Supergirl doesn’t huff. She doesn’t. She’s National City’s superhero, beloved and adorned. Has captivated the hearts of many, saving it tragedy after tragedy. Supergirl is indestructible, bullets bounce off of her, laser beams shoot out from her eyes. Her enemies tremble at the sight of her and yet here is she, huffing like a petulant child withheld her favorite candy all because Lena Luthor keeps ignoring her.
In Lena’s defense, she’s not ignoring ignoring her but she’s also like not giving her the time of day.
While all of National City’s — some would even argue including Metropolis, eyes are on her she can’t seem to capture a specific pair of exquisite emerald hues that belonged to a certain L-Corp CEO.
It doesn’t matter that she’s saved said tech genius multiple times now (not that she loves to dwell on the fact of just how many times she had to save her) but Supergirl always comes to her rescue. Always. Even more times than the media tabloids can count. So much so that there are rumors spreading, mostly from magazines wanting clickbait headlines. Headlines like how the resident superhero has been spotted carrying a certain CEO to safety way too many times.
People talk, tweet, whisper. Who wouldn’t? A Luthor and Super working together is a headline worthy to keep people talking. But no matter how hard Supergirl tries, nothing seems to be working. She can't catch her attention. At least not the kind of attention she secretly hopes to get out from her.
The CEO thanks Supergirl, as she always does. So polite yet begrudgingly reserved.
Supergirl earnestly tries to make sure to be her knight and shining amour and if from time to time she makes a show or flare about it, that’s her business. None of this garner any huge reaction from Lena though.
So, it makes her huff because she’s Supergirl. Although she would never admit it out loud, she does get a little thrill when people watch her in awe. She tries to hide the proud smirk when she successfully blows a fire with one breath. She didn't even break a sweat.
If only Lena would look at her the same way.
But, the L-Corp CEO would simply give her a grateful smile and a practiced “thank you” and she’s off— goes on with her day as if she wasn’t just inches away from death.
Lena doesn’t bat an eye when the Kryptonin does her heroic stunts which some would argue is a bit over the top for someone who isn’t even of acquaintance to the CEO.
Supergirl’s touches are so soft, reverent in such way as she rushes towards Lena’s safety like a scene straight out from a comic. This makes Sam, Lena’s friend and arguably only friend she allows to judge her to n extend—  raise a few eyebrows.
So, the National City’s superhero pouts.
Pouting like a six-year told being told to go to bed earlier than she would have wanted. This inevitably pushes her find ways to impress the green-eyed CEO who watches her with the most blank expression.
She’d even once sent her a wink when she punches a particular large alien straight to oblivion while staring directly at the CEO. Lena's reaction? Nothing. Didn't even crack a smile. She seemed almost unimpressed. The only thing she receives is a smack in the head from Alex telling her to “stop being inappropriate while wearing the suit”.
Thankfully, Kara doesn’t have pout for long because while Lena barely gives Supergirl the time of day, she gets a completely 180 when she’s Kara Danvers.
For some reason, Lena smiles wider - brighter whenever she’s around the shy, fidgety, clumsy reporter. A CATCO reporter that Lena seems to be head over heels with.
Lena doesn’t even shy away showing how much she enjoys Kara’s company. It should embarrass Kara how much Lena unabashedly favors her in more ways than one but she’d be lying if she doesn’t admit how much she loves spending time with the her. The undivided attention is just a cherry on top.
While Lena barely makes conversation with the resident superhero, she has lunch dates with Kara. Movie dates. She filled her office with flowers as a thank you for the article she published describing about the new acquisition and owner of Luthor Corp now turned L-Corp even though Kara shyly explained that she was simply doing her job, all while the Kyrptonin simply gets a “that’s lucky” for saving her from almost plummeting to her death.
Kara doesn’t miss the slight change of expression on Lena’s face when the Supergirl nervously explained how she found out Lena was in danger.
Was that jealousy? That’s ridiculous! Why would Lena even care that Kara and Supergirl are friends?
But Kara, oblivious Kara only seem to see herself worthy of Lena Luthor when Kara is her alter ego. She feels more confident when she’s Supergirl than she is as Kara. She’s not really sure why. Probably because she feels she has more to offer compared to her reporter persona. Kara is just so…Kara. Simple. Flimsy. Boring.
Lena doesn’t deserve simple. How could someone be as amazing as Lena Luthor possibly find shy, nervous, boring reporter Kara Danvers interesting? She’s just being kind. That’s just how Lena is. Even though Lena literally bought a million-dollar company she knew absolutely nothing about all for Kara. An investment that left Sam completely speechless and Jess losing sleep for a week.
Kara convinces herself that Lena is just a good person and that’s one of the many things she loves about her best friend.
But it continues, and Lena falls for Kara even more. She falls for her perfect smiles the way her face lights up with each new random fact her brain comes up with, her silly jokes that Alex points out are not even that funny but Lena laughs the loudest if only to bring another smile on Kara’s face, their genuine conversations that has Lena opening parts of herself that she has never told anyone maybe other than Sam, their movie nights and super platonic cuddling.
This makes Kara as Supergirl bolder. She becomes confident in expressing how she feels for Lena while she wears a cape. Lena isn’t the only one falling. So is Kara. Hard.
She falls for Lena’s genuine kindness; how smart Lena is and yet somehow, it’s like she doesn’t know how amazing she is. She falls for the CEO even when she’s wearing the suit that the lines between her and her superhero alter ego almost blurs. Almost.
So, she openly flirts without shame. For someone who’s supposed to be professional in her line of duty, she seems to make it a hobby to send a overtly flirty smile or wink towards the CEO. Supergirl lifts 10-ton trucks in front of Lena, intentionally flexing her biceps basically just to show off. To get the slightest reaction out of Lena but all she gets is a tight lip smile before Lena shoots Kara a text to have lunch.
And while Lena spends more time publicly with Kara, they barely get swarmed with paparazzi. I mean, who would find Lena having lunch with an unknown reporter interesting.? That’s not news worthy.
It’s not even gossip worthy.
But as soon as she’s standing close with Supergirl, their photos are front and center of every magazine cover.
It becomes a headline in a span of minutes, twitter loses their mind. They earn a little fan club even and Lena tries her best to ignore it.
Really, she does but it bothers her a little. Not for the reasons people might think. She finds every headline of her and Supergirl “dating” irritating if not annoying because that’s not exactly the blonde she wants her name to be associated with.
Sure, she and Kara are getting closer - Lena can feel it. A connection more than friends tethering their bond, an unspoken knowledge neither one of them brave enough to admit. Yet.
She ponders. Hopefully.
The nonstop rumors about her and Supergirl are starting to get on her nerves since last thing she wants is for Kara to get the wrong impression.
Lena considers what she and Kara have fragile. Delicate. Like the slightest turmoil would send it crashing. She can’t have that. Not if she can help it. She won’t allow rumors about her and a hero with an awful god complex ruin it.
She worries what Kara thinks of her connection with Supergirl because there isn’t. It’s purely transactional. Business at best. They’re barely even friends.
She’s given the superhero the coldest shoulder she can whenever they’re in close proximity. It doesn’t help however that the superhero seems to enjoy being close to her.
Hovering almost. It infuriates her even more.
So, she tries to hide it. It’s not the alien’s fault Lena has fallen for the reporter. It’s not Supergirl’s fault she has issues and is overprotective of her relationship with Kara.
Lena isn’t a fan however of the fact that Supergirl somehow is never shy to leave a comment of what she thinks about Lena. While Lena doubles her effort to make sure she doesn’t mention Supergirl in any of her interviews unless necessary, Supergirl is the complete opposite.
She talks about Lena. A lot. Her projects, her advocacy (How did she even have the time to remember that? Lena’s only mentioned it once) and what she does for the community. It’s so hard to hate the superhero when she’s nothing but nice and supportive towards the scientist.
Almost like unwavering and undying devotion which to her is a little dramatic since she doesn’t even think highly of herself at times.
Lena thinks, “Thanks but like, can you just shut up about me for one second?!”
Apparently, Supergirl does and she praises Lena every chance she gets, every time a microphone is shoved towards her asking what she thinks of the L-Corp CEO.
Lena knows the media is doing it on purpose too and it’s fueling whatever rumors that are going on about them. And while she appreciates Superhero’s opinions and generous words, there is only one opinion that she really cares about.
She was mortified when she saw Kara staring at a photo of her with Supergirl, arms wrapped protective around her in one of the magazines on her desk (she’s sure Sam did it on purpose, she doesn’t remember ever getting a copy for herself), Lena immediately snatches it out from Kara’s hands, shoves it inside her drawer and started rambling defensively preparing for a full-blown explanation to whatever possible questions were running through the reporter’s mind. However, Kara barely said a word.
Even as Kara stays silent, Lena still feels as though she needs to explain herself. She tells Kara nothing is going on, and she doesn’t see Supergirl that way at all. She shouldn’t be defensive when Kara has not even made as much fuss about it but she can’t help it. Sweet, nice, understanding Kara Danvers just smiles and says “I don’t know. You two look good together”.
Now it’s Lena that freezes. She stands there, gob smacked and absolutely lost because what was that supposed to mean?
Does it bother her that Kara almost seemed okay with it? Does Kara think something is actually going on or she doesn’t think much of it? Did Lena expect a little bit jealousy? That’s insane and frankly quiet immature for her to hope to get a rise out of Kara. But Kara simply shrugged and started devouring their shared lunch.
It’s fine. Lena’s fine. She doesn’t care that Kara doesn’t care. This is good. This should be good. It doesn’t bother her at all. Or so she tells herself. Until it does.
Lena tried to casually prob the topic again. Tries her best to not sound too desperate. She thinks of the easiest way to brooch the topic without being conspicuous. With perfect timing, the TV flashes an image and it showed a picture of Supergirl clutching on Lena protectively from a blast, another poor attempt on her life.
Whether it’s because of Supergirl’s overprotectiveness or just her natural aura which was how the photo was taken, it came out beautiful. Stunning. Almost breath taking that you would think it was staged.
On top of that it’s also intimate. The way the superhero is holding her. Lena barely remembers being held by the super. She was too busy trying to not have a panic attack after just seconds away from an exploding bomb.
Lena held her breathe. Any minute now.
Lena had been glancing at Kara’s direction since the news started, waiting. The news anchor mentioned what everyone else was already thinking. How sweet they both look, that somehow, they manage to turn what supposedly should have been an image that would portray fear and anxiousness into something almost heartwarming. She waits, and waits until she breaks the silence herself.
“I can’t believe people actually assume I’m dating Supergirl.” Lena scoffs, forces a laugh as tries to be casual, as if her heart isn’t about to beat out of her chest wondering what Kara might be thinking.
“I wouldn’t blame them. You two make a great pair.”
Before Lena could even respond, Kara adds, “I mean, you and Supergirl? It’s Supergirl, Lena. Everyone wants her. Half of National City probably has a crush on her. I wouldn’t be surprised if you did.” Kara finishes off, with a fond roll in her eyes as if to tell her it’s not a big deal. That it’s normal.  She takes the remote out from Lena’s hands while she uses the other to shove popcorn in her mouth. Lena swears she could almost see a smirk forming Kara’s lips. As if she was smug about something.
But it wouldn’t make any sense. Also, why was Kara so okay with it? And why was Lena so annoyed that it didn’t bother Kara? They’ve been going out on dates but nothing about it were friendly. At least not to Lena. Was she reading things wrong? She knows she’s not.
Lena’s too smart to be reading into things. She has three PHDs for crying out loud. She can explain quantum physics in her sleep but this? Lena has never been so sure and so confused about something in her life.
It’s possible to assume what she has with Kara is simply friendship but it’s hard to deny that there’s something more. She feels it. In the way she lights up when Kara is around, when a single text from the reporter brightens up even her darkest days.Good morning and Good Night shouldn’t be causing butterflies to fly rampant in your stomach or make your chest ache with so much joy. But it does. It does for Kara.
“Not me though,” Lena finally says after finding her voice. She looks away, afraid that blue eyes can see beyond the facade she’s trying to keep up. “I don’t… I don’t see her that way.”
Kara pauses mid-way from ingulfing her popcorn. Lips purse as if she’s thinking hard about something. “Really?” Kara doesn’t even hide the surprise in her voice as she slowly turns to face Lena, popcorn temporarily forgotten. “Why not?” Why was Kara whining about this? Lena should be whining, not her.
“What do you mean, ‘Why not?’”
“I mean.. Why don’t you.. But she’s so.. — it’s Supergirl, Lena! She’s like the strongest woman ever! She’s a superhero and she’s so..” Kara blushes, as if trying to find the right words but also somehow struggling to let them out at the same time. This confuses Lena even more.
“She should totally be your type! She’s like everyone’s type!” Kara throws her hands trying to make a point.
Lena just stares at her. Unimpressed. Scrunching her nose, she turns her attention back to the screen changing the channel. “Well, she’s not.” The CEO deadpans and that was the end of it.
Lena tries to forget about that disaster of a movie night. She really does. She wills herself not to think about it. She tries pushing it at the back on her mind for two days until Lena just explodes.
She’s furious because how dare Kara Danvers just — push her away like she’s nothing. ‘She should be your type’ plays on her head nonstop almost mocking her and it makes her want to scream because how could someone be this —ugh.
That’s how Sam finds her. Pacing around her office like a mad woman on a mission rage written all over her face. She looks like a ticking time bomb just seconds from exploding.
“Looks like someone woke up at the wrong side of the bed this morning,” cautiously Sam approaches, like walking close to a wild animal. She makes sure to leave a respectable distance just in case.
“Unbelievable!” Lena starts her rant, her hands balled into a fist. “I can’t believe out of all people she thinks Supergirl is perfect for me.”
“I mean she’s not—”
“Samantha Arias, I swear to god not today.”
Sam immediately lifts both hands in surrender, taking another step back.
“Here I was worried sick of what she might think about these stupid rumors about me and Supergirl only to find out she obviously doesn’t care! The nerve! Supergirl?!”
Sam opens her mouth attempting to ask a question or two but seeing as Lena is close to throwing the nearest thing she could grab against the wall, she decided against it.
But the thing is, Kara Danvers does care. She probably cares more than anyone. Kara Danvers cares about Lena Luthor so much that it bothered the Kryptonian that Supergirl isn’t Lena’s type hence why she’s huffing again.
However, another incident, another threat to Lena’s life changes everything.
It was such a close call that it leaves them both breathless and the girl of steel shaking as she holds Lena close. Blue eyes scan each and every corner of Lena’s face making sure she’s okay. Making sure she’s real and nothing bad has happened to here. Normally, Lena wouldn’t allow this much intimacy between them but after this attack she needed something to ground her a little.
“You’re okay. Thank Rao, you’re okay.” Lena doesn’t move, her feet appear to be rooted both by shock and fear while Supergirl continues to examine every inch of her face. “I was so scared to lose you,” Supergirl whispers and Lena could hear the tremble in her voice.
Everything happened so fast that Lena was having a hard time to process everything. The attempt on her life, how she was merrily inches away from death. She remembers the exact moment she came to terms with it. That this was it. Finally, from all the attempts on her life and she would have been okay with it if not for a specific blonde reporter that she wished was with her at that very moment. She can’t die. Not yet. Not until she tells Kara how she feels. They at least deserve that.
However, the reality is it’s the superhero that is here. Supergirl is the one holding her. Holding her the way she would have hoped a certain blonde reporting was holding her.
Lena had to close her eyes to stop looking back at blue eyes staring at her with so much concern. This can’t happen. She’s not — she can’t be. She loves Kara Danvers. She might be pissed at her but she knows deep down she’s in love with the nervous fidgety reporter and not to this impenetrable woman right in front of her.
Her head shakes as Supergirl’s tighten her grip as if too afraid Lena might slip away. During these moments when Lena allows herself to feel, she genuinely does not know what to make of it. Why does Supergirl care about her so much even when no one is watching?
She assumes it was all for publicly but this, when it’s just them and no one else. Supergirl stands close to her, completely shaken and unbalanced. There is genuine fear in her eyes at the thought of being too late or not being fast enough. Lena has never felt safer.
As she starts to pulls away, green eyes meet glassy blue. She convinces herself it’s the dust and not the resident superhero actually in tears because that would mean…
“I thought I was going to lose you.”
“But why do you—”
Before Lena could respond, she feels a pair of lips against her own and everything around them seems to disappear.
It barely registers to her what is happening, completely getting lost on the pair of lips against her own. Lena feels a shiver run down her spine at the way Supergirl is kissing her, making her grab unto the superhero’s shoulder.
The action was meant to push the super away because this can’t be happening. These were not the pair of lips she wanted on her but somehow, it feels right. Like this is how things should be. She feels her heart raising as Supergirl deepens the kiss, feeling herself getting pushed slightly until the back of her knee hits against a hard surface but it barely registers to Lena because Supergirl is kissing her in a way she's never been kissed before. Out of this world.
Finally, Lena finds the strength to pull away the need to breathe outweighing her body’s desire. And for the first time, she wills herself to stare at the pair of brilliant oceanic eyes that she’s been trying so hard to ignore. She lets her eyes track down every detail of the superheroes face, trying to figuring out a puzzle with missing pieces. Blue eyes stare back at her with a mix of desire and unbridled affection as Lena continues to gasp for air and stares.
Something about Supergirl’s smile, the strong line of her jaw, the way her soft lips parts as she patiently waits for Lena to say something seems so familiar. Like an answer at the tip of her tongue but can’t seem to get it out. It’s frustrating as it is captivating and all Lena wants to do is drink it in, see past the mask that this superhero constantly wears and be able to see what all this means.
Being this close, Lena can see the moment Supergirl lips rise to form a smile. A smile Lena is all too familiar with now that she’s finally inches away from the superhero. It’s all too familiar now and finally, it dawns to her.
A tiny gasp leaves her lips at the realization, emerald eyes never leaving blue as Supergirl’s smile brightens. As if she too understands that Lena has finally figured it out. With trembling delicate fingers, Lena reaches up and cup Supergirl’s cheeks and instinctively, Supergirl leans against her touch. Like it’s the most natural thing in the world.
Lena feels a gentle squeeze where Supergirl is holding her and she lets out a breath she didn’t even know she was holding.
“Kara?” Lena whispers, barely hiding the tremble of her own voice and there it was. The smile of the woman she’s been not so secretly in love with plastered on National City’s hero’s face.
“I am madly in love with you, Miss Lena Luthor.”

