Fives, the dreamer, the one who almost discovered you ahead of time.
This one does now how to swim. Even though his eyes are clearly pannicked, searching for her fellow human companion among the darkness of the black waves, his legs calmly move just enough to keep him afloat; conserving very much needed energy. His clothes are stuck to his body; both humans look so utterly small in the openness of the water...
The small female human screams, terrified, still not grasping her new reality; and the man shouts her name in a hoarse voice, squinting and desperately trying to find her. The girl goes to shout again; and your clawed hand quickly reaches up to close around her throat –not to really cut her breathing of, but as a warning–. You're not known for your patience, and you really can't stand creatures screeching.
Fives golden eyes, still having a shine to them with the moonlight, finally turns to your direction; and his whole face morphs into wonder, fear and shock, quickly taking in your claws and sharp teeth, the gills on the side of your neck and the dangerous swoosh of the powerful tail behind you. The small girl trembles in your strong arms; you glance down at her, bored but curious at the same time. She really is the smallest human you have crossed pass with. Are those marks that shine white on her face scars?
"Please" Fives voice barely picks up with the sounds of the waves and the wind. "You don't want to hurt her".
His words and his firm stare stuns you for a second. Then, you laugh out loud, the sound being carried away by the howling wind.
You haven't used the human tongue for so long... Since that fight. You'd be kind to humour this human for now. Perhaps getting to know them for a bit before eliminating them would help you understand them better and kill them easier in the future. For as small as humans are, they do make interesting big weapons.
"Don't I?" You smirk, tongue wrapping teasingly around your rigth canine. You caress the girl's hair with the hand that is not carefully holding her against her throat. You push your nose up to her neck and smell; then tilt your face back to the male. "Mm. Perhaps not hurt her. Just quickly kill her, no pain".
Fives trembles in the cold of the sea. The girl too. You grin.
"Why?" Is his pained answer. He's trying to remain calm, you can see that, even if his insides live in complete turmoil. "To eat her?"
You make a face.
"No. Human is not my favorite kind of dish" you inmediately answer, then shrug desinterested. "You kill us, I kill you first. It's the sea's law, sailor".
Fives frowns.
"We kill you? I didn't even know you truly existed until now" he points out.
Ah, humans are such natural spokesperson. Always finding an argument no matter their cause.
"You're people" you correct, drawing a claw down the girls face, not enough to draw blood from it, just a distracted caress.
Fives face... Pouts.
"That's pretty unfair, if I may say so. You can't blame a whole species in the name of a few".
You let your gaze find his eyes again. He's so determined it's entertaining to watch.
"You claim you're different?" You ask, observing him.
He nods.
You can see the fatigue starting to creep onto him. You're holding the freezing girl with your own strength, but he's on his own. You wonder how much longer would he be able to stay afloat. Maybe you should just wait and watch him sink.
"See those scars on Ashoka's face?" His words pull your attention back at her white marks. She tries to stay still while you study her. "They were made by bad people. Cruel humans. My brother Echo suffered by others as well. And yet here we are. I love Ashoka as if she were my own sister. I love my twin. I'd do everything to protect them. I don't want to cause pain to them".
You huf.
"That's easy. No one wants to hurt people that are dear to them. What about other's that aren't? Would you care?"
Fives is stubborn. You'll give him that.
"I wouldn't purposedly hurt others for the sake of doing so. Or if there's any other way. Look, there... Must be some bad sirens too. People who just enjoy killing and hunting indefense creatures just because they feel joy watching them suffer; not a matter of protecting their home or territory. And there must be good ones" he breathes raggedly. "It's the same with humans. There is evil and kindness in every living being. If you'd only gave us a chance, you'd be able to see it".
You hum. He makes a point. The excitement melts down. Your curiosity doesn't. Are all humans this interesting?
"What is your Captain looking for in this waters, Fives?"
His mouth opens in surprise.
"You..."
"Know you?" You chuckle, moving your tail slowly. "Mm. I've been studying you for days, I know some things. The answer, sailor?"
Fives forces himself to push through his shock and confussion to answer you.
"We've been paid handsomely to explore this part of the Unkown Seas. We have a cartographer aboard, he's been working nonstop since we crossed the GAR frontier."
You hum, recalling those maps the humans use to sail the seas without getting too lost of their way.
"So there's nothing you want from us?" You insist.
To your shock, Fives smiles; a small, almost cheeky tug of lips.
"Well, I do have a lot of questions about sirens now that I've seen you, but no, not really. Like I said, we didn't even know you truly existed. We just want to make our trip and return to land safely".
You observe him in silence. You feel the girls energy draining too; blinking heavily.
"Mm" you hum, pushing her against his arms in a second. Fives stares at you, wide eyed, not expecting you to move that fast. "You can call for your human friends to help, sailor. I've decided I will just keep an eye on your ship for now".
Then, before Fives has the chance to answer, you tear your hands away from the girl and dissapear under the sea.
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Fives receives the reprimand of his life at Rex's personal delivery. He's task with leaving the ship shiny up and down; Ashoka also punished along him. If there's something the Captain of the 79's doesn't show, it's mercy. Oh, he's polite and gentle enough, if the situation calls for it; but he doesn't let things slip by. He's always aware, always scanning his crew with his amber eyes; and even though both 'Soka and Fives had tried to make the incident sound less of a danger, just an unimportant accident, there's really no way going around the fact that they had had a very close, dangerous encounter with a Siren.
Rex doesn't believe them at first. But then he sees the light marks on Ashoka's neck; there's nothing deep or worrying, but they're definitely shaped like some kind of claws, and he know's his fair number of fish and sharks to know they can't have done anything of the sort. Fives is guilty, yes, but he seems honest when he retells the experience. Ashoka too, a pleading look of forgiveness in her big blue eyes. Rex has no other option than to accept the story as truth.
Everyone on board of the 79's has the chance to see said siren with their own eyes a pair of days later. It's at night, so no one really sees her for quite some time; til Ashoka suddenly gasps and points out towards the see with wonder –and a sliver of fear– in her eyes. Rex quickly squints and stares in surprise. Well, that's a siren all right. The Captain and his men only have time to observe her for a minute before she smirks and plunges down into the water, her tail a silent goodbye.
Fives grins and elbows Echo.
"See? What a stalker. I think she likes me" he jokes, and Echo rolls his eyes pushing him with an exasperated smile.
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
"Morning, dear siren" Fives greets you, carefully using the ropes to lower himself with his feet against the outside of the ship's structure, still on his shining the 79's duty. "How has sleep being under there?"
You splash him with your tail in irritation. There's no peace with the sailor around; and he has developed the annoying habit of periodically coming to talk to you.
Fives gasps with the cold water drenching his clothes; but his face quickly morphs from surprise to cheerful amusement.
"Why, thank you. I did notice I had started to smell too" he then smirks and studies your body up and down in a way that makes you as mad as nervous. "Darling, if you just wanted to see me wet, though... There's better ways we can enjoy together."
Even though there's a blush fighting it's way through your face, you keep your expresion neutral and narrow your eyes at him.
"You're the most annoying human I've ever met".
Five grins; as if your words were a personal compliment for him.
"You're magnificent company as well, dear siren" he retorts, unbothered.
You tilt your head, glancing up at him. It's both funny and irritating the way this human talks to you. He should fear you; you could jump up right now and kill him in a blink, and yet he's always like this around you. Curious, awed, and cautious while being impossibly and purposedly irritating as well. You wonder if it's his weird human way of making friends.
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Fives reintroduces a wary Ashoka to you. It's only sensitive for her to be cautious; after all, you did have your claws around her neck not so long ago. After Fives' reassurance and a few patient words on your part, though, she quickly leaves the past behind; and watches Fives' careless and friendly interaction with you with bright eyes.
You grow fond of her as the days pass. It surprises you the way the girl seems atuned to other creatures of the sea; smaller ones like rain-fishes and seahorses always curiously coming up to meet her. You've heard of people like her before; humans with a special conection to the sea, with an instinctual understanding of it. Your people believe humans too came from the sea; and some just happen to conserve traits of their real origins more than others. If so, Ashoka is definitively one of them; and perhaps any of these sailors that seem for some reason persistent on spending more time at sea than in true land.
One late afternoon you ask Fives of this; of his will of travelling through the seas. You ask him wether he misses land, other human civilizations and things; but Fives shruggs with a smile. He tells you he likes it here, aboard on the 79's with his brothers, his family; and opens up about his own past as well. You listen to him mesmerised; feeling again like a kid whose being told interesting stories of lands far away.
After Fives finishes his and Echo's story –their misfortune making a strong feeling of protectiveness soar inside of you–, he glances at you with a tilt of his head, suddenly quiet and pensive.
"Plus" he continues, voice barely a whisper. "There's a certain peace you can't find anywhere else but the sea".
Even though his words are carefully soft and his demeanour almost shy –very uncharasteristal of him–, his bright eyes are full of heavy emotions; almost wanting to tell you a story different than what his words tell you. Almost whispering to you there's something more to his words than what they say.
You sink under the surface of the sea so only your eyes are peaking above the waves; needing the comfort of the water to hold his stare, this sudden shift on the atmosphere.
Fives hums, and you take a last look at him before dissapearing under the sea, running away from the human who's starting to make you feel things you haven't –and shouldn't– felt before.
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Rutine makes you complacent. You get so relaxed at the knowledge that the 79's is no risk to you or your species you forget to stay vigilant; forget that they're not the only possible danger at the sea.
It happens at night; when your senses are dulled by sleep, your body curled in a tight space between the rocks at the bottom of the sea. Your return to consciousnes is a slow and lazy process. You open your mouth wide before momentarily clenching your teeth; the rest of your body muscles tensing and relaxing as well with your tiny stretch. Your eyes open and you focus on your surroundings; it doesn't feel like you've slept more than a pair of hours, and you usually don't have a problem to shut the eye throughout the whole night. Something must have awaken you subsconciously. You've long learned to trust your instintcs, so you decide to explore the sea around your little safe spot for the night before trying to get some more sleep. Maybe there's a predator around here.
It's when you swim away from the rocks you've hid in when you inmediately notice what's wrong; your too far away from the surface for the water to feel agitated here, but when you glance up, you see the usually dark ocean lit up in orange and red. The inmediate thought of the humans –of Ashoka and Fives– being in danger crosses your mind; and you're swimming up, up, up, before you're able to realise it yourself.
Your head peaks through the surface of the water and you can't help but gasp, eyes widenned in fear. The 79's wrecked. Besides it... So is the Death Star. Both ships have been fighting for who knows how long and you were peacefully asleep. It fills you with a dangerous wave of guilt; and unstopable anger. This is the ship that cost you the live of some of your best friends. This is the reason your people is no longer friendly towards humans; the pain of the past reflected on scars and lost ones. Some part of you is afraid –terrified– of facing said captain and crew again; the other part of you feels ravenous. This is your chance of revenge.
You sink under the water and sing. It's a song every siren child is taught by their elders; a call for help no one ever ignores. Sirens will stop at nothing for their people, their pods. Your voice carries easily through the water; and you hear a distant echo answering you. You know it's only a matter of time your people arrive. You'll help however you can in the mean time.
Your trained eyes and senses zoom in the fight aboard of the 79's. The men of the Death Star are dressed in black, like a bad omen; the colourful splashes belonging to Captain Rex' men. Both ships aren't the only battlefield; some are even fighting in the water, perhaps after pushing each other over board, some swinging their blades on top of smaller life-boats and lost planks of woods. The repair for what's left of both ships would be slow and costly.
You sink under the waves and move fast; jumping and dragging the 79's enemies with you underwater, drowning them or sinking your claws in their vulnerable throats, their screams futile under the water.
You can't see Fives or Ashoka yet; but just as the first of your fellow sirens arrive, you see Palpatine and Rex. They're fighting on the Death Star; blades swinging at each other while they expertly balance on the edge of the ship. You stop right below them and stare intently upwards; trying to catch the Captain's attention.
You do. Rex' eyes flicker downwards; making contact with yours. He quickly goes back to fighting against Captain Palpatine –how such an old man can move that fast you'll never know– and you wait patiently, licking your lips. You know Rex has catched on your idea and you only need to give him some time to bring him to you.
It's not a difficult move. With the knowledge that you'll be there to push him again back to safety and simultaneously kill his enemy, Rex throws his own body weight against Palpatine with all his strength and they both fall into the sea.
You almost see it happening in slow motion, such is your desire to claw your way through him. You're closing your hand around his throat in a blink, as soon as his body crashes against the waves; eyes shining and jaw opening to show your teeth while you push your face close to his. You want him to have a good look at you before you kill him.
"This is for Qui, Plo and Aayla" you tell him, eyes burning in hatred and vengance, his pathetic tugs at your hands only fueling your resolve. "And for those you'll never be able to hurt again".
You don't let him speak his last words. He doesn't deserve it; and he's not going to rat his way out of this. You snarl and sink your sharp teeth in his neck, closing your jaw before vicously pulling back and tearing his throat open mercilessly.
The carcass of his body floats away in the sea.
You turn to Captain Rex, scarlet blood dripping down your chin. He's not scared; but almost proud and relieved as he nods at you. You nod back and quickly help him get to the 79's again, reuniting with your people and organizising the counter-attack.
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Once Palpatine is out of the way, the rest of his forces crumbles easily. In a matter of an hour, the few survivors of the Death Star scramble away in the remaning of their ship. You chuckle darkly. You know it's all for the enjoyment of your people; they'll do a slow hunt over the next couple of days, kill them one by one. Take their own personal revenge.
There's a conmotion up on the 79's. Rex is there, and so is Echo and Ashoka, the last two leaning down on the floor next to... Fives.
"What's wrong?" You quickly voice up from your place on the sea. "Is he okay?"
Captain Rex glances down at you worriedly.
"Blade sunk into his liver. He's loosing a lot of blood very quickly" he turns to look back to Echo and Ashoka. His expression saddens. "I... Don't think he has much time left".
Your heart starts beating out of your chest.
Fives, even gravely injured, lets out a wet laugh and jokes about it.
"I always thought you were a tad dramatic, sir".
Echo snaps at him, still squeezing his hand. You understand the sentiment. Now is not the time.
"Shut the fuck up, Fives".
You know he's scared. Everyone is scared. Echo, Ashoka, Fives, Rex... Even yourself. You've never felt this scared.
"B-bring him down" you whisper, then clear your voice and repeat yourself. "Maybe I can do something to help him".
"What can you do to help him?" Echo laughs, the kind of maniac sounding laugh that comes from a place of pure panic and terror from losing a loved one. "You're what, going to sing a song and magically cure him?"
It would be surprising to know that yes, that's...
"Something like that, yeah" you whisper, lost in your own feelings and thoughts.
You feel some of the other sirens splashing and moving their tails underwater hesitantly, wary. Nervously.
"Sister..." the voice of your friend Kid calls you from somewhere at your back.
You glance back at him. You know what he's going to tell you. You take a deep breath.
"I want to do it" you answer him, and everyone else.
They stay in silence, acepting your decission. It's a sacred thing for your species; for all sirens. The air feels heavy with understanding and expectations.
"Bring him down" you ask again, in the quietness of the night, and Rex gently squeezes Echo's shoulder before putting his faith on you and carefully laying Fives down in the last life-boat.
His brothers slowly lower it down til it softly contacts with the surface of the water and the small boat floats peacefully with the small waves. Two sirens quickly move to take a carefull hold of it so it doesn't drift away.
Fives turns his head to the side to look at you; hovering besides the boat with your claws lightly grassping the wood at the sides of it, head peaking over the water just enough to be able to look at him.
"Hey there, gorgeous" he smiles, and such brightness sends another painful dart to your heart. "Here to give me a goodbye kiss?"
Your own smile is wet with tears. It makes you let out a wet chuckle too. You haven't cried in... So many years.
"You should have thought of this strategy before" you decide to indulge him in his joke.
You know he's scared even if he doesn't want it to show. It males your decision easier; to know he's such a good person he doesn't want to make this more difficult for the people that woud be forced to watch him go.
Even though you feel almost eager for it, the need crawling up your throat, you're still afraid yourself. You've only got one chance for this. What if... It doesn't work?
You feel Kid's hand gently dropping on your shoulder, giving you the strength you need for this. You nod to yourself. The rest of the sirens form a circle around you; as tradition tells. They'll make sure nothing interrupts this sacred moment between you and Fives. Your hands tremble as you carefully place them on top of Fives' stomach wound. He makes a whimpered sound of pain and trembles, scared confused eyes quickly searching yours.
You look at him, soft.
"Trust me" you whisper. "And don't stop looking at me".
Fives doesn't understand what's happening, what's going to happen, but relaxes and nods. He can feel the exhaustion creeping in on him, the tempting feeling to close his eyes and surrender to the darkness. He focuses on you with the last of his strength.
You stop holding yourself back and let your voice sing your Song. You have never practiced it before; it's something that simply can't be, as it's not written before the moment arrives without announcement. It's instinctual, as simple and easy as breathing, and yet sounds so magical to all of those who hear it.
The first notes echoes in the silence of the night. It starts very quiet, almost a hum between your pressed lips, that slowly and unhurriesly turns into a whisper full of longing and melancholy. Fives is a human and you're a siren. It's not going to be easy. You have a feeling he won't care.
The Song fills with some softer, happier notes; lively and changing, more rythmical than the soft melody from before. A tiny smile makes it over to your face.
Fives is still looking at you. He wouldn't have been able to tear his eyes from you even if he tried. You're raw magic; raw beauty. And the sounds leaving your lips... He had never listened to anything so breathtaking in his life. He's hooked up in you.
Your gaze turns soft. You see his wound closing and healing by its self with just the corner of your eyes; and a warming relief spreads through your body, along with something sweet and gentle, painfully raw, longing and understanding. It's love.
The Song reflects those feelings; growing quieter as you keep staring into Fives' soul. You feel the notes slowing, your mind and heart finally wrapping around your feelings, accepting them, making them part of your own; and a last hum leaves your lips before the night is silent again, only interrupted by Fives' heavy breathing. Even if the Song is finished, he keeps looking at you like there's nothing else.
"That was beautiful" he whispers, dizziness still numbing his body and mind even if he's completely healed, now. He'll take some time to adjust. "Thank you".
You smile softly.
This is not your ending, Fives. But you need to...
The sailor squeezes his eyes shut. A painful headache stars at the side of his temple. He can barely concentrate in his surroundings now.
"Rest, Fives" you tell him, and he finally falls into unconsciousness almost instantly.
You glance up, noticing the wowed stares of the crew of the 79'.
"What was that?" Ashoka whispers in wonder.
You make Captain Rex a sign to let him now they can pull the small boat back up. You smile at the girl.
"My Song" you answer, misteriously. You glance at Echo, anxiously curved forward as if in a try to reach Fives quicker. You try to soothe his worries before dipping under the waves. "He'll be okay, just needs some hours of rest. I'll come back tomorrow".
With that, you nod to your pod and you slowly swim away. Your soul tries to tug you back towards him, but you comfort yourself thinking you'll be back to talk with him after some very much needed rest.
Patience.
You feel like a baby Siren again.
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
"Care to explain to me what kind of voodo magic you did to me to turn me from a corpse to my handsome self again?" is what Fives first chirps at you upon seing you arrive the next morning, him waiting patiently for you in the small boat again, this time a bit further away from the 79's.
You smirk and place your folded arms over the border of the boat, resting your right cheek on top of them.
"I already told Ashoka" you answer playfully. "It's my Song".
Fives snorts and carefully pushes himself closer to you. You track the movement, distracted.
"Yeah, your song" he repeats, squinting and tilting his head in questioning. "Echo told me the other Sirens acted as if we were getting married or something".
You laugh freely, Fives smiling unconsciously.
"Well, singing your song to another holds pretty much the same meaning for my people. Your circumstances pushed me to do it way earlier than I would have prefered but... It's okay. You're okay".
Fives eyes turn soft.
"I know you love being all sexy and misterious. But tell me what has really happened, please?" His voice is also gentle and full of warmth.
He should know.
"All Sirens have a special personal Song. It's something instinctual that can't be repeated or prepared; born of raw feelings, desires and needs. It's different to other songs we sing. We don't use our normal vocal cords for this; it comes from somewhere within, deep in your soul. Sirens believe our kind are made of magic and music combined into one, and protected by a physical body shape; that of a predator so it can defend the pureness it holds. This Song... Can only be sung once, to just one other being, and it will create a special bond no-one but the two of them would be able to break. From that day on, this two beings will always be linked to each other, perhaps even able to feel or hear the other; and the Siren won't be able to sing in this kind of way to anyone else, ever again".
You grow quiet; waiting, patient. Expectant. Fives barely blinks.
You're not afraid to him not corresponding your feelings now. If it were that way, your Song wouldn't have worked the night before. A Song can't be an impossed thing; it must be accepted by the other's soul. Fives has subsconciously done that already; if his present mind needs more time to process it, nevertheless, you're willing to give him that.
Fives finally takes a deep breath in, noding in quiet understanding, before showing you his own signature smirk and closing the distances between your faces so that your nose is barely grazing his.
"Well. I think I'm definitively finally winning a kiss" he tempts you, eyes shining with mirth.
Your small laugh is pure unadulterated happiness. With your soul almost vibrating inside your chest, you cup his strong jaw and close the insignificant distance between you.
You kiss him –passionately, then gently– and Fives smiles against your lips.
THE END.

Vaggie Defense Post
Tumblr media
Okay. I need to get this off my mind. I've been seeing alot of anti-Vaggie (sometimes crossing with anti Chaggie posts) about how she's a "bad/evil" person for lying to Charlie, that Alastor or Adam are better than her because they didn't lie. And I'm just floored at the blatant mischaracterization of her. And I need to set the record straight by making reminding these certain fans of a few things they are deliberately not acknowledging
EVERYONE at the Hotel are FLAWED, including both Charlie and (especially) Alastor. None of the m are without fault and all of them (sans Charlie for now) have a body count. Plus, Alastor was a serial killer in life and even in Hell and he makes no qualms about enjoying his kills; and while we haven't seen how Vaggie felt as an Exorcist prior to her fall, in the present she is deeply ashamed of her past and is looking for redemption.
I understand people find Alastor appealing and that's great but make no mistake: ALASTOR IS NOT A GOOD PERSON. While Alastor has kept his promises to Charlie and the Hotel crew, he is also blatantly clear that he's only there to see them fail. He ONLY gave Charlie vital info against the Exorcists when it was convenient for him; if he was truly a good person from the start (as many of his fans seem to think he is), he would've given the info freely. And as side note, he also would've put more effort into remaking the Hotel but didn't because he doesn't care. He's an abusive soul owner to Husk. He only referred to Charlie as his daughter to get under Lucifer's skin. And his lyrics in "Ready For This" shows he wants to guide aka manipulate Charlie to harness her power so he can use it for himself. In short, Alastor is an entertaining character but's he's a selfish, prideful, manipulative, and sometimes pettily cruel person with his true goals still not known.
In contrast to Alastor, Vaggie has been with Charlie since the beginning, before they got traction. Yes, she hid her origins and that was a fuck up (something Vaggie acknowledges) but she still genuinely and openly supported Charlie not only out of love but also to redeem herself. She sang part of a whole song about how she wants to be her partner and protect her; not of some end goal but simply because she loves her girlfriend. While she's not perfect, she's also protective and honest with the Hotel occupants and gave them a choice to leave the Hotel in "Hello Rosie", understanding that none of them asked to be in a war. Vaggie may be flawed but she's a caring, loyal, protective person who would fight for those she loves with no pretense.
Going to the people (or, in my case just the one commenter on YouTube) who think Adam of all people is better than Vaggie as a person? No. Entertaining character? Sure. But he's a violent, arrogant sociopath who tried to blackmail Vaggie into compliance and lied at various points during the trial; so he's not as honest as some fans claim. Vaggie, in contrast, lied about her past but other than that, has been truthful about her feelings and goal from the start.
Honestly, I think some of the Vaggie hate comes from some (not ALL) of the Charlastor shippers. I don't like, I love Chaggie but ship who you want. But don't character assassinate, it's not cool. You can like a fanship without being nasty to a canon ship, which flaws or not, isn't unhealthy or bad.
While I do agree to an extent that Vaggie needed her own special moment to shine, I think it may have been out of the crew's control; just speculating but given how Hollywood is doing only 8 to 12 episodes to save money, I wouldn't put it past them. But maybe with the global success of the show, Vaggie may get more screentime. Her VA even hinted at to some extent by mentioning how Vaggie's bow would be symbolic for her character's journey.
For people who are anti-Chaggie - Fine, ship who you want, it's not the end of the world. But for god sake, could you please put your anti-chaggie posts in the anti-chaggie section and NOT the chaggie section? It's just good manners.
In summary, like who you like and ship who you like to ship. But don't character assassinate someone to do it.