Hazbin + Detroit Become Human AU??
oh boy youtube out of blue recommended me detroit videos and my brain immediately went WHAT IF CROSSOVER??
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So, Alastor was (one of) the first android to develop a deviation. He lived with a married couple, although their marrige wasn't happy. The woman treated him well and he loved her as a mother, while her husband was most of the time drunk or on drugs, and physically abuses her. Alastor didn't see that much. The last time went horrybly, the man killed his wife, and Alastor couldn't bare with it, deviated nd killed the man in revenge. Then he burned the house down with both bodies inside and ran away. Police couldn't find any clues and the case was forgotten. Alastor started a life as a human, became a radio host, but couldn't stop thinking of how easily he got away with the murder. And he desided to kill more people, because he was bored. He carefully plans his murders, sometimes he messes with the police giving them wrong clues and wrapping everything onto itself, or leading to someone else. When deviations become more frequent, he started staging murders by androids, it was more risky but also more fun for him. He loves talking about his own murders on the radio.
He consideres himself better than both humans and androids, even those who has deviation as well. He doesn't care about freedom for all androids, and even owns few himself - Husk (and probably Niffty) (mostly to make it less suspicious that he has biocomponents and android blood at home). He also likes to vist android dump and look for working components (he sells what he can't use for himself).
HE WILL NEVER BE CAUGHT, BECAUSE I SAID SO!
Tumblr media
Lute and Adam as Connor and Hank. Honestly, i'd love to look at their shenanigans, that would be really fucking funny
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Chaelie and Vaggie as Alice and Kara. Lucifer as Todd?... They're still very much gay. Also i'm not sure if Vaggie is still... you know, Vaggie. Lmao. What other name would she have, Maggie?
Aaaand idk who's playing Marcus role. Not Alastor, he's a secret 4th option lmao. Valentino owns sex club (obviously...), Angel (android) belongs there. Lilith is the creator of androids. And Sera could be the president lmao
ROSIE WAIT HOLY SHIT WHO'S ROSIE well she can be just Alastor's friend who knows about his nature and doesn't care about it 🥺💖 She's also still a cannibal. And Alastor doesn't care, they totally deserve each other KLJJKDFLHKFJDJGLK
Not what i was going to post today at all.. well, let's see how well it makes

Kara is buzzed when it happens. Not drunk, buzzed. A little tipsy. Not lost in the sauce, more “in her cups”. It’s been a rough day of wordsmithing and crime fighting and game night has turned into an impromptu movie night because no one has enough energy to play anything. The Settles of Catan box is gathering dust next to the Pictionary stuff and the other random games that have accumulated at Lena’s apartment ever since they all realized that she has the best bachelorette pad for hosting these things.
Instead they’re watching Twister instead of playing Twister, laughing at how cheesy it is. The movie is almost over but the night is young and Kara is unwinding, so she asks Lena for a favor.
“Can you bring me some?” she says, spotting Lena pouring wine from a box that Kara brought over.
“Sure,” Lena says.
A moment later, Lena joins her.
This moment is inportant. Kara doesn’t know it yet but it’s one of the most important. One day she will rank it in importance with the day she first saved Lena and the first time she walked into Lena’s office and a number of other firsts.
Consider this: It is a warm May night and Lena has the windows open to let the breeze in. It’s maybe seventy in the penthouse and eventually it’ll get cooler. Right now, everyone is lazing about in knockaround clothes. Kara herself is in a pair of old threadbare sweats from the DEO that she kept even after the organization disbanded because they were so comfy, and the ribbed tank she had on under her outfit at work, baring her blocky and sun-tanned shoulders.
(This is because Lena once made a comment about her big meaty shoulders after they attended a spin class together. Kara never consciously said “I’m giving Lena two tickets to the gun show”, but she has her bis and tris on display around her whenever possible anyway. Kara had no reason to flex when she’s opening a bottle of wine -or a box with a screw cap- but she does it anyway. She doesn’t need to pick up Lena’s car… you get the idea.)
Lena, for her part, is dressed in mercilessly short shorts that bare her thick thighs, and she’s put on a sweatshirt. A gray sweatshirt that has the National City university logo on it, a school she did not attend, and is two sizes too big for her. She’s put her hair up in a sloppy ponytail and has taken out her contacts in favor of a pair of rather chunky-framed glasses. She looks like a dork.
A stunning, cute, adorable, huggable, kissable dork.
Lena brings with her two blue plastic tumblers of wine, and hands one to Kara.
The couch is packed. Alex and Nia flank Kara, and their respective partners fill out the sofa. Really, someone should have saved Lena a seat in her own house. She has one in mind, though. She sits right on Kara’s lap as she hands her the wine.
It could be any number of things that cause it. She’s tired, she spiked a few of her drinks with alien rum, it’s been a long and frustrating day and she’s just not thinking right. She doesn’t have her filters in. Words just spill out.
“Good girl,” Kara says, as Lena settles in place.
The reaction is subtle, but to a Kryptonian, obvious. Lena’s heart does a little pitter-patter and she tenses just slightly, just barely, so subtly that only Kara would notice. Her pupils widen and her breath catches sharply.
Alex, seated such that she’s behind Lena, snaps her gaze to them quickly.
Kara does the only thing she reasonably can do. She presses her legs gently to either side to make sure there’s enough room and lets Lena settle in with her. The couch is one of those huge custom jobs that cost more than Kara’s apartment and every stick of furniture in it, so there’s room for Lena to comfortable position herself and lean back into Kara, sipping a bit of wine.
Everyone is else is dead silent, the only sound coming from Lena’s massive TV and theater quality sound system (so there is in fact a lot of sound)
Lena is there and she’s warm and soft, the crown of her head in perfect range for a little sniff. With not much effort Kara could press her lips to Lena’s hairline and give her a little kiss.
She’d done that once. It was after a save, when Kara was holding Lena in her arms after catching a collapsing crane on her back, shrugging off a hundred tons of twisted metal to save her Lena. It was not long after Lena came back to her and things were still weird and fragile and Lex wanted her dead and Kara was so, so scared, so wracked with pain just from knowing what Lena meant to her. The only way she could stop herself from kissing Lena, proper kissing, was by pressing her lips somewhere safe and friendly and kinda a we’re friends kiss and not a I want to marry you please never leave me again kiss.
Lena drinks the wine so fast she gulps, and she’s either thirsty or trying to calm her nerves. There’s a palpable air in the room right now, a heavy tension that’s made them all suddenly stiff and uncomfortable. They pass the rest of the movie in silence.
“Who’s up for a double feature?” Kara says, not wanting to leave but not wanting to test the terms under which she might stay.
“Not me,” Alex says. “We’ve got to get home and pay Ruby for watching Esme. Besides, if we let you picky we’ll end up watching some damn cartoon.”
Nia wnd Brainy similarly demur, citing reasons of their own.
“Okay. I’ll stay and help clean up.”
“You don’t have to,” Lena says, tentatively.
“I don’t want to be a poor guest.”
The rest of the Superfriends pile out of the penthouse and into the night with mildly alarming speed, and Kara is suddenly alone with Lena. The vast penthouse doesn’t feel empty. Instead it feels close in, almost crowded.
Lena slips off of Kara’s lap and plops beside her, yawning. She sets down her empty wine cup and stretches, delightfully arching her back as she throws her arms back up over her head, fingers laced. Kara doesn’t need x-ray vision to see she’s bare beneath the sweatshirt. Her own heart does a little flutter.
She looks so soft, so cozy and inviting, but her legs are such a distraction that Kara can’t help but look at them, her gaze sweeping from ankle to hip with the intensity of an explorer who’s just crested a mountain and set eyes on a promised new land. That’s when Kara realizes that Lena saw her looking and is meeting her gaze firmly.
“Like what you see?”
Kara swallows hard. She can hear the drum of Lena’s own heart, almost feel the same quickening of her pulse as well as the slight waver in her voice.
Kara licks her lips.
“Should we clean up, or…”
“Should we? Or should it wait until morning?”
If Lena had been dropping hint before, she was laying down the gauntlet now. She looked at Kara with lidded eyes and a flushed, wine-silly grin.
Kara swallowed hard. A part of her, a very loud part, still insisted she misinterpreted all of this and Lena was just being friendly. What if she was just being friendly, what if-
“What would you rather do?” said Kara.
Lena shrugged. “I’m tired of thinking, Kara. People ask me what to do all damned day. I’d rather relax and just let someone else take charge for a while.”
The way she said it, especially take charge, was so heavy and drippy and velvety that Kara could get lost in it.
Fuck it.
Kara twisted and, carefully, very carefully, lifted Lena into her lap. Lena made sure to not sit but straddle, her warm thighs bracketing Kara’s as she settled her weight in Kara’s lap and fell against her chest.
Very, very tenderly, with supreme care, Kara pressed her hand to the back of Lena’s head, slipping her fingers into Lena’s hair, and guided her in. She savored every second. The ghost of breath on her lips, the sight of Lena’s blown pupils before she closed her eyes, the feeling of Lena’s fingers digging into her shoulders as their lips met. Lena kissed her softly at first, then more and more greedily, exploding from a gently pressing of lips into something undeniably needy and hot. When Lena moaned into her mouth, Kara’s nerves lit up like a Christmas tree and she instincts grabbed Lena’s hips and and grinds herself up against her.
“Lena,” Kara whispered, “is that my sweatshirt?”
“Yes. It is.”
“Take it off,” said Kara, and then a moment later, “good girl.”

Happy three years to “Kara leaned in”!
Tumblr media
“It’s only because you’re on the team that I’m here,” she murmured in Lena’s ear, holding the other woman in her arms as close as she could without hurting her. It was the truth, but somehow it just didn’t feel like enough. And how could it, when there were so many more truths hammering away at the walls of her heart, begging to be let free? Kara wasn’t sure if there were enough words to say what she longed to. To tell her best friend how during their time apart, she constantly felt like a piece of her was missing, and how having Lena back in her life had made her feel whole again. And how could she explain to her, to everyone, that when she was trapped in the phantom zone, she thought her worst nightmares would be of losing Alex or Eliza - but instead the nightmare the phantoms chose to taunt her with, night after cold, dark, sleepless night, was of losing Lena. How she lost Lena a hundred times, in a hundred different ways, and every single time, she woke up screaming and choking on her own tears. When she finally stumbled through the door onto the ship and into Alex’s waiting arms, there was a large part of her that wished it had been Lena who caught her. And maybe that should make her feel guilty, with how close Kara and her sister have always been - but then again, Lena has always been the exception to the rule.
The truth is, as much as Supergirl needs the sun, the teary-eyed woman standing in front of her is almost equally as important. Kara likes to think of Lena as the moon - a light to guide her in the darkest nights, and the same type of gravity that has always drawn her in, constant like the pull of the ocean tides. And maybe that very gravity is why, when Lena finally steps back from their embrace, Kara can’t help the way her body follows. Maybe it’s because after spending every night in that awful place having to face the reality of life without Lena, Kara is pretty sure she would follow her anywhere. Or maybe, it’s because she knows she might never find the right words to say, and so for once, she decides to let her heart take the lead.
As she feels herself lean in, taking a small step forward to close the gap between herself and the brunette, there’s a moment where Lena’s eyes widen in surprise as she registers what Kara is about to do. But then her hands are softly cupping the superhero’s face and pulling her in, and just as Kara’s own trembling hands find Lena’s waist, their lips meet in a tender kiss. It’s everything Kara had ever imagined it would be, and yet it’s nothing at all like she imagined it, because it’s so, so much more. She doesn’t register the look of shock on Alex’s face as her hands slide up Lena’s back, as she tugs her closer and deepens the kiss, nor does she hear J’onn awkwardly clearing his throat as he politely suggests the team leave the room to give the two women some privacy. All that exists in this moment is the feeling of Lena’s heart pounding against her own, of the softness of Lena’s mouth against hers, and the feel of Lena’s hands tangling in her hair. She vaguely hears the receding sound of Nia’s laughter as she crows triumphantly about someone owing her fifty dollars, but none of that matters. Because right now, with Lena in her arms and their lips pressed together, Kara knows she is finally home.

Full Disclosure, I went through PAGES of tags to find the Pregnant-by-Chris!MC asks so I could revisit the angst, and it also got me wondering. How would the ROs react if MC ended up pregnant with their kid? And with regards to the F!ROs and trans ROs, how would they react if THEY got pregnant by MC? I'm down with this going in a fluffy or angsty direction, as you gathered from my search for the previous asks about it, so answer however you like!
Oh noo. I swear I'll get to work on the masterpost so you can find things easier, it's been a long time coming and I need to stop procrastinating. I feel like I did this ask before...but I'm not positive. So I'll do it again with how the RO's have developed. Below the cut~ (Tagged with pregnancy for those who don't want to read.)
❤️ Cam - Ec-fucking-static. At first. Cam would be so pleased because finally his own family. Not that MC and Em weren't already. He would give all of his love to his child, unlike what he got from his parents. Then there would be the problem. What if he's just like his parents? What if he's unable to love them the way they need or support them when they need it. MC would have to have an honest heart-to-heart with him.
💙 G - Very nervous at first. There are a lot of things to consider such as school and childbirth. Is their current living space even safe for a kid? And what if MC or G has more than one kid, it's possible. G would need a bit to kind of come to terms with it. Once they have, G is golden. They're happy and don't bother to try and hide behind their cool demeanor.
Now if ex-G/MC had gotten pregnant. It would be so painful for them, because would MC want to be in the picture or would MC allow them to be. If the breakup still happened and MC had gotten with Chris, G would fight with everything they have to see their child, or to give MC the chance to see them. (it's bittersweet)
💚 Kara - So she would be scared more than anything. Happy comes way later, once she's sure this is what she wants. Because for Kara, she doesn't really get to make her own decisions so much of her life is decided for her. If her first real big decision is having a kid, she's going to ace it. First off by having a chat with her parents (who would to overstep), then MC's parents. About what is allowed and isn't. The grandparents don't get to dictate the pregnancy, the childbirth, the child. If they want to be involved then they will be expected to abide by Kara and MC's wishes or be cut out. That simple. (She will buy too many baby clothes ahead of time, it will be a problem)
💛 M - What!? Excuse you, whose pregnant? With a baby? Like an actual human being? How did this happen!? (This is M's reaction regardless of whose pregnant. )MC has to remind shocked M how in fact that did happen. In which case M turns blood red and refuses to look at MC until they've calmed down.) M is going to go through 5 stages. 1 being shock, 2 being really shocked 3 understanding 4 go back and repeat step 1, 2 and 3. 5 acceptance. Leading them all the way to joy. M will take a good bit before they get through those steps, but when they do they're happy, nervous but happy. M isn't sure how to deal with kids. If they have one should they just go ahead and have another too? M will want to call their mothers' immediately. Get some info about raising a kid and what to expect. They will order far too many books about kids and what to expect when you're expecting. (take their computer for their own good)
💜 Isaac - They very well might have a breakdown, and it's not due to not wanting to have a kid with MC. It's more of knowing that you're not promised forever, as someone who lost their mother. Isaac is going to take it hard. Because she will never get to see her grandchild, and Isaac will never get to have that moment with her. Now onto how they feel outside of that, Isaac will struggle. Because they realize they have something else to lose, and to someone who is afraid of committing due to that it's not an easy situation to be in. They would need reassurance, that this is what MC wants. That they'll work hard, and together will do their best for their child. Isaac wants to be there for everything, every checkup, every milestone. All of it. Proudest parent ever.
🖤 Ardent - The amount of breeding jokes to be told : 14. The amount of tears shed: Over 50. Which he will deny with every breath. They're happy tears. Happy to have a family with MC, happy for his niece to have a cousin to navigate the world with. He is too happy, so cocky. Rubbing MC's belly, giving it so many kisses. He did that, him! Can you believe it? Not to mention, Cupid is going to have to take classes now. That's the first step, Cupid learning how to behave around babies. Ardent is very big into reading, he will overread though. Like MC is going to learn the nitty gritty just like he is. Oh, and they'll probably have to move if they're currently living in the apartments. To a place with an actual yard, the kind his parents had back in Greece. MC will be spoiled, because Ardent will cook every meal. He will ensure MC doesn't have to life a finger, or even Cupid if they feel like they can't. He would be a great dad, plus he has been saving up dad jokes. I apologize ahead of time.