She stuck out like a sore thumb.
“She's one of them city girls,” Jess told his brother, who was crouched beside him, brow furrowed with their daddy’s rifle held straight up between his knees. “You could always tell by their hair.”
“What you mean?” Jay questioned, both of them speaking in a whisper. The girl’s platinum blond hair stuck out against the forest's foliage, and her manicured nails felt the tree bark in front of her with awe-filled eyes like she’d never seen a tree before. Russ pointed to her from the brush they were hiding in.
“It's not real. That color don't exist naturally.” Jay had never thought about it like that. He craned his neck to look at the girl again, peeking from the brush to watch her again. She had been a pretty little thing. She was skinny, with a round face and big eyes that looked around at everything like a curious rabbit. She looked like a rabbit, Jay decided. He often compared people to animals, as animals were all he knew besides his brother and his daddy, who they had buried that spring.
Now, all Jay knew was his brother and animals.
“Her clothes are nice,” Jay said out loud instead of keeping his thoughts to himself. Jess craned his neck to look at the girl’s outfit, shrugging in disinterest. The brothers were dressed in their daddy’s old clothes that he wore when he was their age. The only item of clothing on them from this century was the bulky camo jackets they got for Christmas last year. It was their only present. Well, Jay’s only present. Jess got their father’s rifle because he turned twenty-five that year. That was the family tradition. Jay was supposed to receive the hunting knife when he turned twenty-five, another long-kept family tradition, but now, with their dad in the ground, Jay wasn’t sure if he would ever get that knife.
He wasn’t sure if he even wanted it.
Jay knew their father didn’t like him. He always reminded him that he was supposed to be a girl, and the fact he came out of his mama backward was what killed her. Jay carried the weight of his mother’s death on his shoulders from the time he was brought into the world. That was probably why they’re always slumped over.
“City girl outfit. She don’t belong in no forest.”
She was wearing a pale blue dress with little white flowers on it. Jay thought it had been pretty. He thought she was lovely. He couldn’t voice that thought, however. Jess didn’t like to talk in the forest too much. He said there was no talking when hunting. Jay hated silence. He’d rather be in a room that echoed everything he said back to him before sitting in silence.
Jay stared at the girl again, taking in her features this time. It had been a long time since he had seen a girl, especially one as pretty as her. Typically, girls like her didn’t just appear in the forest, especially clean and well-kept. The last time Jay saw a girl this pretty had been seven months ago, but she had been a mess by the time they had caught her. Bloodied, sweaty, and covered in dirt from running so much. Jay couldn’t stand it when they ran. It made everything ten times harder than it needed to be. He wondered if this one would run. Her legs were skinny and didn’t look like they could carry her far. The more he pictured her running, the more the thought of her being a rabbit solidified in his head. Jay gulps.
“She’s pretty, isn’t she?” Jay bargained, looking up at Jess with his big brown eyes and a teasing smile to test the waters. Jess, who had just finished loading bullets into the rifle, looked at his brother unamused. Jay kept staring at his brother with an unweaving gaze until he cracked a small smile, shaking his dirty blond hair.
“Prettier than the last one.”
“The last one was a guy. Of course, she’s prettier,” Jay argued, looking over the brush to see the girl kneeling in the grass, plucking dandelions from the ground. “She’s like an angel.”
“No angel has platinum blond hair, dumbass.”
“You never seen no angel before,” Jay snapped, his head whipping back to look at his brother as he cocked the rifle back. Jay felt the fun begin to bleed out onto the forest floor, and a coldness filled him.
“You don’t know what I’ve seen.” Jay didn’t reply. It felt as if his words had turned into acid on his tongue, burning him as they tried to spill out, and it only made his mouth shut tighter. He felt sick. He always felt sick during this part. At first, the pain was bearable. He would ignore it and swallow it as his dad told him to do, but now, years later, he found the pain to be excruciating, as if someone was pricking at his tendons and pouring salt into his eyes. He couldn’t stand it.
He hated this part. The first shot had always been the worst.
Jay looked up at the blue sky, silently counting the big puffy clouds slowly rolling through the vast big blue. His brother’s fist landed on his arm, causing Jay to flinch before slowly bringing his gaze back down to lock with his brother’s hard one.
“You need to watch,” Jess instructed as he positioned the rifle, the butt of the gun against his shoulder. “It was the only way you’d learn.” Jay sighed at the same old excuse now ingrained in him.
He needed to learn so he could help provide. He had needed to learn to keep the soil prosperous.
Jay watched his brother look through the scope of the rifle, his finger on the trigger. Jay knew the pattern well now. Jess took a deep breath through his nose. It had been nothing new. There had been nothing new in this forest. There had been nothing new between the brothers.
He pulled the trigger. The shot had been silenced, but Jay still flinched, shutting his eyes tightly when he heard the girl shriek. A thud echoed through the woods, but only Jay and Jess were there to listen to it.
Jay had thought about that often. He, his brother, and the hunted were the only ones to hear what happened between them. No one went into this forest, only the ones called to it. Jay reminded himself of that often how the forest would call those whom they hunt to her. This was how it was all supposed to go. This was life.
Jess got up, slinging the gun over his shoulder. He towered over Jay, silently demanding him to follow. Jay could hear the girl sob and groan in pain, the sound of leaves rustling underneath her as he assumed she tried to drag herself away like they always did. Jay’s body felt hot and suddenly sticky, his guts feeling acidic.
Jay’s knees cracked as he stood, rolling his neck with a tired sigh as he dragged himself behind his brother. He stood in the brush for a moment, keeping his gaze on the leaf-covered ground, and studied the various shapes of the cracked leaves beneath him.
“Dammit,” Jay heard Jess grumble. Jay looked up from the ground and walked over to the girl and his brother. Jess had his foot on the center of her back, huffing through his nose as he looked down at the girl who sobbed and wailed against the first floor. It was a tragic sight, in Jay’s opinion. It made his face pinch and chest ache as he had just drank the cough syrup his dad would make him when he would get sick. Sickly sweet and thick as sap. It left his chest burning and stuck on his tongue for hours.
“I aimed for her neck.”
“You got her hip,” Jay pointed out the obvious, pointing to the wound on her hip that left a growing blood stain on her pretty blue dress that was rising with every thrash and kick of her legs. Jay tried not to look, but the exposed skin of her thighs was tempting, causing him to steal glances at the pale skin he’d never seen on a woman before. He had never seen a woman like her before, especially this exposed. It felt wrong to look at her for too long, as if he was tainting something he already helped destroy.
“No shit,” Jess snapped. Jay rolled his eyes at Jess’s tone, his gaze already adverted back to the girl’s face. Even when she cried, she was beautiful. He wanted to touch her. His fingers twitched at the thought of brushing her hair out of her eyes and over her shoulder. He wondered what the strands felt like. He would bet his left hand that her hair was soft and her skin smoother.
He could hear Jess rustle in his pocket for the hunting knife. Jay felt a chill run down his spine as he realized what he was doing. He quickly pulled his gaze away from the girl and stepped back, his heart racing. He knew what was about to happen. He had seen Jess do this a thousand times over to humans and animals alike, but this was no animal, and she was no human either. She was something different to Jay. The thought of Jess grabbing her by the crown of her head, pulling her up, and slitting her throat was too evil for Jay to bear. For once, it felt wrong.
Jay reached out abruptly, grabbing his brother’s arm as he shook his head.
“No,” Jay demands for the first time in his life. Jess is shocked but intrigued, his brows raised curiously at his brother’s refusal. “Not her. She’s different.”
“What’s so different about her?” Jess refuted. Jay wasn’t sure how to answer, but his gaze returned to the girl, Jess’s following to try and understand.
“Remember what dad told us? About our mamas? How he’d catch them so he could have us to keep feeding the forest?” Jay never liked the story of how his dad caught his mom. It was violent and grotesque, as was most of what their father did and said.
Truthfully, Jay never liked his father. He was like a sleeping bear in a cave, hiding and quiet but big and deadly when he wanted to be. He would beat the living daylights out of either of the boys just for holding the rifle wrong or looking at him for too long with a “funny” look on their face. Jay often thought about his mother and the pain she must’ve gone through when she was with their father. He thinks, in a way, he set his mama free from this life. He wondered if she would be proud of him.
Jess tensed at the mention of his mama but nodded. Jay nodded his head down at the girl.
“She’s perfect for that…Don’t you think? I think so. I know so,” Jay adamantly told his brother, nearly desperate at this point to keep this girl alive for no other reason than for himself. Jess looked near pursued, looking down at the girl once more before he dropped down abruptly to pull her hair out of the girl’s face to observe her features.  Jess studied the girl intently before nodding his head in agreement. Jay heard the girl softly whimper the closer Jess got to her face, softly pleading for him not to hurt her, but her pleas in the slightest didn’t phase Jess.
He had heard it all a billion times over in every voice imaginable at this point.
“We’ll test her out,” Jess agreed. Jay couldn’t believe that his brother agreed so willingly. He wondered if it was his rigid approach or maybe he did see that the girl was special. Jay blinked his large round eyes at Jess as he stood up and backed away, finally relieving the girl of his weight off her back. Jess nodded down at her.
“Fix her up and get her back to the house. Make sure she don’t bleed out…Not yet, anyway.” Jess gave the girl one last glare before walking away, leaves crunching behind him. Jay watched his brother until he walked into the brush, letting it swallow him up and making him disappear into the forest. When Jess was finally gone, Jay looked down at the girl with a gulp. Her sobs had turned into soft whimpers, and her manicured fingers twitched against the soil as Jay looked her over.
His lips twitched into a smile, kneeling beside her with a soft chuckle as he leaned closer. His fingers brushed the girl’s hair out of her face with an awe-filled hum when he saw her face again. “An angel,” Jay whispered, his fingers brushed against her cheek. The girl flinched, a loud whimper leaving her lips even though his touch was gentle.
“I’m gonna take care of you, angel. Don’t be scared.” Jay didn’t know what made him say that to her, but he felt it was right.
Everything felt right.

heyy worm! The new fic?? Please i need more! How and when would schlatt start to - not like.. that would i think take a while- but maybe accept~appreciate the readers present in the station? How would they bond except for the shared moments they will inevitable have?
Seeing them in action in the field, for sure, would be a big game changer, I'd think. He has this mindset, given the past recruits that have came and went through the station, that most of the new 'generation' (he's literally apart of that same generation, but whatever) are more concerned with looking cool and making an impression than their actual job.
He's seen and heard countless recruits try and flex about how 'everyone wants to date and sleep with a firefighter' or something of the like as a reason to explain why they joined the profession, and it makes him sick, leaving this sickening taste in his mouth, and because more than one or two people have said this, it's solidified this idea in his mind that new recruits just don't care about the job anymore, fueled by ego and desire rather than wanting to help and protect the community.
So, as much as he talks shit and openly hates on the reader, when he finally sees them in action, not even sparing a glance to the crowd that watches the crew put out the fire, solely focused on their job of escorting civilians out of the building, double and triple checking that the burning building is emptied out of all forms of life (ushering cats and dogs out, too), putting their life in danger time and time again, call after call, he starts to soften up.
You're right to assume that it would take a while for him to actually like the reader's presence, but once the initial wall crumbles, the goal is much more attainable.
Doing simple things like taking care of the paperwork that he's been handed off, some bland documents that need looking over, and taking it for yourself, or cooking the station a meal or making a fresh pot of coffee, maybe showing some love to Jambo here and there. Doing those kinds of things gets him a lot more comfortable with the idea of you, let's say.