Hi beautiful, are you ok? You could write where Ethan has a "best friend" who is really in love with him and purposely creates a situation where he is confused who to believe, leaving the hurt reader not wanting to see him for a while. It can be a anguish with a happy ending, please :) thank you.
hi! i’m okay, hope you are too💖 this turned out to be longer than i expected, hope you don’t mind! enjoy <3
hell is when i fight with you — ethan landry
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
word count: 3,227
pairing: ethan landry x fem!reader
summary: ethan takes y/n to his hometown to introduce her to his family and friends. kara, ethan’s best friend who is in love with him, makes up a lie that makes the couple fight.
Tumblr media
WHEN ETHAN INTRODUCED Y/N TO HIS FRIENDS AND FAMILY, SHE FELT HER HEART MIGHT HAVE BURSTED FROM HAPPINESS. She had been in relationships before him, but never felt quite what she felt with Ethan. With him, Y/N was the happiest she had ever been, and sometimes she wondered if it was a dream, but the touch of his hand and his sweet kisses reminded her it wasn’t. It was real life, and she was extremely lucky to have found someone like him.
She loved him, and of course she wanted his family to lover her too, so Y/N was quite disappointed when she sensed Ethan’s best friend, Kara, didn’t entirely like her. Scratch that, she could feel her hatred for her with just one look. So Y/N made it her mission to change that.
“Hey, Kara! How are you?” Y/N greeted her.
“I’m good” she said drily. “What do you want?”
“I heard they’re playing The breakfast club at that old cinema down the street. I was wondering if you’d like to go with me? You know, it’d be nice to get to know the other” Y/N said with a sweet smile.
The girl shifted uncomfortably “I don’t think so… I mean, I’m busy with college assignments and all that. But, you can ask the rest of the group. I’m sure they would love to go with you”
Y/N furrowed her eyes in disappointment “I understand. Well, good luck with your stuff. And if you happen to have some free time or want a break, I’d love to hang out with you”
“I’ll keep that in mind” the fake smile on her face made Y/N know Kara’d rather drown herself in finals and assignments than spend time with her.
Y/N walked back to Ethan’s house completely defeated. She didn’t know why Kara was acting that way towards her. They met hours ago, Y/N and her had barely interacted, so she didn’t understand where her attitude was coming from.
“Hey, love” Ethan welcomed her with a kiss and a tight hug.
“Hi, Eth” she laid on top of him on the couch, burring her head on the crook of his neck. “Oh, they’re playing The Breakfast Club tonight!”
Ethan smiled, knowing how much she adored that movie “You want to go?”
Y/N nodded “I was thinking we could go with your friends, to get to know them better. If that’s okay”
The boy caressed her cheeks as he looked at her with eyes filled with love and adoration “You’re the best girlfriend in the world, did you know that?”
“You’re exaggerating a bit” Y/N laughed “It’s literally the bare minimum”
“Well, I don’t care. I love you for it”
Ethan kissed her. His hands went to her hair, gripping it with a bit of force, and she couldn’t help but moan. He rolled them over, so that he was now on top of her. Ethan then started kissing her neck as his hand wandered under her t-shirt.
“We are not having sex in your parents’ couch” Y/N giggled, pushing him off.
“It’s fine, let’s go to our room” his lips attached to her neck.
Y/N rolled her eyes in amusement “Let me re-phrase that. We are not having sex in your parents’ house”
“There’s a motel down the-“
Y/N cut him off “I’m sure you can survive four more days without sex, you hormonal idiot” she hit him with the pillow, making him detached his lips from her skin.
“I really doubt that. I really miss being insid-“
Y/N put her hand on his mouth “No dirty talking either”
“Why do you have to be so respectful?” Ethan rolled his eyes in frustration.
“I’m sorry, babe. Kissing and cuddling will have to suffice”
“Fine” he crossed his arms in front of his chest and huffed. Y/N couldn’t stop her laughter “Don’t laugh at me, I’m mad.”
“I’m sorry, but you look so adorable. I love you very much”
He opened his arms so that she could cuddle his side “I love you very much too”
Tumblr media
AFTER THE MOVIE, TARA INVITED Y/N FOR A SLEEPOVER AT HER HOUSE, WHICH SHE GLADLY ACCEPTED. Turns out, Ethan’s friends welcomed her to the group with open and warm arms—except for Kara, of course.
“Ew, Econ” Y/N said, shivering in disgust, when she saw the book lying on Tara’s desk. The four girls—Tara, Mindy, Quinn and Anika—laughed at her reaction. “It haunts me, I swear. I have to do the final exam next week”.
“We’re so lucky to be on summer vacations now” Mindy smiled contently.
Y/N furrowed her eyes “You are?”
“Yup, our college gives us one more week. So we started vacations this week” Tara explained.
“But-“ Y/N shook her head. “Never mind”
“No, tells us” Quinn encouraged.
“It’s just that today I invited Kara to the movies, and she said she had lots of college assignments to do, so she couldn’t come” Y/N said.
The girls exchanged glances “Maybe she just wasn’t in the mood and didn’t want you to feel rejected” Anika suggested.
“Yeah, that makes sense… yes, maybe you’re right” Y/N said, feeling a little bit better. Maybe she was overthinking.
“I mean, she did tell us we should invite you to a sleep over so you’d feel more comfortable” Tara said.
“Really? That’s nice of her. Yeah, I’m totally overreacting” Y/N shook her head, the pressure on her chest loosened.
“You’re really cool, Y/N/N. I don’t know how Ethan pulled you” Mindy said, making his girlfriend elbow her in the ribs. “Ouch! She knows I’m joking”.
Y/N laughed “You guys are really cool too”.
hey babe!
everything okay?
She texted Ethan, who replied a few short minutes later.
hi
yup, everything’s good
um, when you get here in the morning we should talk
That text made Y/N confused. He seemed dry, but she didn’t want to think about it so she just answered him shortly.
yeah, okay
we’re going to sleep now, so see you tomorrow<3
good night
Y/N fell asleep with a big knot in her stomach. She could feel something was not right at all, and it scared the hell out of her.
Tumblr media
Y/N AND QUINN WALKED BACK TO HER HOUSE THE NEXT MORNING, and the red-head could sense something was going on inside her head. She looked completely sad and her face was the physical representation of anguish.
“You’re like an open book, you know? Come on, tell me what’s wrong” Quinn said. Y/N sighed and showed her the texts from last night. “He seems normal, he always texts like that”.
“Not to me”
“What could you possibly have done wrong? He was fine when we left the cinema, and then you didn’t talk to him until that text”
“I don’t know, that’s why I’m worried”
“Well, whatever it is, I’m sure you’ll both be okay. I know my brother very well, and I can tell he loves you very much. Like literally, you don’t know how much he talks about you, Y/N/N” she bumped her shoulder with hers.
“I hope it’s nothing, because he’s everything to me” she smiled sadly. At Quinn’s curious glance, she explained, “After my parents kicked me out of the house, because I didn’t follow the career they wanted, I was left in a dark place. And then I met your brother, and he helped me heal. I don’t know where I would be if it wasn’t for him, so the thought of losing him completely terrifies me”.
Quinn hugged her in comfort, her heart breaking for the girl. “You’re not losing him, Y/N. Couples fight, but they talk and they solve it, especially when love is present. And you and my brother have an incredibly amount of love for each other.”
“Thank you, Quinn” Y/N smiled gratefully.
“Anytime, you’re part of the family now, which I’m glad because you’re a sweetheart”
When they both arrived to the house, Quinn went to her bedroom, after telling Y/N to keep her updated on what was going on, and Y/N went to Ethan’s room. He was sitting with his back against the blue bedpost and was watching Tik Toks.
When he heard the door of the room being opened, he looked up and frowned “You didn’t sleep well” he stated, looking at the bags under her eyes.
“Um, no. I couldn’t sleep, I was worried about your texts, to be honest. You seemed off, is everything okay?”
“Kara came here last night” Ethan said.
Y/N frowned “Okay?”
“She said she came here to confront you”
“Confront me?” she asked confused.
“Because of the invitation” Ethan explained.
“Oh! It’s not a big deal” Y/N brushed it off.
Ethan scoffed and looked at her in anger, taking her aback “Not a big deal? What the hell, Y/N?”
“Why are you angry?” Y/N asked surprised.
He stood up from the bed “Oh, I don’t know! Maybe because my best friend was crying because my girlfriend leaves her aside. Because she wanted to get to know you and you just hung out with the rest of the group, but not with her”
“How is that my fault?!” Y/N asked in disbelief “I didn’t leave her out of the plan, she was the first person I asked to come!”
“Then why wasn’t she there?” Ethan asked in an accusatory tone.
“Because she told me she had college stuff to do and wouldn’t be able to make it” she explained.
Ethan laughed drily “Come up with a better excuse, Y/N, they are on summer break. Look, I understand if you are jealous, but you honestly have no reason to be. I love you and only you, you didn’t have to act like a bitch.”
The last word felt like stab to the chest “I didn’t do anything! I now know that she’s on holidays. The girls told me, they said Kara might have said that because she wasn’t in the mood for movies and didn’t want to make me feel bad for declining the invitation. But now she’s acting like I have been scheming against her, so I don’t know what to think anymore” she scoffed. She couldn’t believe Kara would be capable of going that far.
Ethan sat on the edge of the bed and sighed “I don’t know, Y/N”
“You don’t believe me” it wasn’t a question, it was an statement. And it pierced her heart that Ethan couldn’t even look at her “You really think I’m a crazy jealous girlfriend that only wants you to herself” the sadness was mixed with disbelief.
“I just… I need time to think” Ethan said softly, which made her a bit angry. He really believed she was capable of doing something like that.
Y/N shook her head, trying to hold back the tears “Whatever, Ethan. I just want you to remind you that I came here because I wanted to meet your family”
“Y/N-“
“I made sure all of your friends were going to be here, I made a fucking list of things we could do to get to know the other, I wrote down recipes I could do with your mom and sister-“
“Okay, I get it” Ethan said, trying to grab her hand, but she pushed it away.
“Do you?” her voice was thin, and she hated it. She hated crying so much “Because you didn’t hesitate for a second to believe I would be capable of purposely doing something to hurt the people you love”
“She’s my best friend” he tried to explain.
“Yes, I get that. But I’m your girlfriend, and I don’t expect you to call her bluff instantly, but you had no trouble at all believing I would do something as shitty as that” she pressed her lips in a thin line and brushed the tears off with her hands “And that fucking hurts. Especially because you know how much you mean to me”
“I’m sorry, Y/N/N. I’m just really confused” Ethan sighed, the sight of her crying made him feel like he had just kicked a puppy.
“I’ll give you space” Y/N said, grabbing her suitcase.
“What are you doing?” Ethan asked, panic present in his voice.
“You need time to think, and I do too” Y/N said, starting to pack her things.
“Are you breaking up with me?” the pressure on his chest was like nothing he had ever felt before. As if someone was stepping on it, not allowing him to breathe properly.
“No. We can’t talk to each other when we’re like this, we need time to process everything before we discuss it. We will end up saying things we might regret” Y/N said, facing away from him.
The pressure decreased but Ethan could still feel it. “Where are you going?”
“Back home, you should stay here. I’ll see you in a couple of days” Y/N said, standing in the doorway.
Ethan watched her walk away, fingers itching to hold her back. That was supposed to be a happy trip, she had been so excited to meet everyone. “Fuck” he grabbed a pillow and buried his face there, allowing the tears to fall.
Tumblr media
ETHAN’S HEAD FELT LIKE EXPLODING AFTER CRYING SO MUCH, SO HE DECIDED TO GO FOR A WALK. He tried to take a nap, but without Y/N by his side, it was impossible. He felt complete emptiness now that she wasn’t around, and even if it had just been a couple of hours since they last saw each other, he missed her insanely. They had never fought like that, and it felt like hell.
“Ethan! Hey, we were just going to your house” Chad said, the rest of the group standing next to him.
“The cinema is playing Mamma Mia, Y/N’s favorite, and we thought we should definitely go” Anika said.
Ethan felt a pang on his heart at the mention of her name. “Um, Y/N left.”
“Oh, where?” Tara asked confused.
“We had a fight. It was pretty bad, and she went back home” even mentioning the fight made him want to crawl into a ball and cry like a little kid. He could hear his own broken voice.
“What happened?” Chad asked, rubbing his friend’s shoulder in a comforting way.
“Kara came over last night to tell me Y/N left her out of the plan because she was jealous of our friendship” Ethan said.
“That doesn’t sound like Y/N” Mindy said confused. “In fact, I think Kara was the first person she asked”.
“That’s what she told me, but Kara says the exact opposite. I don’t know what to believe, I mean, I trust them both and one of them is definitely lying” he exposed his frustration.
“Wait, Kara was the one who told us to invite Y/N for a sleepover” Anika said, frowning. “Why would she want to make Y/N feel part of the group if she was supposedly leaving her stranded?”
“Yeah, you’re right. That’s weird” Tara nodded.
Mindy gasped, scaring the group “What if she told us to invite her so she could talk to Ethan alone?”
“You make her seem like a movie villain, Mindy” Chad rolled his eyes. “But then again, this feels like a movie conflict”.
“Besides, she has a motive” Mindy said, ignoring her twin’s comment. Ethan looked at her confused, and the girl rolled her eyes. “Oh, come on. Are you that oblivious? Kara’s been in love with you for ages.”
“What?” Ethan asked shocked.
“Actually, now that I think about it, Kara had been acting strange since Ethan told us he would be coming with his girlfriend” Chad spoke.
“I’m a fucking idiot” Ethan groaned.
“Agreed” Mindy said, and Anika elbowed her on the side.
“She’s hates me now. She’s going to break up with me” Ethan said in panic.
“She won’t” Anika reassured him. “Wish you’ve heard how she talked about you last night, Eth. She has you on a fucking pedestal, don’t worry about it. You’ll be alright.”
“I hope so, guys. Because I love her way too much, and I don’t know what I’d do if I lost her”
Tumblr media
THE SECOND THEY FIGURED IT OUT, ETHAN ALMOST GRABBED HIS KEYS TO CHASE AFTER HIS GIRLFRIEND. But his friends convinced him to let her be for a couple of days, which felt like torture because Ethan couldn’t stand being far away from her. He was so used to being with her that now he didn’t know how to be without her.
Now that the days had passed, he drove back to the city. His gaze constantly fell on the seat next to him, as if expecting Y/N to materialise there, he longed for her terrible voice screaming Taylor Swift songs like crazy.
Ethan stared at the door of their shared apartment anxiously. His stomach was revolted and his hands were so shaky that the knock on the door was barely audible. Yet, Y/N opened the door instantly, almost as if she had been expecting him—which she had.
When Ethan left his town, Quinn sent her a text telling her, so she could be prepared. And when she heard the sound of his knuckles against the wood, she ran towards it with desperation.
The couple almost cried at the sight of the other and in that moment, they both somehow knew they’d be okay. They still needed to talk, though.
“Hi” at the sound of her voice, he couldn’t help but engulfing her in a hug. They both melted at the touch of the other, and relief washed over their bodies. “I’m sorry, Ethan. Fuck, I missed you. I’m sorry.”
“No, no” he said, closing the door behind him while still hugging his girlfriend by the waist. “I’m the one who should be apologising. Shit, I’m such an asshole. Of course you’d never do something to hurt me, I’m sorry, Y/N. That thought should’ve never crossed my mind, and you had every right to be mad at me.”
“Yes, but I should’ve been more understanding. I mean, you had known her for longer than you’ve known me. Of course you wouldn’t distrust her”
“Still, I said some shitty things I really don’t think. You’re not a crazy jealous girlfriend or a bitch. You’re the best girlfriend I could ever ask for, and I’m so lucky to have you”
“I’m lucky to have you too. I missed you” she pressed her forehead against his, bumping their noses. Y/N traced the outline of his cheekbones delicately, loving the feeling of his soft skin and the way it seemed to relax him.
They went to sit on the couch, and Ethan pulled her on his lap, hugging her waist as she rested her head on his chest.
“I missed you too. I should’ve chased after you. I was about to do it, but the group held me back, saying you needed some time”
Y/N smiled “That was probably wise. I was a bit mad”
“They loved you, by the way. Especially Quinn” he said playing with her hair.
The girl laughed “I loved them too. Especially Quinn too, like I might have a tiny crush on her”
“Ouch, one visit and you’re already leaving me for my sister?” Ethan poked her in the ribs, making her squirm.
“Sorry. She’s just that great” Y/N said.
Ethan rolled his eyes and then smiled “I’m really glad you like her. Um, she told me that if I don’t fix things with you, I shouldn’t bother to go back”
Y/N giggled “See? She’s fricking awesome”
“Stop complimenting my sister, compliment me” he gave her a fake pout.
Y/N shook her head, grinning “You’ll always be my number one, Eth”
He pecked her lips “And you’ll always be mine.”

you make me wanna (make me wanna give it all to you)
relationship: Kara Zor-El/Lena Luthor
rating: E
word count: 7.2k
Summary:
She slips her hand between Lena’s legs—still at a publicly appropriate height—and gently draws an aimless pattern along the inside of her thigh.
The hitch of Lena’s breath sounds like a thunderclap to Kara and she stiffens, fingers stilling as her ears heat up.
She thinks maybe she shouldn’t keep touching her while they’re in a room full of other people.
OR
Kara's maybe more than a little obsessed with Lena in thigh-high stockings.
(read on ao3)
Kara really doesn’t think she’s super obsessed with how Lena dresses or anything.
Okay, sure, sometimes Lena will wear something that makes this molten-hot feeling pool in her belly, filling her up with such a sweet, melty ache that she wants nothing more than to rush home and fill Lena up until she falls apart just as sweet and melty.
But it's not like she's got an obsession.
It's just that Lena’s so ridiculously pretty that Kara has a revelatory, earth-shaking, breath-taking moment of that can’t be right every time she sees her. Which, again, has nothing to do with being obsessed with the clothes Lena wears, no. It's all because Lena is that pretty.
Case in point, the fact that just the other day, Lena opens the door for her—
(And this is an aside, but relevant: It’s the door to Kara’s own apartment, and more importantly, she opens the door from the inside. Because Kara had given her a key the month before, since Lena’s welcome whenever! And they haven’t talked about taking the next step and living together yet, but sometimes it feels like they already are?)
—wearing black leggings and Kara’s well-loved, gray National City University sweater (her favorite thing to steal and wear, and not-so-secretly Kara’s favorite thing to see her in). The thick glasses she trades her contacts for once she’s in for the night are perched on her nose, her hair is in a messy bun, and her lower lip is caught between her perfect teeth before she smiles a million-watt smile, even though it’s just Kara.
The hamster in Kara’s brain stalls out and gets flung around its wheel. Kara loses all brain function and just stares at Lena because, well, that can't be right. How does someone just look like that?
“Baby,” Lena says, an amused twinkle in her eye. "You’re gonna catch flies if you don’t pick your jaw up off the floor.”
It takes a couple long seconds before Kara’s brain hamster starts running again, but once it does, she nods quickly, shuts her mouth, and steps into their apartment.
And then she doesn’t really stop moving in, barely pausing to take her shoes off. She just toes off one shoe and then the other as she continues forward to wrap Lena up in her arms and press her into the couch cushions.
And maybe that isn’t the best defense for Kara not obsessing over Lena’s clothes since Kara really likes seeing Lena in that sweater, but it’s- it’s not about the sweater. It’s about the fact that it’s Lena wearing it, looking soft and warm and pretty.
It’s always about how unbelievably pretty Lena is.
So when Kara picks Lena up for a movie date on a rare occasion where she isn't already at Kara’s apartment and the penthouse elevator doors open to reveal Lena wearing a dark gray, off-the-shoulder sweater French-tucked into denim cut-offs and black thigh-high stockings, she crushes her phone to dust.
Not because of the way the stocking fabric seems to cling like spidersilk to Lena’s thighs. Not because of the sliver of skin that's visible in the gap between stocking and shorts and how it makes Kara want to run her tongue along Lena's legs and slowly peel them off.
It's none of those things, honest. She could be wearing a potato sack and Kara would still lose her mind because she’s just that devastatingly gorgeous.
“Buhhh,” Kara says, before she starts to step off the elevator, intent on pressing Lena against the nearest surface to touch her lovely thighs—and maybe some other things too—but Lena stops her with a hand on her chest.
She tuts, then says, “I know that look, Kara, and you are not getting off this elevator. Movie, remember? At the theater you love because it’s got reclining seats and actual food you can order?”
Kara frowns because Lena’s thighs are right there and the couch and kitchen counter are also right there, and they've got a half hour of previews before the movie starts so they might manage to not be (too) late… but then she sighs because, damn it, she does love that theater. And she actually enjoys watching previews.
Lena smiles when she sees the result of her internal debate settle on her face.
“That’s what I thought," she says, stepping into the elevator. “Come on, you horndog, take me to the movies.”
And before Kara can even open her mouth to let out an affronted noise at being called a horndog, Lena leans up to press a kiss to the corner of her mouth and Kara forgets why she was feeling affronted in the first place.
“We also need to get you a new phone, I see,” Lena says, staring at the phone guts on the floor.
Kara flushes and wipes the remnants of shattered phone dust off her hand before reaching out to intertwine their fingers.
“Sorry,” she mumbles, squeezing her hand and nodding at Lena's socks. “I wasn’t expecting those.”
"My legs?"
"Wh No. Your, uh. Those, thigh... sock… things," Kara finishes weakly before noticing the twinkle of laughter in Lena's eyes. "Oh. You're pulling my leg."
"Just a bit, sorry," Lena says, sounding absolutely not-sorry.
"You!" Kara pivots and wraps her arms around Lena's waist to pull her close, blowing a raspberry into her neck just as she digs her fingers into her sides and starts tickling her.
Lena shrieks with laughter and attempts to squirm away but Kara holds her fast, keeping her revenge-tickle up for a little longer before granting her reprieve. She drops her hands to mold them to Lena's hips and nuzzles affectionately at her neck with a contented hum.
"Love you," she says, muffled by the way she's got her nose and mouth squished against Lena's skin.
"Love you," Lena returns softly, reaching up to scratch lightly at her scalp.
Kara leans into her hand, enjoying the feeling of her fingers in her hair, but then Lena's shoulders start shaking with laughter.
"What?" Kara asks, pulling her head back to look at Lena. "What's so funny?"
"We didn't push the button," she says, gently rapping her knuckles against Kara's head and reaching out to press the button for the lobby. "We've been standing in a stationary elevator."
Kara barks out a short laugh as the elevator finally starts its descent. "Okay, well I was distracted. What's your excuse?"
"I was distracted by you being distracted!"
"You can't play that card, that's the one I played. You're just copying my answer!"
Lena sticks her tongue out at her and the swell of affection Kara feels is so strong that she has no choice but to dip forward to kiss her cheek, grinning so hard that the kiss is more teeth than lip. She pulls away after and throws an arm around her shoulders.
"You excited for the movie? I've heard good things. Lots of arm, which I'm sure you'll enjoy," Kara says, bumping her hip against Lena's.
Lena doesn't rise to the bait, however, and leans into her harder, wrapping her arms around Kara's waist.
"I'm just happy we get to go out together today," she says after a moment in one of her softest, sweetest voices. "It feels like we've both been so busy lately and I've missed you."
And that's just—
"Not fair," Kara blurts, before she can stop it from slipping out.
Lena can't just admit that while she’s wearing what she's wearing and expect Kara to not be incredibly affected by it, to not want to just say to hell with the movie and stay in and cuddle and kiss and touch a lot. Kara's only alien.
"What's not fair?" Lena asks, brow furrowed.
"It's— You can't say something that sweet, looking that good. It's not fair. I'm trying to take you on a date but you're making it hard for me to not push you up against the nearest surface," Kara pouts.
Lena hums in thought.
"Is that so… Thigh-highs, huh?” she muses quietly.
And maybe Kara should have recognized the tone of her voice. It's the one she uses when she's happened across something incredibly interesting and is secreting the knowledge away for later, the one usually accompanied by a cat-that-got-the-cream glitter in her eye, but Kara doesn't notice it because she's subtly trying to admire Lena’s legs.
In fact, she doesn't notice a lot of things.
Like how Lena adjusts her thigh-highs deliberately slowly when she gets out of the car, slipping her thumbs just under the elastic to smooth out the band, fingers splaying and brushing across soft fabric as she drags her thumbs until they meet behind her thigh and then back around again. (Which ultimately brings Kara's attention back to the way they cling, and her hands twitch involuntarily as she imagines slipping her own thumbs under the elastic to tease the skin underneath.)
Like how Lena keeps crossing and uncrossing her legs when they lean back in their reclined seat. (And it’s not even that big a deal, but her thighs keep squishing together and they look so soft.)
Like how Lena pillows her head on Kara’s shoulder and slings her stockinged legs across Kara's lap when they inevitably cuddle up together, an open invitation for Kara to touch them. (So touch she does, trailing her fingers indulgently over and over along the tempting sliver of skin that had captivated her before.)
Needless to say, Kara is distracted during the movie. Distracted to the point she doesn't even order food. Lena’s soft noises and the slightly elevated rate of her pulse as Kara touches her thighs are much more interesting to listen to than whatever’s being said on-screen, her thighs much more interesting to touch than theater food.
She does her best to keep the touching family-friendly, never veering too high and mostly keeping her fingers to the top and outside of her thighs, but can’t help but stray a little towards the end of the movie.
But then Lena shuffles and squeezes her thighs together, effectively trapping Kara’s hand where it is, with the added bonus of providing a little pressure between her legs. At least, that’s what Kara presumes since she lets out a quiet whine and leans into her harder. And she’s not about to be inappropriate with Lena in a movie theater, but… there’s nothing wrong with a little teasing, right?
Clearly not, as Lena squirms again and reaches out to stroke at the skin of Kara’s forearm, relaxing her thighs so Kara can move her hand again.
“Keep going,” she murmurs, voice quiet even though the loud movie theater audio makes her inaudible to anyone else.
Kara hears her loud and clear.
She starts tracing little swirls along Lena's inner thigh again, hyperfocused on the way each stroke coaxes out a slightly different noise. After a while, she grows bold, slipping her fingers just under the elastic of Lena's thigh-highs then dragging them up until she can slide them beneath the hem of her shorts.
Lena makes a sound low in her throat and her fingers press into Kara's forearm, not painfully, but with enough pressure to spur her on.
And, here’s the thing: Kara really isn’t touching Lena with sexual intent. She’s just a tactile person and loves the feel of Lena’s skin under her fingertips, and Lena has stated on more than one occasion how she doesn’t mind it, that she actually finds it incredibly comforting when Kara touches her absent-mindedly. So this isn’t— Kara isn’t running her fingers all over Lena’s thighs because she’s trying to turn either of them on.
(Especially not in a movie theater.)
But she can’t deny that that’s exactly what’s happening to her right now. She feels restless. Tingly, sparking heat lances through her body as Lena squirms and sighs against her, all because she's lightly trailing her fingers over the skin of her thighs.
Lena squeezes her legs together again briefly, and bites at her lower lip.
“Is the movie over yet?” she mutters, before subtly rolling her hips up as much as she can with the way her legs are angled over Kara’s thighs, causing Kara’s fingers to slip the slightest bit higher.
"Yeah," Kara says, not even looking at the movie screen. She hasn't paid attention to the movie at all, really, not since Lena put her legs in Kara's lap and let her touch them.
"It totally isn't," Lena says breathily, mouth quirking up. She shifts again, sitting up slightly so she can comfortably nuzzle into Kara's neck, and the press of Lena's soft lips against the skin of her neck has her jerking her hips up with a stifled groan.
"It isn't," she agrees, voice strained as she grips at Lena's thigh and struggles to keep from bucking again. "But it should be. Are movies usually this long? They shouldn't be this long. The movie should be over. It's illegal to keep us here like this."
And apparently that's funny, because Lena muffles her laugh into her neck, sort of. That's what Kara thinks she does? It's like she was gonna lick up her neck but got sidetracked when Kara said something amazingly witty, because what she does instead is open her mouth and press her tongue against her, slippery wet, and laugh just like that. Her breath gusts out in warm little puffs around her tongue and a shiver runs up Kara's back. An insistent throb starts up between her legs, and Lena knows that her neck is a weak spot, so the fact that she's doing that is very illegal.
Lena takes pity on her when she whines unhappily and pulls her tongue back into her mouth before rubbing her smile against her neck apologetically.
"There's… nothing actually keeping us here, you know," Lena says. "We can go anytime we want, if we so choose."
Kara’s hand twitches where she’s resting it against Lena’s thigh.
“We could, couldn’t we?” she says, but then she shakes her head because, Nope, no. She refuses to be the couple that walks out of what's probably a really good movie because they couldn't go two hours without touching each other.
Lena tilts her head up to kiss just under her jaw, sensing her resolve.
“But we’re not going to,” she supplies.
“Nah,” Kara says, turning to press her lips gently to Lena’s forehead. “This is a date, and I’m a gentleman."
The irony of that statement is not lost on them, what with the hand she still has between Lena's thighs, but Kara keeps her hand still and they manage to behave for the rest of the movie.
"Wow, what a movie!" Kara says, swinging Lena's hand exuberantly as they exit the theater half an hour later.
"I have absolutely no clue what happened," Lena admits.
"Neither do I!" Kara says happily, taking the opportunity granted by the upswing of their joined hands to press a kiss to Lena’s thumb. “I’m starving, let’s get something to eat.”
Lena rolls her eyes good-naturedly and allows herself to be led back to the car.
"I thought- I thought we were going to stop somewhere to eat?" Lena asks breathlessly, back arching.
"Mm, yeah," Kara says, popping her head up from where she'd been sucking a hickey to the side of Lena's breast. She continues plucking at the hard nipple of her other breast, tugging lightly at her piercing as she admires how attractive Lena looks with her bra and sweater rucked high on her chest, ribs expanding with every gasping breath she takes, dark red hickeys splotching across her flushed skin. Beautiful.
She dips her head to lick out against one of the purpling bruises, almost forgetting herself in the taste and feel of Lena's skin again before she tears herself away and pats her on the nipple.
"Chop chop!" she says lightly, patting the other nipple for symmetry's sake. "Put your clothes on, baby. I'm hungry."
"Oh my god…" Lena says, wrestling her bra and sweater back down as she sits up and nudges Kara upright. "Did you just pat my nipples?"
"Sure did! They’re my favorite. The absolute loveliest."
Lena sighs a long-suffering sigh and puts her hands on the shoulders of the front seats to haul herself into the passenger seat. Kara lets out a pleased noise, enjoying the way Lena’s thighs look flexing against her stockings as she moves back into the front of the car, then follows suit, giving Lena a quick peck on the lips before relocating her car keys and starting the ignition.
“Okay, food for realsies this time,” she says brightly, placing her hand high on Lena’s thigh.
Lena’s breath hitches and Kara decides that they’re getting fast food.
Lena smacks Kara’s hands away and Kara whines unhappily.
“No,” Lena says. "You’re not touching me with burger hands. Wash those first.”
Kara frowns bigly. She can feel how big and frowny it is, the corners of her mouth dragging down towards the ground like they’re physically weighed down by her disappointment and sadness, and she hopes Lena feels at least a little sorry for putting such a big frown on her face.
“But Lenaaa,” she tries.
“No ‘buts’, Kara,” Lena retorts, batting Kara’s wandering hands away again.
“I would've behaved,” Kara grumbles, pouting as she gets up off the couch to go wash her hands and throw their wrappers away. “Just wanted to kiss you a little.”
She can hear Lena snort from the living room, even over the sound of running water and her furious hand-scrubbing.
“It’s never just ‘kissing a little’, baby. We both know that.”
Kara grins. It’s not her fault Lena is so sensitive and makes the absolute sweetest noises for her.
She dries her hands and zips back out, plopping down on the couch with her hands out for Lena to inspect.
“I’m clean, I’m clean I’m clean I’m clean, can I please kiss you now?” she asks, batting her eyelashes.
Lena pretends to consider, but Kara can see the twinkle in her eye that means she’s already won. Even still, she turns Kara’s hands this way and that, taking her fingers between her own and stroking up and down their length with an appreciative sound, rubbing at the delicate webbing between them, trying and failing to bite back a smile as Kara goes quiet quiet at her indulgent ministrations.
“Okay, yeah,” she eventually breathes, when Kara swears Lena must be able to feel her pulse in her fingertips. “You can kiss me.”
Kara surges forward, linking their fingers together and pulling Lena’s arms above her head as she pushes her back into the couch cushions.
Lena lets out a surprised squeak, but Kara can see her pupils dilating as she licks wet wet wet at her red lips.
Kara leans in, stopping just before they touch. “I’m gonna kiss you now,” she whispers, feeling the phantom brush of Lena’s lips against hers.
“Mhm,” Lena breathes, thighs squeezing together. "Yes, please."
Kara smiles and closes the last bit of distance between them, sighing happily when she finally feels Lena's lips under hers, feels the tiny, shuddering breath she lets out as she sweetly parts her lips for Kara to lick in.
It always makes Kara feel like a million fireflies are lighting up inside her when she kisses Lena, like all the love she's got amalgamates and brightens her up from the inside out, until she feels like all that giddy, loving light is escaping from her pores. Even sitting out in the sun for a couple hours doesn’t make her feel as brilliant as one kiss from Lena does.
Kara slides her tongue slowly, wetly, against Lena's and her answering throaty moan makes Kara's head spin so hard her hips shudder helplessly downwards. But that only makes Lena jerk against the way Kara’s hands are keeping hers pinned to the cushions and roll her hips up and suck at Kara’s tongue like a lollipop.
Kara groans and humps into her again, and again, trying to keep her head from flying off, trying to not be really, embarrassingly close already even though they’re both still fully dressed and all Lena’s doing is sucking on her tongue.
But the pressure and wet suction of Lena’s mouth; the slick slide of her tongue; the little, hungry noises she makes as she tugs and tugs and tugs like she’s trying to take Kara as deep as she can to show how devoted she is, how ready she is, how good she is—
It all drives Kara absolutely wild because she's just so perfect.
Kara pulls away with a gasp, pressing their foreheads together, breath mingling hot and damp in the space between them, hips still mindlessly rocking down to meet Lena’s as she pants.
“H- hold on, sorry,” she says, flushing when it comes out way more breathless than she intends.
Lena nods patiently, turning her head and nuzzling at Kara’s cheek while she waits for her to calm down.
“You’re not even the one who got felt up at the theater, baby,” she muses quietly.
Kara nods, because, yeah, she’s not wrong about that. But, god.
She breathes in through her nose and holds it for three beats, attempting to Calm Down even as she makes no effort to actually stop the way she's grinding into Lena.
Eventually, once she can think past the pleasure slinging low in her hips, she tilts her head to fit their lips together again in a soft brush of lip against lip. It's a chaste kiss, but Kara still sinks into it, releasing one of Lena's hands to palm at her breast.
Lena eagerly arches under her and Kara swallows the breathy sound she makes, resolving to get her act together. Lena's been so, so good—so patient even with Kara's hands all over her—and she deserves to feel good twenty minutes ago. So, she brushes her thumb across Lena's breast, feeling for her nipple through her sweater and bra and humming happily when she finds the ball bearings of her piercing.
Lena lets out a desperate little noise, legs falling open as much as the couch allows. Kara smiles against her lips, sliding her hand further down until she can press the heel of her palm up between her legs.
Lena's foot drops to the floor with a soft thump and she uses the leverage to roll her hips into Kara's hand with a quiet whimper.
"Please," she whispers and Kara feels her neck grow hot.
"Okay, baby."
She unbuttons Lena's shorts and slowly drags the zipper down, listening for the hitch in her breathing.
Lena doesn't disappoint—she never disappoints—breath stuttering out when Kara eases her hand down the front of her shorts and presses two fingers up against the damp fabric of her underwear.
"Cute," Kara murmurs, and Lena squirms beneath her, cheeks flushed, back arching to push her breast more fully into Kara's palm. It's so lovely—Lena's so lovely—that Kara has no choice but to stroke along the patch of wet for a while longer, just to draw it out, before finally pulling away to slip her hand back down past the waistband of her underwear and rub the pads of her fingers directly over Lena's swollen clit.
Lena whines, teeth sinking into a kiss-bruised lip, pleading eyes flitting over Kara's face, searching, entreating.
Kara circles Lena's clit a couple more times before pushing lower, fingertips nudging at her entrance and drenching in her excitement, lifting her other hand to cup her cheek.
Lena releases her lower lip with a shaky sigh and Kara skims her thumb over it.
"Kara," Lena says, all air, lips brushing at her thumb, hips jogging up into her other hand, and Kara just grins because she knows. Slips her thumb past parted lips, rocks in in in until she's filled Lena up with two fingers in her cunt and a thumb in her mouth, until Lena's eyes are rolling back as she shudders and clenches and sucks.
"Fuck, you're good," Kara rasps, and Lena tightens around the fingers inside her, whimpering around the thumb pressing at her tongue.
Kara leans in to pepper Lena's face with tiny kisses. "Let me know when you're ready," she mumbles, nosing at a warm cheek.
Lena immediately lifts her hips to meet her hand, tongue slicking wet and greedy against her thumb, letting Kara know she's ready ready.
The breath gusts right out of her when Kara pulls her fingers out and thrusts back in again, a shuddering gasp tearing from her throat as she eagerly takes the stretch. She's hot and eager, and the insistent tug of her cunt every time Kara presses in and bumps at her throbbing clit reveals just how close she is already, just how long she's been patiently waiting on the razor's edge for Kara to take care of her.
"You've been so good, haven't you?" Kara asks.
Lena clenches hard, teeth closing around Kara's thumb. "Please," she whimpers, although it sounds more like 'leazhe with her mouth filled as it is.
"You've been such a good girl for me, haven't you?" Kara says again, punctuating her words by thrusting with extra force.
"Kara—"
"I want to hear it from your lips, baby." Kara leans in to kiss the corner of her mouth, then speaks her next words into her flushed cheek. "I want you to tell me how good you've been while I'm filling you up."
"Fuck," Lena gasps, eyes glassy, back arching higher with every hint of pressure against her clit. "'ve been so good for you. Please, please— I've been a good girl. Been good. I—"
She chokes off with a whine when Kara curls her fingers on a particularly heavy thrust, palm mashing against her clit.
"Yeah, you have," Kara agrees. "You're always so sweet."
A sympathetic shiver ripples through her when Lena recklessly jerks her hips up again, trying to get closer, to take her fingers deeper.
“Bet you'll sound extra sweet when you come for me."
Lena lets out a desperate, hiccuping moan. Then, with her tongue dragging against the thumb in her mouth, it only takes a few more deep strokes for her to fall apart on Kara's fingers, thighs clamping tight and cunt clenching rhythmically as her teeth dig into Kara's thumb.
"There you go, baby. You did so well," Kara murmurs, leaning in and pressing her smile to Lena's sweat-damp temple when she tightens around her fingers. "You're perfect."
She waits for Lena's breathing to even out and for the clenching of her body to slow to light flutters before she frees her thumb and eases her fingers out, prompting a quiet hitching breath. She wipes them on her underwear as best she can with the awkward angle then pulls her hand out of her shorts.
Lena's cheeks are flushed, her hair's all over the place, her nose and forehead are shiny with exertion, and she's beautiful.
"I love you," Kara says, kissing the tip of Lena's sweaty nose.
"Mm," Lena hums drowsily. "Love you, too."
"Gonna fall asleep on me?" Kara asks, nudging her smile against the apple of her cheek.
"Under you, yeah."
Kara laughs and snags a blanket off the arm of the couch behind Lena's head. She throws it over them, then carefully drapes herself over Lena, smiling when she snakes her arms up to wrap low around her waist.
"Who needs a weighted blankie when you've got Supergirl," Kara says.
Lena huffs out a quiet laugh and squeezes her tight.
---
Kara sort of forgets about how much she loves seeing Lena in thigh-high stockings.
Lena looks good in anything—and in absolutely nothing, of course—so after that first time, Kara doesn't think about the thigh-highs. It's always lingering there in the back of her mind, but it's just not something she actually, truly, really stops to think about.
It isn't, until it is.
She walks into her bedroom after work on an otherwise ordinary Thursday evening and finds Lena surrounded by lit candles, lying prone in the middle of her bed. Her legs are bent at the knee with her feet up in the air and she's completely naked except for the candy apple-red of her thigh-high stockings.
Kara almost walks right out again, half-convinced she's just walked into the wrong apartment, half-convinced she's fallen asleep at the office and is now having a sex dream.
"Uh, hello?" she says around a dry throat, as good a greeting as any.
Lena smirks at her and licks her lips.
"Hello," she returns. "I've been waiting for you to get back."
"Yeah?"
Lena rolls her eyes, propping her chin up on her palm.
"Yes, baby. I'm lying in bed naked for you. Are you gonna come do something about it?"
Kara stumbles a step further into the bedroom.
"What… what's the occasion?"
Lena pauses, pretending to consider, then drops her hand down on top of the other and presses her cheek to her flat arms.
"Nothing," she says simply, a girlish giggle hiding in her voice. "Just wanted to do something fun on a— What day is it?"
Kara swallows hard and lifts her wrist to look down at her very-analog watch.
"It's…"
Her watch face only tells her it's some time after six so she racks her brain and tries to remember which day the little green marker on her calendar had been under.
"Thursday?" she mostly-guesses.
"Just wanted to do something fun on a Thursday," Lena amends, eyes sparkling with laughter.
Kara drops her messenger bag on the ground and takes another couple of steps until she's standing right next to the bed. She reaches down to tug her button-up out of its tuck. "What did you have in mind?"
"Thought maybe you could put your cock on and I could ride you," Lena says.
Kara goes stock still, fingers going limp around the handful of cotton-blend fabric bunched in her hand, shirt still mostly tucked. The sound of Lena’s voice—lilting and lovely as she says something so filthy that the tips of her ears heat up—makes her shiver with preemptive excitement.
"Okay, yeah," she breathes, redirecting her attention towards undoing her belt.
"Great," Lena says, sitting up and revealing the harness lying next to her, already fitted with a sizable dick. Kara bites the inside of her cheek to hide her smile.
Her wonderful, gorgeous, brilliant, ever-prepared girlfriend.
"C'mere, baby," Lena murmurs, and Kara realizes that her fingers have stalled out again, the extra leather length of her belt looping goofily out of her pants where it's still tucked into her belt loops.
She lets her hands drop limply to her sides, then chews at her lower lip as she watches Lena slowly undo her belt, feeling each tug and yank as Lena nimbly loosens her belt like a teasing stroke against her clit. By the time Lena's fingering the button of her pants with one hand and sliding the zipper down with the other, Kara's already breathing hard, nostrils flaring as she tries to keep her hips from swaying forward into her hands.
Lena only smiles, red lips curling dangerously.
Kara shivers, suddenly noticing just how close her mouth is to her—
"What’re you thinking about, Kara?" Lena asks suddenly, and Kara snaps her eyes up to meet hers, blinking quickly.
"Nothing!"
Lena slides a warm palm up the inside of her thigh until her thumb is nudging lightly between Kara's legs.
"So, not thinking about fucking my mouth?" she asks, voice innocent. It's a direct contrast to the way she rubs her knuckle up against her and Kara almost doubles over.
"Jesus, Lena," she wheezes, and Lena laughs and pulls her hand away.
"I'll behave," Lena says, though they both know she won't. "Now hurry up and take your pants off so I can make you feel good."
Kara stops dallying. She undoes the button on her chinos, shoves them down, and steps out of them. She's about to push her underwear down too when Lena lets out an appreciative sound. She lifts Kara's button-up and has her hold it out of the way, hands finding their way back to her hips and smoothing over her dinosaur-print boxer briefs.
"These're cute," she murmurs. "Soft."
And then she leans forward and nuzzles indulgently at the front of them, hands squeezing at Kara's ass.
Kara's hips shudder reflexively and she bites back a groan, almost certain she can feel the way Lena's rubbing her smile against the front of her boxer briefs.
"H-hey," she doesn't stutter. "Baby…"
Lena simply hums, hands squeezing one last time before sliding up so her fingers can slip just below the band of her underwear. She moves dangerously from nuzzling to hot, open-mouthed kisses and Kara whines, hips pressing forward, blinking hard.
"Hhhey," she tries again, fist clenching around her shirt.
"Hi, hello, hey," Lena says sweetly, smiling up at her. And then she yanks her boxer briefs down and dips in to take her into her mouth, tongue hot and slick against Kara's twitching clit.
"Fuck," Kara gasps, free hand twisting into Lena's soft hair. "Oh fuck."
Lena slides her hands up to cup the back of Kara's thighs and keep her close.
"You’re so hard for me," she mumbles before she goes right back to sucking at her, and Kara feels her soul trying to escape.
She lets her indulge for as long as she can handle it, but the moment the ball of heat in her belly goes from gooey and pliable to a stiff, tensing thing, she has to pull away from Lena's mouth, hips shuddering.
"Sorry," she says, sifting her fingers through the hair at Lena's temple as she tries to ignore the throbbing between her legs. "Sorry, I'm sensitive. Close."
Lena looks up at her with eyes swallowed by pupil, lips and chin and cheeks smeared with wetness. She licks her lips with a pleased noise.
"You wanna come?" she asks, and the sound of her voice, scratchy with want, sends heat dancing up Kara's spine. She barely stifles a needy whine.
"Yeah," she manages. "Yeah, I really wanna. But not like this."
Lena's pretty gray-green eyes flick up to meet hers again and she nods, backing off. She reaches for the harness and passes it to her before leaning back on her hands to watch her step out of the boxers bunched at her ankles and into the harness, eyes flashing appreciatively as she tightens the straps.
The base nudges against her ever so slightly, but more than anything, the solid weight of her cock bobbing between her legs feeling comfortable and sexy and right has Kara swallowing hard.
"All good?" Lena asks, reaching out and gently running a finger along her length.
Kara bites her lip, not quite managing to muffle her moan when she feels that light touch, a shock of pleasure sparking through her. Her hips sway forward, instinctively chasing it, but it’s almost too good fucking into the air like that and she has to suck in a sharp breath and straighten up again.
After another deep bracing breath, Kara nods and crawls onto the bed. She immediately attempts to push Lena down and straddle her, but Lena gently stops her with a hand to her shoulder.
She smiles, red lips curving up.
"I'm on top," she says, voice low as she urges Kara down instead. "I'm riding, remember?"
Kara flops back against the pillows and remembers all right.
Lena straddles her easily, doesn't give her time to breathe, or think, just wraps her fingers around her cock and guides it until the tip of it is sliding between her legs to nudge at her clit.
"Fuck," Lena breathes, and Kara nods in agreement, trying not to buck.
And then Lena drags it back, fits the head to her entrance, and slowly drops onto her.
The first few inches sink in and Kara nearly breaks from the sound of Lena's breath catching high and fluttery in her throat. She forcibly tears her eyes away from the way Lena's thighs are trembling—the way her quads are subtly tensing and relaxing against red fabric as she works to take her—and stares instead at the way her lower lip glistens as she gasps, at the way her pretty eyes go glassy as she pants and slides her hands up under Kara's shirt to brace against her abs.
"Take your time, baby," Kara mumbles. "As slow as you n—"
Lena abruptly rolls her hips down, taking Kara’s entire cock and her breath away with it. She's hot, silken, wanting, and Kara doesn't know if she's ever been more in love.
Lena whimpers, fingers spasming against Kara's abs. She rolls her hips again, slow and shuddery, clit peeking out red and already swollen and begging to be touched.
Kara muffles a groan, ignoring the tension building in her stomach to settle her thumb over it and rub.
Lena jerks with a hitching gasp, pressing down harder into her lap, and Kara almost laughs at her eagerness. She slides her other hand up over the near-sheer fabric of Lena’s stockings, thumbing encouragingly at her inner thigh.
“Good?” she asks, knowing full well what the answer is and wanting to hear it anyway.
Lena whines, flushed all down her chest, which draws Kara’s attention to how adorably hard her nipples are. She lets her gaze linger, admiring the simple beauty of the silver ball bearings nestled to either side of stiff dusky nipples.
“It’s good,” Lena chokes out, thighs flexing as she lifts up and slides back down with a sound so wet it makes Kara’s ears hot. It’s all she can do to keep her thumb working over her clit. “You feel so fucking good like this.”
And then she starts to ride, thigh-highs red as sin and clinging to her soft thighs as she bounces on Kara’s lap, fingers splayed on her stomach for balance as she arches her back and drops her hips harder and harder with every stroke, breath escaping in tiny mewling gasps. She only sounds like that when she’s close, when she feels so good the noises slip right out of her.
Kara groans, the sound of Lena enjoying herself heightening the pleasure she feels.
“Oh god,” she grunts, eyelids fluttering shut when Lena drops and swivels her hips in a figure-eight that almost makes her lose control.
Blunt nails suddenly dig into the skin of her stomach and Lena lets out a disapproving noise, slowing down. “Open your eyes,” she says, voice low but demanding.
Kara forces her eyes open.
“Watch me,” Lena says. “Watch how I take you.”
"Fuck,” Kara whispers, goosebumps rushing to cover her arms.
Lena’s lips curl up dangerously and she picks up the pace again. She doesn’t give Kara a chance to rest, to pull herself together, to back up from the edge she’s so close to tumbling over. Just settles right back into a steady groove.
So Kara watches—dangerously close to coming—as Lena circles her hips in more figure-eights, as she pulls up and leaves a slick, wet trail on her cock before pushing down, cunt lewdly spreading to accommodate her girth.
It's dizzying, mind-melting, to hear and feel and watch Lena fucking herself.
"You're so— you're so pretty, baby," Kara says hoarsely.
Lena drops into her lap with a whine and this time it's too much and too good. The pressure between her legs finally tips over the edge of manageable.
"Fuck," Kara grits out behind clenched teeth, vision blurring, hot pleasure beginning to spill from the full reservoir in her belly. "Gonna come."
Lena moans, clit twitching against Kara's thumb, which has somehow, magically, more-or-less stayed put this whole time.
"Want you to come," she gasps, rocking in Kara's lap now, keeping her fully inside as she eagerly presses her clit to Kara's thumb. "Feels so good, want you to come."
She's so sweet, so perfect as she grinds down. Kara barely manages to nod before she spasms, body shuddering, back arching so hard she lifts Lena up a few inches as she bucks.
The way she drives her hips up to chase that blissful pressure seems to be enough for Lena, too. She lets out a breathy whimper and comes shortly after Kara does, clenching so tight around her cock that she doesn't budge from her lap even as Kara's hips jerk up.
It's euphoric—addicting—and it takes several shaky moments for Kara to regain all her senses, though she keeps slowly and mindlessly fucking into her just to prolong their pleasure.
Lena's arms give out and she collapses onto Kara with a small moan, languidly rolling her hips down as the change in angle shifts the way Kara rests inside her.
"God," Lena rasps where she's tucking her sweaty face to Kara's neck. "Oh my god."
Kara manages to let out a concurring sound, stroking her fingers up and down Lena's sides and enjoying the feeling of her soft warmth permeating her shirt. Her button-up and bra will have to come off eventually, but for now she just wants to lie here, floppy and weak post-orgasm, with her beautiful girlfriend breathing hard on top of her.
"You really like me in these, huh?" Lena pants.
"Sure do. Happy fucking Thursday to me," Kara mumbles, sliding one hand down to squeeze at Lena's ass.
"Mm, god, yeah," Lena says, bringing her own hand up to scratch gently at Kara's scalp.
They lay in contented silence for several minutes, long enough for Kara to start fading into a sated half-doze even with underwire digging into her skin, before she shakes off the sleepy and kisses Lena's head.
"I should shower," she says when Lena lets out a disgruntled noise to tell her she's moving too much.
Lena huffs a sigh but pushes herself upright as Kara sits up with her, causing her dick to shift inside of her again. Lena's breath catches and she bites at her lower lip.
Suddenly, separating for a shower sounds like a very not-good idea to Kara. In a maneuver that she's proud of herself for pulling off, Kara scoots towards the end of the bed with Lena on her lap and stands up. Lena squeaks, wrapping her legs around her waist as Kara smiles gleefully.
"What are you doing?" Lena asks breathlessly, eyes glittering.
"Like I said, need to shower," Kara says, heading off to the bathroom with her cock still buried inside Lena, already thinking about how nicely her moans will echo.
"Wanna see how good these thigh-highs will look on you when they’re wet, pretty baby."
Turns out the thigh-highs, like Lena, look absolutely delectable when wet.
It doesn't come as a surprise when Lena finally, officially moves into Kara's apartment with a whole drawer full of thigh-high socks.