DOCTOR GUY: Would you please put out that cigarette? It's really not allowed. HARMONY: Oh yeah? Says who? The doctor turns to look pointedly at the NO SMOKING sign on the wall. HARMONY: Oh god, sorry! Didn't see the sign! She turns away to put out the cigarette.

Entry 003 - NieR Reincarnation <<Prev: Dragon's Dogma 2
Synopsis
Living in the shadow of its predecessors a [g___] grapples with the fact that it was born shouldering the burden of Reincarnation.
And don't forget, Mother is watching. Don't. fuck it up.
gambling that whatever they announce next week makes parts of this post irrelevant
How much did I know before playing?
I played it since the JP launch despite not understanding a single word and I've played every DrakeNieR Adjacent thing in existence except for DoD2 (no interest, sry) and... NieR Automata which I refuse to play at this point - but I guess that just means you can't complain that I haven't played DoD2 lol.
Did I like it more than I expected?
I did in fact not expect the Gacha game to turn out the best NieR game but here we are.
Since I liked it, here's what I hated about it
Despite its (to me) clear intention to present a diverse and not particularly "objectified" cast it still has a visible bias towards a certain group of characters - by which i of course mean the waifus, because those make more money. But it means that certain characters never get the 'worthless' free event units while some only get them - snd I mean, just look at Priyet who has 3 less costumes than Yurie who came out months after her.
Also, the story was clearly supposed to be longer, especially with 10H's more-than-swift in- and ex-troduction, but tbh I didn't particularly mind it? 'Cutting it short' didn't ruin anything even though it could have taken the game a bit longer to end - but I wouldn't have said no to a Purple Season 3 Chapter either.
Also also, 'Tis evident that this ludus has maybe one singular mention of our Lord and Saviour YoRHa:Dark Apocalypse (henceforth referred to as Y:DA) - and even that one mention is marvelously vague. Father, are you ashamed of your best work? Is it because it doesn't qualify as its own game? Please, I beg of you to acknowledge the existence of the Crime & Punishment fanfiction sequel you wrote in a MMORPG cross-over! Do it for meeee!
What did this game make me think about?
Reincarnation is a Cage.
Specific Impressions that will stick with me
Honestly? A lot, so this is very non exhaustive.
The Art, both 2D and 3D, especially the very limited usage of color.
The Story and how exactly it was written. Every single line in this game pulls at the same rope and that's impressive for a game that's basically a very, very complicatedly put together Collection of Vignettes written from more than 5 people.
How thought through this game's structure is - how and when what kind of story was introduced/unlocked, stuff like that. I even thought "the grind" wasn't pointless okay, sue me but it makes the pay-off from the ex stories feel better.
Sarafa and Priyet
Outstanding Audio
The entire soundtrack, as always the crew at MONACA is beyond mere mortals - and honestly, Shotaro Seo deserves more credit for his NieR work!!! (also he's cute but that's besides the point)
Here are some fave picks:
Inori, Kizuna & the S3 Main Theme
Kusabi (i love seo's voice i think its so funny that they just used him as the male voice)
Mizukagami
Madan & the S3 Battle Themes
The Return of Normandy
The Mourning Mother Theme, All Versions (if this one doesn't come back in one of the next games i swear to mother)
The Final Boss Theme
Favorite Character
this is so hard why would Past!Me make me choos- Sarafa.
also mama, dark mama and papa and fio and levania and saryu and yudil and priyet and yuzuki and hina and argo (bc he's an idiot) and akeha and frenlise (still not sure why that's the only name they changed) and- all of them, i love all of them, some more than others but all of them except for the carrier, fuck the carrier also anogg y:da should be on this list
Favorite Arc/Story Line
Sun/Moon Story
Favorite Set Piece
The S3 Cage is so fcking gorgeous, around every corner another compositional marvel, they went above and beyond.
Favorite Scene
Priyet's Hidden Stories
The Library
Mourning Mother
Best Performance (I played with JP voices)
Yumi Hara as Mama.
--- ENTERING THE PRETENTIOUS SECTION OF THIS ENTRY --- reminder that the pretentious section is called that way for a reason, don't take it too seriously
What about this game gives me Hope for the future of gaming?
I guess the death of the Common Gacha is somewhat imminent if even Square Enix is giving up on it. A shame that what's left in its wake (the Gacha with "Gameplay Value") is so much more worrisome than shitty jpg dispensers ever could be.
And I don't know, I guess I'm just excited for Yoko Taro's next big hit because he has yet to really miss. Sadly this game won't set any industry standards in the ways I would like it to :/
What about this game makes me scared for the future of gaming?
The Internet has figured out that complaining about things that everybody agrees is bad is fun - and that's nothing new. What's new is that they have at this point seen enough video essays to make their incessant complaining sound like "Criticism."
The problem I have with that is that these surface level "Criticisms" taint the stage, so to speak. Everyone is constantly mad at the mere mention of Microtransactions or of Gacha Games (except, of course, if it's one of the popular ones) and it makes it so that "not critizising" Gacha Games for even just existing in the first place makes you "uncritical."
Can you tell by my usage of Quotation Marks that I do not like the word Criticism anymore?
And I wish that my only stake with this is that I think this shit is annoying as fuck. That I think it sucks that every person having something, anything genuine to say about this game feels the need to state how they know Gacha games are bad because Capitalism sucks - a so surface level fact I would genuinely struggle to believe anyone who would agree with that hasn't already caught on to it yet.
But no - that's where our public interrogation of this type of media starts and ends, because god forbid we have a more nuanced opinion about this shit than "Gacha Bad".
Instead of talking about anything below the surface, good or bad, be it the artistic merits of this game I really like or the actually deeply fucked up evolution on the Gacha Formula the Industry is going through to make their practices more palatable despite being so much worse and deeply ingrained into everything else - resulting in an ecosystem that's so much more dangerous than anything Square Enix could ever hope to come up with.
Instead of talking about any of that I get to hear people act high and mighty about how smart and brave they are for voicing an opinion everybody shares with them.
Meanwhile Hoyoverse has made it cool to just take whatever game is currently popular and turn it into an industrial-grade FOMO machine printing object women of the week and money and everybody unironically endorses it, creates endless amounts of free publicity through fan-art & co, feeding into this FOMO cycle that's already exacerbated by games solely built to drive you to FOMO through all of its built-in game design mechanisms - all so you gamble your money away for your own enjoyment - but that's 'better', actually, 'because it has good gameplay.'
[This is where I cut a lengthy section about how Japanese Idols and Gacha Games are both selling the same things. It was very informative and you are disappointed you're missing out on this quality content.]
Because clearly, the problem with Gacha Games has all this time been that Gacha Games have boring gameplay and not that they do everything in their power to addict people into spending money on parasocial relationships to people (mostly women) that don't even exist, all to impress themselves and their friends.
and also you guys it looks kind of silly when you say 'good riddance, you cheap cash-grab' to a game that a) clearly wasn't that cheap and b) clearly didn't grab that much cash
The Ramble Section where I get to actually talk about what I thought about
[This is where I cut a lengthy section about my complicated feelings towards Video Game Archiving and how Lore is a blight. It was very informative and you are disappointed you're missing out on this quality content.]
So a couple days ago Yoko Taro met up with the Stellar Blade guy and the only thing I can think about is... well...
Was 2B a mistake?
I mean, it's kind of a sign of how good he is at analyzing the topic at hand so take that as you will, but the fact is that Yoko Taro set out to create the most objectifiable women he could think of - and he was so good at it she has become what is probably the most objectified female character of our time.
And yet, despite knowing that that's not really a good thing - because clearly he did all of that for a reason and Reincarnation didn't really do all that despite being a Gacha - he continues to just... enable people (and by people I do mean Men) to keep doing these kinds of disgusting behaviours to an entire gender, fictional or not. Things that Automata at least to some degree criticizes through 9S (like there's a reason he's the final boss you guys)
And I guess it just feels shitty to see Yoko Taro publicly give this game his stamp of approval when the entire existential premise for Stellar Blade seems to be that clip of Yoko Taro saying "I just really like girls"; a shitty quote that 100% has caused women some societal harm he has yet to r3pent for because Gamers took it and ran - and now we have another game with a big tits SciFi Woman for Men to objectify and I'm pretty sure this one won't have the underlying subtext of "maybe objectifying women is not all that great you guys"
But then there's stuff like putting a shallow husk of 2B - and they somehow also always feature the butt out version too, isn't that interesting - into any game that will take her - which is pretty much every game that is physically able to because thanks to her standing for nothing but ass woman in the popular conscious everyone wants a piece of that free money from horny gamers.
And I guess I have to legally state that that's fine or else the horny fun police is taking me in, but with how he's treating this character outside of the game it feels like it does such a disservice to the points he makes in his games (plural bc of dod3) and that fucking sucks because clearly the world isn't ready to move on from 2B so she'll be around, and with her a symbol that actually, it's fine to objectify your female characters - full stop because nobody but us few cares about the things he's criticizing through subtext.
And it sucks that to SquareEnix her stupid ass (like literally just her ass) is going to overshadow anything Reincarnation has ever done, all the interesting points it makes about societal agency and human relationships and gender and consent and family - because I wouldn't be surprised if NieR 4 manages to barely acknowledge Reincarnation's existence at all while still churning out YoRHa DLC - I mean just look at how they treat Drakengard, which for its 20th anniversary got... an entire tweet.
Like. They didn't even play Reincarnation Music at the NieR Concert!!! Not even Inori!!! It's been three years, why was there no Reincarnation Music at the fucking NieR concert??? I guess we'll just hear Grandma and Kainé and Weight of the World Remixes forever because squeenix mandated that everything that's not the big 2 games can only be referenced in vague subtext (and listen, I love how NieR treats Drakengard Lore, I will be severly disappointed if he ever actually explains any of it - it just hurts my soul that Kuroi Hana has never been performed live) (also y:da's final boss theme should have been a kuroi hana arrangement and not kainé but i guess licensing is a bitch so there's that)
But I mean it is kind of funny that NieR Reincarnation is in a Reincarnation Cage of its own. It's living in the shadow of its predecessors, grappling with the fact that it was born shouldering the burden of Reincarnation. Another Yoko Taro story whose story is about itself. (can i interest you in a german review i wrote where i explain which other yoko taro story also does that) (it's y:da, it's always y:da)
I guess all I can say is that you're clowning about Women, Yoko Taro, and I really hate that. Do Better, as they say. I wish you would publicly talk about literally anything else at this point, especially since you made a good point and then ruined it by not just simply shutting up about it like you do about anything else you do. (remember the ff14 live stream where he proceeded to not answer a single question about y:da? iconic behavior and absolutely the right choice)
And you have so many other good points to make that you could talk about instead! ...then again I swear to mother if Kamierabi really is about how Abortions are bad I will abort you, we have a perfectly capable successor in Yuki Wada right there. (btw praise be Yuki Wada, the true hero of this story, living his dream with his two nier ocs hina and yuzuki)

Just found out that Will Byers was born on March 22, 1971. And the craziest thing is that I put the missing pieces of the puzzles together and figured out that Mike Wheeler is younger than Will Byers by 16 days.
Life & World : " moves & revolves on"
Me: "shook over the fact that Mike is younger than Will and that I had always thought that Will was the youngest of the duo."