I JUST SAW THIS AND NEEDED IT TO BE ON TUMBLR TOO so let's discuss:
Tumblr media
personally this is the take for me right here:
Tumblr media
and this:
Tumblr media
ok no but fr if there's no kryptonite then kara is unfortunately sweeping bc of the invulnerability to, like, all of the others' attacks AND her superspeed would trounce them all.
unless the sword of protection could cut kryptonian skin? seems like it could. maybe it could also transform into kryptonite? also, isn't shera insanely fast as well, and basically invulnerable?
and maybe the halo can defy kryptonian logic too bc it's literally the manifestation of godlike power? and phasing makes ava essentially invulnerable as well, plus who's to say that the halo couldn't literally explode someone from the inside? but if there's any divinium then she's out, BUT ava already died and was revived by the halo TWICE (@ beginning and also when she fell like 50 ft) so could she ever go down?
i do not think any of korra's attacks could hit kara or shera, unless she could spirit bend them? and would spirit-bending take away their powers? also if korra can bend the spirit energy sizable to a nuclear bomb, would that finally wear through kara's & shera's invulnerability?
ALL have self-healing technically but korra's is the slowest, and they ALL are capable of draining their powers if they fight for too long....
they're all too OP 😭😭😭
okay maybe here:
most powerful attacks/powers:
korra: spirit-bending/bending spirit energy (could spirit bend the other three & remove their powers?)
kara: superspeed-punching them, any of her powers would probably do the others harm
shera: could release the entire destructive power of the universe, could also shift the entirety of reality, also the sword of protection can become anything????
ava: i don't think we have reference for how powerful the halo is, so if it wanted to explode someone, i'm sure it could
most powerful constitution/defense:
korra: as vulnerable as any other human BUT has no inherent weaknesses or vulnerabilities
kara: invulnerable to everything EXCEPT kryptonite
shera: invulnerable ESPECIALLY if she gets a kiss from her cat gf
ava: was resurrected twice (when she gets the halo (after being dead for hours btw!) AND when she falls from like 70 ft), can also phase through any of the others' attacks EXCEPT if divinium is present, she's out

Feast Upon You...✨
Anon: How would Wanda react to someone hitting on her girlfriend? 🔞
Rating/Warnings: NSFW. Public sex, eating out, fingering, jealous Wanda. Pairing: Dom!Wanda MaximoffxSub!Reader Word Count: 1364
This is my first fic so please be nice! Comments and feedback are welcome :)
If you have a prompt, send me an ask! - Kara ✨🌛
Tumblr media
✨Wanda would quite literally freeze on the spot.
✨Walking back from the bar with both of your drinks in her hand, when she spots the jerk putting his arm around your shoulders, she’d quite literally stop moving.
✨And glare directly at the man who is trying to put his moves onto you.
✨The glasses in her hand would creak and groan against her strong grip and Wanda (not so secretly) wills one of them to break, just so she can shove one of the sharp shards through his eye socket.
✨You let out an awkward laugh and try your best to create room in the already enclosed space of the booth.
✨It does little to make a gap between you both; his leering body chasing you, eager to keep you pressed to him.
✨Wanda catches the moment you heave at his smell: a grotesque combination of sweat and stale alcohol filling your nostrils.
✨When you finally glance at your girlfriend, your eyes are full of irritation.
✨That look alone makes Wanda move again; legs moving quickly as she strides towards the two of you.
✨The man doesn’t look from you when she clears her throat, in an attempt to be polite.
✨Or when she slams the two drinks on the table.
✨He barely flinches when Wanda says: “Hey, dickbag.”
✨Instead, he cosies up closer to you, reaching a finger to trace it down your jawbone.
 ✨And mercifully, that’s Wanda’s final straw.
✨Her eyes glow red and it illuminates the dark corner the three of you are in; and finally, that ominous glow catches his attention.
✨“Can I help you?”
✨You can pinpoint the exact second he registers that it’s Wanda Maximoff glowering down at him; not some random stranger.
✨He all but jerks, face paling like a mother’s face in her early weeks of pregnancy, and you can’t help but giggle at that.
✨“Not so cocky now are you?”
✨“I didn’t - "
✨ “Didn’t what? Believe my girlfriend when she said she was waiting for me? I suggest you move. Now.”
✨He falters and that alone makes Wanda’s anger spike.
✨The red consumes her eyes and clouds around her fingers; and the man, lets out a pathetic whimper before his body is thrown from Wanda’s seat and out of the double doors to the bar.
✨Wanda doesn’t even check to see if he’s okay, doesn’t give the blatant stares and whispers a second look, as she grabs you by the arm and all but drags you into the back.
✨Shoving you into the vacant (and mercifully very clean) disabled toilet.
✨Smashing her lips to yours seconds before the door can even fully shut. Wanda not caring if anyone sees.
✨It takes your breath away and you stumble backwards; feet tripping over themselves as Wanda completely takes charge of you, hands gripping the back of your neck so tightly it’s borderline painful.
✨"Who owns you?” She growls as your ass bumps into the small sink on the wall.
 ✨"You do, mommy.”
✨"Such a good girl for me, aren't you, prinzessin? My good girl."
✨"Yes, mommy. I'm yours. Always yours."
✨Her lips move down to your neck and she bares her teeth.
✨It drives Wanda wild, licking and nipping at your skin that is scented with the perfume you always wear.
✨Your head lulls back, eyes rolling shut, a happy sigh escaping your lips.
✨Wanda knows your neck is your weak point, knows that all she has to do it grab it with her hand or bite down with her teeth, are you're nothing but putty in her hands.
✨"Did he hurt you?" she asks.
✨Your brain falters and Wanda nips you, causing you to let out a pained gasp.
✨"I asked a question, baby. Answer it."
✨You force your brain to focus.
✨"I - no, he didn't, mommy."
✨"Are you sure, baby?" Wanda asks as she moves to the other side of your neck. "Waste of space, hitting on what's mine."
✨"I'm sure."
✨She hoists you with little to no warning, picking you up and settling you on the edge of the cupboard as her lips find your own again.
✨"I want to taste you." She tells you, fingers pulling up at your skirt. "And I want you to be loud. Let the whole bar hear you."
✨She goes to yank your panties down but only finds your soft skin instead.
✨Her eyebrow quirks up, a smile pulling at her lips.
✨"No panties this evening, hmm?"
✨You shake your head, blushing slightly.
✨"Naughty, naughty girl." Wanda murmurs. “I’ll have to think of a different trophy to take then, won’t I?”
✨She very slowly drops to her knees between your spread legs and you can feel how wet and needy your pussy is.
✨Wanda’s mouth waters and her tongue pokes out to lick her bottom lip.
✨”I was thinking about taking you to get ice cream after,” she says, planting a kiss on your left inner thigh. “But I think I’d much rather eat you for dessert - what do you think?”
✨And Wanda - your ever crafty girlfriend - waits until you open your mouth to reply before leaning forward and kissing you directly where you ache for her.
✨You let out a strangled sound, one that is on the verge of being just too loud.
✨She kisses you again, wet mouth pressing against your soft lips; doing so until your hands latch into her hair and you try to tug her where you need her the most.
✨Her tongue parts you, your taste filling Wanda’s mouth as she rises higher until she finds your puffy clit with ease; arms worming around your thighs to keep you in place.
✨Her lips close around it and she sucks your clit into her mouth.
✨”Oh fuck.”
✨There’s a dull thud as your head falls back.
✨Wanda’s eyes drift up to look at you and she smirks against you, seeing how your body is already tensing against the mirror behind. Your bottom lip is trapped between your teeth and your eyes are screwed shut.
✨”You’re soaked, darling.” Wanda says, slurping you greedily; a string of your wetness attached to her lips. “I bet I could slip three fingers into you so easily.”
✨She attacks your clit, tongue flicking at it with such a pace that it has you arching.
✨You hate that you’re already so worked up, hate that she edged you for two hours that morning because you refused to drink your water the day before.
✨But you love the stretch as she slowly pushes three of her fingers into you.
✨Love how you clench around her and almost pull her hair from her roots as she curls them just right into you.
✨”There you go, baby.” Wanda bites your thigh again.
✨When she moves her fingers and slams them back into you, her mouth finds your clit again and you moan, toes curling.
✨There is one thing you adore about Wanda, and it’s the use of her hands - no, her fingers. She’s a woman of many talents and her finger work is definitely in the top 3.
✨You’re chanting the word fuck, body coiled tight, and you both know your release is imminent.
✨”You have 5 seconds to cum.” Wanda orders, fingers working in and out of you quickly. “Otherwise I will edge you until next week.”
✨“Shit.”
✨It hits you when she gets to 3, a body trembling orgasm that tears through you violently and leaves you with trembling legs around Wanda’s head.
✨She slurps everything you have to offer, drinking it down as if she was a starving woman and you can’t help but grind your pussy down onto her face; desperate to chase that second high that is just tantalisingly out of reach.
✨And just when you think Wanda is going to grant you another release, she stops.
✨Pulling away and out of you as you let out a mewl of incoherent words.
✨"I’m taking you home and you will be cumming until I decide to stop, understood?”
✨You nod.
✨"My good little slut. Mine."

lena is really *really* into the idea of fucking an alien
sometimes when lena is bored at her desk, on a conference call with the board, listening to her mother emasculate yet another yale-bred, early 20s nepotism hire in the hallway, her mind wanders. meanders, really. it's a lesson in imagination. a practice in her academic deductive reasoning. one of those exercises designed to fight dementia, she's inclined to believe. anyways, she wanders about what it would be like to fuck an alien.
don't be like that. it's not crass. it's a scientific pursuit.
for instance, would it be sexual or asexual reproduction? sexual reproduction would make more sense, and surely the universe is sensible. it would promote genetic diversity. and then, what kind? syngamy or conjugation? fertilization was the most common in multicellular sexual populations, lena has often reasoned. (see, this isn't horny. many of these words put you right to sleep, didn't they?) then there's the types of syngamy, of course: isogamy, heterogamy, and oogamy. but she doesn't really need to get into gametes here. size, number, maintenance. the question she's pondering while jess is listing off her jampacked schedule is how different would an alien's physiology end up being, sexually speaking? would they feel pleasure? that wasn't common on earth. how would fertilization work? penetration? on all fours, perhaps?
hm. or would none of that even matter? would it be purely for the experience of interspecies connection? of finding common ground with a creature so distinct from you, it could almost be argued as a matter of say, quantum entanglement. no matter how many stars separated you, here you were. touching. looking. intertwining. two materials from totally different galaxies, the products of millions of years of formation, evolution, coming, coming together as one.
"mrs. luthor?" the tentative voice of her assistant rings out.
lena drops her pen to her desk. she'd been absentmindedly doodling. it's the super crest.
hm.
"kara danvers is here to see you."
"send her up," lena replies, careful in her tone, swiveling her chair towards the blinding windows of her office. up towards the sky, the heavens and far beyond.
if only someone, someone she knew personally, an alien, would be so inclined as to humor her questions. or even a physical demonstration, perhaps? was that really so hard?

Alt Assistant AU #3
The moment an aggressive investor gets into Lena's face, Kara immediately squares up. One moment she's discreetly taking notes for the meeting, and the next she's staring down a pompous middle aged man in an overpriced suit. Her rage simmers, and though he sees it and momentarily quails, he stubbornly keeps up the front.
"Sit down, Mr. Ferber," Lena says smoothly.
Despite the even cadence of her boss's voice, Kara can hear the displeasure behind the words. Not for the man who moved to intimidate her, but for Kara, who had unwittingly undermined Lena's ability to handle herself under fire.
Kara almost feels bad about it.
Sure enough, after the meeting concludes, Lena leads the way back to her office with a low "my office, now" as she passes.
Following obediently, Kara braces herself as the door swings shut behind her. But instead of the rage she expects, Lena's temper is ice cold.
"Do that again," she says, her words shapr and precise, "and you will no longer have a position at LuthorCorp. Do you understand me?"
Kara, for the first time in ages, fiddles with her glasses. "Understood."
"Get out."
She immediately slips out of the room, feeling the sting of the reprimand for the rest of the afternoon.
It turns to anger as the sun dips below the horizon, and after Lena's final meeting heads towards the elevator, Kara barely waits for the doors to slide shut before she slips into Lena's office to brief her on the next day's meetings.
"I'm not going to stand by and watch some asshole lay his hands on you," she says with an edge in her voice. "Fire me all you want."
"You overestimate Ferber's mettle, Ms. Danvers."
"And you underestimate the lengths they'll go to remind you that you're lesser than them."
"Nor do I need to list off my qualifications to defend myself--"
"Lena--"
"Additionally, I would have thought you'd be pleased to see someone knock me down a peg."
The accusation nearly knocks Kara off her feet. It hits her in the chest, making her stomach drop out from under her.
"Whatever I've said to you in the past," Kara clips out before the lump in her throat strangles her, "I would never wish harm on anyone. Let alone you."
"Could've fooled me."
In an instant, Kara has crossed the invisible boundary of the Lena's desk between them, taking Lena's wrist in a firm, assured grip.
"Then I was wrong," she delivers, her voice a thrum in her chest. "And an idiot."
Lena shoots a shocked glance down at Kara's hand, then flashes her gaze up to meet Kara's. The air suddenly thickens, charged with something unspoken at their sudden proximity.
Instead of pulling away, Kara leans in.
"There are some things I am willing to risk in this universe," she says. "You are not one of them."
She remains there, holding Lena's gaze for a long moment before finally letting her hand slip away.
"Have a good night, Miss Luthor."

wouldn’t it be beautiful if there was a fic where kara would lose her memory and instead of being the number 1 lena luthor defender who has devoted her existence in making sure everyone knows lena is a good person kara would become the very same people she used to defend lena over. kara's judgment on lena would be base on her last name and nothing else. because she would forget seeing lena testify against her own brother during the trial all she would know of lena is that shares the same last name with the man that repeatedly tried to kill her cousin. the whole time this is happening, lena is still very much mad at supergirl or kara about the whole lying thing so mad that she might have been one of the reason why kara lost her memory however now with kara having no memory of her she feels like its pointless to be mad at someone who doesn’t even remember lying to you, who doesn’t even know who she is. so she puts her anger on a shelf and offers to help alex out. she doesn’t understand why she feels the need to help supergirl, her lying manipulative two faced ex-bestfriend but she does anyway. of course she does because she's lena luthor and she doesn't have to explain herself to anyone. she convinces herself that its because alex is asking for help. because its the right thing to do (not that she'd really cared about what's right or wrong every since their fallout with supergirl) but still. alex of all people is asking her for help which means its bad bad. alex who feels helpless and hopeless because kara is back to her old insecure self. she doesn’t even remember being supergirl and because she doesn’t remember saving alex from the plane kara doesn’t feel the need to become supergirl. she has no memory of being a superhero and she's very much content of being cat grant's assistant and nothing more. everything is overwhelming for her. alex just wants her sister to be okay. lena just wants to back at being mad again. sam is just in here for the ride and is very amused about the whole situation. its a mess and now alex is asking for lena's help because she has wasted countless deo resources but nothing is helping. Not that Kara is being any much of help because Kara feels overwhelmed and Kara just wants things to go back to how she remembers it. She doesn't want to accept the changes alex keeps on telling her and alex knows if there is one person that could bring kara's memory back — bring her sister back that would be lena.
but the thing is, kara doesn't like the idea of being close to a luthor. she doesn't even understand why out of all people alex would trust with their situation, it had to be lena luthor. now every time alex would bring lena up, she feels like she has to defend lena nonestop from kara's relentless accusations. talk about major irony. Kara has been nothing but:
"Why are you trusting her?! She's a Luthor?! What makes her so special??"
"They're evil, right? What if this is all some plot she has to kill me?!"
This feels like a huge slap in the face for alex but she carries on, exhausted she explains:
"Yes, majority of the luthors are still bad but she isn't"
"I dont know why she's different, okay? She just is"
this was so much easier when alex was doing all the accusing but she pushes forward
"We trust her. Yes, I trust her. You trusted her too, yknow?"
"Yes, I dont always trust your judgement but she's a good person. How do I know that? I don't know!! Will you just let her prick you with a kryptonite needle so we can go on with our lives!?!"
"why does she have kryptonite? she made it— its not that bad, i promise! she’s just super smart! stop floating away and come back here!”
what a mess would that be kara doesn’t even want to touch lena with a 10 foot pole. its very to hard catch an alien when she super speeds every chance she gets whenever she feels lena is close by. its frustrating and its taking longer than it should have. everyone feels like they're wasting time and should just accept this as how it is. the entire national city is looking for supergirl. she's been missing for months now. all while lena, lena takes it all in like a champ but deep down lena luthor is still mad. scorching hot mad. how dare kara forget every pain she has caused lena and is now actively avoiding her?! how dare this superhero just ups and leaves and stop being a superhero?! how dare her give up when lena hasn't even decided on her revenge for the years of deceit. its so unfair. its not suppose to hurt. she should be happy that kara doesn't remember her at all. this was what she wanted with myriad. a clean slate but why does it make her heart ache everytime kara tells her she's a luthor with so much distain. this was what she wanted, right? this would have made it easier for her to forget having feelings for her bestfriend but why does lena find herself trying to recreate every lunch date she has with kara danvers? so much so she brings her her favorite food whenever they stay in the same room. offers her snacks she knows she cant resist. kara doesn't understand why lena is being so nice. she still doesn't trust her but it makes her curious why lena's heart always beats differently whenever she's around. why lena looks at her the way she does. as if kara has stolen a piece of her heart. and kara doesnt understand whenever she eats her favorite food, all she thinks of is lena's shy smile whenever she accepts her takeout. whenever kara lets her touch her to examine her and its just a mess can someone please just...