I don't particularly know Dustin's, El's, Max's or Lucas's birthday but Will is always shown as the youngest in the group so I'm assuming Mike is the youngest one in the heroes group before Erica.

your tags make me worry. did lapidot become canon behind my back?
I also received a reply about this so I’m answering both things under read more because the su fandom scares me a lot lol
count-di-luna replied to your post “Reblog and put in the tags something seemingly everyone in your fandom…”
this! Peridot has way better chemistry with Amethyst anyway and Lapis just needs her space
First, I don’t know if they’re “canon” but it’s very heavily implied in the show that there’s something going on between them that’s more romantic than not, for what it seems like to me. The way in which their relationship is shown isn’t in the same way as the relationships of other characters that don’t have romantic relationships, so I don’t know what to tell you.
I’ve been told about some “behind the scenes” reasons why this was, I don’t wanna delve into any of that because I care about what the story depicts in this instance, so I’m leaving all “behind the scenes” reasons the crewniverse may have aside. As for the “behind my back” part, probably, since we haven’t seen the development of their relationship kind of at all, aside from when there’s some conflict Steven needs to get in between, so if it’s happening, it’s going on behind all of our backs.
When it comes to the comparative aspects with other ships, I don’t really have much opinion on the majority of fanon SU ships, it’s not something I’ve ever been much involved in, so I can’t really say what ship is better or not.
What I wanted to focus on for my tags, what really makes me a bit uncomfortable when it comes to Lapis and the way the fandom sees her, is that a lot of the things that are criticized about her come from writing problems, which is not to diss the crewniverse because SU is fantastic and I love it, but I do feel Lapis hasn’t been handled well as of late.
I feel like her whole reaction when she left and took the barn would have been taken less harshly by fandom had it not been at the expense of a relationship that had little to no development in-show and that was with a fan favorite character that everyone loves. It wasn’t so much Lapis’s reaction and her choice of leaving what made fandom react like they did but the way in which she left Peridot, which represented a state in a relationship we never saw them arrive at because they were always off-camera.
Lapis has had too much trauma related to other people exercising choices for her for me to be comfortable with her having a relationship so soon with someone who had her as a prisoner before, someone who was Jasper’s second in command in the ship she was kept in. Which hey, I’m totally cool with redemption arcs and I feel Peridot evolved and learned maybe more than most characters on the show, I’m not saying Peridot is the same she was or that she doesn’t deserve to be trusted, she absolutely does, but making it romantic in such a short period of time and WITHOUT SHOWING IT ON SCREEN is too much believability to ask for me tbh.
I wish Lapis’s arc had centered on her recovery and her healing without having to compromise her decisions to romantic relationships. I wish we had taken more time to develop her trauma in a way that makes more sense to the plot, because I hate when people say they’re tired of her whining or they hate her for not fighting.
Lapis represents a very important part of war, she is, from the group of Gems, the one who was most affected by BOTH SIDES of the fight. She was a war prisoner and considered an enemy by BOTH the Diamonds and the Crystal Gems and, as such, was imprisoned for so long, until Steven listened to her.
She then decided to imprison herself AGAIN to save the one person who had shown her kindness, because it was the only way she felt she could. And when confronted with that, she was manipulated into thinking that it was only with someone toxic, with someone who wanted to use her at the time, how she could have any value.
Lapis deciding not to fight is a valid, important and realistic part of war. She is a victim who was once and again mistreated by EVERY SIDE of it. It’s understandable that she’d want to flee and it’s powerful that she not only came back but used her sadness and her scars as a way of facing a major enemy. She had felt worse.
She was a prisoner of war, a survivor of abuse and was banished from every place she knew. She had no home, not in Homeworld, not on Earth, and it’s understandable and valid that someone who was faced with this past would choose to not stand for people who let her down.
It is, however, understandable that she would come back and fight for Steven, because he is the character Lapis was shown to have a trusting friendship with. Steven was the one who listened, cared and healed her, he is the one who offered her a home and, most importantly, the one who, no questions asked, respected her decision to leave without pressuring her into staying to fight a war that had destroyed her. This is a friendship the show took time to show me and develop, Lapis caring for Steven like an older sister, more so than a mother figure, as most of the other gems are (there’s a parallel dissertation here between Steven’s mother figures when he has never had a present mother, but that’s another subject matter entirely). I didn’t need from Lapis more than this pure friendship, a sibling sort of bond.
So, when it comes to this friendship, the conflict of Lapis leaving and then coming back makes narrative sense. The strain of the decision and of Steven’s understanding of her leaving have implications that are easy to understand because we’ve seen the friendship develop.
When it comes to Peridot, I was lost. I didn’t understand where this strong emotional bond had formed and how, when the episodes they had together didn’t quite showcase a development aside from “they’re getting along better”. Added to that, their personalities don’t really fit in a way in which you could fill in the blanks easily, because Lapis is a complicated character that tends to be unpredictable with others, because of her long isolation.
It isn’t that a romantic relationship wouldn’t be possible or that it takes away from her character, it’s that it gives a layer on her decisions that makes her choices questionable in the audience’s standpoint, because you don’t know what’s going on between them but you’re gonna root for Peridot because she’s the easily likeable one of the two and because she’s staying to fight.
It stops being about trauma, war and fear and starts being about the betrayal of someone’s trust. It undermines the importance of a character like Lapis, imo, when the conflict of her choices is transformed into a romantic issue where clearly Peridot will be the favorite to be on the “right”, because as a viewer with nothing to lose it’s easier to understand that fighting is the “right thing to do”. It’s easy to have an opinion on war and political strife when it’s about fictional characters in a fictional world, it’s easy to say “the right thing is to be brave and fight the authority”, but within that situation, it wouldn’t be that easy.
So, basically, my problem, all shipping preferences aside, is that, for a show that is otherwise amazingly written and planned out to the t, this whole situation seems shoehorned and strained and causes fans to turn on a character whose representation of trauma, ptsd and past abuse should be something to understand more.
Again, this is not to hate on the crewniverse (past or present) at all, it’s their story to tell and I’m grateful to be able to hear it, this is just my opinion as an adult with access to the internet and nothing better to do at the time, so my opinion isn’t worth a damn. They did their best and chose to tell this story and that’s ok. I heard that some people have been rather aggressive to some of the crew for this before and I wouldn’t dream on doing that at all, so please let’s not do any of that.

Prompt #29 With Shanks
Tumblr media
anon request : Finally! Haha lol Do you write Shanks? Please say yes 🙃 Anyway, can I request prompt #29 "is that how you really wanna act towards your captain?" With an female S/O (I don't speak English fluently so I don't know if i wrote this right) who's from Shanks crew and had been flirting with him all night? But she didn't expect him to flirt back and they end up in bed... This is the first time I request sorry if I made it wrong 😅 -Girassol
Tumblr media
A/N : yes, I write for Shanks, haha. I only wrote for him like once, so I don’t know if it’s good, but thank you for requesting and I hope you enjoy! :>
prompt #29 : “is that really how you wanna act towards your Captain?”
summary : Shanks’ female significant other being a tease and flirting with Shanks all night, gets what she deserves.
-
“So, do you come here often?”
Spitting out his drink, Shanks lets out a hearty laugh at your question and another attempt at flirting, finding it both equally amusing and adorable.
Here the two of you were, sitting out up in the crow’s nest together, with some beer in front of you and the loud partying crew below you.
You two were alone, since you were his personal advisor and such, ever since you joined the crew, you two have been inseparable. Partners in crime.
“Why, yes I do.” He humors you, grinning widely as he grips his mug filled with his beer. “What about you?”
“More or less.” You shrug playfully, a soft smile on your lips as you hum.
Chuckling, Shanks just shakes his head at you as he stares up at the sky, the sun only beginning to set down onto them.
This was happening all day. You just casually flirting with Shanks every time you walked past him.
“Hey there, handsome.”
“Oh, Captain! Heaven’s looking for you. They’re missing an Angel.”
“Captain, stop! You’re blinding me with your good looks!”
And much more.
It certainly amused Shanks with every comment, him just listening to it since he was often the one initiating the flirts, so it intrigued him.
Shanks brings his mug to his lips just as he felt your fingertips gliding up his arm.
“Say, are you seeing anyone?~”
Biting your lip, you tip your fingers down his exposed skin of his forearm, looking at him flirtatiously.
Hearing your flirty tone makes him smirk as he gulps down his drink, setting his mug down on the table in front of him.
Though your expression read innocent, your eyes hid a mischievous glint in them, and it was driving Shanks over the edge for sure.
His dangerous smirk was enough to let you know you were walking on thin ice if you kept this up.
“I’m not, actually. But I do have eyes on someone, so.. as much as I hate to cut this short, it seems I should be going.”
Receiving his response, you gave a soft sigh in disappointment. You simply shrugged.
“Pity. And here I thought, I could show you a good time.”
Feigning a disappointed sigh, you turn away from the red-head and lean on your palm, bringing your glass up to your lips dejectedly, the softest pout present.
Shanks chuckles lightly as he leans towards you. “Oh? And what kind of time would that be?” He hums right into your ear, making the smallest grin slowly growing bigger on you.
Tilting your head towards him, you wink. “Would you like to find out?”
Shank’s eyes flashed dangerously for a brief second as his smirk simply widens. “I’m afraid I’m loyal to the woman I have my eyes on.”
Of course, you already knew that. After all, you were the person he had eyes on.
“Is that so? Are you sure you aren’t even the least bit curious?”
Seductively, you lean closer towards him, one hand propping your weight up and the other trailing towards his thighs, going up his legs.
Leaning close enough just to have your noses touched, he hums.
Before anything else occurred, Shanks swiftly used his one hand to switch positions, pushing you downward onto your back.
Against the floor of the crows nest, you stare up at Shanks, eyes widened at how quick and rough he moved, but you showed no submissiveness towards him. You were standing your ground, even if your cheeks were slowly flushing pink.
“Is that really how you wanna act towards your Captain?”
Biting and chewing on your lower lip, you simply opted to press your lips against his, shutting your eyes as you pull him closer towards you by gripping his shirt.
“.. so what if it is? Are you kick me off the ship?” You questioned, pulling away just a bit to look him in the eyes.
Instead of responding, Shanks simply pulls you even closer until your lips just grazed.
“No.”
A soft chuckle escaped his lips.
“I’m going to punish you.”
-
And let’s just say, you two had quite the rough night afterwards.
Tumblr media
A/N : just a little something, hope you all enjoyed! :> I’m sorry if it’s not great? 😅 like I said in my message post, I’m having a busy week but I just wanted to get this out!

Do you have any dune ocs other than that one guy you talked about? If not then please tell me more about him he seems so interesting
I kinda have others but they exist only in conjunction to the aforementioned oc as part of his spice smuggling crew, so yes and no? I'm not actually someone who regularly makes ocs for existing works, so I think it's a pretty strong testament to my love for Dune that I have a singular Dune oc at all lol. I absolutely will tell you more about him though, and I will try very hard to keep it as organized as possible lol. He and the others exist solely within a Dune canon-compliant short story I wrote once that I don’t feel like sharing in its entirety rn, so I’m just gonna summarize the beats of it along with his backstory under the cut. Let’s goooooo
His name is just The Captain (the others are The First Mate, The Youngest, and The Half-Fremen). His miserable little life is divided into two parts: pre and post Harkonnen desertion. Pre-desertion as a Harkonnen trooper his actual rank was Captain, and post he is The Captain of his own spice smuggling crew. I'm always changing my mind on what his gender/pronouns are but I'm just gonna stick with "he" for this post. He was definitely more distinctly masculine appearing pre-desertion since there are no women in the Harkonnen employ, but is extremely androgynous post-desertion and just lets people call him whatever their first assumption is cuz this guy has way bigger problems than gender presentation lol. Aside from having grumpy old man vibes, outwardly he's pretty chill and quiet, comes off as nice because he doesn't like to cause issues that would draw attention to himself. Inwardly, however, this man has woken up every morning for 50 years screaming in his head "oh god, oh fuck, oh god. Today is the day someone finds out I'm lying and kills me, I'm gonna die oh god." The thing is that he has actually never once deliberately lied about his past, just told half-truths that people ended up filling in incorrect blanks to. Like since day one of his desertion, his life is just a series of misunderstandings that ultimately spiral out of control and bite him in the ass. And backstory time: The Captain was a born solider on Geidi Prime, he's good at what he does but doesn't really have any loyalty to it, it's just what he's done his whole life and why make waves with that. As he rises in rank he ends up working more in the slave pits than as an actual deployed trooper; cutting down disobedient men in shackles is a preferable vocation to fighting other properly armed men, especially when you're as cruel as you are cowardly. A slave revolt breaks out and his entire troop is slaughtered. He does not intend to join them, and in a moment of pure, pure cowardice, strips himself of his uniform and attempts to escape before he's found by any of the now-armed slaves. He doesn't make it very far before he is found, but by a group of pleasure-slaves. He was never one to frequent the troops' pleasure house and dealt entirely with slave-gladiators in his duty. They don't recognize him, none of them know his face as someone they should hate. And on top of that he has a childhood scar from an accident that regularly gets assumed to be a whip-scar. Lucky break number one serving also as the first domino in this dude's little 50-year misunderstanding comedy of errors. He is welcomed onto a transport off-world. He bounces around for a few years as a general smuggler before winding up on Arrakis with his spice crew. He doesn't hide the fact that he ran from Geidi Prime during a slave revolt, and naturally of course people assume that means he’s an escape slave. At this point, my little short story starts: The Captain’s carryall gets caught in a sandstorm and collides with a Harkonnen vessel. Of The Captain’s 25-man crew only four including himself survive the crash. Of the Harkonnen vessel, only one trooper survives. The five of them manage to take shelter from the storm in a small cave, but theyre completely trapped there until a fellow smuggling crew can land to retrieve them. With horror, The Captain realizes that The Trooper is one who served under him in his past. Luckily, The Trooper has a serious head wound and seems to delirious to have made the same realization yet himself. The Captain moves to kill The Trooper before he gets the chance to recognize him, but is prevented by The First Mate who blames him for their being out when the storm hit. The pair of them end up in a shouting match arguing over multiple things that really aren’t important when youre trapped in a sandstorm, but everyone’s in a bad mood, tensions are high, might as well voice your grievances now. The argument is interrupted by The Trooper suddenly laughing hysterically. He’s finally remembered where he recognizes The Captain from and spills all the beans in like the worst way possible, praising The Captain for his ruthlessness and recounting bloody battle tidbits. None of the details of what he’s saying are important to the others, because The Captain’s face is enough to tell them that everything being said is completely true. He is absolutely tormented, not because he's even slightly remorseful for any of the lives he took and ruined in the Harkonnen name, but tormented by the un-asked-for and completely undeserved kindness he has been continuously shown post-diseration. To be discovered and killed by people who hate him? Expected and understandable even if he's still terrified of dying. To be discovered and killed by people who trust him? People who actually like him for some goddamn reason? To have his intentions warped and misinterpreted to the point that his discovery would be an even worse betrayal than the one he deliberately made decades ago? Too much to handle, didn't sign up for this shit, twice as terrified. As per usual pirate custom, the crew maroons him with only a lasgun charged for just one shot; they leave on the rescuing crew’s vessel. The Captain intends to shoot himself with the lasgun, but the Trooper, assuming he is about to be shot, tries to wrestle the gun from The Captain’s hands. It goes off by accident and the Trooper is killed, leaving The Captain to waste away alone in the desert. Back on the rescuing carryall, when asked what happened to their captain, the crew chooses to lie and say he went down with their vessel, allowing his past to die with him and preserving the false version of him that they knew.

"How ticklish are you?" suggested by @ljandersen
pairing: Kaidan Alenko x Kori Reese (my OC); set during ME1; 2115 words
The Normandy was once again docked at a port for resupply. Only this time it wasn't some backwater planet. This time it was a popular tourist spot established by human private investors. With a limited Alliance presence, Avalon was the perfect haven for some less than reputable people. But at the moment it was a location for the SR1 crew’s shore leave.
Shore leave that Doctor Chakwas insisted the crew needed to take. A 24 hour layover at Avalon fit the bill with little to no argument from Shepard much to Kaidan’s surprise. Of course that left 24 hours of free time for the crew to get into mischief. He had a feeling Kori might be one of those who ended up on report if she wasn't properly entertained. But she wouldn't appreciate a keeper. Maybe she'd be okay with someone who was more than friends.
There wasn't exactly a label for what they were. Their relationship wasn't something they wanted to advertise. It wasn't even something that should have occurred. Fraternization regs. His own personal rules. Reese’s tendencies to be exceedingly private because of her past. All of that was supposed to work against them. Somehow it hadn't.
After something finagling the two lieutenants had managed to sneak off to enjoy a day of shore leave without any other crew members present. Applying his habit of being thorough in his duties to researching the Avalon colony, Kaidan had discovered a little used beach some ways from the spaceport. Convincing Reece to trust him, they rented a skycar and headed to the beach. Slightly cooler temperature wise than the more popular beaches near the spaceport, it reminded him of the ones he visited near Vancouver on Earth in his youth.
Of course the first thing Reese had commented on was the temperature. How much cooler it was then at the spaceport, and he knew she hated being cold. He grinned at her as he casually took off his blue Alliance hoodie.
“Want to borrow this?” He offered nonchalantly. He'd worn it over his T-shirt having been prepared for the temperature. He suggested she take one as well, but Reese did as she wanted.
The younger Lieutenant glared at him as she snatched the hoodie from his hand and put it on. “You did this on purpose.”
“Me?” He said innocently, pointing at himself. “I suggested that you should bring one.”
“You didn't tell me why,” she accused as she pulled the too-long sleeves of the borrowed hoodie up to her elbows.
“You're a smart person. I thought you could figure it out,” Kaidan replied with a smirk as he began walking down the beach away from the skycar.
“Ass,” Reese grumbled as he stopped to glance back at her
Extending a hand behind him he said, “Don't be that way, Kori. I thought this could be …something just for us.”
“Just for us?” She echoed as she walked up to him, staring at his offered hand.
“Well yeah,” Alenko replied shyly. “I mean with everything else we've …done, I thought some time together off the ship would be nice …kind of like a date.”
“A date?” She repeated uncertainly.
Kaden nodded. “Maybe we aren't there yet but –“
“We shagged like rabbits in the back of the Mako, Kaidan,” Reese pointed out smugly.
Alenko arched an eyebrow as a satisfied grin spread across his face. “We did, didn't we?”
“Really? You are going to be smug –“
She was cut off when he took her hand and pulled her to his side. “Can we please just take a walk along this beach which reminds me at home and pretend we …could be a normal couple?”
His whiskey-colored eyes pleaded with her to indulge him this one time. He was well aware Reese thought he was a romantic at heart, a sentiment shared by Ashley. He had already gone way over the line concerning keeping things strictly professional with Reese anyhow. Walking down a remote beach acting as if they weren't on a life-or-death mission for a few hours wouldn’t do much more damage if anyone found out. At least it was more explainable than the Mako.
“I --we can do that,” Reese agreed as she slowly slid an arm around his waist.
Kaidan grinned as he mimicked her action with his arm around her shoulders. They walked in silence for a few minutes, listening to the waves gently crash against the shore. The sun shone brightly overhead as a cloud or two moved in front of it occasionally. It was comforting to just spend time with someone he cared about without any expectations. It was nice to be somewhere that reminded him of home. It was just nice to be with Reese.
“This beach reminds you of home?” The younger tech’s voice called up to him. Alenko glanced down to see grey eyes looking back at him with a curious expression.
“Well yeah. Even the temperature. Vancouver is along the coast, remember? My parents have some land in the countryside,” he explained. “We used to go whenever we could, not just in the to swim. Sometimes just to take a walk.”
“A beach is supposed to be warm,” Reese insisted.
“And how would you know?”
“Just 'cause I was a colony kid doesn't mean I've never been to a beach,” she answered indignantly. “Moirae was like Georgia. One of the reasons my parents chose it for colonization and terraforming …Georgia has beaches too.”
“That doesn't mean you've been to a beach. That's just show that you know what one is,” Kaidan observed with a teasing grin.
“Alenko –“
He kissed her quickly. “I'm teasing, Kori.”
She huffed as she said, “My grandma used to talk take us swimming during the summer. Trying to help me feel normal while learning how to cope with my biotics.”
“That's cool,” Alenko commented, using 20th century slang that both annoyed and endeared him to her more.
“Actually it was hot,” Reese said with a wink.
Kaidan chuckled as he hugged her to his side. “And that is why you hate being cold and why you have a stash of blankets in your bunk I suppose.”
“Do not mock the stash of blankets,” Reese said seriously. “They have kept me from climbing into your bunk. You're warm.”
Alenko shook his head. “I should thank the blanket stash for keeping us out of trouble then. As nice as it might be to go to sleep with you in my arms. “
“Are you getting all mushy on me, Alenko?”
“Maybe just a little. No one else is around so …”
Reese shook her head as they continued to walk down the deserted beach. “I haven't walked a beach in quite a while.”
Kaidan grinned, glad that his idea had been a good one. “Did you ever just take walks along the beach on Moirae?”
The Lieutenant regretted the question as soon as the words left his mouth. He stopped in his tracks and looked at her. “Kori, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to –“
“You probably don't know but colony kids have dances in high school. Just like you Earthborn kids do,” Reese interjected, ignoring his attempt to apologize. She went on as she gazed out at the ocean. “Granted my high school wasn't that big but we managed to still have dances. Our junior prom was supposed to be on the beach. Everyone was excited. It was going to be my first formal. I even had a dress picked out. No date of course but a few of us girls were just gonna go together in a group.
Kaidan watched as she paused, a wistful look on her face. She rarely talked about Moirae. She was more apt to talk about her time in Georgia but to be truthful she didn't often talk about her past at all. He probably knew more than anyone else on the SR-1 but even that was a smattering of whatever she let slip when her guard was down.
“The short version is that it didn't happen, and I never got to attend a formal dance,” the tech concluded with a shrug of the shoulders.
She began to walk again but was stopped by Kaidan’s hand on her arm. “You don't have to act like it isn't a big deal.”
“But that's just it. Missing a prom isn't a big deal. It was just a stupid dance.”
“Maybe but it was more to you. It was something you were looking forward to, something I think you were actually excited about,” Kaidan said as he brought her back to him. “I know the destruction of your colony took away your family and your home, but it also took away experiences that you could have had. Things you should have had. You can't get the exact experience back but maybe when this mission is over we can try to make up for that in some small way.”
“You mean arrange for me to go to prom?”
“Well no, not exactly, but definitely something requiring formal attire. A dress.”
She arched an eyebrow. “Now you just want to see me in a dress.”
“I’ve seen you in less,” he pointed out as he placed his hands on her hips.
As he absentmindedly made lazy circles with his thumbs, she huffed. “So that is where your mind is, techboy.”
“I think I’m allowed,” he replied as he noticed her beginning to fidget. Frowning he asked, “Something wrong?”
She shook her head. “Nope.”
Not convinced he stopped his ministrations and watched her fidgeting cease. An idea began to form as a wicked grin spread across his face. He lightly caressed her hips again but this time working his way up the side of her ribcage. She wiggled and began giggling.
“Alenko! Stop!”
As she backed away, he stared at hie wide eyed. “Kori, how ticklish are you?”
“That is need to know information and you, Lt. Alenko, don’t need to know,” she replied holding her hands up in front of her as a makeshift barrier.
“Oh, but I think I do need to know, Lt. Reese,” he countered as he began walking towards her with purpose.
“Aw, hell no!” she yelled as she began running from him.
He laughed as the tech began sprinting back towards the skycar. He gave pursuit, sorely tempted to use his biotics to halt her retreat. But that would be cheating, and Reese would definitely not like that. In the end he settled for catching up with her and tackling her.
She let out a shriek as they fell unceremoniously to the sandy ground. Kaidan gave a roar of laughter as he declared, “Got ‘cha!”
With Reese already struggling to escape, he immediately began to tickle her again, determined to discover just how ticklish she was. Her laughter was music to his ears as they rolled along the beach. He’d only rarely heard her giggle let alone laugh as if nothing could stop her. As she twisted and turned underneath him, he discovered to his delight she was very ticklish nearly everywhere.
The wheels in Alenko’s head began turning as he stopped tickling her. That weakness was definitely something he could exploit later. Grey eyes looked at him as tears of laughter slide down her cheeks. He leaned down and kissed her sweetly.
As she hummed her contentment Kaidan murmured against her lips. “Take shore leave with me after this mission.”
Reese pulled back just a bit as she said, “You’re serious?”
Kaidan nodded even though he was surprised as she was that he had uttered the words to begin with. She blinked and cupped his cheek. “You’re serious enough about us you’d want to see more of me after this mission…oryou just want to tickle me some more?”
Alenko grinned. “Maybe it’s both. And maybe I can find more places where you are ticklish…Ones I need to remove certain articles of clothing to discover…”
“Are you coming onto me, Alenko?”
Kaidan smirked. “I thought I was already on you, Reese.”
The tech rolled her eyes as he leaned down and kissed her again. “Will you?”
Reese made an amused sound before asking, “If I say yes, are you going to stop kissing me?”
“No.”
“Then yes.”
Kaidan grinned as he kept his word and continued kissing the Lt. Happy to have something to look forward to and happy that thing involved Reese. Happy to know she looked forward to it as well. As the waves crashed around them, he was once again reminded of home and how Kori now felt like that to him. And that he would never regret it. Ever.