Shelter
Pairing: Alessia x Leah x Pet!reader
With most of Arsenal rescuing pets, Leah and Alessia get talked into saving a traumatized pet from a shelter.
Warnings: This work includes Pet!play, and has themes of trauma and trafficking though nothing is explicitly stated. There will also be no sexual activities between the pets and the non-pets. Theres also nothing sexual in this fic. Its kinda cute if i do say so myself.
The univese is based on the Widow au universe found here
This is a side blog because I'm too nervous to post this on my actual blog. Please enjoy and let me know if you have more requests for this universe.
Alessia and Leah had never really considered getting a pet (human or otherwise) until their teammates started rescuing them.
First was Steph and her partner, who rescued a former pleasure kitten, Bella. She was surrendered when her CEO owner upgraded to one of the newer HFeline models with upgraded sexual proclivity when he lost interest in her.
Now she got to spend her days in a far too expensive cat tree, sunning herself and eating exotic treats from around the world.
Next were Viv and Beth who saved an adorable pup named Lady from being a bait dog in a dog fighting ring. Caitlin and Katie soon followed with a hulking retired HK9 named Jax, who begged for scraps at every meal and was a sucker for belly rubs. Kim rescued a bunny, Peaches, from a cosmetic company and Lotte had gotten a pup of her own, Brownie, who was also a pleasurehound for a major network, rejected when he no longer drew high ratings.
Arsenal was slowly becoming a zoo, filled with barks and purrs. Their team group chat had turned into a pet helpline filled with adorable pictures of the shenanigans
And while Leah and Alessia had come to love the new additions to their team, the pair still had… reservations.
Sure, the practice was widespread, and hardly considered controversial. And yes, some people willingly signed up to be pets when they turned 18. But many were surrendered due to debt, chose it over jail or were kidnapped and forced.
It didn’t sit right with them.
Not until they saw how their friends' pets were thriving after being treated properly. Not until they saw that they could offer the ability for pets to choose. The ability to show preference and desires and to have them honored.
Plus, Beth and Viv had made a fair point. Rescuing a pup was different than ordering one from one of the many Labs, Tech Companies or suppliers. It meant taking someone who had been in a crappy situation and offering them a new beginning. One that would be a vast improvement.
They could show them love, and give them dignity, something that was blatantly lacking from the pet trade.
That’s how they ended up at a pet shelter on one of their few Saturdays days of trailing after two attendants, Kara and Lexa, as they introduced them to each pet and gave them a short description of their personalities.
It was a nice way to do it, she thought.
It made each of the pets seem like more than just… objects. It made sure that they found the pet that fit them best. One they would click with.
She also realized it let Kara and Lexa make sure that her and Leah would be good owners.
Kara’s questions were subtle, asking about their jobs, the amount of time they could devote to a pet, what kind of home they lived in and what traits they valued. Lexa was more direct, point blank questioning them about what their plans were, and making sure that both of them agreed that many of the practices in both the pleasure and security sectors were despicable and not to be replicated.
“And who is this?” Alessia asked as they moved on to the next kennel, her fingers trailing along the tall black bars that made up the space.
Kara smiled widely, flipping the lock on the cage door and easing it open. “This is Missy,”
She reached up to scratch behind the kitten's dark hair, as Leah followed her.
“Hello Missy,” The blonde defender said, also reaching to pet the kitten, even as Alessia hovered by the door.
The kitten batted at her hand, trying to catch it, earning a fond smile from the defender. “You’re a spicy one, aren’t you?”
“Missy is quite playful, and absolutely loves attention,” Kara hummed, scratching the kitten under her chin. “And cooking shows, or anything with fish on the screen really,”
“She does prefer elevated spaces,” Lexa added, gesturing toward the tower of platforms the kitten was laying on. “And will get depressed if she has to stay at ground level,”
Alessia made a low noise, as Leah scratched gently behind the kitten’s ear, her eyes wandering down the line of kennels. It wasn’t that she didn’t like the kitten or any of the other pets they had seen, but she hadn’t felt that connection yet.
Still, there were so many kennels left.
It was heartbreaking how many of them were full. How many had little faces pressing against the black bars, trying to attract a potential owner?
All except one down at the very end of the hall.
She tilted back, trying to get a better look at what lay behind the bars, but all she could make out was a blue lump in the corner.
She couldn’t deny the pull she felt towards the cage.
“What about the one down there?” She asked, already stepping towards the dark metal bars at the very end of the hallway.
A pained look crossed Kara’s face as she followed Alessia’s gaze. “She’s one of our newer arrivals,”
“Why is she all alone?” Alessia asked as they passed empty kennels on either side of the ones leading up to the one at the end of the hallway.
“She’s having a hard time adjusting,” Kara explained, as Lexa walked in front of them. Leah trailed after them, looking much less enthusiastic.
The tattooed handler grimaced as they got closer to the cage. “Given her circumstances, she might not be the best fit for first-time owners,”
Leah silently agreed based on the giant orange sign taped to the black bars of your area that read:
Possibly aggressive
Two handlers are required during feeding
“Less, what about Missy? We don’t want-” Leah suggested, catching the forward's arm. Alessia glared over her shoulder, effectively killing any further protests on her tongue.
“The sign is just precautionary,” Kara said as they got closer, pausing at the door of the kennel. “She hasn’t been very interactive since she arrived, and we don’t have a good idea of her temperament yet,”
“And she hasn’t seemed interested in food, or treats, so we require two handlers in case there’s a trigger there we don’t know about yet,” Lexa continued, unhooking her keys from her waistband and with a jingle.
You pressed yourself into the far corner of the kennel at the sound, curling into a tight ball against the white bricks, and hiding your face from the group under a small blue blanket.
Alessia couldn’t stop the coo that left her lips at the sight of your nose just barely peeking out from underneath the small blanket.
“What’s her name?” She asked, shifting closer to the now open door, keeping her voice very soft.
“We don’t know. Her previous owner only identified her by a number, and she hasn’t responded to any that we’ve tried,” Kara explained, her voice going very soft. “The only thing she’s liked since she got here is the blanket,”
As if you understood that they were talking about the thin fabric covering you, your fingers wound tightly on the edge like you thought they would take it away.
All the movement did was shift the blanket to reveal more of your skin, littered with thick lines and yellowing bruises.
“We suspect she was training to be a fighting dog and failed during one of the final checks,” Kara explained softly at their collective intake of breath. “She was in rough shape when they brought her in,”
Leah made a low noise of agreement, her eyes trailing the thick line of gauze that peeked out from the small flannel blanket you had tucked around yourself. It spanned from your too-skinny side, across your ribs, and to your back, where Leah was sure she could count each of your vertebrae.
It made her sick that someone could do this to another creature. “Final checks?”
“They put them with a bait dog to test their prey drive,” Lexa explained, easing the door to your cage open. You made no move to greet them. “From their records and the amount of titanium modifications they made, they thought she would be very… lethal,”
Leah made a low sound in the back of her throat.
She knew about… modifications that people made to pets. The inhumane surgeries were considered upgrades.
It made her sick that not only had you been physically abused, but you had also been surgically altered for someone else’s purposes.
“Viv and Beth’s pup was a bait dog. She's such a tiny thing,” She murmured, thinking of how your scars mirrored those Lady bore.
“They’re purposefully kept weak so the fighting dogs can beat them and gain confidence,” Kara said, stepping just inside the kennel and to the side so they had a clear view of you.
Leah’s nose scrunched, thinking about how sweet and tiny Lady was, always rubbing up against legs and asking for pets and scritches. “Nasty stuff,”
“Indeed,” Kara agreed, crouching and leaning against the bars. You just curled tighter into yourself, shifting the blanket to cover more of your back. It slipped higher, revealing the thick scars on your legs just above your ankles.
The place where your tendons had been cut to prevent you from standing on 2 legs.
Alessia frowned, crouching next to Kara in the kennel entrance. “But she didn’t pass?”
“No. Their notes said her prey drive was too low, and unfortunately, that’s all the information we have besides the condition she was in when their compound was raided,” Lexa sighed, rubbing her forehead. “It appears that they were trying to enhance her hunting instincts with bearings and starvation,”
Alessia hummed, stepping into the cage beside Kara and squatting so she didn’t intimidate you.
“Hey pretty girl,” She said gently.
You peeked up at her, blinking slowly, most of your face still hidden, meeting her blue eyes. She could see the terror in them, masked only by the deepest sense of anguish.
She made a cooing sound. “It must be scary in here, huh?”
A low whimper left your lips, and you shifted towards the door, and Alessia, dragging the blanket with you.
The three women behind Alessia froze, and Lexa and Kara shared a look.
“I think that’s the most I’ve ever seen her move,” Kara murmured, reaching into the fanny pack around her waist and pulling a small slice of sausage out. At the same time, Lexa put one hand on the spray at her hip, and gestured for Leah to get low like Alessia and Kara were with the other.
They didn’t think you would snap, but it was better to be safe than sorry.
She followed Lexa’s instructions, kneeling and placing a gentle hand on Alessia’s shoulder.
“Try this,” The blonde kennel attendant kept her voice low as she passed the piece to Alessia, neither of their eyes leaving your timid form. “We haven’t had much luck getting her to eat, but maybe you can,”
She held the sausage out to you with a flat palm, and all four women held their breath as you scooted forward, and stopped, watching them with wide, terrified eyes.
“It’s ok, sweet one,” Alessia said, her voice soft, reassuring. “You can take it,”
You glanced from the treat to Alessia’s face and back, your nostrils going wide as you sniffed in the new scents, sliding just a bit closer to them.
You didn’t reach for the treat, instead you ducked your head and very gently raised it to touch the back of Alessia’s hand.
She moved slowly, taking the treat with her free hand and flipping her palm over to gently scratch your head.
You practically melted, pressing more of your head into her hand. Her nails ran over your scalp, and a sound that was cross between a purr and a growl fell from your lips.
Leah couldn’t hold in her little awe.
“She’s adorable,” She mumbled, inching towards you and extending a hand to join Alessia’s. She picked a spot just behind your ear, gently stroking the place where your skin and hair met.
You paused as you registered the new sensation, your body contorting like it didn’t know if it wanted to lean in closer or pull away.
“It’s ok. It’s just Leah. She won’t hurt you,” Alessia murmured, though she could tell you didn’t quite believe her.
She gently nudged Leah with her free arm, a silent order to say something that wouldn’t break the tenuous truce you had developed.
“You’re ok,” Leah murmured, gently scratching behind your ear. “Less is right, you are quite cute,”
You made a groaning sound in the back of your throat that was a mix between a grumble and a purr.
It pulled a smile from her lips. “You don’t like being called cute?”
You made the grumbling sound again, shrugging to displace Leah’s hand behind your ear.
The defender chuckled. “I see how it is,”
Alessia dragged her nails more deeply against your scalp, turning your grumble purr into a straight up purr, a wide smile pulled across her lips. “I want her,”
Leah hummed in agreement.
You were clearly attached to Alessia, and she trusted that - despite the large orange sign on your door- that you wouldn’t hurt the forward.
You were just scared and hurt, and you deserved a chance.
“Kara can get you set up in a room so we can fill out some paperwork and go over some of our suggestions, and I’ll get this one set up with a nice new collar and a muzzle,” Lexa said, pushing herself to her feet.
You flinched at the movement, causing the blanket to fall from your back.
“Shh pretty girl,” Alessia soothed you gently. “You’re ok,”
Leah frowned, gesturing towards where you were practically melting at Alessia’s touch. “Why does she need a muzzle? She hasn’t been aggressive,”
A pained expression crossed Kara’s features as she also pushed herself to her feet, more slowly than Lexa had. “The muzzle is just precautionary. We’ve had her isolated since she’s been here, and we don’t want an incident if she gets overwhelmed,”
Leah sighed, she had to agree.
The last thing she wanted was for you to lash out because you got frightened.
“I don’t want to leave her,” Alessia murmured, and you nuzzled deeper into her hand.
She took that as you saying you didn’t want her to leave either, but she knew she had to.
“They’ll only be a few minutes,” Kara promised.
“And I’ll take good care of your pretty girl,” Lexa added, smiling genuinely at them.
Alessia’s fingers dragged through your hair one more time, as she released a long breath.
“I’ll see you in a few minutes alright?” She said, giving your one last scratch before she pulled away.
You pouted as she stood, making a low, upset sound.
“I know,” She repeated. “Just a few minutes, and you get to come home with me and Lee,”
You huffed, turning away from them, grabbing your blanket between your teeth and heading for your little corner.
Alessia frowned, but didn’t stop you.
She knew it would take a lot to earn your trust.
“It’ll be alright,” Lexa said as she closed the door of the kennel. “We’ll come find you guys as soon as I got her all set up,”
OoOoOoO
“She’s had all of her shots, and her medical paperwork is in the file. The first issue we should discuss is her temperament,” Kara began, sliding a stack of papers across the table for them to read, pointing to the first page that listed dietary suggestions. “I would suggest hand feeding. It’ll help her learn to trust you,”
“You said she hasn’t been interested in food,” Leah said, looking down at the page.
Next to likes and dislikes almost nothing was checked. There were no notes.
All except a little star next to the line that read Peanutbutter.
“No,” Kara agreed quickly. “But that could all be down to stress. Variety will be your best friend in the beginning. Stick with finding foods she’ll enjoy first, and then we can worry about meeting her required macros later,”
Alessia nodded, her mind already working through the foods they had in the cabinet and the ones they would need to buy.
The Arsenal meal team had done well to provide the growing zoo within the team with foods that fit their preferences. If they could grill Jax a T-bone steak for lunch every day, then surely they could grill whatever food you latched on to.
It would just be at home they would need to worry about.
“I’m also going to suggest obedience classes,” Kara continued, flipping the packet of papers to show them a flier. “We offer one three times a week that I think would help both of you and your new pup,”
“This is the one Lotte takes Brownie to,” Alessia noted, taking the flier.
Leah hummed. “Beth and Viv took Lady last week too,”
“Friends in class are good,” Kara nodded. “It will help her to be around the same pets, and she should feel more comfortable,”
Alessia and Leah shared a look.
Making you comfortable was their number one priority.
“We’ll be there,” Alessia said, only looking away from her girlfriend when a light knock sounded G the door, and it slowly swung open.
Lexa peeked her head in, before she looked behind her. “Alessia and Leah are in here, don’t you want to say hello?”
They waited another long second, before your face very hesitantly appeared beside Lexa’s leg in the doorway.
“Hey pretty girl, you’re ok,” Alessia said, breaking into a smile.
You perked up considerably at her voice, looking up at Lexa as though you were asking for permission to actually enter the room.
“Go ahead,” Lexa smiled down at you, reaching down to unclip the leash from your collar. “I think they’re excited to see you too,”
You waited a long second before you eased your way into the room, your blue blanket tied around your collar so it fell around your back like a cape.
“Come here sweetheart,” Alessia cooed, drawing your wary eyes away from Lexa and Kara towards her and Leah.
It took you another long second to make your way over to her, gently nudging her leg with your head.
She reached down to scratch the sensitive spot just behind your ear, over where the straps of the leather muzzle landed.
“Are you sure she needs that?” Leah asked, watching you carefully paw the material that covered your mouth.
“It’s just precautionary,” Lexa repeated, taking the seat beside Kara. “She’s not aggressive, but fear can provoke a reaction bite. I would suggest she wear it when you’re going to be around people and other pets, just until she’s socialized and loses that fear response,”
Leah and Alessia shared a hum, though Alessia didn’t look thrilled with the suggestion.
They understood, yes, but it felt… dehumanizing. You were a person after all, despite what you had been conditioned to believe.
At the same time, they both knew they couldn’t risk you biting someone, even out of fear.
“We just need a name for her to complete the paperwork,”  Kara said, flipping the packet to the last page. “You can use pretty girl if you like,”
Leah and Alessia shared another look.
While pretty girl was a nice nickname for you, they had something different in mind for your actual name.
“Let’s go with Y/n,” Leah said, looking back towards Kara and Lexa.
You hummed contentedly at the name, leaning into Alessia’s fingers.
“I think she likes that name,” Alessia cooed, digger her nails under the straps of the muzzle, making sure none of your hair tangled in it.
You made another sound of contentment as Kara finished filling out the papers and slid them to Leah and Alessia.
“Just sign on the dotted line, and she’s all yours,”
It only took them a second to scrawl their signatures on the indicated lines, and then Alex’s was passing them your leash.
“Enjoy your new super pup,” Lexa said, winking at you. “And treat her well,”
“We will,” Leah promised.
They would take care of you, and fix the damage that had been done if it was the last thing they ever did.
OoOoOoO
Getting you back to their apartment had been… interesting.
You had not been thrilled about the chest harness they strapped you into, but you hadn’t minded the car ride, even enjoying it when Alessia opened the back window for you.
It was fine until they pulled up alongside a car that also had a pup in the back. You had pulled away from the window immediately, nearly jumping into the boot of Leah’s jeep before he started barking.
By the time the light changed and Leah eased the car forward, you were shaking like a leaf. It struck both of them as slightly off considering you had been trained to be a fighting dog.
You had been very hesitant as they got you out of the car, your eyes swiveling around as they led you into their apartment and showed you around.
Since then you had been curled up on the soft pet bed they had stationed in the living room, not even letting them close enough to you to remove the muzzle.
They knew it would take time for you to settle. Their friends had all warned them of that already, so they let you be, flipping through channels until they got to a shark documentary that seemed to catch your attention.
Alessia was thankful that the kitchen was connected to the living room so she didn’t have to leave you as she made dinner. Not that she didn’t trust Leah to watch you, but she didn’t want you to think she had disappeared.
The first step to building trust was to show you that they were there, and you were safe.
She stuck with simple foods, chicken and rice, partially because Leah didn’t like anything remotely adventurous and partially because she didn’t know what you would enjoy.
She and Leah ate first, sharing worried looks when you didn’t even patter over at the smell of food.
After their meal was cleaned up, they turned their attention to you.
They started by sitting on the floor in front of their couch, a good distance from your pet bed, with your food bowl.
“Hey pretty girl, are you hungry?” Alessia asked gently, holding the bowl out for you to sniff. “If you come a little closer I can take your muzzle off and you can eat,”
You didn’t lift your head off of hand, or make any move to approach them.
Your nostrils didn’t even flare out to smell the bowl.
It sent red flags spinning in their brains.
They shared a look before Alessia passed the bowl to Leah and scooted closer to you, to the edge of your bed. “Ok pretty girl, will you let me take the muzzle off?”
Your eyes flickered away from shark show and towards the blonde briefly, before your head tilted minutely.
She took that as the ok to reach for the buckle on the leather contraption attached to your face, carefully easing it open and sliding it off of your head.
You yawned wide as soon as it was removed, scrunching your nose adorably.
Alessia passed the leather contraption she never intended to use again back to Leah, and the defender passed her the bowl.
She reached into the bowl and pulled out a piece of chicken, carefully holding it out to you with a flat palm. “Eat for me, pretty girl,”
You huffed.
“Please,” Alessia said, her voice edging on pleading as she offered you the piece again.
You sighed, clearly unhappy, but you leaned forward and took the piece of chicken from her gently, chewing and swallowing.
“Good girl, Y/n,” The forward hummed, reaching into the bowl and pulling out another piece.
You let her feed you a few more bites before you buried your face in your bed, clearly signaling that you were finished with your meal.
Alessia sighed again, looking back at Leah who could only shrug.
She turned back to you and slowly extended her hand, scratching behind your ear. “You can be done,”
You made a groaning noise that sounded like relief.
Leah snorted, pushing herself to her feet and grabbing the half-filled bowl of food from Alessia. “I don’t think I ever per a pet who was happy dinner was over,”
“Y/n is one of a kind,” Alessia agreed, her nails dragging pleasantly against your scalp.
OoOoOoO
Bedtime was relatively easy.
Alessia and Leah went about their normal routines, only adding brushing your teeth and showing you where there was a second bed for you at the base of their bed.
This one had a fluffy red blanket and a stuffed dragon.
You had been… hesitant at first to get into it, looking at the door for the blue bed that existed in the living room.
You chose to sit just in front of it, curling in a little ball that didn’t look comfortable, and draping your favorite blue blanket around you. (Alessia longed to fix it since it was bunched and only covered half of your body).
Again, Leah and Alessia let you be.
Lights were turned off as a stupid show played on the television as all three of you wound down, and before you knew it, a silence had settled over the room. It was broken only by the sounds of breathing and the occasional shift on the bed.
It was… uncomfortable.
You weren’t used to it being so… quiet.
You were used to the sounds of barks, and chain link shifting lulling you to sleep. You were used to a corner you could curl up in.
You weren’t used to a bed, and you wanted to lay in it but you were sure it was a… trap.
Just like you had thought the chicken Alessia tried to feed you was a trap.
It had always been a trap before.
You huffed, shifting next to the pet bed.
Maybe if you slept in it, but woke up before the two women who had adopted you, you would be safe.
It was soft, and you would be warm.
You shifted again, freezing at the sound of someone moving from on the bed permeated the room.
You had woken them up, and now the other shoe would finally fall.
You curled tighter into yourself and waited for the pain that never came.
Instead, there were only soft footsteps.
“Trouble sleeping?”
Your eyes blinked open at Leah’s soft question, meeting her blue eyes in the low light of the television.
You nodded hesitantly.
“Me neither,” Leah agreed. “Let’s go get a midnight snack,”
You padded after the defender as she headed towards the kitchen, stopping by the island near the stove as she headed for the cabinet by the fridge.
She grabbed a brown jar with a teal lid, setting it on the counter before rummaging around in the drawer below.
“Ah ha,” She cheered, holding up a spoon victoriously, grabbing the Jar, and turning to face you.
Your head tilted to the side at the object.
“I think you’ll like this,” She said, unscrewing the top and dipping in the spoon.
When she pulled it out, the most delicious-smelling substance you had ever encountered coated it.
You watched with rapt attention as the spoon disappeared into her mouth and came out clean.
Your mouth watered.
“Peanut butter?” Leah asked, tilting the jar your way.
Your head tilted, and you just barely leaned forward on your knuckles as your nose flared, trying to catch more of the scent.
Leah’s lips tilted up at how adorable you looked, as she dipped the spoon back in the jar and then held it out for you. It was just out of your reach, closer to her than you had ventured yet.
You had an immediate connection with Alessia but were still incredibly wary of her for some reason, she tried not to let it bother her.
You were hesitant to take the step forward.
But it smelled so good.
Your tummy rumbled, and your tongue darted across your lips.
Leah stayed perfectly still, watching you with bated breath. She knew this was the only way to build trust with you. To show you that they wouldn’t hurt you.
You very slowly took a step, tilting your head towards the offered treat, your eyes moving rapidly between her and the spoon.
Your tongue carefully made its way between your lips and licked the spoon.
Your eyes went very wide at the taste, and you quickly leaned closer to take the spoon into your mouth.
“Good right?” Leah asked with a chuckle as the spoon came out of your mouth, completely free of peanut butter.
You woofed softly, using your nose to nudge the now empty spoon back towards Leah, eyeing the jar on the counter.
She followed your eyes, shaking her head. “How about we try something else?”
Alessia would kill her if she found out all you had eaten was Peanut Butter when you hadn’t been interested at all in dinner. She would point out that you needed carbs and protein to help you get to a healthy weight while being healthy. Neither of them liked how… skeletal you were, and any food was good really, but so was balance to give you the most sustainable energy they could.
Leah searched the counter, looking for something to pair with the only food you seemed to like.
“What about some banana?” She asked, grabbing for the fruit.
She opened it and broke off a piece, offering it to you.
You leaned forward to sniff it and pulled back in disgust.
“What about if we add some Peanut butter?” She asked, digging the spoon back into the peanut butter and sticking the pale yellow slice on top.
You stared at her skeptically, sure that the fruit would ruin the delicious brown treat underneath.
“It’s good, trust me,” Leah promised when your eyes flickered back up to her.
You huffed, scrunching your nose up at it, and then flinching away when you realized what you had done.
“No pretty girl, you’re ok,” Leah said, dropping her voice and immediately sinking down so she was on the same level as you. She didn’t want to frighten you. “You’re allowed to not like things,”
You curled into yourself, tucking your body as close as you could to the island.
Leah wondered idly if Alessia would have elicited the same reaction from you. You seemed to trust the forward more for whatever reason.
She gently pulled the banana bit off of the spoon, popping it into her mouth and offering the peanut butter to you once again.
You sniffed, barely peeking out at her.
She understood now why peanut butter was the only food on your list at the shelter.
It was the only thing besides Alessia (and maybe your blue blanket) that you would risk coming out of your shell for.
“You can have it,” Leah assured you, keeping her voice soothing and calm, ignoring the soft sound of padding feet coming down the hallway from their bedroom. “You’re ok,”
You sniffed again, wishing you had brought your blanket with you on this excursion. Bad things always happened when you forgot it.
You wanted to trust Leah, and the peanut butter did smell amazing.
Very slowly, you leaned forward towards the spoon, making eye contact with Leah before you took it back into your mouth.
She kept still as you licked it clean with a satisfied sigh, and pulled away.
“Let’s go to bed,” She said, slowly pushing herself to stand, placing the spoon in the sink to be dealt with in the morning, and putting the jar of Skippy back into the cabinet.
You woofed again softly, padding after her once she was done.
Maybe things would be good here.