Addressing ADHD Meds With the Main Crew
Warning: As a non-American, a lot of assumptions are made. Mainly about the healthcare. Also, please correct me if I get anything wrong about anything on this post. This post was generated via plot bunny.
Percy: His mother would know that demigods have ADHD from the start (read: Poseidon told her), but knowing the US healthcare system and stigma against mental health, he might not even have access to meds anyway and might not even be officially diagnosed.
Annabeth: Her family probably knew nothing about it since Athena just dumped her kid on the father and called it a day. She ran away at age 7 and was mostly raised at CHB - she wouldn't have access to meds at CHB (she claimed it makes one unwary against monsters in TLT, where we can assume she doesn't believe in ADHD meds being helpful after how she'd lived her life). And her family might not even know - she could just be their “problem child” and they might not even know why.
Jason: C'mon, he was practically raised at CJ, where all the other kids are like him (legacies could have ADHD too since it is a hereditary disorder). He would have dealt with it the same way most CJ kids did. And since CJ presumably does have some sort of healthcare, if he had meds, they would be provided for, and if he didn't take meds… well, can't really blame him for anything.
Piper: I personally headcanon she has an official diagnosis and takes meds, but didn't during quests and stuff after learning she's a demigod. Maybe she forgot.
Leo: Might not be officially diagnosed. Not sure if he knows about meds or not. I really don't know. Someone had the headcanon he was forced to take meds when being fostered at some point but hated it, but I'm not entirely sure about my opinions on this headcanon.
Frank: He doesn't even have ADHD, so he doesn't have to deal with this in the first place. Go figure.
Hazel: Definitely did not have access to meds in her past life (well, duh), and after her resurrection, she also lived at CJ, and so presumably dealt with it the same way Jason did.
Nico: After everything he's had to deal with, meds are probably the least important thing on his mind, if he even has a concept about it. He's only been in the “present” world four months, and then the troubles start catching up with him like 🎶GAS GAS GAS🎶 for like nearly the next 3 years and it's not even “I don't take meds”, it's straight-up “wtf are meds”.
Reyna: Her father wasn't really… the best dad (understatement!) and might not even be diagnosed. During her time on Circe's Island, it can be assumed that she was just treated normally thrre since the place is run by someone with mythological origin and can deal with this stuff, and then her time spent at CJ would mean she treated her ADHD with whatever way they did at CJ.
General headcanon: The most often forgotten item to take on quests in both camps are ADHD meds. This explains a lot of the stupid stunts these bozos pull during these books.
Feel free to disagree with me on any of these points. This post has also been reposted on AO3 in A Personal Analysis of the Riordanverse, Chapter 7.

Helloooo, I want to try this too, it's sounds very interesting.
I hope you don't mind me being anon.
Could you write me a matchup for a vision, a male partner and a best friend and, only if you're in the mood, a enemy?
WARNUNG: It's a long text. I'm sorry ;.;
Most people are telling me "I'm too good for this world." because I'm always friendly, I try to help the best I can, doing my duties without complaining and never really fight with someone.
But actually, I'm just someone who likes to analyze people and react accordingly to they behavior. I want to understand people and I think the easiest way is to watch them. I'm very calm with a lot of patience and like to give advices. That's why people often come to me if they have something on they minds. I'm getting kinda uneasy if there is something I can't figure out. So, I like when people give me detailed explanation or description about something they want or need.
And even if people think I'm so friendly and kind, what I am, don't get me wrong, I love my peace and alone time. I'm way more productive if I'm on my own, because I can focus more and it's quiet. Also, I'm not the type of person who likes to be surrounded by many people. Mostly because I'm not so good at keeping a conversation alive, but I try. I like being around people I'm close to.
The friends and family I have are everything to me. I hold them dear and I always be there for them and try to keep them away from any harm. If they would betray me (what some really did) I would be completely heartbroken. I'm always scared that my loved ones will leave me. It's my biggest fear.
For a relationship, I think the person need a lot of patience with me because, like I said, I like to be alone. I'm also not a very affectionate lover, because I don't have many experiences. I'm fine with all those holding hands, cuddles, kisses and all but I would rarely be the one who make the first moves. If my lover is upset about it, I would trying to be more affectionate for the love of my partner to make him happier. I just want him to be happy.
But there is one thing I absolutely adore. Lying down, holding each other and just enjoying the atmosphere. No words (maybe a few) just cuddling and listen to each others heartbeat.
Some more informations if they're necessarily:
Things I like: dogs, drawing and painting, reading, warm weather with a soft breeze (I love this), respectful and understanding people, nighttime (including stargazing), meaningful conversations
Things I don't like: heat, arrogance, loud noises, to be bossing around, uncertainty, crowds
I'm sorry, it truly is pretty long. I hope you don't mind.
I hope everything I wrote makes sense to you. Thanks for doing this, I'm looking forward to read it :D
Have a nice day and stay healthy!
(chin up if your day was not so pleasant❤️)
Hey! I don't mind people being Anon at all! I don't know if you will find it funny or scary but I always think people “too good for this world” will die early. Eh anyways here are your results!
You received... A Hydro vision! Generosity, devotion to people, always helping others, and mastery are the main characteristics of the Hydro vision. • Last time I forgot the mastery thing and reading the analyzing part made me remember that it was also a characteristic of the Hydro vision. It seems that you are a great analyzer, you have your own way of analyzing people and you seem to do it accurately. • I feel that if you want to have clear indications on what you need to do for someone it's not only to greatly fulfill the task (which would mostly look like a Geo trait) but it's to satisfy the person the most. • You have a strong bond with people. I don't know if that's the case but I wouldn't be surprised if every time you have to make a decision or you think about something important, you will first think about people you love, like if it would hurt them if it would be more convenient for them or what would they think about it. Your partner would be... Diluc! A silent but soothing relationship. Two icons of Mondstadt. • The first time he heard your voice was at Angel's Share where you were talking with Eula. The bar wasn't crowded so you were feeling comfortable enough to talk properly with her. You were debating about Kaeya. You didn't really know him but you still shared the feelings you had about him with her. Because of Eula's presence, the few present people at the bar became a bit more silent, letting Diluc hear better of what you were saying. “Kaeya? Hmm... I don't really know him but I feel something off... The few times I've seen him he seemed quite dramatic. But the kind of drama attitude you use to hide weakness.” • In addition to your calm voice, he also liked your perception. He wanted to know more about you. As you were about to pay with Eula at the counter, Diluc spoke: “I heard you talking about Kaeya earlier. You seem to have good intuition.” He paused and crossed his arms, looking elsewhere. “You can only trust half of what he says... At best.” • Sometimes you went back to Angel's Share (not purposefully but most of the time it was during his shift) to buy a bottle of a drink to your liking, and little by little you began to appreciate each other pretty well. • At the beginning of your relationship, both of you would be clumsy because of your lack of experience but slowly, you would learn together. After being more confident, you'd both engage things equally. Diluc would be very romantic with you. • You share a common thing with Diluc: serving Mondstadt. You during the day, helping people, friends or friends of friends with their tasks or problems and Diluc at night, preventing the evil to reach the city. • Even though his facade can show a grumpy man, you can see what's really inside and that's what you love. • You would share a lot of relaxing moments privately. Both of you like a calm atmosphere, perfect to share a great moment together. • You two are popular in Mondstadt. Diluc already has his reputation but you, you are loved because of your pure kindness towards everyone. You won't spend a lot of time together publicly but when you do, people feel like seeing celebrities in front of their eyes. Your friend would be... Eula! “How dare they befriend me while being so popular? They will just bring more attention to me and my plans of vengeance! For this, they must pay!” • You get along very well with everyone in Mondstadt (except one person that we'll mention later) but your best friend remains Eula. • You are very close and actually, there are no specific reasons why you get along well but you do! • Both of you talk freely and most of your discussions are interesting. • When you hang out, you always go somewhere to eventually improvise things. • She likes the fact that anything you'll engage you into, you'll do it with finesse and without a complaint. Your enemy would be... Kaeya! And it's not even Diluc's fault • You find him suspicious and you know for sure that you will never truly know why. • He considers you like a sort of threat so he will be especially careful
around you. He knows how to lie but he would get better at it to cover himself even more. Which is a clumsy move from him because it will make him even more suspicious to you. • You try to avoid his case with Diluc for fear of getting him annoyed. • Deep down, there is no hate between you two. Kaeya knows you're perceptive and it just makes him insecure while you just wonder what he is hiding, by innocent curiosity. Worth to mention (but you mentioned you didn't like uncertainty plus, this is a long list, so you can ignore it if you want) : • You would be a great ally for Beidou but I think you would refuse to be a part of her crew because of the inconvenient lifestyle. • You, Xingqiu, and Chongyun would form a great trio! It would be mainly led by Chongyun who's heading out for an exorcising, Xingqiu willing to join him and by the way, inviting you. You would accept because all the moments spent with them are wholesome and also because you would be curious about ghosts, even if at first you thought you'd be more of a bother than anything else. You'd be a great ally for Chongyun too: he needs calm and you are, both of you don't like heat and you could help him with anything, it would always be easy and not tiring tasks. • Xingqiu finds you honorable. • You are a great support for Ganyu. • Jean respects you a lot, she could even admire you. • You share similar values with Keqing so you get along well too. You can count on each other and you would even be invited to a shopping session with common friends. • There could be interesting things between you and Xiao because he would truly appreciate you. A common situation would be you going to Wangshu Inn because you'd need a place to sleep for a night or two and during your stay, you would meet Xiao randomly. You would both say hi, pleased to see each other, Xiao's face would relax by seeing you. But there's nothing more. If this happened in a universe where there is a reincarnation process, I'd say that you were together in a past life, only death has managed to separate you, and now, you meet again but live your lives respectively. I hope it suits you and I also hope you don't mind Diluc's part being very long (and the worth mentioning too) and actually my answer being longer than your description eventually haha I almost did nothing yesterday so I'm gonna catch up today. But before, I have to do my dailies

Tumblr media
Hello! I hope it would be alright, I re-wrote because I wasn't really pleased with my first attempt!
Thanks for the ask, anon!
Tumblr media
Sabo :
• Sabo has always been concerned by justice and equality, since he's coming from a noble family and has always hated their privileges
• He knows that you're not really talkative abour your past, but usually, he doesn't push you on the subject and respects your silence
• But being a member of the Revolutionary Army brings many informations to Sabo, so one day, he hears about the dictatorship of a certain country
• While he offers Dragon to have a quick check there and see what's going on, Sabo can't unnoticed your little flinch and this worried expression on your face
• He knows you enough to understand that you're perhaps related to this country, but Sabo wants to protect your feelings, so he accepts your silence vow for the moment and doesn't try to make you speak
• However, Sabo investigates, secretely, until he understands that not only you're from that country, but it has been stolen from your family, and you live in shame since when
• It tears his heart apart, but Sabo keeps everything secret, leaving the headquarter of the Revolutionary Army one night, determined to end your suffering by his own hands, perhaps helped by a few close members he considers trustworthy
• You don't know where's Sabo is gone and at the first it worries you deeply, but after a few days away, you hear by the news that your country is finally free from the dictator, the truth about your family spreaded all around the world
• You cry loudly, heavily, unable to find a way to thanks him, desperetaly hoping that he will be back soon because you crave his presence now
• The day Sabo returns, you rush into his arms, making him fall on the ground as you can't let him go, his soft lips pressing a long and tender kiss on your hair, his hands holding your waist tightly ; no need to talk, you already know everything by his gestures
Tumblr media
Marco :
• Marco has sailed all around the world, so he knows a lots of places, especially the ones which gives him the jitters
• Your country is on the list for many years, and Marco regularly watches the news and inquires about the evolutions of the war there
• It's a part of his job after all, Marco is Whitebeard's first mate, and the commander of his first division, so he needs to be prepared to act if his pops feels like they should
• One day, as he reads the news, he finds out that the situation in your country is critical, and he decides to have a word with Whitebeard, but also the entire crew, by a meeting on the deck, since they would decide together what should they do
• Marco feels that you are tensed, but also shocked, and it twists his heart to feel that there's something wrong, so he gently circles your waist and brings you closer to his chest
• Marco needs to know ; he doesn't want to do something which would hurt you, so softly, but surely, he makes you talk about your past, because he feels that there's something linked to this particular country and he wants to help you, but not hurt you
• As you tell him everything, Marco keeps you close, fondling your back, knowing that it hurts a lot to let everything gets out of your chest, his soft smile reassuring you while you open-up
• He promises you that Whitebeard will handle the situation by putting his flag in your island, protecting it from any other crazy man, as your family will be back on the throne, and perhaps even you, if you want it
• But of course you don't, so you snuggle against his chest and ask him to help you, but you make him promise that he won't ever order you to stay there, because despite your past, Marco is the one you want to escort around the world
Tumblr media
Sanji :
• Sanji is particularly touched by unfair situations, since he has a terrible childhood, where justice wasn't truly present back then
• He deeply hates those men or women who claim other people's properties, trampling on their dreams and their lives without any shame
• Sanji, though, doesn't really look at the newspapers in general, more focus on his chief role onboard, or being hypnotized by your every day activities ; it's just an usual silent rules on the Sunny, except a few members and you, they basically don't really care
• Of course, when you read the news and learn about the situation in your country, and despite your best efforts to hide it, Sanji knows you too well
• Even if you try your best to smile, or to laugh, everything sounds awfully wrong, and there's something darker in the way you look at things, sometimes when you have your head in the clouds, as everyone goes about their business aboard
• He notices your lack of appetite, and your desperate attempts to make him feel that everything is fine, and it gets under his skin, not because he's mad at you, but because he hates being unable to help you
• When you're alone in your room, Sanji decides to drop by, bringing some tea and your favorites pastries, but it's only an excuse to come to see you and to squeeze the facts out of you
• He could sound severe at first, almost flustered, but Sanji is just worried about you, and he needs to understand how he can help you
• He's stubborn enough to finally make you talk, while you need his physical presence, snuggling against his chest while he cuddles you in your bed, your face hidden in the crock of his neck
• Lazily fondling your back, Sanji listens to your plea, his heart pumping loudly inside his chest, understanding how much you suffer, and how he needs to act now
• "Oï, Name-san..." he whispers against your hair, with a deep and reassuring voice. "Did you forget we sail with the next Pirate King? Let's go find him... Luffy and I, we will save your country, my princess."

MTMTE Swerve X reader {how to be failure 101} chapter 3. Grew up
Tumblr media
A human? Swerve couldn't be more excited. Since the moment Rodimus mentioned a human, he couldn't concentrate on what was being said to him. Something about a party, that's what he did hear.
He knew all those things about humans, all those shows will finally pay off. He and the human would get along just fine, if they missed earth, they could go to him to get an earth feeling.
Or not. They could also hate Swerve for assuming he knew everything while actually he was just an amateur. Oooh, how Swerve wished you'd like him.
Because Swerve was one of the only ones knowing about the human, almost everyone got to know the secret soon enough. He just wouldn't stop talking about it. Some even asked him about earth stuff so they could could get bigger chances at being your friend. Offcourse that made Swerve more insecure because the more the others knew, the less of a chance he had with you.
After a while, the bar was ready with a big text.
'Welcome to the Lost Light' it said.
It was almost time for Ultra Magnus to come in with the human. Normally Rodimus would do it, but Magnus didn't trust him with it. Instead, Rodimus waited at the bar, preparing his speech and when he was gonna say 'til all are one'.
Meanwhile, you were still at Rung's office, getting some motivation.
"I really hope this won't cause any problems..." You said.
"Everyone will like you, I promise. Having a human on board will make our journey more exiting."
You missed earth. You missed your friends, the shops, internet. Gosh, you missed the internet. Offcourse, Rung noticed.
"Hey," He began. "If you ever miss home, I advise you to talk with a friend of mine. His name is Swerve, he's a barkeeper and knows anything about earth."
"Thanks Rung," you answered.
Rung smiled at you, happy that at least someone says his name right.
"I advise you to come visit me at least one a week (y/n), being so far from your planet and society can have a huge impact, i really hope to see you more," he said softly.
Just as Ultra Magnus came in, you gave out an answer, "okay."
"(Y/n), it's time to go." Stated Magnus.
You nodded, and hopped down from Rung's table, walking a fast as you could behind Ultra Magnus.
You panted a "How far is it?" Out.
In which he answered, "Not so much, you'll manage."
When you arrived at the door, you had to climb on Ultra Magnus's hand, so he could hide you using his other hand. Rodimus persisted that you should be a surprise reveal, and who was he to ignore orders.
The doors opened, all eyes were fixated on Ultra Magnus, Rodimus jumped up from his seat and stood on a table to get all the attention. Swerve's bar was flooding, and only most knew about your existence.
Still, all this was making Swerve anxious. He shifted his balance from one pede to another, and twirled his thumbs around eachother. His face couldn't decide between smiling like a goof or staying serious.
Rodimus fake coughed, "Everyone, listen. Today is a special and oussem day. Because yesterday, we have found not one, but TWO humans on an attacked space ship." He poused, seeing if all the attention was on him.
"One is heavily injured and might die, but we have things under control. The other one, is totally fine, and is now officially part of our crew. Sadly, all the rest of their crew perished on their ship."
Whispers spread around the bar.
"They are very far from home, and have no way of going back. Please, have a bit of perspective and welcome them as an equal. Until all are one!"
"Without further ado," added Ultra Magnus, "we now present you (y/n) (l/n), the human that is perfectly fine."
He opened his hands, and handed you to Rodimus. He put out his hands so you could stand on them and be seen by everyone.
You looked so nervous and cute, Swerve thought he was dreaming. Finally he could meet a human  maybe even befriend them if he were lucky. He was now biting on one of his fingers to keep him from rambling and interrupting.
"Uh..." You spoke.
"Hello everyone, since you already know my name I'll just skip that part... I am really grateful to be able to live here and have a place to stay."
You tried reassuring yourself that everything is fine, when done, you continued.
"I hope we all get along and I'm excited to even be friends with the one who want. I am still a bit in shock, but when I'll get better I am happy to answer any questions asked." You smiled.
When done, Rodimus again shouted, "Til all are one!"
That was the que that the speech was over, and so everyone started talking and trying to ask questions.
Drift tried keeping everyone calm, while Ultra Magnus pushed people away that were getting too close. Rodimus on the other hand, held you up hight so nobody could snatch you away.
He whole place was a chaos, the party had not even begun and Swerve was ordered to close the bar to get some peace.
Only some people were allowed to stay behind, and you got introduced to some others.
"So," you began, "You are Chromedome, you're Rewind, you're Brainstorm, Swerve, Skids, Whirl, Cyclonus, and Tailgate. Damn that's a lot to remember."
"There's a lot more that you'll meet over the time," reminded Skids.
"Who let Whirl stay here again?" Asked Brainstorm.
Whirl his attention switched from you towards Brainstorm. "You wanna fragging go?! Cuz i will mess you up real good!"
Magnus stood up and quickly grabbed a hold on Whirl to set him down, then he explained to Brainstorm that letting Whirl stay was the only way to calm him down. Brainstorm wanted to talk some sense into them, but your chuckle interrupted him, all eyes were on you now.
"Sorry, sorry," you laughed.
Oh how lovely your laugh sounded to Swerve, humans were truely amazing.
"Say (y/n), how's recharging in the same room as Rodimus?" Started Tailgate.
"Ah, it's..." You looked over at Rodimus, still pulling on your sentence. Rodimus was practically sitting on the verge of his chair.
"Great. It's great."
Rodimus his grin got bigger, seems like his ego was getting bigger. While Ultra Magnus shook his head, Tailgate gave out a chuckle.
Suddenly, Cyclonus decided to make his presence clear, "If you don't mind me asking (y/n), how did your life look like on earth?"
Your smile faltered. Since you got here, you never had a chance to look back at your life before the launch into space. Nor on the first ship with your crew had you had the chance to do that. Everyone around you was always a distraction.
Cyclonus seemed to notice your change of attitude. "If it's too personal you don't have to answer. It's okay if you-"
"It's fine. I'm fine. I just didn't get  chance to think about it too much."
Everyone listened carefully.
"I.. my life on earth," you started, "Wasn't particularly bad, but also not perfect. I lived on my own in a small apartment, too busy with the internet too find friends, and little on money."
"But I've made it work. I figured things out to find the money I need. And so, here I am." You laughed.
"You came here for money?" Asked Brainstorm, getting a nudge from Chromedome. Glares were shared between both.
"No no, not here specifically. More like send into space with a new gadget."
"You weren't sure you were gonna make it and you took the chance? Not only you but 4 other people too." Asked Rewind.
"They needed one other volunteer."
Whirl butted in, "You just went for a suicide mission for money! That's oussem!"
He got a smack from Ultra Magnus. Then he tried fighting against him but was threatened to leave the room if he didn't behave. Unwilling to leave a chance with a human, he remained... Something like calm.
Deciding to brighten up the mood a bit, you started talking again, "Hey, if it weren't for that, I wouldn't be here now meeting you guys!"
It worked, and it was totally calm again. Until Chromedome spoke again.
"Hey Swerve has been uncharacteristically silent this whole time."
The others decided to join in.
Skids nudged Swerve, "Yeah pal, you've been quiet this whole time. Everything alright?"
"Yeah everything okay there?"
Swerve, who was leaning his head on his hands, put them on his lap, a nervous laugh escaping him.
"Y.. yeah guys. I'm... I'm fine. Just observing. I've never seen a human before, I mean I have but only on screen, never in real life. It's different you know, I mean you're not different, the experience is just different. I'm sorry I'm rambling again aren't I?"
"Good luck with him fleshy, he can talk your ears off asking questions. Won't even give you a chance to answer," said Whirl.
And as fast as Swerve's mood went down, it came up again when you spoke, "I'll be fine, it just means he's excited. That means a lot to me."
You were so nice!! The poor guy couldn't believe what he was seeing! Well... What he was hearing, but that doesn't matter. He was happy.
Suddenly something inside you started to- not hurt but- it was uncomfortable. Not unbearable, easily ignored.
But physical.
It didn't worry you, you've felt plenty of sudden pain in your chest for no reason in the past. Enough to determine that it wasn't anything, say, dangerous.
"Well it's getting rather late. Not like that's bad or anything, since the plan was to just party. But there's no party,"  said Skids.
Chromedome agreed. You could see how he nodded while looking a Rewind sincerely. "It's best me and Rewind go recharge then, its always good to get some extra sleep."
He took Rewind's hand, and they stood up, taking their leave. "Goodbye (y/n), it was nice meeting you!" Waved Rewind.
Slowly, everyone started to leave too. Rodimus left you behind, since you were having a conversation with Swerve.
And then you were left alone with Swerve. After a while he seemed to notice how you yawned, signaling that you were getting sleepy.
"Okay I think that's enough for today. Do you know where Rodimus's hab-suite is?" He asked.
You shook your head no, because how are you supposed to know where someone else's room is in just one day, and don't even get me started on how big this ship is.
"Do you want me to... Bring you there?" Swerve asked unsure.
He hoped you would say yes. This way you could talk more, get to know eachother. He'll get to know more about you. So when you nodded, he practically jumped from his seat and picked you up.
He was so excited, he forgot to slow down to have the chance to talk with you, and ran immediately towards your and Rodimus's hab-suite. Suddenly realising that he messed up his chance.
"So uh... Will you come to my bar tomorrow? Not that you have to offcourse, it would be just nice to see you again. N-not in a weird way," He asked.
"I'll do my best to come over." You smiled.
Swerve smiled back and slowly put you down on the ground so you could ender your shared room with Rodimus. With one final wave, he left.
And you went to sleep.