Ko-fi thank-you sentences for Jan behind the cut; mistaken identities and interdimensional refugees. ( + non-chrono link for mobile users )
The hour goes pretty quick, either way, and Kon mostly keeps the kids distracted, and even a little bit entertained. He’s a performer at heart anyway, so he figures it’s his responsibility.
If it's not, he's gonna make it his responsibility, at least for the next hour.
A lot of people clear out of the camp in that hour in erratic fits and spurts, with alternate versions of their families or friends or just themselves, and Kon feels a little better about the idea of clearing out himself. He'll keep an ear on the camp until it's all cleared out, for sure, but at least he thinks it should be okay to leave it.
Jon needs–somebody, yeah, before something happens. Something always happens, when you're wearing the “S”.
Or you just find something that you have to happen to. Like, ethically speaking or whatever.
Kon figures he can keep an eye on Jon until either they all get home or this reality's Superman notices he's got an extra kid around. Assuming he's got a Jon here to recognize the heartbeat of, anyway. He probably does, if Kon's around and recognizable in the tabloids. Like, the timeline should be to that point, is all. And obviously Lois is gonna be a thing, so–yeah, he's gotta have a Jon by now. Maybe actually an older one than this one, come to think, but it's not like Clark wouldn't recognize his heartbeat anyway. Perfect recall and all, and he's had Jon's heartbeat memorized all his life.
Kon's pretty sure Clark still doesn't know his, but . . .
Never mind. Not important. Stupid thing to think about.
To care about.
Kon swallows. Keeps grinning for the kids, keeps coming up with new games for them to play, and waves goodbye to each one who gets collected by an aid worker and taken to whoever’s come to take care of them.
He wonders, again, if Ma and Pa would've come for him, if . . .
Stupid. Really, really stupid.
He wouldn't bother them with something that stupid anyway. He's a superhero. And he can take care of himself. He always has, hasn't he?
He'll take care of himself here too, even if . . .
Even if . . .
Kon tries not to think about . . . Kara. About Karen. Or “Paige”, or whatever she's going by now.
If she's still alive to be going by it, anyway.
If he isn't currently following in her footsteps, and won't ever see his reality again. Or her. Or . . . anyone he knows.
People who look like them, sure. People who came from the same concept of a person as them.
But not his own versions of them.
Not the versions who he belongs to.
He doesn't know what he'll do, if he can't get home this time.
He doesn’t . . .
He feels Rita approaching with his TTK–recognizes the shape of her body and the cut of her hair and the specific chip in the corner of her clipboard–and glances towards her, and is mildly surprised by who she’s with. It’s someone he definitely recognizes, but it’s not anyone he expected. At least not here and now, anyway.
“Your ride’s here, sir!” Rita says, looking as relieved as every aid worker who’s come up with a local host for somebody. Well–understandably, he figures.
“Hey, Rita. Hey, Alfie! No rest for the wicked, or just too many cooks in the kitchen again?” Kon greets with a grin, which is the easiest code phrase to use here that Tim gave him to start off with if he ever ran into an interdimensional Bat and the local Tim’s obviously gotta be the one who sent him, and Jon grabs onto his sleeve and blurts: “It’s dark this morning!”
Okay, Kon doesn’t recognize that one, but it’s definitely a Bat-phrase too. Jon was not particularly smooth about making it smooth, for one thing.
Alfred–impeccable as always in the full buttling uniform that Kon has maybe only seen him out of twice, and both of those times were blood-drenched emergency situations–smiles at them both without visibly reacting past that, though Kon hears his heartbeat spike in recognition. Since he was presumably expecting to see the pair of them, or at least him, Kon can only assume that’s code-phrase-related.
“Hello, Master Bruce,” Alfred says, smooth and pleasant, and Kon . . . blinks. “Please allow me to escort you and your young charge to the manor.”
Wait.
What?
“Uh,” Kon says slowly. “O . . . kay? Uh–thanks, Alfie.”
“Of course, sir,” Alfred says, and his pleasant smile turns just a little less polite and a little more sincere. “Interdimensionally displaced or not, we’d hate to leave you out in the cold. No matter what time of night it is.”
Well, “out in the cold” is what Tim told him to look for in response to “no rest for the wicked”, and he’s betting the “time of night” comment is meant for Jon from the way the kid perked up at hearing it, so . . . yeah, alright then. This is apparently just what’s happening now.

Romance
Earth customs are weird.
Kara knows this; has known it for many years. And sure, she’s spent all those years trying to learn, trying to understand what makes humans tick so she could mimic it successfully enough to not stand out.
“Fake it til you make it”, Alex used to say, implying that if Kara spent enough time pretending, human behaviour would eventually become second nature to her.
And fake it she did. Some Earth customs were easy enough to adopt. Like wide smiles that cover up her pain, the concept of comfort foods or all-you-can-eat buffets, or even humans’ tendency to find excuses to turn any random day into some kind of celebration - Hump Day, Tax Deadline Day, Polar Bear Plunge Day, National Frozen Yogurt Day. (She’s half-convinced that most of these are inventions by Alex to confuse her, but she celebrates National Gummy Worm Day on July 15th anyway.)
But if she’s honest, a lot of the things that humans do, their customs, their rituals, still seem a little strange to Kara. Even after years of trying to understand.
Chatting up strangers, for example. On Krypton, interactions with someone not known to a person would have required some sort of intermediary, an introduction through a trusted person. If Kara had even dared to walk up to a stranger to talk to them, she would have faced discipline not just from her family but also from the broader community. When she first landed on Earth, she relied on Eliza or Alex to make introductions and felt intensely uncomfortable when kids at school would randomly talk to her. It took her a long time to believably mimic these kinds of human interactions, and if she’s honest, she still prefers an official introduction over just chatting up people out of the blue. (It’s why she was happy to tag along with Clark for her first encounter with Lena.)
Or there’s the act of blowing out candles on a birthday cake. Extinguishing light instead of keeping it burning as a means of celebration. The first time Eliza prompted Kara to blow out her candles, Kara was horrified and it took a lot of gentle reassurances from her adoptive mother to even consider partaking in this peculiar human tradition. To this day, Kara prefers her candles away from her cake and to leave them burning for as long as safely possible.
And then there are all the gestures associated with romance. With Krypton’s system of arranged pairings based on compatibility across a number of important factors, there was no need to wine and dine anyone. She could remember her parents showing affection for each other, but there was never any ritualized approach to romantic moments. Humans, on the other hand, humans have rules about dates, about which flowers are appropriate to give to someone and when, about who pays the bill at the fancy restaurant, about slow-dancing and little gifts and how many feelings to reveal and when.
It’s a lot to keep track of and confusing, and all the romance movies in the world cannot prepare Kara for her first official date with Lena.
She shows up with plumerias, because she knows Lena likes those and she knows, knows, that she’s supposed to bring flowers. But then Lena has tears in her eyes as soon as Kara hands them over, and she’s also wearing this dress that hugs her body in ways that make Kara’s higher brain function fizzle out. So she doesn’t protest when Lena pulls her inside with her hands fisted into the lapels of Kara’s suit jacket, follows Lena’s lead when she pushes her against the kitchen island and kisses her senseless, and finds herself naked and sweaty in Lena’s bed not long after that.
When Kara’s stomach rumbles a couple of hours later and Lena calls to have some food delivered, Lena chuckles.
“We kind of did this all backwards.”
Kara frowns. “How so?”
“Well,” Lena leans in and presses her lips close to Kara’s ear, making her shiver, “usually, the clothes come off after the fancy dinner.”
“You humans have a lot of rules about romance,” Kara huffs, and Lena laughs.
“I suppose we do. But I’m happy to break every single one of them with you, Kara Zor-El.”

LOOVVVEEDDDD the demo and can't wait for the update! I hope you don't mind that I got two questions, but I gotta ask: what kinda hobby options do you have written down for the MC? Also, how would all the ROs, plus Chris, Jade, and Aunt Em, react if MC's cooking is five-star restaurant levels good? (I imagine Chris is kicking themselves over losing a god-tier-chef MC who cooks as a hobby)
💗 Glad you enjoyed and I don't mind at all! 1. We have writing/reading, art (drawing, painting), gaming/watching anime, cooking, photography, music (could be singing/playing instrument), exercising.
I'm going into it with the thought that depending on the hobby the MC will have the chance to spend time with RO's even in a platonic sense as well as be used to further their business. (For example: an MC who likes to exercise has the chance to run into two RO's. MC who is into art can create a logo for their business) (2 is under the cut due to length)
2. 💩 Chris - Butthurt. Which is what we want! Clarke family curse is that they can't cook right? So Chris before MC relied on fast food or their parents chef. The only real homecooked food they had was from MC or Em when they visited. It's like throwing salt on a wound. Because now they're back to fast food, easy snacks. Because Jade can't cook a damned thing. Chris is pretty sure doggo enjoys watching as Chris mumbles about wanting a hot meal from time to time.
💀 Jade - In her eyes she doesn't have time to waste on things like cooking. Why would she bother when she can just have Chris take her out to some fancy dinner? The only reason MC bothers is because they have nothing else to do obviously. (She's jelly very jealous)
😇 Em - If MC is great at cooking then Em was the one who likely taught them the basics. So for Em, it's like winning a prize. All those little dinners they have Em can have MC help. It's refreshing to be able to have someone else in the kitchen with her, it's something she hasn't had the luxury of in many years. (She's really relieved that MC and Cam won't starve. Cam could screw up warming soup, so for Em it's a blessing.)
❤️ Cam - Oh it's like he won the lottery, and it's Christmas and his birthday all at the same time. Cam is an eater, he loves food. An MC who can keep him fed is like the cherry on top for him. MC would have to tell Cam not to bother them late at night, when he's up all alone on his laptop. He just wants one snack, honest!!! He will use puppy dog eyes, don't let them deter you!
💙 G - To them it's a nice ability to have. In fact, G will be curious as to why they only get cake's on their birthday. Shouldn't they be allowed more? Do they look like someone who doesn't enjoy the delicious taste of dessert? They would want to watch MC cook from time to time, see if they can pick up some of the things they do and surprise them later with a nice home cooked meal.
💚 Kara - Finally, someone who can cook and not kill her! She's thankful all too much, this will be the one time you see her tearing up when she realizes she doesn't have to eat another cold sandwich for work. She would want to help, Kara wants to bake. She wants to be able to make cute cakes and cookies. But, she should never ever be allowed in the kitchen. She's worse than Cam.
💛 M - Won't even notice at first, even when they see MC in their kitchen. They have no idea why MC is in there, M kinda lives off easy food, until their moms send them something. Even then they kind of forget to eat. So imagine their surprise when MC has a five star meal ready for them when they finally look up from their computer. Absolutely flabbergasted. Can MC try and make recipes they've seen in anime? Is it weird for them to ask? Sorry MC, but your cooking expertise is going to be wrote about.
💜 Isaac - They aren't the worst in the kitchen, they can make some delicious stuff but Isaac sticks to what they know. They haven't had someone actually cook for them since their mother died. It would be a bitter topic at first, Isaac not wanting to seem thrilled by the notion. Then they would make the offhanded jokes that MC knows the way to their heart is through their stomach. But they would begin to truly appreciate it, and eventually want MC to try making their mothers signature dish. (The one Isaac makes when they feel lonely.)
🖤 Ardent - As a wiz in the kitchen, don't think that's going to impress him so easily. In fact, don't think that MC can make better baklava than him. It would become a competition, Ardent far too cocky for his own good thinking that there is no way MC can be better in the kitchen than him. When he finds out that he actually enjoys MC's food, he will play it off like he's allowing MC to cook for him. Like he's allowing them to do him a favor. (he will be making moans of how delicious mc's cooking is) play it off like he's sore from working out.
